Inequality of treatment! The host cancels my booking 3 days before my arrival and I get nothing but my money back; nothing to cover for my distress and inconvenience.
If I cancelled, they'd refund me the only the cleaning fee! IS THIS FAIR?

Stayed 2 nights at the Haley 1905 House in Santa Barbara.

Minuses: Our 'host' never replied to my email nor my voicemail message. Yet he reached out on our last day to ask how soon we could get out of the house. Clean all the ceiling fan/light fixtures. In bathroom 3, fix shower (water comes out of shower head and faucet at same time); replace the torn shower curtain. No hot water in bathroom 2. Kitchen ceiling fan/light looks like it's ready to fall down.

Plus: conveniently located to downtown State Street, restaurants, shops, beach. Quiet neighborhood.

COVID-19: AIRBNB would NOT REFUND my payment even though the host was willing by their own policy to provide a credit good for two years. The CANCELLATION was made MORE THAN 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE.

WORSE, AirBnB KEPT HALF of my MONEY without a refund but did not provide the money to the host. Moreover, TRAVEL POLICIES of the STATE of UTAH state NOT TO TRAVEL unless necessary. AIRBNB BELIEVES THEY HAVE POLICIES WHICH SUPERSEDE THE CDC and STATE of UTAH.

NO ONE from AIRBNB has made amends and have simply referred me to policies on their website. NEVER USE AIRBNB -- and #NOBAILOUTS for AIRBNB!!!

I attempted to reserve a room at airbnb in Tucson. They requested my picture And driver's license. I sent it with my credit card information. Airbnb charged my card the entire amount, then sent me an email saying to send another picture, which I did, but they would not accept, because it did not look like me!!! So essentially, I was charged without a confirmed reservation. What a mess! and then when I cancelled, due to the mix up I was told it would take approximately two weeks to have the money returned too my credit card!!!

They do not support nor do they care about the safety or well being of the guest that pay to stay at boat houses.

I have never been so scared
Drug dealers when I showed up to the property, left ASAP. Now, Air B and B are saying I can't have my money back. Police reported, also my husband is involved in cyber security we found an adware malware on your app along with The fact you can not access your messages if you flag / report an issue with company. The worst two days I have ever put down trying to get my money refunded. Now it's going to court. Trust me when I tell you * it's just not worth it * , it is not safe, no support when there's an issue. I'm so upset by this company. Terrible ! Not to mention being on the look out for rogue cameras - not safe for you , children or your families. Stay away

I have used it for my South America trip. Firstly, I found it was very good system, you can get immediately response of reservation document and payment receipt by email. You can easily to know the reference of the host and place where you like to stay. However, I got trouble when I like to extend my stay for a 2 weeks more. The computer cannot offer me a normal reservation by the computer system with normal receipt and reservation. The case manager was worried that I might make a deal with the host ourselves, then he made a unusual way to ask my payment. I didn t alert that way couldn t get my formal document as usual. So after I cannot use this wrongly document to make a claim for a 2 weeks prepaid my rent by the reason I cancelled my trip 2 week earlier.
When I asked the help center to help to prove a no refund document and prove I my own 1 person to rent the apartment , there has no one like to answer ... I don t know why?
It was sad about their aftercare of the service then I don t know where I can ask help. I felt really unfair I cannot make a claim of my insurance company just because Airbnb offered me an unofficial document then didn t like to help any! So disappointed me!

I am a host through Airbnb. This company needs to process payments faster. When it shows payment has been made it should automatically post to my account. I shouldn't have to keep checking days after my guest has checked in. It's annoying and not a good way to do buisiness. Process your payments in a timely manner!

AirBnB is absolutely horrible! I made my first reservation in February 2020 for a stay in Oct. 2020. My card was not to be charged until September 2020. It was charged over $1000 in April 2020, FIVE months before the payment was due! I have been working for a month to get the money credited back on my account. It has not yet been refunded. I've called HQ several times and gotten the run around. The horrible clauses that are written in the policy doesn't allow you to cancel without greater loss on the customer's part. I will NEVER do business with AirBnB again. I will pay the money for a legit hotel. In the meantime I will be reaching out to BBB, local newspaper, and the news channels.

We have stayed at least seven times in rental homes in KY and have never had a bad experience in booking as this Airbnb. Our reservation wasn't going trough, called them to see why, they said they would call back, but never heard from them. We called them again and they hung up on us. They couldn't explain why they had taken money from our card but our reservation was not going through. We had to call our card company and put a block on the place. We had to deal with the mess for a week. And up to the day before we were to leave. Not fun trying to find a place to stay the day before.

