I have an issue with the seal on my refrigerator door so I called, they sent out a technician who was at the house for 10 minutes and tried to tell me it was a drawer out of place, I called to have another tech sent to actually diagnose the problem, he told me it was the gasket which he ordered, when the next tech came to install it a week later the gasket that came out of the box looked like it had been used already so he was going to order ANOTHER one but before he left I had him look at the fridge and he believed it was the hinges and told me he couldn't fix it and that I should call the manufacturer. I called Customer Service and spoke with a supervisor who told me the initial service charge was non-refundable. So basically I paid to have some guy tell me what any human being could have just BS'd. The supervisor said they send out trained professionals but to have a technician tell me they aren't familiar with the brand at all doesn't seem very trained to me, especially when I get three different opinions of which none of them are right. So now I have to get a company to ACTUALLY fix my refrigerator.

Completely inept at providing timely service in emergent situations. No regard for customer contracts. Does not honor scheduled appointments. I surely hope that their one redeeming quality will be willingness to admit fault and refund copays for missed appointments. ETA: Refund was issued with no problem- however, the representative made no effort to apologize or offer to get a technician out ASAP to make up for the inconvenience.
Update: Once again, I'm attempting to schedule a technician to check our unit and have called multiple times over the past two weeks to speak with a representative- after navigating the menu I've spent 20+ minutes (multiple times) waiting for someone to answer. I'm beginning to think they don't staff the call center since the app- and automatic booking features have been made available. Unfortunately, my landlord- not myself- is the primary account holder so I'm unable to utilize the website/app, and info is not working for the automatic scheduling.
Once again, I will be strongly encouraging that he cancel his subscription and utilize a local, small business that understands how to properly manage clients and will likely be able to respond same day, if not next day- instead of offering appointments 5 days out (WHEN they are even able to be made). If there was a 0 star option, I would surely utilize it.
As another Reviewer mentioned- if an apartment is using this service, I would strongly recommend you look into other options. Regardless of how customer experience is once a technician DOES come- the rest of this experience is unacceptable and I would be 100% unwilling to stick with this company. Perhaps those technicians should break off and start their own business.

I was surprised to read about the bad reviews. I am very thankful to have this service. The plumbers that were sent were excellent and very professional. Yes, it's sometimes a hassle to schedule a service online, but I found out that if I call the company, they are very helpful. I had a few disappointments with scheduling, but they were resolved and customer service was very nice, professional and accommodating. I am renewing for a second year and recommend them to friends.

As all reviews said, the technician never showed up. When speaking to the supervisor, Mikela, she said they were running behind because they had a meeting in the office. I got a call from her at 1:40 pm, and the service appointment was between 8 am and 1 pm. I took half a day off from work, unpaid, for the appointment!!! Then Mikela, very kindly, hung up the phone on me because I was very upset about this situation. I have guests in my house this weekend.

I want to thank Demetrick for fixing a problem that could have been fixed with my first service call. An obvious bad weld on the roof( a picture taken by Demetrick) saved me from having my feed lines cut and saved me from a large bill in feeding new lines. My installation was done January 26th 2016. I had a called several times( I sure you have them on the logs) and said something was wrong. I was told I didn't know my thermostat. Demetrick found the problem right away because he looked under the foam insulation and said it was evident that the gas was coming out there. He fixed the weld. My 97 year old mom was very uncomfortable for the weeks I was put on hold. I was told that you'd contact me to see if I was satisfied with the results of my latest and I hope last service call. I've gotten no response and this is the reason for my note to you. I give Demetrick high marks for taking the time to listen and look.

Have been a paying customer for seven years and had reasonably good service till this year. First I had to wait three days for a service tech who kept rescheduling at the last minute and spent hours on hold with Service America and then had to call a manager. Now after what I thought was the best policy with zero deductible I'm having to additional parts costs. Hold times are excessive when you call and if you do on line scheduling that information gets changed and the tech comes out to fix something that isn't wrong. The staff on the phone are not effective in handling complaints. Will not review.

We had a dishwasher stop working. It took about 2 weeks to get an appointment. Then the guy who came out didn't know anything about our machine so it took another week to get the next appointment. They had to get a part which took another week. A whole month without a working dishwasher. And it's broken down multiple times since then.

