Treated me like dirt and told me to leave, o but they gave me 2 oil changes, I'd rather see the employee fired, but I could be wrong and they just don't train the employees right. When my warranty is over I'll never do any business there any more, sad.

I am typing on behalf of my friend that had to get a new car because of the damaging mechanic work and all out horrible experience at pepboys. She went in for a routine oil change and inspection. After the change, she and the store mgr noticed the oil light was now illuminated and there were no inspection notes. they scheduled a time to return to get the oil light looked at and get a tune up in preparation for inspection. After 3 days, she was told she could pick up her truck, she paid, the keys were returned and car still idoled horribly. when they open the hood, it was dirty with smudge prints all throughout the engine, a filthy rag left inside the hood, and a missing engine cover. again they had to schedule a time to return to get it all the looked at. anyways... after the next visit the car stalled while in traffic. the inexperienced store clerks, misinformed technicians, disturbing timelines, and most of all now an allegedly "fixed" truck now dying on her, leaving her stranded on the coldest day of january. having to spend numerous of money on lyfy rides, rental cars, asking for help. etc. just to find out that they are denouncing any wrongdoing for their slaughter of her once fully functioning Lexus truck. she was told that that a claim was submitted for the poor work and refunded, along with acknowledgment their negligence and their fault for her inoperable vehicle, funds back to her pep boys but no funding for her salvaged vehicle, missed work, rentals, and other traumatic experience. she received a call to talk the manager, manager and pep boys did nothing to compensate fully for damages and despair. they have not contacted her regarding the claim as they agreed too. nothing. poor piss poor service. pep boys what are you going to do? this is a disgrace and leaving her still trying to get back to normalcy that you are of the cause of. need answers, soon.

After 4 months of my truck taken to Pep Boys in...

After 4 months of my truck taken to Pep Boys in Fayetteville, NC, and being charged over $1,500.00 for a fuel pump that the mechanic told me with a service manager present, that he didn't change my pump.

The manager told me that a new pump will be put in. 4 times that I was told my truck was repaired and ready for pickup, it was towed back because my vehicle still wouldn't start with the same original problem.

Finally after having the truck for 4 weeks on the fourth time in for repair, I was to that it was the spark pulse causing the problem.
I just picked up the truck with the new spark plugs and it's running great.

I expect a total refund for a fuel pump that was misdiagnosed by your mechanic.

If there was no stars that's what I'd rate Pep Boys as whole. We went to two different stores in our area and they were horrible. I tried to call the corporate facility to complain and since I didn't have an exact number it hung up on me. They make it impossible to file a complaint. We wasted our day yesterday after making an appt to find out our vehicle was too big for their allignment machine. When we complained to the assitant manager he made it sound like it was our fault. This place SUCKS, I'll never do business with them again.

Been waiting for a refund and going through the process since around may. 2 months ago they said everything was approved in the check should be in the mail any day. my best advice is if you have to deal with customer service continually be on it and calling constantly because it seems like their hope is that you just get frustrated and forget about whatever it was that was the initial issue

I will never go here again! They took my money over $1000 an still couldn't fix my car after 2 weeks. Then had my car towed to the dealer which took another week they fixed it, pepboys payed for that but they did not refund my money for the rental i had to pay for nor the money i payed for them to fix and they didnt. I will not refer anyone here! An to make it worst I made 2 complaints to corporate district manager and regional vp and still havent recieved a response... Some company...

I'm a long time customer at the Belair Md location. Today my husband took our kia to get air in the tire. Asked the mechanic to please adjust the psi in all 4 tires. The mechanic went around the car in what seemed like seconds. My husband has worked on cars all his life n knew the mechanic did not fill the tires. He called me bc i was bring our other car for air as well n told me what happened. I told him to wait for me there. I drove to the bay door where i have gone many times asked if i could get air the man was not the nice African man that usually checks my tires but a this man acted if it was to much trouble. He didn't seem like he wanted to help me as i open the door to check what the psi should be he was filling my tire in a Mercedes the car was telling me he had put 41 psi in the tire i told him it was to much it seemed as if he didnt care. The man never replied me then i ask if he spoke. He must have realized i knew what was happening and went n got a better gauge then he fixed all tires. Not knowing at the time this was the same man that waited on my husband. I then thanked the man n went to were my husband was parked. He was telling me how the man never put air in the tire. We switched cars the light still indicated the psi was still low. I then took the kia to Marchant tires around the corner to have the air pressure checked and my husband was right the guy never put air in the tires so the friendly attendant at merchant tires fixed all my tire at 35 psi which where all below 30.
I then went back n spoke to the assistant manager and he did nothing n went on n helped the nexted customer. The women told me oh thats just the way he is. This was whole experience was heart breaking. The man is truly a racist. And what he did was unacceptable n very unprofessional. If you work with the public you need to put aside your issues n be respectful n take care of the customers with kindness and professionalism and they will return or even spread the good word. But the man has just ran off me as a long time customer. What he doesn't realize is with little to no customers he will be out of a job. Putting air in a tire is such a small task. But what this man did could have caused a serious accident. Its saddens me to know that someone could have a issue bc of the color of ones skin color. Now i don't trust your company to do any work on my kia or my Mercedes.

