They promised $150 credit at the time of joining but we were invoiced without the credit. So I called up the contact centre to inform about the absence of credit in the invoice. Pulse told me that credit will be adjusted at the time of direct debiting my bank account. And to my shock they debited my bank account without giving me the credit. So again I d to call Pulse. Then I was told the credit amount will be refunded to my bank account the next day. The next day I checked and it was not done. So I had to call them again. This time to my utter shock Pulse tells me that they do not do refund, they can only credit to the Power account. Those who are thinking of switching to Pulse PLEASE DO NOT DO IT. THEY ARE OUT TO RIP NEW CUSTOMERS. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. Thanks Peter Ray very much for sorting out my grievances. You delivered what you promised. That helped in retaining a customer. Much appreciated!

Pulse energy seemed quite dodgy from the get go, door salesman gave me a price supposedly much cheaper than what I was paying but somehow I ended up paying more every month. Upon leaving I was hassled by the retention team to continue using pulse even though I was adamant about my decision and gave specific reasons as to why I was leaving. The 30 days required notice to leave is too long in my opinion as I was only able to give 28 days and ended up with a $150 fee added to my last bill. However I ended up speaking with someone from the customary care team and then Lana and they sorted out removing this charge and remedying all other issues I had. My advice to any new customers is to contact pulse on anything you are unsure about and make sure you are getting the best deal possible.

I have had to give a '1 Star' rating in order to 'write a review' of this company. 'Imho' their contemptible service deserves them seeing negative 'stars'! I have spent a lot of time looking into their dealings with my invalid-beneficiary son, who has been paying them massive amounts over the past 15 months. And I have read, on this page, the very similar accounts of others. I can only wish that my son had checked these reviews, before he signed the contract that the "very charming and persuasive" salesman sold him, at what was a vulnerable period of his life. Rather than going into his many causes for complaint - which are mirrored by other people's comments - I'd like to suggest that all of us 'dissatisfied customers' each make our separate and detailed complaints to either: The UTILITIES DISPUTES or, The ELECTRICITY AUTHORITY both of whom could investigate and - if necessary - take punitive action against this company. I do note that by contrast - some of the comments are quite 'glowing' resulting in a fairly high overall rating of 'stars'. However it does seem that these mostly come from very new customers (accolades, no doubt suggested by the salesman) These 'positive' comnents are mostly very brief - because the new customers won't have had time to experience the level of 'service' - and mostly they are in praise of the "charming and persuasive" salesman!

This is a very bad company. The walk-in sales promote Pulse cheaper than a company I'm using. Why cheaper? It is because the sales qoute the price hiding GST to compare the existing company price with GST. I found I was deceived then I called their Hotline to cancel it after the sales gone immediately. I was shocked their keep process go ahead. I received a final bill from my old company. This is a dishonest rubbish company. I won't use this company forever!

OMG!! Please don't go with them. Frankly saying I remained with them for more than a year and that was my fault where I didn't check about a month notice before moving to another company. One of their guys called me about to pay the bill and I said to him I will pay my bill at the end of this month even he agreed via email. Imagine what they did. They sent my information to a credit collection company 10 days before the end of the month and they were saying please pay your bill. I emailed them about it and they kept replying to me they have taken out my name from the company and when I spoke to the credit company they said the pulse team didn't inform them about this matter. So Please get an idea about what they can do. if you are going with them to think a thousand times. don't go with them. Plzzz Plzzz Plzzzz

Their sales person was not honest. Told me their rates are the lowest but didn't tell us all the hidden costs they were going to add on. The total bill was more expensive than anyone else. Sales person told me: " your neighbour has just changed to us and street no. blablabla had done the same...." I should have asked for evidence before signing up. I have changed power company after few months.

I want to give Pulse energy a negative 5 star. As you can see, I switched from Contact Energy dice 10th Nov, and I do received the email with Pulse to welcome me to join them. But now, guess what happened! Wow, it s no power of my house! When I contact with Pulse energy, they are rude and refused to give me an explanation ! They TOLD ME I CANCELLED WITH THEM ON THE 28th of Nov, and what a perfect excuse ! I SWELL I DIDNT! I M THE ONLY ONE TAKEN CHARGE OF THE PROPERTY AND NO ONE MAKE THAT DECISION! NO EVEN AN EMAIL TO TELL ME THAT I M CANCELLING WITH PULSE ENERGY! COOL MAN! Update two days later Today, one of the customer service team call me and gave me the compensations about my complaint. It is acceptable as a result. But why not just don t let the thing happen at the first place, then the company could save more budget on cover the problem and be more efficient on the productivity. Here is just my opinion above.

