Avoid at all costs, will take your money then ignore you when they have not delivered their chair. have actually closed their customer service center down to deal with a backlog of complaints and order they have not fulfilled. but the sales team are still open so they can still take orders to add to the list of complaints and orders they can't fulfill but they still keep the money.

Non-existant customer service. Delivery 2 weeks overdue. I think these people take the order (and of course the money) and then place their order with an outside supplier, who then make the delivery.
My office chair came from a company called DAMS and is of good quality. However, had I searched harder I would have found the same chair for less and still with 'free' delivery. The cost of delivery appears to be built into the price of the chair.

I bought this chair for my wife who has a split spinal cord Spina Bifida. After a days work my wife says her back is not as painful and the chair is really comfortable. furniture at work are true to their word and delivered the goods by the said date. Chair was easy to assemble.

I ordered a chair for my son as his was well past its best, but was slightly disappointed that I wasn't able to check the choice with him until well after the deadline for the next day delivery, and it was the Thursday before the Bank holiday so he'd have to wait almost a week. Imagine my delight when the chair arrived the next day, not the one I ordered as they had possibly run out but one that seemed identical. My son is really pleased with his new chair. Really excellent service, very well done to Furniture At Work.

Awful customer service. Charge you for 24hr delivery but you only get 24 hr delivery if they have stock and you only find they don't have stock once you've paid. I was continually told for a week they were getting stock in, to then be told they wouldn't get my item in until the end of the month (over 3 weeks away)!! You wait for best part of 10 minutes to actually get through to someone at Customer Services. Rubbish service, would not use again.

I too wish I had read the reviews before ordering. We placed an order for a desk chair back in April, with normal delivery (5 working days). The delivery date came and went without any contact so I chased. I got an automated acknowledgment but this was never followed up with any contact about the order. Two further subsequent emails were ignored requesting an update or cancellation, could not get through by phone either.

Nearly two months had passed with no contact so I contacted the bank to request them to reverse the transaction based on the evidence I sent, which they did. At this point the chair was still on sale on their site, still advertised as in stock, and still providing a 5 working day delivery!

Out of the blue, in mid June, without warning and still no contact, a courier randomly turned up with the chair so I immediately rejected the delivery, they took it straight back as return to sender. Now a month later (mid July) I get an email from their "Debt Collection" department requesting that I pay for the chair. Absolutely ridiculous joke of a company!! Do not even be tempted to risk it by ordering with them!! Will be reporting to trading standards.

Sadly to say this is one of the worst companies i have ever dealt with and agree with other reviews online in saying I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE . I have given one star as that is the lowest , if minus was available I would have given that.
My reasons are as follows.
I ordered an office chair before 2pm on 25-10-19 with order by 2pm get next working day delivery .
My order stated delivery Monday
Monday comes , no advice from company if dispatched or not
Nothing no email no contact and chair does not arrive
Email them at the end of the day Cancelled the order under distance selling regulations as in my mind they had miss advertised and i would not be in next day anyway
Next Day DPD state they are delivering item , as i was out i thought give company benefit of doubt and re book delivery with DPD for Wednesday they confirm this.
Next day no communication from DPD at all and still no reply to original cancellation order from Furniture at work . No idea what is going on.
I never heard from DPD again and then sent several emails to Furniture at work saying not delivered waiting for refund under cancelled order.
They take days to reply and claim they were chasing it to confirm non delivery .
Eventually i gave them 72 hours to refund in my account or face county court plus costs . It was not in my account in 72 hours so i went to Visa and asked for charge back.
A few days later the money came back to my account in full , no apology from Furniture at Work , only email saying it was being repaid.
Not sure if it was Visa , threat or court or that they finally processed the refund but it is over now.
My thoughts don't deal with them unless you are prepared for total grief. They answer emails at a pace slower than a snail and someone i am not prepared to recommend even to my worst enemy.

