Terrible Customer Service. Don't order anything from their website, they cancel orders without notification. Once it is cancelled you cannot speak to anyone about it and you will never know why. However, they will keep your money for a couple of weeks before they refund it. You are completely at their mercy!

Had an issue a the Gurnee IL store. I preordered building materials with James Dulen on 2/17/15. I prepaid for the items over the phone. James suggested to have the items picked up to save the delivery charge. He said Menards staff will pull the items and work with my guys to load on our truck the next morning. When my guys arrived at the jobsite, there was a line item of 12 Durock that was missing. I contacted James and was informed, the Durock was not loaded even though there were 300 in stock. I requested that Menards deliver the missing Durock to the jobsite at no cost since this was clearly an oversight by Menards. James and the GM Ray MCNeil was adamant they will not honor the delivery without charging the customer. I had to send trades home due to the lack of materials. I contacted Menards Corporate and was told all consumer relations is through snail mail only. Pathetic!! I purchased thousands of dollars of materials from Menards in the past and its clear, their customer service has deteriorated and will never buy from them again.

I just had one of the worst experiences of my life...

I just had one of the worst experiences of my life at Menards. I tried to return a knife about a month ago without a receipt, I threw the receipt away because I didn't plan on returning the knife. I found out the knife they sold me was Illegal because it was spring loaded so I went to return it they took the knife back but they didn't refund me. they told me to call corporate and they would take care of it. I called and they didn't do anything to help. Menards called me and told me they had my knife and would give it back to me because they can't refund it without a receipt. I go in to get the knife back and they call the Police on me because they thought I stole the knife. since there was no proof of me stealing I didn't get arrested and to top it all off they banned me from every Menards in the country! The manager at this store needs to be fired and convicted for a false police report. look out for this nut case accusing You of stealing if u happen to try to return an item without the receipt!

My mask I bought from menards broke while cashing out the young cashier completely freaked out customer service mgr said ok finish my order but the cashier made a big embarrassing deal out of saying it was her right to refuse me service and than service mgr stood by her after a minute ago saying it's ok than informs me that if I want my merchandise I must stand in line purchase another mask and stand in line to pay for items again! I spend over a Hundred thousand dollars a year through my work for the last seven years and they said none of that matters to them!!!! Larry Menard you run a horrible business!!!!!

I just came from shopping at the Menards in Apple ...

I just came from shopping at the Menards in Apple Valley, MN. It was horrible! The 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. hour Sunday morning was to be for Senior citizens. That was not the case! There were people in the store from all age brackets. Social distancing was not being practiced and there was no one from Menards enforcing it. Worse yet, Menards staff were in the isles stocking shelves which blocked the entrance or exits to many isles. Very poor representation on behalf of Menards and the management for the Apple Valley, MN store during this critical time with the COVID-19 outbreak.

People have always been wonderful at Menards, and ...

People have always been wonderful at Menards, and for the most part have been helpful. But, last night on November 14, 2016 my family had a very uncomfortable incident at the Goshen, IN store. As my brother and dad approached the register, the cashier (Pamela) seem to be nice. My brother asked her if they would be able to put their transaction on my dad's Big Card. With a "surprised" look on her face she said "Oh you have one?" and giggled like it was something funny that a Hispanic man had a credit card. My brother answered her saying "Yes, we do but would you be able to look it up?". She asked for my father's birthday and entered it and asked for him to type in his social (giggling) again making them feel like pretty much crap. After he enters his number, she makes a smart remark "Oh he passed!" My brother then asked her "Why wouldn't he?" She responds with "You never know he might have entered someone else social security number."
Just because we looked Hispanic, gives her no right to treat us the way she did. Making us feel like if we were some kind of joke to her.

Menards told me that I was receiving treated lumber. A $10,000 deck was built using this lumber. The lumber was not treated. The store general manager told me that he could not do anything & that I would have to take it up with corporate. There is no phone number or e-mail address to contact anyone at Menards & they are doing nothing to resolve the situation.

No speaking person for customer service, 0 stars if there was an option. If you have issues dont plan on quick resolution as the only form of communication is emails. Ordered 4 items, 3 came broken, fourth seems to be lost but will bet when it arrives it too will be broken. This company needs to get out of the "try to be like Amazon" business bc they dont know that step 1 is customer satisfaction and cutting off direct communication to customers indicates they could care less what happens after the sale.