DO NOT USE Airbnb! WORST company! I reserved one year in advance for Ultra at $135/night. Only 7 days before, the host realized he can get four times the money and cancelled my reservation. Airbnb doesn't do anything to protect travelers. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY. You are on your own. They are a hugely overpriced advertising website.

KEEP AWAY from these guys at any cost.

KEEP AWAY from these guys at any cost.
They stand neither for your comfort nor even for your safety.
These scammers do not earn even a single star with their misrepresented properties. Be ready to find the place you've picked unclean, stinky and full of insects.
The hosts can do whatever they want without any consequence, and you'll pay for the disaster which was supposed to be your relaxing vacation with your own money and time to get it back if they want to give it to you.
You are totally on your own in this battle.

dealing with airbnb is like the opposite of fun for me. so i tried to quit them and they offered me a $150 coupon (for airbnb duh). um, who is the "they" to whom i refer? because individual human beings - like Belle who's a trainee airbnb case manager and was so kind and thoughtful and compassionate and professional in the best sense of the word, or my hosts in Provincetown - individual human beings get way more stars than airbnb.
anyway, i guess i learned that i can be bought for $150. huh.
so i went to the site, just now, and tried to use the coupon. and my account is blocked. again. can't even email Belle. can't even cash in the coupon with which they bought me back.
so, here and via snail mail and email if they ever unblock me: i declare, airbnb, that i am breaking up with you. again. don't know what my price might be now... why don't you try me?
sincerely and hopefully
goodbye airbnb!
love hate and robots,

So yesterday I posted a 1 star review about AirBnB...

So yesterday I posted a 1 star review about AirBnB, because I had received a cold slap in the face when I had used their "help center" to resolve a dispute with a host. There were issues with the host and the accommodation and I felt I was entitled to a refund of a certain dollar value. I tweeted about it to AirBnB, and lo and behold, someone cared enough to do something about my frustrations. The Twitter person put my concerns in the right hands. "Jarred" called me in the same hour and got on the ball quickly.

Today, I am a happier woman. I have gotten the compensation I had asked for from the host and AirBnB combined. I've also learned some valuable lessons along the way to make me a more savvier traveler with AirBnB.

Way to go AirBnB! Putting your guest's concerns first. Now that's the way to do things in this day and age of social media technology.

A great thanks to Jared! He deserves a raise or promotion for his hard work.

I have been a host for several months now with Airbnb. From what I have experienced so far, this company still has quite a ways to go for maturity and improvements. I'm absolutely disgusted by the customer service competency. I spent more than two hours on the phone with more than four reps, none of them was able to fix the listing's address and neighborhood discrepancies on the location map. I deleted my listing eventually.

Airbnb's Host Guarantee is a grossly discreditable scam, that goes the same with the host required $1000 security deposit. A guest and his family from UT stayed for five days, made permanent damage to my ceramic glass cooktop. When I requested Airbnb to reimburse the replacement cost of my new cooktop with clear obvious photo evidence, they simply gave me the runaround and replied:

"After careful review of the information submitted, we ve concluded that the reported damages to the Whirlpool 30" Ceramic Glass Cooktop are due to wear and tear as damage is very small and could have occurred over a period of usage and not just during our Guest Isaac's stay. You are free to pursue reimbursement from your guest directly. However, per this requirement, this case is not eligible under the Host Guarantee. That said, we will follow up appropriately with Isaac with regard to guest responsibilities." I'm absolutely disgusted by Airbnb's lack of action and responsibility !

Expensive rent, not even hair! Miscellaneous fees ...

Expensive rent, not even hair! Miscellaneous fees are particularly high, including cleaning, service and management fees, ranging from $ 30-80 per category. For example, in a busy area of Manhattan, New York, a slightly better three-star hotel chain costs about $ 200-300 a night, and some still include breakfast, but I can hardly find anything below $ 300 on the Airbnb website. All major online forums, such as reddit and tripadvisor, have whitewashed Airbnb, and verbally offended those who questioned this business model. What is so expensive is because of the integration of cultural communication and spreading, etc.
It is more reliable to go out or stay in a hotel!

I really don't get it that how this business can even survive. Are the travelers nowadays gone completely insane? How the hell could they spend 20-50% more only to get nothing but a room and a bed? Extra cleaning / service / administrative fees with the fact that even the base fare is already out of the scope no one can easily understand? Are you kidding me?

