I sent Matt an email...and he read it...but failed to respond for week, and only after I sent Lisa an email saying I had not received a response from Matt. When we finally set a time to talk over the phone, Matt said he needed to reboot his computer and he would call me back in 5 minutes. One conversation...less than 4 minutes long...and I NEVER heard back from Matt. I'm giving Lund/Matt 2 stars instead of 1 because he at somewhat professional over the phone/not rude.

I just completed one of the best and pleasurable business transactions with the Lund Mortgage team last week. My home refinance took a little over a month to complete from start to finish. Wow, what an experience. With all the pandemic measures in place, I thought this would not be fun. Fortunately, I was absolutely wrong in my assessment. From start to finish, I felt as if I was their only client ( knowing they're busy as hell ). Great follow up on any questions or concerns and very knowledgeable on all aspects of my refinance. I began researching online for a local lender for my refinance who could meet the criteria of being honest, trustworthy with great communication skills. I submitted my application for a refinance on June 16th. I submitted ALL required paperwork, (license, statements, W2, taxes, paystubs). On August 29th I made my house payment and received a late payment fee because my refinance had not been completed. I was told that by September I would be closing. On September 8th I received an email from "Nicole requesting bank statements for JUNE/JULY. When I questioned why I was resending documents I had already submitted I was told, "I am so sorry I do not see this statement. I know Crystal was helping me out on a few emails to you but she looked and did not have this either." I listen to the radio and hear Lund Mortgage advertising their service. I want people to be aware that if they put time and effort into filling out an application and gathering paperwork Lund Mortgage does not value their customers enough to follow through. On September 14th, two days short of 90 days, I made my house payment again and told Lund Mortgage I no longer needed their services.

Heard about this company on a news radio station and they sounded reputable. Applied online and Ryan Jones was assigned to me. I submitted all the required documents to refinance my current mortgage. Ryan was real friendly and helpful at first but after he completed the my loan request, he called me and gave me options over the phone. I asked him to give me the loan estimate. He said when I get the competitors offer then he ll provide me with the estimate .
Then he sent an email saying that he might have good news that will be beneficial for both of us but never responded.
I spent the time to fill out the required documentation and he did not til this day provide me with a loan estimate.
I felt something was sketchy at first and I wouldn t give them my business.
Also filing a complaint with the Arizona state attorney general.

Used the Lund group twice on a personal purchase as well as a buyer representative. It was very underwhelming from the hype I heard about them from the reviews on Google to the ads on the radio. During the personal purchase it was very difficult to get a hold of ANYONE. I was working with Matt and he d never get back to me about any of my questions. He mentioned he was slammed with the refinances he was over. We closed a few days late as well. Granted, the appraisal came back low so there had to be negotiations. On the other hand the appraisal was ordered very late in the game.
For my friends purchase, the communication was much better. Ryan was able to get back to me as well the buyers, for the most part, at a decent response rate. We closed a day late, which was frustrating, but at the end of the day we closed.
Moral of the story, I wouldn t recommend this company to anyone that wants to purchase a new home. Just go directly to the lender (United Wholesale Mortgage, Quicken Loans, etc.) Not sure how their refinance process is, but I sure hope it s better than purchasing a home.

Here is the truth about Lund Mortgage: They are incredibly knowledgeable in what they do and you should trust them if you are buying a home (especially your first). Matt Oliver earned our business because during our first call, I asked Matt what is the difference between them and others, why should we pick Lund. Other companies sounded gimmicky and said things like we have the lowest rates and BEST customer service. He flat out told me Well, it is a mortgage and there are plenty of mortgage companies. If you want to shop and or deal with an app, then go ahead. I think customer service and trust goes a long way, so the only thing I can do is assure you is that I will do the best I can and we usually do a great job. That no BS answer told me everything I needed to know.
We went in there a little excited with many questions and Matt Oliver took his time to give us answers to all of them. When we were anxious, tried to speed up parts of the process, or were thinking of doing something they wouldn t recommend, Matt would candidly shoot us straight and give us solid advice. The only negative thing about the whole process was they were occasionally hard to get ahold of. By that, I mean response within 24 hours - max. Which is understandable given the rates and the amount of customers flooding in. By no means was any of our process delayed or done wrong because of Lund, just a little patience was required on our end.
We went into this process fully ready to shop for mortgages and blitz for the lowest rate. In the end, Lund was good to us and got us an awesome rate off the bat. So we ultimately stuck with them all the way through and didn t look elsewhere.
Towards the tail end, Lisa Lund assisted us in a few matters. She was very polite, responsive, and knowledgeable as well. I can see why she runs the place. We plan to use Lund again if we start investing in other properties or need to refinance. 10/10 would recommend!

They will not leave me alone or quit calling me. I have blocked the calls and they call from another number. How many times do I have to tell them to quit calling me!!!! I would not recommend this company to anyone and would never use them because of the continuous unsolicited phone calls.
Like dealing with car salesmen. Been dealing with these people for over a year, & always another story. Other mortgage companies approved quicker. Thought they would be better because of being local. I was wrong. They a very judgemental.
My whole refi process started June of 2020 with another company in the Phoenix area ( who shall remain nameless ). After six months of asking for the same information, pay stubs and tax information as well as Two appraisal, I told the other company that I was done with them, that was at the end of January 2022, then I heard the late night add for Lund Mortgage on the radio, I called them and spoke to Matt he got the ball rolling, then Crystal who finished off the refinance process, thank to the team at Lund I was not only able to bring down my house payment but complete two home projects, solar on my pool and a new roof and still have money left over. My advice, go to Lund if you want things done.

I called Lund because of their ads on KTAR. I was happy with the rate I got (because of MY excellent credit... I could have gotten that rate anywhere)... and very disappointed by the lack of communication with the Lund team, multiple mistakes on documents, annoyance by the loan officer when I would ask questions and higher than anticipated closing fees. They did not take the time to explain anything to me and had I not locked in at the lowest possible rate I would have left them... but it took them over a month to close my loan, causing even more fees to be incurred, even though I turned in all documentation on the day it was asked for.
I would never recommend Lund. They don t have time to give you all necessary information, they are annoyed by questions, and they don t deliver on deadlines.
We had the owner Mr. Lund do a refi for us around..2004 or 2005..he was attentive to our questions and got us out of a sticky stituation. Since the daughter took over for Mr. Lund..RIP..it is not the same..sorry to say..Mr. Lund did a better job.last September we began another refi with Lund...just didn't feel as if they were very attentive for what we were wanted to do..said that we did not have enough equity in our home to debt consolidate..gave us high hopes in the beginning..then the bottom dropped out..turns out we did..glad we went with another organization..we love direct lending..would do it again! !!
