pep boys is total garbage!!!! I purchased brand new tires from them in May 2020, the car has hardly been driven, got in the car to drive the tire was on flat. inflated the tire and took it back to them because I purchased the road hazard. The manager their sesy refused to honor the warranty. I called the police to report a theft and of course they advised that it is a civil matter. I owe it to myself to take this matter through the legal system just because of the blatant disregard i got from the store located in Arlington, TX on Collins street.

Pep boys allowed my car to get stolen off their lot in Newark, DE and they never tried to rectify the situation. My family is a long-time customer. Myself and my family will never patronize Pep Boys again.
Since June of 2020 till 12/12/20 I have been in pursuit of obtaining a replacement for a battery warranty unbelievable customer support why would anyone consider being a pepboys customer
I bought a cheap starter from Pep Boys, thing fell apart in 5 days, damaged my vechicle. made a complaint to corprate, their answer is to have the origanl store manager I had problems with call and harass me. I gave up finding a person who is above regional manager, corporate will not respond with out a lawsuit. Do not do and business with pep boys in the future, you will be on your own the minute you walk thought their doors. A junk yard would be a better choice than pep boys. I will be filing a claim in court, and will no longer do any business with this company. No wonder they have to worst review rating than any other car parts company. Again you will get cheap parts that will damage you vehicle and you will be stuck with the bill, with no hope of resolving any issue, since their corporate doesn't take costumer complaints, unless you sue them.
Bad experiences, I have appointment with them at 11h30pm than when I was there the need to leave the car there for all day just only for change oil and its Saturday so I gonna take my car tell Monday so its take 2 days only for oil change .
Wow look at all the negative reviews. They obviously don't care anymore or they would get this under control. Even when you call in the complaint, they are either unwilling or powerless to fix. They apologize and are nice about it but nothing changes. How sad for the good people in the company that works for such poor leadership. Definitely do not believe in the Rewards program. They do everything they can to screw you out of the Reward. Time for this company to give away.
I need help on my 1972 ford truck in Anaheim ca on beach and linclon has been held and not fixed for over 10 days and you have a unfriendly help line. And everytme I call up they give me the run around and not fixed or replace the electric fuel pump and found me a full set of tires. They tell they call with a quote and it never happens... but will charge excessive prices with no repairs over $4000.00 and can't adjust a carburetor. I need help if you refuse to help me then I feel your a part of this bad service.
My passenger side wheel bearing went out on my 93 300zx and I wasn t able to drive it so I brought the hub to pepboys in Kissimmee to see if they can press a bearing in for me and they said yes. So $50 was spent to press the bearing in and when I got it back 2 days later I come to find out the entire hub assembly wasn t sitting properly at all, their technicians installed my ABS tone ring and seals upside down and pressed the bearings halfway in and also damaged my spline and my ABS tone ring so I ended up spending $683 at a different shop to have them fix Pepboys in Kissimmee mistakes or carelessness. You guys have one the worst technicians I ve done business with hands down.
Tech gives incorrect information to warranty company, and I have been at Orange Park location 5 1/2 he. Feel like I am being held hostage!!! Will never take my vehicle to Pep Boys again.
They really need to stop hiring these Hillbilly red necks in Bradenton,FL very disrespectful for no apparent reason I don t disrespect my elders so Billy At the Cortez location is very rude to customers and his managers the manager wouldn t let me fill out a formal complaint he wanted to write it on paper and keep preferring I don t call corporate that he ll just have a chat with him I will never return and I ve told my my friends and family in the area on Facebook don t what s so sad over 100 people agreed and had their horrific stories about them to share as well
I first took my truck in to the pep boys in robertsdale al on 11-25-18, for alignment and tire rotation and balance. I had just had all control arms replaced by a reputable mechanic on Saturday the 24th. Truck had slight pull to the right. They had my truck on the rack 4 times that day. I pick up my vehicle and drive it home. I did not go anywhere for a few days, when I did return to the road, my truck had a bad vibration that would come and go coming from the passenger side. I returned my Fj to the pep boys in Robertsdale and left it again on Saturday 12-1-18. When I picked it up they said I had slung a wheel weight and replaced it for no charge. I again went home and did not drive my truck again till Tuesday. It still had same vibration and a hard pull to the left. I had my brother come and drive it at which time he returned it to the pep boys location and they made a third appointment for Friday 12-7-18 at 11 a.m. I then called the 1-800 number to file a complaint and to get a refund. I was told the area director would be calling me. He did not, the store manager did. I agreed to return my truck there on Friday and give them one more chance. Bad mistake . The store manager called to tell me the driver side c axle was busted. I had been all under the truck Friday morning, my brother and I had been under it the previous Wednesday, pep boys had been under it twice and had not found this nor the mechanic on the Saturday of 11-24 had seen it. I had just replaced 90% of the front end 11 months ago at 3400$. They did refund the cost of the alignment, someone from corporate called to inform me that the director would be calling, the store manager called. I told him I wanted to speak with director. Director has since called and left a very rude message. They or something they did caused the damage to the CV axle. They have been extremely defensive since this occurred. Do not use pep boys in robertsdale unless you have money for repairs and a lawyer. Case Id 616840. Glen Mike Rowe is the area director.
Took my car in for an oil change and they filled my oil up too much which then my car Dealership Subarbu noticed and notified me. I then had to pay Subarbu for an oil change because the mechanic didn't fully do his job. I brought in receipts and all they did was offer me a free oil change, no thanks. I'm no longer interested in your service and I should've waited for my mechanics availability to open rather than stop in.
I took my car to get the alternator replaced 3onths ago at Pep Boys in Willow Grove PA 3 months ago when I broke down in middle of the road, 6 months after had alternator was installed there with a warranty and waited over 3 hours for Pep Boys towing on a very hot humid day. They did charge me $222 to tell me I had to get a new battery so they can test alternator (which they could have tested alternator with a machine). Then as I'm driving to the bank that my work uses the other day, with a bank deposit, the car died on me again!! Ater alternator went AGAIN so even though under warranty at Pep Boys, I took it to my mechanic so that it is fixed properly as I don't want to break down in 3 more months in dead of winter. It cost me $280 at my mechanic but I know it is fixed properly!! Also Pep Boys tried to tell me needed oil change as there was no oil in car which I declined to get for $80 more, but I checked the oil when i picked up the car and oil was fine, not bone dry like they said!! I will NEVER again go to Pep Boys as according to my mechanic the alternator was not even replaced 3 months ago!!! Pep Boys is the absolute worst!!! I would advise everyone not to use Pep Boys!!!
all the lights came on and the car stop. we have a service contact where we bought the car, so the tower truck took it to pep boy's. they said it was the battery and gave us a new one for a 159.59. driven home and on a main street the lights when out and i was lucky enough driving on the side off the road to pull in to home deport. we wre almost hit by two other cars. the pep boy on the north side of town was call this moring by my son and the manager was no help. i call corp office and they were no help. what a horrible company. i am telling my friends so they don't go there.
