Horrible service. They protect criminal hosts and do nothing to exclude them. Feedbacks are processed, so that only perfect feedbacks stay there. Our account was suspended for an attempt to share data about dangerous host.
There are no any control of standarts and safety. A lot of risks for guests that are not mentioned in their agreement.
Furthermore they manage to let our transaction with changed user data to be processed. We need that to obtain visa. That is a perfect background for money laundering.
They ebven manage to violate their own rules.

I made a booking with Airbnb in December 2018 and paid half the amount in advance. I was later contacted by the agent for the host and told that he required the apartment for two days of my booking and they would move me during the stay to an alternative apartment. This was not acceptable as I consider the host inconveniencing the customer in this way, bad business practice. I then asked for a discount due to the trouble and made an offer. The agent failed to confirm the dates or provide a discount acceptance. After contacting Airbnb, a number of times with no resolution or confirmation; I cancelled the booking. Airbnb tried to take a service fee from the payment which included cleaning, even though we had cancelled well in advance due to their poor business practice, which we considered a breach of contract. We later found out that the Airbnb policy was to give a discount and the agent withheld this. We threatened to sue and finally received a full refund. I would not use this organization again and other reviews I have read paint a very poor picture with both customers and hosts complaining. You do not make money in business by acting in this way and they fell short of acceptable business standards in this matter. Hosts who think that they can treat customers any way they want to, may occur and if Airbnb does not properly intervene then these sorts of problems will continue, with it sure to impact on their business. I therefore do not recommend using this organization, customer service is still in its infancy as seen from this experience.

I have only used Airbnb twice. Both times I have not been satisfied with the service. I am a regular user of VRBO and Home & Away and have never had any problems after multiple trips. For Airbnb I had to send several emails to both Airbnb and the host after the cancellation of our latest booking due to the COVID19 pandemic. Airbnb dragged their feet in processing the refund saying that it was up to the host and when contacting the host they denied that they were paid by Airbnb. The cancellation was at the end of March and it is now June and I still have not received my refund. Although to be fair they did get it processed and I should be receiving it in the next 15 days. Airbnb did however retained a portion of my deposit and charged me for the taxes, even though the booking was cancelled. I have a $500 voucher from Airbnb that I am unlikely to use due to the ongoing issues around the continent. The voucher expires at the end of this year. All in all, I am out approximately a third of my deposit. I would not recommend Airbnb to anyone for vacation property booking.

I have been using airbnb as a host for 2 years at my houses in both Scottsdale and San Francisco. Not every guest is perfect, but most of them are the most wonderful, thoughtful, interesting people you could ever hope to meet. I've made some great friends and met some truly amazing people.
The money is pretty nice, too.

Airbnb is in VIOLATION of its Terms of Service!!! I would like to bring to your attention the recent DEFAMATORY and INACCURATE review published by recent guests on my Airbnb PUBLIC PROFILE (confirmation code HMARPZYKSB). This review accuses me of RACISM, breaking into and entering the guest's rental, attemptIng extortion, and threatening them. There is no evidence that any of these charges are true. In fact they are all false, and came only after I opened a resolution center case to recover DAMAGES CAUSED by these guest to my property (Resolution Center 12795222 Host Guarantee 7787290 Resolution Case). This review is a CLEAR VIOLATION of Airbnb's "Terms of Service", Section 10.2, that states "ratings and reviews by guests and hosts must be accurate and may not contain any offensive or defamatory language." Given the extreme seriousness of the allegations against me, I have repeatedly contacted Airbnb's customer service to request this review be removed from my profile. A customer service team has refused to do this. And I have also been denied access to a supervisory review of this decision. I am a long-term SUPERHOST, with an unblemished record of 5 star reviews. I ve never had to face such dishonest and PERSONALLY DEFAMATORY charges by a guest in a public review. I am even more upset by Airbnb's refusal to honor their Terms of Service. Ken Deavers

We had a horrible experience. We using this app. We used it during our trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The host accused us of taking some bed cover sheets, we showed our bags to the host to proved that we didn t have the blankets. The host charged the amount from our credit card, even knowing that we didn t have the blankets. We end up moving to a Best Eestern Hotel. I wouldn t recommend this app since they don t take the time to research about the hosts and the places and we as users end up facing this type of risks and problems.