Your company obviously hasn t got the stock to cope with demand yet you tirelessly gorge on on people s hopes of reasonable delivery times. You re advertising hand sanitisers and wipes that people are hoping to receive as a priority, you haven t got the stock yet you continue to pedal things on the internet people are desperate for but you don t have nor your suppliers. Have the decency to display on your website that delivery times at present are 8-12 weeks on sanitiser products. You reply to reviews on here saying your working hard to keep up with demand. Supply and demand one of the biggest demise of greed and mismanagement. You don t have the supplies for which there s a demand. Therefore you re misleading to the point of mocking the general public. I placed an order on the 27th of April. I was originally emailed to say there would be a delay on receiving the items and I could either upgrade at cost to alternatives or wait until the 15th of May for delivery of the items I'd ordered. On the 15th of May, there was no sign of my delivery and so I emailed customer services. Six days later I received a reply stating the new delivery date would be June the 5th....here we are 4 days later and still no sign of my delivery!

There is a lack of transparency with their customer service and I will be requesting a refund immediately. This business needs to be reported to the relevant trade authorities for its terrible terrible service.

I don't write reviews very often but this company is truly awful. I ordered a desk 6 weeks ago for next day delivery, it finally arrived 2 weeks later but was too late and no longer needed. It took me another week to schedule the desk being picked up. The desk was returned to the supplier OVER 2 WEEKS AGO now and I have been chasing my refund ever since. I was happy to accept some delay due to the ongoing pandemic but other businesses are delivering and processing refunds without any issues so this is just ridiculous. No reply via email, over an hour on the phone trying to get through to an actual human being but still no luck. Avoid at all costs, looking unlikely I'll ever get my money back.

Recently worked for them and was sacked because of my Epilepsy. Lucky for them I'm not going down the legal channels with them. Reason being is that they have no contingency in place for Brexit as they are just a middle-man company and won't last 12 months.
10 working days for a refund by the way and you will NOT be kept up to date with delivery changes and back dated dispatch dates.

Faulty goods delivered that week damaged due to incorrect packing as corner protectors showed clear differences in how they were assembled. The one bit assembled correctly led to corners of desks being crushed and split. Desks also had various scratches on them.

Tried to contact company - got through on phone initially and sent emails explaining with photos of what had been delivered, provided all details. Have heard nothing to date - have called phone daily and no-one picks up - I have tried at several times throughout the day, everyday since it was delivered - I have sent many emails with no response. Great service - good product. The only downside was delivery. Parcelforce driver delivered the product - asked me for my name and went off. The parcel was damaged but the product was OK inside. I checked the tracking and a signature had appeared saying it was successfully delivered. So this is no problem for me - but a real problem with Parcelforce and their so called proof of delivery. Forging my signature is probably a criminal offence. Not happy - and will look out for companies that use Parcelforce and try and avoid in future.

ordered a desk and chair on 1 May. the chair arrived within 5 working days. the 'next day' desk - still no sign of delivery. I chased in mid-may after the original expected delivery date of 12 May, a few days later they replied stating my desk was currently not available but offered an alternative that was nothing like the desk i ordered. I said i'd wait for the desk, as they were still advertising/taking orders for the same desk on their website! since then heard nothing, over a week ago sent a letter demanding delivery of item or refund as per my rights under the Consumer Rights Act. I have heard NOTHING. And yet, they are still advertising the desk on their site! So i have been without my desk that I desperately need, and no refund so I cannot purchase one from anywhere else. thanks a lot furniture@work.

I can't fault this company. All the way through the ordering process I have received nothing but first class service product and delivery. The ordering was simple I was quoted a realistic time for delivery to my address, I didn't have to register in order to pay for my goods (office desk), credit card transaction simple. The delivery was made well ahead of the quoted maximum and I was advised the day before delivery that my order would be made the following day, and I was able to request a post 10am delivery slot as well. Seriously to anyone reading this review I cant fault Furniture at Work. And I recommend them fully.

Purchased online. Two basic table style office desks ordered, with no confirmation to my email 19th August. Ring them on 26th August, and wait for 25 minutes on hold only to be told that they are having technical issues and to ring back in a half hour. Seriously.

Then finally get through to Jerold (nice enough chap), and though we've had no confirmation email, no correspondence regarding shipping, he tells me that it was shipped 2 days ago. News to me...

Wanted to cancel the order, but then informed there would be a restocking fee.... its a bit of a grey zone even with consideration of distance selling regulations.... really seriously, just steer clear of this company. The low prices just aren't worth the hassle.

