Delivery was as promised, however screws didn't fit. I have been waiting since 1st May for another cupboard to be returned. Keep getting emails from Customer Services telling me that my complaint would be dealt with within a few days but I'm still waiting. Shame really because the furniture is good quality. Companies can't keep blaming the virus for delays. Next step my bank to seek refund.

Just going to add my voice to the sea of bad reviews.

Ordered a desk. They took the money. On the day of delivery, I received an email to say they were out of stock. They then offered me an alternative. I didn't want the alternative they suggested. As soon as I mentioned the word 'Refund' they mysteriously went quiet.

I've noticed they're sending all one star reviewers the same response:

"We would like to take the opportunity to resolve any outstanding issues you may have. If you could please email CustomerResolutionTeam@furnitureatwork.co.uk and attach your order reference to the email and this will be treated as a priority."

I'd love to know how they're going to treat that many people as a priority. This seems like just another way of stalling and making people wait for their refunds.

I d give this place ZERO if I could. Ordered months ago, money taken immediately. Fast forward a month, no chair. It s out of stock ther sat, despite the fact I d ordered a next day delivery item. I agree to wait a month. Fast forward three months, no chair. I ask for a refund. No chair, no money. Fast forward again I DEMAND my refund. They try to say my chair has been delivered and send me a photo of a house that bears NO RESEMBLANCE to my flat. I respond immediately advising THATS NOT MY HOUSE. Fast forward another fortnight. No money, no chair and radio silence. This lot should be shut down. APPALLING

THIS IS A SCAM! Don t waste your money. I ordered something in Mach. It never arrived and I can't reach customer services neither by phone nor email. They have clearly gone bust and ran off with customers money.

I did manage to get through customers service once a few weeks ago after a long long hold. They apologised bla bla and canceled the order but I never got refunded. I have contacted my credit card company for a refund/chargeback and will be reporting this company. I would suggest everyone do the same.

Ordered two chairs, one was incorrect (my fault) I tried to organise return but my request was ignored until I complained to Customer Services. I was then advised of a handling charge of almost 70% to return the unopened item even though I wanted to order a further item in its place.

Ordered a chair for next day delivery and didn't arrive for around 3 weeks with no contact from customer services.

I tried several times to call them but could never get through - funnily enough I could get through within a minute to the sales team. I asked how long it takes to deliver the chair I ordered and was told 4 days - I told the guy I ordered it 10 days ago and still hadn't arrived. He said he couldn't help and to call the other line.

Emailed several times and still no answer to my complaint to get the delivery cost back. Their website makes it look as though they are functioning as usual but they are not! Shouldn't be taking sales calls if you can't manage the sales you have already made. I understand it is a hard time currently but you are taking money for next day delivery and you're obviously not able to.

I send an email advising it's a breach of the consumer rights act to fail to deliver in good time with the terms of sale - then received the chair the next day - but they still haven't replied to any emails.

Please spend your money elsewhere, not worth the hassle.

Wish I had looked at reviews before buying. Ordered a chair and it said next day delivery. Didn't come the next day, which I thought was reasonable with the current disruption, so tried to contact them to find out when I could expect it. 5 days later, emailing every day, trying to get through on the phone every day, nothing. No response, no contact, no explanation and no chair. To repeat the vast majority of other reviewers, don't use this company, Maybe I'll get the chair, maybe I won't, who knows as no one will respond. Just beyond useless, even taking the disruption into account. They should at least change the next day delivery notice on their site to "whenever we get round to it but don't expect any information or customer service whatsoever"

Okay....after reading previous reviews I was sceptical of actually getting the product that I had ordered. However, my delivery arrived today within the expected, albeit 6 week delay due to corona virus and shortage of supplies, timescale. I have took a star off for the complete lack of customer service through e-mail or their online response form, of which, I received no replies to any of my requests for information. However as my product has arrived and within the expected delay timescale, I am a happy customer.

You can go ahead and purchase from this company only if you have no deadlines when your furniture should be delivered.

