If I could give them 0 stars I would. They only correspond via email, there is no number to call to talk to an actual person when trying to make an initial claim and they are the only warranty group I've ever heard of that has the gall to deny a claim saying that while the intake manifold is covered the "intake manifold lower" part is not covered because the part is not "specifically covered in our warranty." The wonderfully highlighted diagram they sent me literally only has the upper shell of the intake manifold highlighted while the rest of the inner workings of the intake system are not. The response I received, via regular mail after 30 days from postmark, was condescending at best and pretty much outright rude. If I could return the car I would based purely on this experience. As the other review says, they care only about their bottom line and not covering your vehicle.

This is the absolute worst warranty company I have ever dealt with. I have been without my car for 9 days now waiting for an approval that was supposedly going to take 24-48 hours. Every time I speak to them they say that they are sending it to the management team and I will have an answer back in 24 hours. This has now happened 5 times and all they can tell me is that they will reimburse me for a rental for up to five days. So I guess the other 4+ days gets to come out of my pocket. Do not waste your time or money on this place.

Bought a 2012 Odyssey from Honda of Dalton and they offered this extended warranty so we took it and paid $800 extra for it. 2 months later we start having issues so we took it to the Honda shop and have been waiting for going on 3 days now just for them to "review" and approve the work to be done. What is there to approve or review for this long? WE PAID FOR THE WARRANTY THATS SUPPOSED TO COVER THIS ISSUE. Not to mention I was stranded at work because they still haven't approved it and Honda was ready to get started right away but couldn't. Also my fiance and our 6 kids stuck at home for 3 days. DO NOT GET A WARRANTY WITH THIS 2 BIT P.O.S. COMPANY!!!

Update: This company has re-evaluated my initial claim. They have agreed to replace the carpet. A lot of telephone calls and time invested by CarMax (Clearwater, FL). Big shoutout to Tyler in Service (and his supervisor) for going the extra mile for it's customers. Could not have received satisfaction without their help & support. My family thanks them!!!

Initial Review: Mexican claim department has supervisors (#989111 'Eugene') that lie to deny covered failure claims. My vehicle was polluted with antifreeze after a covered system failure (heater). We were authorized by company to FIRST have vehicle cleaned for $300 which did not remove this hazardous & flammable chemical. Because this is a petroleum based chemical, it will never dry completely and will result in mold growth causing a health hazard to my family including children and pets. In addition, this is an odorless, colorless chemical and the company is denying the claim BASED UPON NO ODOR OR STAIN (and at first tried to tell us the event never took place)! Even though the company paid for the initial carpet cleaning and said they would replace if cleaning failed. The product saturated the entire carpet surface. All we asked is for front seat carpet replacement which we were told over a recorded line they would do if cleaning was not effective. Cleaning was not effective and now our vehicle is a health & safety hazard. All I want is a safe car for my family as this is a covered repair under a covered system failure and I paid for service that I expect to receive.
Shame on this warranty company. I would never recommend them as honorable.

This is a horrible company. I have had my truck in for repairs on multiple occasions. The first was due to a cracked head problem. Southwest motors sold me a truck with a cracked head and the dealership along with First Extended told me that it was my fault that the truck was sold with a cracked head. After 3 months of arguing with them to get it fixed, they approved a USED engine from a junkyard and out of a completely different vehicle than what I have. I offered to pay the difference and they were not having any part of it. Come to find out the engine that they sent me had a cracked valve cover. Now here we are, my truck back in the shop, arguing with this terrible company trying to get my truck fixed. It has been in the shop 6 days this time around and still waiting to hear back. When they finally provide me with an update I'm told that its not getting approved until the valve cover is off and they can send someone back out to inspect it AGAIN after someone has already been out and failed to turn in the required paperwork until the next day!! Seems to me like these people are just lazy, don't know how to do their jobs, or just don't care about their customers. They did approve a rental for 5 days but now here we are on the 6th day still waiting on approval to get my truck fixed and the rental is due tomorrow! They say the rental is only for 5 days and there is nothing they can do about this. How the hell am I supposed to get back in forth to work if they will not provide me with a rental or approve the work to my truck in a timely fashion. I am now worried about losing my job if I don't have a way to get back and forth to work. This would be the third time that my truck has been in the shop for problems that it had when they sold it to me for a grand total of 4 months. This is by far the worst customer service that I have ever had and I will never use this company for warranty purposes again! This is quite the scam that they have running here, take your $2000 only to tell you that they aren't going to honor their service contracts or to leave you without a vehicle after your rental period of 5 days is over. I used to work as a tech and I know damn well it doesn't take over a week to get approval and fix a water pump and valve cover gasket. If I could leave this crappy company a negative rating I would just to show how damn pissed I am!! Please, Please for the love of God never buy a vehicle from Southwest Motors in Pueblo, Colorado or buy the extended warranty from First Extended!! It might end up being a bigger headache than its worth. I hear Bob Penkhus VW has some great quality cars and their service department is actually willing to help you out.

