Ordered a desk for delivery on 14th August. 21st August and there is no sign of the desk. Unfortunately the staff have been unable to provide an update, they can't tell me where it is or when it will arrive.
Hate to leave a bad review given the current state of the world but the customer service was atrocious. Empty promises of callbacks and updates. Let's see if the refund actually comes through as promised....

Unbelievably bad service. After plcing an order, I have been asked for a proof of delivery address - a copy of a lease, utility bill, etc. After providing such, which is unprecedented, I have been asked for a proof of a billing address! Never ever any supplier has asked me for "extra paperwork". Got frustrated and decided to cancel the order, however a refund has not been offered: I was told that I have to claim it through my bank, since they have not received any payment, even though the payment was clerly credited off my bank account. I have not come across such supplier, will never use them again. It is like a spam company.

I would highly recommend Furniture at work, they are very nice and polite and very helpful. I had I issue which they sorted out straight away without delay, and without any inconvenience to me. they are very good in very way. I would defiantly buy from them again.

I bought an office chair from them at the beginning of May but after a long delay and no communication from customer services I cancelled my order.
I was promised a refund several times but still haven't received it so I am now taking them to the small claims court to recover the money.
I would advise anyone to avoid buying from Furniture@work.

Same as what everyone else is saying. Ordered a chair, selected next-day delivery. Weeks later, still no chair. I have called and emailed them multiple times, spoken to them twice already. Nothing. I understand that there's a pandemic, but that's no grounds for misleading your customers, lying etc.

I can't believe I forgot to check out reviews before purchasing from this company. I won't make this mistake again.

Please, if you're reading this, do yourself a favour: DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Delay after delay, chairs have yet to arrive. Three delivery dates and no arrival. No updates. Wish that I, too, had read the reviews, they take your money fast enough and you can get through to sales but customer services are a joke it rings and rings and rings. Was promised a ring back today with confirmed delivery- no such luck. If they do not arrive tomorrow I am going to my card provider to get my money back. Bought 06.06.2020 and still no sign. Think before you use this company and their supply chain issues.

They have supplied me with office furniture for years. Customer service has seen a massive improvement over the last 16 months with any issues now being sorted out quickly (I used to only stop with them due to price) but now all that's sorted and much better. Delivery times vary depending on what you order, normally days but if I order bulk or unusual items it can take much longer but that's unusual. Sales team are always helpful and friendly, all in all a good bunch who won't rip you off!!

Order placed 15th May, expected delivery due to covid was 6th July, understandable and I excepted this. STILL NO ORDER ARRIVED!! Despite several calls, the last reassuring me it was out for delivery on Monday 20th July. Its now the 22nd July and STILL NO ORDER! I have sent email after email and not one reply to any of them. Disgraceful service. I have tried all day yesterday to call and again so far this morning, being on hold for an hour at a time. Funny how now all your phone lines don't get picked up. I used the press 1 service for a ring back....guess what....NO RING BACK!
I would like an immediate full refund, your company is a joke. I only wish I had read the reviews on your company before ordering.

Really should of looked here before buying. SAVE YOURSELF and DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS. I have been waiting months for my purchase, with no contact or update at all. You cant even call them to get an update as their number doesnt work, ring it and try going to option 2 and nothing .... never respond to emails or through the contact form either.

Save yourself and do not buy here. Google reviews should allow you to give people 0 stars as that is what they deserve.

A WARNING!!!
I pulled this outfit from the Google recommended shopping sites - I would recommend Google to review their status.

My order was more than 2 weeks overdue - even allowing for their estimated Covid delay: there has been no follow up mail explaining why from them... Very difficult to get through on either sales or customer service phone lines... phone just rings and rings....

There is no acknowledgment of emails sent in query from their 'contact us' page... no way of knowing if you are in their system... they should get their web designer onto that... it's fixable - otherwise maybe use your email "request receipt on delivery" button

I eventually got through by ringing from 08h30 and spoke to a calm, friendly young guy ( he's probably the staff at the moment) who said my item was listed as out for delivery next day with DPD - and it duly arrived...
I'm happy with it - there were a couple of moments during the self assembly when I was dreading having to return it...
But I don't plan to be back...