Before making a purchase, please remember:
- Customer service has literally no idea where your order is;
- They promise to check where the order is and get back to you, but in fact, the will never get back;
- So it looks like a fortune wheel between getting and not receiving your order at all, because company has zero idea where the purchased items are.

I believe it s misleading customers when you offer items which are in stock and true is there s literally empty stock...i was emailing and phoning company asking where is my chair several times with no answer... chair finally arrived today and box was open and damaged... terrible. I would give a negative star if there was an option!
I normally don't write such bad reviews, however, this calls for one.
Absolutely poor customer service and a very bad product.
Ordered the Posture chair as I was having severe lower back issues.
There was an obvious delay in the delivery (which is understandable considering the current covid restrictions).
When it arrived I managed put 80% of the chair together only to realise the chair has a tear on the bottom of the seat, photos attached.
Nevertheless, I immediately emailed their customer service without receiving any response for 4-5 days, email them again and they requested for a damage proof which I attached and sent it across. This was more than 7 days ago, still not heard a word from them. Calls are put on hold for a minimum of an hour and then goes unanswered.
It's been 3 weeks since I have fully paid for the chair and am still having to go through the same health issues with no viable solution or refund in sight. Needless to mention the waste of time and energy that went behind assembling the chair, the follow up emails and phone calls too.

After ordering with this company I read the reviews, and to say the least I was convinced I was never going to receive my order.

My estimated delivery date was the sixteenth of July. I had no email and no change of information on the order page up until the 23rd of Jul. On the 23rd I received a phone call from an unknown number, I answered and was greeted by Furniture At Work asking if I was available for delivery the next day (within the boundaries of the 'estimated delivery date'). After confirming this I received an email from the delivery company (Panther) with tracking information. My package arrived in three separate pieces all intact.

I believe that Furniture At Work is a small company, that outsource a lot of their orders to companies with excess stock. An assumption that would explain their competitive prices and possibly their delays. This doesn't excuse their lack of communication with other customers and it's possible I just got lucky. Look back a few months on the reviews before you count them out. Don't expect items on the estimated delivery date, consider the current global situation, and be kind.

Still haven't received the items we ordered THREE MONTHS later... have called & emailed countless times and the customer service department are a nightmare to get hold of... when we've eventually managed to speak with someone was told various things from "there's been a delay with that product" or "it's been dispatched and should be with you this week" - basically anything to get you off the phone! I ordered an office chair with a delivery of 5 working days which took 3 weeks and several phone calls, most were unanswered and I contacted them via email. I have now had the chair two weeks, you can feel the wooden base where the cushion seat is very poor and it feels that you are being tipped forward all the time. Today two caster wheels snapped off. I have tried ringing this company but again no answer so pressed 1 for a call back but so far nothing. I have also use their contact page to try and get an answer. I wished I had read the reviews first, I would never have used them. This was a Skye high back, black leather faced executive chair.

Horrendous Customer service. Ordered a chair that was meant to be delivered in 5 days. Money was taken straight away. On fourth day they confirmed that chair would take another 3 weeks before delivery. After several emails and hours on the customer service line without getting through I called their sales line which picked up after 2 minutes. This company has possibly the worst customer service but I did eventually receive my order 3 weeks after the expected date - the delivery note explained there had been problems but they had substituted for an equivalent product, which I was happy with. These are difficult times for businesses but a simple email saying your order is delayed but we re working on it would have gone a long way to improving the experience.

I ordered two chairs for 24hr delivery on the 27th of September. On the day of the delivery I called to see what time I could expect the delivery only to be told there was a problem. The chairs I'd ordered were out of stock - Although this wasn't mentioned upon ordering for 24hr delivery. I was told the chairs would be delivered on, or before the 20th of October. I was then offered some alternative chairs which I didn't want. I said I'd stick to the original order if they guaranteed I would have them by the 20th. On the 12th of October I checked to make sure the delivery was still and track and was assured that it was. However, on the 20th I was told there was a further delay and they wouldn't be available until the 26th. I was again offered the alternative chairs i didn't want. I do not believe the chairs were ever in stock. I believe they take an order then have the chairs made. The 24 hr delivery is just a false promise to trick people into ordering. Anyway, I'll be reporting them to trading standards, so I guess I'll find out.

