If I could have left negative stars, believe me I would have. I used to hold Ascension Genesys to a high regard, and after the last couple visits, that has changed. Before I continue with this review, let me start off by saying I am a medical assistant/nursing student/medical biller and coder, so I am well educated in the medical field. The triage nurse I had last night coped an attitude with me because after she used an alcohol swab in my antecubital space, she went to start an IV right above my wrist, I told her she was not going to start an IV there, she immediately coped an attitude and huffed "I'm just trying to speed up the process". I promptly told her it was my body and I know where IV's work and where they don't, especially after having 5 back surgeries in 2 years and being in and out of the hospital. She then quickly pulled off the tourniquet and started to wheel me back out into the waiting room, that's when I told her I did have 2 arms, she didn't even bother looking at my left arm and that's when she replied "Yep and I have 2 feet". On to the patient registration, her name was Keisha. She always has an attitude, not sure why she is always so rude to the patients. My boyfriend went up to her at midnight and asked her how many more people where ahead of me. She said 4. That was fine with me, I had no problem waiting, I counted 4 people go back into the back, not go back into triage and come back out. My boyfriend went back up to her at 1am and asked how many more people and she said 3?!?!?!?!? How does that even make sense??? At that point I was starting to get pretty upset. I had him ask for her name, and I'm not sure if the "employees" know this, but we don't need to give you a reason to ask for your name. She refused to give her name. Then her, and another patient registration lady and the nurse from triage decided it would be appropriate to talk about me under their breath and snicker about me.
I was left in a wheelchair from 11pm until 3:30am, I already have nerve issues, so my feet are already numb and when I am unable to move them from time to time, they become numb numb, so when I was brought back to the room in the emergency room, the male er tech wanted me to get up right away and when I informed him that I couldn't because my left foot was numb numb and I didn't want to cause a fracture like I did to my right foot that is currently in a cam boot, he coped an attitude and told me "Oh well you have too, you can't wait all night." He walked towards me and at that point I told him not to touch me and I grabbed my boyfriends arm and he led me to the bed. They also placed me next to a man who was hallucinating and I felt unsafe. Fast forward to me getting discharged......... IT IS THE LAW THAT HOSPITALS MAKE SURE PATIENTS GET HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was brought in by ambulance, I can't drive, and I know how the process works. A nurse is supposed to call my insurance to set a ride up, I CAN NOT, I repeat, CAN NOT do it (because trust me, if I could, I would, it would save me and a lot of patient's a lot of trouble). And the last couple times when I have told the nurses this, they argue with me and tell me it is not their job. Well this morning, I was trying to call my insurance so my nurse could hear it for herself, she was talking through the prompts so I told her to shut up. She stormed out of my room. Yes, I was in the wrong, yes I had an attitude, but at that point I just wanted to get home, and I was trying to tell her I could not arrange a ride, even though it has a number for members to call on the back of the card (that's the number you call when you arrange rides to normal appointments). She came back with the nursing supervisor, Courtney. This was by far the worst nursing supervisor I have ever met in my entire life. I told her it was the law to make sure patients get home, her reply to me was "no, it is your responsibility"......... TO BE CONTINUED IN NEXT REVIEW I AM NOT DONE**************