Absolutely Awful. I ordered a desk on September 21st. They delivered the legs only with no top. I rang 3 times over a period of 2 weeks and was told it would be resolved but nothing happened. Eventually after 3 weeks they delivered the wrong top. It's now October 13th and I am stuck with a desk I can't use and will have to start phoning again. Each time I am hold for 20 minutes. I would never use them again

Communication and transparency is appalling, firm is clearly struggling but you wouldn't know that from the website. I ordered a chair which was showing as available. On the day it was due to be delivered I was emailed to say that they didn't have the colour in stock and would I be happy with black. I emailed back immediately to confirm that was fine. I was then emailed 4 days later to say they didn't have black, would I be happy with blue. I emailed back saying that my preference was green but if they didn't have that I don't mind about colour, I just want a chair. I then received an email two days later saying they don't have green, is blue alright. I have tried calling several times and can't get through. I have now emailed stating that I want to cancel the order because I would rather have more information about when my order was coming, but my suspicion is that this email won't be looked at until after the weekend. If they are struggling this much they should temporarily stop taking orders until they can do a proper stock check and catch up on their backlog.

Phoned the company and the girl told me that all orders were out for delivery and I would receive mine by the end of the month! Rubbish! Going through my bank to get my money back. I have not earnt since march and needed the wipes for PPE to reopen my salon when allowed. I simply can not afford to throw money down the drain. Avoid this company at all cost!!!

I should have read the Google reviews first before I placed an order with this horrible company. Placed an order for 5 x Clinell universal wipes on 14 May 2020 and had order confirmation email saying they won't be delivered until July! So requested to cancel on 18 May 2020 and cancellation was confirmed on 20 May 2020, stating refund would be returned back to my card in 7 to 10 working days. Today is 5th June and nothing has received back yet. Tried to contact several times via email and via website and all the messages were ignored! There was no way to call them either as phones were automatically cut off every time. Please refund my money back as promised otherwise I will report you to my credit card company. Now I understand why they do not offer PayPal payment on their website!!! Avoid at any cost!

Absolute disgrace ordered 28th April, 3 screens tried to get clarity on how and who would deliver them trough their contact page but totally ignored tel phone line never answered. I know we have a unbelievable situation at the present time, but it seems that this company just carries on selling from their website which they have no stock control enabled mechanism, but certainly well able to take your money. When i eventually got through to sales who said they are unable to deal with anything but selling but would email customer services on 19/05/20 about my complaint. i was surprised that i got an email on the 20/05/20 that my goods would be delivered on the 20/05/20, so at 1pm on that day i rang customer (shocked i got through) services to find out what time it would arrive only to be told Emma that she would contact the transport company to find out and get back to via email or phone by the end of the day(not much hope of delivery then), surprise nothing arrived by truck, email or phone. So on the 21/05/20 at 1pm again called and Emma answered again (shocked) only for her to tell me there was no stock and it will be July when i get my items or just get a refund, that was when i got told that they have no mechanisms in place for stock control on their website. So thanks to their inabilities and lack of customer service. As I run my own cafe and planning in opening up as a takeaway now i am having to race against time to find other options where had they been honest 2 weeks ago i could have had other plans in place. So i recommend any not to use this company

Has anyone thought to report this company to trading standards? I m currently awaiting a response to the third email I have sent to the customer services team. This company cannot continue to take people s money, not deliver the goods nor give refunds. I ll be fighting this all the way until I get my delivery or refund! We all need to make sure we report this company as it s clear they are a scam.

It was a bit of a painful process to be honest - ordered an office chair but told it wasn't in stock so offered an alternative then they didn't dispatch for next day delivery when they should have, so we then agreed a delivery day a few days off and they then delivered on the day when I told them I wasn't going to be in and the parcel was left out in the rain. And then it turns out they delivered what was allegedly not in stock. The quality of the product is great, but the ordering and delivery process was challenging. Not sure I'll come back for more.

Shop elsewhere, ordered on the 22nd of may with a delivery date of the 1st. Nothing, no calls no emails, made contact with them on a premium number only to be promised a call back. No call back. Email this morning blaming the manufacturer not themselves. Awaiting a refund. Before anyone says they are understaffed due to covid etc they state they are fully operational due to advanced tech on their website. A phone call or an email could have resolved this the instant they knew.