I ordered a portable air conditioner from your on line store, paid for shipping to my home, this was on June 4th, on June 10th I requested a tracking number, the next day I entered the number given by your customer service, it was not a valid tracking number, after many e-mails I was sent a thru the wall air conditioner,
I contacted customer service they responded requesting pictures,
I sent the pictures, they suggested I figure out away to return it, I am not able to lift it let alone drive the 60 miles to return it to one of your stores. I requested customer service cancel the order, credit my account and have this air conditioner picked up. I have not received a reply, it is now July 6th. I will be cutting up my Menards card and no longer be shopping at this store. By the way, I have received a portable air conditioner from Home Depot, it arrived within 5 days.

Menards-West is horrible. Cashiers are rude, and don't care about making it right. Wouldn't give me the value of a 50 cent coupon because their scanner couldn't get it to scan. Every other store in Eau Claire accepts coupons that don't scan--they just manually put them in. Even Menards-East took a coupon I printed from online that wouldn't scan! I will definitely not purchase any other household items here that I could otherwise get at Walmart, Target, etc, even if it does make for an extra stop! Avoid!

Called two stores and talked with four different employees in the kitchen cabinet department and no one could tell me the warranty on their Klearvue kitchen cabinets. One even told me to look it on line but I couldn't find it. Another looked it up but could only find what wasn't covered, which was about everything. Don't they train their people??

Beware of ordering online. I ordered a sink grid, paid over $153.00 for it and it didn t fit so I returned it to the store and they charged me just under $36.00 restocking fee. The restocking fee was not disclosed when I placed my order! This is fraud in my mind. You can t talk over the phone to anyone regarding your transaction, it all has to be done via email. Very poor customer service in my opinion.

Went in to rent a wet masonry saw after buying $600 worth of tile. Not only did the customer service representative fail to give me the water bucket for the saw (which I worked around by using a hose and some zip ties) they accused me of stealing it when I went to return the tile saw the following day.

Terrible customer service, terrible store. Will never shop here again.

I find their service to be first rate and their employees to be well schooled in how to treat a customer.I travel for a disaster response organization and I prefer to use Menards whenever we are near one. Dave, the contractor desk manager in Moline, Il is phenomenol. Thanks Menards for leading the way.

They don't warranty any of the gas powered items. They will tell you that even if they don't work, the day you bought it, you need to take it to a service center. (there isn't one locally) there it sits two weeks.
So its an hour each way. (four hours) to get it to the service center and back.I am in Eau Claire, where Menards is based from. Such poor customer service.

They all have a crappy attitude and act like your bothering them if you have a question. Most of the low end stockers and checkers are good, but all of the managers suck.
The customers DO NOT come first.

Today, after ambling through this big box store for at least two hours, we were finally able to acquire the assistance of a staff in a department with drill chuck tools because the disorder of the merchandise made it impossible to ascertain accurate pricing before making our decisions. The staff person took the three kits we were comparing and returned with the pricing. We chose a kit that was priced at $19.95, as featured on the shelf and by the staff person s individual price check. Once we had completed our transaction, we discerned that we were charged $29.95 for that specific item. We went back to check the shelf price and we consulted a manager Rosa who instructed us to go to customer service for a price adjustment/refund. However, once the transaction was being processed, Rosa came to that point-of-sale station and said to me, That ($29.95) was the correct price, but my team told me you altered the shelf price tag . At first, I thought something was being lost in our communication, and asked her what she meant, since not only was the shelf indicator listing $19.95, but the staff person who had assisted us earlier, told us the price was $19.95.
So, at some point in our exchange, I asked if she was accusing me of something dishonest, and she, brazenly said, Yeah, my team said they saw you moving the price tags around, and they wouldn t say that if they didn t see you . I became unglued, and demanded that she amend her vernacular, because there is a witness, namely, the staff person who had assisted us earlier, not to mention, this was a tactless way to resolve an issue, even if there had been an objective and reasonable belief for making an allegation of this nature which, there was not.
Without iterating the entire debacle that took place and it was very heated because I continued to advise this young woman that she was treading on dangerous ground by openly and publicly accusing me of what is legally defined as a crime: theft by diversion or deception, let it suffice to say that
we want every penny we spent in this store refunded without fail or hesitation when we return with every iota of merchandise we purchased. And, be advised, every iota of merchandise we left the store with was paid for IN FULL by us.