By Tuesday hadn't arrived so I contacted them and was told the chair I ordered was out of stock until 5 weeks time and offered a lower quality alternative. Ordered a brown leather home office chair for next day delivery on 25th April. I wait expectantly until 3 days following the day it was due to be delivered, then I receive a mail to say it's out of stock and will I take this black chair instead.
No, I wanted brown.
Days pass, multiple e-mails sent and calls logged. E-mail conversations are slower than writing by hand and posting with a stamp and get you no further forward. Then I get a call from Bob Robinson who I can see is their Marketing Manager. Things are looking up. We have a good chat about how demand is through the roof and supplies are low but we look at stock whilst on the call and I agree to pay nearly twice as much for a different brown leather chair which is in stock and will be delivered by Wednesday 6th May. I have the order confirmation, I am confident.
Then silence again. Hopes dashed. Nothing arrives.
Then on Thursday 7th May they mail to say that the 2nd brown leather chair, which I had been told was in stock, and is twice the price of the original chair, is in fact not in stock and will I take the black chair instead!
No I bloody won't!
Seriously, what is going on in this company. I get that trading during Covid is tough, but align your stock systems and sales, sort out your customer services, call me - don't mail - we can sort this out in 5 minutes.

What a shambles of a company! I wished I had read the reviews before placing an order. I ordered a chair and a desk, chair was due on the 19th, its the 23rd now and no chair. I have called twice and when I do eventually get through the agents don't have a clue on whats going on a seem to think the chair has been dispatched. They contcact the warehouse whilst I am on hold (goodness knows what they are actually doing). I get no emails or follow up calls depsite being promised and update. The desk is due on the 4th but I am not holding my breath. I've tried to speak with someone all morning again today but the automated phone system gives you two options and you can't get through as it doesn't allow you to. I am writing to Trading Standards today if you can't provide basic customer service and are not trading properly you should not be in business. I've have been charged for everything.

It appears that I am one of a number of peoplr who have had similar experiences with Furniture@Work.

I placed an order with the company on 30/05/2020, and received a confirmation that the expected delivery date of one part of my order (office chair) was 05/06/2020, and the other part of the order (desk) was expected on 19/06/2020.

Part 1 arrived in time. However issues arose with part 2.

I received an email from "Customer Services" on 11/06/2020 advising that a revised delivery date was to be "on or around" 02/07/2020.

On 25/06/2020 I received a further email from "Customer Services" stating that the delivery date was revised again, and would now be "on or around" 06/07/2020.

The desk did not arrive on 06/07/2020, so I sent an email to "Customer Services" asking for an ETA. I received no response.

On 07/07/2020 I used the Contact form on the website, but received no response.

On 08/07/2020 I called the phone number on the website at various times during the day, but received no response.

I sent a further email on 09/07/2020, but received no response.

On 10/07/2020 I started the chargeback process with my credit card company, to get the money back for the desk that I jad paid for but not received. I was informed that this process could take up to 45 days.

On 15/07/2020 I received and email from "Customer Services" advising that the delivery date for my desk was now "on or around 27/08/2020" (3 months after purchase date). There was no acknowledgement of my previous emails.

I responded to this email advising that I wanted to cancel the remaining part of my order, and to receive a refund. I would then cancel the Chargeback process tbrough the credit card.
I requested that the company confirm via email that this would be done.

I received no response.

I sent a further email to "Customer Services" on 21/07/2020 requesting a response.

Coincidentally, the chargeback process refunded the money to my credit card late on 21/07/2020.

A response was received from "Customer Services" on 22/07/2020, confirming that they have contacted the warehouse to cancel my order, and advising that my refund will be processed in 10 working days .

I responded to advise that the refund was no longer necessary, as I had already received my money back through the chargeback process.

I have had no further communication from them.