Once my daughter received service we were very satisfied Tech Rodney H that assisted my daughter Nia Johnson went over and beyond, the cashier Luis L. was very helpful also. I made an appointment to get a tire, oil change, alignment and inspection. They did not have the tire and made a 7am appointment for me today (Saturday). I was here and at 9:30 am noticed my car was still in the lot. I went to the desk and asked what was going on and was told they do not do inspections by appointment, it was against the law in Virginia. I pulled up the Virginia code to show him (presuming he could read) that was NOT TRUE. Told him to forget the inspection and just get the rest done. It is now 1:30 and I am still here. The man I saw on the previos day had put a not on the top of my sheet to do an inspection. This jerk said he did not care what someone else did. I do not understand why I was here at 7am. I have been a previous customer and will NEVER come back here. I would not give the 1 star.

to get an oil change since they're the few places that carried Mobile 1 oil. This location is the closest to me in Kearny Mesa. So I made t I've dealt with some horrible service in the past, but this whole experience was by far the most horrific one in memory. I took my Toyota MR2 Turbo to Pep Boys to get an oil change since they're the few places that carried Mobile 1 oil. This location is the closest to me in Kearny Mesa. So I made the appointment online and got in on the same day, which was great! Here's my experience at Pep Boys:

Tuesday: Oil Change Appt @ 1:00 pm
Around 1:30 pm one guy came to me and said "Sorry, I accidentally broke one of your T-Top."
I told him, "Oh, no worries as long as you can take care of it for me. I am cool with that." Obviously, I didn't want to make a big deal since it was an accident.

They gave me a FREE oil change so I thought it was good that's the least they can do. I had to go vacuum the broken glasses from my car. They didn't even handle that for me.

Wednesday: They texted me saying the T-Top had arrived. I asked them if they can do me a favor and drop it off to me so it doesn't inconvenience me. They said they can't so I drove there to pick up the T-Top, but it didn't match with mine. So I told them to get one to match with this one and they can take my original one.

Thursday: Came back to the shop yet again, they told me it's a better option if we tint the original and the new one. Since getting another one would take 1-2 weeks from eBay. I just wanted to get it over with. Since I can't park my car outside without my T-Tops.

Friday: The guy texted me saying they will look into finding a tint shop and send the info to me. All I have to do is drop off it off and they will handle the rest and reimburse me. A few hours later, he told me why don't I go look for one myself and again they will take care of the bill. So I had to look around for the shop then bring it to them to do the tint.

Saturday: Picked up my car and the cost was $200. I called Pep Boys so I can get my money. Of course, I didn't expect them to deliver it to me since they haven't inconvenienced me enough already. They said the manager will be there until 6 pm. So I showed up at 4:30 pm. Present the receipt to the guy and he said can you come back on Monday.

I've been calm throughout this whole situation but when he tell me to come back again after my 3rd trip back. I lost it. At this point, I am PISSED OFF. All I wanted was to get my money and done. Of course they didn't want me to cause a scene so they got a manager to get me the money.

This dude (Big Chris) got the guts to question why the bill was so much. I told him if you guys handle the whole tinting process then I wouldn't have to get my own. If it's up to me of course I'll Yelp the best tint shop in San Diego. The bill was for $200 because I wanted a rush order. He didn't really want to reimburse at first. After another 30 minutes there. They finally reimburse me the $200. Chris said "At least, you got a free oil change out of it!"

I was like are you kidding me. I just wanted to get my oil change and go home.

FREE OIL Change doesn't equal to my 3 trips back and forth to them. 1 trip to the tint shop and endless hours waiting around for them to get it done for me.

To Chris the big manager at the Genesee Pep Boys I rather pay the oil change. End of story!

I have went to pepboys and have spent alot of money with this company. And every time i get bad service i told myself that i wouldnt fool with them anymore. But was like let me try them one more time just to see if its me or the company and it not the company its their employees they hire. I went in on November 29 2017 at 1230 right before i had to be in class. For a motor mount replacement and was told it would only take a couple of hours but i told him its cool because i have class and will be back to get it later. So at 6pm of my arrival i see that my car is still in the same place i parked it. The employee tells me we forgot to call you to let you know the tech went home sick. But when i walk in everybody in the shop was at the counter. After they heard me complaining everybody at the counter goes back into the shop. He tells me they were going to start on it like right now. I ask him what time do the shop close he tells me 8. He said if we dont call you back tonight your car will be done in the morning. So i said cool once again. I call the next morning this morning to ask if my car was ready. He tells me that my car will be ready this after noon this will mean that they will have my car 14 plus hours and only had to put on one motor mount. This is the last time i will fool with your company because of the treatment and i feel the abuse from your company. This is the madison tn area. Thanks again

They don't deserve a star. I'm ready to sue pep boys, if anyone interested, let's get together. I drove my car to Pep Boys today just before 6pm, did not leave until around 9pm. Instead of them fixing my car they damaged it, and later told me they did not have the exact part, they still have to order it, but I was told before they went to work on my car, that they had the parts in stock. I told them before I left that my car was making loud noise, than it was before I brought it, and I was afraid to get in it. We had a heated argument before I left, kept telling them they did something wrong to my car, for sure my car broke down on my way home. I had to leave it on he highway, and ask for ride home. I'm very hurt and disappointed in them. I thought they were better. I will be calling them tomorrow morning. I'm ready to reach Coperate and above. It's a long story, I can't explain it all. It's sad that every review is negative.

Paid pep boys to tow my sons truck to their location closest to my house. They did an inspection of the truck and told my son it would cost $2800.00 for the repairs. I had them send me a copy of the estimate and there were charges on there that were completely ridiculous. They wanted to repair both sides of the truck when only one needed repaired. On top of that they charged us to inspect the truck. The truck was then towed to another local service company who quoted us $1395.00 because the repairs did not need to be made on both sides of the truck. When I called the local company and asked would he charge me to inspect it, he said absolutely not, ma'am. I don't know what is going on with this company but ripping off is sad. Brake fluid $7.99 but $52.00 in labor to install it. So many charges that were unnecessary.