Ordered a desk and pedestal draw unit on 14.06.2020, this was followed by an e mail confirming estimated delivery on 26.06.2020.
I only read the reviews after ordering so was a little worried I would not receive the items.
On Thursday morning (25.06.2020) I received a phone call to arrange delivery for the following day Friday 26.06.2020, I confirmed this was OK, I then received follow up text and e mail. Later on Thursday evening, I received another text and e mail confirming a 2 hour slot for the following day, Friday.
I also received a phone call (on Friday morning) to confirm the driver (Panther) would be with me within the hour.
The service I received from Furniture@Work and from Panther (the delivery company) has been excellent, hence the 5 stars.
The items received are also good value for the price paid.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, they are an absolute joke of a company. Ordered a new office chair on 18th March with next day delivery, and NEARLY 7-WEEKS LATER IT STILL HAS NOT ARRIVED (#102062581)!!

Granted COVID-19 has disrupted some delivery networks, but not to this extent!

Customer service is non-existent: emails have not been responded to, and the one time I did manage to get through to the call centre I was told that the delivery was on its way (but that was 2-weeks ago).

I HAVE HAD TO GET MY BANK INVOLVED TO TRY AND RECLAIM THE PAYMENT!!!

30/05/2020 (Update)

No apology has been received, and the company has not made any attempt to issue a refund. Just now waiting for the refund to be approved by my bank.

Apparently it takes 7 working days for a refund. strange as they managed to take money from me immediately. Dreadful customer service, would never use them again

Ordered the Shallon desk just after lockdown began as we were working from home.. yep it took months to arrive but we were kept up to date with emails. Desk has now arrived and we are delighted with it. Great quality. Good communication would use firm again.

An order for Clinell products in March promised delivery in 35 days. Still waiting yet they are still advertising the same delivery timescale. A family member managed to get a phone conversation and was told all Clinell being diverted to NHS! They have now stopped answering the phone. Leave a message but they don't phone back. Email and they don't respond. All I want is a refund. Deliberately misselling. Is this a real company or a scam!!

Very disapointed with this company, the next day delivery was none exsistent, three phone calls an e-mail and 5days later still nothing has arrived even though customer service had told me it was out for delivery, I would'nt recommend this company and I won't be using them again.

After a few initial issues with my original order not being delivered, managed to get Craig ( one of the managers ) who, to be fair, sorted out the problem and arranged an alternate solution for me which was delivered next day.

Ordered a specific type of disinfectant wipes waited over 2 months to be sent something completely different. Have written numerous times no response . Have spent numerous times on the phone but no one responding. They are misleading and not delivering what they are advertising. Appalling service.

Absolutely terrible service. Never would recommend to use Furniture at work.
Ordered a chair in April. Originally when we placed the order we expected a next day delivery based on the details from the portal. When we contacted customer services team we have been told that the shipment will be delivered on the 27th, nothing arrived again. I contracted CS team on the 28th and again promises. CS team informed me that the stock already was shipped and should reach my via DPD on the 29th. When I contacted CS team on the 29th at the end of the day I have been advised that the chair will be delivered to Furniture at Work tomorrow (on the 30th) only, despatched and delivered with next 2-3 working days. So I decided to cancel the order on the 29th. The stock still was shipped to my address (even after cancellation). I refused the delivery on the 4th and again contacted CS team for refund.
I have been informed that the refund should reach the account within 5-10 working days today is 27th and we still do not have money on the account. Called to Customers services team and all I hear is "we will chase Finance team for you"

Ordered desks and chairs on 5 day delivery on 12th...

Ordered desks and chairs on 5 day delivery on 12th June. Received an email a number of days after placing the order saying the chairs were on back order and would be delivered by 2nd July (today). Emailed and tried calling several times with no response to try and get a different type of chair. Desks arrived a day later than promised and then today one chair has arrived but no sign of the other one. 25 minutes on hold to get through to an unapologetic miserable man to say he'd dispatch a replacement for 5 working days. Useless. Avoid.

I ordered tables and chairs for our village hall, firstly we recieved tables that were not as shown on their site then they finaly sent the chairs which are the wrong colour and without the arms they should have, I have contacted them 6 times now and still no reply. I am now at a loss as to how to get this resolved. I wish I had never bought anything from this company. We have bought from other companies in the past without these problems.

