Excellent service - The gentleman who took my enquiry re a faulty patio door was very polite and professional and was able to arrange an engineer for the next day. He also quoted me based on various scenarios - costs dependent on what the engineer may find upon arrival. The engineer arrived on time and again was polite, efficient and very helpful and cleared up after him and fixed the problem in a timely manner. Would have no hesitation in recommending. Thank you.

Isn't Google reviews a wonderful thing. At last a way of expressing to potential customers just how dishonest and threating a company can be.
Companies like this are a shameful example of just how low some people can get, but with enough negative reviews eventually this has a detrimental effect and hopefully companies like this suffer and either change their ways of go into liquidation.
Don't bother is my advice to anyone looking for whatever services this company offer, look for a good local tradesman who will do a good honest job for a reasonable price.

If I could, I would have gladly given the Able Group a minus 5star rating.
We actually found out from our home insurance providers that we had emergency boiler cover- they arranged an engineer to come over who told us exactly what the problem was and what they were going to do to rectify it. They said the same thing as Martin in that the boiler was 15years old and would require changing sooner than later, but said they would provide a solution that would keep the boiler working for another one to two years and set a date to carry out the repair on the same visit. They even found a temporary way to turn the central heating back safely so we could use it again while repairs were awaited.
The home insurance engineers were able to do more in 1hour than Martin and the Able Group were able to do in 3 and a half days.
Some, though not all, of the customer services reps I spoke to at the Able Group (Emma being one of them) were extremely rude, sarcastic, argumentative and unhelpful.
I would also like to point out that when Martin was asked if he could have a look at our dripping kitchen sink he said that it would take an hour to fix... even though it probably only required a tap washer changing (for which there are 5-10minute tutorials on youtube). I would have done it myself but I don't have the correct screw driver for the sink tap.

Very clever website outsourcing is fine if you tell the customers. I should of used a local tradesman. Really should of checked the reviews first. Lesson learnt!!!
Very professional and excellent communication. Overall excellent experience. Needed window repairs on double glazing, arrived on time and efficiently completed job.
I had a bed bug treatment done 16 days ago, for which I was overcharged, and I am still waiting for a partial refund! Everyone we have spoken to is passing the blame and communication from the company has been non existent. Yesterday I was on hold for 20mins on 3 occasions before they just hung up on me. Nevertheless, the (very small - according to the gentleman who carried out the treatment) bed bug infestation we had hasn't been resolved in any way. We cancelled our work from home plans and lost a days income as we were told they were coming on the Tuesday - they didn't show and pushed back the treatment to the Wednesday - costing us a days work. To add insult to injury m4 bed bugs have been spotted alive and (very well fed - on our blood) since! Don't trust the reviews and avoid at all cost, this very traumatic experience has been made all the worse by Able Group Pest Control. We feel like we have wasted our money and been abandoned.

They turned up at the appointed time. The operative inspected the blocked drain and immediately set to work. The offending drain(s) were quickly identified and unblocked with speed and efficiency. Couldn't fault the speedy service. Would recommend.
I would reccomend this company and particular service engineer that did the work for me. He explained what he was doing and provided an efficient service.

This company should be called "NOT ABLE " group, I booked a job last Saturday for a plumber to come out Monday, only for them to call Monday and cancel we rearranged the booking for today (Wednesday) and I only get a text saying to call them, and yeh they cancelled again what a joke. Wouldn't recommend these to anyone!!!
I would give this company less than one star if I could. They sent someone to my home to determine what work needed to be done on my bathroom door. They told me that they needed to purchase a special part costing over 100 GBP (this was to be paid for in addition to the labor). I gave them the money for this part. Then they stopped responding. They would say an engineer was coming out to install the lock and I would wait all day and no one would show. This happened more than 3 times. I missed worked every one of these days to never have my lock fixed. Each time I would call and say I wanted my money back but they would swear that t was some fluke accident that this kept happening and that someone would come the next day. The last time this happened they promised that someone would be out by a time that I specified and of course they never showed. I called a different company that came right out fixed my lock in less than two hours and didn't charge me for the parts that they needed. Just the labor. I called the Able Group again and demanded a refund and refused every attempt they made to plead with me to let them finish the job. Finally they relented and said that someone would contact me able setting up a refund in 2 days. Yeah 2 days to process a refund. So they did call and again tried to worm their way out of refunding me by saying someone could be right out but the job was already done by someone else. So the company said they were processing my refund which NEVER came through. I called multiple times and they all swore that sometime it takes a while. I never received it. I moved from that property and still haven't received a refund. I have emailed them countless times. Still nothing. It has now been 5 months and still no refund and no reply from these crooks! At this point I have to let my employers know about this companies scam and they will likely take legal action and will certainly blacklist the Able Group so that no one from our incredibly large company ever hires them again. I hope my 130 pounds were worth losing thousands of potential customers. DO NOT waste your money on these unprofessional thieves.
My 80 year old mother had her handbag containing house keys stolen today , I found these locksmith on trusted traders with 5 star ratings and fast response,and said Ashbourne locksmith I rung them at 11am and they said they would come out to replace lock by 3pm, were still waiting for them to turn up now at 9,45 PM, no joy keep phoning them as they keep saying they cant get in touch with the man doing the job , the man eventually arrived at 10,20pm nice chap who said he had been given the job at 8,30pm , will not recomend this firm in case you cant find our job the reference number is 4060433
I called in regards to a wasp nest, the lady I spoke with was very helpful and said they could have a pest controller with me that afternoon. The pest controller arrived that afternoon and was very knowledgeable and professional. I was very pleased with the overall experience.

