It's disheartening when I see that an awesome and caring hospital, such as Ascension Genesys, is rated 2.5 star on Google when they gave my grandmother 5-star care. My grandmother was admitted to the emergency room after she fell and broke her hip. This was during the summer, when Covid was allegedly "at its highest." From the moment she was admitted to the moment she left the hospital I was allowed to be with her (with a face mask and temperature checked.) I had the opportunity to be given face-to-face interaction with the nurses and doctors taking care of her, which made ALL THE DIFFERENCE in her recovery. I was allowed to be present, with my grandmother, and understand why/how she was being treated. Because of this, when she was discharged I knew how to aid in her recovery. A few weeks ago my grandmother had to be re-admitted into a different hospital in a different state and our experience with this hospital was despicable-and they are rated a 2.2 star on google! No visitors were allowed and as a result of this, my grandma - and everyone other patient aged 18 and older admitted into the hospital during "Covid times" - is left alone in a bare room with strangers around them telling to wear masks and doctors spewing out the worst of prognosis-es with no love or hope in the delivery. It's disgraceful and beyond disappointing. After this experience I felt the need to write this review so that people can know that Ascension Genesys is definitely not 2.5 stars. This hospital delivered 10 days of 5-star care and beyond. Allowing ONE loved one per patient during Covid times is the humane and proper thing to do and I can't re-iterate how highly I recommend this hospital.