Received a phone that got "disconnected" after "Hello, my name is click". As I write this review I have been waiting for 1 hour and 23 minutes trying to talk with a representative.

If you read this before using this company, do whatever you can to avoid them. My car has been in the shop for 4 weeks as of today, and not a single wrench has been turned to work on it due to just how terrible this company is. They operate on an inbound call line only which is one of the most absurd things I ve ever been told. I gave them the number of who they needed to call to get my approval moving forward, and they couldn t do it due to this ludicrous policy. In the future, I will likely just pay cash rather than going through my extended warranty with them because that is just how terrible they are. Which I m getting the sense is exactly what they want people to do. If I could rate them zero stars, I would.

Update: After EIGHT WEEKS of back and forth with the repair shop, work was finally able to be done on my car. However, I'm being told by my service provider that they have now changed the costs of labor from what they originally approved for so the repair shop hasn't even been paid. My service provider has told me it is one of the worst companies he has ever dealt with, and that's literally all he does every day. Also, I emailed the address that is given in the reply to this review. They told me they would have someone follow up with me to make sure I was taken care of. They didn't. Which was not a surprise to me, but don't let the apparent kindness of the response below fool you; they don't care. I will stress again, please avoid doing business with this company at all costs.

For me one of the repair shops was a auto detailing shop the other one once I told them I had a warranty through this company push my repair out 2 weeks. So I had to take my car to another shop and pay out of pocket for a repair that should have been covered or go without a car for 2 weeks.

Spoke with rep who provided instruction for dealership on how to resolve issue to get a claim paid but when claim was denied they indicated the original call never happened (yet it shows on my phone and there were people with me who listened to the call). My vehicle has been sitting in a service department for 14 days still awaiting so called approval. All items are covered by this extended warranty
(That i have paid for) and all they have to do is give the go ahead but here we sit without a vehicle for 2 weeks. After numerous phone calls being made by both myself and our head sevice tech all we have gotten is the run around. I have asked to speak to a manager on more than one occasion only to be hung up on, sent to non existent mailboxes or voicemail where no one will return a phone call. I want what is right here and they seem to not be bothered by their own unprofessionalism. I purchased an extended warranty with this company. I had to jump through hoops to get them to pay anything. They are very difficult to work with. My mechanic called to submit the claim but they would not authorize rental car payment until the mechanic called back and told them how many days I would need the car. The policy is that they pay for five days rental car. They ended up only authorizing two days rental car and when I turned the car in, I had to call back and hassle with getting another day authorization. I was at Enterprise an extra 30 minutes at least just to take care of the extra day's authorization. They are very unprofessional and difficult to deal with.

I bought a 2012 Buick Enclave in 2017. Had a few claims on repairs & had no problem getting them paid. I follow the rules though. I always brought my car to the selling dealer, & did all the recommend routine maintenance. I recently traded in the Enclave for a 2019 Kia Sorento. I bought the same extended warranty on the new car to extend the bumper to bumper coverage out to 10 years/125,000 miles. I am now waiting for my refund on the unused portion from the Enclave warranty since they are pro-rated.

Wish I had done the research on this "warranty" company before I agreed to this nightmare. I have been having the exact same issues as all the other reviews, ridiculous wait times on hold, told repairs are approved then the shop calls and they are told its not approved. Promised a rental for 5 days, then told I was denied, called back and given a corporate Enterprise contract number that was invalid due to unpaid contracts, called back and told now my rental is reimbursement only at $35 dollars a day and I have to work that out at the impossible rate. Even more concerning is the dealership doing the repairs tells me First Extended may approve the repair, but typically takes weeks to make payment and my truck is held hostage until payment is made. All I want is for you to do the job I pay you for, JUST DO YOUR JOB! Stop trying to run out the clock on my patience and hope I'll go away!

Worst place to ever have any warranty through, they will not help you at all will not return calls, put you on hold constantly for extended periods of time. Do everything they can to avoid fixing your vehicle including lieing to you and the service department your vehicle is at. They have 1300 complaints this year alone to the BBB. The BBB won't even back them. Had to have a general manager who has 26 contracts by them call and get my warr covered and there still fighting it. Best thing you can do if you do have them is cancell as soon as you can. I've been stranded 600 miles from home for a week now waiting to get my truck repaired which only takes 3hrs of labor.