I would like to file a formal complaint against Ai...

I would like to file a formal complaint against Airbnb for the unjustified and corrupt policies around Guests and Hosts along with the very distasteful experience I had with Airbnb support at 718pm this evening. My history of Airbnb and the reviews and experience I provide my guests should speak for itself. Although this evening the type of experience I received from a very suspicious "no history with Airbnb" Guest claimed that my place was dirty. If you read my conversation with the guest you will see I did a excellent followup of trying to fix the problem that the guests were apparently making. I even called Airbnb and was proactive in explaining my side of the story which Robert was a great help. I then was given a horrible experience from another customer service support agent at 718pm who asked me what my side of the situation was but then went on to say the guests provided documents which warranted a refund. I have yet to see these documents myself as a matter of fact. I also believe that the evidence if their was any could of been fabricated especially given the contents of the evidence and what it was specifically. Furthermore I would like to point out that I spent money out of my pocket that I am now in the negative because of this situation. Airbnb clearly shows no loyalty or ethical standards to have any sort of reviews if they cannot be considered in cases such as these. I am requesting someone from a high seniority level call me back and issue me the payments as originally planned to be issued by this booking. Please take some time to truly understand my point of view and ethical reasons for not accepting the current decision of issuing the guests a full refund based on a unsubstantiated complaint that was not based on factual information.

I've been a 5-star host with over 50 stays on this site. I was robbed by a guest, the crime was considerable and involved the police. After I reported, the guest was allowed to write a negative review. Airbnb will NOT REMOVE THE GUEST RATING. Airbnb will not elevate this issue to management. I continually speak to a level 1 call center person who says they cannot remove ratings. Insanely poor service for a SUPER HOST.

I am quite dissatisfied with Airbnb.

I am quite dissatisfied with Airbnb.

A guest did the following:
1) Destroyed three mattress covers and sheets
2) Ruined my plants
3) Late checkout
4) Used all the sheets available (more than 10) while he was just one person and didn't wash anything
5) Left the place dirty

I have open a dispute on Airbnb after 13 days, cause I first wanted to discuss with the guest,. Airbnb claimed that it was not done within 14 days::

but when I proved that it was done within 14 days, they told me that it had to be done within 24hrs (which is absurd, meaningless, and just an excuse to not do anything):

Airbnb, I will leave you soon for a more honest platform.

FAKE ADVERTISING ON EXPERIENCE PAGES
You will read on an experience page something like this : "availability for this experience is extremely rare" even when the experience has no booking at all.
That's more than misleading.

Airbnb is the coolest company in the world. The HQ inside is more than a hotel. Instead, it looks like home to the workers insides. I would say their services are nice and considerablely generous for the customers to live in those who are cooperatign with them. Maybe you can find some good rooms or reside somewhere with nice provision.

My husband and I were Superhosts for Air BnB for about 3.5 years with a 5 star rating. We had a guest who filed an issue with Air BnB and we were permanently and immediately deactivated as hosts and the ability to book as guests at other locations. We were told they could not tell us, for confidentiality reasons, the person who filed the complaint or what the incident was but asked us what we could tell them about the incident. Several times we explained we were not aware of any incident from any guests so how could we address an incident without more information. We tried multiple avenues to have this reviewed, but to no avail. We feel victimized by this situation and feel that Air BnB does not have a mechanism in place to ensure the complaint was accurate and legitimate. They based their decision on one-sided information. We had invested much into making our accommodation a great destination for Air BnB guests and that was taken away abruptly with no recourse on our part. Everyone deserves to be treated fairly and we do not feel we were given due process in this situation. In addition they immediately cancelled all upcoming bookings at our home and those guests were given no information as to why their reservation was cancelled. We had guest who had booked 6 months prior and were arriving in 2 days who then thought it was us who cancelled them. Air BnB gave no assistance to them in finding other suitable places. Totally unprofessional in my opinion.

I recently stayed at an Airbnb near Prince Edward ...

I recently stayed at an Airbnb near Prince Edward County and I have to say I think Airbnb is misleading. We rented a grey cottage (more like a shack) claiming that it was on The Bay of Quinte. It was located acres away from the Bay and you could barley see the water. The bedrooms had no side tables! What kind of bedroom doesn t have side tables? Don t even get me started about the bedroom in the basement! The best part is that when you re reading the guest reviews you think it s going to be a gem. Did other guests not notice the missing furniture?

