Not pleased with service or connection. Always cuts out and I have done all the upgrades they have suggested.
My internet went out, and when I tried to call them to ask them what what going on nobody answered the phone. No customer service, no text support. So then I drove down to their office, and the office wasn t open. They just had a note on the door saying they have an outage and are working on it. All I m saying is it would have been nice if they could have sent out a message or even answered the phone to let me, and other people know what was going on. It s very frustrating that they didn t have anything in place to let me know what was going on. And that I had to drive down to their office to just see a note. I think it was very unprofessional that after trying everything I never spoke to a single employee. And that the only reason I found out anything was because I had to physically drive down there to see a piece of paper.
We have been in Eagle Mountain for about 3 weeks. So far, we've had no problems with our experience with Direct Communications. We haven't had any issues with our Internet experience since we've signed up. We also had no issues with our installation. As of now, I would definitely recommend them to others.
I love Direct's fiber internet. Have had great service with approx 99.999% uptime over the last 5 years. Fast speeds and a good price. Make sure that you use a high quality router and you wont see the issues that most people see. The router makes or breaks your in home experience. Keep up the great work Direct.
We have been customers of Direct Communications for 5 years now and we love their internet service. We very rarely have problems and when we do, they are usually resolved very quickly. Every time I call on a problem, they have been able to help or give me a reasonable time frame for service. They are a great provider and service for our area.
Our speed with Direct Communications is super fast. We watch Netflix a lot so speed is important. The videos load quickly and don't have the buffering problem others may experience with different providers. When we have had a problem, tech support has always been friendly and helpful. They have come to our house to fix some issues we were having and have been fast and professional. We are extremely happy with the speed and reliability of Direct Communications.
Direct Communication has been great for my home, fast speeds, and very reliable, but the thing I loved about them the most, is their customer service and tech support. I didn't have to wait on the phone for long periods waiting to get answers, they called me when they had an opening instead of making me wait on the phone. Awesome service, and they fixed the problem quickly, and contacted me to let me know things were resolved. Only had on minor issue, and have never had problems since. Best internet service I've had, and we are streaming video 24/7 along with a lot of downloading, and online gaming. Plus they are very affordable.
They are rude, the service is terrible and goes out a lot my internet is out and they won t fix it and won t tell me why it s out. I chatted with them Diana was rude and didn t even answer when it said I am chatting with Diana. Don t ever recommend them!
Internet quality was decent, but the customer service was pretty awful. I set up auto-billing 2 separate times and they still couldn't figure out how to charge us without having us manually enter the payment information online each month. I called to cancel the service when we moved and then (no surprise) they didn't end up actually cancelling the service, so we got a nice late fee and disconnect notice a few weeks later. If they didn't have a monopoly in our area, we would certainly choose somebody else.
We have had very few problems with DC and those that we did were fixed promptly
We've been a customer for about a year now on the 250 mb/s plan. They've been great except for a bit around March when everyone jumped to work from home but it was quickly resolved.
Amazing service so far!!!! We have struggled with internet service ever since we moved out to Eagle Mountain 4 years ago. We tried Digis and hated the internet speeds we got... it was NEVER what was advertised. We then switched to RapidWave and they were ok, but then they merged back with Digis! We had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS and were regularly getting speeds less than 1 Mbps even though we had been paying for 15 Mbps. With Direct Communications we are getting exactly what we paid for (20 Mbps) and sometimes we even exceed that amount! I am absolutely amazed and wish I had made the switch years ago!
Great customer service! But not 100% about startup costs.
Their fiber optic lines are AMAZING!!
My UPLOAD speeds are faster than the download speeds from any other provider I've had. DirectCom is GREAT!
If I could leave 0 stars I would. I live in eagle mountain and I pay $75.00 a month for the worst internet. I'm suppose to be getting at least 30mb download and 4 upload but its usually 7-8 mb download and .25 upload. I had Xfininty and was paying $35.00 a month for a consistent 75mb download and 35mb upload.
That is just the tip of the ice burg. Their customer service is T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E
They are finally finally bringing fiber out to our neighborhood and I called to make an appointment and she said we can get you scheduled in about a month and a half. A month and a half?!?!?! I said is "is there any other openings or cancellations and she said "Nope". I said "fine" whatever Ive been loyal and patient for years with them, why not wait a little longer. 2 hours later my next door neighbor calls me and tells me they scheduled him in a few days. He had Direct communications for a few years but canceled, but decided to come back. Apparently they will bend over backwards for new people and screw over their existing loyal paying on time customers.