I went into menards and spent 500.00. The cash register messed up and charged me twice. I was assured that it didn't go through even though I could see it did on my bank app. ( dealt with Amy) I am a single mother of three kids who can barely work because I'm taking care of my father who has cancer. So to see almost $1000.00 out of my account really upset me. I was assured it would drop off and when it didn't 3 days later I called the store back and talked to Ellen. She stated that it didn't show in their system as a purchase so I would have to call my bank. Which I did. I had to go thru this entire process with them because your computers messed my stuff up. Then I called the store back and talked to Amy again and she assured me I would be compensated for my trouble when I came back in to finish purchasing the remainders for my project. She told me everyone on the front end would know. A week later my money was returned. I had to hold off on my bills because of this. I go back into the store about three weeks later and spent 200 roughly. I asked for the front end supervisor who told me that they will never give discounts. I was shocked. I came back to your store ONLY because I was promised a discount for inconvenience. I asked to talk to the manager ( Eric) he then told me he would ask Amy and call me- which he never did. I'm beyond upset. I've been lied to by associates at this store and I was so embarrassed at the register. I could have easily went to Home Depot across the street. And I will on my next project. This has left me feeling like I do not matter as a customer. This was the schereville Indiana store. I emailed corporate who basically told me that I could go F off. That they wouldn't do a thing for me. DONT SHOP AT MENARDS UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO BE SCREWED OVER.

Ordered & Paid for materials, when picking them up it was determined what was claimed to be in stock WASN'T. Then had to quit roofing project. Was told they were to be order & available in a few days. Returned to get materials they had sold neatly all stock, this delayed the completion again. So my advice is Never do business with Menards, I won't.

A dog was allowed by management to suffer in a locked car for over 40 minutes. I trusted when I spoke to management they would resolve it by paging for the customer, I gave them a full description of the vehicle, or by calling the police. They did neither. The dog suffered. When I came out of the store I CALLED THE COPS but because of Menards ineptitude the dog owner was able to depart before police arrived. Disgusting.

Placed an online order to be picked up in store... Nowhere did we get an estimated time of arrival. We thought that shipping to store will happen faster than shipping to our home address - we were wrong! Not only did we find out that our order is going to take a full month to arrive, but there was APSOLUTELY NOT A SINGLE PERSON that wanted to help us with the issue!!! We went back and forth from the store to "online customer support" (better call it CUSTOMER AVOIDANCE), just so we would end up talking to the vendor himself!!! The vendor too was not very helpfull, and neither was he happy that MENARDS gave us their phone number. So, I ended up calling the corporate office and was almost told to screw off! Again, NOT A SINGLE PERSON - AND I DO NOT MEAN A VOICE MASHINE NOR AN E-MAIL ADDRESS, I WANTED TO """TALK""" TO SOMEONE - but ended up writing this review! Unfortunately, the lowest rating is one star, and for them, that is an extremely high score!!!

Made a delivery in Waterloo, NE and arrived at 8:14 am for a 9:00 am appointment. Right away I was told this is a "first come first serve" location. Normal industry unload time is 2 hours then the driver would start collecting detention pay for any time after that. I was told flat out Menards does not pay detention time... It's now 2:25 pm and I'm still here. I've lost my next load, which was going to take me home for Easter weekend, due to this delay and will now end up spending this weekend in a truckstop with no compensation. Worst experience I've had getting unloaded. Will never take a Menards load again and also will definitely never shop at their store again.. You suck Menards..

I misordered a countertop refinishing kit the cost was $231. While I admit this was my mistake, the store charged me $117 to return this it, and only refunded $121. That is excessive. I probably will not do business with them again. On top of that when I reordered the correct kit it was missing some of the items.

On December 23 we tried to return 3 light fixtures...