So let me start how I have been going to pep boys in greensburg pa for years I buy all my tools and car parts from here and have spent thousands of dollars at pep boys. I always bought my tires somewhere else because of the price but I decided I would buy my tires because they were having a sell buy 3 get 1 free. So I bought in and bought some cooper tires in September of 2016 first off even with the sell I still spent $900. I told them I wanted an alignment and they said oh we forgot. Do you want us to take it back in and do it it ll take about an hour after I waited for almost 3 hours. So I took it somewhere else to have my car aligned. Then in April of 2017 all 4 of my tires were already worn. I do not drive 90 miles per hour or go out doing burnouts like the guy at the counter insisted but my front tires were way worse than the back even though all 4 were already bad I told the guy I think there is something wrong with the front end he said they would look at it. He told me it was my alignment. I was actually pretty excited because they were able to find out why my tires were worn and they were going to give me 50% off and prorate it. I finally got my car back with new tires and the alignment done. I looked at the bill and it was almost $800. There was also 5 charges I was not aware of he said that they stripped one of my wheel studs so had to replace the lug nuts because they couldn t match the socket that I have so now I have 2 different sockets. Then in October of 2017 wouldn t ya know it I have a chord showing through on my front passenger side tire. When it s time for inspection so I took it to another garage and the guy said whoever did your alignment royally messed this up. I took it to pep boys for an appointment I made at 3:00 for the new tires again! I showed up early because I always do no one even came to the counter until 3:15 he said he had to review my car to see how to charge me. He then told me they can prorate the tires again and for my bad experience he will give me 50% off.. again! He told me my bill was going to be $274 for 2 tires. How is 50% off still $134 a piece?!?!? So whatever just fix it and I won t be back! Then I asked him what time will my car be done I m going to go to a near by store and wait. He said oh it ll be done by 4:00 but give us till 4:15 just in case. I came back at 4:30 my car was sitting outside so I went to check out the new tires. My car was never touched! I then walked in and once he saw me come in he said oh I apologize we re pulling it in now. Next thing you know it is 5:30 when my car is coming out of the garage!!! I will not be going back. Especially seeing these reviews and knowing I m not the only one. If I could give you guys 0 stars I would!!!!!
Correct me if I am wrong but the hours listed at your 3305 Harwood Rd, Bedford, TX 76021 location are 7:30am-8pm. If this is true please tell me why we were told at 6:25 for an inspection " it's going to be a while and I'm about to leave, come back first thing in the morning". I leave for work before 7:30 and it is a struggle get to Pep Boys before 6 so........ Could this be a factor for the volume of 1 stars? Don't be a solid product destroyed by poor talent.
P.S. If you truly care please do not automatic response yet another very valid concern.
I did a little traveling and my car stalled on me so I had my car towed to Pepboys near Saraland, AL. They informed me that it was my fuel pump so I paid $827.07 to get it fixed, picked my car up a few days later to head back home and my car stalled again. Took it to another Pepboys in Atlanta(where I live) and the car stalled on the technician and I. I was then informed by this technician that I needed to have my car taken to the dealership. Once I got to the dealership they told me the issue was my fuel pump, told me the one that was put on was not outputting enough PSI and that I needed to replace it AGAIN. I called Pepboys and they basically told me I needed to take the part back to Saraland, AL in order to get my money back. Saraland is 5 hours away and this was not an issue I asked for. I now have to go on a road trip to return a part that didn't fix the issue. This has to be worst customer service experience I have ever encountered.
Pepboys of Carteret NJ. Absolutely disappointed. I went Sunday 5/19 to get AC checked out since it wasn t blowing hot air. Dropped off at 1pm. It was 6pm when I walked back to Pepboys to get car back since I hadn t received a call. I walk in and car had not been checked. Vladimir then takes car and has it diagnosed. Tells me it s emissions. Come back Tuesday at 6p . I come back Tuesday 5/21 but arrived late due to traffic. Since it was 7 by the time I arrived they said they didn t have time to fix issue but to return Friday 5/24 at 1pm. I told Vladimir I worked but that I would have my brother drop off the car for me. My brother shows promptly at 1pm. It was 7pm and I still hadn t received a call. I call at 7:11pm and am left on hold. Vladimir left at 6pm. My car wasn t checked or fixed... I then speak to Tyler who tries to rectify the situation. He tells me he will call me back In 20 minutes. He calls me in less than 20 minutes to tell me that in order to fix the situation they need the car for more than 30 minutes...... mind you- car was there since 1pm! I cannot blame Tyler because he tried to help by fixing it the next day but that would mean leaving my car overnight and not having a way to get to or from work Saturday. I am extremely frustrated since, as I expressed SEVERAL TIMES, the coming days were to be very hot and I didn t want to be stuck in any Memorial Day traffic in a hot car. I ve been coming here for years to do my oil change. I will never come back. And had it just been a dispute about something minor, I wouldn t have written a review. However, I was there THREE times this week, to fix an AC SENSOR and have left my car there TWICE for 6+ hours and the only time it s been checked on is when I call or walk in and the car all of a sudden needs to be diagnosed again. A repair order was never even written up for me ANY of the times that I have walked in since Sunday. Diagnoses just being done with no paper trail. Seems suspicious but OKAY. Was it the fact that I am a woman that they feel it s OK to brush off repairs for my car? Or the fact that I m Hispanic that I received basically NO HELP in getting this job done.
I recently got 4 brand new tires and my tire sensors were damaged. All I heard were excuses on why they were not replaced promptly. 3 days and no resolutions. Tried calling corporate and their phone system is not set up to allow for anyone to speak to a live person. No communication to me about what is going on, I always have to call first and when a appointment was made I drove almost an hours just for them to tell me they don't even know if the sensors were ordered. Terrible Will not recommend their service to anyone going forward.
Went in to the Pep Boys in Lake Worth, Texas yesterday for a diagnostic test, after I made an appointment online for 9am. The guy at the counter was by himself and he was crazy busy. Told the guy at the counter that I definitely needed my brake lights looked at because there was a short somewhere. They never came to update me on anything; I had to go several times just to see for myself what was going on. I was concerned with how long it was talking; by then I'd been there over 4 hours! At 1pm, I told him I needed to go get my daughter from school at 3:30 and he had the audacity to tell me, "we haven't found the problem yet, so I guess we'll just put your car back together then." I was not a happy camper! I guess he heard me complaining to other customers about the long wait, so the guy came into the waiting area to tell me that they finally found the issue and it'll be just another 30 minutes or so to fix it, telling me what they found and trying to calm me down. By the time I left there, 5 1/2 hours later, they had charged me $158.99 to repair a wire and do an electrical component eval. To top it all off, he tried to tell me I needed to replace my power steering pressure hose with an estimated cost of over $300.00! No thank you! I WON'T be back!!