The only reason why Direct Comm exists is because they have a monopoly in Eagle mountain. Xfininty and century link aren't allowed out because the city knows that direct communications would go out of business in a matter of days. They know that people would flock to other companies in a heart beat.
Hands down out of all the companies that I've dealt with in my life, Direct Comm is the worst. Not just internet companies. I mean all companies
Here is just a tiny list of things:
1. Terrible internet
2. Ridiculous, obnoxious $17.00 land line fee that no ones uses. You get like 100 minutes a month? What is this, the stone ages?
3. Rude Customer service reps that tell you to cancel your service.
4. Way way way over priced internet. $75.00 for unreliable slow internet. I cant stream a movie and download something at the same time.
5. Constant outages. At least 1 a day. Their fix is to "restart the modem"
6. if service goes out at your house, they send a tech out but you have to pay $50.00 for him to fix something that's their problem.
Well, rant over.
Direct Comm -- I hate you
P.S a lot of the positive reviews are made up by employees that work there. A lot of them aren't real
Horrible service. I would rather have to deal with the slow dial-up you were forced to deal with in the 90's than this. Lived in one area of Eagle Mountain and our contract was finally up, service there was frustrating but quickly fixed. Bought a home out in City Center 2 months ago, called to transfer service only to be told we would have to resign for another year contract. We did. The day after the service guy was here it slowed drastically! We have called more than a few times and have had to leave voicemails with their IT guys -they have yet to call us back! We have sites time-out all the time. We are constantly losing connection. We will get connected to our network connection but then have no internet access. For 2 months now we have been told they have no reports of any problems in our area. From reading peoples comments, both here and on media outlets, this is a lie. I wish when we had called to transfer service, and agreed to their $200 cancellation fee, they would have let us -the consumer, know about the service problems out here. Very unprofessional way to run a business! Disappointing at best!!!
Competitive rates and good speeds. Lacking in billing standards and transparency. Watch your bill closely especially if you are on auto pay and save your chat conversations.
I sometimes hear people talk about their internet service going down. I never have to worry about it, think about, or deal with my internet service going down. Direct Communications' internet service is the most reliable service I've had in over 25 years of internet usage. It's so nice to have reliable service I can count on!
One of the easiest transactions I've had with a ISP. Spoke directly with someone locally. Technician was friendly and answered all my questions. Recommend them highly!
Direct Communications has been pleasant to work with. Everything has been straight forward and the service has been good.
Not impressed with direct communications. I have had consistent issues with my connection for at least a year, namely that my leased modem keeps failing (at least that's what I think is happening). In the past, I have had to call in and have them troubleshoot the problem which usually is just a reset of the modem. Most of the time, it happens in the evening after their staff go home, so I'm left with their night staff that don't seem to know how to fix issues. It's not uncommon for me to have to wait for their tier two people to contact me to fix it.
I finally was able to figure out how to do a hard restart on the modem after talking with tier two support, and it's practically clockwork for me to reset everything every two or three weeks. Sometimes it's not a hard reset, the modem just up and stops working for 5 minutes and then starts up again.
Not sure if it's a crappy modem or crappy service at this point. For what I'm paying on dsl (still in one of their old neighborhoods where they only offer copper service), I would have hoped it would work better. I really wish Comcast waa building out here, a little competition would help!
The worst. It s ironic that communication is in their name because they re not very good at that.
They have been great with me and my situation.
Went through a divorce and they were willing to work with me.
Thank you.
Great service, don't think I've ever lost service, and they helped when we switched to a Google WiFi router.
My wife and I tried the other ISPs in our area, when we first moved to Eagle Mountain - each of them left us sorely disappointed. We were early adopters of streaming TV and online gaming, so good bandwidth and low latency were both critical factors for us. Finally, we made the switch to Direct Communications (who were a little more expensive way back then), and OH BOY did that make the difference. That was 12 years ago, and things have gotten even better since then! Today, our ISP bill is actually LOWER than when we started (Can you say that about your cable company?) and our bandwidth is more than twice what it was in the beginning. We're Direct Communications customers for life - it's THAT good.