Absolutely horrific customer service. My family was on vacation at the beach when the air conditioner compressor went out on my truck. Took it straight to the local Chevy dealership for service. The dealership had the needed parts in stock and were confident they would have it fixed that same day. Instead, the warranty company dragged their feet for 48 hours while my claim was "under review" because my vehicle was "being serviced at a dealership other than the one it was purchased from." I asked them if they realized that people sometimes do travel more than a few miles away from their house, and the guy just told me to go get a rental car if I needed something to drive. I told him I would gladly do so if his company agreed to pay for the rental, which he quickly informed me that rentals are not a covered service. It took a total of 4 phone calls from me and another 3 from the dealership to ever get these people to do anything. I did not get my truck back until the evening before we had to leave to come home. This company is the worst! Do no waste your time or money on anything they have to offer!

I was sold a 5 year extended warranty that ended up only being good for 3 years ( the small print from time of inception) That was not explained and not what I was sold. The company is extremely shady and doesnt cover your vehicle when needed, theres always some loop hole. Stay away from this warranty company and buy an extended warranty directly from a big name dealership, even if the car wasnt purchased through them it is still the best option!

Carmax uses The Warranty Group for their warranty claims and processes. TWG is one of the worst warranty agencies I've had to deal with and are the personification of "the man", "corporate America", and "crooks" which diminishes Carmax's credibility. Purchase if you have to from whomever is using TWG, most try to make it work. But after your purchase, you'll be on your own or up for a fight if you want to leverage the warranty or coverage they say you have. Best of luck!

This company is absolutely garbage and their policies reflect management that doesnt care about customer service on the back side of the deal once they have your money. They work slower than the u.s. government when processing a claim. I'm stranded without a vehicle for 5 days because of their approval process policies. Put a notice in on Friday so work could get started and get my vehicle back tuesday, and being told it wont even make it to the desk of the person that can make the decision to approve the work until tuesday being a holiday weekend. Thus the work wont start until Tuesday and I am without a vehicle until Thursday or Friday next week.

First the good news. In losing a half day of work to make the phone calls Jasmine and Carol were overly helpful and really identified with my plight. They were very professional and thorough. I commend them.

Now the bad news. First Extended Service Corporation and newer corporate names Assurant and The Warranty Group write and sell service agreements for autos written to allow themselves irrational and unfair loopholes in payment. Examples: Radiators are covered. All the connecting hoses to make them function and productive are not! All major components of the AC system are covered. Recirculation actuator is not! On and on. This amounted to an $1100 set of repairs and the warranty paid less than half. Pitiful. I PAID nearly $2000 for this agreement. The dealer salesman convinced me to go with them instead of Chrysler "to save money and get better coverage." Never again! Don't be fooled. Go with comprehensive and user friendly plans from reputable providers NOT 1 star rated and BBB non endorsed ones. Beware!

I'm a service advisor, and this place is a nightmare. Submitted a claim, they approved it rather speedily. Had submitted W9 when I set up the account a full day before, they said they needed our W9 to authorize payment. They advised emailing it takes longer and gave me a fax number to send our W9 to. Faxed it immediately.

On day 3 now they said we have two seperate accounts and need to merge our accounts. (We've never dealt with this company before.) Queue the run around. Transferred here transferred there, repeatedly put on ten+ minute holds just to be told we need to be sent to another department, who then does the exact same thing.

If your a prospective buyer of this warranty group, RUN. If your a service advisor and they tell you this is their company, avoid it!

I have called every other day and the only answer I get from the warranty company is that it should be another 24 to 48 hours. If there were negative stars I would do it. This warranty company is a joke. When I purchased for my son a 2006 Nissan Truck extended cab 4x4 with off road package in 2/2018 with approximately 77,000 miles from Big Red Sports and Imports in Norman, OK (another joke), I financed $2600 for an extended warranty, with no deductible. My son has been without his truck for over a month, this warranty company is paying zero and I am going to have to pay personally $1500 for the repairs needed.

Concern? = The Rear axle has shifted 2in. to the rear. Check and Advise.
Conditions? = ***After checking on the rear end we found that the pin that lines the axle up and holds it in place on the leaf spring has
completely rusted in two. Letting the rear axle slide backwards, also the lowest leaf in the spring has fallen out at some point. The
U-bolts at the rear leaf spring are also ruined due to the axle moving. In order to fix the issues we will need to replace at least the
Right Rear Leaf Spring. It is possible that both rear springs will need to be replaced due to the truck having a lift kit. The hard part is
knowing what size lift kit the truck has on it in order to order the correct springs. The truck is NOT drivable at this time due to the
spring and rear axle issues."