The booking was easy and straightforward, and I was able to book on a Sunday which was a plus. The guy arrived at the right time and fixed the issue we had and left us with a piece of paper that told us what had been done.

Worse company ever. My partner rang this company up last week to book a gas engineer to service our boiler. They booked a guy to come over last Friday between 10 and 2. It got to 3pm and I had to contact my partner at work to tell them they havent turned up! He rang the company and they tried to ring the guy 5x and he didn't answer. So the company didn't bother to contact us. Rang again to book and they were supposed to come again today between 2 and 4...got to 4pm still havent turned up. Contacted my bf to tell them he then got told they would come before 5. It's now 6pm. Absolute joke!
I have used Able Group more than once, to arrange wasp disposal. The service has always been very good, with easy call logging and prompt attendance by the booked service. Recommended.
We have used these twice and both times they failed to deliver. On the first occasion (in 2015) they sent someone who was ill equipped to do the job, and we incurred additional expense, and considerable lost time as a result. The second time (2017) the plumber couldn't find our house, or a mobile signal and left us hanging around for most of the day. We then had to find someone else, resulting in lost time and additional expense. To be fair the people on the phone were fine, but clearly the company are, in my experience, not worried about using inadequate tradespeople. If they can't solve the simple problem of finding my house then why would I let them loose in my kitchen? If you do choose to use these then have a backup plan. Overall a very frustrating and disappointing experience.
Requested for a plumber to be on site due to a leak in the water mains. Even though it was late evening, the plumber arrived promptly and fixed the leak and left within the hour. Good service.
Brilliant service. We were very pleased we were told the engineer would be with us about half past 5 and he was there at half past 4 he was very good. Completed the job, got our shower working and it didn,t take him long. He was great.
DO NOT USE THESE RIP OFF MERCHANTS!! We needed pest control for a wasps nest. The engineers are not employed, just sub contracted, so ours finally turned up late, having only received the job 40 minutes before. His treatment didn t work. Two weeks later we called them back to get it sorted and were told we d have to pay the whole amount again. When I asked why they hadn t done the job properly the first time, as their web site suggests, they said it s in the small print . Take my advice, call a local contractor directly who actually cares what their customers need!!

Clear with the price. Same day service. The tradesman that attended phoned to let me know when he was half hour away. When he did attend he was polite and knowledgeable and fixed the problem, explaining exactly what was wrong. Can't fault him.
Terrible service. Cancelled on us twice after 2 days of waiting in. They literally could not care less. I called in the morning of the second day to check it was all ok and was told yes, only to be advised hours later nothing was booked. Left us without light in the lounge for 2 days.
If i could give this company zero stars i would. The customer service is shocking, trying to book to get a simple manhole service and every time i call i'm getting passed the around their colleagues like a brass on a stag do. Promised a quote, for the next day, 5 days and 3 calls later still nothing. You really need to sort out your customer service staff or get people in who actually want to be there. Constantly eager to pass the buck on to someone else because they clearly don't want to be on the phone. If you fancy receiving their services much later than you asked for and wasting a couple of days for a laugh then this is the company for you.
Awful company. The took on an emergency job with a 2 hour response and then let me down. They knew I wasn't on site so phoned the site number to avoid having to communicate their failure which also meant I didn't know I needed to arrange for a reliable company to carry out the work.
Called to fix my bi-folding patio door lock failure. I got same day appointment and I am charged 86.40 pounds for the visit (very expensive compared many others). I am told the lock is broken and they dont have spare parts of it and I need to contact the door manufacture. He jammed the door so that its safe at nights and did some small work for another door.
Was unable to open our upvc back door. Rang Everest who supplied it and they recommended a company called Window Doctor and gave me their number. I rang this and it turned out to be a firm called Able Group. Ok. Told them the problem and More
Promised to send a locksmith within a maximum of 2 hours having checked that there were 'technicians ' available in the area. Then called me back over half an hour later to say that they were not able to send anybody. We were locked out of our house with two young children. I even turned down another locksmith during this time who was then not able to come as he accepted another job. If they can't do the job that's fine but don't accept the job, take all the credit card details then leave us waiting for half an hour before deciding you can't make it!