I have a love/hate relationship with Direct Com. The actual internet service they provide is awesome. We signed up up September of 2013 and I can think of maybe once or twice the internet was lagging. It works great with Netflix etc. The hate part is the billing. I moved to Eagle Mountain needing internet service and I was referred to Direct Com from a friend and they have had good, reliable service from them. The referral program is that the existing customer gets 100 dollar credit for the referral and the new customer gets a month free after 30 days. The problem(s) we had was my friend never did get a 100 dollar credit. She decided to call in and they hassled her claiming that she was making it up. They finally found it in the system and they said they will credit her account for that. As far as my account goes I haven't been credited for my free month yet. It is December 5th 2013 and they said after 30 days (signed up September 15th) I would get my month credit. After calling several times now they are saying the month will be credited in January 2014. Only 4 months after the fact. I hope they pull through with that. Their itemized bills don't tell all. That's what they try to refer you to. At times that I have called in the customer service reps act like I am interrupting their candy crush game to help me. Overall great internet service poor customer service. I will gladly write a more positive review if they improve their services.
I have used this provider for six months now. Nothing but issues since day one. Absolutely no customer service. I have been without internet now for two days and no help. This is the worst internet provider I have used since Wifi Broadband was invented.
I can't believe we pay over $50 for this internet.
It never works, can't even load instagram videos, if using two different laptops at the same time internet won't work And they advertise it as the fastest internet out there horrible connection.
Worst internet company in the world. They basically have a monopoly on eagle mountain so you basically get what you get. I can wait for another decent internet provider to come to town and all of their customers dump DC.
I was charged with a late fee that was caused by their billing system failure to withdraw the funds. I called in but they would not refund the late fee since the month already past. Not the best business policy, no reason to get upset customer for a $15 fee.
Again their system fails to charge my card so now I have to pay a reconnection fee, this is a shady company do not do business with them. The only reason they have customers is because they're the only option. Once Comcast covers their area they will be out of business in no time.
I have there service under a week and they have had outages every day thus far. I cant believe i am stuck with these half rate providers for 6 months...and they are the only fiber in City Center.
We have been with Direct Comm for a few years now and it has been the best experience. Our internet has never really been down and if it has it wasn't down for very long. It's fast, reliable and affordable. I plan on upgrading my speed soon. Thank you for keep it working when we all needed it most.
I pay for a gig down. I get half a gig down while wired. So I get half of what I pay for. Unresponsive. Unhelpful. Go with any other provider. They also store account passwords in plain text.
For those that believe they are stuck in there contract, you are not, they have a $50 early cancellation fee, and then you can get out. Below is why we decided to leave.
For the first month or so we were happy. Easy setup, fast response by technicians coming out. Then we started getting horrible service when we noticed constant slow speeds (as slow as 1 to 2 mbps according to our speed tests) despite paying for 50 mbps. No resolutions were made with the consistent slow speeds and frequent internet outages. When we called multiple times regarding the slow speeds we received just sorry your speeds are not guaranteed. The only resolution finally offered was for us to pay $50 for early cancellation of our service.
This has thus far been the worst internet service provider I have ever had in terms of internet speed quality, resolution of speed issues and customer service that actually leads to any problems being fixed.
I change my review. Our internet has gone out lots lately and it's out now.
When I call to report the issue in Eagle Mountain it said the call can't be connected so I can't even reach them through customer service!
We have used Direct Communications for internet services for the last 5 years and have nothing but good things to say. Anytime I've had a problem, my issues were resolved quickly. All staff members are kind and professional and treat their customers with respect. With the fiber optic lines, Direct Communications is the best service you can get in Eagle Mountain. You don't have to share your bandwidth with neighbors, so when you want to sit down and watch a movie on Hulu or Netflix, or play your video games, you can rely on a good fast connection every time. Thank you Direct Communications!
Very professional. They've been quick to respond to technical support calls, and have been helpful and respectful on the phone and in person. Prices are reasonable, and the service itself has been really good and reliable.
The only gripe I have is that there's no rent-to-own program for the router they provide; after two and a half years of renting it at $10/month, I realized that I had paid more to rent the thing than it would have cost me to buy it new. Be sure to bring your own router to the service, and you should be a happy camper.
I am in need of internet in Utah. I am a single mom of 2 and Direct Communications has nothing to offer as help during these difficult times we are facing. They only waived $75 of the $125 connection fee as long as I signed a contract. They still cannot come to setup the internet for 11 days!! I needed it today. I work from home and my kids are home doing school online. Not impressed!
