If you are moving here switching from Comcast/Xfin...

If you are moving here switching from Comcast/Xfinity, expect worse everything. We got twice the speed for half the price of Directcom. If you happen to not stay on top of your bill, they are not shy about fees, and will still disconnect you, even if you pay before the disconnect date. I believe this is to try and get a 50$ fee out of you, since there's no reason their system should take two days to register a payment made on their own website.

2 star for having decent internet. The company itself kind of blows though, but what are your options in the rural area they serve?

I have been with Direct communication for over 5 y...

I have been with Direct communication for over 5 years and never had any major issues. During the covid crisis my service allowed me to work from home and support my clients all over the US via VOIP and gotomeeting video sessions with no slow downs or interruptions. I have been extremely satisfied with what they have provided my family. Thank you Direct Communications.

UPDATE: After the issue was finally resolved, we have not had any more major issues with our internet service. Bumping this review up to a 3 star.

First of all, my first experience with Direct Communications was very pleasant. Brenda at the office was very nice and super helpful, she even managed to get our installation scheduled a week earlier then they originally thought they could. Installer was very nice and helpful with answering questions. Internet worked pretty good for about a week... and then all the sudden it just stopped working one day. I called the support line when I got home from work that night, and they were very nice and helpful with trying to troubleshoot a few things, in the end they said that the issue was on their side and that they would escalate it to their advanced team to look into the next day. That happened on Wednesday. So Thursday morning I get a call from a support rep, and they tell me that the issue was that my router likely stopped in the middle of a firmware update, and that all I would need to do is factory reset my router and then just make sure the firmware is up to date. I was at work when I got the call so I tried that when I got home, and the internet still wouldn't connect. So I called the support line again, and once again they were nice and helpful, and again said that the issue appeared to be on their end and that an advanced tech will look at it the next day. So the next day(Friday) I get a call from tech support and they said that they know what the issue is and that someone will be out to fix it at 3 that day. So someone came out, and did something with the box outside the house real quick and then left. We then set our router up again, and internet was back on, hooray! We thought all was good and that it would be smooth sailing. But the next day around noon the internet goes out yet again... WHAT THE HECK!!! So we call support again, and the experience was the same as the previous times, in the end they say issue seems to be on their side and that an advanced tech will look into it on Monday when they are back in the office. So we will see how that goes.

I will say that so far every Direct Communications employee that I've interacted with has been very nice, unfortunately their service has just been a horrible experience so far. On Monday when they look into our issue again it will be 5 days that we've been completely without internet, and we've only been with Direct Communications for like 2 weeks. Hopefully once our issue is finally resolved I can give a good update on this review, but at this point I would not recommend this internet service because it's been very unreliable.

We moved to Eagle Mountain 9 months ago and having lived in other areas, we have found Direct Communication to have great service. Very seldom do we experience a delay in streaming movies or music. The customer service representatives are also very helpful and kind when they talk to you. I really feel like they are there to help you with any need you have without making you jump through hoops. Thanks Direct Communication!

Had a problem with my router picking up the internet. Called thinking I wouldn't be answered but was desperate since I was in the middle of a huge project on a time limit. To my surprise a gentalmen answered although he asked questions I wasn't sure how to answer he did get a bit rude for a minute, however me simply saying you don't need to be rude he quickly turned it around. He asked me to bring it in and a few min later it was fixed ready to go and I was on my way! I've had internet through this company almost 5 years and honestly not much problems. I did have to wait through a weekend once when it went out but first thing Monday they was on fixing it and finished quickly. Highly recommended!

The switch from VDSL to fiber was very quick and seamless. If anyone is having an issue with speed (especially on wifi) I would look into getting a good AC router, like the Asus RT-AC68U. Most wifi issues can be fixed by using the much less crowded 5Ghz band.

2 weeks ago a DSL modem went down and after the call center couldn't help me, Ben Hayes stepped up and got me in contact with Justin who was able to troubleshoot the problem and arranged for Greg to come out the following afternoon to setup a new DSL modem and WiFi. He also let me know that fiber optic would be ready on my street this week. I got an appointment for install and am now enjoying my 30mbs duplex fiber optic connection. I do a lot of VPN connections building eLearning modules for clients so the faster speeds are definitely appreciated.

I've had Direct Comm's Internet services for 1 year and 9 months and they have only gone down twice for an hour each time. Their customer service has been good to work with on outages and when I had billing questions. We have fiber-optic cable right up to the house which provides lower latency and the option of a symmetric connection with high bandwidth. I prefer a wired internet instead of wireless satellites because there is less issues with it. All the cables are underground too, so they are not affected by heavy wind storms. As far as I can tell, there isn't any bandwidth throttling for streaming video and there is unlimited bandwidth each month.