Dear Airbnb HQ,
Dear Airbnb HQ,
My first attempt to use your platform fell way below my expectations. I'm a young profession who wished to travel with some friends for a couple of days, but because your service allows people to discriminate against 20-somethings, I was unable to find a host willing to take "groups." Though they're listings say they can sleep up to six people, the refused to house my friends and I because we don't have children.
Not all young people are wild hooligans who will destroy property, and I find the stereotype insulting. Furthermore, that's what security deposits are for. Hosts even blocked out the days I wanted, so I could not book their listing. Others outright to me they would not accept my group.
Secondly, your website is wildly misleading. I shouldn't set my price range at $300 a night and when I click on a listing, the price shoot up to $900. I know there are fees, but that's ridiculous. It seems as those your hosts are just trying to lure people in by dangling a good price and make the rest of their profit in cleaning fees, rendering your modifications pretty much useless.
Also, the fact that hosts have the free reign to cancel at any time is problematic. I could go on with the issues I have with your company, but it's not worth it.
So, for these reasons I did not use your service, and I never will. I'll wait for your rival site to launch, and I'll use their service instead since they respect their customers.

My boyfriend reserved a place and it ended up. Cancelling on us, so I made an account and tried it out.. we found a GREAT house and reserved three nights (july3-July6).. the host cancelled two weeks out on us and we reserved it a little over a month in advanced. Now we cannot find a place for the price we can afford (and airbnb only gives a 10% "help" budget if you find a new place) or close to where everyone else we are meeting is. Oh and the hassle of getting our refund right now sucks.. they're stake should bumped up a little with how shotty the service is.. like 25% or I'm the minimum..

Airbnb is a complete JOKE! As a host i've received a 1099 Misc every year since i stared hosting for Airbnb back in 2016. Now all of sudden a pandemic starts and i m locked out of my account, meaning i don t have access to my 1099 Misc. I've been reaching out to Airbnb speaking to multiple representatives since March. Each representative has quoted the same exact response Sorry to hear you re locked out your account i m going to forward your ticket to a higher department and mark it as urgent someone should get back to you within 24 hours regarding you concerns. BS i haven't received a call back for months now! I m at a point where i m willing to purchase a $500 flight to San Fransisco from to DC just to get my 1099 Misc but wait i spoke to a Airbnb representative today asking if i could visit the HQ building to receive my 1099 Misc, of course the representative didn't have a answer for me. So now i can t get a call back from a case manger and i can t fly to the head quarters because i might just be waisting my time and money. So here i am with my 5 year old son during a pandemic not able to file my 2019 income taxes. Not being able to apply for unemployment. Not being able to apply for a small business loan. All because Airbnb can t seem to unlock my account so i can have access to my 1099 Misc. This pandemic has been stressful enough and Airbnb has added on extra stress! I give UP!!!

After being an airbnb host for 8 years and a guest...
After being an airbnb host for 8 years and a guest for longer, I do not trust airbnb anymore and I advise people to BEWARE of their shady business practices. We stayed in an airbnb in Antibes and it was OK. However, the bed in the main bedroom was broken prior to us arriving. Because the headboard straight up fell when it was touched. We looked at it and it was broken in two places. We told the owner who told us, frankly, that she was going to try and get airbnb to pay for it and thus was going to make a claim through airbnb because she was trying to become airbnb plus and she knew they paid hosts money to cover certain things.
Well, after receiving a claim where she lied to airbnb claiming that we said it was our daughter who broke the bed (we never claimed such a thing), we wrote our reply, which was the truth written above.
I received a message about a week later from airbnb saying they are charging us for the ENTIRE amount of money (nearly $400). I wrote to dispute this and they told me they wouldn't respond to any more messages. The crazy part is that this was a story of "he said, she said". The fact that I know the host lied to airbnb while telling me straight up she wanted airbnb to give her money, even though she gave us a broken bed to begin with, is something airbnb has to just trust me with. But I can only imagine what lies the host told airbnb about us, even though we actually did NOTHING to make the bed break. We simply used it as it's intended purpose. So I can only ascertain that airbnb doesn't care about its guests and tries to placate its hosts. There is no way we should be paying any money, let alone ALL of it. Maybe if they had done a compromise I wouldn't be so irate, even though that would still be unfair, because we were given a broken bed, but at least, for a "he said she said" situation it would make more sense from airbnbs perspective.
How can I possibly trust airbnb again? Any host can just lie that a guest broke something and make the guest pay for it. And airbnb does NOT have your back as a guest. The company is shady in its dispute process.
At the moment I'm staying in a new airbnb that has poor construction for nearly everything. I plugged in my computer, and when I unplugged it, the outlet popped out of the wall. The shower doesn't work properly. What's to stop the host from blaming it on me (the guest) and making me pay for it?
I've realized for the headaches, extra stress and hassle, airbnb just isn't worth it. There are other sites to use. They just lost a longtime customer. Don't trust them.