On December 23 we tried to return 3 light fixtures we purchased from Menards in Livonia. Melissa at the return desk literally ripped them out of hands and said that we were not supposed to have them, that there had been an error on a special order that we made and that we "illegally" were in possession of their merchandise. We tried to explain to her that we purchased the exact same 3 lights and returned them at the time we special ordered a different light fixture. We decided to repurchase the 3 lights in case the special order did not come in or that it would not work. These three lights were a different purchase made at the time of the special order and that we were now returning them. She would not hear us and we asked to see the manager once she literally ripped a light fixture out of our hand. The manager (Billy) said that 1) the person who wrote up the special order made a mistake and did not do it correctly 2) the shipping department made a mistake and gave us these 3 extra lights, 3)the cashier made a mistake and that is why the receipt is wrong. We suggested that they in fact were the ones who were making the mistake. Melissa gathered up all of the paperwork and refused to give the receipts back to us. We left the store when my husband said, "if you sold the style of coat I am wearing and I came into this store, could you take it off my back and say I had to prove that I bought it at an earlier date or you could keep it?" When the store manager said "Absolutely" we decided to leave. It had escalated to the point that my husband threatened to call the police because Melissa had physically accosted me. We now have no lights, no paperwork and are out $140 some thing. It seems like everyone working in the store makes mistake and the customer pays for it. We will never shop at Menards again and we will tell everyone to be careful about shopping at the Livonia Menards store.

I ordered an item from the online Menards site. It was cancelled the next day without notifying me or providing any reason. I found out about it 5 days later when wondering about the status. No one at my local store can help me and there is no one to call for online support (only e-mail form submission). I will never order from Menards online again, and I have spent thousands at this store.

Good luck getting through to their corporate office. They don't answer their phone. I'm so disgusted with their customer service, they've lost me as a loyal customer. For someone who has shopped their for over 30 years, I will never again. HOME DEPOT or LOWES is now my home improvement store...

I will NEVER go to a Menards AGAIN!! We weren't told they were discontinuing our laminate flooring, and, in fact WERE TOLD that they "would never discontinue this flooring." Went back again to finish getting 5 or 6 boxes and there were NONE...they said it was discontinued. No warning, no sign, no nothing. Again, no one cares to talk to you. We had to get it from another Menards and WE had to pay shipping...no help from the manager. Then, when we did get some shipped, we didn't get it all, and they were no help finding the missing ones - Fed Ex needed the tracking numbers, which they wouldn't give me!!!! Asked to speak to that manger, but no one ever called, of course, and when I called, the phone rang and rang and no one answered. HATE THIS STORE!!! THEY ARE MORONS!!!!

It's sad to know that I used to work for this company. .. an I got injury on the job, an one of management team had the nervous to lie, an say that I didn't come to him.. an tell him that I was injured. .. when he told me... that he was busy, an to hold on.. before I punch out... because we wad short Staff that night.. an when he finally came to release me.. and all the back room employees heard me.. tell him on the radio that I injury myself. . Saw that he didn't let me leave 20 minutes until we closed that night... but now it's time that you should probably award an employee from there lost of time .. and that I have to go the rest of my life.. with this injury ... the company only wants to award me.. something that less than what I should get a year... from working with them... where is the loyalty. . An we stand behind our brand... I was one of your employees an this is how you treat them....an then had the nerves to fire me.. them I was injured. .. and about to have surgery on my injury. ...wow.. !!! This hold process made me look at this company in a different view. . Do they really love the people that shop and work there..? Is this company honest to there brand and employees. .? I would had wrote the C.E.O.. but it makes you think....!!! Are they really listening. ... do they really care.. I have a family an what they did to me.. wasn't Professional. .. .. I was out of work for some years. . No pay... but had to pay for my own stuff... wow..

What a ridiculous mess! Over a quart of paint that the lady at paint counter w breath u could see because it was so foul. Couldn't mix paint got the color every where but in the can. Then shook it as tho that would hide the fact it was all on the rim. Left paint at register as the 20yr. Old door manager explained they don't mix paint at register. I thanked her for explaining that as I was to dense to know that. Explained the paint lady is a nasty mess and I'm not going back there again. Left paint and a hundred dollars worth of paint supplies, maybe they restock from register?? What a witch! Thats ok shredded my menards card will not bother them again.

We have shopped Menard's for years and have been pleased with their service until our last major purchase. We recently purchased four doors for our new home - about $5,000 worth. Unfortunately the doors did not arrive on time as promised - about one week late. This ended up costing us an extra $500.00 in transportation costs to retrieve the doors and Menard's solution to this - send us back and forth between managers who have done absolutely nothing. I gave a one star rating, but 1/2 or none would be preferable. Long time customer that will not be returning!