Service America has become the worst service provider, ever. Worse than Comcast, which is really saying something. We have had a service contract with SA for 8 years. Some techs are good, most are barely competent. We've had a few issues with them over the years, but the price was right, so we continued renewing our contract.
This year, our a/c system (installed by SA in 2012) failed after our power was restored following Hurricane Irma in 9/17. The system would not cool. The thermostat read 87 degrees when power was restored and 10 hours later, it said 81 degrees. I called at 8am on Thursday, and the earliest appointment they could give me was for Saturday. I took it. The appointment "window" was 14 hours -- from 7am until 11pm (contrary to SA's "guaranteed 2-hour appointment window").Three hours later, I saw a huge pool of water in the hallway, and saw water leaking from the ceiling fixture. That's where the air handler sits, so I figured the pan had overflowed, indicating that the float switch (also installed by SA as part of the a/c replacement in 2012) was broken. I called SA back and told them it was now an emergency, could they please get someone here before Saturday? I was told that it wasn't a sufficient emergency, because all I had to do was tun off the system (in South Florida, in mid-September, when the temp is over 90 degrees). However, for a $75 fee additional (i.e., in addition to the $55 co-pay they imposed this year for each service call, and in addition to the $500 annual contract fee), they could send someone today. I said, fine, send someone, and agreed to pay the $75 in advance.
4 hours later, a SA tech arrives, and I explain what's going wrong. He tells me, "we don't do attic work in the afternoon." I said, "excuse me? That's why I asked them to send someone today. The air handler is leaking. The system can't run without the air handler. It needs to be fixed today." He told me he won't go up in the attic to work. He also told me, the float switch is considered outside the a/c system, and it will be $200 or so dollars to repair. AND, the freon leak investigation will be another $200 or so dollars to investigate. I lost it. I said, "in what alternative universe does 'the air handler is leaking water through the ceiling" NOT suggest that the air handler is in the f---ing attic? If you can't fix it today, why did they send you?" He got on the phone with his supervisor, and I got on my phone with SA "customer service". Ha! While on hold (for 6 minutes) I checked to see if the tech was waiting at the door. He was not. He was pulling his truck out of our driveway and leaving. I waited on hold for another 10 minutes before a person came on the line, and I told them the tech refused to do attic work and left. They would not give me a refund of either the $55 service call charge, or, the $75 charge to get someone out there that day, when they KNEW that the only reason I requested a tech THAT DAY was because the air handler was leaking. I am done with SA.

Our AC stopped working on Wednesday so we called to make an appointment and were scheduled for Friday with the window of 12 to 5. Both my wife and I work so I took a half day and waited paitiently. By 5 no one had shown up so I called to see what had happened and they told me that we had been rescheduled for Saturday from 12 to 5. They did not show up until 6:30 on Saturday! The Technician then began to tell me that we needed a whole new ac unit and that they would have a consultant to quote us on the price the next day. Lucky for us my wife's friends husband works for another AC firm so he came by for a second opinion. Within 30 minutes he had replaced a part on the compressor and the AC STARTED WORKING! Either service america is incompetent or a bunch of SCAM ARTISTS. Either way I will never ever ever call this company again.

Poor costumer service, they never call when late and the costumer service phone line takes over 30 minutes to answer but if you call to open a new contract then they answer you right away.
They make me loose my Doctor appointment, the thecnician was late 3 hours from the schedule time, but they don t call to update you.
So you may loose a whole day waiting for service that may not happen at all.

We have been customers of AMIRA since 1986; they eventually became Service America after being bought out. They never take an emergency seriously, or at least what we consider an emergency. Their internal communication is non-existent -- today I have received four calls on a problem that has left us with no hot water for a week. The initial serviceman diagnosed the problem with our gas waterheater as a part failure -- they had installed the new waterheater in April of 2011. They apparently have no repair parts available locally and had to order a replacement from the mfg. They initially scheduled installation of the new part on Tuesday of this week and reconfirmed the appointment Monday morning of this week -- after 4:00 PM the same day they called again to say the part had not arrived from the mfg. and they were cancelling the Tuesday appointment and would reschedule when the part was received. Today, the first call was to inform me that the part had been received and they could install it Thursday or Friday -- due to other commitments, we asked that it be installed on Thursday (cold showers are for teenagers, not seniors like us).
Not ten minutes later, another call told us that a "Service Manager" had located a part which "might work" and could install it this afternoon -- we don't need to be used as 'guinea pigs' since a wrong part could further damage the waterheater, so we told them that we would wait. Less than 5 minutes later, another "Customer Service" representative called to verify 'our Friday appointment' -- which I firmly replied that we had scheduled a Thursday appointment due to a doctor's appointment.

They never showed up to the appointment, nor called, nor followed up. When I called to cancel, they said they would not refund me my money in full. We reported that the ice maker on our refrigerator was not working. When the repair man came he was several hours past the arranged service time but he did call and say he would be late. After checking our refrigerator it was determined that it was in fact a broken ice maker. The service technician did not have a replacement part with him and we had to wait another week for the repair to be completed. The second technician was on time and replaced the unit within 20-30 minutes. Very pleasant man.