I was headed to Panama City Beach FL on 4/2/17 and my window on my passenger side sliding door stopped working on my Honda Odyssey Van. I was freaking out and as soon as we got to PCB we didn't even check into our condo. We went straight to stores/companies trying to find a place to help me by at least getting it up because there were bad storms coming. Well Pepboys is the only thing I found that was open being it was Sunday. I went to one on 98 on the beach side to PCB FL and they sent us to the one on 23rd Street in PCB FL since they had a "window repair guy" at their location. Well they looked at my van, swapped switches and then ended up needing to take my door panel off to check the window motor. After this lazy and nasty "mechanic" was done tearing my door panel off, they told us I needed a new window motor and that they would keep the panel until I came the next day when the window motor part would arrive since it had to be ordered. Well this "mechanic" had black grease from the back side of my van, All they way to the front side, black grease all over my carpet, seats, steering wheel, All door handles etc...the next day, no part yet, so 2 days later I called and they said they had it so I told them we would come Wednesday to sit and wait for it to get put on. Well I never got a call to come in so I called and all of a sudden, my planned day (wednesday) to come in and let this guy (their only window repair guy) put it on, he calls out that day and so did the manager who was there before. So I proceeded to tell them this was a messed up situation and I would just come and get my door panel and take it home back to Ga with me. I get there and all they brought me was my door panel, no handle, no window switch, no door lock etc. This guy had misplaced them all so these workers had to go search everywhere for my missing pieces. We had already paid a "partial" payment on Sunday when this guy stripped my door panel off. We paid $117 I guess just for this employee to tear my van up. Not only was the job not finished, grease I couldn't get off (which he complained on Sunday because I had a fit because it's his place to clean it off) and he tore My electronic door up so now it won't open with the electronic door button, scratched paint off the top/side of my vehicle, dented in the bottom of my door on the outside and so much more. I have never seen such laziness, carelessness and the most uneducated employees who don't wanna do their job. He made a comment that "he didn't care as long as he got paid from Pepboys" great customer service huh? NOT! I will be contacting my attorney for the damages with my vehicle. I don't know how this place is still in business. Oh and they make fun of customers once they've turned their back and walk off. I heard them saying some mean things about their customers. Such a shame!!! Get a hold of yourselves and get better workers or shut down!!

Pep Boys Fullerton and Gill Rodriguez cannot be trusted. Their technicians are not trained and their quality of work is horrible. Do NOT take care your car there at ALL. I also tried calling the Los Angeles office for help and the phone line just a keeps looping.

I drove my car into Pep Boys because it was running rough - my car has been at this location for 6 days, and now - it's no longer running AT ALL. They advised originally that it would cost me $2400 to fix my car, which my husband and I agreed too provided we could pick it up four days later. Four days later, not only was my car not FIXED but it no longer runs - at all? They claimed it was because the computer they put in the car, they figured out needs to be celebrated, but my concern is that they didn't know this as mechanics?
I'm contacting the corporate office and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and will seek to recoup any costs associated with the delayed service we were originally advised.

UPDATE: Finally got my car back after 7 days. They changed the starter only to find out the computer they ordered had not been flashed. They said that O'Reilly auto parts should have flashed the computer, however, I called O'Reilly and they advised they DO NOT do that. So two days of waiting for to Pep Boys mechanic not knowing how to do their job. They ended up trying to get us to purchase the starter they installed for 400$ - we declined.

They ended up trying to charge us for the flashing of the computer even though it wasn't quoted and gave us a discount, which was nice.

I will say this. There was a dude, Josh, who was our contact through this debacle. He was fantastic. Even when I was upset, he was calm and apologetic. He had great customer service even when under high stress. I give HIM five stars.

I rolled over a small sharp object at the car wash down the street from the Pep Boys. My air pressure was quickly going down. I frantically drive across the street to Pep Boys in Homewood IL for tire repair. The guy (cashier 468642) was extremely courteous. However, after checking out the tire, I was told that I needed A FULL SET OF TIRES!! I just looked at him with speechless. He then said, let me check with my mgr to see if they can,just fux the tire. They repaired the tire and charged me $22.17. Utterly disappointed in this misleading service

Do not get your foreign car (BMW, AUDI, BENZ) serviced at a Pepboys. Please. Please. Please. Don't. Pay the extra by going to somewhere certified, or even the dealership. I've had a ongoing coolant problem, and I've forked over thousands of dollars..just to not have the problem fixed. I thought I could "trust the boys", but the boys are not up to par.