BUYER BEWARE. I purchased a fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave from the Hanover Park store. The salesman recommended someone to connect the appliances, he actually put the referral in my hand. They sent out this man who spent 8 hours here and all he did was hook up stove, which I could've done. Then he proceeded to try and kiss me. I said no. He wouldn't take no for an answer and proceeded to pull my hair and push me closer to him. It scared the heck out of me. Then he pulled out these S&M toys. I said put them away, I don't want to see this stuff. I kept telling him to leave and thank goodness he finally did. I went to store and complained about it and told them I would never shop there again. So while I was waiting for them to figure out what items I had returned, I told the store manager that I would never shop at Menards anymore, not so much as a screw. I said that I would go to Home Depot. So as I was waiting for them to figure out what I returned, the store manager Bob said well this shouldn't take long, then you could go to Home Depot and said it in a very snotty way. Their customer service is terrible. I mean what kind of store manager says something like that. As if to say we don't need your business--go to Home Depot. I only wish I would have read all the reviews here before purchasing anything from Menards because I would never, ever had placed my order through them. Not only were they rude, they recommended a crazy person to hook up the appliances who could have raped or killed me but Bob told me Menards has no responsibility for what happened because they don't refer anybody (as if I were lying about the referral and that Menards does not recommend anybody). I told Bob, the store manager, that the salesman put the referral in my hand and they had a stack of his referral sheets at the store which they removed because I made a police report on the incident and a police officer went to Menards to report the incident to them so I don't quite understand how they hold no responsibility because I would never had called this service man if it wasn't for the referral that Menards gave me. I asked them for their corporate office telephone number and when you call the number, you don't get to speak to anyone, you have to write in your complaint. Pretty slick on Menards part. My best advice for consumers is: DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM MENARDS. YOU WILL REGRET IT

We have shopped Menards for alot of our home makeovers. We went to buy landscaping bricks which was marked. 36 cents and they said it wasn't the right price so I had to go get the sticker from the shelf bring it to the register and the Manager said it wasn't the right ones. I said go take a look and you will see she said no but proceeded to argue with my husband over this. What happened to customer service?? I work for retail and we are taught to never treat our customers this way. Very rude and disappointed in the Angola Indiana Menards

This place reeks of mediocrity. They don't give two hoots about you. Tried to return a faulty AC unit. I recently had to get a new check card because Wells Fargo requires it. And because I didn't have the same card I had when I purchased the AC unit, they couldn't refund this $200 broken AC unit. Store Credit only. I don't want your store credit. I will maybe need 200 dollars with of items from Menards over the course of the next fifteen years. Give me 200 dollars back for the broken AC unit you sold me. Boycotting this place until I die.

As a general contractor I can tell you that my personal experience with Menard has been challenging at nearly every turn. Customer service is absent, the corporate office is useless reaching out to them as they just push you back to the store, the "I don't care" attitude is the only experience I take away from Menard. That said, I am thankful there are other places to purchase materials.

Today is a sad day, I have shopped at Menards for over 25 years plus I use to work there and I was very proud to work there. Today I went to shop at the Red Wing location and as always found everything nice and easy, went to the register with no problem. I was with a friend of mine who has asthma, she wore her mask all the way to the point of sliding her card but it was becoming to difficult for her to breath so she removed it and the person running the front office came up to us and told her in a very sturn voice to put it back on or they'll refuse to finish our transaction. This has gotten out of hand. Do your research John. Masks are not doing any good and it's been proven.

Very poor customer service @ Muskegon, MI Harvey St Store. Almost like a trap. I even used to work for this company. Very disappointed in what they have become. We ordered a door, Knotty Pine, and one of the knots looked like a huge poop splatter against the door. This was to be installed in our daughters room. No thank you. I asked the mill work manager (Stephanie) and the GM (Dan) to help me and if they would install in their house. They both replied no, but if I'm not happy than I can write the company. I called HQ and that is exactly what you have to do with up to 45 days to process your request. The BBB gives Menard's 1 out of 5 stars on customer complaints. The BBB lists 4 satisfactory resolutions out of a 1000. My business is going elsewhere. Management and service is worthless. "Buyer beware."