I had many nice stays with Airbnb but it s definitely unreliable. The host can cancel several days before arrival and get away with ZERO penalties. Happed to me many times. By doing so they encourage hosts to cancel for no reason ruining travelers plans. They need to make hosts to be responsible by applying huge penalties for their cancellations! Because now it s like I decided to throw a party at my apartment this Friday and there s your booking on the way. So I ll just cancel it . Airbnb right now is a Russian roulette.

I am very dissatisfied with my experience with air B&B I booked it for 3 weeks cost me almost $500 and then when I asked for a refund due to covid-19 no one has responded the host only gave me back 50% of my money even though it was 7 days before I was supposed to check in I do not recommend them they're not honest I think it's a scam how can they take my money when I hadn't even got close to my enter date due to covid-19 is not my fault I deserve full refund I will not book with this company ever again I don't recommend them.

From the exterior, I do not know that this is the office of Airbnb. The office 1st floor is an open space and it is a public area so anyone can use it. There are also washroom, restaurant and public WiFi. Registration is necessary to enter the office, and if you are reserving in advance or you know someone, show the ID and put a sticker on it. Although I was allowed to see the inside of the office, I feel exactly the world view of the air ball with my skin. Each conference room is designed with the theme of each country and it seems to be tough to compete in the company to secure a favorite conference room all the time.

Copied from feedback provided on Air BnB site under my profile: "The help personnel are giving inconsistent details on extenuating circumstances cancellations. Twice my wife has called and once myself in the past week to cancel a reservation and attempt to get a refund. My wife was told both times she would receive verbal call back in 24-48 hours to verify cancellation and refund details but did not. I was told that since the reservation is past that no one can now help but I should receive call back with no time frame. The lies told to my wife and inability of people to authorize a cancellation and refund basically tells me I cannot trust your business anymore and you don't have a real valid process to account for extenuating circumstances. I will be posting reviews to multiple sites to ensure no one else is hoodwinked by your shady business practices. "

AirBNB is terrible and does not match their marketing. I am underwhelmed and unimpressed with their platform and their customer service.
I planned a 17 day DoD business trip in May 2020. Due to Covid, DoD cancelled all travel. Consequently, I cancelled the trip, and asked for a refund. I provided the DoD order, letters on company letterhead attesting to the cancelled event, provided the federal contract ID so they could verify that my firm was on a government contract. I held multiple phone calls and exchanged numerous messages with customer service, since their extenuating circumstance policy specifically allowed for reimbursement due to a government mandate. AirBNB still wanted more documentation. I don't think any amount of documentation will suffice for them.
Oh...I didn't get a refund. If that wasn't clear.

After going through the reviews it's easy to see this is where people come to complain. I'll leave my compliments here. I had a very pleasant experience with Airbnb this summer. My family and I stayed in 5 different homes, and they were all amazing. I could see how problems could arise. Please be cautious and read reviews of hosts/people. You are taking a risk by accepting a request by someone with no reviews. Risk assessment is the name of the game.
To the person that had the issue of providing proof that your home smelled like stank weed: box some linens and give it to them. Blow some smoke in a jar and mail it to them. It's a bit ridiculous for you to provide proof. The best solution would be for you to file a police report. Then send the report to them. Get a credible person with no vested interest in the matter to make a statement.