My dad took his truck in today to the Pep Boys in Dothan, Alabama, to have a compressor replaced for the air conditioner. At 9:00 a.m. the manager, Mason, said the truck would be ready by lunch, but that he would call and keep him updated on the progress. We went back to the store around 3:00 p.m. after Mason failed to call with any updates. Mason then stated that they had ordered the wrong part and had to reorder. He apologized and said he would call when it was ready. We didn t get another call until after 6:00 p.m. And Mason, that was supposed to keep us updated, never once called and left, leaving a mechanic to call to tell my dad his truck was FINALLY finished. Not that it matters or will cause any impact, but we will not be returning. The manager is spineless and has no idea how to deal with customers. It s no wonder Pep Boys has such a poor rating.
Pep-Boys store employees for store #1710 are liars! We did some repair work for a mutual customer December 26, 2019. We have been waiting on a check since then! I have talked to the Assistant Manager several times, as the manager will not communicate with me. I have now called Corporate three times and I have yet to receive the payment that was promised by the manager at store # 1710 in Kennesaw GA. Stay away from Pep-Boys people!! Only reason that i gave them one star was because I had to give a star in order to post this review.....
OVERCHARGED FOR WORK THAT DIDNT NEED TO BE DONE....DISHONORABLE PRACTICE AT PEPBOYS LOCATED IN WILMINGTON DELAWARE TALLEYVILLE STORE....I WILL CONTINUE TO WRITE REVIEWS UNTIL I AM SATISFIED ON A CORPORATE LEVEL AND I INTEND ON CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU
Thought I was taking my car to a reputable company to change a tire. I dropped it off at 12:57:28 on 7/18 per my receipt my service number is 2259674. Its 11:16 7/20 and my tow truck will be here at 11:20 to tow my vehicle to the dealer. I am thoroughly disgusted with pep boys and their unprofessionalism and leaving me inconvenienced for two days and my car is still not repaired.
Fair warning. If your claim is being handled by Brenda Bey, she is extremely rude and disrespectful over the phone. Pep Boys #1720 destroyed my wheels with their metal duck head on January 7th. It is now Feb. 13th and my wheels still have not been repaired or replaced by them. She has made me responsible for figuring out pricing when in fact it should have been the store s responsibility in the first place. I wasn t notified within the time frame the store told me I would be. It has been over a month and they have done absolutely nothing.
I went to the Pepboys in Birmingham, AL in April of this year for a complete set of tires, etc., there also was an offer for a $120 gift card from Pepboys Rebate Center. I had to miss another day off work because the day of my appointment they discovered that staff had forgotten to order my tires. I have also been calling the rebate center since August and cant get an honest answer about my gift card. I understand we are in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic but its nearly November and I'm receiving the same lies from different Supervisors and they're stating that they can't locate the notes in the system from prior conversations. Everyone tells me it's being printed and should be mailed out in 4-5 weeks. They say there is no complaint center and when I request to speak with someone above them the call is disconnected.
I had a bad experience with the location on 69th at & Socttsdale Rd the manager that sold me 2 tires & gave me an oil change 2 1/2 months ago 2 days ago 1 tire had a bubble in it and the other tire would not hold the air , I took my car back to be serviced I left in hopes the manager on duty would fix or replace my tires and call me when was finished , 4 hours later there was still no call. So i went back and the manager said I wasn't in the system and the manager that sold me the tires was fired because of theft , which I feel wasn't something you should tell a customer plus that isn't my fault why was I being held responsible for that he used that as a reason not to help me and was very rude , unprofessional i ask him for a card he didn't have one i request he call corporate he said he didn't have there number , really could this be happening I was so stressed over this and upset all I wanted at the time was my tire fixed and a partial refund on the other tire so I wasted almost my entire day dealing with this , the next day I had to by 2 tire from another place , I filed a complaint with corporate and they referred me to another manager at the same location and I received my refund , I'm giving 4 star rating for corporate because they respond to me via email in a curtious and timely manner , once I went to that location and spoke with the manager corporate referred me to Gale she was giving me a hard time and wasn't going to refund me she only offered me $25 , then $50 I had to debate with her when I feel she should of been instructed to give me a full refund and not give me s hard time again i already went through enough stress and lost time over this . I did finally receive a full refund but it shouldn't have been so difficult , now I will never go to another pep boys and I will tell my family and friends , if only there managers were as courteous as there corporate office. I'm disappointed because they are my neighborhood pep boys and the manager that got fired was very curtious he paid for a Lfyt to take me home , I was telling everyone how excellent of an experience I had , why couldn't the manager that replaced him be that , I hope moving forward he treats all customers fair and curtious.
This company sucks. They don't have long to survive it looks like to me with all of the one stars. They overcharge and automatically tack on $90 for an extended warranty for labor. You only get a 90 day warrenty on labor. They don't ask if you want it or not. Bad news.
Made appointment for oil change at 1030am for June 30 2020. Arrived at the forest ave store in Staten Island New York and told there are 7 cars ahead of me. I said to the manger I had a appointment and would have to wait. At 1200 asked the guy how many cars are ahead of me said one and I told him I have another appointment at130. At 1245 I see them take another car into the bay to work on and I go to the desk. I asked if I could come back after my appointment and still have to wait he said yes it s first come first serve. So I said way do appointments if you don t honor them and take them on first come first serve rule. I call your 1800 number your customer service rep said that s on true that appointments have priority over walk ins. So someone is not telling the truth here. I love going to your store to get products but after today I am really turned off to your company
Seems like they have serious issue with resource management. I will be making a complaint to BBB soon. They complaint management / customer relation is useless.
Omg where do i start? I got tire put on and my lugs were not put on correctly so three out of the 5 broke off while me and my wife and daughter were driving down the interstate. I had to call MY. Roadside assistance to tow my car to the closest tire shop which was miles away so i had to pay extra to get it there. Mind you it was late by this time and we were out of town and the tire shop we sent it to was closed. The nearest pep boys was 72 miles away. We had to stay in a hotel for two days. I kept calling corprate and got the run around. I called the store and spoke to a manager and got the run around.
Went to my local PepBoys. Picked up a couple of items and asked an employee a simple question. One didn't know the answer, the second person gave me the wrong information, and the third person (Jeffrey) the store manager @ store #136 was the worst of all. No greeting or "can I help you " just a rude, offensive glare. He was very curt and unpleasant and even combative in my opinion, so smuggly offputting that I returned my items to the cashier (Kim) who was wonderful by the way. She apologized and made me feel better. She's a keeper, that's good customer service. Anyway, I returned the items because I don't want to spend money at a store that treats people poorly. It troubled me because I've been shopping here for twenty years. I don't want to shop at PepBoys ever again!
I took my 2004 Ford expedition on Sunday to get serviced it took 3 days for them to diagnose what was wrong (fuel pump). Cost me 900 and less than two weeks later my vehicle wouldn't turn over. Had it towed to another pep boys location and was told 3 days after the tow that it was a bad fuel pump. I'm tired of being disrespected and losing money. My truck has been sitting in the same spot on the lot for 3 days and yet the problem hasn't been fixed and I feel like because I'm a female they are looking for ways to screw me over.