The lack of Customer Service skills with this company is unreal. We have waited 5 weeks to have internet, my husband and I both work from home and need internet... that actually works. Today is our first day having service and it's already down. The tech support sounds completely uneducated in rebooting and solving problems. The "it will be fixed tomorrow" needs to end. Our jobs depend on internet... welcome to 2019 DC... we aren't the only ones that rely on internet for our livelyhood. This company is quite pathetic so far. Very disappointed.
I love the fast internet, the emergency line, and because I can talk to a local office, customer service is WONDERFUL. I really appreciate the office personnel. Also, I don't think I've ever had a nicer guy install internet for me. He was very respectful and willing to go the extra mile to make sure my family was set up. Thank you, Direct Communications!
I've lived all over the US, and internationally as well and this is easily the best Internet company I've ever had. I'm honestly flabbergasted that anyone is having bad experiences with this. Tech problems have been solved within the hour, responsive service the few times I've needed a response, and unbelievably fast and reliable internet. In my experience, with the same equipment, Direct Communications is hands down the best internet and internet company out there.
The unclear, incomplete, and contradictory instructions are why I give them 1 star.
I was late on my payment, so I got this notice that my service would be shut off on 1/17 if they didn't receive the payment by 3pm. It turns out they meant 3pm the day before. So now I pay an extra $50.
I called both the week before and the day before to pay, but was on hold for 15 minutes both times so I gave up to look for an online portal of some kind. The bill I received only said I could call them, but it turns out they had a website that was luckily indexed by Google.
In order to set up an online account, I needed my account number and a security code. It said that the security code was the last 4 of my account number and the last 4 of my phone number. I tried that and it didn't work. So I googled around and found 3 different statements of what it should be, none of which worked. I finally found one that said if nothing else works, try this one! It had the full security code, so I entered it in and it worked. Why is my security code called "security code" if it's public? I don't have a problem with other people paying my bills I guess, but why do they go on some weird spiel from the 90's about how their website is so secure with SSL if your password is public until you yourself register? Anyone who knew my account number could have logged in as me. And I guess it would have been annoying if they changed my password, effectively blocking me from paying bills online.
Anyway, I work 80+ hours/week and rarely have time to race through the labyrinth of a 6-year-old's incomplete instructions, so if they mentioned a website in the notice I might not have thought I needed to wait for their tiny window of business hours to coincide with a free moment where I could kick this off. Then maybe I could get through all these obstacles before 3pm the day before the deadline mentioned.
Very poor service and very poor customer service. Internet service will drop at random for hours at a time without any sort of notification or word about when you can expect service to return. In an age of COVID-19 where people are working and going to school online, you would think that they would be paying extra attention to their customers but this company couldn't care less. They will just send you a bill every month even though you do not get what you pay for as far as speeds or as far as uptime. Once another internet company moves to Eagle Mountain and sets up shop, I imagine there is going to be a significant exodus from this company and I don't think many will look back once.
WORST SERVICE EVER. We had our service set up (by their technicians) upon move in November 2016. It was a brand new house. Aside from the tech showing up outside the service window time frame and having to have another tech come out the following day, we were told to buy, "any modern router" by their tech. We did buy a modern router only to be told it was not compatible. We then bought a second router. Our internet rarely worked. Again, a tech came out, looked things over and told me to buy a new router. I called and asked for a SPECIFIC list of routers. I then purchased an expensive router from the list I was sent. My internet still worked only randomly. I called AGAIN. They sent a tech out to look things over. He found they had not set up the connection properly in the basement and had mixed up the wires at set up, 5 months ago. He corrected the problem and went on his way. Later that day, the internet stopped working. Again, I called in they sent another tech out. This tech found a completely different issue with the original install on the outside of my house. Something was not clamped down tight enough. He fixed it and went on his way. Our internet now seems to be working, for the moment. I have paid the monthly service each month, over $100 in overages on my cell phone bill to be able to work from home using my cells hot-spot when the internet goes down and over 200 in routers that was not needed as they were not actually the issue as they claimed they were. When I called in to ask them to credit my account for all the months this has not worked THEY OFFERED ME A 3 WEEK CREDIT. It hasn't worked for an entire day in probably 5 months, I was instructed to replace routers that didn't need replacing and had to use my mobile data plan just to be able to work at home. I told them to keep their pathetic credit and I will cancel my service. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE, GO WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY.