Where do I begin? A company with no telephone option to speak to anyone at the corporate level. They want you to write a letter - LOL (its 2020). That should tell you a lot about this company. They talk about customer service being important but it s only lip-service. Don t believe me? Try calling their office in Eau Claire. Tried calling COO Collet told he doesn t take customer calls and the gal hung up on me. Sent letter to John Menard Jr got a email from Jason Larson a buyer in Hardware. I have spent a month on. Generac pressure washer that I do not have a receipt. The COO will not take a call from a long customer. Use the email or fax so the don t have to deal with your issue. Everyone needs to leave feedback so they realize the money they are losing from good customers. Until my issue is resolved I will spend my dollars elseware. If it is ever taken care of I will take this down. If it is still up it was never resolved. Interesting they spend millions on racing to get customers to the stores. They lose customers because of poor service. I followed Menards very closely but because of Three hundred dollar Generac machine and Mr Collette and Lance at the St Cloud Mn store and Jason Larson. Until resolved I m using Home Depot. The billionaire has allowed his company to forget about the little People. Customer service training would be worth every dime and the COO should not be in his position as he will not even take a call. I had a issue with Carnival cruise lines and the VP fixed it in two days. Extremely unreal. If we all keep posting the poor service maybe we. Can get them to zero on google review. Everything on here is about customer service.

Manager, Mike Humphrey. Store Manager, at 3101 South Oakes Road in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, needs to take a course in customer service and leadership service. I was upset that the 12 timbers I purchased were warped. I expressed my dissatisfied and yelled while at times using foul language. Instead of offering a credit or calling a different store and making the order satisfactory. He didn't disfuse the situation but offered excuses. Then proceeded to yell at me and tell me to get off get out of his store. I will NEVER purchase anything at Menards again. I will also ensure his manager is aware of his rude behavior and lack of empathy to correct Menards error.

Over this weekend, my husband and I bought $850 worth of building materials and requested help loading because it was so much material. My husband and I drove around to the back to retrieve our load. 2 employees walked past my husband and said they were busy and basically refused to help. We waited for about 20 minutes with no one willing to help so we decided to load it ourselves to save the time we've already lost from the previous shopping experience we had (read on if you want to know about that). I called the store to complain to the manager "Darryl" but he absolutely did NOTHING to help mediate the situation. He didn't come to the bay to help us load, he didn't page for other employees assistance, but instead he sat on the phone I insisiting that his store is ran in a professional manner. This is the second time I've had to deal with this manager. The first time we ordered about $400 worth of flooring and we sat and waited for it to be cut and brought out for 45 minutes and when I had enough waiting, I called and spoke to this "Darryl" and he gave us an extra 4" on our laminate. That actually hindered our progress because we had the laminate cut to size and then had to go home and cut it ourselves to fit properly. If he would've just left the 4 inches off, we would've been better off! Every time we go to the Joliet menards it's always one fiasco after the other. While in the plumbing section I asked the lady for a drain kit and she insisted that the faucet I was buying came with one. She was rude for one and for 2 has no idea what she was talking about bc there was no drain kit in the box. We are in the middle of a whole house reno and I refuse to ever go to the Joliet menards again. Once I get my doors for my whole house (they're only sold at menards) I will never set foot in another menards again. This place is a joke.
On a side the note, the kid that works in the electrical department is an awesome guy and a great help. I wish I could pick him up and take him to the crest hill store. I wish I knew his name to give him a good nod despite this sour review.

Menards NEEDS to audit their stores properly and do as follows. They NEED to REMOVE all turn-styles at the front doors. If a fire or emergency breaks out. These barriers will NOT allow for proper evacuation of the stores! I dont like them, because when I walk through them, they literally hit me below the belt and make for an unpleasant week. I almost thought about filing suit on this one. Next thing. Menards NEEDS to audit male restrooms. There is NO barriers between the wall-toilets in the facility. It is gross getting splash-over from the next person to the side.

What I would like to see happen with menards is them REDUCING their signature jingle they play over the loud speaker. We get it. Menards has an 80s theme to it. But it is NOT necessary anymore. Most people Grasp the concept at this point.

As a former contractor I can already say that Menards lacks variety in the plumbing department especially. They need to work on expanding the parts they sell here.