They are a clearing house/distributor and at the end of a whole heap of manufacturer Covid delays, I appreciate it's difficult times, but Customer liaison is paramount and if you want to hang on to your customers, keep us in the loop.
I now see that almost all their reviews are negative...

The lesson is READ CUSTOMER REVIEWS.

Placed an order for a desk and chair on the 1st April. Subsequently needed to cancel the desk, but still wanted the chair. Desk was canceled OK and refund promised within 10 working days, fair enough. Then receive an email saying chair not in stock, despite website saying it was, and would I like an alternative product. I replied to say I didn't want an alternative product and to please cancel order and refund. Despite this, a couple of days later a chair (not the one I ordered) was delivered and it is still sat in my hallway now unopened. I have been chasing for my refund fore the last two weeks. Emails either go unanswered or you eventually get a vague response not answering your question after 3-5 days. It is very difficult to actually speak to somebody on the phone as you are left in a queue for 15 minutes which then goes to a voicemail. Voicemails are then not responded too. If I have not received a satisfactory response from them by close of business today I will start the charge back process with my bank tomorrow. How they can get such simple things wrong is beyond me. Avoid at all costs.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I would have given no stars if it was possible. NEVER answer emails, if you phone them after waiting 30 minutes you usually get an answerphone asking you to leave a message, which is NEVER answered, if you're very lucky you get an answer, tell them the problem and then - nothing. The following is my story -
29/5/2020 Desk ordered, Delivered 16/6/20 - with the wrong top. After 2 days of trying to contact them I finally got through on the phone. I told them to arrange to have the desk collected and my money refunded as I didn't want to wait for a replacement. I was told someone would contact me to arrange collection, 5 days later I STILL havn't had that call.

8/6/2020 Computer desk and small cupboard ordered, as I had problems with the first order I cancelled this order and was told my money would be refunded - that HASN'T happened. Today I've tried once again to contact them and now even the PHONE LINE ISN'T WORKING. I have now contacted my bank in an effort to get my money back. BUYER BEWARE

Placed an order for reception furniture early in February 2020. Was informed that sofas were made to order and there would be a 6 weeks lead time .
Sofas have not arrived to this day. Four free standing chairs arrived in March of which two were defective - poor quality control( not broken due to transportation). I had emailed with photos as requested and promised this will be checked. Since then I have emailed and tried to call this company several times. Usual automated email response - they aim for delayed orders to be with you in 4-5 days. There is absolutely no point calling as you are just kept on hold. Hopeless! Will be looking to get my money back.... wish me luck!

Now July 20 ...... still haven t received all furniture.

Received a damaged item so contacted them straight away on 14th April, I contact them every week and still have not had a response about my complaint. Extremely poor customer service, avoid at all costs. Also their products aren t that great!

You could not deal with a bigger bunch of cowboy's. Be warned.

They are not the manufacturer so they will take your money and then attempt to source the stock after. They are still advertising next day delivery on their site, it s a disgrace. Avoid!!

I am now going to take legal action as they have essentially stolen my money for a chair that I ordered on next day delivery on 13th May 2020. The chair has never been delivered and after endless emails, I received one from them today to say it will be delivered on or around the 25th June. I can guarantee you this chair will never be delivered. I demanded a refund and they have completely ignored it. The number on their website also doesn't work. Basically it's fraud , they're stealing peoples money and it's disgusting.

Ordered and paid for an item with next day deliver. 4 days later was emailed and told it was out of stock and offered an unsuitable alternative item. Another week has passed with no response to any of the three very reasonable follow-up emails I sent. Claiming a refund on my card transaction through the bank, not entirely convinced these guys are actually still trading - I'll be contacting trading standards.

Very poor - website taking orders and promising delivery, but delivery never comes. No response to e-mails and should you get lucky enough to ever speak to a telephone agent, they cannot update you, promise to e-mail back and then you hear nothing. Do not buy from these people.
Timeline of events:
Ordered 21 April 2021 - supposedly express 2 day delivery
23 April received e-mail that the chair was out of stock but they would upgrade the chair to a better model delivered in 2 working days
24 April received email from Parcelforce with order tracking details - looking hopeful!
These tracking details continually showed the parcel as "yet to be collected by Parcelforce"
1st May - telephoned to chase delivery, was promised it woudl be investigated and they would e-mail back. No e-mail was ever received.
6th May - telephoned again to chase up.
7th May - received another e-mail from Parcelforce with another tracking number saying chair was being despatched on a 24 Express service
11th May - A chair was delivered, but it was not what I ordered! I ordered a chair with adjustable arms, and they sent a chair without arms!
11th May - Phoned again to say that the delivery was incorrect and was promised they would look into it and respond. Never received any response.
14th May - used the contact us section on their website to inform them that I was rejecting the chair as it was not what I ordered and that they needed to arrange for collection and return of the chair.
Guess what -have heard nothing at all.