ZERO STARS. This is the only option in Eagle Mountain, which is ridiculous enough, and the amount of people that have issues with it is astounding. This company truly has the worst service in all aspects, something I ve never experienced. They have terrible customer service, when they do actually answer the phone. They do not let customers know when there are outages (which are very frequent) and when you try to get ahold of someone to find out what s going on, the phone just rings. Customers are not compensated for poor service. My internet goes out at least once a week. It is not just about the router you have, we have now tried 3 different routers, all that were highly recommended for better internet and we have had the same issues with all 3. The fact that this company is still in business shocks me every day. If you are moving to Eagle Mountain, good luck finding even somewhat decent internet.
My family uses Direct Communications for all our Movie and TV shows and daily browsing. We do not have cable, only streaming of NETFLIX, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. 98% of the time we can watch full length movies without buffering mid show. We have the 14/1 speed service, and it works great! We live in the city center and I can only recall about 4 issues with down service. 2 being weather related, out of their control. 1 was Direct Comm's issue on their end, I called and it was back up within 18 hrs. When I called, the customer service phone operator was great; very professional. The wait time was longer than a call on a normal day, but I'm sure it was due to a high volume of calls reporting the same outage, but overall I was very pleased. My 4th experience with Direct Comm's this year was when we upgraded to the FIBER connection; since then my internet has been even faster than before and it didn't cost me any additional money, and I was able to keep my plan. The install/upgrade was fast and free, only would have been disconnected from the internet for about 1 hr. However, our fiber install was scheduled during an important online conference for my wife's business, and she could not miss it. I confronted the tech outside my home with the conflict of timing and he professionally and politely offered to/and connected us back to the internet while he continued to install the fiber; again at no additional cost. (this made his job harder as he had to run another 100ft of temporary cable just so my wife could continue with work) Overall, we have had an exceptional experience with the service and employees of Direct Communications of Eagle Mountain, UT and would refer it to family and friends.
Terrible. Internet goes down all the time. When we call to get help about it the lines won t go through every time. We have a nice new expensive router too. Our whole neighborhood goes out too. They often have widespread outages. The customer service is terrible. The price is good. Once our 6 months is up we re leaving!
My family has been with Direct Communications since they purchased Eagle Mountain Telecom. We've lived in Eagle Mountain for 10 years now. It's a been a good company in which find value. My internet is up in bad weather, when others are down. I think those who are frustrated about the prices should do a little research and they will find that Direct Communications doesn't get to choose what they charge. I understand the fact that Eagle Mountain is considered a rural area, and things are going to be a little more. I appreciate Direct communications being the only ones who were willing to invest and take the phones and internet off the city's hands. I've seen lots of improvements over the years in the service and the reliability. I've seen all these improvements too, WITHOUT my bill changing. In 7 years, I've only had to call their tech support a couple of times. Sure I have to do a router reset every now and then, and I get things happen, but I've been happy. I have to restart my cell phone, my computer, my laptop, to name of few things, to ensure they keep running smoothly. I've also lived in two different communities out here, in a condo and now a home, and have never considered going with anyone else.
Love direct comm! The fiber is awesome. Highly recommend.
I have only good to say about my experiences with Direct Communications. We had them setup fiber optic service when we first moved in and haven't noticed any service disruptions. Their customer support has been helpful and knowledgeable as well as their technicians to get everything wired up. They even terminated all the CAT5 lines that run throughout my house even though it wasn't necessary to setup service.
A week ago I noticed that my download/upload speeds were much higher than I was paying for. I checked their site and found that they had increased the speeds on all their plans while lowering their prices. It was a nice surprise! I would recommend Direct Communications for Eagle Mountain internet service.
my name is Musa i live in Eagle mountain i had Direct communication internet for over two years now never had problem before but last three months i had nothing but problems with my internet. every time i call i get pushed around to different people and we go over same trouble shoot no one offered for tech visit to fix my problem. and every time i call they keep telling me that there is no note that you called but yet everyone i talked to keeps telling me that i am putting note to follow up and someone will contact you but no one ever contact me. very poor customer services i cant wait till another company start offering services
Heather is amazing customer service and she is always friendly and willing to help you with your questions and she remembers your name.
I signed a 6 month contract with them since apparently there's no other fiber optic internet company in Eagle Mountain. I never received any communication past the initial connection and installation. My service was disconnected yesterday for non-payment, however, I never receive a bill or email of payment due just a final disconnection notice in the mail that I didn't get to since I was out of town. I'm now being charged a $50 reconnection fee. Some of us are struggling and $50 make a huge difference. Sending an account statement and phone call to your customers before disconnecting would help!
