Central office would not remove the fee and so if I had not paid, the plumber would have removed their parts and left! Not only that but the plumber would have lost out as they are expected to cover their own materials. They are a poor attempt at Uber for contractors and treat those who do the work poorly.
I m now waiting for them to listen back to the call , I doubt I will hear back or get a refund for a cost I was never made aware of! We ended up paying nearly as much as the dishwasher itself cost just for installation!
Do not use Able, go direct to a local plumber instead and save your money and stress.

Able were fantastic. They arranged an appointment for me quickly and at a time that suited me and the engineer was on time. He was very friendly and polite and resolved the issue for me very quickly and efficiently (jammed UPVC door lock). I felt very comfortable throughout the process, the engineer talked me through the issue and explained the options available for repair and didn't make me feel pressured to spend more money than was necessary to find the solution that best suited my situation. I would definitely recommend this company.

DO NOT USE. Did not turn up, no explanation, rude customer service. Booked for mouse control and the engineer did not turn up. Phoned three times and each time told they were late, but on the way. Stayed in all day. Then they never turned up.
When phoned the next day they told me that it didn't matter. Told no way of finding out what happened and that I shouldn't care. Rude person told me off for asking. Get the impression that this is very normal! Use someone else!

Quick to take your money and quick to arrange a visit - unfortunately not so quick to get back to you when the problem wasn't resolved - there was still wasp activity after the visit and when I phoned up I was put on hold for ages - second time I called I was promissed someone would call me back - that was a day ago - I've given up - fortunately the wasps seem to have given up too - nonetheless next time I will go straight to a local pest control company - all Able does is arrange for local people to come out anyway

They failed to turn up twice, wasting two days of my time. When the third engineer turned up the fault was fixed but considered chargeable as it was unrelated, but despite wasting two days of my time the still insisted on charging. I wish I had read some of these reviews to avoid my own bad experience.
I called the plumber to check what was wrong with water temperature in the shower. To do this, all what was needed was to remove the panel, handles and take the cartridge out - check whether it works / is it right part and order a new one. Pretty plain vanilla job but this was invoiced as two hours work. As such straightforward task, this was totally unreasonable.
It took several phone calls until I was finally able to discuss the invoice with someone (as promises were made to call back which never happened). Eventually when managed to discuss the response was that work was done per given charge-out rate (half an hour basis) and time the job took (which did not solve absolutely anything) was not unusual. To be noted that the plumber was eventually making a guess what was wrong just turning the temperature handler without taking cartridge out until I asked to take a look at it (following the same logic a mechanic would know what is the reason for a car leaking oil not bothering to open the hood).
All in all, very negative, totally 100% waste of time and money and not sorting out anything - experience. Definitely worth of avoiding their service .

I called Able Group for bed bug issue in the house. My positive experience with that company is that the guy turned up right on time. However, there is NO GUARANTEE given and despite having been charged A LOT... the problem barely quiet down and when I called their office for advice and ask for a second visit, the price was similarly excruciating still without a guarantee. For that type of issue, there is a need for a guarantee as the treatment takes several visits before it is tackled. Maybe Able Group is good for other services but definitely NOT for this type of Pest Control.

I called on 30th July to have a wasps nest removed and was pleased with the service for the initial booking. I was told someone would be with us between 9am-5pm on Saturday 1st August (which is a very long appointment window) but I was told someone would call 30 minutes before so I didn t have to wait in all day (fair enough). Saturday came and shortly after midday I called the company for an ETA. After 30 minutes on hold, I was told they couldn t give an ETA. At 4pm (an hour before cut off), I still hadn t heard anything and called the company again. After another 30 minutes on hold, I spoke with an operator who told me the job hadn t even been assigned to a technician yet. I cancelled the appointment accruing no charge, but am disappointed to have spent the day waiting around at home for a technician who, by their own admission on that second call, was unlikely to arrive. Poor communication, poor service, would recommend you go somewhere else. IN ADDITION TO THIS: I don t usually feel compelled to leave companies reviews. I did so for Able Group on TrustPilot. Able Group reported my review as fake and had TrustPilot take it down. Unfortunately for them, I have been able to have it reinstated. BE AWARE that their Trust Pilot rating will have a good number of genuine, negative reviews filtered out!