PepBoys is trying to "sweep" me under the rug after they ruined my new car! On June 30th, I went to Pep Boys in Nashua, NH @ 274 Amherst Street to get an oil change. I was moving to Texas that same day, and was driving down there. On the way down, my car overheated a couple of times before I reached Texas. When my daughter and I finally got into Dallas, it overheated a few times again. At that point, I just wanted to get home, and let it cool off. My car was parked in my Aunt s driveway for a couple of days, and then I took it to a AutoZone that was very close to my aunt s house so I wouldn t have to drive it far. When I got to the AutoZone, I explained to them what was happening to my car, and we all thought that it just needed coolant, which I thought was strange considering I JUST got an oil change and the fluids are supposed to be topped off. When the attendant and I opened my hood, and we found that whomever did my oil change, didn t put the cap back on the coolant tank! Well, needless to say, I was extremely angry. I had driven ALL THE WAY down to Texas like this! And luckily, the cap was still there. I immediately called Pep Boys in Nashua, and told them what happened. Spoke to Mike, the Service Manager at that time, who apologized for the mistake, stated that the tech would be spoken to, and asked me how the car was. I told him that I was concerned about further damage to my car, and he asked me to take it to a nearby Pep Boys to have it checked out. The next day, I called the Pep Boys in Fort Worth @ Seminary Drive. Spoke to Alex, the Assistant Manager. Explained to him the whole situation, and he made an appt to bring the car in on Wednesday, July 11th. I came in that next day, spoke to Alex, who then had the tech Conner, look at my car. Just to let you know, they did NOT bring it into the bay to look at it. Connor basically opened up the hood, looked at it, topped off the coolant, and said that if anything was wrong with it further, to bring it back.
Ok, so my car WAS fine since then, until Sunday, Sept. 9th,2018. I came out of work in Dallas, and my car wouldn t start. At first, we thought that it might have been just the battery, so, one of the doctors that I work with stayed with me and tried to jump my car. After 35 min, we finally gave up and I had to call my cousin to pick my up. I had to leave the car in Dallas, because I had just worked at 13 hour shift, was exhausted, and was not going to wait for a tow. The next morning, I came out with my brother and called for a tow truck. They towed my car to a Ford Dealership in Arlington, Tx Auto Nation Ford which is where it had been since Sept. 10th. Long story short, the head gasket and cylinder had to be replaced on my car, due to the negligence of the tech who left the cap off my coolant tank from the oil change in Nashua, which caused my car to overheat. That can be confirmed, by the diagnostic check when I brought it into AutoZone, AND from Auto Nation who is repaired my car. My car is a 2016 Ford Focus SE Eco boost, and it was practically brand new with only 26,000 miles at the time of the oil change. Had NO problems or repairs or anything wrong with my car until THIS! To date, I have NOT heard from ANYONE in corporate, or claims regarding this matter, and I'm about to take this to the Attorney General. DO NOT go to PEPBOYS! They will ruin your car, and will try to "blow you off" like they are trying to do to me, but they picked the WRONG person to try this on!

Thwn after a week so called service manager says will take care of but instead lied and wont respond. I am handing this over to my attorney. I have all the texts from pep boys manager. If I could give negative stars to Pep Boys I would. Every time I go into a Pep Boys I am misinformed or under-informed about something or the services that I've received are not what I asked for. The last time I received an oil change full synthetic oil was put into my car when I asked for semi synthetic and the girl behind the counter asked me, with attitude, "do you want us to drain the oil and add the correct oil?" Sure I want to spend more of my time because Pep Boys made a mistake. Today I'm standing in a Pep Boys waiting to have my tire checked. I was told to stop by at 1 p.m. and there was no appointment registered for me! The manager told me that I would have to wait up to an hour and a half for my car to be seen. He repeated himself at least half a dozen times. Then he made an unsolicited Comment on how long ago I bought the tires. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by an auto repair place in all my life no matter what location I go to. This is my last trip ever to Pep Boys!!!

Extremely disappointed in Pep Boys. I have taken 4 vehicles to this location and I am not sure what has happened to the staffing and staff, but it has taken a dramatic turn for the absolute worse...... and now that I see updated reviews I see everyone has pretty much had the same issue. My car wouldn't start on Sunday 11/18, called Pep Boys, talked to Lauren. She told me they had a lot of appointments, some that were not confirmed, so she couldn't guarantee that it would get in Sunday... but if not Monday. I was fine with that, hoping for the best, but was okay if it got in on Monday. I hadn't heard anything on Sunday, in which I was prepared for..... but on Monday I didn't hear anything, called 3 times with the same answer, they had not got it back yet. Went in after I got off work, was told by a nice gentleman (**That I could obviously see was extremely frustrated, which I could understand seeing as it looked as they were extremely understaffed**) and asked about my vehicle. After stating he was doing the best he could, but assured me that my car was the next vehicle to be brought back and he would probably be there way past 9p or 10p, that I will get a call with a diagnosis. Now it is Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., my husband is at Pep Boys as I type, waiting for a tow truck to pick the vehicle up and take it to another shop. The vehicle is STILL in the same spot it was in yesterday when I went in and spoke with the gentleman. I used my AAA to get the vehicle towed to Pep Boys, and since they do not tow twice for the same mechanical breakdown, we are pay OUT OF POCKET for a flat bed tow (because my car is an AWD) to take it less than 2 miles to another mechanic shop. AGAIN, I have been a LONG time customer OF THIS Pep Boys and have historically gotten extremely good service here. I would have Lauren told me that they would not be able to get to my vehicle before the holidays due to the back up, then for me to get strung along!!!! TELL ME THERE ARE TOO MANY APPOINTMENTS TO GET A TOW IN THE SHOP!!!!! GIVE ME A WARNING THAT IT MAY NOT GET IN FOR A FEW DAYS!!! GIVE ME THAT OPTION, do not allow for a towed car to come in without a clear understanding that it will take DAYS maybe a week to get it in!!!! I would have been clear on that and made sure that could work for me! Pep Boys, in the past, has told me that they couldn't work on my vehicle for days/week before and made it clear..... why has that changed???? I wouldn't be upset or mad at that, but now I am having to pay for a tow, when I could've used that free tow AND had my car to drive by now!!!!! Extremely disappointed and will NEVER take any of my vehicles back to this location!!!!! I just want to reiterate for the 3rd time, I have been a long-time customer and have spent a lot of money here. I will never take any of my vehicles here ever again! They need to bring in some big wigs to this store, or a better store manager!!!! If I could rate them with a negative star I would. I took my husbands car in to be fixed at pep boys at 63rd Avenue and Bell rd in Arizona. When I took his Monte Carlo Super Sport in the dash lights all worked. Silly me did not think to check the dash lights when I left Pep Boys (it was daytime). I just checked that the heater was fixed. My husband calls me the next morning to inform me that the light on the dash board does not light up. I called and made an appointment to bring his car back so they can fix what they did. Well low and behold they are telling me I need another part in order to fix the light. Wow what a scam!! I feel they took advantage of me being a woman and now are trying to get more money. I spent the whole day there while they supposedly fixed my husbands car. Where has decency and ethics gone! They also tell me it was the other service writer who is not there now and I will have to reach him when he gets back in a few days that they know nothing about it!! We have given them a lot of business the past few years and this is how we get treated. Not to mention they screwed up 2 of my husbands days off so far dealing with this. The reason I took it in in instead of my husband was to help him because he works so many hours. We will never go back to them for any of our cars again. I went to Pep Boy's on Sunday to have a check engine light on my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer fixed. They called me back to tell me that it was the crank shaft sensor and solenoid. I had them do the work at the cost of almost $700.00. Only to drive away after confirmation by Pep Boys that the check engine light was off and the car was fixed. After driving for an hour the check engine light came on again. I placed a call back to the shop and the rep told me the tech did not leave until 6pm it was not 4:45pm. I brought the car back and they pulled it right in. After twenty seconds the tech came out and whispered to the rep to come with him a minute. After about ten second the rep came out only to proceed to tell me that the same code had popped up again. I then said I'm not sure how that's possible if you did the diagnostic work to complete it. After having this conversation I requested to have the old parts. I was told they could only give me one part and that the other part was a core charge of $34.00. I walk away and said I would call a manger in doing so I was able to talk with Pete and make arrangements to drop the truck off on Tuesday the 30th of the June. I did so the night of the 29th of June. I waited all day and finally my wife called and was told that my engine was shot it had metal shavings in it and was bad. Hmm my question is how do I go from a solenoid to shot engine but they changed the solenoid and other part knowing the engine was bad. Here's the kicker my vehicle runs fine no ticking tapping and or knocking just the check engine light was on. Pep boys really screwed me over. Thought they were a reputable business Damn!