My wife and I go to pick-up a door that is on sale. Ad doesn't say it's a special order, the Menards door representative tells us he will get one in for us, but it will take 5 to7 days. OK! It comes in, I go pick it up, the dock representative loads it. Took it home in the truck laid flat in the bed, go to pull it out and the door jamb pin is not in. Things are flopping around, turn the door over and the center piece of jamb is torn loose. When I went too return it they said there would be a 25% restocking fee. The 1st floor manager called the 2nd floor door manager and said the same, except he accused me, on the 1st floor managers phone, of damaging the door and he would have to see it. (How insulting is that!) should have inspected it before I left the lot! The door manager said he was busy, I had to wait for him to come see the door! About 35-40 minutes go by, finally the 1st floor manager came back over and gave me the full refund! Tried to call the corporate office, but I was told to send it in writing. Typical large Walmart type corporation, don't want to talk to a real person. At this point I won't go back there again to be accused of purposely damaging something for the refund! DAMAGED IS DAMAGED, no matter how you look at it! Went to Home Depot and got the same door without special ordering and it was all wood split jamb. With the trim attached for less than purchasing everything separately. LOST MY BUSINESS, thanks Menards for the accusations and the bad experiences!!!!!!!!! The 1st floor manager was their savior! Ordered a full kitchen but they separated it into 5 different orders from three separate stores. Only the stores were not given access to the order. Only one store even attempted delivery but not for every item on their portion of the order. Called corporate for help and argued for 45 minutes because they refused to call the stores to find out where the products were and when they would be delivered. They have a policy of only communicating via email and do not have a call center for customer service.

The fact that you cannot reach anyone for customer service issues is pretty much a flag that I wish I would have seen before I spent thousands of dollars on kitchen cabinets. Having a problem with shelf stability and lost most of my crystal wine glasses along with multiple sets of dishes recently. Getting bounced around from one person to the next and cannot reach anyone at corporate for assistance.....send a letter or a fax and they will try to get back with you in 30 days or so..... Really? Did not get that service when I was spending thousands of dollars. How do companies get away with this type of service?? Disgusted to say the least!!!!

Im a small remodeling company. I shop at menards every day of the week. Home depot, Lowes, need to learn. Im in and out. Not wanting to search for stuff in store like home depot or Lowes. Time consuming and doesn't work. I travel all united states. But never found a more real layout plan and know where Im going. Don't need my phone to find what isle its in. Always same area every store. Efficiency is key not laziness. So yes 100% menards over home depot and Lowes.

My "go to" diy retailer. From a simple project to three additions to my home Menards has always been there to help. I can see why they have grown with professional contractors. They offer multiple grades of products so you can do a simple repair or major remodel.
Special Ordering has been easy with pretty accurate information on availability. Prices are VERY COMPETITIVE against Home Depot and Lowe's.

You can't two people they don't have a customer service line where you could call up and ask questions or make complaints everything is through the mail it's just unbelievable they must be so into themselves that they they just they don't need that they don't need to customers they don't need to do decent things for people like when you go in their stores they only have two handicap carts what is this these people they live in a glass house they have to buy a new Boulder Mercedes or a new Learjet they can't afford to get like maybe 10 handicap chairs for their customers that keep them in business I don't get it with these people that they're just it's not like it used to be old school where the customer's always right and you can listen to people and can actually talk to a person when you need something it's just it's just it's just ridiculous

Anyone every try to contact Menards Corporate or try a customer service line? Good luck because it does not exist. Customer service from the top down is awful. This is just a big box store hiding so it can avoid its customers. If you do call the home office they have a sweet lady that is worthless when it comes to helping, she will answer the phone and will just send you off to a pre-recorded message that ask you to mail in your questions or concerns. If I am correct Menards is a privately owned company and its a good thing because shareholders would demand an organization like this be held to a higher standard. I am so glad I have many other options like Lowes, Home Depot, and any other hardware store I can find the same products at. People say "you get what you pay for" and I will pay for something better than the outhouse operation Menards runs. It is truly hard to believe they have made it this far and became as big as they are, operating in a space where competitor's actually treat their customers with importance. I will be shocked if there is any response to this or anything changed for I am only one person. I am sure I will not have a negative impact on this big box store. However I am sure that time will reveal the fate of any corporation that choses to put themselves first and their customers last.

No help in the Clio, Mi store. No way to buy a gas grill June 3. Tx store manager. No answer. Called switchboard once to find manager rang 5 minutes they dodnt answer. Called corporate office wouldn't take my complaint or have store manager call me. I recommend not bothering with this company. Glad I didn't buy anything because you won't get help if it's needed.