The point of this review is that when you book a hotel you get safety and industrial grade washed sheets. I will never stay at another Airbnb until the company can make it mandatory that all linens must be sanitized in industrial grade washing machines. Also, there is currently no option for guests of the primary booking guests to write reviews. Shouldn t all guests be able to express our experiences too. Hence, this is why I have to write this review here.

I am Looking forward to seeing some policy changes from Airbnb!

I still love the concept. I was a fan of Airbnb, and I often recommended to their alternative way of traveling and learning about communities to friends and family. However, today I rate Airbnb 1 start and stop using their services. Airbnb you get an F for your Super-host program, D for loose rules about surveillance, and C- for prompt but rude customer service.

Recently made a reservation through Airbnb for a p...

Recently made a reservation through Airbnb for a property Atlanta., an area Im not familiar with. I booked less than 24 hours prior to check-in - after detailed conversations with the host. In addition to claims made conversing, the host listed as an entire house She said it was in a safe, family neighborhood . My child was doing a program at Georgia State.
The host said that the property would be perfect for us. She contacted my daughter many times making my daughter like and trust her and creating a frenzy that someone else was going to book before we could and how sad the host would be. Host said she really wanted to meet us and was excited about my daughter's studies. Just prior to arriving at our HOST"s house, we encountered the ATV/dirt-bike gang that congregates there (a fact that was left out of the ad soliciting renters) - antics of blocking traffic, weaving in and out of traffic. This well known group loves breaking the rules. It was frightening. However, after that fright, we entered the entire house to find it was only a portion of a basement. What put us over the edge, there are two locked interior locked doors. The space is only a small portion of the house, the doors seemed to lead to other parts of the basement. On top of that, there was an overwhelming stench of incense that triggered my daughter s asthma. Within 5 minutes of arrival we contacted the Host and she told us to cancel the reservation for a refund. But, it turns out what she meant by refund is only 1/3 of the $1,300 we paid for the entire house . As a result we contacted Airbnb to dispute the refund , and in doing so we learned that we should not have cancelled online, but instead contacted airbnb directly. In trying to work with the host offering $150, she declined, I did research discovering host is a realtor bound by ethics with Keller Williams. As I progressed in trying to find a resolution, I learned the Host changed the listing. Turns out that after misrepresenting the unit in the ad and misleading us, and being advised that we were disputing the refund and learned through research that she is a licensed realtor, she changed the listing to add that she is a realtor, that the entire house is really a basement, and that you will hear the renters above you from the upstairs unit that happens to be another Airbnb (another surprise when we got there), but the main part still says "entire house/apt. She still has not disclosed the motorcycle gang.
She did add some pictures that reveal a little more truth, but it s a basement with very little light and a low ceiling. Unfortunately, when we contacted the Host's broker to make sure he knew what a agent affiliated with the his brokerage had done, he took the position that host did not make any misrepresentations while referring to the content of the edited listing. So, either he was not told by her that she changed the listing, or he is not concerned about the hosts ethics. I was a first time user of Airbnb and host seemed so nice. Because the host has a "moderate cancelation policy" it seems there is absolutely no chance of getting a refund through airbnb even when your safety is threatened and the space is a health risk. I spent days on the phone with airbnb. Prior to that I tried working with the host offering her one night stay for any trouble. Her listing went right back up so she was already paid for 2 weeks from me and could have had another renter the same day. I made the reservation less than 24 hours prior to arriving and canceling. I MADE THE RESERVATION LESS THAN 24 HOURS PRIOR TO CANCELING, MY and MY CHILD"S SAFETY WAS AT RISK. THINKING AIRBNB WAS HELPING, I BOOKED ANOTHER AIRBNB 20 MINUTES AWAY FROM ORIGINAL BOOKING - THERE WAS NOT A ATC/DIRTBIKE GANG OF HUNDREDS STOPPING TRAFFIC AND RUNNING FROM POLICE. Everyone I have spoke to at airbnb is in another country following a flowchart of what to do and say.

I've been an AirBNB customer for years. I used to...

I've been an AirBNB customer for years. I used to love it so much I recommended it to everyone I knew, and would even tell employees who were travelling to prefer AirBNB over traditional hotels.

The most recent trip with AirBnB was last month. Another great stay, another great review from the host (but I forgot to review b/c of other stuff at work).

So, why is this NOT a five-star review? A couple weeks ago I've started doing some research into password security, and determined that my AirBNB password wasn't very secure. Today I logged into my AirBNB account to update my password....and got a message that my account was permanently suspended and that they have the right to not tell me why.

