Would not recommend this company to anybody. Horrible customer service. The loan officer Talia Reed will tell you nothing but lies if you could ever get her to answer the phone. Do not make the same mistake I did and save yourself some time call a local bank

My experience was great. From start to finish they were pretty responsive (thanks Jared n Ryan!) and kept me up-to-date on the process. Appraisal done through outside source, still it was faster. Got my loan money in 2-3 weeks. I didn't have a great score and DTI either, but was able to get the loan for a little higher rate, which otherwise I wouldn't have gotten through my banks. Would recommend them definitely.

Trust me save your time, what they ask for and tell you in the beginning will not be what someone else will ask you for later.
Apparently they don t communicate well with each other. All done over the internet incl appraisals.
Appraisal is done by someone in another state looking at properties on the internet.
Compared non lakefront homes to lakefront home and were off over 100k from two local appraisers that actually come look at the property.
Now if they say it s not enough then they will give you the option to pay for an appraisal.
Told 21 days in the begging, gave them all they asked for in the beginning with 7 days. They keep sending auto generated emails asking for stuff they ve had for weeks because they don t communicate with each other.
4-5 weeks later I told them to forget it and we moved on to a local reputable company.
I was so impressed with everyone I spoke to at Spring EQ. Everyone was very knowledgeable and helped me through a process that I really didn't understand. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a loan.
Lending companies like this one who buy or scour around for personal information and then solicit you for the purpose of selling equity loans are at the bottom of the barrel in my book. Reputable companies don't do that. These guys cast a wide net hoping to find people who are not savvy or desperate enough to take the bait. People who work for these loan scamming boiler rooms have non conscience.

I worked with Spring EQ for over a month, negotiating a home equity loan. I supplied all the necessary documentation. I would hear from them routinely during the process, but never got a call to explain why I was denied. They simply mailed a form in the mail with a check mark next to a one-sentence explanation. I have emailed twice with no response. Very bad public relations Spring EQ...very bad!

Send resume for a Post Closing Position and received email from Recruiter to go over position. Contacted her back when she could contact me and never heard from her again. Even called her and no response back. I have over 10 years Post Closing experience including being a supervisor and this company cut me off totally with no reason. Told Position filled but keep posting the position which has been for weeks. I would think if the position was filled they still wouldn t be advertising. This is supposed to be a best company to work for????
I initially was told this would be seamless, quick and transparent. Thalia Reed was my loan advisor. She was very kind up front and seemed like she was attentive and responsive. Over the course of my loan the communication with her became less and less. I was told I had a very good chance of getting this loan, I got my appraisal with over 70,000 equity in my home and provided all the necessary paperwork very quickly. The problem was I work in the medical field and I had a very tricky switch with my two jobs. I was full time at one and PRN at the other. Then the roles switched. So I went part time at one and full time at the other due to schedule changes. The pay was the same so my total income didn t change at all. Just the status of my jobs did. They requested a letter of explanation which I provided and offered to give my Paycheck stubs. But the minute there was a glitch in the paperwork I was ghosted! I emailed Thalia several times without any communication back. I waited and just thought they were still working on my income verification but that wasn t correct. They declined my entire loan due to not enough income when I made nearly 100,000 that year. I called several timeS requested an answer and nobody could give me any details! I was just told to give my information and someone would get back to me. Nobody ever did! I finally received a letter in the mail with the decision and no other further communication was ever given. I had a drop in my credit score due to the inquiry which I was Leary of in the first place. I paid for an Appraisal for my condo which was pointless and the decision just didn t make sense because they never reached out to clarify or resolve any confusion or misunderstanding! I am very disappointed in the way they handled my situation and I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING DUE TO THIER LACK OF MORALS, COMMUNICATION AND BUSINESS ETHICS! DON T TRUST THEM THEY'RE THE MOST DISHONEST COMPANY I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH AND THIS WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!

I went through my credit union and closed within 3 weeks...