Will try phoning again, although you can be on hold for 30 minutes or more before speaking to a person.

Phone calls and emails are left unanswered , the seles department works though to grab Moe money from people.

Ordered a desk at the end of May. Was told delivery mid-June.
NO replies to emails for 3 weeks.
NO updates on emails at all.
PREMIUM RATE number to call them.
NO answer (on hold for 40 mins+) to speak to somebody.
CLOSED mostly during lockdown.
CALLED day before delivery for confirmation it's coming, NO word.
CALLED AGAIN & it turns out there's no legs for the desk for another 5 weeks....

NO THANKS. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Hopefully I get my refund quickly!!

Ordered a desk back in June delivery was around 16th July and it kept getting pushed back. so rang up and they said they don't have it in stock so we can order a different one or cancel, so cancelled it and STILL awaiting a refund. spoke to accounts manager and she said she would sort it out and every sales team i speak to say different things refund takes 3-5 working days 5-7 working days. soon as a credit note it raised we will get a refund. Now they are checking with transport company to cancel the delivery (They don't have it in stock so whats the issue?) also awaiting confirmation from the Warehouse team (not in stock still whats the issue??). I used this company in the past NEVER again would i recommend them or use them personally myself.

After cancelling the desk i placed an order and received that in less then a week perfect Desk no issues Delivery driver was lovely brought upstairs for me as well.

They only got 1 star as i cant put any less. Also to note i'm waiting another call from another manager this time the Sales manager And awaiting a credit note confirmation...

So, I ordered a desk and office chair from their Next Day items last Thursday. The chair was delivered as expected on the Friday separate to the desk. When I called to check who was delivering the desk I was told that it was actually out of stock.... This had not been reflected on the website and they were more than happy to let me place the order and take my money. I was advised that delivery was likely to be Monday, but told that I would be called back by close of business to confirm this. Also I was told that I would not be charged the next day price and would be refunded the difference. That phone call never happened and neither has the refund yet. So I emailed in a complaint; oh and no desk on Monday.

I eventually got a call from the company that stocks the desks (yeh furniture at work don t actually appear to stoke anything, just order through wholesalers for you) and was told it would be delivered today, Wednesday.

This was sent via DX Freight delivery service from Crewe. Tracking said all day it was out for delivery but it hasn t showed up.... Oh and I ve still received no reply or acknowledgement of my email complaint from Furniture at Work.

Overall, appalling service from a company that I certainly won t use again. I would urge you to avoid this company and spend your hard earned cash elsewhere!

I awarded 2 stars because at least the chair turned up on time!

Excellent product ordered 25th april & it arrived today 30th - I was told on the email that expected delivery date was 28th & I emailed to find out when it was coming but wasnt given a date - under the current circumstances that we are in I feel the delay would be due to high demand- I agree that some sort of tracking would be helpful but overall I cannot fault the company or the quality of the product - would recommended

This company is the worst company i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with! Ordered a new office chair on the 31st July, it was eventually delivered 24 days later. As with all the other reviews here, the customer service department is non existent, but the sales phone line is lightning fast... make of that what you will.

When i did eventually manage to get through after an hour on hold i was fed the same line that my order would be "chased up with the logistics company" and emailed a delivery date, this never happened on the 4 occasions i rang. No apology, no updates (as they claim they will in the event of a delay in the FAQ section).

It since transpires that the item i ordered, that was showing as in stock at the time, wasn't in stock and took 2 weeks to arrive in the country. Totally misleading, would have used one of the other reputable furniture outlets had i known.

I appreciate that COVID is a huge factor in lead times for many businesses that are going through difficult times at the minute, but the simple answer 9 times out of 10 is to COMMUNICATE with your customers, and be honest about where their purchases are. unfortunately this company seem unable / unwilling to just be honest!