Figuring this must be a mistake, I try to ask them why in the app...and it makes me jump through hoops with my ID...then tells me "we'll get back to you." This isn't very good customer service, so I toss them a call...."we'll get back to you."

Quite frankly, this is the worst possible excuse for 'customer service' I've ever seen, up to the extent that I not only can no longer recommend AirBNB to any employees or friends...but as an individual in charge of travel decisions at my organization...I am now forced to ban all employees from using AirBNB for all future work-related travel indefinitely (as I have no way of reliably believing their trips would actually be secure, unlike with a hotel where they can't just cancel things without telling anybody why).

On the bright side, unlike you...here's me telling you why.

AirBNB is great, as long you do not have concerns. We had proven, that our lessor put wrong accomodation and the whole house was under a very bad condition.

The customer service was not very helpful and unprofessional (sent us emails, which were cut in the middle). After asking to send the same email completely, we are still waiting (more than one week) without receiving anything.

We paid more than 600 USD for 3 nights in the Philippines, which is a very high price and we expected a very nice house. What we got was a very bad accomodation, which we would even not have accepted for free. The customer service in Germany / Europe did not care at all.

My brother, who is a lessor of many flats of AirBNB recommended us to book via AirBNB - but seems as a customer you have very low rights.

Airbnb Does Not Protect its Customers

Airbnb Does Not Protect its Customers

I booked an Airbnb for two nights in Frisco, CO for a ski trip with a friend. Although we let our host know our arrival time 7 hours before we arrived (check-in was 12pm-12am; we arrived around 6pm), the house was in disarray when we arrived. Not only were there no clean linens at all in the house, there was dirty laundry on the floor, and the bathroom hadn t been cleaned. There wasn t even laundry detergent in the house to be able to wash the linens. When we contacted the host to let him know, he stated that we could purchase some laundry detergent to wash a load of linens and offered to reimburse us a mere $50 of $292. We contacted Airbnb to let them know, and after giving our host an hour to respond (in which time he never responded) Airbnb stated they would cancel our reservation, refund us the $292 for the Airbnb and put us up in an available hotel or different Airbnb. Our customer service representative told us to search for hotels and she would search as well. She was unable to find any available hotels or Airbnbs and the only hotel in the area we were able to find was a Holiday Inn. She assured us that Airbnb would refund us for the cost of the hotel up to $150 per night, and when we questioned her regarding if the hotel cost more than this she stated Airbnb would cover the additional cost. With this in mind, we booked a hotel room at the Holiday Inn for two nights. As we booked during peak ski season, the total cost ended up being $708. When we let Airbnb know that this was the cost, our representative contacted her supervisor to request our reimbursement. After many emails and calls back and forth with Airbnb, we were informed that our refund would consist of $150 in cash, and $150 in credit on Airbnb s website. This left me paying $558 for a stay that initially would have only cost me $292. 1) Not only did I end up paying in excess of what I should have, but 2) Our trip was disrupted the inconvenience of having to switch locations, as well as hours spent on the phone and emailing to reconcile the situation. I feel that I was deceived by Airbnb regarding the reimbursement and that I was completely taken advantage of as a customer by a company that could easily afford to pay the difference in cost. I will never use Airbnb again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. Please be aware of this when you consider using Airbnb, they will not protect you should something go wrong with your booking!