Once the appraisal came back missing one bedroom and bathroom i d had enough and went somewhere else and was able to obtain the heloc in two weeks. Justin the manager tried to help after I complained but he was busy as a manager. Do not recommend at all.

The world is in a crisis. We were looking for an equity loan based on the equity in our home. This company made us jump through hoops that Kobe couldn't make it through - in spite of having an immaculate credit history - no missed payments in 21 years, high rating this company kept us hanging for 3 weeks. Then denied it. Instead of making a difference this company is just as bad as a big lender. Honestly we didn't try our banks - probably a big mistake. We have equity in our house and good credit history. This is America - this is bleak and Spring is a bad guy.
around 18 days to close not bad same stupid questions over and over but I expected that because every time I refi or purchase a new house it is always like that I would use them again

When I first took a call from Jake at Spring EQ I was not really interested in pursuit of an equity loan due to past experiences of talking with pushy sales people. So when I took his call my challenge to him was "Convince me that working with you and your company would benefit me more than another company and would be good for me as well as you!" with great patience, respect and clear details he did! He was most concerned with what I needed to do and then exceeded even my expectations to put me and my family in a much better place than I ever imagined. Working with him and then Teneeka the customer service advocate as a team put together a plan and deal that I didn't think possible. They walked me through each step of the process to bring me to a successful reconstruction of my financial situation. All this was consistently followed up by Drew, the Chief Experience Office to make sure that WE were getting what we needed from this loan! From beginning to end they all gave us the feeling our needs were the most important items on the agenda, Without hesitation I would, will and DO recommend Spring EQ for anyones' financial needs. Overall great experience! I went through SpringEQ to obtain a Home Equity Loan for some home improvement projects I wanted to work on--I didn't want to refinance my house as part of the process and that's one of the perks of going through SpringEQ, you don't have to. The entire process was quick (took a few weeks from when I applied to when I received the money) and the team was friendly and very responsive. I would highly recommend using them if you're looking for a home equity loan with very competitive rates (they were 3-4% lower than other places I looked while shopping around) and quick service.
SpringEQ was terrific. Frank Ranzino, my representative, was absolutely wonderful and followed through each and every step of the way. I also received calls from Mindy (hope I got her name correct) who was fantastic after the loan closed and waiting for the check. I would recommend SpringEQ over all the big name companies. Too many promises from others where SpringEQ doesn't need to boast, but puts their words to solid results. While I hope I never have to have another HELOC, I would choose SpringEQ again if needed. Agree with other posters drive by appraisal a joke. They don t take into consideration other properties in the vicinity or in the case of a high raise condo other units in same building.
Got into an argument over how Am Ex cards work and was asked to provide proof I could pay the account based on one months bill. Am Ex is a monthly pay in full account based on how much used during month. They also have a revolving line. Company had trouble understanding this and asked for proof that I could afford to pay an account a monthly amount based on December bill despite the fact account had been opened 25 plus years with never a late payment.

Staff was very helpful, responded to emails and calls very promptly. Their online portal to submit documentation too was very easy to use and I could see the details of my loan. My loan took just a few short weeks to complete. I think the only I would change is the disbursement of fund to creditors. Instead of sending the funds to the customer, Spring EQ should send out the funds to the creditor.