I love my internet! We have never had such great service or customer support!!!
Direct communications for 12 years and it is an awesome internet company! I love how fast the fiber optic is. Dont listen to the negative reviews because, most the people who have issues are due to their router... and that isn't direct com's fault.
06/19/2020: Through a post on Reddit, Direct Communications was recommended to me as the preferred ISP in Eagle Mountain, Utah. I liked that the various plan prices were plainly stated (with month to month contracts) and that I was able to easily sign up online.
Although I had to wait a couple of weeks before everything could be set up (summer moving season) the technician was able to come first thing in the morning and have everything up and running within about an hour. The technician himself was great - he showed us options of where we could set up the wireless router (no modem needed!), upgraded the prior cables in the house, and even replaced a router cable with one he made himself.
For now, I would rate Direct Communications 5 stars for "good quality, good value, and professional". Since I have only had the service for less than a month, I will provide an updated review at a later date.
We recently moved and wanted to try a different provider. Direct Communications has offered a super fast, no problems option that I feel is very well priced. Happy customer!
"I can't believe we ever left them!" We began using Direct Communications when we moved to Eagle Mountain over 8 years ago. Their services are the best. However, we were lured away by an unnamed wireless competitor to try and save some money. We tried the competitor for about a year or so and were miserable. We gave the wireless competitor every opportunity to improve their internet speed and customer service issues. They just couldn't do it. We were happily welcomed back to Direct Communications, got our old phone number back and we couldn't be happier with their service AND the impressive internet speed. Thank you Direct Communications!!
We've lived in Eagle Mountain since January 2001. We've been long-time Direct Communications customers and we have been very happy. When we moved from Orem we were thrilled to have our phone service from another provider. We've been treated with kindness and respect; our questions get answered quickly and thoroughly. The staff is personable and friendly both on the phone and face-to-face in the office. The folks even remember our names on those occasions we need to ask help or information. The personal touch provided by Direct Communications is priceless. The previous phone and internet bundle provided a terrific value. When that ended a few months back we appreciated the time that was taken with us in multiple phone calls to explore our best "a la carte" options to meet our needs--and those discussions saved us a lot of money. There was no pressure to purchase an unneeded phone service or option. Years ago when we shopped around our internet provider options we pitted Direct Communications against its competitors. The time taken to answer our questions and the speedy response to get us connected AND the lightning-fast DSL speeds made the decision to go with Direct Communications a no-brainer. Plus, we were pleased to avoid the need of having anything installed on our rooftop or drilled through an exterior wall to enjoy internet service. Having a DSL line into our home is ideal. The internet service and speed is so good that we dropped our Directv subscription in favor of streaming video to our televisions. The speed, bandwith, and reliability is terrific for a home that connects lots of internet and wireless devices. We know we have still other phone and internet options but we aren't going anywhere--or to anyone--else! We love the Company; we love the service; we love the staff.
Many people think that the fastest animal is the cheetah. But unfortunately it is not. it s the Perigen falcon. The Perigen falcon can reach speeds up to 200 miles an hour. Now that s fast. My Internet speed is like the Perigen falcon.... FAST!. We have four televisions going at the same time, everybody s on there phone and two people are always gaming there s no lag at all.. Direct communication has made my family very happy. Being new to Eagle Mountain I wasn t Familiar with Direct communication s and a lot of the reviews were not great. But I m here to tell you that my experience has been outstanding. Tara and here team in the front office was exceptional. The install tech and manager help my family get hooked up and streaming in less than 30mins. I can t say enough about Direct communication but my family and I are definitely very very thankful. I would recommend them to everyone moving to Eagle Mountain.
Worst service i have ever had. Bad communication, my bill was estimated at $60/month but in the mail i never received a bill i only received a cut off notice that was anywhere between 100-140 dollars. Then when i moved out of stated and returned the router to the location they told me to call in and they will take the router off my bill. The next bill i received had the router charge, when i called to take care of the situation the line kepts saying it was busy.
They're anything but direct with their communication.
If their internet is down, their phones are down. Ummm...so how do you serve paying customers when they can't contact you in any way? You don't. Because DC owns internet in Eagle Mountain and doesn't have to be reliable or provide what you pay for. The monopoly has clearly made them lose all interest in providing even mediocre customer service.
You phones need to not rely on the internet, ya dinguses.
