Matt M. did a great job installing our new hot water heater. He was very professional and gave me several options. I chose what I wanted and it was installed within a few hours. We had hot water before he left the house! He wore booties over his boots and put a barrier on the carpet before hauling the old, broken water heater out of the house thus keeping everything as clean as when he arrived.

These guys where hired by the company who finished my basement and literally didn t make the final connections to my basement bathroom vent, water leaking down the inside of the wall onto my carpet...They came out to fix the issue by tossing some silicone around it and it failed about a month later again. What a joke.

Good customer service and left his card for any additional problems and explained the problems and the cost up front and fixed it on the spot same day. I had called genz that day and explained my Heat was not functional and I had my terminally ill father living in my home on hospice and it was the weekend and with the snow storm coming I was concerned about the heat not functioning properly. The lady was very respectful and dispatched someone that day to fix the problem.. would highly recommend this company!

When asked about other costs, he didn't know. When asked about servicing mobile homes, responded yes. Genz_Ryan called a couple of days before appointment to say they were swamped with work, could we reschedule. Not a real problem. Rescheduled for july 10. Waited the entire afternoon, finally heard at 5 pm that he was in rogers and on his way. At shortly before 6, he called again, asked if lived a mobile home? Told him yes, then Ryan told us that "we do not service those!" REALLY GREAT COMPANY, NOT!!!!

I had a technician scheduled to visit my home to check my AC problem. Though he came on time, the moment he entered home and till he left he is just focused on selling stuff rather than focusing on diagnosing the problem and provide me options. He just check Freon level with his device and said it very low and his device is not showing anything other than OL. Also, checked capacitors and said they were not good. He didn t explained to me why they were not in good condition or why I need to replace them. Then he proceeded further to check to AC unit inside. After he opened the coil door, he showed me there was some rust and straight away told me it s leaking without any diagnosis or without any proof. He suggested me to replace the coil and gave me few options which are costing in the range of $450.00 all the way to $4500. He told me he would share the diagnosis report which he did after a lot of back and forth. Also, he is very much interested in selling genz-Ryan stuff than focusing the job and solving the issue. He was also rude when I told him that I needed some time to think through and go about my options s. I would never take Genz-Ryan service or would recommend it to anyone. Also, I would neither recommend the technician Josh to anyone and never solicit his service in future.

Matt the plumber and Jesse the installer have been fantastic! Showed up on time, masks on, very cheerful when facing a huge replumbing of our main bathroom! We had a tile contractor out this week to give us a bid, and when he saw our plumbing, he whistled and said, "Who did your plumbing? This is beautiful work, give me their number!" We're really grateful they did such a good job, because the people who owned this house before us were... DIYers, to put it politely. Our plumbing was a mess, and now it's great and we're so relieved! Five stars!!!

I called for tune-up for a roof top A/C unit. The tech shows up and all looks good by this point. The company sent an extension ladder to have the tech climb to the roof top. This was not the appropriate extension ladder which would support his weight then he also he discovered the ladder was cracked. He called in to send a lighter tech or get a good extension ladder. At this point I was told that the service call was cancelled by the supervisor because the "roof did not have access". I gave the information up front and I specified the type of roof and the height. I was troubled by the end result.

I had them come out and give me an estimate for a furnace and AC. The sales rep came out and the quote kept going up and up and up..... I backed it down several times to the point it was around 14,000 when he was done. So I got a couple more estimates and 2 came in at 5-6k less with the same equipment quoted, same service plan and warranty. Big companies are not always the way to go as it took money to get that big and stay there. As I am not against making money or paying it for honest work, I am not going to get held up by fools in love with money.
Another part to this after posting review they sent the dog pack out to get me to change my review. Ever wonder why they are so highly rated wake up people 5 stars does not mean they do it all right......

Our ac went out during this incredibly hot & humid spell. I called Genz-Ryan on a Tuesday morning and was happy to have someone answer before 8am! They were booked until Thursday due to the 4th of July holiday. Christy set an appt but also added me to the urgent need list. She was very friendly and let me know that they have cancellations throughout the day and would call if they could squeeze us in. A few hours later she called back and let me know that we were on the urgent list for that day. She quickly & clearly explained the process and service fee structure. Later that evening ee got a call from Noah F introducing himself and confirming our address. He arrived 20 mins later and was professional and friendly. My husband sat out with him while Noah evaluated the situation. Noah clearly explained our options and we were able to repair our unit. He ended up working quite late the night before a holiday but the ac was fully fixed and he never gave the slightest hint that he was tired or ready to be done after what had to have been a long day for him. I will not hesitate to call Genz-Ryan for any other repair needs and will most likely work with them when I need to replace the ac or furnace at my house.