I began working with Scott Lindsey to take out a HELOC in May. At first, very helpful and communcated daily. As the weeks went on he ( and after he obtained all of my personal information) he quit responding to emails and phone calls. Now when I call or email he just rings and rings and he quit returning my messages. I'm starting to think this is some type of ponzy scheme. Red flags are up as they obtained all of my info and then disappeared. I'm contacting BBB. I'll keep you updated.
I applied for home equity loan have excellent credit paid the 150 appraisal fee no problem They come back saying our home isn't appraising for what we thought..Even though the comps around me are all around 205-225 mine appraised for 198.sorry thanks for your donation of 150..I feel I just got robbed ..
I researched many options, Wells Fargo, Discovery, Citi, Chase. Their rates were higher than I wanted, SpringEQ came at a lower rate. Also their process was flawless in every step of the of the loan process, The communication and follow up was really good and I am glad we decided to use their service. Do not use! We were in the process of getting a home equity loan, were told everything was great just needed an appraisal. Paid almost $600 for an appraisal then got ghosted. We were told two separate reasons that had nothing to do with the appraisal and when we tried to resolve them (the reasons weren t accurate) no one would call us back. We asked to speak to a manager or different loan officer and a week later have yet to hear from anyone.
Overall very good experience. They offered me the lowest rate and I closed in 3 weeks from initial application. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant from beginning to end and the communication and replied quick to my emails.
I was complaining to a friend how much trouble I was having getting a loan approved with a company who promised quick and easy service. My friend gave me a number to call and when I did, I was put in touch with Spring EQ. The first person I spoke with at Spring EQ was Justin George and he was really on top of his game. He would contact me quickly the moment anything changed with the loan process. He always returned my emails or phone calls within 24hrs. I was amazed at how fast everything was put through. And my loan process was over and done with in a little over 2 weeks, without multiple people calling and mailing me asking for the same info over and over again.
Terrible experience. Told we would get our money in 2-3 weeks. We were approved after 2 weeks and then they went radio silent. After a few weeks and multiple attempts to try to get an update, we were told we were no longer approved. (Our credit is spotless) So here we are 2 months later and having to start from scratch somewhere else.

I was fed up with my banking institution. I attempted a refinance with them, and due to a 600 dollar discrepancy in the appraisal, they doubled the interest rate.
Enter SpringEQ. I happened to browse lendingtree and check out some companies. Within minutes Austin reached out to me. While the initial interview was professional, it also felt very welcoming, like I ve known the guy my whole life. He got me started and headed down the right path. Within a few days we were already sending papers to the underwriter. That s when Teneeka came into the picture. She was very knowledgable and you could tell she took pride in the job she did. All told, this team of people are some of the best I have ever dealt with. I sincerely can not say enough good things about them. The whole process only took a few very short weeks, and was painless.

I found that the loans they offer are no different than any other lender. It wouldn't be a big deal except they pitch it as if they are able to do something significantly different than any other lender and that is not at all the case. Anthony was professional just wish I had more information before a credit pull was done.
Buyer beware! I gave them two stars only because I was credited for the $149.00 (appraisal fee) and thank god I didn't use them for a home equity loan. Do not use the drive by appraisal they under valued my house by $100,000.00. In the end I used my local credit union. They appraised for the correct value and even received a better rate. My only suggestion is shop around.

I had never heard of them prior to them contacting me after my Lending Tree inquiry into HELs, so I was a tad hesitant. I had a really great, no-pressure conversation with our loan officer, Christine. She answered all my questions and made the process super easy. Our loan advocate, Mindy, took care of all the loose ends, paperwork-wise, and was always responsive to my questions. The loan portal we accessed for submitting documents and checking our loan status was very user friendly. The best part was the amazingly fast close - less than a month! The worst customer service and response we've ever experienced. We have bought three homes in the last four years and done a couple refinances. Hands down this was the worst experience.
They do what they call a drive by appraisal and valued our home far below and then sent a message to contact them to discuss our options. We responded immediately. First, by email with the several comps that were not the quality, older than, and with smaller lots that sold for 25.00 or more per square foot within the last thirty days. Then we called and left voice mail after voicemail with no return for nearly a week. All the while still receiving a daily email at 7 am. We need to talk to you about your options please call.
We emailed her direct supervisor that was in a welcome email all of the comps and a long letter expressing our frustration.
Finally, a different "manager" called and asked us to send the comps to him. We did and he never got back to us.
Days go by and we are still receiving the 7 am email.
We decided to check out a local credit union and not only did we get a much better rate and terms we were funded with more money in less than a week.
We were shocked that we received what seems to have been a
"Hail Mary" email saying

It wouldn't show us the amount, terms, payment or anything without signing in and we were highly suspicious at that point and would never give business to a company that doesn't return phone calls, and respond to emails, especially when they are sending emails saying to contact them. This is production company built on volume, not customer service.

