Continued to send statements to an old address after I had updated my license and registration and refused to negotiate the ridiculous late fees. Both the online and automated telephone systems are extremely frustrating.

First off I am an out of stater. I came to visit family in Parker, and during my visit I guess my google maps has had me using this toll road which I was unaware of. I was under the impression it was an expressway that requires 3+ people to use. Well I was wrong and when I called them they pretty much told me tough luck. At least the lady told me that I could go into my maps settings and turn off toll roads but nonetheless $33 just to drive on the road a couple times is expensive and ridiculous.
I like the toll road, but the web site does not work well. I have had to phone in my payments to a person multiple times because I could not pay them online. The same is true for the phone system, which has not worked to charge my bill to a credit card.
Wow what a rip-off. I went online to pay my dollar $1.95 bill they're $6 and fees so did go through $1 toll road they want $7.95 this place is a freaking rip-off they need to be shut down and stop sending threatening letters to people as well the hell's wrong with you people
We received a bill for driving in the toll lane with three people in the car. There are signs everywhere that say 2+ people is no toll. The operator said you have to have a transponder to travel in the toll lane for free with 2+ people. I have a feeling the operator on the phone was just trying to rip us off, I mean this can't possibly be true. If this is true, the state of Colorado should order E-470 Authority to remove this rule.
As a E-470 account holder, I was pretty ticked off when I tried to pay my bill and the website REFUSED payment- because they want MORE than the balance owed. Yet they have no problem having Linebarger (Law Firm) send you a letter stating that you owe them money. Newsflash- you can't refuse payment then sick your attorney on that same person for lack of payment. Your legal standing just went "bye bye" when you refuse payment of the debt owed. Your website IS your authorized agent (from the legal standpoint) and your authorized agent refused payment. Good luck with that collection at this point. Your customer service ignored the email sent to them regarding this issue and your agent again refused payment after you were notified of the issue.
Customer service is excellent. However, the billing process for license-plate tolls is horrible. I moved to CO for school and have been having this issue since I moved here. Bills are rarely sent, but late fees and collection fees always accumulate while you are waiting for a bill. This process is in serious need of change.
Great job! I wrote up a concern about a Safety issue that requires tearing up concrete on s 470 near the airport just a couple months ago, and they are alreadyFixing it! High marks
Charged $1.45 plus $25 in fees for me driving in the HOV lane with 2 people in the vehicle.... without their $15 reader thing. I was doing EXACTLY what should have been free and the entire reason the HOV lane was created for and still got charged $26.45 for it.
They promised me a refund on the toll road because I have definitely not taken it as much as they are claiming I have. I wait 8 business days and I still haven t received that refund. I call back to see what is going on and they tell me that they never promised me that. This is total bull and I promise I will never be using the toll road again. The customer service was so rude when I called back and refused to help me in any way. The only reason I am giving a star is because I can t give any less than that.
I have had several very bad experienced with using the tolls. First, I have never received a bill from them until after a late fee has already accrued. One time I received a bill so late that I ended up paying a $20 late fee for a bill that was less than $5. When I spoke with the customer service representative, they informed me that I would be able to have a statement sent to my email since there was a problem receiving them through the mail. Not once have I ever received an email from them. I even confirmed that they had my email correct and I have still not received any emails. Second, I paid one of my bills and paid the late fee, even though I explained to them that I hadn't received any bills in the mail and I was told that it's my responsibility to ensure that I pay my bill on time whether I receive a statement or not. This is fine, but the last time I paid my bill plus the late fee, I received another bill in the mail saying I owed even more. Upon speaking with one of their representatives, I was told that they never received my payment (I didn't have a confirmation number because it is not provided after making a payment over the phone). I checked my bank statement and it showed the payment was withdrawn from my account. After letting the representative know that, he said I still had to pay an additional fee because although I made the payment that day, the late fee was applied before they received my payment. Usually payments take time to process, but since they didn't receive it on time (even though my bank statement shows that I paid it on time), I was charged the additional fee. It really did not make any sense to me and took me about an hour to get things straightened out. The representative told me he was being nice by not charging the additional fee, even though I shouldn't have had to pay it anyway. I feel like every single time I have had to use the toll, I end up paying much more than the original toll fee. How come I never receive a statement on time and why have I still never received an email from them (I check my junk mail frequently). If they aren't getting statements out to people, they should at least inform people about the the time frame they have to pay the bill before the late fees are charged. If you use the toll, just try to pay it immediately because you might not receive your bill until it's too late. BTW, they will send you to collections if you don't pay your bills on time, even if you haven't received a single bill, so just try to pay it immediately after using the tolls. I feel like I have been scammed by these people on too many occasions. They really take advantage of people because they know that people are often too busy in life to go out of their way to make a payment without receiving a bill.