I tried to stay at an Airbnb in Miami. Long story short, the listing was illegal and the cops showed up which meant I had to find another place to stay list-minute. The Airbnb rep told me they'd call me within an hour. I ended up waiting more than 4 hours, until it was already dark.
It took me months of communicating to have them provide a solution, which wasn't even a full refund but instead a coupon, which has an expiration date. I asked them to at least refund it as travel credit since I hardly ever travel for more than a few days, other than that time in Miami, but they said they "can't do that".
I've been a Superhost for years, but this kind of disinterested to the point of being rude customer "service" just ticks me off. Unless they get their act together I will be finding an alternative as soon as possible.

I am appalled! Their response to travel changes and cancellations due to COVID-19 is abhorrent! If they continue to mis-manage this situation like they are, they re going to have a huge class-action lawsuit on their hands. What they re doing is flat-out wrong.
Upon cancellation, they are issuing either a small, negligible and, frankly, insulting amount of money back or a travel voucher in the full amount, which is basically in store credit. In order to receive a full discount, they are requiring that you send government-sourced documents proving you are unable to travel. The simple, proven fact that COVID-19 can show no symptoms but still be spread should be proof enough. Instead, they re insinuating that it is still perfectly safe to travel unless the government has expressly told you otherwise. This is ludicrous.
The AirBnB executives should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Your heinous decision to show a lack of realistic sympathy and understanding during this time will cost you greatly in the form of losing a great deal of loyal customers and/or money. I will never again use your service and will encourage every person I come in contact with to do the same. If I do not get my full refund, I will pursue all legal action necessary on the grounds of corporate misconduct and negligence.
I am using and recommending HomeAway, VRBO, Flipkey, TripAdvisor or Booking.com moving forward.

We recently stayed at Green Haven in the Dandenongs Vic Aust. House was extremely homely and clean plus setting was excellent, loved the wood fire and the large billiard table plus buffet breakfast at PJ's being included was a nice touch. Minor items that need attention are rear screen door could not be opened latch not working all external doors could not be latched so you could access from both sides. We had a power outage on arrival in the area, as the light was failing we looked for candles or torches but torch battery was flat and a sign said no candles allowed? Driveway was extremely steep and very difficult to drive down & up in normal vehicles due to deep pot holes / gravel.
The Address was listed as Old Sherbrooke Rd but this did not come up on any NAV systems, House was in Brayside ? Would stay again and would recommend to friends.

Terrible customer service. They will not let you talk to a supervisor. They will only transfer you to another incompetent person. They can't fix simple problems. It's a nightmare. Use VRBO or home away. I have had multiple listings for several years and have A+ rating and a superhisr. They got my account all screwed up and deleted all my listings. I've called corporate office a million times and I keep getting some customer service that refuses to forward me to the corporate headquarters. I've asked for supervisor after supervisor no one will call me back it's been days and I'm missing out on all my bookings and now the people that have booked are calling me non-stop wanting to know the issues so I have to refer them to HomeAway and the other websites. Airbnb was great in the beginning but now it's a complete joke and a nightmare. They too have waited weeks before releasing payments to my account. Do not use them I would highly recommend the other companies such as HomeAway and VRBO.

If there are a choice for minus (-) five stars, we would give it to this company! Their customer service reps are proud and rude, we do not know why except it is now a temporarily trendy company. We are new to their website, and tried to register as owners of a vacation rental property, but we never had a chance to finish the registration, even after answering their personal questions! They promised their tech support will contact us to solve the problems but we received a condescending and insulting reply indicating they will "permanently deactivate our right to use their website!" Apparently, if you complain about this company, they will lock you out. This arbitrary treatment forced us go to go TripAdvisor.

Terrible customer service. They say they are here...
Terrible customer service. They say they are here to protect guests from bad hosts, but in fact they are there simply to string you along while they do nothing. I have been on the phone with six different AirBnB case managers about a problematic host who has been completely unresponsive for multiple weeks following booking. Each case manager seems to know less about my case than the last, and now my "escalated" case manager is unreachable, even by other AirBnB agents. AirBnB has done nothing except repeatedly extend my waiting time. Meanwhile I cannot book a new reservation, and availability is decreasing and rising in price.