As far as the serpentine belt, I replaced it about 1 1/2 month ago.
With no patience he said, you need to replaced the alternator. That's what the diagnosis says.
To make it short. My car was there for 2 days.
They supposedly changed the alternator twice, charged me $310. , and the car still has the same problem.
He told me you need to take the car to an electrician.
We do have one on another location.

What assures me that my alternator was bad?
He kept walking towards outside because it was closing time, and said "be careful driving, do not turn on the lights, nor the a/c.

I ordered a tire online 12/28/19 and the tire was supposed to come in after 1:00 on the 29th so I made an appointment to have it installed at 4:00 on the 29th. I called up until 4:00 and was told the tire didn t come in. I caled the Forestville, MD store at 7:30am and after being on hold for over 10min was told the tire still wasn t there so I asked the employee to find out when my tire would be available and was put on hold again. When she finally came back to the phone she told me she had to find out what store the tire was coming from so she could tell me if it was coming in today or tomorrow because it didn t list it in the system. She put me on hold again and when she came back to the phone she said the tire was there and someone had put it in the back. And I asked if I could come in now to get tire installed and was told no one would be there for 2 hours. So I would like to know why I wasn t sent an email notifying me that my tire was there and why was it put in the back where it couldn t be found. Online orders are supposed to be put in a section in front of store and an email was supposed to be sent to me when it arrived. This is the second time I have had to deal with this situation and it will be the last time. This location is a joke they are lazy and unprofessional. I would not recommend Pepboys to anyone and will not be patronizing this store again.

My husband and I took our van to the store in 3933 W Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, Fl on a Saturday for brakes and new tires to make a long story short we got the van back and had to go back because the break lights were not working , than the next day on the way to work the breaks got stuck and there was smoke coming out , took the van back again and was told we needed a brake booster had already paid about 1,200.00 for the brakes and on top of that charged us another $639.00 for the brake booster took the van home and again the next day the breaks got stuck, called pep boys and they said that they did all they could and that it probably needs the brake hose I told the manager that How is it that it needs something else and they could no or fix the problem our van was in good condition when we went there it only needed brakes and a tire , we took the van somewhere else and it turned out that they had put in the brakes backwards and the brake booster backwards , this is very negligent of them I called corporate to make a complaint and no one has called me back . Don t go to Pep Boys they don t know what they are doing? And believe me I will be contacting the better business bureau.

My family and I were on the road heading from CHICAGO to Virginia taking my daughter to college and our car started overheating so we took it to the Pep Boys in Indianapolis located 4500 Layfette road. We arrived about 8:00 AM and was greeted by Dave who was non informative and non customer friendly. He did not know when the mechanic would arrive only that there was so many cars ahead of ours.

We left to see if we could find another mechanic that could service our car right away but we could not so we went back to Pep Boys and unfriendly Dave indicated that there were cars ahead of us and they would look at our car that afternoon. So in order for us not to wait in Pep Boys lobby for that amount of time, we decided to rent a hotel room for the afternoon. After checking into the hotel my husband brought the car back to Pep Boys around 8:30 and he spoke to Jodie who was pleasant enough. She indicated she would call him with an update.

Around 9:00AM Jodie called my husband and was told that a diagnostic was done and the gasket covers needed replacing as well as the timing belt and that they had all parts to complete the job so he gave authorization to fix all issues for $1100.

Around 1PM my daughter called and was told they had not looked at the car at that time and it would be a couple more hours.

My husband called a while later, around 3PM and was told by Jodie that there was a part that came in late but the car was dismantled and there were a couple of cars ahead of us and ours would be ready the next morning so we extended our stay at the hotel for the night.

As soon as Pep Boys opened for business the next day my husband was there and he again was greeted by unfriendly and uninformed Dave that our car had not even been looked at!! He again didn't know when the mechanic would be in but knew that it would take another 8 hours before the car would be fixed!!!

Everything they told us the day before was a lie!!! We wasted a whole day in Indianapolis and rented a room unnecessarily. If we were given truthful information we could've made a more informed decision and got the car fixed somewhere else.