I ve been on hold for over an hr now, have called twice and both times it said my wait time was less then 5min. This is unexpectable, will no longer do business with them. Another thing that is very frustrating is that they are now only service based and can t access retail transactions, meaning I hope you held on to any old recites you had or you be stuck on the phone like I am. Very poor customer service.
I had to choose one star they dont even deserve this. I went to a local Store in PA to have TPMS installed on tire. I asked them to install cabin filter and I asked them to not damage my dash. The filter goes behind the glove box. Well they did not damage the dash they broke the glove box. They also cross threaded my lugs. Well I got a quote for the glove box replacement from dealer and submitted to local store who sent it to their claims department I received an email from their adjuster which never answers her phone I must have called 10 times and left several messages and she has not called me back once. I also emailed and nothing. I called corporate to say enough is enough he tried calling her and he also got her voice mail. This was last Thursday. A week later I have heard nothing. So if you want your car damaged please go to Pep boys. I'm still waiting for them to make good on the damage and the stress they are causing me. And this goes back to February
Your Vendor for rebates and debit cards is not working and not honoring the rebates that Pep Boys is offering. "myprepaid.info" and "managemycard.com" is withholding money and stealing from PepBoys and it's customers.
In our opinion when it comes to being untruthful about your product and service you really take the cake hands down. Also in our opinion if you were to ever tell the truth you would cease being Pepboys, because it would actually mean that somebody else bought you out. Based on our experience Do not trust these people with tires, alignments, or anything automotive. And that also means do not trust them to air up your tires either. And thank you for your canned response. But an ongoing complaint with the Oklahoma Attorney Generals Office Consumer Protection has already been filed against you Pepboys and the BBB by me and my husband. We know just how much your canned apology response means to you.
Took the car in for a gasoline smell and turned out to be the engine leaking oil to the muffler and exhaust. Got it back and noticed a small drip of oil under the car. Took it back and kept it another day and was told it was the old oil. Next morning four drips of oil under the car. Made it worse. Pep Boys has gone down hill. Absolutely terrible!
On 06/07/2019 @ 7:52pm about 8 minutes before the store was closing. I drove into the service department of the Pep Boys located at 8103 Marbach Road, San Antonio, Texas, Store No 0737 with an absolute flat tire. A fellow by the name of William Jones a Customer Service Adviser inspected the tire and showed me that the tire was beyond repair. Instead of saying well were closing at 8:00pm he immediately had one of the service persons jump right on installing a brand new tire without hesitation. Had it not been for him and Christopher the tire installer I would have been forced into either riding flat or waiting for over an hour for roadside assistance. Because all the other tire shops were already closed like for example, Discount Tire, Firestone, and all the other mom and pop tire repair shops. This is a fine example of what customer service is instead of excuses or were closed. I am very pleased to have taken my business to this Pep Boys.
On 10-1-2017 I went to pep boys # 0061 in Statford NJ to purchase4 tires and front breaks. Mike Zamagani recommended that I get the rear breaks done. Mileage on my car was about 82,000 miles. so I get them done.On 1-4-2018 I went to Barlows in Woodbury to get a oil change service which includes checking my breaks. The front breaks read 7 mm the rear breaks read 4 mm, 4mm is the same as 6 months ago. Order # 2164495
I took my truck in for repair in Absecon New Jersey for repair. I had tie rod and bushing work. I was to be first on lift the next day. I go in at around 3pm and it was on the lift I asked what happened I was told that they were sent the wrong part and I had to wait 30min to an hour. Four hours later I watch the mechinic pull back in after a test drive stating that he heard a clicking noise. They work on it some more and give it to me im good to go they said. I get in the truck and didnt make it out the drive way and its clicking four visits later it was still clicking. I left it over the holiday. And they said oh the breaks were adjusted that was the problem. Now my break pad on one side are digging into tge the routers and the stering wheel is shaking like crazy. Plus I got a lil attitude from the service guy. I just walked out broke out 800 bucks and my truck still has problems. Don't know how im gone even get it looked at now.
I don't know where to begin... I purchased brand new tires (Continental) from the Pep Boys location in Paterson, NJ back in Dec 2017. I drove off to only find my car shaking as it accelerates to 50mph.. Called the location I purchased/installed them, I was told to come in they will check it out. I did, they told me that they put my tires on wrong. What that means is that tires for Acura vehicles go on a specific way. Tires are label, outside/inside. Anyway, they said this would fix the shaking issue.. I drove off got on the highway, and it shakes, again! Fast forward to it now being 6 months of me going back and fourth with them and not finding the issue, my front tire pops as I drive on the highway. Almost had an accident, I go BACK to pep boys for them to haggle me and try to get money out of me over tires I been having an issue with from day one....after arguing, they replace my popped tire. Said they did a wheel alignment and balance that I should be good....i drove off, again on the highway.. My car shakes and steering wheel goes to the left....i immediately call pep boys and speak to Solomon (who originally sold me the tires, and kept on tell in b me everything is fine with my tires) and told him my car is shaking and going to the left what did they do... He said AGAIN bring it in and they check it out... At this point I refused to keep going back and fourth to a shop that not only didn't know what they were doing but bills you for things they never ACTUALLY did on your vehicle. Now, I had to go to second shop to see why are the tires making my car shake... Sure as hell, this shop figures it out that 3 tires (remember 1 popped and was replaced) were defective tires and had bubbles all around the front.... The shop marked the tires with chalk and allowed me to feel the air bubbles myself that explained all this... Then the 2nd shop checked my alignment (which was never done by pep boys) that was in the red.. They provided copy of my before and after alignment... I went back to pep boys to show what was discovered THE SAME DAY and demanded I get the tires replaced. Once again, after having to argue with them... They replaced my tires with good year ones which were cheaper then what I originally paid....now due to months of back and fourth the shaking caused my axel to crack from the weight and vehicle being driven with all the shaking. Pep boys cost my 932$ for defective Continental tires, that got replaced with 630$ Good year ones, 847$ axel repair. Oh, BTW... My Acura has a tire lock key, which pep boys broke while changing my tires and denied they did when they were the only ones that changed my tires. Had to buy a new tire lock, 50$. Fast forward to the latest and great pending issue today. I didnt learn my lesson the first time to NEVER buy anything from pep boys or deal with them, I go purchase a AC compressor (after market) for my acura rdx April, 2019... My mechanic installed the compressor that turned out to be defective ALSO as it continued to drain my car battery while the car was turned off overnight. I called the pep boys I purchased it from (Hackensack NJ) and told them what happened. The manager told me to bring the defective one in and they will give me a replacement... Now may I remind you NO ONE told me that pep boys was FULLY aware that these after market AC compressors are giving issues to vechles like mine and are not working.... Well, my mechanic installs the 2nd replacement compressor and fills it with freon, as he has it running for a few minutes so the new freon can run thru the system.... My vehicle dash system says " check engine (with codes) and VSA system failure"!!!!!! The REFURBISHED AC COMPRESSOR has done some damage to my vehicle that it is effectingtthe turbo boost in my car that won't accelerate as it did only 3 hours prior to installing the compressor.... I'm awaiting on how much it's going to cost me to fix!!!! I have all paperwork on what has transpired PEP BOYS IS GARBAGE... I WILL BE REACHING OUT TO CORPORATE AS THEY WILL HAVE TO MAKE WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR AND STILL IS RIGHT!