And First Extended Service Corporation only pays $55 per hour for labor which is also pathetic!!!!

terrible service, and their auto warranty is a joke. does not cover everything engine related. Throttle body assembly that helps get the car moving, excluded, even the mechanism shocked and that it was a travesty. so my car with a warranty cost me $1350 to repair. Not only that, but I did call to ask for some help. Not to cover the whole thing but just a simple help. I could not get them to even put somebody on the phone to offer anything other than sorry it is in the warranty it's not covered. Do not get at extended warranty from this company. They don't care once they have your money. And I have seen that and plenty of other reviews as well.

I deal with many claims on a daily basis with different companies and this company takes the cake for being the worst in customer service. Not only do they take hours to answer the phone. The employees are rude and take days to reply to emails. THIS IS NOT TRUE they requested I travel 140 miles one way from where I live, take a day off work to have the work completed at a Lithia dealership after being told I could have the repairs done elsewhere. First Extended is telling me the service dealer needs to do it yet they do know the dealer went out of business but they want me to go through the dealer. Evidently they think I can go to an empty building and start this. Also , if you live within 40 miles of dealer you have to have car serviced there. I live 44 miles from dealer but according to FE 44 is less than 40 so instead of taking my car 2 miles to a 5 star Chevy dealer they say I have to take it 44 miles away no exceptions. Be sure to read the fine print in your contract!! They will use every excuse to not cover an item because it is not listed as a covered item in your contract. Complete ripoff.

They stated that they will not cover a bad hazard light switch even though the contract states manually operated switches and mechanically operated switches - Their response was that the hazard light switch is not specifically called out as being covered.

Also, there is a $100 deductible for any claim you submit.

Bought a 2013 f150 Feb. 28th. Purchased extended service plan for 2880$. Just my luck not even a month later I am having all kinds of oil and coolant leaks. I got an estimate of $3400!!! I took it to the dealer and THANK GOD I bought the plforn. Everything is covered with a $0 deductible!!! So glad. Working on getting rental car today. Will see how the rest of the process goes. The worst customer service, people actually hung up on me. One day they gave me a fax number and told me to fax the receipt for the work I had done, the next day I called the same person and she told me they don t have a fax, no one is responsible for returning calls, we are traveling in an RV and paid for the repairs, after we called our sales rep peraonally he finally got them to give us a claim number for approval of the repairs. After spending 4 hours on the phone we again called the sales rep who had some one call us he said it could take 60 to 90 days to cut a check. With immediate banking as we have today how can cutting a check take 90 days. This is the worst customer service and no one you talk with has any information available to them!! What if I did not have 2K? I would be stuck in Oregon in a maintenance yard for 60 to 90 days. Again worst service ever.. there was only one person who was really nice out of about 8 or 9 folks we spoke with, so a bit thanks to Dwayne who works from home.

So I go through the trouble and expense of resubmitting via registered mail. A week later I called and they said they got the paperwork on Thursday the 11th when the post office said they delivered it on Thursday the 4th. Then they say it can take ten or more business days to process the claim. Well it's 10 business days later and still no payment. If you are considering this company DON'T!! They are crooks.

NO fax number on the contract agreement . Then they said, maybe I sent it to a wrong P.O BOX number. I told the P.O. Box number what is on the contract agreement, then they said, it's not the right one. This company is a joke.

The warranty group cares more about their mission to "generate profitable revenue" than they do about their so-called values. Supposedly they have values such as building customers trust daily , urgency to operate quickly for their customers, integrity, excellence and accountability. All of this is an outright lie. My car has been in the shop for 2 MONTHS. They have blatantly lied to me and attempted to manipulate me. Everytime I give them what they want they add another road block in my way. They are doing everything they can not to cover me. It is excruciating and heartbreaking and frustrating trying to deal with these people. It's honestly disgusting how they've treated me, I don't know how Scott Kearney sleeps at night. Stay far away from this company for your own good.

My wife and I purchased GAP insurance through First Extended Service Corporation, which was offered through the dealership that she purchased her Jeep at. This dealership has since been closed.

We paid her car off and canceled the GAP Insurance and it has been confirmed cancelled in writing since November. We were told to wait 6 weeks to verify that the dealership has issued the refund. Well the dealership was bought out, so no refund from them...we tried.