This company is awful. My sister and I decided to try air BNB instead of getting a hotel for our trip to the Hamptons. We had a great time but on our way home got a call from the landlord claiming she was missing 75,000 worth of items from her home. Mind you this is about 19 hours after we got a text from her telling us that the home was left in great condition. Her items included jewelry, a hat collection, purses, and shoes. Mind you again, four girls drove to the Hamptons in a 2013 Chevy Cruze and had 4 suitcases, 4 duffle bags, 4 purses, and two bags of shoes that we brought on our own. Initially not thinking that this woman was possibly making this up to claim insurance money we are of course frantic and cooperate with air BNB who tells us that the land lord must submit a police report, which she does. The report takes three weeks to get and in the meantime we are being harassed by the landlord who is contacting us through social media threatning to email all of our contacts to "expose what we have done." My 17 year old sister also got a call to her employer from someone who called from a New York number, hung up, called back private and then told her manager that she could not be trusted with money. Fortunately my sister has worked for this company for three years and the manager disregarded the call and gave us the information of the person who called. We finally get a call from a detective who tells us that the landlord is claiming that items in the photos we took while on vacation look like items that were potentially hers he also flat out tells me that he doesn't believe the four of us took anything, he would look into two other people we were with, and that burglary is an option but it makes sense to investigate the people in the home first, makes sense. Some of those items included diamond earrings one of us was wearing in a black and white photo, a hat a gentleman is wearing in the same photo, a purse in one of our photos, and apparently a black halter my girlfriend is wearing the landlord is claiming looked like one of her "missing items." So we send an appraisal form and a bill of sale to the detective for the earrings and let him know that we have time stamped photos of the halter top and the hat in several photos posted to social media time stamped before our trip, and offer to provide proof of purchase of the purse in question because it was purchased right before the trip as a gift but as well, is photographed and posted to social media before the trip. After that email was sent none of us, including two people who were suspects, were contacted whatsoever, instead we get an email from air BNB almost three weeks after claiming that they received a report with item missing claiming up to 48,500 dollars (which is quite a smaller amount compared to the 75,000) and a list of suspects and will be claiming my sisters security deposit of 2000 dollars. No one has been charged or found guilty, and apparently just because the land lord submitted a report she gets 50000 dollars and we lose 2000. Air BNB says that they do not need to prove that we stole the items and that because the detective did not write down that burglary was an option that we can be held responsible for the 2000. So yes, they do not need proof to take our 2000 and to pay the landlord 46,000 dollars. Although, we provided proof that items she was claiming were hers, are not, and were willing to provide proof for any more items in question apparently it doesn't matter. Also, after my initial talk with the detective, none of us heard from him nor has air BNB provided a copy of the "report", just that we have 10 days to pay 2000. Not sure how this company is still in business and are having a lawyer look into the details to see if there's anything we can do. After reading the million other complaints about how air BNB has a million terms and conditions were assuming they are somehow covered but we're looking into it and at least want to warn potential buyers that air BNB is not worth the stress or money, is a scam, and to stick with hotels.

After our stay at a property we completed the review per Airbnb's request. Although polite, we had a few points of concern especially about discrepancies between listing and property. After reading our review, our host sent us a private message where she expressed her disagreement to our comments. She was obviously personally offended at our professional feedback (not our intent as we overall enjoyed our stay) and harshly criticized us personally (even after writing us a favorable public review). I feel like this is a flaw with the system that Airbnb has as guests should be able to be honest in their feedback without fear of private retribution by the host.

I wish I could give Airbnb 0 star. Worst customer service ever. It took me 30 minutes waiting on the phone to speak to the customer service. The host promised to give me the refund ($350) after I canceled the booking, but only give me a refund of $30. The host also rent the room to other guests after I cancelled the room, making double income. The customer service was impatient and not helpful at all. I guess I learn a lesson at the expense of $320, and I will never use Airbnb!!!!

I stayed at a Super host's home in the Hollywood Hills. I paid $750/night and the hosts pictures of the house were totally different than the actual house. In fact, there was no toilet paper, trash bag liners, furniture was missing altogether and the couch had blood all over the underside of it. I called Airbnb and they asked me for pictures of the house which I provided. They agreed that it wasn't right, so they decided to refund me $100 after I paid $1,560 for the rental and $200 in supplies for their house. The host also changed their names multiple times. The Airbnb agent said it was a common practice. So, be very careful. Airbnb definitely does not have your best interests in mind. It seems that they just want to look good for their upcoming IPO.

Where do I start? Upon arriving there was a cleaning crew there. It was bags piled up in front of the garage. After an hour of waiting we left to check in a hotel but the called begging us to come back. I asked if they rushed because if so I didn t want to come back. They claimed they didn t after returning the cleaning lady was still in there. A couple minutes later she walked to my truck and stated there were still towels in the dryer. After a 16 hour drive we just told her it was ok and went in. The rooms with the double beds blankets were definitely not laundered, they had stains. The bathroom tub had hair, the pool area had trash (cigarette ashes, cigarette butts, pool toys, food, napkins). They were left behind items all around the house. Stains on the wall. I reached out to Airbnb and Magic box. This has been a long process. I would have rather left then stayed but I m not going to throw away $1300. After days of back and forth they wanted to send someone out the Wednesday when are checkout was Thursday. On top of that they stated I could have planted the stuff. My iPhone has live pictures and time stamped from the day I arrived. I spoke with Amanda who is a part of the supervising team of Magic box and she told me they only wash their blankets and pillowcases every 3 or 4 weeks. That s disgusted and should be a health code violation. She can t deny saying it because I recorded our conversation. If Airbnb or Magic box doesn t handle this appropriately I will reach out to someone. Also the complex doesn t have a basketball court like the pictures.