I m trying to hold Meneger for two week, and no any response, (I m try to ask him little bit help on my late fees) only I hear is we will reach you with in 48 hrs, really poor customer service, !!!
The road was fine, as I recall it. Actually, seemed like most other roads, nothing special. Just got a bill, though, about seven weeks after driving (at which time we had no idea that there was a toll for driving on the road) for $33.90. Pickup truck with small popup camper (8 foot long). That's a really hefty bill, almost a dollar a mile? In Massachusetts, we have toll roads too, but the cost might be about $5 for 150 miles, maybe a little more. And we get paid attendants as well. Not that I'm particularly attached to or fond of having a paid attendant. It seems like automation might result in lower operational costs and reduced tolls for users, which I would favor. But, here in Colorado, it seems that the result is the opposite. Why would a toll road in the middle of the prairie have to charge such a high toll? And, how is it possible that my wife and I would not have noticed that a toll was going to be charged? (I applaud the sentiment of other reviewers who suggest that the signage may not be all that clear). Of course, there will be those who will point out how stupid we are for missing the signs....
I too thought the letter was a scam until I called. Customer service was helpful, and they just had too much information (including pictures of us driving through toll points) for me to believe that it was a scam. I almost threw it out. Looks like one of those bills from the "Yellow Pages"....
Terrible all around. If I could post negative stars I would!!!! Moved to Colorado and registered my car at my current address in September. I never received a bill at my current address, or my previous address. I got a call in January saying that I received a collections notice from an attorneys office at my previous address. I called and tried to work it out with Express Toll and they were less than useless. They ran me in circles for three hours and never resolved anything. Express Toll is a complete scam, and from here on out I will be avoiding these tolls at all cost. Good luck to anyone dealing with them if you ever get caught in this trap.
This place is a scam. They charged me like 1.50 for a toll that I never received a bill for. Now all of the sudden, I get a notice in the mail to my correct address from a debt collector now asking for 27 dollars? So 25 dollar in fees for a 1.50 toll bill that I never received? So I called the help desk and come to find out that they have been sending me bills for months to an address that I dont even live at? Really really messed up. This place needs to be shut done for scamming people.
This highway sucks! Do not use it if you like keeping your own money. Like many people reviewing here, I NEVER received a bill even AFTER updating my mailing address with them by phone on multiple occasions! They are dishonest and apathetic and add late fees and other charges really quickly without you ever even knowing you incurred a charge! They will seek to bring you to a MVC hearing to revoke your registration if you do not pay them the tolls plus many extra fees within a year! I never signed an agreement with them, yet somehow they have the authority to charge me huge markups and never notify me about it.
My first time using the E470 toll, and I'm unable to pay by phone over the weekend because the hours on their website are wrong, along with the website itself. I tried multiple time over the last couple of days and not only is the website SUPER slow, it won't allow me to get past the screen where I enter my information. The page does not change after I enter my info, it happens even if I choose different options, whether it is to put in my statement ID, open an account, or put in my license plate info. All the pages don't go anywhere or process the info you entered. The biggest headache is I received the letter via snail mail and the bill is due today a whole $8.30, and now I will probably be charged a late fee of $5 because I'm unable to pay it by today, and have to wait until the call center is open during the week just to pay because the automated system is also worthless, it allows you to put in your info then tells you that their call center is closed and hangs up on you. This is by far the worst experience I've had with a website and business since AOL dial up was a service!