If you are looking for a home equity loan (i.e. not a HELOC or 1st refinance) Spring EQ is the best option. We were only 7 years from paying off our 1st and we wanted to buy land for a retirement property. We wanted ONLY a home equity loan. We did not want to start over on a 10 year mortgage. Spring EQ was the only lender who listened to us rather than trying to talk us into a total refinance with $9K in closing costs. If you have a similar situation, skip the annoying calls from other lenders and go straight to Spring EQ.
Got $20,000 home equity loan. It was a breeze. Very fast too. Plus I was kept informed all along the way. They came to my house on a Friday afternoon and papers were signed. Thanks Spring EQ!
I worked with Stephanie Molishus and had the MOST unprofessional experience of my life. She did not advocate for me and left me to continue to pursue her for information on my loan status. I had just refinanced my entire home with a broker who fought for me and to clarify the information that was holding me back with underwriting and with Stephanie it was the complete opposite. She didn't even have the integrity to call me and tell me underwriting didn't want to move forward--she emailed.
She had ZERO sense of customer service, NO communication and no idea how to advocate for her client. This company left me hanging for a MONTH on their decision.

Update to previous comments - New person assigned, lower rate offered with no points, and loan finally processed. They came through eventually. ******FRAUDULENT is how the whole process feels. They call you multiple times a day UNTIL you send them every detail of your personal and financial life, THEN you don t hear anything at all from them. You have to track them down and multiple times find out something went wrong and they had to start over. Feels like they are delaying long enough to wipe your account accounts. No response from CEO after sending him an email, no ability to talk to anyone other than your loan representative. VERY FRUSTRATING to work with. Two months into the process and still have no idea what is happening. Recommend you look elsewhere for your mortgage or refinance needs.
Absolute worst loan experience of my entire life. The underwriter and account rep lacked common sense, and didn't seem to be able to use common sense with explanations of assets. I get that Covid may have made things more complicated, but asking for 6 verification of employment requests (including a phone call to our employer) in a 2 week period just shows that they don't have their stuff together, and tends to be an unnecessary burden on your employer. Each request was asking for the same exact information, which didn't change. If you ever hear the word Spring Eq - run, as far and as fast as you can. On the other hand, if you enjoy submitting the same information over and over again, having your account rep not get back to your loan officer, because they decided to take a vacation and not have any backup during that time period, and initially promising a 2 week to close time period, which turned in to almost 3 months then they are the choice for you.
I recently used Spring IQ and actually came upon them through an online search where about 20 other lenders called me nonstop. I chose Spring IQ because they did not call me incessantly. My man contact sent 1 email and followed up with 1 phone call. The process was easier than I could have every imagined and Josh and the rest of the folks from Spring EQ were very efficient and professional.
A perfect 10... I'm so incredibly happy I chose Spring EQ. The process couldn't have been easier and I got an amount of money that far exceeded what I thought was possible. I would recommend this to 10 out of 10 friends and I'm a hard guy to please because I hold customer service standards to the fire. Spring EQ passed the test with flying colors. I recently refinanced both of my mortgages as well as a home equity loan with Spring EQ. I was able to reduce my rates dramatically. On my first home my rate on a 30/Yr Fixed went from 4.5 down to 3.249. My second home mortgage went from a rate of 4.375 to 3.375 on a 30/yr fixed. The Home equity dropped from a rate of 12 down to 6.1 which enabled me to drop the term from 20 years down to 10 while still reducing the payment (70k savings over the length of the loan). The 3 refinances saved me a total of over $700/Month which in these uncertain times is huge. I find that they have products available that other banks and mortgage companies do not offer, such as the home equity on the second home. I would recommend Spring EQ to someone looking for a first mortgage or a refinance. Their mortgage professionals and their customer advocates provide excellent customer service and they made sure I got the best rates available at the time and I would certainly work with them again.
