I only have great things to say about my experience with Riley at Colorado Dept. of Labor and Employment. He was the most professional and understanding agent. I am sure answering all of my questions wasn't easy and he did it promptly and was excellent. I know my call wasn't his easiest call and he had the utmost knowledge and customer service and I am thankful for employees like him.

cannot praise these good folks enough many years ago i had an issue with metro pavers inc in adams county they terminated me based off of bogus claims of damages etc as a result of my so called negligence and decided they were NOT going to compensate me for the 3 days i worked i went to building downtown filed a claim and i received my check very shortly there after they told me be prepared for a 90 day wait average i believe took 2 weeks tops i was very much so satisfied thankfull and relieved i never returned contact to confirm i had indeed received payment being a punk kid at the time but a hard worker nun the less i wanted them to endure more hassle from this agency. sorry for the delay but i formally thank all who Assisted in ensuring i wasnt robbed for my Labor

I've been trying for over a month and I CAN'T believe how terrible this service is, especially at a time when we need their help the most and need to speak to someone now. There is no way to reach them and no option to ever receive assistance. I just can't believe that they're doing this to us. I feel helpless, frustrated and angry at the system for not being there for all of us in our time of need.

I haven't been able to get paid for my first week of unemployment due to THEIR system's error, and you can not reach a live human being to get anything done. I had to wait 6 weeks for a call back, and when they did call, I picked up the phone and heard them chatting on the other end but they couldn't seem to hear me, so I never got my callback. The next callback I could get was 8 weeks away. They need to hire people.

I ve been waiting for 3 months to get any sort of payment through unemployment. When I call they immediately hang up on me. Tried emailing them and got a few responses back but didn t tell me anything that helped. I ve been trying to email them again to let them know I still haven t gotten paid and I ve been waiting two weeks for a response to my email.

I totally understand that they are bombarded with claims, but not being able to to reach someone by phone or email is ridiculous. I ve called several times and listen to about a 3 minute message and continues to tell you to wait on the line for an agent and at the end it tells you all agents are busy and to try your call later and hangs up. I ve even contacted the governors office on his website and filed a complaint about this and asked to have someone contact me. I have yet to even receive confirmation that the governors office received my message. You would think during this time they would hire some extra people at least to answer the phone and answer questions and take important information for claims. I think there s an abundance of qualified people available and willing to work.

I received unemployment during the times outlined in regards to COVID-19. I left the organization because it was either I break the law and lose my certification or I quit. Not to mention I filed a complaint with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment who did nothing to follow up on seeing if patient abandonment was occurring. Lets also talk about the fact that I asked my employer for more than 24 hours a week because I was hired at full time...or I would put in my 2 weeks. My supervisor texted me back and stated that my resignation was accepted effective immediately. I was denied the stimulus payment because of "personal reasons." Yeah sure...personal reasons such as not being able to feed myself or pay my bills. Not to mention the fact that they wanted me to break the law. So glad that CDLE would rather me break the law than quit a company with corrupt morals. At least the DOD took my complaint far more seriously.

Filed back in JUNE, my online account says approved and paid. I never received the money. When I called they said wait a month, which put me after the covid-19 relief, still never received the money. Started a new claim, never got paid although online it stated it was approved and paid. Yes I have checked all my accounts and the debit card I opt-out of. Called customer service again, waited 2 hours for them to just hang up on me. Called an office located an hour and a half away and they told me I could get an appointment in October. It is becoming clear that these people are failing at their job and couldn't care less if we get financial support... Families are loosing everything, please fix your system!

Call to be put on hold and then hung up on. This has been going on for 5 weeks now. How the %$^%^& are we supposed to get any answers. Ridiculous! This is what my tax dollars go to is for this. I am getting agents name and making records and will send in.

Filing unemployment in this state is a joke. For some reason, you only have 24 hours to complete an application. Ok, fine. The problem is their system crashes and shuts down for maintenance regularly, sometimes without warning. And right now, you can only file a claim at certain times of the week based on your last name. That means that if the system crashes and you are unable to work around their arbitrary last name restriction, your ENTIRE application may be deleted after that 24 hour mark. This is the situation I am in right now, and I have no idea what is going to happen to my application at that 24 hours mark. Can you see how this is a major problem?
This system was designed without ease of use in mind, and is a genuine hinderance for people who need unemployment to survive. And maybe it's intentionally difficult so that people will just give up on their application.
Additionally, this is a problem that will disproportionately affect minorities/people with disabilities, as these groups are statistically more likely to be vulnerable to unemployment. And more likely not to have consistent internet access.
Anyway, I called the call center to see what was going on with my application, and I was on hold for half an hour. I get it, there are probably way too many calls for the staff to handle right now. A woman named Cora answered and I asked her how she was doing. She told me she was upset because calls that weren't her department kept getting routed to her. Then she put me on another hold, and then another because she was having IT issues. She did not seem familiar with the application system at al land was unable to answer basic questions, claiming "I'm not in IT". All I wanted to know was if my application would be gone if I tried to fill it out tomorrow. She was extremely dismissive of me and the issues I raised with the unemployment systems, and wouldn't transfer me to a supervisor or even someone that could actually help me. Then she hung up on me.