I am SO disappointed with Air BnB! I can't believe...
I am SO disappointed with Air BnB! I can't believe they have managed to stay in business this long!
First, I had a guest staying 45 days. 30-days into the stay, I rec'd an email from Air BnB telling me that they were having difficulty collecting the 2nd payment and that Air BnB is not liable! Really, a guest can stay without paying & Air BnB is not responsible?! What would keep someone who wants to sam from doing this again & again?!
Second, another completely separate incident: a guest did a lot of damage! She had two small dogs, which we allowed. We send a lot of pictures, receipts, service bills for stained carpets, etc. Air BnB unilaterally made the decision to NOT to allow any funds to be paid to us from the Security Deposit. When I tried to ask about it and try to have a discussion with the case manager, I was told to "move on" that it was not going to happen! We ate all those repairs!
Finally, we also use HomeAway and they are great! Here is what they do/allow that Air BnB does not: adding additional fees for add-on services including SALES TAX, which is required by most cities; the homeowner is paid IN ADVANCE of a guest arriving! There is an option for Damage Protection Insurance which allows us as a homeowner to submit any amount (even small things like broken mugs or stained pillow cases) to get reimburse for. There are a lot of other small reasons but I'll end with, finally, it is MUCH easier to get through to HomeAway's customer service number without being on hold forever!!
VERY disappointed in Air BnB!

Airbnb is terrible to deal with! Most of the representatives speak poor English. I called 5 times to try to get an issue in my account fixed. I provided a Confirmation Code which brings up the account with my correct name and phone number, but it has an email that is not one of mine. They want me to confirm the email address. I have no idea what they have. They also refuse to connect me to a supervisor unless I can confirm my email address. I've already had $1045.10 deducted from my bank account but they keep telling me I don't have a reservation. It looks like I have no other choice but to call the bank and dispute that charge!

I left $500 in cash in a wallet that I left at one of my stays. The hostess admitted to having found my item. This was all documented on the airbnb email site, yet she was only willing to give it back through the mail. Since you can t send money through the mail, I complained to airbnb. This was over a month ago and nobody has returned my call. There is ALWAYS a case manager on the case, is always marked urgent and yet no return calls. In the meantime, Airbnb deleted every message I had and now they deleted my account! I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am thinking of contacting a lawyer.
DON T USE AIRBNB!!
I booked a reservation on the morning of January ...
I booked a reservation on the morning of January 10, 2019, for the dates of February 1-4, 2019, in Atlanta, Georgia. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from the host stating that she wanted to change my reservation, so she could increase the price, due to it being Super Bowl weekend. I was prompted to accept or decline the price increase in the email to which I declined, because a price hike after booking a reservation is an unfair business practice. The host then decided to cancel my reservation, because I stood firm against her price gouging attempt. The representative at Airbnb assured me that the host would be duly penalized for canceling the reservation which was only right, especially since attempting to price gouge a customer is not a valid reason for canceling a reservation. According to the representative, that host would receive a 100.00 fine and be disallowed from listing her property during the dates of my reservation, which would result in a loss on the host s behalf. This resolution not only made me feel better, it made me feel as though Airbnb was the type of company who valued their customers and would not tolerate a host canceling reservations. As I would soon find out, Airbnb do not stand behind their policy. Despite, the egregious policy infraction, Airbnb not only waved the host s fine, but allowed her to re-list the exact same property for the dates I had booked minutes later at the the exponential price hike that the host wanted. So in essence this host, broke their policy and was rewarded for it and not penalized. This was also the host s third time canceling a reservation, so she was not a first time offender. This was my first time booking with Airbnb and this company left a terrible first impression on me. They should have honored their policy, fined that host and not allowed her to re-list her property especially for an invalid reason! It s only January 10, 2019. So Airbnb has plenty of time to take that listing down from the dates that she is supposed to be unable to list due to canceling my reservation (Feb. 1-4, 2019)

My family and I stayed at Anthony Ramirez's house @91 Kenrock, SA, TX. He told lies in his review about me. He accused us of staining his sofa and of course AirBnB sided with him. It cost me $90 extra. I left him a nice review, even though there was not a comfortable bed in the house and only one real bed which was in poor condition. I had to pay for a message and visit my chiropractor after staying there.I was expecting a nice experience where I could be with my family while we were there to visit more family. Lousy, lousy, lousy experience. Rotten picky, arrogant host. Beware. Anthony is a lier and a cheat.