In July of 2014 I needed new tires and the local Pep Boys were the only ones that had them in stock and ready to install. I should have waited for the dealership! After sitting and waiting for 2 hours I was finally able to go, I went down the road to meet my husband and he noticed that the rims were severely scratched and damaged. We took the car back and the "manager" said there was nothing he could do about it and that they were like that when I brought it in, but just before they took the car I had taken pictures of ALL 4 rims and not one bit of damage. After they put the tires on my tire pressure light kept coming on and has not worked properly since then. Just recently I went to a different store to get the tires rotated and they told me I needed 4 new tires after one year and refused to rotate them unless I bought the 4 new tires for $600 (I paid $980 the year before). I had to take my car to another shop and pay to get them rotated and then found out that the tires the original store put on my car were 2 years old when they sold them to me! I filed a case the first time and was told "Too bad" and filed a second case on Jul 20, 2015 and was told I would hear from someone within 48 hours, but NOTHING!!! I truly dislike Pep Boys and will NEVER do business or recommend anyone to do business with them EVER!! (By the way the Tire pressure sensor STILL doesn't work properly) STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
They have had my vehicle for almost a week and never ordered a part needed to fix it. Got ahold of the dealership they work with and they said no PO in system. When Pep boys finally called back, they said their entire crew quit and walked out, which is why my car hasn't been finished. Beyond upset and with a vehicle I hadn't driven less than 24 hrs before there was a mechanical problem. The night manager called back and stated he is making my car a first priority but that doesn't excuse the fact no one did their job for nearly 3 days until I called back to back. At one point I called and was placed on hold for 20+ min I eventually hung up.

UPDATE: Review seen and email sent to the information given below.
july of last year i had the pep boys in Wichita work on my a.c., $900.00 later my ac worked (for a week). sent my car back in because its blowing hot air, $1,465.00 later my a.c. is fixed AGAIN and working great, last week my a.c. compressor locked up on me, the great news is, i cant take it in any where because THERE IS NO LONGER A PEP BOYS IN KANSAS!!!!!!
Very disappointed and disgusted. Went to Pep Boys on 6th Ave. Decatur, AL. We have gone before for tire repair and a full set of Cooper truck tires for one son back in November. We needed another set for younger son and went to get exact same tires. Lady was very helpful at the time. Within 6 weeks we had an issue with uneven wear and vibrations. Took it back and they proceeded to sell us on 1700$ worth of problems (bad drive shaft mainly) We left and took it to another person who told us it was the tires worn from not being aligned when they put the tires on. So I proceeded back down to Pep Boys to get it aligned and told them the issue. They called me back and said the struts were bad and dry rotted??? So it would be $750. Sooo, again I said no, and took back to another place who said nothing was wrong except it being badly out of alignment. He fixed for $89. I had the dishonesty from this group of men. Sadly, we will not ever go back for anything. This needs to be addressed. Selling people on what they do not need. Sad!!
I really need the option of negative stars here. Took car in before long road trip, asked for compete inspection, flush radiator, new fluids, and change a belt that squealed. Store failed to do their "27 pt inspection" or make recommendations that would have caught a leak before it became a $3,000 repair, lied about the location of another leak that didn't exist, charged for services (radiator flush) not rendered, and I had to go back because they never bothered to touch the belt. The area director tired to snow me on "acceptable issues given age" then just closed my case. Um, I know it's old, that's why I asked you to look at it and tell me what needed to be fixed. Had to call and have them reopen case. Some VP named Earl was supposed to contact me the week and a half before end of March...it's a week into May. They were also supposed to send instance adjusters to me "as soon as possible" at the and time (no, they never even contacted me). By "We don't quit til it's fixed" I'm guessing they really mean to add is "or until we feel like it and will then avoid you in hopes you just go away". Used PepBoys for over a decade and this is their approach?
I called pep boys and got a appointment to bring my car in at 8:30 am the next day, brought my car in and it sat there all day without being looked at. Now they are telling me that they can t look at it until the next day, I got no call from anyone to inform me of this or to even give me a estimated cost or time when the car will be done. I only got this information because I called them after waiting over 8 hours. They have spoiled my granddaughter s birthday gift from me, I will never use pep boys anymore especially the one located in Baldwin NY. They really suck, after all why would you tell someone to bring their car in at 8:30 in morning. Now I just got a call from them telling me that they can t figure out the problem so they can t fix the car. Where are the real auto mechanics, there not at Pep Boys in Baldwin NY that s for sure.
Authorised repair but told manager to call with a price first before beginning. When call was made the price was more than the car was worth. So I declined the work. Manager informed me that the tires and battery were already installed on car before the quote phonecall was made. I told them to remove the tires and battery and I would pay for diagnostic service. Nope he said battery's are non returnable and I had to pay for it. This is not fair busness practice.the mechanic could of used a battery pack to diagnose the car to let me know that it would be $5920.00 on a car that was worth $1000.00. I am calling corporate to report the Warwick Rhode Island location store and tell then of the incompetence that was shown to me in this situation.
Pepboys shouldnt even get a one star...service was terrible i asked for an alignment and i waited for a hr just so they can get to me and waited an additional 30 minutes. Rude customer service they kept on ignoring me and my car they didnt even look at it charged me 100 and saw they dodnt fix it at all so they charged me 20just for doing nothing. Went to brake masters next door they helped me better than pepboys. Never again i advice anyone not to go. Ever.
I bought a warranty on Michelin tires to cover street damage. I returned to Pep Boys S. Phila today to replace a tire. I was told it would be free and wait in the waiting area Should be ready in 45 minutes. 90.minutes.later I returned to service desk to see if car was ready. I was told the tire was not in stock!! No.one checked when I handed them the keys. I was told a tire would come shortly and it would be ready after 12. At 4 pm I Still did not
have the tire on I was told the transmission fluid should be replaced at 60,000 miles. I asked how much and was told $200. I said it was over priced so they offered $160. Does that mean I was a sucker at $200 if I said yes.
The customer service on Columbus blvd is horrible. Pep Boys ads state "we won't quit until it's fixed." Or "we don't sell. We solve!"
Pep Boys new ads should be BIG BUCKS & OUR SERVICE SUCKS!!
Prepaying through Amazon for tire install and get told they are completely unaware of my appointment, fully booked, and I have to come during the week not on the weekends... Pepboys 1820 S. Del Prado Blvd Cape Coral, FL 33990 manager J.P
I use Pep Boys on Arimongo Ave. Great customer service and the technician who works on my car for all my car needs is great.!! I have a major repair and told I would be receiving a 20% discount on labor. I do hope it comes in the mail soon Thanks for the great service your store provides.
I received a oil change upon which my oil plug came out of my car destroying my engine Pep Boys refuse to offer a real solution. Very bad customer service very bad business practices.