Final rating: 0/10, abysmal customer service and incredibly unituntive application system.

I iwsh I could leave a zero. Were in a pandemic. This is real. We need aid. No customer service. It took to months to get a phone call. They won't even let you in the building unless you were one of the lucky ones to score an appointment online. COME ON. GET IT TOGETHER POLIS

Coronavirus (in November) is no longer a legitimate excuse for the extreme list of inadequacies and deficiencies we face with the Colorado Unemployment Division. I cannot even begin to express my continued frustration and disappointment with the CDLE. It looks like a failure of planning, will, administrative ability and leadership. In 9 months you have failed to remedy even the most basic and simple of fixes, remained tone-deaf to the public, and cannot deliver your services in an efficient and timely manner. I would be glad to help if you need more specific information, or would like to hire me to perform an audit, or take over as your Public Entity Risk Manager. You have my information.

What an absolute joke. Waited 3 months for my callback. Day finally comes, no one calls. I then wake up the next day to a missed call from them BUT with a voicemail saying they will call back in 30 minutes. That 30 minutes came and went. The absolute ineptitude of this department is astounding. The government is quick to lock us down but when it comes to helping us, next to impossible.

The CDLE does not care if you live or you die. I have several underlying illnesses and my account has been on hold for over 3 months because my home address and mailing address were different. I had to get in touch with the senators and legislators office just to find that out after being told "We dunno nothing, kick rocks" for 3 months. I am now prepared to die without ever seeing my mother again. Thank you CDLE for making sure I die alone with a massive debt. I couldn't have done it without you.

Worst service ever. My daughter was getting unemployment checks and sadly they stopped coming with no explanation. She has tried to get into her account numerous times and her account is locked. She has tried calling for help and is always disconnected no matter what time of day she calls. The recording simply says that they have a high call volume and to call again later.
They sent her a new pin number but she still can t get through.

She tried to get an appointment but there were no appointments available. So she isn t getting any of her checks and she still has to pay her rent or she will lose her apartment.

The lack of any sort of help available through this office just makes it completely impossible to accomplish anything.

The lack of communication from the unemployment division is absurd. I have called over 700 times since March and have only been able to get through once. My claim was mishandled from the get-go, causing me to be forced to retain an attorney in order to appeal as fast as possible. I still have not received any correspondence/benefits a week after my appeal was GRANTED. Polis needs to order an investigation into their practices. How can their phone lines constantly be busy? Moreover, why is there no other way to speak with someone?

Been calling and emailing for years over getting paid, w-2s.....I have not one time ever been paid or even had a reply from the department of labor. They just send forms to fill out and when you email them back and sit on the phone for hours to talk to a human they say they never got their forms redo them is their answer. I am owed over $12000 and I am sure as with the labor board's competency of never answering a question or returning phone calls...I will never get paid! Thanks from a Veteran who lives on the streets cause of this! Go too work and not get paid and the companies who don't pay know they don't have too knowing the labor board won't due anything about it! 5 years waiting to get paid! As of April 03 I lose out on $12,000 due to their incompetence. I live in the State of Montana. Earned wages in the 2nd quarter of 2019. Montana has requested my wages from Colorado UI on three occasions over the last 11 weeks. Colorado UI is an epic fail! My case has been escalated to Montana s highest level and still nothing.

One can t even speak to a live representative from Colorado UI. They ve made it impossible to do anything outside of making an appointment for someone to call back. The wait time for a call back is nothing short of 30-45 days. This is how people end up in the street!

I m writing a letter to every agency and government representative to vet the above. Colorado doesn t have the right to not respond within a reasonable time frame pandemic or not!

This is unacceptable in every way! Terrible, under managed government agency ever! Hire more people, Colorado UI! You have plenty of funding but are failing we the taxpayers in monumental proportions!

Constant attitudes given over the phone and I even had one woman laugh at my husband when he expressed his frustration of not receiving his check during this time of the year! How unprofessional, I am just disgusted. We had to wait 1 1/2 to speak to someone. This place is the worst.

So I requested payment on July 19th for the previous two weeks. My claim on MYUI said approved at the time and didnt not say I needed any work contacts or to register with the workforce center. On Monday my claim was changed to pending approval, I wasn't payed for the two previous weeks in which my claim was approved, and now MYUI is saying "active issue: workforce registration pending review" I've now register for the workforce but nothing has changed, still haven't been payed for those two week and I dont know if I will be.

The government is failing us, and is failing to even communicate properly with us. You can't speak with a person, only schedule a callback. The first date available for a callback is August 20th, hahaha. Some people have even said they aren't actually calling people back.