I called when my order was still outstanding on 18 days to be told the item was out of stock and there was no due date available. I was told to expect a call back within 48hrs that didn't happen. I called again on 21 days to be told my item was due in to stock at Furniture at works warehouse 28 days after my order was placed. Still no delivery date. Please also note that Furniture at works trading terms state that you can not cancel an order after 5 days. BUYER BEWARE!

Grated, it did take an age for my items to be delivered. But, all things considered the company kept me informed, processed a refund quickly once they told me they couldn't source the desk after all, and the chair that came is actually pretty good. Another business hit by the pandemic. Needed to be more honest about delivery times, but they certainly haven't shafted me for money or anything.

Absolute joke, terrible service and very bad experience.
Do not order from this company, they are really bad. They will agree delivery on a day that doesn't happen, they don't get back to you and don't care about their customers. I was promised delivery on a certain day, called in the morning and was told it's definitely on the way and called again in the afternoon to be told the same but no order arrived? They promised to get back to me but I had to chase them. When discussing my issue they didn't care. Really disappointing.

I have used this guys for a number of years and their price and service had, up until now, always been great.

I appreciate Covid has had a massive impact on most people and businesses but since the onset of Covid Furniture at Work have proved to be difficult to contact, they have failed to keep to promised timescales both on the delivery of products and responding to e-mails and calls, they have truly been absolutely appalling, and being in a service industry myself I try to see the best and forgive those little mistakes that we all make.

I have given them a number of opportunities to put things right, I even suggested what would resolve the issue and time and time again they have done nothing - hence why I am having a 'whinge' on Google, as they need to know how far they have fallen in the Customer Service stakes.

I will not use again going forward.

Every business on the planet got affected by the pandemic and the lockdown but you're handling it so poorly, it's painful.
I ordered a desk middle of June, like probably the rest of the planet, I get that.
Been told to wait until the 7th of July for delivery. Nothing wrong with that, delivery times were poor on every furniture website.
It never arrived.
I received a further email stating that my desk will now be received on the 27th of July or around. I guess okay?
Today I received a further email that you've cancelled my order due to manufacturing problems. Surely you should've known this by now, right?
You do realise that leading people on
like this is just unprofessional, rude and unhelpful, especially now when people rely so much on retailers to deliver their orders or let them know for sure from the start of something is out of stock.

Used this company twice successfully and have put in a third order just now. Prices are competitive, items are top-notch quality wise and i have experienced good communication on both occasions. Staff were friendly and helpful on the phone. Other companies i have had experience with seemed badly organised andoffered misleading information on stock availability so i have found furniture-at-work quite refreshing. Will use again.

This company is absolute garbage. Ordered a chair with NEXT day delivery promise, which was delivered 6 days later. Not happy but given current situation I let that go. Assembled the chair only to find out its NOT what I ordered. Straight away called them which takes a while... I was then requested to send proof of order and pictures of the chair as if I was telling a lie that I have received a wrong chair. I then get asked if I had an email or a call to say that they didn't have the chair I ordered, would I be happy to have a different one? NO I DID NOT. So I request for return and refund for the chair. I was asked to pack the chair as best I can to be picked up in 5 working days for which I will receive an email confirmation shortly. 3 days later no email so I send an email requesting for an update. Another 4 days later no email so I give another call, after 25 mins on the phone I get a rude, don't care Friday afternoon mood colleague answering the call only to be told that the chair has to be packed "EXACTLY" how I received it for pick up in next 5 working days for an "INSPECTION"??? I quote this colleagues words, "it HAS to be packed how you opened it and resalable for refund, once the chair is received back it WILL be inspected". I don't care how thorough you inspect this chair when you get it back to your warehouse, it's not what I ordered and I want my money back. Simply because this company has 0% customer care/focus all they want is your money.

Stay away from this scamming company. I hope I get this chair picked up and refund the money so I can order another chair from a better company.

Do not order with this company, I ve been waiting over a month for a desk. I also tried to call them but got cut off after 30 mins waiting because I ran out of credit. I also tried to email them twice had no response. I had to raise this under the consumer 75 credit act to get my money back. Appalling service!!! They would give this zero stars, but google wouldn t let me. Please don t order with them, you will be robbed blind!

Waiting on the phone for someone to answer several times for more than 10 minutes each time. Possibly the worst company I've ever had dealings with in the UK. Are they even real? Or a scam?