This is how up to date AirBNB is on Technology. If you haven't used AirBNB recently and you don't know which credit card you used last with them... 4 years ago!!... they have no way to resend you a password reset. And their website site is so poorly programmed, no matter how many times you request for a password reset email, it never arrives. It gets even better, they literally ask what my confirmation number was from my last AirBNB...from 4 years ago... Seriously? Why would I keep a confirmation number for an airbnb reservation from 4 years ago! WHAT A TECHNOLOGICALLY INEPT COMPANY. So to the person at 357 Main Street, Cold Spring, NY, AirBNB just cost you a 4 month reservation.

One of your St Pete's beach owners lost the opportunity to rent their condo because of Airbnb's policy of requiring everything about me except my social security number. Really invasive sign up to use the service--I'm the idiot if I give you all my contact personal data! Not doing business with Airbnb!

My profile just stop working. I can't make reservations or send messages to hosts. Three time I sent message to support and only two time they answered that some one else will help me. Two months later and nothing. Still I can't use profile so I just have to delete it and will never make new. Stay away from airbnb because they will not help you. You are on your own if there is big problems.

It is impossible to reach any corporate rep. This is the worst company I have experienced in 35 yrs of travel. You would be a fool to do business with Airbnb.

Ummm..gosh where to start..I'm a first time host with Airbnb..my listing was rented for 6 months in Nov which is great.. however, Airbnb sent me an earnings statement for entire amt when I am actually only receiving monthly payouts for Nov and Dec..I've called 4 times regarding this matter, get the run around everytime and told 4 times someone would call me..in fact I'm on hold right now cause they are looking for address for me to send my complaint. Further I had major difficulties with my tenant. Airbnb called them but never followed up with me..horrible to di business with..this info is important for my taxes. So I'm going to have to go to the BBB. I guess cause none has answers..
airbnb is running a scam with their cancellation p...
airbnb is running a scam with their cancellation policies and extenuating circumstances. They will not put in writing what they tell me over the phone, yet they have promised to do so at least 7 times with 4 different agents. What real company works like this. When you book they present a payment schedule of first payment and then second payment along with a cancellation date for 100% and 50% refund. Forget the 100% date - it shouldn't even be posted there because you also have to have cancelled within 48 hours of booking so why put a date at all
BUT
it is the 50% cancellation that is totally dishonest. They list a date in which you can cancel. I tried to cancel over 5 days ago but would only be getting 19 dollars of the 375 that I gave them- hardly 50%. They state that the accommodation money that would be refunded "means" that a guest would have had to pay it in full initially - if that is the case then 1) why do they put down a cancellation date stating 50% refund on a page that has a 2 payment schedule AND no where is it stated that the amount paid initially determines whether one can get a refund at all - and that explanation that they give over the phone is NOWHERE in writing. So, after about 10 phone calls and numerous emails I said just put in writing in an email what you explained to me and I will cancel - they said they would , but they don't. Now, WHY is that? I have already paid half of the rental and they won't refund so why should I cancel when it is obvious deceit and they are doubling their money.
Lastly, they said I could be eligible for "extenuating circumstances" like a medical condition so 1) I asked who makes that determination? their small group in the Philippines do so obviously I then tell them my condition and ask if it qualifies well - they can't tell me that until I cancel.
I am just waiting for one of them to put in writing the cancellation "policy" as stated to me. Why do they say they will do it and they don't? Am I the only one that see a scam here?

Company is a scam. I set my currency to Canadian, all the ads are in Canadian prices. But when I booked I got charged in US. After a short discussion explaining the discrepancy. They accused me of changing the currency to US. I disagreed that I changed it and Airbnb wrote "I can assure you that it was selected on your behalf". So you SELECTED it on my behalf. Why? You can make so much money from me. Go ask Uber. Like I said. The difference was $400. I'll consider it a $400 bad date. I don't ever want to see you again. Maybe at your trial.