This rating should be zero stars but that is not an option. We spent 3 hours heading back to CHICAGO to find another way to Virginia. I will be calling Headquarters because I think we should be reimbursed for the night we stayed in Indianapolis.

not good!! Purchased a wheel bearing from pep boys asked service desk ,"where" can i get bearing pressed into hub, ' OH WE CAN DO THAT RIGHT HERE. Cost was approx 47.00 dollars. After two warped rotors I, I replaced calipers and the brake line, and still had same problem. I removed tire and put car on stand and ran it in gear and noticed the hub was not spinning true. i miked the hub with a dial indicator and found the hub was bent. The only way the hub can get bent like that was in their 100 ton press when they pressed the bearing. So 350.00 dollars later, I learned not to go to pep boys.

During my wait, I wrote and continued to write a lengthy review. (See below) By the end of my wait, David R. managed to change my pure infuriation to merely annoyed. Today, June 27, 2019, David R. Called me personally and changed that merely annoyed to utter satisfaction. I have changed my 1-star rating to that of 4-stars. And just like my evaluator at work, my rating fell short of 5-stars. I had to leave some room for improvement.

Inneeded a flat tire repaired or replaced. I called the Pep Boys in Miamisburg, Ohio on June 22nd 2019 to see If they were busy. I was left on hold for 11 minutes before I hung up and called back. They had forgotten that I was left on hold. During the 2nd call I was told to make the 30 minute drive and they could fit me right in. Upon my arrival I was asked if I could leave the car, my wait would be 3 hours. I did not have transportation and I decided not to wait. After leaving I made an "appointment" online for the next day at 1 PM. The next day I arrived for my appointment and was told it would take 35 minutes. After sitting on their extremely hard and uncomfortable chairs for nearly 2 hours I checked on my car and it had not been touched. I was told after the oil change that they were doing they would get to my car. The nice lady getting the oil change, had also made her appointment for 1 PM. She has been here for nearly 2 hour and waiting as well.

It has now been 3 and 1/2 hours. Everyone that also had 1 PM appointments and one lady that had a 2 PM appointment have left. It's beginning to feel retaliatory. I was vocally complaining to other customers. I have been here since 1 PM it is now 4:31. Nobody has approached me since I first checked in.

After 4 hours they finally approached me. I need a new tire. Even though I bought the original tires here, they do not have a replacement to match. They have to order one and it is hours away. I have no way to leave my car, I do not have a ride. I do not want to have one odd tire, so I am replacing both front tires at twice the expense. I will not be returning to Pep Boys.

I used to be able to literally drop my car for an oil change in the morning and walk over to my work and they would call before the end of my workday. 8 hrs shift. Now I cannot drop it at all as they have opted for appointments only. The problem with this is if I had a customer right in front of me with cash and their car I would take them as appointments aren t as consistent, especially without taking a deposit to secure the spot for said appointments. The employees always say we don t have as many techs as the past. So why the hell wouldn t you hire more people? Losers all the way around now.

Purchased a car battery online for store pickup and was not refunded the core charge of $18. I tried to explain to the associate but he insisted that since the core charge did not show up on the receipt it was either never charged or automatically taken off. In my experience with cores...the fee ALWAYS shows up on the receipt when the old item is turned in. I did not want to continue to argue and perhaps get frustrated and left. I called customer service and they informed me I have to call customer relations (a direct transfer would've been great customer service) and have the area director look into this. That's wonderful except I was not even given the courtesy of this 800 number to file a complaint. I sit here wondering if $18 is worth the hassle of now digging through Google for this customer relations telephone number or if I should let it go. I know it's only $18 but it's the principal of it all. If a core charge is refundable, be an honest business & follow through...don't tell the customer that the fee has disappeared or was magically refunded when no such proof appears on a receipt upon core return. One thing is for certain, I will NEVER again do business with Pep Boys. This isn't my first issue with them. It was just the last straw and felt the need to speak out about it.

My daughter took her 2013 Ford Escape 1.6 Ecoboost to have the radiator and timing belt done at Pep Boys 2000 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703. They promised to have the car back the next day, but kept it for weeks, and when the car was ready, the timing was incorrectly set. A loud hissing noise was also evident on acceleration. Took it back and a few days later they said it was "all fixed". She collected the car again, but the very loud hissing noise was still there..So, back it went again--this time the manager tried to give us some BS about the waste gate having to relearn the turbo boost (what boost, there isn't any!). Also she is getting random check engine lights, so not a happy camper after spending over $1K. So ...this situation is still unresolved. Pep Boys need to do the right thing and put this car right.

I brought my car at 8:30 am to get the starter fixed at the Pep Boys in Hudson Mall 701 NJ -440 South in Jersey City. I was told that a diagnostic was needed to be done and they will call me with the results. I waited and no one called. I decided to call at around 1 pm and asked what were the results of the diagnostics. I was told that they have not even touched my car. Then I waited until 2:30 pm and went in person. I asked the associate if my car has been tested. The associate went to the back of the service area to get an answer. The associate told me that in another 2 1/2 hours it will be checked. I was angry. I asked the associate to get my keys and i left. I was angry for two reasons. If they could not handle the amount of work they had for today, they could of told me that it was too busy and then I would of taken my business somewhere else. Now, I still have my car issue and all mechanics in the area are either closing or closed. Wasted a whole day for nothing. The second reason is that no manager or supervisor came to me and asked why I was leaving. There is no urgency to try to save a customer from leaving. This is very Poor Customer Service! I understand that this whole pandemic situation is very stressful but it is no excuse to treat your customers the way I was treated.