We started with them June 1st, 2019. We were promised high speed, fiber optic service. Since we started with them we have had nothing but problems with our internet, billing and customer service. Even if we connected our router to the device directly we still were unable to receive service without buffering or connectivity issues. The worst of the issues was with the Wi-Fi. The router was changed out multiple times and we had a tech come out to her home on five different occasions. We were paying for dual band wireless and our 5 GHz connection was never solid for more than about a minute at a time. The Wi-Fi would constantly toggle back and forth between the 2.4 and the 5 causing the devices to disconnect frequently. After 8 months of consistent issues, constantly calling tech support and having technicians out to our home, we emailed billing and requested a credit to be applied to the account. They applied a $20 credit to our January bill. We didn't pay the January statement and let them know we would be happy to send in payment if they would offer some kind of a resolution. We weren't looking for a crazy high credit and or discount. We were simply trying to reason with the company and get them to see that we weren't even getting usage out of our service. They would tell us on a consistent basis that they were the only provider in Eagle Mountain. After a lot of research I was able to discover that there were other providers in the area but unfortunately none of them had fiber optic. I called the billing department to try and give them one last chance to proactively try and help us. I work from home and it was faced with having to quit my job because at the time I didn't realize there were other options. I talked to the office manager, Diane, on January 21st. I asked her to provide some sort of an explanation as to why the decision to apply a $20 credit to our bill. I was looking for a specific calculation to support their decision. She refused to provide me with any explanation as to why they applied that amount. I asked her if they could take a look at the usage, frequency of issues and repeat calls to customer service and calculate a more accurate credit to the account or provide some sort of a discount to offset the service issues. Diane was extremely rude to me on the phone and refused to provide any options to help our family. I told her I was going to look into canceling my service with them and she said that she did not care if we left the company. I asked to speak to someone higher than her and verbatim she said there is no one higher than me I am the highest there is. I asked her to provide me with the owners name and phone number. She did provide me his first name but said "He doesn't talk to customers" I was so incredibly frustrated by the end of that call. We paid for 8 months of service at an unreasonably high price and only a $20 credit and no other options to provide adequate and fair service. I reached out to social media and discovered that most of the customers in Eagle Mountain experience similar internet issues and more specifically issues with the office manager treating customers poorly. I should also mention that I requested a copy of the notes from all the interactions I had with their company. By law, as a customer we are entitled to that documentation. Diane refused to provide the notes. I am extremely dissatisfied with this company. Fiber optic or not, this company should not be allowed to practice business. They are falsely advertising yet no one is getting the service that is promised. I will continue to make sure that people are aware of the unfair practices of this company.

If you have a problem expect horrible service. The internet went out at my home today..... lived here 4 years and each time I've spoken to someone at DC I end up just wanting to tear my hair out. Now I have to wait to get someone to look at this tomorrow as the staff in at night can't do anything anyway. Plus they know nothing....30 minutes wasted as they know absolutely nothing. It was like having my grandparents trying to trouble shoot my problem..... incompetent company here!

We have been with DirectCom for 10 years I believe. They are great. We have had a few issues here and there over the year. But that is just to be expected with technology and growth of their services. We had more issues until we got fiber and we have very few with fiber. But the services tech that came out each time was awesome and went above and beyond to fix it until we got fiber. Be patient with them and they will be patient with you. But you can t go wrong with DirectCom.

It's upsetting to know that as a company they are not willing to work with their customers During this Covid 19, I am currently out of a job until Sept. I asked if they can work with us on amount due and they denied to assist. The Manager suggested to borrow the neighbors wifi, go to places with wifi or local library. As a company they decided to start disconnections as of 6/15 with a $50 reconnecting fee. Very disappointed with her response from this manager.

They were quick and thorough and everything has been very smooth since. I would recommend them to anyone, even outside the Eagle Mountain area.

We have had a great experience with Direct Communications. We've been customers of theirs for almost 4 years and have only had one small issue. When we called them to get it taken care of it was handled within just a couple of minutes and without having to stay on hold for hours like other companies. Despite the higher usage levied upon them, I have continually had fast and dedicated access for my work, my kids homework, and all of our entertainment needs. Then I called back and they said that there is any issue and their whole team (4 guys) is working to fix it. This company offered a promotion for 2 months for faster speed. After 2 months we called and said we don t want the faster speed and to reduce our speed. They didn t do anything. The next month we get billed and we say that we canceled that speed we wanted the lower one. We said if they took off the $15 difference, we wouldn t mind staying with them. They refused. They charged us a late fee and cancellation fee because we said we didn t want to continue service because we didn t want the faster speed. We now owe $168 FROM ONE MONTH OF BILLING because we canceled with them. DONT GO WITH THE COMPANY!!! You will get billed if you cancel or want to reduce your speed!