I am a RN who came from Tucson AZ to work on the Covid-19 frontlines. I rented an Airbnb that advertised as a private studio . The place was anything but private. I contacted the host and airbnb on day 2, with my issues, stating that my position is very very stressful and emotionally draining. I informed them that it is necessary for me to have a private place to have for what off time I do have, and I needed rest. I could not stay, especially since my sleep was being interrupted. Airbnb charged me 2300 dollars for 6 nights, saying I booked for 2 months and it was policy not to refund. I spent hours upon hours of what free time I do have Trying to resolve this. I asked multiple times to have Corporate to contact me. I also filed 2 complaints with the Better Business Bureau asking for resolution and to have Corporate to contact me. I also asked them to be kind and consider what I am going through.
I came to fight the Covid Crisis and it now with the hotel I had to rent and the $2300 airbnb charged me, is costing me over $7000 out of pocket. This is very poor and lacks of compassion or kindness during such a crisis, especially with us on the front lines.

Total rip off!! Hosts won't let you in their place unless you give them cash on the side. Just had a host cancel my Christmas weekend reservation because I wouldn't pay in cash more than double the price on my CONFIRMED RESERVATION! (on Christmas eve no less, how biblical!) Airbnb said they couldn't do anything. Wouldn't even help me find a new place near by. Sent me an email giving me $15 off my next reservation, oh wow.

AirBnb could care less about their customers. I had to get BBB involved in order to finally get this resolved. The whole process took 9 months!
After reserving on Airbnb, myself and 3 other guests were scheduled to stay at 65 Verde Valley School Road A9, Sedona, AZ 86351, United States from August 31, 2018 to September 3, 2018.
When we arrived to the location, the condition was not as promised.
First, the condo was dirty. This includes pet hair on the floors/furniture, dirty carpets with significant stains in them, the condo smelled of pet urine, and dried food on the surfaces of the cabinets/door
handles. Second, the air conditioning system/evaporation cooler was not functional. There was a note from the owner on how to use the thermostat; however, after sitting in the condo for 30 minutes, it did
not cool off nor could we feel any breeze/air flow. The window A/C was also not operational and the house was hot upon arrival even though the conditions of the condo promised 70 degrees Fahrenheit. We were instructed by the owner not to open windows or doors to let in a breeze, so the temperature was very uncomfortable. We found the weather outside the condo more bearable. Third, the condo was not kept up and had several amenities that were broken besides the window A/C and evaporation cooler. The drawers in the kitchen were off their track and falling out of the cabinets. The fridge had lost power and there was a block of ice in the freezer which did not give us confidence that it would store or cool our food appropriately. Lastly, the condo was outdated. Although this may seem superficial, it was not portrayed accurately
in the pictures listed online. The bed mattresses were lumpy and you could see the indentation of use. The bedding and towels throughout the house were frayed, pilled, thin, and falling apart. The furniture was dirty, worn, and frayed.
Given these conditions, and the fact that I was traveling with a small child, I could not stay in a place that could risk the health and safety of our travelling party. I contacted Evolve through the Airbnb site/application instantly after arriving to the condo because of the condition. My entire travelling party agreed that the condition was as promised or safe. I did not received a reply or contact from Evolve until 2 days after the initial request even though the response time was promised at 24 hours. We had quite a bit of conversation back and forth where I informed them of the condition of the condo, sent them pictures (repeatedly), and then finally had to dispute the charges. Communication took place from August 31, 2018 until September 6, 2018.
Seeing that my issue was not getting resolved, I contacted Airbnb in order to get assistance. I was informed to click on "Involve Airbnb" on their site, which I did, and the next reply was that they could not help and to leave feedback if I'd like. In addition, I submitted pictures through their
website/application which did not get sent over to Evolve (the rental company/host) which then delayed critical information getting to them along with having to submit the pictures directly to them myself.
The resolution center/"Involve Airbnb" is not set up correctly because doesn't provide the host with the information they need in a timely manner in order to resolve the issue and wastes the customer's time if they are not actually able to resolve the issue. In addition, I asked that this listing be removed and Evolve not allowed to list on their website since the location was unsafe and the condo was not as advertised. The listing and company are still up on the Airbnb website.
Unfortunately we were not able to get this resolved. I had to contact BBB in order to get AirBnb to finally respond to the issue. I had to send over documentation 4 times before I finally called BBB and told them that the requested documentation had been sent which allowed them to escalate the complaint to the next level. It wasn't until this last escalation that AirBnb finally attempted to resolve the issue.