Pep Boys just stole an hour of my life I just spent the last hour on their website trying to look up an oil filter I kept getting post wanting me to take a survey and I couldn't get rid of it so I finally just put in some phone number and clicked it sorry whoever got that survey. thinking they must have an oil filter of some kind that would fit my motorcycle I went by their store nearby. they had a dozen of the oil filters there that I was looking for yet when I did a search with the p/n they kept showing zero I believe I could have picked up at a tire walked out of the place and nobody would have said a word to me everybody was busy doing something but not waiting on their customers I actually found an oil filter wrench that I just bought at Walmart for $4.44 Pep Boys wanted 9.99 for the same wrench do you think I'll ever go back and waste my time with these people again.

If I could this company NO STARS I would. I have been taking my vehicle to my dealership for almost 2 years to get an oil change. After, relocating and dealing with other obligations I made the decision to take my vehicle to pep boys for an oil change. Not to mention this is a brand new vehicle with less than 50k miles. No issues prior to bringing my vehicle in to pep boys. Great, went into pep boys on 61st Western in Chicago for this oil change paying almost $100 for this service.After, oil change everything seemed to be fine for the first couple of days (48 hours -50 hours) but, I guess it was too good to be true. My check engine light comes on alongside with another indicator of oil with a status stating that the oil pressure is low- please turn off vehicle and engine power is being reduced. I have never had issues with my vehicle until after this oil change. Decided to take my vehicle to my dealership for them to look at it. Soon as I pulled in and explained my issue the mechanic and I lifted the hood and checked the dip stick and there was NO OIL on the stick. Also, there was oil on the oil pan. Mind you this a new vehicle with only 50k miles on it and has only been serviced by my dealership and this one time by pep boys. I called pep boys to speak to manager of service department and was told that instead of taking my vehicle to my dealership I should ve came there for her mechanics to look at it. I explained to her that I did not have any prior issues with my vehicle until I bought it to them. She tried to convenience me that it could be anything besides the oil changed that they did which I said there was no oil on the dip stick. She told me that there was nothing she could assist me with since it has almost been a week. I also explained to her the concerns of brining my vehicle back in to pep boys due to this issue where they will only cause more issues or charge me more money for an issue that they caused due to the improper of amount of oil put in the car or no oil put in the car. Now, I m in the process of getting my vehicle looked at with the possibility of a damaged engine on a brand new vehicle because of pep boys and hoping that a new oil change from my dealership will be on the issue with my vehicle. LIARS and INCOMPETENT is how I will describe my experience with Pep Boys. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a car repair shop. The mechanics are not ASE certified to work on your vehicle. They do not know how to read engine codes and they promise you they know what the problem is before giving a proper diagnostic test. When the problem is not solved they put a disclaimer "may or may not solve the problem'. My location is in Phoenix, Arizona - 2501 W. Van Buren. The Service Manager was Yanette, Susana. The Service Manager is Isai and the mechanic was David Lucero. I took my car into the shop due to the check engine light. Without a proper diagnostic test Service Manager Yanette misleadingly told me the code reading was a 'misfire'. She was adamant and confident it was the spark plugs and later she stated the spark plug wires should be changed. After $591.00 in service the very next day the car ran worse than when I brought it in and the check engine light came on again. AFTER ONE DAY. When I returned the car I spoke to Service Advisor Susana who was very rude and defensive standing by the bad job of the mechanic. She kept saying the code is gone - well, the code is gone because I used a fuel cleaner hoping this would help the car run smoother. Susana refused to help me. I asked to speak to the Service Manager Isai. This was no better. Isai looked irritated and again behaved in the same manner as Susana. I was so upset but I remained calm. I left and then I decided to fight for what was right. Pep Boys charged me almost six hundred dollars for unnecessary work. They were misleading in the information given regarding the codes. None of the Service Advisors seemed to want to help me as the consumer. This started in March 2018 and finally in July 2018 I was begrudgingly given a $105 dollar return. The Service Advisor Isai lied and stating I never brought up the problem which is not true. I brought the car back the very next day. I have been trying to resolve this issue. I want my full refund of $591.00 dollars returned to me. I think Pep Boys are criminals who hire ineffective and unlicensed mechanics to work on consumer cars without their knowledge. I asked if the mechanic was ASE certified and could they provide documentation and Isai said they couldn't. Susana stated they could provide that information they have it on file. So Isai lied. Neither the mechanic nor Service Advisor Yanette are working at this location. They are cheats and liars. If I have to go to small claims court to receive the rest of my refund I will. I finally took my car to Firestone who replaced the intake gasket and two cyclinder coils which was the reason for the misfire. Pep Boys performed unnecessary work and mislead the customer. I want my refund.

I received service a month ago from the Collierville, TN location and my vehicle was damaged. A couple weeks after the damage was done and claim was filed I called for an update on my claim and the lady who answered (very rude) told me there s nothing she can tell me and to call corporate. Finally, 2 weeks ago a woman called and left a vmail saying she was calling in regards to my claim and to call back whenever I got the message. I ve been calling literally every day multiple times a day and she will not answer or call me back. I finally called Corporate and they transferred me to the claims supervisors named Mario Westbrook. I left a voicemail on his phone and haven t heard anything since or gotten any return phone call. I left a review on the Collierville locations page yesterday and of course I finally received another call from katilla (spellcheck) this morning but of course I missed it but called back several times already and no answer. Its been over a month and my vehicle is still not address OR repaired. And I have yet to even speak to 1 single person who can move the matter forward. I want the damage to my vehicle repaired. I have never had an experience or customer service like this. Unbelievable is an understatement! After the review I left on the Collierville location, pepboys responded with their general response and apology and told me to email them about the matter. I ve emailed AND STILL have not heard anything.

Not only is their ordering online process not user friendly, their customer service agents are completely powerless to assist in fixing problems. Try calling the corporate number, good luck... there's no contact to the company via this number for consumers - a VERY poor business model to go by. This will be my first, and last time doing business with a company like this. Absolutely terrible.

