If you are looking for a home equity loan (i.e. not a HELOC or 1st refinance) Spring EQ is the best option. We were only 7 years from paying off our 1st and we wanted to buy land for a retirement property. We wanted ONLY a home equity loan. We did not want to start over on a 10 year mortgage. Spring EQ was the only lender who listened to us rather than trying to talk us into a total refinance with $9K in closing costs. If you have a similar situation, skip the annoying calls from other lenders and go straight to Spring EQ.