Calling in December, the representative told us that if the dealership doesn't accept the refund and issue us a check, that at the end of 6 weeks they would void the dealer refund and issue us a check directly.

Since then, we have been told that a check was mailed to our old address and was asked to provide our current address. We received internal emails from two employees that our account address was updated on February 5th, so at least we know they have our address down.

Today I called, and was told that they are still waiting to hear from the dealership... which was the step we supposedly completed in December? I understand this process if complicated with a closed dealership, but we have been lied to repeatedly.. on a recorded line nonetheless.

So in conclusion...
We have confirmed the policy has been cancelled.
We have confirmed the dealership will not be providing a refund.
A check was reportedly issued to our old apartment from several years ago.
A stop payment was put on the check when we updated the mailing address.
Now we are again waiting to confirm the dealership will not be providing a refund.

Lesson learned, purchase cars in cash.

Horrible to deal with I work at a dealership that doesn't sell this product and trying to help a customer with a claim. They told me they wouldn't pay the time my tech needs to perform the work. Along with they wont cover parts that were broken due to the original part snapping and breaking plastic. Then they hung up on me after they told me they wont cover those parts and that they will make more money if I send the customer to the selling dealer. So much for customer service. The customer has since called and got more time and the plastic parts covered. Why is it that the customer can get approval but not a certified dealer?

Paid $2000 and then after I used it twice they told me there was a cap and I had no more coverage only after 2 months. Car was in the shop for 14 days before they made a decision on wether they would pay for the claim or not and then only paid for 5 days car rental.

I didn't know much about warranties, when I needed my vehicle repaired due to some damage not caused by wear and tear they refused because what needs repaired is not considered a "breakdown issue" so I basically gave them $3,264.00 for nothing as they don't cover much and my deductible is $200 the only time they covered I payed more than the warranty did. Customer service is untrained, unhelpful and not all on the same page. I spent hours on the phone with them trying to get parts approved for my air conditioning, and after transferring to several different people finally got them approved. There was supposedly a note put in my file stating the approved parts. When I called the dealership to let them know, they called back after being told the parts were not approved and talked to a different person. The note was never written in my file, and the dealer was told that those parts were not covered. Parts that are clearly stated in the warranty to have been covered were being denied. The dealer was told they would not cover a condenser, but when I read the paperwork, a condenser is clearly listed as one of the parts that is covered.
Save your money. Do not go through the headache of getting this warranty. This company is terrible. They are classic scam artists who cover a few parts, but make you fight for them, and the parts needed to connect the parts that are actually covered are not covered. (I.E. They cover the condenser and compressor, but do not cover the hoses, lines, or even the bolts necessary to replace it.) Just imagine your insurance company paying to replace your roof, but not paying for the tar paper, nails or gutters. This warranty is a HUGE waste of money.

Slow responses to the dealership doing the repair, them not wanting to pay for all of the hours needed to complete the repair and not covering a part needed for a covered repair. I spent more on the rental car than I saved by having this warranty. Shame on me for not doing any due diligence prior to purchasing their warranty, lesson learned. I certainly would never use this company again and would suggest no one use them. The rating they have is for good reason and should be lower than it is!

State Farm paid off the evaluation Feb. 25th, 2017 and Honda told me I had to pay the remaining charges until gap paid them, or else reports would be made with the credit bureaus. Went ahead and paid off the balance while waiting for the gap refund as they promised that the process typically takes upto three weeks,

I call back a month later, only to find out that Honda was denied the GAP insurance from The Warranty Group because I had listened to them and paid the account off. Now, the Warranty Group has told Honda that they will only work with the customer, when previously, they said they would only work with the dealership as far as evaluating the car.

I recently bought a new/used car and two days after I finalized financing and paying $1500 for a warranty from this company, the check engine light was on. I rook it to a certified mechanic at a dealership and they diagnosed the issue as a stretched timing chain and told me it would be $2500 to fix.

I was so happy that I purchased the warranty until The Warranty Group sent someone to the dealership to look at the car and the denied the claim saying that it was a pre existing condition and I was forced to pay for it.

So after getting stuck with that bill, I picked the car up and in a couple more days the check engine light came on again. I brought it back to the dealer to see what it was and they diagnosed it as a faulty catalytic converter. Once again The Warranty Group denied the claim.

The reason you purchase an aftermarker warranty when you buy a car is to protect yourself from these kinds of situations and this company just denied the claim saying that the issue would have developed over time and therefore, would not be covered at all. This was stated to me by their customer service and the Assistant Supervisor of Mechanical Claims, Andrew LaPorte.