After several teething issues with pulse energy's door to door representative, the resolutions department was extremely helpful and accommodating to upholding their terms as well as allowing me an early exit from their company. My advice is to avoid at all costs signing up with the door to door sales people and deal directly with their customer care centre as I found the woman who signed me up at my door was not fully aware of Pulses terms and was just trying to obtain our service by making false claims

Very difficult to deal with when arranging a new connection. Seemly have no understanding of the new connection process and came across very arrogant (when we could finally get through to them). Pulse was happy to leave their customer with no power for the 30 days they say it takes them to raise a metering works order. Everything was lined up and all bookings were made and the customer had opened an account, only required a piece of paper to proceed. I do not understand how this piece of paper takes Pulse 30 days to create, when other power retailers can do this within minutes??

One star is too generous for this company. They simply dont have a clue how to operate a business and customer service is not even a concept for them. They have a call back system where you dont loose your place in the queue. The queue must be a million people long as they never call back. Getting on to a supervisor is a waste of time. They give the standard apology with a "this wont happen again" excuse then it happens immediately. Save your self the hassel as they wont be in business much longer, GO ELSEWHERE!

I have been with Pulse Energy for more than 1 year. It was a great experience during that first year but when I was leaving them due to a move, I was initially charged $150 because I could not give 30 days notice as per contract terms. After contacting the Marketing department to complain about the charge, I was promptly and kindly contact by Lana of the Resolution department of Pulse Energy, who recognised that I had been good customers for more than 1 year and waived the $150 fee. Well done to a company who understand customer's difficulties to strictly follow Terms & Condition of their contract. I would not hesitate to use their services again and to recommend them to everyone.

I wish I could give them a MINUS FIVE STAR. The power bill is absolutely complicated... you have no idea how much you are actually paying per power unit.... I found that adding all the individual charges(7 items), I have been paying too too much... I had to prompt the team twice to get the promised credit to my account. I have given notice to terminate the service today. I would not go back to Pulse energy ever.

Ever since signing with the company (guy came to our door promising lower prices then what we were paying with powershop), in 3 month never received a bill until we decided to call and find out why, only to find that we been disconnected for not paying and outstanding balance is over 600 dollars. Which makes it 200 dollars a month. With powershop we never paid more than 150 in winter. Anyway please stay away from this company, they promise great savings, but charge a lot of extra fees which makes it more to pay then to be with other companies.

If I could give zero stars I would. Complete idiots working here. I recently signed up with Meridian from Pulse Energy only to be with Meridian for a month when Pulse wrongfully took my account back. After four phone calls with them after receiving an email from them indicating they would be taking my account back after someone from their sales team tried getting me to sign back up with them which I DID NOT AGREE TO, every single person on the other end of those four phone calls told me don't worry my account is still with Meridian the account wasn't going back to them, I get a bill from them instead of Meridian at the end of the month!!! Seriously, how many phone calls and idiots does it take to cancel a mistake they made! They had a month and four phone calls! I just called them after I received a bill from them which I shouldn't even have. No compensation for wasting my time or Meridians, just a measly sorry and confirmation that yes she did see the notes on their system that I called four times and that they shouldn't be taking my account back. What's the point of putting notes if those notes lead nowhere! Four phone calls! Instead of sitting on your arses and answering phones do your job! Useless! Avoid them like the plague!

There bills are so difficult to understand! 1st It says electricity charges due, 2nd total current amount due, 3rd statement closing balance, oh don't for get overdue amount, because I paid the wrong amount. Unfortunately they charge you $1 a day for overdue amounts. If paid the wrong amount & say it's 50 cents difference they then charge you $ 1 dollar a day on top of the overdue amount, this is daylight robbery. So over trying to work out their bills, definitely NOT CLEAR. I had all their charges reversed for 2 months after writing to their complaints panel, but the same continues to happen. After my orginal feedback.... I have been in negotiations with pulse & we have worked through the problems. They have CREDITED back the amounts that they charged, in GOOD FAITH. So they do try to help. They understand that their BILLS are difficult to read. But it's there system that adds overdue fee's to your account. Even if your overdue 50cents, it will still charge you a dollar a day. Make sure you PAY the right amounts every time. RING if in doubt. Some ppl are better to deal with then others in customer services :-) I have looked around & still feel their pricing is the LOWEST in "low user" power suppliers. Sometimes it's the PUTTING RIGHT that counts :-)

Pulse energy took over the apartment building without sending any notice and ask us for a signed contract. They out right assume the highest rates, surpassing what the old power company has given us. Apparently another power company had tried to sign up someone else to my address because the street names are the same but the suburbs are different. Scary to know that can happen!! But the people at Pulse spoke to the other company and got everything sorted. I hope you can pass on my sincere apologies to the first lady I spoke with.