The internet continuously go's out i have issues with it every day bilut for some reason its always in the morning wish there was another option up here
Been with Direct Communications for 6 years. We have had very few problems and when we do have them, communication is great. Occasionally, there has been an outage, but I can't remember the last one we had. They have a 24/7 hotline you can call if you suspect a problem and they have always been able to troubleshoot from their office. They actually encourage you to use as much high speed data as you can and we do use quite a bit. We also like the emergency phone plan so we have a home phone line which is great in case of emergency and/or for the kids who don't have cell phones. Highly recommend Direct Communications.
Set-up experience was easy and pain free. Internet coverage has been great. Very pleased with the experience so far.
Prices are a little high but speeds are amazing so it s worth it! Also the staff in the office are very friendly and professional!
Issues with the service since the install! These guys know the have no competition here in Eagle Mountain so they can continue to run mediocre internet business and service This is NOT WHAT FIBER SHOULD BE!!!
Movies still buffer and the connection is inconsistent! Tech support bless their hearts back and forth back and forth not sure how much Tech is in the support. If Comcast should ever make it to Eagle Mountain I hate to say it But Comcast would be a better internet investment Trust me!
Eagle Mountain Needs a NEW Internet Service Provider Fast! No pun intended .
Direct Communication Services is not an honest company. I had a $100 credit supposed to be coming to me for a promotion. I fulfilled everything I needed to, but because I paid my bill on time thinking I would get a check back, I will now not get the credit because they will not give a check to you for any credits on your account. Horrible customer service and very misleading advertising. It is unfortunate to have a business like this.
I moved to Eagle Mountain in June and set up my internet and haven't had any problems with it.
That said, I set up automatic payments, or at least I thought I did. I was instructed to drop off a voided check with my routing and account number at the drop box in the building just east of the Maverick. They weren't seeing the public at the time and whoever I spoke to (Dianne?) Told me to leave it there.
I guess automatic payments weren't set up (on their end) and they're charging me $50 to reconnect. The lady I spoke with said she wasn't going to do anything about.
Today, I just set it up online, which was really simple to do, and I don't remember being able to set up reoccurring payments like this a few months ago. Why would they have me drop-off an envelope with a voided check and then deny it and say I'm making it up?!
Bush league.
Great company!! We used to have xfinity/comcast and their service was terrible and the product wasn't that great. This product and service blows them out of the water!! We all need good wifi so get it from a company that can make it easy and happy for you! 10/10 recommend.
Good internet usually, trash customer service. Avoid them. Pretty much as useless as it gets.
A lot of reviewers on here make me cringe. Most of the negative reviewers complaining about technical issues are complaining about something out of their control and they just don't understand how the technology works in the first place. The reviews that actually are concerning are the ones about billing and customer service issues. Which is totally normal for any ISP unfortunately. For those that say you are paying for a speed, let's say 50Mbps and you are getting much less that is not an ISP issue. The only time it would be an issue is if you plug an ethernet cable into a laptop/PC capable of using the full speed you purchased and running a speed test that way instead of over WIFI. This is how you confirm you are getting the speed you are paying for. When you try this 99.9999% of the time you are getting the speed you paid for. The problem lies in the wireless capability of your router and/or the wireless capability in your device. Most of the time the problem is that your router can't wirelessly transmit the speed you want. This is common if you are using the router provided by the ISP especially if it is a cheap one. The one I got from them is fast and I had it working up to 250mbps before I went to a cheaper plan. Still I don't recommend their provided routers over Netgear models you can buy at BestBuy. I wish I kept my NetGear router. Anyways I have had cheaper ISP provided routers before and most of the time they can barely wirelessly transmit at even 5Mbps. If you are getting very slow WiFi speeds chances are you aren't paying for the router you want or you have bad interference from neighboring WiFi networks. You can either buy a new router or buy a second router/access point to bridge off the ethernet port on the ISP's router. When you go buy a new access point or router make sure it says it is capable of "802.11AC". This means it can work at 5Ghz and work in the hundreds of Mbps.
My experience with Direct Communications so far has been alright. I've had CenturyLink and Comcast and DC has been more reliable for me. They are easier to get a hold of. I know people complain about their customer service, but they answered my call at midnight the one time I had an issue. They did charge me a late fee because of their stupid billing system others have mentioned. I just adjusted the timing for the next month to avoid further late fees. They aren't the best in the world, but they are the best we have in Eagle Mountain for now.