Not happy. One, I incurred a toll (one toll charge) which was turned over to collections within 4 weeks with late fees assessed and the collection agency contacting my parents, rather than calling me directly, regarding the overdue bill. Second, I just received a notification stating that I need to sign up for email statements by tomorrow or I will incur a $2 monthly fee. I haven't used E-470 since the episode with being turned over to collections nor have I used that road that often prior, meaning I am not a regular customer who should be receiving a monthly statement. The letter was dated this past Monday, April 30 and I didn't receive it until today.
Kept getting sent increasingly higher bills to my old address when I repeatedly called to confirm that my only active account was the one I prepaid $30 to. Turns out it was a toll for my temp license plate but it took 3 employees over the course of 10 months to figure this out. I ended up paying $65 for what should have been a $9 toll since an employee I spoke with 8 months earlier gave me the wrong information.
E-470 is fast, and easy, and outrageous. That it should sit largely empty because the tolls are so high while I-225 and I-70 are crowded illustrates that it discriminates in favor of the well off and therefore represents an abuse of the public trust.
(For those who have trouble posting reviews, you need to select a star rating before you can post. I spent 15minutes figuring this out.)
Please don't make an account with this company... Just don't use the road... I'm paying $100 every two weeks on their "discounted" tolls. If you go below threshold they charge you extra. Just don't.
Trying my best to pay this toll (apparently it's $14 to drive through Denver once), but the website is broken and won't load. Tried calling to pay but the automated message says the call center is closed even though I called during open hours.
They require a prepaid balance. You must always have $35 dollars in the "prepaid account", if you dip too low, they automatically charge you. The only way to stop this is to 1) No transponder 2)close your online account 3) use the bill number to pay with a single payment
WHAT A SCAM. Sure these roads are nicer and clear of most traffic, but I can see why people avoid them. I've heard statistics that it is the most expensive toll road per mile (I pay ~$0.50 a mile). I do not recommend taking it unless you absolutely have to. Even more so, do not create an online account.
My Father in Law got a bill in the mail from this company . The TRUCK that the plate number on the letter has not left his yard in 8 months and has never been in Colorado . We live in IOWA . When I questioned them and asked for an email pic of the car that did not pay the toll I was told " We can not do that . " They pulled up the offender and The plate number was not my Father in Law's plate . This place is a total scam . My Father in Law is a 75 yr old Veteran . I told them " If he gets another letter saying he owes money to them I will contact the U.S. Attorney's Office .
The absolute worst. Travelling out of the rental car places at the airport, gives you almost no warning before you are on the toll road. Once on, you can't get off without being tolled. The rental car companies want to charge you a ridiculous amount to rent a transponder, especially if you are not planning to stay in the Denver area. Then they will charge you the result of the toll + a $15 fee for administrative costs. You might as well hand them your money at the desk. We exited immediately from E470 and got tolled $2.75 + a $15 admin cost from Thrifty. This is literally and figuratively highway robbery. Put up some toll booths so that you have an option.
This whole system has been screwed up since the 80's - I worked on some of the planning mapping for the then CDOW . Do you know it costs more money to go from the north "portal" on I-25 to the south "portal" on I-25 than it does to take the turnpikes fro Chicago to Pittsburgh? And that when "T-REX" was underway, the TV news teams found E-470 to be no quicker than I-25 unless there was a long stoppage. Hmmmmm. Screwed again. First DIA, then E-470. Wonder what's next?
This is why you don't let private enterprise build roads and have the state owe them money in bond debt: the second most expensive toll road in the country, almost no one uses it so it doesn't ever improve traffic, and the road is complete trash compared to most of I-25. And now instead of EXPANDING I-25, they added a toll lane which actually hurts traffic because people have to cut across the traffic to get to a lane. And now our cops have to police that lane (and they aren't, they have enough to do)
Toll lanes are a scam. they dont fix anything... I'd rather my taxes go towards a 4 lane highway. Maybe we should just tax people more who haven't lived here for at least 5 years...
