We arrived at the ER at approximately 4:30 on 6/28/18. My sister was experiencing heart attack symptoms. The triage nurse acted like she was being bothered; however, the staff did get us back quickly. To make a long story short, we were there in the ER for 4 hours and NEVER saw a physician. The NP saw my sister twice and I think that was only because symptoms were not getting any better. Why would they? They did not give her anything for discomfort until approximately 2 hours into the visit and that is only because I said something. I have been a registered nurse for 30 years. I don t like the hospital staff to know because I want them to speak in laymen terms for my family so they understand. I finally said to the NP that I was concerned that my sisters BP was increasing. My sister is works out on a regular basis and is a healthy weight of 120#. Her normal BP is around 110/60. Her readings were 160/92. When I said something to the NP this was his very unprofessional and uncaring response. We don t chase numbers in the ER. This is Emergency Medicine 101. Really!?!? I have been to this hospital several times with my mother due to her cardiac history. I have always felt comfortable there until last evening. My sister spent the night and will be having a stress test today. The other thing is they asked her for a urine sample. The staff never came back to retrieve the sample even after me asking about it three times. So, so very disappointed!!
