I first took my truck in to the pep boys in robertsdale al on 11-25-18, for alignment and tire rotation and balance. I had just had all control arms replaced by a reputable mechanic on Saturday the 24th. Truck had slight pull to the right. They had my truck on the rack 4 times that day. I pick up my vehicle and drive it home. I did not go anywhere for a few days, when I did return to the road, my truck had a bad vibration that would come and go coming from the passenger side. I returned my Fj to the pep boys in Robertsdale and left it again on Saturday 12-1-18. When I picked it up they said I had slung a wheel weight and replaced it for no charge. I again went home and did not drive my truck again till Tuesday. It still had same vibration and a hard pull to the left. I had my brother come and drive it at which time he returned it to the pep boys location and they made a third appointment for Friday 12-7-18 at 11 a.m. I then called the 1-800 number to file a complaint and to get a refund. I was told the area director would be calling me. He did not, the store manager did. I agreed to return my truck there on Friday and give them one more chance. Bad mistake . The store manager called to tell me the driver side c axle was busted. I had been all under the truck Friday morning, my brother and I had been under it the previous Wednesday, pep boys had been under it twice and had not found this nor the mechanic on the Saturday of 11-24 had seen it. I had just replaced 90% of the front end 11 months ago at 3400$. They did refund the cost of the alignment, someone from corporate called to inform me that the director would be calling, the store manager called. I told him I wanted to speak with director. Director has since called and left a very rude message. They or something they did caused the damage to the CV axle. They have been extremely defensive since this occurred. Do not use pep boys in robertsdale unless you have money for repairs and a lawyer. Case Id 616840. Glen Mike Rowe is the area director.