This company is awful! My dryer hasn't been working since Sunday(1/21/18). Called Monday to see if a tech could come out and fix it. Fortunately, they were able to make an appt for a tech to come out Thursday(1/25/18), which is my day off. They really don't give you a time frame for when they are coming, but the customer service rep said they will call me 45 min before they are on their way. I've been sitting at home all day waiting for them to come. I literally left my house for 10 min to pick my daughter up from the bus stop, to come home and see an invoice on my door from service america. They didnt even call me! No question this company is a waste of money. This is how it works: Lets assume you have an appliance issue where its not working. Be Prepared to wait upwards of a week for a technician to come out and look at it. The technician has a miserable attitude, and guess what forgets to hook up
another essential part for another appliance and we have to call them to come out again.
It takes them another week to come out again to correct their mistake. Their response: "Oh we wont bill you for coming out again". Really? Thanks for all the help. Stay Away from this company

By far the worst repair company I've dealt with. They have cancelled appointments several times, the technicians do not communicate or take the proper notes for repairs which makes for several trips day after day. Scheduling is a nightmare. It took over 2 months to replace the faucet in my bathtub. They also tried to charge me for the replacement parts which were already paid for. This company should not be allowed to operate. I'm sure it's run by a bunch of high school drop outs. Do not give them your business and do not sign a service contract.

DO NOT deal with this company. It took 4 days for them to come and fix my A/C, one week to return a phone call about something I wanted to purchase and 2 weeks to fix my dishwasher. There is no service. I have been with this company for 11 years. I wrote a letter of complaint to the president/CEO and vice president and that's when things got worse. They called me regarding the letter, would check into things and get back to me in 48 hours. That was 3 weeks ago. Needless to say, I did not re-new my contract. They hang up on you and no one knows how to return a phone call.

This company is a scam. Absolutely no respect for customers. These guys have been fixing my AC for 4 months now and all I have noticed is more issues. I hope I finally have found a good technician who will be able to solve this problem. Every time there has been a wait of 3-4 business days. Even if tgey have not been able to fix the AC, they charge premium if you need quick service. The manager even had the audacity to tell me that we do not guarantee a fix and he cannot help me unless I pay premium for a technician to come on weekend but no fee if I wait for another 4 days. Even when I informed that my wife was 8 months pregnant. I am already looking for another alternatives. I heard good reviews when I first got the contract 2 yrs back but this company is on its way down at very high speed. Worst, Worst, worst company ever....

Very poor service. They take over a week to schedule a service call and they don't have enough technicians to cover the high demand. It takes them ages to get an appliance repaired and even longer if a part is needed. It's been almost 2 months since the first time that I scheduled an appointment to repair my washer and the problem hasn't been solved. I call on a daily basis for updates and it's impossible to get an answer from their operators, supervisors and managers. I'm VERY disappointed and will not be renewing my contract with them.

I signed up in Nov 2017 called for service a month later.service tech came out a week later,paid charge,he said he needed parts. Got calls the parts were in on 3 different dates. Made appt for 2 weeks later, different tech comes out, calls from his truck and says they sent him without parts. It's now a month, 10 calls and no one knows if they have parts or not. Three operators told me they would check on parts and call back. They never did and Everytime I call it's 10 minutes on hold and no answers.
I'm ready to cancel this terrible company. They don't care about customers.

We had Service America for 5 years and we renewed our contract not realizing that they made changes to the contract and added a copay of 55 dollars for every service call. Even for toilet running water they are charging copay of 55 dollars. Not worth it.

I'm in Central Florida and pay these guys for an AC service warranty and it's been 8 days without air conditioning (in Florida heat!) and so far 2 tech's have come and gone trying to diagnose it, deer in the headlights. I'm currently on hold for their customer service because I live in Florida and not having AC is like not having water for a human being, it's incomprehensible. I've been on hold for 1 hour now. Never in my life have I ever been on hold for this long. Complete fools, I don't recommend this company...definitely considering legal action. Good luck guys!