Ordered a desk, was told they were experiencing supply chain issues and so, patiently, waited two months... The company then said they were refunding my order. No real apology, they just clearly didn t want the hassle anymore.

Save your time and money and don t bother ordering from this company.

Where is my order? I ordered on 3 June - 'express delivery' expected 10th June, its now 22nd June, no response to my emails, no answer to any repeated phone calls at premium rate. I'll be calling Trading Standards. Terrible.

I've done the mistake of ordering a desk because of lockdown. It was meant to arrive on the 8th of June, then on the 15th of June and then on and around the 25th of June.

On the 15th, I've sent an email asking for a refund since it was being still delayed, but as of today 25th June (10 days) still no reply.

I've just tried contacting their customer service on the phone, but as many have said, they don't pick up and get you to record a message, I doubt they will call me back.

I'm gonna try getting my bank to tamper a refund!

At the start I assume this was due to the pandemic but other companies seem to be able to delver fine. Then I though, this must be one off and now I see in these reviews that there are many other customers with similar stories. This is so frustrating! I fear this will leave me out of pocket. I've emailed their Customer Resolution Team one last time but if I don't get an answer today, I''ll have not choice but to investigate how to report this matter to whatever consumer protection body. I don't even know where to start as I've never been in such situation where a company take my money and then goes completely silent!

Great service, good prices but what made me buy was the detailed information - when buying a chair for long use, it is necessary to know whether it is rated for 8 hours or not. Other sites don't tell you. VERY quick delivery FREE too !!

Can't believe I didn't read these reviews before hand. Ordered a desk, said next day. No communication, nothing. Have phoned and emailed with no response.

Update. Desk arrives today and is actually great for the price. No issues. Maybe just a little communication would reassure people!

TOTAL SCAM - I'm a bit embarrassed that this has happened to me but I feel compelled to write this review. I'm in the same boat as many people in these reviews. They've had my money for over a month now and haven't received my order even though the website said it was in stock and would be delivered in 4-5 working days. They are not responding to my email and I can't get through on their phone line (that you have to pay to call). Yet their website says they're "fully operational" during the Covid Crisis.

I'm not one for negative reviews where I can help it, but it is unavoidable in this instance. I work for a company who have used Furniture at Work for a while and they had no problems as such. However, they ordered 2 desks in February 2020, which were delivered months later, and then they come faulty and with parts missing. Some chairs that have been delivered also have scags in the arms and to be honest the quality is not the best!

Colleagues of mine and myself when I started at the company have been back and forth with this issue, sending photos, calling and being on hold for way longer than is acceptable. In AUGUST they said that they would be sending us some new legs for it, it is now October and we still haven't received them and they were not due to be delivered. So I ordered another set of desks in September, and these have a delivery date of end of November and it is shocking.

Customer service has been mixed but have been met with a rude member of staff. We moved offices and instead of updating the already existing account with our new address we were made to make a new account, which is fine but the lady who was dealing with me was so rude and didn't listen to what I was trying to say.

Safe to say we have cancelled the current orders and have ordered some furniture from a different company who within the price will come and measure the area to ensure you get the right fit, they deliver within a week and depending on stock and when you order 48 hours, they assemble and take the rubbish as well all for the same sort of price as Furniture at Work.

All in all we are not happy with this company and we will NOT be using again.

Their delivery partners & customer support system ...

Their delivery partners & customer support system is pathetic. If the product is damaged during delivery you will be stuck with it for weeks before any actions is taken from them. They are citing Covid-19 & increased demand for bad customer service.

Customer care wait time is around 30 mins & most of time the call is just disconnected after automated message & they are not very prompt in response via mail.

They must be avoided at all costs, if want peaceful purchase.

Awful company. Ordered furniture for new office and chair was delivered with damage lever and promised the replacement parts by Friday. No shipments arrived and no one called to update the delivery time. Just send another email to get an update and it is very stress dealing with customer service.

I spent 20 minutes on hold to this company this morning and I am currently on hold again now, without getting any response from them. I have sent several emails regarding two orders placed over 3 weeks ago, but still can't get a reply regarding delivery dates. I appreciate that there is likely to be a delay because of the current situation, but it is so frustrating not being able to get any feedback from them. I definitely will not be using this company again.