After being delayed by 2.5 hours, this had to be re-arranged for a different day. I was advised for a slot between 8am and 12pm. After numerous phone calls back and forth and alot of complaining, the electrician eventually arrived after 7.30pm that night. No phone call to let me know that there was a delay. Several delays actually. The problem is still not fixed and we are having to find another electrician to fix the problem but yet there was no delay in sending me the invoice.
Unreliable! Requested for emergency boiler repair service was promised the visit before 17:00 and then less than an hour before the deadline called an cancelled, leaving us a very awkward situation as we could not find anyone else to attend. I don t know from where to begin really. Long story short, I was misinformed on the phone about prices, I was charged twice at the end for a simple job to change a broken glass! I spent endless hours trying to talk with somebody about the issue and all I wanted was the extra money I was charged for no reason to be refunded! They kept telling me that I was explained how their system works and I was the one who didn t understand but I proved them wrong! They listed to the conversations I had on the phone with their agents and I was right since the beginning! I sent various e-mails I was told that somebody from the customer service would take care of the problem within 14 days.... It took them almost three months and they kept avoiding the situation! I didn t like the fact that one of their managers was so impolite! I definitely don t recommend them! Their management is pretty bad and the definitely need to train their stuff.
Terrible company. Guy came round took my lock off , hadn't got the part , then said he would be back Monday morning . Had not showed up by 12 o'clock , I rang firm to cancel job . I had to get a different firm to do the work .Today they have had the cheek to ring up and ask for payment. Do not use this firm
The call out was fast and the repairer was excellent. I wish I could have given five stars but there was a glitch in sending me my estimate and I had to make several calls so 4 stars fairer result. Would nevertheless strongly recommend this company
I called Able to sort a wasps nest in the attic. The service was quick and efficient. Price was as I had expected, could probably have got it cheaper had I got a tradesman myself but for convenience sake it was worth it.
Locked myself out so asked for an urgent response. Got it well under an hour. Very pleasant chap arrived after taking a detour on his way home. Job done quickly and satisfactorily. Very pleased and would,highly recommend
I had a leak under my bath and rang them for a callout. The person who came did a good job and new what he was doing. unfortunately he broke the bath panel.
Absolutely unprofessional & horrendous service. Arranged for a engineer to come out & measure for a broken glass pane between 2-5pm. Engineer arrived at 8:30am & advised him no one is home & to return at the arranged time. Got a missed call at 12:30 & called back at 1pm.
Engineer advised he's already been at the property & measured up. No one was at home so the engineer decided to climb up & unlock the side access to my property from the inside & then proceeded to measure the WRONG glass. I have CCTV footage to prove it. All this without my approval just because he couldn't wait for the agreed upon time.
This charlatan decided to TRESPASS on my property gaining unlawful entry & told me he did it for my own convenience.
Needed a glass panel replaced in my front door. The whole process was easy from start to finish. From the call out to measure and quote, to ordering the glass, and finally to the installation. All done quickly and efficiently.
Booked in for a drain to be cleared, told between 6pm and 8pm, called me at 7pm could not provide an enginneer rebooked for 12-1 next day, had to chase and again failed to provide an engineer, appaling company. Made worse as I had to travel to the property! Do not use.