I would not recommend this company. Their "communication" with customers is appalling. If they were to be open and honest about stock issues, then I would have more sympathy, but to be misled and strung along like this is unacceptable.

Ordered a chair for working from home in June 2020. Was contacted within a few days of my order to say they were experiencing delays in their supply chain due to covid19 and was given an expected delivery date five weeks ahead. Gratefully received my chair much sooner than anticipated and within 3 weeks of my original order. Happy with the quality and price of my chair. Was worried I had made a mistake ordering with Furniture @ Work having belatedly read google reviews, but I was happy with my experience and have no complaints. Thank you Furniture @ Work.

Incredibly poor. I ordered a chair which was never delivered. Communication was poor. Despite promising a refund none came. Finally I threatened court action and six months after placing the order I was refunded. Avoid especially if you have high blood pressure.

After 6 weeks and a cancellation notice they have failed to pick up the items on 2 occasions and will not refund my money becase they don't have the goods. - really, really poor service!

After spending ages getting through to customer service I eventually found out the chair was actually not available and wouldn't be for weeks. They don't respond to online forms or emails and it took literally almost an hour to get through to someone on the phone. Still waiting for acknowledgement of the cancellation of my order and a refund. DON'T USE.

Would have given NO STARS!, but seems you cannot do this!! Placed an order on 11th May specifically as it was for Next Day delivery, even the title of the product had next day in it.. Since then have received nothing.. have emailed 3 times.. nothing.. have emailed this am for a refund.. so we will see if I get any reply.. however, my guess is I receive... nothing...

If I do not hear back regarding my refund today, tomorrow at the latest, I may need to seek advice as to whether this site breaches Advertising Standards by advertising products that are clearly never going to meet the description as advertised on the Website. I fully appreciate that this current situation is unprecedented but to advertise products as they are doing and then providing absolutely NO information or responding to any communication is very unhelpful.

Every time I call they say you will get information at the end of the business day, and never come back to me. They don't want to do refund either, so I could buy something else. - I placed an order for two desks and two chairs on 21st March, paying significantly extra for each item for next day delivery.

- After receiving zero updates or delivery ETAs, and no response to emails or contact forms, I finally managed to get through on the phone at end of March, to be told my order was being held as one item was out of stock. We agreed to split the order, which three items despatched immediately and one to follow a week later . The three items arrived 30th March.

- Having received no update on the ETA for the outstanding item, and again no email response, I again called on 7th April. The gentleman I spoke with here advised that the item was actually not being manufactured due to the current situation. Reluctantly, he agreed to organise a refund that the customer service team would be processing within 7 days .

- I am still waiting for this refund, one month later.

Use a reputable company that actually knows what customer service means. This Company are only interested in generating income from new sales, then totally neglect and ignore good faith customers when they get your money. I wish I had never heard of them.

Update: they collected their damaged goods but after 30 days no refunds and ignoring any communication. So our money is gone and the goods as well. This is fraud in the 1000s of Pounds. Criminal charges will be filed. Beware. This is not a real company! BEWARE. They are just exploit people in times of crisis. Only answering machines and goods broken on delivery. Avoid as they do not collect their damaged items and they refuse refunds even if its their fault. We ordered desks and they were all broken on delivery. Since weeks they refuse email response or phone calls. Only their sales line takes calls. If you purchase there be prepared for problems and no genuine intention to help. The reply belong is also fake. Nobody ever replies to any email or phone calls! It's just another action that proves how disgusting this company is exploiting people in times of crisis.

Ordered a month ago, desk never arrived on delivery date given. spent 30mins in hold each time trying to get through to customer service to find out where the desk was. First they blamed DPD. However they eventually admitted they don t even have the desk in stock and wouldn t give me a replacement. They have wasted my time, terrible service and communication. I would never risk buying anything from them again.