The tech came in to fix my refrigerator, accurately diagnosed the problem and had the replacement part with him. When I signed up for a contract I was promised all kinds of things from the rep and the main one was 24 hour service for emergency and 48 hours for non emergency. Once I got the contract when I needed to have my Washer fixed I saw that they would not even let you schedule service for 8 days. I called and complained and they moved up my appoint so I only had to wait 4 days. Then at the last minute I got a call saying that the tech was sick and would not be in. I was then told that I would have to wait again several more days. Then on the day that I was to have the appointment again I was told that the technician was running late and would not be able to make it and then needed to reschedule yet again. I was not happy but we rescheduled the appointment. Then at 10:00 PM the technician called and said he would be there shortly. He arrived and fixed the washer. Service America installed a brand new, top of the line Trane a/c unit about 6 months ago and it worked great. This new a/c stopped working on Sun, Aug 13 (house at 96 degrees Sunday night). OK - things happen. The tech who came out Tues, Aug 15 informed us that we needed a new fan motor (house now at 98 degrees). OK - things happen. We were given an appointment for Thur, Aug 17 to replace the motor with a new one (house hit 101) . OK - things happen. We received a call Wed, Aug 16 that the part had not gotten there yet, so they would re-schedule for Friday, Aug 18 (house at 98). OK - things happen. Friday, at 4:05 pm I called SA and was told that the tech was leaving Davie and heading to my Cooper City location. I called back almost an hour later, after no one showed, to hear that the appointment had been canceled, with no reason given. NOT OK!! My husband also received a voicemail at 4:58 pm on the same day, that the part had come in defective and the next available appointment was on Thurs, AUGUST 24 - NOT OK!! When I asked for a supervisor, I was told that all of them leave at 5, but one would be available on Saturday, Aug 19 at 8 AM and that notes would be left of this person. After I called SA Sat (no supervisor called me), I was told there was nothing he could do because the parts dept was closed til Monday. I called Monday, Aug 21 and spoke with a supervisor (Linda) who didn't really seem to care much about our situation. I asked her if they could just pick up the fan motor from the LOCAL Trane supply facility , but she said she didn't know about the parts department - NOT OK. I called back several hours later and spoke with another supervisor (Marilyn) who was the only one who seemed to concerned about our now 9 days with no a/c in S. FL, but.... still no air. I tried calling AGAIN today, Tues, Aug 22, but, after waiting 15 min before customer service (NOT) answered, being disconnected and waiting another 20 minutes again, it was now after 5 PM and all supervisors had left - NOT OK. The person who answered the call this time assured me that she would send all of this info to the president of the company. After the lack of customer service, we truly doubt we'll hear from anyone. Meanwhile, day 10 NO AIR NOT OK!!

This is an edited review. The 2nd part of this review was reviewing how hard it was getting them on the phone. I made this edit the 1st part of the review since it is more relevant. In the month of July 2018. I had an a/c leak. Since you cant reach anyone on the phone much of the time I went on my computer and paid an extra 75.00 for 24 hour service. Service is from 8am to 6 pm. I made an afternoon appointment. at 5:45 the a/c man called and said he cant make it until 9pm. I was upset but I said ok. then at 9:30 pm he said he cant make until between 10-11. At that point I canceled. It was unreasonable. It took 2 days to get a person on the phone and I asked for the 75.00 convenience fee (Ha Ha convenience} to be taken off. Appointment was set again. Then that a/c guy called at 7Pm (was supposed to be there by 6pm the latest and said he can make it by 9pm. At that point I canceled for again the unreasonable treatment. Not only didn't I get a refund for the 125.00 service fee I paid in advance on the credit card but the double billed me another 125.00 for a service call that never happened. I called my credit card company to remove the charges and asked them to remove the 306.00 for the yearly contract that wasn't abided by. I gladly paid 225.00 for a/c service by an a/c company that did an excellent job. Please don't use this company. They had the nerve to send me a contract extension that was 100.00 more than last year. They are grossly understaffed and overworked and you wont be happy with them.

I had service America years ago and they were very good. Now everything is done on line. If you need to schedule an appointment you need to do it online. If you try to call them or you have an issue they are almost impossible to reach nobody will pick up the phone. I tried leaving a message as they offered for call back and they called me back whenever I can't answer the phone hours later. After being on hold for an hour several times I decided that I will not do my renewal in 2 months. I would much rather be able to reach somebody and pay for the repair as it happens then to go through that stress. Especially if it's your air conditioner you should stay away from this company if you ever have an issue or a problem you'll never be able to reach them. Just to update this post, I finally reached someone who told me the reason scheduling by computer was they were understaffed. They try to save money by having a skeleton crew and a computer system.

Had a great experience. My technician was excellent and courteous. But this is why I will not be renewing my service America contract. They're starting a $35 service charge per visit. I called on a Friday morning and I wasn't able to get an appointment until Monday afternoon. The technician was approximately an hour late of the new two hour window. Which I don't mind waiting the 4-Hour window without a $35 service fee, but if I had to pay $35, I would have been very upset. For an extra $35 and not paying the annual fee of over $365, I could have got a plumber right away to address the issue.

Yesterday my AC broke. I called Service America to get it fixed. The earliest they could come was 6 DAYS later! The Service Supervisor Ricardo explained it to me very clearly: the contract says they will provide the service, it just doesn't say WHEN will they provide it. So, in a nutshell, Service America can take one day, 2 days, two weeks, two months to provide you with the service you already paid for! It DOES NOT matter if you need it a little bit quicker. I have been a loyal customer for 13+ years - Not any more. Find someone else to service your house. And don't bother trying to speak with supervisors. Ricardo also said "as a Supervisor he had to return the calls of the customers, but that didn't mean he had to FIX their problems". I would give negative stars if I could.