We are new to Direct Communications, but after calling multiple other internet providers, Direct Communications was the only group who was straight about pricing and what they provided. At install, the installer came when he said he would, he was professional and fast at install making it no big deal. They were very good at explaining what we could expect as far as billing goes and we have had no surprises. We've loved the services so far and love Direct Comm!!

I have been with Direct Communications for 13 years now. They have provided a fantastic service during all that time. That's not to say that there hasn't been a few hiccups along the way, but when I've called for a service, they have been right on it to correct the problem. They've even had technicians sent to my house within an hour of the problem. It is their customer service that I am most impressed with!

Do not do business with Direct Communications LLC. Please do yourself a favor of taking the dozens of very negative reviews online as well as their F rating on the Better Business Bureau serious. The internet and fiber wire are fine, but their business practices and customer services are absolutely terrible.

My experience - I was a customer for several years. When it take time to discontinue the service due to moving, I went into their office to make sure the cancellation was done properly (there were many bad reviews online I read on them of customers experiencing problems canceling there service - ie., continuing to receive bills).

I cancelled my service at that time and paid all owed in full. I asked the customer rep there several times confirming there was nothing else needed from me (current/future fees, etc.). She assumed me there were none. 3 months later I get a letter in the mail from a collection agency for $100. This included a 'disputed' $50 fee on the account after cancellation, 2 late fee charges applied by the company, as well as a $20 collections fee. I called Direct Communications directly to try and resolve. They said there was nothing to do as this was already sent to collections. No communication was ever sent to me via email, phone, or mail (I provided them my forwarding address upon cancellation) by Direct Communications regarding this.

I don't write reviews often, but do so in order to limit this from potentially happening to another person. Again, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DIRECT COMMUNICATIONS, LLC.

Hi, I got the same response from you that I got from Diane. This is literally the smallest issue I have ever had with a company, but the biggest hassle to resolve. All I wanted to do was set up autopay, but the credentials you provide me with don't work on your site. I've read the instructions on how to register and have followed them perfectly. The issue is that when I go to sign in with the credentials that you provide, it says they're invalid. This is not something that I can fix!!!! Please fix your site so that I can have the convenience of Autopay.

Shame on this company! They turned our internet off even though our son needs the internet for his homeschooling during this craziness with being quarantined. They refused to help us even though we told them we would be able to pay half of our bill now and the rest by the end of the month. Their guidance was to go to ridleys and use their wifi or the rodeo grounds etc... I am so disappointed in this company and their poor excuse of customer service.

I am a returning Direct Communications customer after a horrible internet experience with a satellite competitor. I spoke with Brenda when I made the switch and she was so helpful! I really appreciated the customer service I received from her. When the installer came out (the day after), he was so professional and didn't make unnecessary holes in my house. It looks very clean and professional!

The service is ok. A bit spotty. The website for managing your account is a bit older, and I have had issues with the automated payments where they just didn't happen, with no notice of any kind. And when you call them to ask about it, there is zero understanding of how that works and zero empathy. I've generally found their customer service very inflexible, un-empathetic, and not friendly. I cant wait till another competitive option is available.

I was with Direct Communications for a little over 2 years. Their speeds are pretty good being they are the only fiber routed provider in the city. When my computer was hardwired to the modem I was able to get 75mps. No quarrels with the service reliability in general it worked and worked pretty well considering my location. My biggest stink is their customer service is horrible. It's been a couple years but when the tech came out for the inital is set up he did a piss poor job and hooked it up in my living room when instructed previously to run the line to the office. So that's strike one I suppose, strike 2 I had to call in because I was getting super slow speeds while hooked up in the living room. They couldn't fix it remotely so a tier 2 specialist had to come out. Which means I had to miss work. $$$ out the window. 3rd strike, never been late, pay the hiked up price each month, fullfil contract ect.... Over $2,500 spent most likely. Fall behind once, and the internet gets shut off and I try to make an arrangement and they refused to take a pre scheduled payment for the balance in full. (Can't wait 4 days?) Anyway I guess I broke the bank being late and the company is now folding. Because of their lack of understanding and unwillingness I canceled service. I'm with UBB now we'll see how that goes.