They scammed me out of my money and now I m seeking to file a lawsuit. I also reported this scam company and host to the BBB. We all need to come together and have a lawsuit against this company. To many horrible reviews in reference to the same exact scenarios. They have a cancellation button but will not give you back your funds even if you didn t stay there, which is false advertisement and illegal, If you can t receive your money back that button shouldn t be available.

Airbnb is a public rip-off. I canceled reservation week ahead, Aibnb and the host refused the refund. After many emails the staffs at help center avoid the request. Airbnb is a money machine and the unprofessional service. The photos mostly are liars, do not use Airbnb.

Airbnb is holding hostage my deposit for a holiday housing in Europe where I'm legally not allowed to go because of travel restrictions. Their lack of support and respect for the members of their "community" during the pandemic is simply shameful. I completely lost any trust in this company.

Beware! Air BnB may not stand by their stated refund policies!
January 6, 2020 we made a home reservation in High Point, NC for April 26, 2020 to attend the High Point Furniture Trade Show and submitted a deposit of $1172.57.
On March 12, 2020 the trade show was officially cancelled due to the Corona Pandemic.
On March 12, 2020 we checked the AirBnb cancellation policy for the home we booked which stated Full Refund if check-in is at least 14 days away.
On March 13, 2020 we cancelled the reservation and were notified that the refund was $13.46.
Thereafter Airbnb posted policies providing 100% refunds for cancellations due to the Corona Pandemic.
Since March 12, 2020 we have made countless inquiries and spent hours and hours through the website and phone calls to Airbnb, the homeowner themselves, and to our credit card company to get our full deposit refunded to no avail.
Come on Airbnb! We did the right thing to notify you of the cancellation as soon as the Trade show was cancelled due to the declared pandemic. Now I'm asking you to do the right thing and just return our deposit!!!

I have been suffering extreme stress due to the poor customer service I have received regarding a refund. I booked a home for August 19-23 with a hostname Quan. I have been told that our half payment of 1358.60 is totally non-refundable because it was not canceled in 48 hours.
The cancellation policy for 48 hours needs to be revisited and revised because it is only in favor of the host and not the customers. I feel like it is robbery for anyone to TAKE 1358.60 from a hard-working family with no service rendered. I completely understand a service fee or deposit, but 1358.60?
The wording is not clear or concise. It should also be rules for bookings over 500.00 to avoid situations such as these.

Also, there was an attempt to charge the remaining balance without my consent. I was not notified that this transaction was made in error, but it failed despite the attempt.

I was recently told that because I paid half I do not receive a %50 refund. Leaving the customer with nothing and the Host with an additional 1358.60 of services not rendered. This is a travesty and needs to be corrected to be fair to both parties involve not only Airbnb and the host.

Consumer Alert. Wow, booked a trip for $1,690 and paid for it. Host cancelled last minute which is out of my control. Airbnb has all the money and has a laundry list of things that have to happen for a refund all which start with the Host...that not in my control. Do this...do that...go here...finally spoke to a person whom could see on the airbnb website the host cancelled...still no refund...they have to verify with the host that they cancelled...huh? Host has to do it within their process. Not my problem...that is between you and the host. You have my $1,690 not the Host. Faster and easier to have the credit card charges reversed than go through this time consuming hell. Oh, btw...airbnb customer service threatened ban me from the site if I disputed the cc charges even though that person could see the host cancelled on me. Alet Alert Alert. I have no dispute with the host...we are in contact...they don't know what to do either.

I have to give airbnb a single star because of the confusion involved in booking my stay, an agreement between potential hosts being taken back, a system glitch preventing me from booking a day at the start of my trip, the lack of customer care training, the difficulty of trying to obtain an answer from a human, and the fact that my trip has started and still my case remains open. I don't think I'll be using airbnb in the future given all the troubles I've had with my first time.

We are Airbnb hosts with a super-host rating. We were hoping to meet a few people and perhaps get a tour of the headquarters building. They have no record of hosts available and treated us no better than if we were total strangers off the street. We were directed to the cafeteria which wasn't even part of the same organization which was weird. A disappointment.

I tried to book a trip for my wife, infant son and myself so I put that info into the search only to end up booking a place that did not allow children. The place we booked showed up when we said we had two adults and a child so why would we be told children are not allowed. Airbnb and the host refused to refund us despite the false advertising. Do not use airbnb, there are much better options where the company cares about their customers.