I find it despicable that they leave you no way to contact them by phone or email and the only way to ask questions or resolve problems is by calling them by phone or email. My daughter was furloughed in February due to the pandemic. She filed a claim immediately which posted March 12, 2020. Her claim remains "pending" and no matter how many times we fax over the documents to resolve the issue, they don't look at it. She is now evicted from her apartment, hiring freezes all over our town, no income and no hope of an income for weeks to come and her claim remains "pending". According the "pandemic" phone line, the only way to resolve her pending issue is to call the main line. When you call the main line, it tells you "call volume is high, try your call later." Why is it necessary to send over four different sets of the exact same documents and they are never processed or even looked at and no call backs ever come????

We understand you have a high call volume, that is no excuse for not implementing a system that allows for call backs. Whenever you call the division now the automated system just says there s no call back times available which is ridiculous and a lie, they just don t care and neither does Polis. Other states actually let their constituents wait on hold or request a call back.

I am at a loss for words. I filed my unemployment claim on April 5th. I accidentally selected the wrong pay period, mailed in all the paperwork to get it fixed and still nothing. I've tried calling for weeks, just to be told the lines are too busy. Every. Single. Day. I have been unemployed since March 28th, and haven't received any help from the state in terms of unemployment. I truly hope others are getting their much needed money.

Apparently masses of us Colorado Pandemic claimants have had our birth year changed to 2020, so that it invalidates our claim. Since no one ever calls us back, they are keeping the money. Absolutely horrible to work with. As a vendor payments were consistently 3-5 weeks late or LONGER then what was promised, making this pretty difficult to count on when my student needed classes. On top of this on going problem for a year they decided to connect with another vendor and not one person in this facility or my student had the decency to contact me before that person's lessons became cancelled. I got an email stating that this contract had changed an hour before their lesson and then also received pretty degrading emails about my "basic level teaching" yet i've had 7 years direct work and professional experience from DeEtte Altvater. This case worker was fired for her poor performance and nasty emails. Vendors be warned!

Its astonishing to see how fragile, and weak these systems are, not just the systems but the actual employees of this institution are at best holding the education of an 8th grader. How could their system fail so hard? Yes its a unique situation but this goes to show how goverment dependence in any form, will never benefit society, they can't return a call, an email, answer basic questions accurately or honestly, and now they have hired Temps to field their calls from home with no protection of sensitive data, but wonder why they have fraudulent cases? Mind you they are bankrolled by the public at large. Curently I have noticed a disturbing trend, the Department of labor in Colorado is intentionally removing comments about an issue that is currently automatically denying claims with no reason. It started right after the 600.00 stopped. They know ita happening but refuse to admit it. I understand that its embarrassing to them to be completely unable to utilize a computer, calculator and even a pen and paper for that matter but it at a minimum needs to be acknowledged. This place is very frustrating I have been calling about my card for about 2-3 weeks now and I still haven't received it yet in the mail I been on unemployment since the coronavirus pandemic started and they locked my card due to fraud and I had to request a new card in the mail. This is the most broken system you can imagine. There has been absolutely no one to talk to. I have not received any payments since 10/3. The systems says I am eligible yet I am denied. I finally talked to an agent 12/18/20. More than 2 months since my last payment and even she could not understand or explain why I have not been paided. I can handle no if I had done something wrong. Unbelievably difficult to wade through their process that clearly appears to be designed to prevent successful outcomes. System glitches combined with changing and inconsistent requirements AND impossible wait times on the customer service hold line (2 1/2 hours w/a hang up at the end) during the application AND reapplication process make for a virtually impossible situation. Totally absurd!! They know, full well I m sure, that their design model has been created specifically to prevent successful filing of applications and consequently denial of unemployment compensation. It s a government SCAM! Incredible!! We are in big, big trouble! Mortgage trouble, food trouble, utilities trouble, car payment trouble and we ve been paying taxes and insurance through our employers, to the State of Colorado, for 30 years to help cover us in EXACTLY THIS TYPE OF SITUATION and now that we need the State s help the State says DISALLOWED and INELIGIBLE ! With NO WAY TO APPEAL. It s a scam. Where has all the money gone??
And yet I m out of work through NO FAULT OF MY OWN! (COVID19).
We need to file a class action lawsuit against the State of CO for all of the folks, just like us, who are being ripped off.

To everyone who is complaining about the system, wait times, and not receiving any benefits: make sure to vote NO on lowering state income tax. THAT'S WHERE UNEMPLOYMENT FUNDS COME FROM! No taxes = no assistance. Please don't forget that. People who live in countries with a higher tax rate get better roads, schools, free child care, free health care and assistance when things go sideways, AND they don't have to wait for 3 months to file claims due in 2 weeks. I didn't claim right away as I had money in the bank. But thinking that I would get back to work sooner then 4 months. I went through all my savings and checking accounts. Hoping that I could get some money back from back months. Didn't happen I've talked to customers service many times and all they say is they'll look into it. I was told it could take up to 21 days that was 34 days ago. Failed system, failed the citizens of Colorado. Thank you!