Terrible terms and conditions! They says there won't be any contract, but charge you $150 when you opt for another provider. The reason they say is you have agreed something over the phone. I was signed up with Pulse 2 years ago and how do i remember what I've said 'yes' over the phone. In fact they advertise as a no contract company. Normally, companies warn people about charges when they move from one provider to another. In my case, there wasn't a call from Pulse energy alerting me of 30 days warning. Their 30 days warning period is same as having a contract. Very nasty trick! Someone is stolen my hard earned money.

I was so shocked and it felt like she wanted to say " why don't you just get lost, stop calling because I will never give you any solution" . You keep such kind of people in Pulse Energy and she would definitely take away some of your customers, may be she has been sent by your competitor to sway away your customers. Moving dates were completely wrong even though I ring them the day of my move! I requested my bills be sent via email months ago - this has never happened. Also requested that someone investigate my bills due to them changing the amount I owe so often - this request was ignored. Also requested I get a copy of all the bills over the last 3 months - you guessed it; never happened! Now they are wanting to charge me an early disconnection fee, which they said they would reverse! Pulse energy has such a rotten customer service. The customer service has really tortured me for a good 40 mins. It is a 0 star electricity company, I have never heard of such pathetic policy made by this electricity and the customer service said I agreed to this policy when I signed up. Saying that I can not pay by my card because the account is under my husband's name. Even after my husband's authorization that I can provide the necessary information to the customer service she doesn't want to listen to me when I provide them information and she literally say don't argue with me . How was that an argument!. Wrong timing written 8am to 8pm on pulse energy card they left me. But when I called customer service at 4.30 she said we close that 5pm and soon someone else will attend you, that is the policy.. I am like do I have to explain everything again to that person! Such a user unfriendly website, you send me missing bills on my email don't have a due date on it. Never communicated with me over the phone call. Disconnected my electricity without informating. And someone has to be home when you reconnect my electricity! Why disconnect no one said I had to be home when you disconnected my electricity? All the stupid made policy has to be in your favor! Thanks manager . Not mentioning the the price rates. I signed up through a website but when the bill managed to come the rated were totally different form the website information I signed up through. The hidden charges I tell you, Its vaguely written somewhere god knows where I never read it when signing up.

Bit shocking. I dont have a smart meter and they were happy with that initially - using estimates and me occasionally emailing them with the correct reading. Then I get a phone call to say they require 4 monthly reads at a charge of $30 a read. Which I though, sure ok. Then without warning, i suddenly was getting phone calls from the meter reader guy saying I needed monthly reads (yes at $30 a read) and Pulse just said "its a new requirement" with no elaboration as to why. So with $30 attached to my bill each month, I had no choice but to look for another , more sane, power provider. UPDATE: And now i have cancelled my account with Pulse, I find out they have charge me $167 (for what???? - I have paid my latest power bill) which is due in 2 days, right before Christmas!! So what I was going to spend on food to feed my kids, is now going towards a random bill I was not expecting. THANKS FOR THE JOYOUS CHRISTMAS PULSE

I called Pulse Energy explaining that our house had flooded, we had lost a lot of our stuff and had to move out, hence had to cancel our contract in the next 2 days. The lady on the other line told me of the $150 cancellation fee. I asked if it could be waived given we weren t changing provider, we had just lost our home. I was told no it could not be waived. I am in a vulnerable situation and was disgusted with the lack of empathy. My broadband and water/gas providers both waived their cancellation fees given the situation. I don t understand how the $150 is justified in this situation. Update: Pulse have been proactive in contacting me and have now offered for the $150 to be waived given my situation and have offered to discount my last bill as an apology. I appreciate the fast contact and am happy with the outcome.

Our property was between tenants we phoned and asked Pulse not to turn off power and we would pay any charges. Left name and MOB they agreed. When we returned 5 days later power was off. They took the complaint more seriously when Fair go was mentioned and said they would try and turn power on remotely which they did. The call was stressful and we have now been charged a reconnection fee which is unjustified as it was their mistake.