Most unprofessional customer service I ve ever dealt with in my entire life. Express toll never sent me an initial bill, only months after they were past due (tacking on late fee after late fee) representative was very illiterate, sounded like she was smacking gum in her mouth, and even swore while on the phone with me. They do not care about their customers. They made a mistake, but refused to fess up to it.
No problem with the road. Price is quite high for entry of 470, especially for minimal distances (whatever, its the cost of this type of infrastructure funding). The issue is the ability to pay, the website and if you pay by phone there is no confirmation, no receipt, nothing. No doubt one of many issues leading to poor documentation of on time payment - almost as if they make it difficult on purpose.
For the longest time they were sending me bills through the mail within a month pass by then they decide to send me a letter from their attorney the whole time I've been waiting for my bill to come through the mail but then they made me pay the late charge fee . This way I felt like I was tricked . I fare warning to everyone as soon as you use the lane pay them or they will make sure to take you to court.
I would have picked no stars but google wouldn't allow it. The E-470 is a racket business to take advantage of out of state people just trying to travel through. We weren't contacted about our toll charge until 2 years after the event. So an already exaggerated $10 charge was elevated to $80. We never received a single notice until a collections agency called us. The customer service is a bunch of bureaucratic people with no hearts. The signage for this road needs to be improved and they need to consider another method of payment the day of travel. They won't because its obvious that they profit more from this system they've created. I cannot properly express the contempt I have for this system and the people that work the customer service. The collection law firm that they send to is also the worst. They yelled at my wife, were sarcastic, not helpful, and deliberately hung up on me. How am I supposed to resolve anything over the phone if they just hang up on you when you are asking too many questions?? Or ones that they don't want to answer. From reading the other reviews it is obvious that this road has just turned into cash cow for the state of Colorado and they don't honestly care about the commuters or the people traveling the roads.
The electronic toll booth is convenient. But it left an out of state passenger like me a bit confused on when and how I will be billed. I glanced E470 website and probably missed any important info, but it would be good to have info on 'how the toll will be collected' clearly on greeting page of E470 website. I called E470 and got some info. Thanks
My car was stolen and the people who stole it used e470 a couple times. The agent told me I am still legally obligated to pay. The scary part is they still have my license plates out there somewhere. According to the agent, they can keep racking up charges and I still am supposed to pay even though there is nothing I can do about it.
Was in colorado visiting and did not see nor pass through any toll gates or signage which would lead one to believe they are on a toll road. Received a notice that my vehicle was being charged for a toll. Disappointing they don't make this clear when traveling through a toll corridor.
Totally fraudulent and they create add up charges by not delivering bills. I also had updated my address and they sent it to the wrong one and charged me for late fees. They claim they send bills, you never get them and all of the sudden a letter shows up from an attorney now claiming you are "late" with fees. And the law protects them that they "sent" the bill but no proof that they have done so. But they are happy to "waive the fees" if you sign up for their ongoing toll service whether you need it or not. Hmmm... guess they have found their ways to coerce people into their ongoing service. Total scam and it happened twice.
This is a complete scam!! How is someone from out of state supposed to know that the road is an electronic toll road. I didn't even know there was such a thing!!!! We saw the signs saying we were entering a toll road and diligently watched for the toll booths. They were all CLOSED and barricaded!! THEN I get a huge charge on my credit card for the outrageous toll rates AND a fee from the rental company. Total BS. I call the rental company and am told to call PlayPass. I call PlayPass and am told to call Express Toll. I call Express Toll and they tell me there is nothing they can do and to call the rental company. AVOID E-470!!!!!
I am not sure about all the issues that people are having, but I have been a customer for years, and have not had a single issue.