I ordered 2 chairs back in April for next day delivery, only to be told a week later that they were then out of stock. They offered be a substitute chair which I accepted, only for one chair to be delivered, instead of 2. After weeks of trying to get the 2nd chair delivered, I was then told this was out of sock and would have to wait until July for it to be delivered. I then asked for a refund, was told it would take 10 days for me to receive this over 3 weeks later, I ve not received a refund nor any responses to my follow up emails. AVOID!

SCAM COMPANY. Sold me a chair, a week after it was due to be delivered I finally got a response from them saying it would be 6 weeks. Asked for a refund and was told 4 weeks. Kept complaining and eventually got my money back after 3 weeks. More

Ordered chair 7 Apr, they contacted to say delivery would be late May or could have upgrade and delivery by 15 May. We took the upgrade and said it was for our son's birthday on 19 May. We e-mailed on Sat 16 May to say it had not arrived and rang on 18 May. Took a while to speak to someone and they said they would get back to us. Chair arrived mid morning 19 May and had been sent out on 16 May. Under the present situation I feel this is very good service but a little more communication would be perfect. The chair appears to be of good quality and fine value.

Absolutely shocking customer service, order not delivered when stated, now been told will be another two weeks minimum, have asked to cancel order as I only ordered when I was told the items were in stock and available for immediate delivery. Now they have my money I get no response to emails, website contact forms or telephone calls, Have spent hours this week alone on hold waiting to get to customer services. Will take legal action / trading standards if I don't get a response soon, if anybody wants to join in a joint case let me know.
DO NOT BUY for these guys.

Came across the company via google search engine. I was looking for a chair for my office. Too many to go through on the web site so I emailed them for advice. Got a swift and helpful response. I ended up choosing one of their suggestions. Chair arrived the next working day via DPD. All very efficient. Price I thought was good, initial thoughts on the chair are positive although it was a bit of a job to assemble the backrest. Time will tell on the quality but first impressions are good.

Absolutely shocking. Waited for over three months for urgent Medical wipes to have the wrong items delivered. No communication whatsoever. We have all made adjustments for the current situation but this is disgraceful. Promised they would collect but have not and have not refunded either. Never again.

Absolutely terrible company, DO NOT order from this company if you want office furniture, it wont turn up and you wont hear from them. Ordered an office chair, told 3-5 day delivery. 5 weeks later, still no chair, 5 hours across 5 calls to chase and lied to, told on 3 occasions it was being shipped and never arrived. We are reporting to Trading Standards as a dodgy business. If I could give less than 1 star rating I would. Abysmal company that treats customers like garbage!!!

Same as most people. The company took my money and emailed a week later to say goods were not in stock and would be a month later. That month has now passed with no goods and no response to four emails. I will be starting the chargeback process on Friday unless i get a response plus reporting them to the online fraud team. Companies house may get an email as well to look into the legitimacy of the business that appears to be acting fraudulently

As like the other reviews,I have been on the receiving end of bad customer service.
However, this is not a rant - but advice, for those like me and I shall be posting on here daily, giving the same advice until this 'company' adhere to their own Ts&Cs. But let me explain:
Same story - made a purchase, they took the money, confirmed a delivery date. Five days later - and this is important - they email, informing me that my item is out of stock and I won't receive it for another month. So, I email back, informing them I'd like to cancel my order. On the same day, I used their contact form on their website to cancel my order too. All within five days.
On their own Terms & Conditions it states under Returns, Refunds & Cancellations:

4. You have 5 days to request goods to be cancelled (from date of order) or returned (from date of receipt).

You can read all their Terms & Conditions on their website.

So, on top of everything else, they don't even adhere to their own Terms & Conditions.
However, you can receive a refund a different way, if they don't want to acknowledge. You can use what's called a 'Chargeback Scheme' through your bank (if you paid by debit card) and of course, with credit cards, there is a similar scheme. It's somewhat lengthy and could take the best part of a month, however at least you'll get your money back.
EDIT: You can also find them on Companies House - remember to use the @ symbol when entering their company name. There you'll find information you won't find on their website, should you need to take any further action.