This company is horrible and has the worst customer service. The service is never up to par and we never get our full speeds that they promised. They promise to give you a credit on your account but don t tell you it s only going to be 20 dollars. Seriously for two months of horrible service 20 dollars! If they weren t the only internet service available in my area I would never use them. Sadly I have no choice. I do not recommend this company.
If I could give less than 1 star, I would. If this wasn't one of my only options in Eagle Mountain. I wouldn't even think about this company. Customer service- Poor, Internet service- Poor. The sales rep was extremely nice and DID NOT give me all the information I needed before signing up. I chat in to get some answers and they hide behind "this information was given to you at some time, I cannot answer for my coworkers" and gave 0 desire to help. No options were given. The answer was blatantly "We don't care about our customers. we want our money" It makes me sick to my stomach. I don't even want to live in eagle mountain anymore. I'd rather go back to not having internet and living like a hermit. Real bad taste in my mouth. I don't like this company. As soon as my contract is up. I'm leaving without ever looking back
We have loved Direct Communications so far. Having fiber has been a whole new experience. We love it!
DirectCom is the Best Internet Service Provider I've ever used. Their technology is up-to-date and always reliable. I love the speeds available via the Fiber Optic infrastructure. Excellent network and company!
If it is available, you need to use Direct Communications for your internet service. This is a great company.
We just purchased our family's first house in Eagle Mountain. When I was researching Internet providers I was immediately interested in Direct Communications due to their fiber optic connection. I was stoked to find out it was already hooked up to our new home. I was also very impressed at their reasonable pricing, so I visited their office. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Their technician hooked me up quickly and was able to answer any questions I had. While we've only been customers for about a month, we have enjoyed the speed and reliability of their service. I highly recommend Direct Communications!
I wasnt sure what to expect but I've been so happy. Customer service was wonderful the tech who installed was quick, on time and so nice. I would give 10 stars if I could. Plus my internet has been amazing!!!!! Good job guys!
For the most part the internet service has been pretty stable. Every now and then the internet goes down but then they usually fix it pretty quick!
I love the speed and flexibility of Fiber. Their tech support is knowledgeable and helpful.
The gaming experience is the best playing fortnite is easier than ever I load straight into any game no problems at all you barely have to look at a loading screen.
Never a single moment of down time for us, great speeds, and any special requests such as port access, static IP, etc. were fulfilled very quickly.
The connection is fine, the cost is fair, but billing & customer service are a nightmare!
Very friendly and helpful!! Would definitely recommend!!!
I have lived in Eagle Mountain for 6 1/2 years. My dealings with Direct Communications have always been positive. The customer service is awesome, whenever I have called them the reps have always been very pleasant and helpful. Keep up the good work :)
We have had Direct Com for over 3 years now. In the past we have had a couple of ups and downs with our internet service, but the techs were always great about getting the problems resolved quickly. We have had a much more personal level of customer service with Direct Com then we have ever experienced with another business. They really go out of their way to make sure our service is up to our expectations, and if it isn't, they take the time to work through whatever the problem may be until we are happy with the result. We have had multiple service providers over the years, and Direct Com is definitely the best. I recommend them to everyone moving into our city.
We just moved here to Eagle Mountain and and are relatively new to the state, we decided to go with Direct Communications for our internet needs. After making the initial phone call to schedule someone out to our brand new house Direct Communications was quickly out and already running fiber to the house. Once we got the keys to the house the tech was out the next day to hook up the internet on the inside of the house, although the tech tracked in mud from his boots all over the freshly cleaned rug I was a little disappointed and told the staff what had happen and they were very helpful and assuring me they would notify his boss to make sure it didn t happen again to anyone else. Service has been great so far and would recommend this company to anyone. Staff in the office is very friendly and helpful.
I just recently purchased a house out in Eagle Mountain, and called a number of ISPs, but NONE of them provided service in my area. I was recommended a Satellite provider with aggressive sales tactics and was put off, when I stumbled upon Direct Communications. They have done their absolute best to make sure that I am happy with the services they provide and worked with me to see which plan would be best for my situation.
I was originally set to get installation on the 5th but requested that they called if something opened up. They ended up calling on Monday and were able to move it to today.
The technician was on time and courteous. They called beforehand to make let me know that they were on their way. I had a few simple questions and he was able to answer them all.
TLDR; Good experience with their customer service. Would recommend. Will update as needed.
Thanks to Ben Hayes and my technician Jordan. Tara was great in billing.
Seems like a quality company and the service has few strings attached. Great experience so far!