We've been customers for several years now. Direct Communications has great speeds and service. Every time I have called into the office they are very pleasant to work with, I believe her name is Kristy. We work from home and have had only a few connectivity issues over the years, that were resolved quickly. We also stream Netflix and have no interruptions, we have the 8Mb plan, and live in the are with Fiber-to-the-home.

The telephone service is good, but we rarely use the landline. "Fiber optic" internet service: pretty awful. Plan on outages lasting from several minutes to several hours several times per week. If they werent the only game in town, I'd consider other options.

Edit: Two weeks later, another outage. We recently discontinued dish network service, foolishly assuming we could get by with streaming alternatives like hulu and netflix. No such luck. Our internet service, even with fiber optic, is too sporadic and unreliable. Again, if there were other options out here for internet service, I have trouble imagining a scenario in which Direct Communications would get another dime from me.

Direct Com has been great to me! When I first moved into my new house in May my house wasnt hooked up to the Fiber network and they came out the SAME DAY to hook it up and get my internet working! The internet is very reasonably priced for the speed. I play lots of video games and watch plenty of movies online and I rarely have problems. Plus its cable so you don't have to worry about satellite being a problem. I have recommended it to several friends who have moved out here.

Before getting cut over to the new fiber optics for my neighborhood, we had lots of issues with the ADSL connection. It would drop every 30-45 seconds and that happened for weeks. Today a tech came out unexpected and actually got the fiber hooked up, quickly, and now we are up and running. Thought that was awesome that they fit me in their schedule even though I wasn't scheduled for the tie over for another week. Thanks for the quick support!

I have never taken the time to do a review on any company before but this has honestly been the worst service of any sort I have ever had. Our internet always has a connection but literally none of our devices can load anything. And when you call for customer service I just sit on hold until I get frustrated and hang up.

When I need help I am put into a phone tree ( not a live person) who either sends me to a voicemail, which doesn't call me back! Or I wait for 4min. After which I am forced into the voicemail. If you find a live person they are short and quick to push you off to someone else all of which leads to you getting no help or service. I shelled out $300 and got this treatment with attitude. They are not fast to respond, not fast to offer service or help. Not feeling any love here.

Best Internet company I've ever used. I do a lot of gaming and always have great speeds and no issues. Customer service is always great as well no complaints at all. Don't listen to The bad reviews at all to make a decision try for yourself and see. I've had them for years now and couldn't complain at all. I know many people who use direct communications as well and they've got great things to say as well. You won't be disappointed if you choose them for your internet provider.

My husband and I just moved to Eagle mtn. and we have decided to get service with Direct Communications well that s if we could ever get it set up. We have been trying to get them to set up the internet for the past month and it s been a nightmare. Reschedule after reschedule, full of excuses and nothing gets done. If there is a problem with the wiring why isn t that being addressed? We have been patient but really how long does it take for someone to come and splice some wires. No sense of urgency or care for that matter. Trying to complete online classes and work from home is impossible because of NO INTERNET. This is ridiculous. I was having a lot of problems with my DSL and had called them for about two months to get my modem replaced. During that time, I was receiving responses that my modem was fine, it was just that the wireless needed to be rebooted daily. I finally got a technician to come out to my home. He found that the modem was bad, and that the wiring from outside into my house was not correct. He changed the wiring and gave me a new modem and everything has been great. I appreciate the quick response to my needs on the last phone call I made and for the technician who came out and fixed everything. I am excited that the subdivisions around Nolan Park are finally getting fiber optic installed. I am excited to have that in my home.

We have been with Direct Communications for over Two years now and they have been nothing short of AMAZING! The installation was quick and very efficient! Anytime I have called them for questions they are quick to answer or direct me to who I need to speak with (usually during bad weather!) I am so very pleased with the high internet speed we receive all the time. I do social media work for a boutique and I am constantly on the computer and never have any issues! I appreciate how friendly and Happy they are! They have a great team and I am grateful to have Direct Communications! Thanks for all your hard work and keep it up! :)

Getting signed up was easy! Tara, who we spoke to on the phone to get our services scheduled went above and beyond. We needed to get hooked up sooner than they had availability for. Tara put us on a "Cancelation List" and called 10 minutes after our initial call with a date two full days earlier. We've only had the services for 5 days. So far, so good.

Super reliable connection, they do have some policies I do not understand but they are incredible at finding a solution that works for their customers. For me the mark of a good company is how you handle the "speed bumps" that come along with any business, and Direct Com definitely cares about their customers and bends over backwards to find those solutions.