We had to find a company to board our window when we were broken into last week. We live near Lichfield in Staffordshire, the response, from the moment the phone call was taken to, within hours(!), the window being boarded, was phenomenal!! Excellent response from everyone concerned. We couldn t have asked for more in normal times but within the present climate, this was extraordinary service. Thank you.
The [local] engineer they sent out to fix my boiler was so unprofessional that he left it in an unsafe state! Decided to get a Care plan with British Gas. One of their Engineers managed to fix the problem without any hassle and aggro and not charging any hidden extras for it. :) After giving all of my evidence of findings of their engineer's botched 'job', Able rightfully refunded my money.
We had to have an emergency callout for a blocked outdoor drain yesterday. The Able Group were so professional and pleasant! I always brace myself for bad service but honestly, the 2 engineers who came were efficient and thorough!!! I'm so pleased thank you. What was quoted was carried out. 5 stars without hesitation!
Following the response below I still haven't been told what was wrong with the boiler. Your website says that there is no call out charge so if no work has been done on the boiler have I just been charged for an engineer to stand half an hour on my property?? I have tried to call you and can't get through.
We had to change the time slot at the last minute and it was no hassle. The price quoted over the phone was the price charge. A very efficient service.
Do not use this company. They have poor customer service, they were meant to come twice and do job and both times they did up. They did not attempt to call, it s just excuse after excuse. I logged call for manager to call me back and they didn t. Look elsewhere for company who appreciate their customers and are able to communicate.

I have been most impressed by the speed and efficiency of the company's response to my emergency call, despite the current lock-down. They arranged for a successful visit before mid-day on the day I called at breakfast time. Their representative was equally courteous, punctual, and co-operative. The whole experience was exactly as one would have wished (a very rare occurrence these days).
I found their service dreadful. It was an unpleasant experience. They promised to provide a certificate but failed to so. I got nowhere with their customer service team, finding them very unhelfpul. I cannot recommend them.
Appalling customer service. Told me they'd get me someone out on the day to fix a leak issue. Later that day I was called and told the plumber was stuck on a job and it would actually now be first thing the next morning. By then it was too late to get someone in that day. Nobody arrived the following morning. Have since been told that whoever told me they could get me someone in first thing in the morning was actually mistaken. When I pressed them as to what they could guarantee they told me they can't guarantee anything. I'm still waiting for our plumber to supposedly arrive. I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen. Wasn't even offered an apology the last time I spoke to someone. Complete time-wasters offering a non-existent service. Avoid at all costs.
I called on 23 december at 13:00 to someone to come to fix a dripping tap easy job maybe 5 min work for a professional worker they told me they have someone in the area and it will be to my house between 15:00 and 18:00 never show up i receive a call at 17:00 the guy who supose to come is stuck in to a job and can t finish till 18:00 its ok i understand they offer me someone in the morning maybe the same guy between 08:00 to 11:00 never show up ,call again asking where is the plumber instead i get told it will be with me till 12:00 ok i understand again never show up till 15:00 when i call again where is the plumber they said the guy is having the phone shut and like this ive been waited tilll 16:00 pm wwhen indecide to call Dyno company and they send someone Asap ,in conclusion i dont recomend Able Group or they engineers verry disppointed!!!
Avoid. I booked two days before I required their services. Was told that an engineer would visit between 1pm-5pm. No one arrived or got in contact. I called at 5:30pm to see what was going on and was told they weren t able to get ahold of the engineer and that they will most likely be there soon. Long story short, they never arrived. I m so dissatisfied at the lack of empathy and unprofessionalism! I wish they would have just told me earlier on in the day so I wasn t waiting at home all day and could have called another company. I am now left with two ovens in my kitchen.
Had (still have) a wasp nest that needed removing from the gutter of my house, I gave Able Group a try because they were highly rated and guaranteed a free revisit if the problem wasn't fixed. They came round the same day, the engineer inspected the nest and said everything looked fine, there should be no complications. After the spray the engineer said the wasps should disappear after 48 hours, maybe a bit longer because it was raining, but everything was fine and again, no complications so I happily signed the paperwork.
After 48 hours the wasps were still there, but I gave Able the benefit of the doubt and waited until 5 days after their visit to call them to book my free revisit. I was then told actually I need to wait 7 days before I become eligible for the free respray. Today it has been 8 days since the spraying, and I rang Able again to book my free respray, I was told that because of the complications such as 'the rainy weather' (in England), and the nest being in a 'hard to reach area', the engineer had voided my guarantee on the paperwork I had signed. I had explained over the phone when I made the booking exactly where the wasp nest was, and was told it would not be a problem, and it was already raining before the engineers turned up so they should have made me aware before they started spraying.
I argued that I should have been made aware of the complications before I signed, and that when I asked the engineer if everything went fine, he should have told me, instead of just ticking a tiny box on a big form. Able group refused to offer me a free respray or a refund, but did offer me an insulting 10% discount if I would like to book another spraying with them.