When I call customer service, they have always been friendly, and helpful... This last time, 12/26/17, I called them from Portugal, because the website was unreachable from here. I had an expense report to submit, and needed all my tolls from 12/1 - 12/26.
Although my phone connection was AWEFUL, and the call ultimately dropped, the agent got enough information to send out exactly what I needed, in less than 2 minutes!
If everyone there really doesn't care, as many of the reviews state, then none of my dozen other prior experiences make sense either. I've had great experiences time and again. My account is auto drafted when my balance gets below a certain amount, and anytime I have had a dispute, it was quickly and politely resolved.
So, although I cannot speak for everyone, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all of you at ExpressToll, who answer the phone promptly, are polite, knowledgeable, and follow through on what you say you will do. Happy Holidays!
My wife paid her toll in full well ahead of the due date. However, due to the way ExpressToll and their partner firm process billing, we were assessed a late fee. ExpressToll sent what they believed to be non-payment to a collection agency. Then, once the situation was cleared up, ExpressToll said they cannot do anything to rescind the collection request and still required late payment due to their internal constraints.
In short, we paid on time, yet still had to pay late fees and have a past due/collection on our credit history!!! AMAZINGLY poor business practices by ExpressToll.
THESE ARE BUNCH OF CROOKS !!! Lies about transponder, ended up paying a lot for it. Once cancelled, they make you drive all the way to their head quarter to return it, and it's in the middle of nowhere. Please stay away !
I looked on the map and did see that the route I was going to take was a toll road. No big deal, the big deal was there wasn't any toll booths to pay so I figured that if I didn't get off at an exit there wasn't a charge. WRONG! I got a bill in the mail a few weeks after we visited Denver for $3.85. What a Joke! I would have just paid the thing on the road like every other normal toll road in America. You need to do a better job of warning people about this crap. Next time I will just take a different route.
Fix your website. How long is it going to be slow. Currently it s useless. I ve been seeing the warning notice for months now. I sold a car and want to remove it but I can t because of your useless website. 2/21/18 I recently used the site and finally they fixed it.
I was super confused on my bill dating back to 2018 and only hearing of it in 2020, I tried paying online and was on the website it continuously kept saying that my account/bill was not on record, the next day I was worried with reading all the reviews to call but I had no choice, and I was so shocked at how great the customer service was, they informed me that on the DMV side they had been giving them the incorrect address and that it was only now that they could reach us, and due to that my bill was no longer 200, but the original 38 dollars, without hesitation they were able to clear it up with no issues! Thank y all!
Are there any lawyers that want a good class action? Perhaps they can't be sued or it probably would have been done already. They managed to turn a $1 toll into a $51 fine because they say they sent statements that I never received. I had moved and sold my car so I didn't update my address. They said they sent me statements for all this time but why didn't these notices get forwarded to my new address by the USPS?!? Why didn't they check my driver's license for my new address or call me after a few attempts? The collections agency that they hired were able to easily find me and I responded immediately. I am sure they don't want to fix this system because it makes them a lot more $$$. It seems like a lot of other people have had the same experience with unethical collection practices.
They will not send bills until there is a late fee in order to scam more money out of you. Was told this is because the online account has the wrong address, it does not.
Other people complaining of odd security issues like receiving virus ridding emails from this company, is not surprising. I'm able to login to my account (and presumably anyone else's) without a username or password!
Stay away from this road. Hopefully they will get a crippling class action and government takeover soon.
Exceptionally disappointed by this company and the way they treat people. A few months ago I sent an email to them asking for help in paying a fee that I discovered while helping my parents. I fully acknowledged that I was at fault for the fees when I accidently used the toll road while going to the airport. Since I was away at college I had no idea that they had been sending collection letters to my parent's house. $17 in fees turned into over $450. I asked if there was anything I could do to start paying back the fees. A week passed and I received a response informing me that I was charged another $100 in fees and they kindly reminded me when the toll occurred and that I needed to pay immediately. They had completely ignored me. You're not treated as a person by this company. You're just a source of revenue and nothing more.