While waiting for their electrician, my son used Whatsapp video to show me how to rest the board. By the time they got here their services were no longer required. I then asked the engineer to fit a light fixture for me instead as they were already on the doorstep . He agreed! before commencing the job I asked him to call the office to find out how how much this new job would cost.
He told me " We don't deal with the money side of things, the office will be in touch" Like a fool I allowed him to fit the light. He shaked my hand and left after no longer than 25 minutes. We were broken into last night and obviously very shaken up so rang this company at 8am to board the window and paid for URGENT service and had an email to confirm they would be with us between 9am-10.30am, however we got a call from the engineer to say he would be between 12pm-2pm which i agreed too, but no one turned up. When i rang to query this the caller said that the engineer had tried to come but 'couldn't fit down the road' but i was not made aware of this. The caller said he would call me back asap to re-arrange, however by 3.30pm still no call so i called back again and still the caller said they will try and contact and engineer and get back in touch with me - again no response. I called again at 4pm for then to be told no-one could do it tonight and that i would have to wait until the next day, awful service and wouldn't recommend to anyone!

Able were asked to check leaks in a bathroom drainage and clear an intermittent WC sewer pipe blockage. The plumber arrived promptly and proceeded to try to remove WC to rod the drain. He failed to get the WC off its fixing, and had no equipment to rod drains from external manhole (less than 10 feet). Agreed to return after weekend with the right kit, even though he knew what he was facing before coming. Unfortunately the next time the WC was flushed, water & sewage poured into the kitchen below. In man-handling the WC he had shifted the internal connector to the drain. This is not the "reasonable skill & care" required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 & Able are legally required to put right their mistake in a "reasonable time" and without "undue inconvenience" to the consumer. Advised Able immediately. They could not get plumber to return as he had been 'drinking' and despite sewage dripping into the kitchen were 'unable' to get another plumber until after the weekend (48 hours+). In particular Able stated that their subcontractor was responsible, not them (fortunately this is completely untrue since the CRA 2015). This is not a company actually able to deliver a 24hr service, just a 24hr call centre to fob you off. Getting a proper plumber in to fix the mess they've caused and sending his bill for Able to pay (if not it's off to the small claims court for a slam dunk of a case ).

The downside was the cost of having someone out on the weekend vs the cost of during the week. I still haven't received a receipt yet but the amount debited was the amount they quoted.

Great engineer sent out, he explained what had caused the window frame to break and how to avoid it again, as well as fixing it in a timely manor. He was a little later than I had expected but he was apologetic, friendly and imformative. I would recommend this company, however be aware that their service although helpful and friendly is not the cheapest.

Blocked drain from house to main drain, guy cleared it although it was pitch dark at 4.30 pm. The drain from kitchen ran through although waste was backed up in the rain gutters on edge of my patio, and another offshoot of this drain from the bathroom, neither of these cleared. Next day I had to clear an almighty mess from where it had overflowed onto the patio, not visible in the dark, and within a few days realised the other offshoot was still backed up and flooding. Able said the engineer would charge again for another visit, I am livid as this job was only half done in the first place! Never use these again!

Telephoned, trying to speak the right person is impossible, and was told 4 days on the trot that the part would be in, but it never was. I booked an electrician at 3pm to attend an urgent problem in commercial premises in High Wycombe and was assured an electrician would arrive by 5pm, the visit was cancelled by Able directly to the person on site and rescheduled for the next morning between 9 and 12, this was cancelled early in the morning. Customer Services then confirmed they have a single electrician in High Wycombe who works 8pm to 11pm only.
That evening the electrician who was to attend at 8pm called directly to cancel because he only does domestic work.

They came on time and replaced the broken lock and fitted a new door handle. I was told by them that the handle wasn't included in the original quote, so I had to pay extra. The handle turned out to be very expensive .
The handle were fitted by the technician before I was given a price. He had to phone his office to ask if it was included in the quote. He then asked for a price for the handles that he'd fitted. He had finished and cleared up and was sat in his van ready to leave when he phoned for a price.

If parking space is such a huge issue to your engineer then please specify when I make the booking. I take annual leave to stay in the house to wait for the engineer and being left with frustration. The company cannot just be can indecisive and changes their mind every half hour or so.

Rachel was the sole reason I decided not to go with this company even though I was in an emergency situation - she was that bad. The engineer arrived swiftly and cleared the blockage, or so i thought. a week later the drains were again blocked, i contacted their customer services to be told that i would be charged again for them to be cleared. Charged again for not doing the job fully in the first place??? Safe to say i didn't have them back and instructed DynoRod to complete the job.