I paid $1171.73 to have my car fixed at Bridgewater Promenade in Bridgewater, NJ and was scammed. Do not go there!. They lied about giving me an oil change, changing my timing belt, and coolant system. They replaced nothing. I took my car to get a diagnostic test done at the dealer, and turns out they hadn't did anything of which they said they did. I'm currently trying to get a refund so that I can get my car properly fixed and there giving me a hard time. They took full advantage of me during this pandemic. I rely on my car because I'm an essential worker, and they have completely ruined it. I'm so disgusted
Sold in the last two years, the worst outfit on the planet. Why anyone goes to PepBoys, they're either uninformed or looking for problems. From causing car fires and accidents due to shoddy qualifications to selling nearly always defective parts. Hard to understand how they've stayed in business all of these years. pennsylvanians are "week kneed" for PepBoys, that's perhaps the only explanation.
All in on lawsuit. Brought vehicle in for spark plug change, and they bring it back out with a steering wheel fault. The explanation I get is "all we did was change the plugs, that doesn't have anything to do with the steering. The steering is electrical". REALLY???
Contact corporate headquarters and get hung up on with every attempt!
It took 4.5 hrs to get a brake change which lasted 2 days because it was done improperly. After losing a day of work because the brakes were completely burned and the rotar was destroyed they said they make it up to me by fixing thier mistake free of charge. By the way that "generous" offer came from the GM who was completely ok with my loss of a day of work because hes missed days. Terrible place to take your car unless you have a lot of time and patience.
Horrible customer service! I have been lied to by all levels of employees. I bought 4 brand new Kumho tires, for my work truck (rated for 70,000 miles) on July 31, 2018, and on June 6, 2019 I had a blowout on one of my tires. On Saturday, June 8 I brought my truck in and left it there so they could put on a new tire. I receive a call a couple of hours later saying they have the tire, in stock, and it will be $174. I ask if that's the prorated cost because I knew I had only put about 20,000 miles on the tire before it blew. He tells me no because I didn't purchase the road hazard warranty. I tell him they are rated for 70,000 miles, so they should still be under the manufacturer's warranty. To which he replies, while I hear him pressing random keys on the keyboard, "no there is no manufacturer's warranty".(Lie #1) I tell him not to do anything to the truck. I go to Kumho's website and sure enough the tire is covered under the manufacturer's warranty. The website gives me a chart to tell what percentage of the cost of the tire is covered. Kumho's website says my ONLY OBLIGATION is to bring the tire to an authorized Kumho Tire dealer which Pep Boys is one. So I go back to the store and ask what is the tread depth on my tire. He says he can let me know and proceeds to walk out to my truck and measure the depth. HE NEVER CHECKED IT BEFORE TELLING ME THE MANUFACTURER DIDN'T HAVE A WARRANTY. After he measures the tire he turns to me and says because I only lost 3/32nds of an inch they should cover 100% of the tire. He knew the percentage off the top of his head, but yet he didn't know about the manufacturer's warranty? Okay, 100%, finally I'm getting some satisfaction. I say, "Good, so I'll just leave it and come back when it's ready". He says, "Oh no, that's a manufacturer's warranty they have to cover it, so you'll have to take that up with Kumho".(Lie #2) I explain the whole "only obligation" thing to him and he gets his manager. The manager tells me they are going to have to ship the tire to Kumho in order for them to replace it.(Lie #3) I tell him fine do whatever you have to do. He says he'll call me on Monday or Tuesday and give me an update.(Lie #4) On Tuesday I call Kumho and they tell me, "Oh, no, they don't have to ship the tire back in order for me to get a replacement tire. Pep Boys handles the manufacturer's warranty in house". I go back Wednesday and inform the employee of my conversation with Kumho. He says I have to wait for the manager to come in to work. I ask what time will that be and he tells me he's going to call and find out. He calls the manager a couple of minutes before 10am. Manager says he'll be there in 20mins.(Lie #5) The manager arrives at 11:10am, 50 mins longer than the time I was told. The manager says Kumho has to cover it, Kumho says Pep Boys has to pay because that's how they get the tires "so cheap". Manager says he can't do anything because he can't give me a tire because he needs a "paper trail". I leave fuming. I call "customer service" and file a complaint. They tell me the area manager will call me within 3 business days.(Lie #6) This is at 12pm on Wednesday, so he has till Monday at 12pm to call me. Never calls. I call back on Monday and they escalate the complaint. Now they say the regional manager will call me in the next 24 hours.(Lie #7). Never calls. I call back today, Tuesday, which is 9 days after I brought the truck in and tell them I need this taken care of because it's for my work truck and if I get another flat I'll lose a whole day's work. The woman on the phone makes a note and says there is nothing more she could do because the area and regional manager kicked it back to the store manager, WHO CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO SOLVE MY PROBLEM. I find it absolutely dumbfounding that Pep Boys has no protocol on handling a manufacturer's warranty. So, now I will be calling Pep Boys Corporate tomorrow morning but I have zero confidence that anything will come of it. I'm 48 years old and I have never come across worse customer service than at Pep Boys.
I all most had a bad accident the day be 4 Mothers Dayn tire that were brought from pep boys blow out I was on 95 north me & my daughter the whole driver side blew GOD WAS WIT ME & MY DAUGHTER I HAVE A PRAYIN MOTHER THANK GOD IF U SEE THE TIRE U WOULDN'T THINK ILL BE TALKIN on Monday I took my car to my mechanic who has been WORKIN on my car for over 30yrs I show him the pic he couldn't believe what he was seein the first thing he said was those tires are dry rotten I had to pay for them puttin a new tire on fifty six dollars labor was they said for tires the are under warranty plus I've been tryin to get in touch with there corporate office no answer but they took my money real quick from my account very very very unhappy
I called your 2904 Concord Pike Talleyville, DE 19803 location on June 4, 2019, sometime between 9:30 am - 11:00 am to get a price for brakes for my car. It was the worst customer experience. Instead of the person the telephone asking me the year, make and model of my car to give me an exact price, he said it starts at $180. I asked him what about rotors, and he said it starts around $220. This is completely unacceptable. It is pure laziness on his part for not giving me an exact price. That is poor customer service. I wanted to bring my car back there because they put a tire on my car a few months ago. I will never go to Pep Boys again. I am quite sure you won't blink an eye at losing me as a customer because other people will continue to go, but I am quite sure there are others who feel the same way!
Scott Skurzewski and Edward Colon are thieves and have no shame in stealing from customers by unethical meansThe Sunrise Plaza location is full of liars and scam artists. Do NOT go in there. They refused to provide an authorization form for work to be completed and started unauthorized work on my car. They charged me over $1800 to get my car back (KBB of my car is >$400). After taking to another mechanic, he found all my OEM parts were replaced with aftermarket parts and work charged on Pep Boys receipt was not even done to the vehicle. Scott Skurzewski the manager and Edward Colon are thieves and have no shame in stealing from customers by unethical means. I ended up hiring an attorney to litigate the unsafe measures and stealing this establishment performed as I now have an unsafe vehicle with improper parts per two separate inspections by dealership and other mechanic. My attorney litigated with Pep Boys corporate office who was also verbally abusive. However, after 4months, Pep Boys corporate attorney agreed upon a $1000 refund with my attorney. Upon rendering my address of where to send payment, no payment was ever received. (years later). This company never planned to follow through because the fish rots from the head down and this thievery exists from a store in Florida all the way up to corporate offices. Buyer beware. Updated 3/5: The comment below from corporate saying they can help is also fake. I reached out to them and surprise surprise, zero response.