I have been dealing my query since a month and its not sorted yet. I would never buy anything from ''Furniture@Work'' again.
Ordered a desk. It was delivered after 2 to 3 weeks with an 3 different instructions and LOADS of extra screws/ bolts (pictures below) ! NO PROPER INSTRUCTIONS because of which the desk top was damaged. Requested them for replacement and guess what, they wanted me to pay 50% +VAT of the total cost of the item.
WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY ! AVOID !!
* And I believe any 5 star reviews here (on websites) are done only by their staff !

Careful! These people are shameless in exploiting the current COVID crisis. Taking pre-payments on orders which they never fulfil. We order several desks and office equipment. All items were damaged when they arrived. Since 5 weeks, the company refuses to respond on any return / refund issue. Customer service is non existent. Simply disgusting business practices.

Ordered a Desk and Chair for next day delivery, both apparently in stock. Desk turned up the next day but the chair was not on the invoice. Called later that week and there was a message saying it may take 5 working days for 'next day' item. Gave it another week before I started calling/emailing them. Nothing back, no response to my 6 emails in the last month, cannot get through to customer services, was on hold for an hour last week before it cut off. Now you cannot wait on hold as it just says to call back later. All I want is someone to answer me, tell me roughly when it will be here, even if it is a few more weeks. Funny enough I did just get through to someone, the line went a bit wrong and I ended up talking to debt collection! Funny enough they said I had come through to the wrong extension, they transferred me to the message that cut me off.

Desk arrives 4th June 2020, chairs still not here, cant get an answer from furniture work, constantly on hold, I appreciate delays with COVID-19 but a month ? Plus not been kept informed

Terrible company - should be a negative star company. Please save yourself the time and trouble. I have received nothing and after many calls and emails they agreed a refund. BUT sneakily only refunded a portion of the order value. More phone calls sorting out why they stole my money. Finally got through and they immediately agreed to refund the balance (makes me wonder if this is their modus operandi and that they hope people don t notice) only to find that the phone line is PREMIUM so the whole thing has still cost me money yet I received nothing. I wish I had read the reviews about this company before placing my order - I truly do as you can see how many people have problems with them.

Wrong name on invoice, wrong item dispatched and IMPOSSIBLE to reach customer services. I've emailed them twice (no response ) and spent 1.5 hours on their customer service hold then got sent to voice mail-again no response. Terrible. Wish I'd never ordered from them. I'm now stuck with massive box in living room and no way of getting them to respond.

Disappointed. We've used this company in the past with no issue, they have good prices and the free delivery is very useful as a small company who don't have large furniture orders.

However, this time I needed a chair to urgently replace a broken one so used next day delivery. Failed to turn up by 4pm the next day so I chased. They said it was out for dispatch and expected it to be with us, and they would follow up for me. Had to chase again the next day as heard nothing and no chair, and only then did they admit it wasn't in stock and won't be with us until a week later! (If indeed it does turn up tomorrow) Poor customer service and will make me rethink using them in future.

Terrible company to deal with. Had given up ever seeing my chairs which we ordered first week in June. Copied a breach of contract letter from Trading Standards web-site sent it yesterday -chairs arrived this morning!
Was this a coincidence? Be warned they are impossible, rude and unhelpful to an extreme.

I have had the same problem as the reviewer below. Dreadful service. I ordered a desk and chair in April. Cancelled the desk within 24 hours. It arrived anyway. Refused delivery and sent it back with the courier but still no refund (9th June today). Emails and calls unanswered, very stressful.

Originally I gave this company 5 stars but after the debacle going on now I'm going to change this. Ordered desk and chair back in April. Chair on next day delivery but turned up 2 days later, no big deal still have a table and chair anyways. Desk delivery June 6th so thought well got one part need to wait due to situation we're in. End of May get an email desk is now not in stock so could either wait for it to be in stock, see what else is available or cancel order/refund. Emailed back to say can someone contact me to arrange see what else is available. Since the end of May nothing. Radio silence. Its now the 16/06 and no contact regarding this. Absolutely appalling customer service. I'm now in process of arranging refund from credit card bought with. Teaches me a lesson on not using companies such argo, IKEA and the likes. Never again, avoid avoid!