I have been hosting for over a year and my experience is ok.Today I was a cancellation fee. I have instant booking and it was clear that cancellations were penalty free. I was told by customer service that I picked the wrong reason ( whatever that means) which made the system charge me and not allow refunds. There's nothing mentioned in the policy about such a thing. Dishonest and ridiculous

Airbnb is a total scam! STAY AWAY!! They were complicit with my cc info being stolen and used to book a stay on their site for nearly a grand! Customer service is absolute garbage and did nothing to investigate the fraudulent charge. After 8 emails back and forth they concluded it must have been a friend or family member of mine that used my card, despite that NONE OF US HAVE EVER HEARD OF OR USED THEIR SERVICES BEFORE! They are unable to provide a reason why they determined this, not surprising since they have no evidence to support their decision. I had to Google what they were when my bank alerted me of the fraud charges. They still will not refund these charges and do the right thing! They are trash, stay away!

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I will never use their service again. I had an urgent issue this morning. I have been calling all day to resolve it, just for no one to help. Do they know what "urgent" means? It is clear that Airbnb has no regard for their customers.

Arrived at Grand Laguana in Sosua Dominican Republic with the host Casey. The location had filthy couches and mildew on the outside furniture. The location had very recently been painted. Had a very very strong paint smell. I opted to leave because it wasn t suitable. Contacted ARBNB and they refused to give me a full refund only returning $64. I left a review of my experience. The host Casey left a review in retaliation with a ridiculous amount of lies and false statements. All of which are easily verifiable by ARBNB. ARBNB refused to remove his untrue comments in spite of one of their staff people admitting to me that she agreed his statements were dishonest. So I posted a response calling out his lies and ARBNB s bias and unfair treatment of paying customers in favor of the host. Now they want to remove my initial review which benefits the lying host Casey. Don t use any of this guys listings. He is willing to be dishonest to capture your money. ARBNB be is trash, look elsewhere!!!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Do not rent via airbnb. Our rental was not legal and therefore the building manager called the police, and harassed us. The host was no where to be found and airbnb was not empathetic whatsoever. Airbnb needs to vet their host whether it is legal to rent and whether the property is safe. We were charged for all three nights where we did not stay and had to seek other accommodations which we had to pay for as well. So not only did we lose our money, Airbnb did not refund us but we paid for an additional three nights at a hotel. Airbnb took no responsibility and the host STILL collected our money. We were traumatized by the whole experience as well as the insult of losing our money.

Customer Support is a disaster. I am contacting Washington to insure AirBnb are regulated in dealing with customers. This can no longer continue. The COO should be fired. NOW!!!. I got contacted by Airbnb 24 hours after i contacted them. With a message: sorry high volume of customer inquiries will call soon. My problem: in France at 5pm. Couldnt reach host. So couldnt access appartment. Host didnt provide her mobile number on contact details. 5pm. I solved my problem finally. But no thanks to the incompetent staff, management and CEO of the company.

Protection should be given both host and guest. Airbnb decided to give protection only to a host I booked a vacation with, canceled 8 month prior to the visit.
The host declined refunding the money, She suggested refunding only if the apartment will be booked again, but changed the dates for the booking so it will be impossible for tourists to book.

Airbnb refuse to change the dates back to original and thus protecting only the host while dumping the paying costumer, leaving him (me) with no compensation nor a way to inform other clients of the unreasonably and terms changing host.

The apartment is Sunny Chalet Hibou, sleeps 8/9 in comfort,in Morzine, France.

AirBnB is really bad when things go wrong.

AirBnB is really bad when things go wrong.

In my case, I had someone in who paid for 3 adults and 1 child. Then my neighbors tell me 6 adults and 4 children were in there. On top of that they left the place a pig pen. Popcorn all over the place, ash from the fireplace (which they did not know how to use) all over my patio, toilet paper strewn everywhere.

Then the very next week something similar happens. This time, instead of 2 adults, they bring in 4. When it comes time to leave, they guy gets pissed and leaves a 30ft skid mark in my driveway, waking up all my neighbors at 10am on a quiet Sunday morning. There were also broken wine glasses and in spite, he threw all the towels in the bathtub.. FULL OF WATER!!

I want to rent the CEO of AirBnB's house and see what he does when I trash his house. Probably doesn't rent it out.. HA!

You deserve everything you're getting with this virus. A Crooked, Greedy company.

My airline cancelled my flight (before virus) and Airbnb only reimbursed half of my Paris accomodations even though the terms on their website allowed for full reimbursement.

This crooked company makes a thin profit thicker by never returning monies.