Several attempts to talk to kevin. No return call from him. Finally i called surprisingly he was the one to answer the phone. I went to a Pep Boys in Philadelphia for a loose front panel to be reattached to my car. When it was time to leave , I was given a duplicate key with the buttons missing.

The Assistant Service manager stated the key fell on the ground and the rubber membranes fell out. He said that a "front cover" would be ordered from Amazon and refused to replace the key. I asked to see the "membranes" that had fallen out of the key. He said that they could not be found.

I filed a police report with the location of the Pep Boys and description of the incidence. I had to to contact a locksmith to give me a new key. The total cost was $200.00. I am requesting full reimbursement for this key.

I m not a happy customer bad experience I had bought a battery from this company within a year or a little less. I have been having bad experience with the battery about a week I ll sell have to be getting a jump pretty much every other day sometimes twice within a day finally I have some time to come over and explain that I will need to exchange the battery. They took the battery somewhere to the back and came back to me and tell me that the battery is good that the battery has to show that it has bad cells it will fail the test I told him I charge the battery by driving the vehicle to them and me removing the battery the battery will be fully charged at the moment their response was their policy is if the battery is good cannot be replaced or exchange that does not make sense to me they just did a simple test. A test that anyone can do I also work for a repair shop at service department dealership when I have a customer with a bad battery on their vehicle I will tell the tech Mutual times because if my customer comes and tells me that they ve been jumping their battery many times they have to be a problem somewhere either the vehicle is creating the problem or the battery is really not good and at the end we find out that it is the battery this will go even further up to corporate I m not finished yet...

I really do not recommend to anyone Not after this experience. And the way they treat you there it s like they look at you open down like if they re not happy where they work at if they re not happy where they work at they should not have people working there

VERY DISSATISFIED Went to pep boys on murtland Ave in washington pa.. Got quoted a price for tires shocks and alignment. Got tires and shocks price was higher. They broke 3 out of 4 of my hubcaps centers and refused to pay for them. And now my car is leaking.. Also charged me for emissions when I've traveled less that 5000 miles since last April.. I've had Pep Boys fix my A/C 4 times - once last year and 3 times in one month (May-June 2017). The first time it was repaired, it lasted one year. The second time I got stranded in another state and come to find out that the belts were never changed out and I could have gotten stranded on the highway. The 3rd time was exactly one week after the 2nd repair took place. Now my car is currently at the Pep Boys located in Tucson, AZ and I have yet to get a call with an update - dropped it off on Sunday 6/25 and it is now Thursday 6/29.... No courtesy calls and when I call I get the run around. I paid for labor warranty and the part has a warranty, where is the customer service. They better not try to charge me for the $94 recovery/recharge.... In addition to this, we've left 3 messages with the corporate office because the 2nd repair costed us $624 and it should have been taken care of because of their mess up with the belts. Have we gotten called yet? NOPE!! Such bad customer service - their customers don't seem to be priority. I wish I could take my car somewhere else but the part warranty and labor warranty fees should leave me paying $0 for repairs. I hope someone monitors these reviews so we can get some answers. PS - I've had no transportation to work for a WHOLE WEEK!!!!!

Tallahassee branch installed new alternator, belt, battery, tires on my Volvo for unable to get to the dealership on a weekend battery alert. $2500 later - work done. A few days later hear squeal of the belt. Pep boys told me my tension spring required replacing now and would cost me close to another $900. They did not have the part but Volvo did and was able to get me in. Volvo popped the hood, handed me back the keys and said the new belt just installed days prior was worn and frayed on one side improperly installed and this was NOT my tension spring (Volvo dealership was even less money to install - hmmm...). Called 1800PEPBOYS for tow to avoid belt pop en route to Pepboys to reinstall belt PROPERLY. 90-minute wait quoted. An hour into wait I checked on progress and was told no tow truck was en route for fax not received. Drove to Pepboys risking belt failure and stranding. Pepboys NEVER admitted improper install, nor the OBVIOUS fault on their part. Within a few hours, new belt installed after they had the vehicle over eight hours the day prior LYING to me to tell me tension spring. POINT: It was OBVIOUS it was the BELT SQUEALING but they were willing to rip me off for work I did NOT NEED! Manager Delvin was defensive until I made it clear to him this was unacceptable how I was being treated when the fault was theirs. Tony or Tyler? at the desk was very kind as were the mechanics but this is unacceptable to have been LIED TO to make more money off of me.

The lack of good customer, service from two different locations in Ocala, FL., has also been a deciding factor to go elsewhere for my next set of tires. This was my first time using this company. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Had my car towed there because it died on the side of the road. 2 hours later they call saying the fuel pump was bad and it was going to cost $1200! After talking to other people i found out just how much of a rip off that was. Other local shops were pricing it in the $600 range. So i went and had it towed from there to somewhere else. The customer service they provided was beyond rude. They made me wait over 30 minutes to get my car when employees were standing around laughing and playing on their phones. They were not busy at the time and i was the only customer there at this particular time of day. They also charged me $99 to get my keys back claiming they ran some sort of test on the car but wouldn t show me the test they ran. Finally i get my car on the tow truck and we drop it off at another shop. The shop just called me and all that was wrong with my car was it was out of gas. That s right it was out of gas and pep boys wanted to charge me $1200 for a part that wasn t even broken. I wouldn t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Pep boys Westminster CA the worst customer service especially the manager of the service department very lazy I was a service advisor at pep boys for 4 years taking care of customer was most important thing not for these guys it's obvious they are just there to collect a paycheck . I just spent 900 dollars having the complete front end rebuilt at a buddies shop. I watched and it Was computer aligned. I stopped at the store in augusta, ga on gordon.