Took my truck to Pep Boys Woodbury NJ. They said l needed $800.in repairs. Went to another mechanic and said l didnt need any repairs . Also Woodbury store gave my truck a oil change and spilled oil all down the side of my engine. Went home and check dipstick and was overfilled. I had drain oil out myself. Complain to customer service and got a call from PEP BOYS Director Dave Thomas Phila PA. He said he would investigate and get back to me. Also said he would refund my money back for oil change. Well One month later and dozens phone calls and e-mails he never called . I'm trying to contact FOX NEWS FROM PHILADELPHIA PA to investigate Pep Boys . I wonder how many people are being ripped off
Very poor customer service from the service manager Andrew in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He lies to the customers about what is wrong with their car and held my vehicle for 3 days without looking at it.
Horrible experience and messed up vehicle due to a local store. We've been fighting 2 weeks to be contacted as we requested a refund and was told over 2 weeks ago that we would get a phone call and email regarding it by the next day. Called on a Friday and was told by Saturday morning. We contacted again. This past Friday and still nothing.
Last Saturday we had an emergency. My car battery died twice in 24 hours. I had made an appointment at the Lawrenceville, NJ Pep Boys for Monday, but since I drive my husband to a school district at 5am, we realized we couldn't wait.
Here's what happened: 1: Since I was clearly told that coming in on a Saturday was an inconvenience for Pep Boys, I tried to be sensitive and stay out of their way. There are two shopping centers a quarter mile walk from the store, so I got lunch, did some errands, came back. 2: I was told there were two cars in the bay in front of mine, and mine was next. However, there was no telling how long those would take. 3: Walked to another shopping center, came back 2+ hours later. 4: Was told there were two cars in the bay in front of mine, and mine was next. I took a walk, calmed down, and came back. I was upset. I was told repeatedly by my customer service rep -- Samantha -- that it was my fault for coming in on Saturday, and that they had told me it would take a long time. Jason kept saying that the 'two cars' could mean anything and that other people had made appointments and I should have waited until Monday. 5: I explained again that I was out of options, and was told, basically, too bad, you shouldn't have com here on a Saturday.
6: 6 hours later, I had a new battery. It's a 10-15 minute job, but clearly the people at Pep Boys were way more interested in teaching me a lesson than understanding my predicament. I think, in retrospect, that trying to be sensitive to their problems and staying out of the way was a mistake. Had I sat there being a pain in the ...., likely I could have gotten out sooner. The remaining representative, who checked me out, apologized. Which I very much appreciate.
There is one final note. I should not be driving at night without my night driving glasses. I didn't have them with me, because at 12:30 I didn't imagine I wouldn't get out until after dark. I got home. My husband was clearly upset and worried. I was tired and genuinely pissed off.
I am one of those who goes out of my way to thank helpful people. I often put thanks on line. This was egregious. Hurtful, and, I think, an irresponsible way to treat people. I apologize for taking my car to Pep Boys when I had no options. I should have gone anywhere else.
2.5 months later still no communication on causing over 900 in damage over an oil change. Great customer service.
Guess what? Months later again and still zero communication. I plan on telling everyone and hope that you go bankrupt because of your lack of customer service.
Call Pep boys 1 week in advance to schedule back brakes. Ask them how long it world takes which was 2 hours . I was told to book online and I did, mark that I would be waiting on it. I get there to check in and was told I would have to wait all day. I left. Don t book an appointment here because they do not care or want to keep a good reputation. I will tell all about this experience with Grassdale Pep boys.
I called customer service 3 and a 1/2 weeks ago for a problem that happened in their berlin n.j shop .. Case number 623496. I was told that it was being investigated and someone will call me back. I called 2 times during that 3 and a 1/2 weeks waiting for an update and still nobody has called me back. I guess I should just turn to social media or Channel 10 news Investigator so no body else becomes a victim. The funny thing is I have video tape of the incident
This company is horrible I made an appointment online for 10am at 6am at about 7 I got an email saying that they hate I couldn't make the appointment and then I received a phone call to say they cancelled it because it was taken and I could be a walk in. So I asked why would it let me make the appointment if it was taken and I was told I should have scheduled it a day in advance. After speaking to Grace at corporate headquarters she was no help and acted as if it was my problem not hers.
WORST COMPANY! I had to put a claim in for them breaking my transmission and they said they would call me back regarding it, never did. I called them and I was transferred to 10 separate people and counting! I'm still on the phone and just pissed off! They couldn't find my claim! I have never seen worst customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I called 1-800 Pepboys and talked to Customer Services, who connected me to Towing, who connected me to customer service, who connected me to claims, who gave me a number, who told me to contact 1-800-pepboys, so back to Customer Services, who connected me to Towing, etc. ETC> ETC!!!!!!!
My god. The whole company is god awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I could give a no star, which means the company should be wiped off the planet!
A after being ignored at the Las Vegas pep boys, I was yelled at spent several hours there to find out that I had the wrong size tires on the back of my car and the spare tire would not fit in the cradle. I was missing three items of which I was going to use as soon as I got home or I may not have even noticed they were missing. I was charged $1,075 for two wrong size tires wrong size wheels, which I heard them literally hiking up the price because I didn't get them myself. Also as soon as I found out where I was being towed, I called them to give them all the information that they needed so perhaps they could have the parts there by the time I arrived and pull me through.they would not take that information over the phone and if they had they would not have given me the wrong size tires those people are inept and rude
My car broke down 50 miles from where I live and work. Got it towed to Pep Boys in Skokie, IL. I then leave on military duty and when I got a quote that was greater than I could afford, I tell them I ll try another place upon my return. OFFERED to pay storage fee and they respectfully declined. Even told me not to worry about it. Before I return from military duty, over the holidays mind u, I get a voicemail informing me I had several days before my car was towed. I then find a tow company to secure my car while I was away. The tow company and myself spent four days trying to contact the store. No one answers the phone. I then call customer service (got a reference number) and they proceed to tell me that the store s phone s were down for four days and that there was nothing they could do about my car being towed. Guess what, my car is now impounded and the manger actually states that he doesn t know when and where it was towed and that I need to go outside and read where it was towed. The sign reads unauthorized cars will be towed. Mine was clearly authorized and towed despite having informed them I was away on orders and having assured me that my car could remain until I return. My question to corporate is, will you too tell me that it s not your problem the way your customer service line and store manager told me?