Their customer service is a joke! I've heard such good things about this company and am so disappointed. They needed to reschedule my 12-5 appointment window but called the incorrect phone number. I called at 5:30 to see where the tech was and they pulled my account right up based on my phone number but couldn't provide me a reason why or even how they got the incorrect number. I had missed 5 hours of work waiting for this tech and all they could offer me for an excuse was they called the wrong number to reschedule the appointment. When I asked to speak with a manager I was told that one was not available and they would call me next business day. I received no phone call and 2 business days later I called back and got the excuse "the manager is in a meeting and we're not sure when they will be available". I am still waiting to hear back. :(

I requested them to come out and evaluate and replace 2 bathroom ceiling fans. After 45 minutes of evaluation, I was quoted $2000 to replace both fans. The fans cost around $200 each - - so that's $1600 in labor costs.

Andrew was personable, respectful, and professional. He worked fast! And diagnosed the problem in a minute. He gave me several options with different prices, and I ultimately chose another option, which he promptly executed. On this Veteran s day, when another business cancelled my long-scheduled appointment, Genz-Ryan was able to come in the same day. They sent Andrew, a former Marine who served in Afghanistan. An he conducted himself accordingly. Thank you again Andrew and thank you Genz-Ryan.

I constantly see the ads on TV for Genz Ryan so I decided to reach out to them when i had a need for a humidifier. I put in a request for a quote and didn't hear back from anyone for 13 hours. They left a message on my cell in the evening. When i called back the next morning to continue my conversation, I was told I could not get a quote but needed to schedule someone for a week later to come out to my house to give me a quote and had to pay $99 for the visit. I'm in sales myself and spend hours describing our services and giving price quotes for no charge in my day to day business so found that to be very frustrating. Contrary to their advertising jingle, I don't "love those guys." They may be great but I'm not going to get roped into working with a company who can't even offer general price ranges for services before obligating me to a $99 charge.
UPDATE: I was contacted the day after by a sales manager looking to find a way to resolve my issue. I still did not decide to work with Genz Ryan but I appreciated the call and the effort. Maybe next time.

The service and professional work that was done was undeniable. We were told however that the original quote was locked in ,regardless of any installation issues. Well that turned out not to be true as we had 1,150 dollars added to the final cost with the water heater install. Pictures were taken of it a week before the installation happened. However, the pricing is outrageous. In addition to another charge, we were charged $189 to put a small piece of foam around a pipe, which took less than 10 minutes. I will be looking elsewhere for future plumbing needs.

Update: I was told I would be receiving a partial refund as part of their membership program within about 3 business days. It has now been almost 2 weeks, and still no refund. I called 2 days ago and was told I would be contacted by someone, which never happened. Terrible company!

The communication from the office/operators TO the technicians leaves much to be desired however (didn't correctly relay job information to the technician). I hired Genz Ryan GR to perform an AC tune up. They said there was a leak and offered 3 options including a new AC. That was 5 weeks ago and I have yet to receive the estimate. I have contacted them 5 times by phone, email and today via online chat and still haven't gotten attention of anyone at GR. It should be very simple to get an estimate. Based on my experience I would have given them a minus 5. It is hard to believe they able to stay in business. I have repeatedly asked for a manager or owner to call me but it must not be in their DNA. Respond after a call from GR. I called the customer service manager back and never received a call back. They will not get my business!

He said, "You have no idea? what if I told you $20,000?" I said, "Is that what you're quoting me?" He fiddled with his iPad and then told me, "$9100." I asked for an invoice or a quote or a break down of costs. He asked, "Why do you need that?" I, a single woman in my own home, was speechless. I said I wanted to see the breakdown of the parts and labor. He said he would send it by email. I called Genz Ryan later in the week and they told me the technician was gone for the day but would send the quote when he got back. A week later, still no quote or invoice. Customer service was rude and unhelpful. I feel sad and emotionally distraught. Will never do business with Genz Ryan.

*Revised* I was very appreciative of Genz Ryan's quick response time and how friendly our first technician was but after our first appointment (which is when I wrote my initial 5 star review) the experience and service quickly declined. When our first technician came out he said they'd make sure I'd have a new HVAC system with a high efficiency/SEER rating so we'd receive the furnace and A/C rebates which would help with the costs. When it came time for the rebates, well after it was installed, I was told the A/C installed was the lowest possible SEER and doesn't meet the rebate requirements. No one told me this upon installation, I also wasn't given a choice of what A/C SEER rating I wanted. I trusted the first tech to deliver on his word and make sure I got the rebate. I'm extremely disappointed that I was charged a flat price for the entire HVAC system and at their own discretion they installed the lowest efficiency allowed to be sold in MN. This must be how they make their money. Do your research, ask more questions, and verify what's being installed before you work with them.