I have not used Direct Communications but I have dealt with someone within their customer service. I really wish I remembered her name as she was VERY rude to me! I tried getting some pricing as I was looking to trade due to my job. The customer service agent got snippy with me when I asked about fiber, and I decided that I did not wish to go with them due to the fact that they did not yet offer it where I am located.

I've had Direct Communications for over two years now and have nothing but good things to say about it. I pay for the 250mb down 125mb up and it has been amazing! They have no data cap, no throttling, and incredible speeds. My recommendation to anyone getting their service is to get a quality router to get the most out of their internet. (I'm a big fan of Eero and Ubiquiti)

We had direct communications at one time and let me tell you their service sucks! We constantly had the Internet drop and had to re-sign in every time. We finally left because they could not seem to figure out what they were doing. We now have slower internet but are willing to deal with it because there are no problems. Oh and after we canceled our service with them they continued to charge us with out telling us.

Getting internet installed is a nightmare. I called 5-10 times and left voicemails to get installed. No one ever called me back and I was only able to get through once. After finally reaching customer service, I was told it would take a week to get an appointment. When the appointment day came I was told that I would have to wait another 4 days because of technical issues. They told me they would arrive between 8-9am. It's now 11am and no one has showed up. I would recommend not using direct communications if you can find another option. Sadly, I can't.

Between my husband and I working, one college student and one Jr high student doing work all day you would have expected something different. Nope. Ran perfectly. We use the Google WiFi mesh system in our home and always have wicked fast speed.

I've been with Direct Communications for over three years now and I love it. Truly. We don't have outages, we don't have lag, we can stream on many devices simultaneously and do quite often. Even on peak hours we don't see it slow down. I'd recommend it to anyone.

He set everything up, and gave me some great recommendations on optimal placement within my house, and on how to utilize the product best. If my interaction with this technician was any indication of my future experience with the company, I'm thrilled!

My experience provided by Direct Com/Eagle Mountain was one that was extremely professional, which was in stark contrast to my previous internet provider. The transition to new service was seamless - from my initial phone inquiry with Riquel, who was very helpful and friendly, and I appreciated her immediate follow-up email confirmation detailing our conversation. The day of the actual installation with Jordan did have a few hiccups, but these were out of his control, and the issues were immediately discovered and resolved. Jordan was calm, highly service oriented and walked me through all aspects of the install, as well as welcoming any and all questions. Speed of the new service has not disappointed and I feel their prices are very competitive! In addition, receiving a follow-up call the next day to ensure I was satisfied with their service was a definite plus!

Built a new house at the top of a new development and didn't expect them to have fiber (or anything else) there yet. But when I called, they had fiber already run to my house, and had an appointment to install just 1 day and bit later! The tech showed up and was fast and knowledgeable, and the speeds are even faster than I expected. Would recommend as a great ISP for eagle mountain!

The internet service and speed is horrible. When I called in to tell them it isn't working they wanted me to get a new router rather than fix the problem. But that was the least of my problems with this service.
They offered me a 2 month promotion at a higher speed at the lower speed price. When I called in to cancel the promotion after two months they did not cancel it. When I called in to discuss the mistake they made Marjorie, customer service manager, told me she was unwilling to credit for their mistake. She even laughed at me saying "You're just mad because I won't give you what you want." I asked to speak to her superior. When she put me on the line with Diane, the office manager, she gave me the same attitude and offered to disconnect my internet. Absolutely worst customer service. I would recommend not ever using their service to save your sanity!

My only caveat: If you have advanced wiring in your home (anything Cat 6 and above) purchase your own connectors before the tech comes for installation (buy the RJ45 connection adapters that match your wiring) as the installation techs are only provided with cat 5 adapters. They will work but it defeats advantages of the higher bandwidth wires.

I have been a Direct Communications customer for many years. Overall I am very pleased with my service. It's reliable and I hardly ever have a problem. The staff are always friendly and treat me like a valued friend. I would recommend it and it fact I have to family and friends.

We have had both Comcast and Century Link prior to DirectCom and they were both terrible ISP's. DirectCom has been a pleasure to work with they got us up and running fast and the price for 150mb fiber is very reasonable. We pay a quarter less then we were paying Comcast for half the speed. There has been now evidence of downtime or throttling of speeds. I might never move again since a good ISP is rare these days.

I have had Direct Communication Fiber Internet for a couple of weeks now and the service has been excellent. The customer service rep was very helpful and the installation technician setup everything within 10 mins. The service has been extremely stable so far and just works. The speed and the fact that they do not have data caps is a huge plus for me!