Went to pick up my car on Saturday December 9th, 2017 at the Pepboys on Delsea Dr. in New Jersey, and had to wait in the cold outside of the garage to get my keys. Employee took his good old time to give them to me. When going to get into my car, another employee got into a customer's car without wiping off the back windshield and slammed into my husband's car and broke his back bumper, trunk, and trunk lock. Management offered to pay for repairs, but then would not honor the different estimates my husband bought in, and continue blowing him off saying they are too busy to speak to him. They are in the wrong, and are refusing to help. I just had $500 of work done there, and then a negligent employee ruins my husband's car! He is a union roofer and needs a functional and working car and trunk to get to work, and to safely store his tools. You have made our lives very difficult especially during the holiday season! You should be ashamed!
Is there a 0 star option? Did the buy 3 tires, get a 4th free special they had for Black Friday. Pre paid for everything and get to the store and they tell me they wont honor it cause it was an "internet error". Go elsewhere to get car work done. I see why they're at a 1.7 star rating.
I had emergency exhaust work done in Las Vegas in 2016 (I live in California) and was told that I would have to wait 3-5 days for California compliant parts to be shipped. We waited, parts were installed then we got the hell out of there. Fast forward to now and I need a smog for my registration and it fails because my exhaust had been "tampered" with and the parts aren't California compliant. I return to my local Pep Boys where a nice gentleman tells me I have to go to the Clairemont shop to get help. They tell me, after talking my car apart, that I have to call BAR to help me!
Pep Boys sold and installed the wrong parts and now they won't fix it. I had no reason to believe that there was anything wrong with my exhaust until I got the smog and, of course, Pep Boys says it's now out of warranty...
Update 2-10-18: Went to 3rd Pep Boys location, had amazing customer service and a plan to remedy the problems. Thanks to the El Cajon Jamacha location for getting this car back on track.
Wonderful campus and office setup for PepBoys. Well lit offices. Great stretched parking. Helpful security, courteous reception and fantastic services of PepBoys for which it is known.
It literally took almost two weeks for them change rims and tires and it only got done because I called corporate! Then I paid for my tire to get changed under warranty I was charged $203.57 only to find out after payment that they charged me for someone else's work!!! I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM MY BUSINESS EVER AGAIN!
I had ordered tires in advance but the monroeville pa. Store only had 3 in stock. I wanted 4. They told me they would get the 4th tire in 48 hours and call me to set up an installation appt. Everything went as planned until I dropped off my truck for installation. Apparently they didn't have my tires and called me the next day to explain. They went above and beyond to rectify the situation and I can't say enough about Bev, Tim and the other customer service individuals who worked on my vehicle. They gave me better tires for the same price and I am surprised and delighted! I appreciate them solving the issue. I am very happy. They are so busy at that location and I have noticed that they are working hard to be nice and help everyone. Thank you!
Took my car in to get what I was, 99.9 percent, sure just a dead battery replaced, or at the very least tested. After an incredibly brief electronic diagnostics exam I was told my battery was absolutely fine. The problem, supposedly, was my TIPM, aka, power module, aka fuse box. This is a 1500+ part before labor. So the price tag came out to just over 2,000 dollars. Well, of course I chose to get a second opinion. To make a long story short, I took my car elsewhere. After they listened to what I had been told by Pepboys, this dealership was wildly skeptical, to say the very least, that the issue would have been the power module, since the symptoms my car had were more reflective of...WAIT FOR IT...a D-E-A-D, dead battery! Plus a loose and corroded starter cord. Before labor, that is roughly a 300 dollar, or so issue. 300 vs. 2,000! So of course I go through the whole process of confronting Pepboys about the issue. The manager says call corp. after trying to offer me a free oil change, (as if I'd let the people who tried to jip me the first time touch my car again). I call corporate to get the 53.00 dollars I spent back for them to "diagnose" my car. I was instructed to wait 48 business hours for someone else to call me, to try and come up with a "solution" that works best for me. So basically they can try and snake over 2,000 dollars out of my pocket, but can't cough up less than 60 when they were clearly in the wrong???
Bought new tires, was given the option of 1 year road side assistance. When to website to sign up for it, said it could not be completed. Called customer service waited 45 mins for a call back after the option to be called back instead of waiting on the phone. Person took my info and right before everything was complete, the phone hung up. So I called again, another hour wait for a call back, person again took my info and said a file would be sent to the roadside assistance people to have them figure out how to sign me up . They don t have a call back number for said roadside assistance people. I decided to call corporate... no human option kept hanging up on me. This was a service that you offered but won t let anyone sign up for it. Boo to you
Omgggg never ever ever trust your car to pep boys any where in the USA Corporate doesn t answer the phone to let you complain Huhuhu I gues that one way to get at least one measles star
Contractors beware! Pep Boys has contracted with a company called Mannie Inc. to do repairs on their buildings. This contractor is NOT paying his sub contractors. We have made attempts to contact Pep Boys Directly and to date, they have not returned our calls.
I really regret giving the Pep Boys on San Mateo a good review about the engine they installed on my truck two months ago. I have had nothing but problems with my engine ever since I left the store. The first problem was a bad exhaust leak from a bolt they forgot to put in the exhaust manifold. This made my daughter and I get slight carbon monoxide poisoning because the cab of the truck was filled with exhaust. I noticed the person that test drove my truck changed the radio station and the music was really loud when I started my truck. If he would have test drove the truck correctly he would have noticed the exhaust leak. Two weeks after that my fuel rail came undone when we where on the highway. This caused gas to leak all over the top of my engine and my truck almost blew up with my entire family in it. We had to call the NM State Police to come rescue us from freezing to death. It was 7pm and 18 degrees outside and we were far away from any towns. I took my truck in for my first oil change last week and found bolts missing and dents in my oil pan. I took my truck back and Pep Boys is refusing to accept responsibility for neglecting to inspect their work. I asked them why they didn't notice the dents in the oil pan and the manager said they just couldn't see them. I told them a real professional should notice something like that, not to mention all the other problems I had. When they informed me that they would not be fixing my oil pan problems I told them I was going to have to hire a lawyer to sue them for criminal negligence. I was kicked out of the store by the manager after I mention my lawyer. My wife has the entire conversation on video. I have contacted the corporate office and my lawyer. I am warning everyone I know about this experience. It took six weeks for them to put the engine in and they couldn't even inspect it right!
Going out of town and made an appointment at 7pm for an oil change and a tire rotation with the Portage, MI location. When My wife got there they told her the mechanic went home. She was there at 6:50pm. He said they tried to call her but She did not have a missed call. The guy was rude and unapologetic. She asked why they didn t call so She might have been able to go somewhere else. He claimed her phone is out of order. She asked what number he had and he became frustrated and repeated her phone number. He never tried to call. He wouldn t look her in the eye and talk to her and just kept shaking his head when she asked a question. We will never step foot into this store again and will make sure to let everyone we know about our experience.
What a waste of time at Pep Boy Santa Fe. Chris in the service department needs to be replaced ASAP! The worst service department on earth. Take your car needs to Discount Tires at least.