Our air conditioner went out on 8.19.2013. We researched some options and had multiple quotes given to us. All of the companies had great representatives, but Genz-Ryan had a great representative as well as a great promotion to go with it. We were able to schedule our install of a furnace and A/C unit the next day and Pete came in and made the install a great experience. It was done with respect to our house and he explained everything very. The install looked great and is working just as well. We were very fortunate to have Pete come in and do such a great job. I would recommend Genz-Ryan and Pete to anyone.

My electrician Andrew Schreiner and his assistant were great. They asked what the problem was and then asked a question or two in order to verify how to fix the problem and then went to work and accomplished the fix. They gave me three fix it options from minimum to top of the line and didn't try and pressure me. I have used Genz Ryan for electrical, plumbing and replacing furnace and AC units and they always take care of us in a positive professional manner.

Mike Busher did an air conditioning checkup for us. Great guy great job. He is definitely 5 star and raises GR to a 4. Genz Ryan scheduling and communications isn't very good. The night before the scheduled checkup they sent me a text reminding me of the appointment. The morning of the appointment I called to see if I could narrow the 4 hour window. They said they wouldn't make it that day and would schedule me 2 weeks out. I wasn't happy. I settled for a one week out. Then they called me a little later and said the guy was on his way.

GenzRyan is simply the best! Customer service, second to none, and their coordination of work is fantastic. You have to experience their service to believe that such a company exists. We worked with Rodney Pierce @ GenzRyan. He did not stop at his job for us he went above and beyond and even got us in touch with things not related to his area. From start to finish they look at every minute detail and ensure that its done right first time and in time. Looking them work is like taking a peek into a manufacturing plant. They schedule things very nicely back to back and are prompt. They will not leave you hanging. Communication is excellent and follow up is phenomenal. Without any second thoughts I would recommend them strongly to anyone I know and even not know.

I had Genz-Ryan out in November to work on my water heater and replace an outdoor water faucet that leaked when it was turned on. After they did the work I noticed the water heater was leaking where they had just worked on it. I called and they came out again and fixed it. This Spring when I went to use the outdoor water faucet they had replaced in November I discovered it leaked worse than the one they replaced. When I called Genz-Ryan to tell them about it i was told it was only warranted for 30 days but I could pay to have them come out and fix it again.

Update: Genz-Ryan came out and replaced the faulty faucet without any charge. I'm much happier now.

I had a plugged up bathtub and was also going to have them replace my faucet and knob to turn the water on. They told me it would have to be 2 different appointments and I was fine with that. They were supposed to come out on 7/30. The guy that came out to unplug my tub, I think his name was Mark though I can't remember, was extremely pleasant though the charge was $295.00 to unclog my tub drain. I was fine with that seeing I thought it would take more than 5 minutes. All he had to do was snake it. There was a blob of hair stuck in the trap. That was an outrageous price for 5 minutes of work. Had I not had him do it I would have been charged $95.00 just for him to come out. Again ridiculous. The guy that was supposed to come out to replace my bathtub fixtures never called or showed up. I should have read the reviews though one of their employees lives in my neighborhood that is how I found out about them and he comes into where I work. He doesn't work in plumbing so he didn't know what they charged. I trusted this company but I feel completely ripped off! Don't believe when it says to Request a quote because they can only do that when they come out and it isn't free unless you have the work done though I think that was put into the price!

I called the next day, 7/31 at 9 am and spoke with a lady about my dissatisfaction and she was going to have the manager of the plumbing department call me. Ted called me at 9:42 am and I explained to him my feelings and thoughts. Because I paid by check vs. credit card he told me that he couldn't give me a refund. I talked to him about getting a reduction on having the faucets replaced and he said he couldn't speak for them but would put in a note and hand walk it down to customer service. I in turn called customer service back at 9:57 am and was told she didn't have nor did she see the note but would have someone call me back. Nobody ever called me back and it is now 9:26 pm. Extremely bad customer service. Never would I suggest these folks ever!!!!! I want to reiterate that the tech that came out was very pleasant and courteous it was customer service that was awful! I feel as though Ted didn't follow through either seeing nobody ever called me back.

I have seen the companies responses back to people saying that they have tried calling them back. I am not sure if that is true or not but I can tell you they never called me because I was home all day long and the only phone call that I made was to Roto Rooter so my phone was open.

I wound up contacting Roto Rooter for the rest of my work plus talked to the tech named Jake about my water softener because it wasn't working and I purchased one from them. He got everything done in a matter of hours! I asked him about what they would have charged for the plugged up tub and he said it would have been around $100-$125. I will be contacting them from here on out!

*Update- The manager called me back on 8/3/2020 (for the life of me I can not find his name that I wrote down) He apologized about my experience. Told me that they use subcontractors for this type of work and that I was on the tail end of them breaking ties with them. We agreed upon he would reimburse me for 1/2 once the check cleared and that he would send me a $100 gift card for any future work in return I would delete my bad review. I deleted it and the check still hasn't cleared and I never received the gift card nor heard back as to what is going on!!!