My wife and I flew to Denver to buy a car and drove on this toll road unknowingly. It must have been poorly marked or signage difficult to see while in rush hour traffic. Received bills in the mail months later and ignored them as they just looked like typical junk mail and was not aware I had driven on a toll road in Colorado. This road is a scam. Avoid if possible. Not going to pay....
This is predatory in nature. It is 100% your fault if you have issues but you really have to stay on top of it or they just thrash you. Such a stringent contract to enter just by taking an exit.
Good luck out there. Pay your bill as soon as you get it.
I have never experienced such a pathetic payment system. I literally spent nearly half an hour attempting to pay for my tour of $4.30. When I tried online I didn t have the account number required. When I tried by phone it took no less than eight attempts for the system to understand my credit card information. I m simply not going to take Highway 470 again.
NEVER received a bill, then suddenly you owe a lot. Also, if you sign up to get an account and a tiny, tiny discount, they take an amount out of your into into theirs BEFORE you owe anything. That's money they get to earn interest on, instead of you.
Very, very shady - and what happens when you let private for-profit businesses take over what SHOULD be public commons.
This is more of an FYI and may be basic knowledge for the people that live in the Denver area but for people that don t know when you see the signs in the freeway that say HOV 3+ Free DONT DO IT!! It is only free if you have an account and a tracker sticker in your car. It is not free for just any HOV 3+ but only members with express toll AND that have 3 people in the car. Every other state I ve been to has never been this shady in advertisement.
I have only had to call the support team 2 times over the past 7+ years I've been a customer, but both interactions were so productive. The people that I worked with were friendly and efficient - able to solve my issues in a couple of minutes and helping me to get the best rates on my existing toll bills. Thank you for providing exemplary service and for making this item on my to-do list an easy one to check off!
The prices are high but working two job this saves me about 20 min off my commute and when i'm traveling from elizabeth to wads and bowls every day and have three dogs 20 min is a lot of time i just need to figure out how to get an ez pass and to know if it is good in multiple states. You all have a poor man discount?
Electronic tolling is new to me. Expensive, although regular travelers in the area say it's worth it for the quality. As a tourist, I wouldn't know the difference. Warning to anyone with a rental vehicle, not only will you get e-billed for the toll but your rental company will charge you for not paying a toll in their vehicle. Like many other unsuspecting out of towners, we were okay with being on a tollway. But when you then don't ever come across a tollbooth to pay the toll in person and your rental company has no choice but to pay someone to administrate the transfer of charges into your name instead of theirs, it seems there's a catch in the system that needs to be fixed.
Was vacationing in Loveland. Gps routed on e-470 to get to the airport. Did see some signs about the toll ahead ( but must say that the signs are very poor and without prior knowledge will be confusing and infuriating when getting the bill in mail). Was prepped to pay with cash, since the car was a rental. Ended up a little confused as to why there were no booths to actually pay it (the sings werent clear about the bill in mail). Was a little surprised by the amount that was charged.
I do live in NYC and have a car here and i know all about outrageous tolls (getting into Manhattan will run you 13+ bucks), but the difference is that the reason its so high here is that they want to discourage people from driving onto the island to alleviate traffic congestion. I would think that it would be the opposite there - try to encourage people to use the ring-road rather than congest city center. Doesnt seem like that was done with the population in mind. Stinks of moneygrabbing.
TLDR: was meh. wont do it again. feels like i am being robbed...gently...
I spend thousand with express toll, we have three cars and it is not cheap. I bought a new car, for the four months before I got my plates my bill was paid with the discount for having an account. When my plates finally arrived and I put them on my car, it went to a new account with no discount. I called and they would not give me the discounted rate because plates were not updated. They would not work with me. Super frustrating and terrible customer service. It has nothing to do with not paying my bill we pay almost $1000 each month for all of our company cars as well.
Used only 3 times and get charged way over the 1.00 stated, so get a bill for $13.56, I would have been way better off being late to work than paying these exorbitant rates. Even Think I was carpooling on one of these trips and still get charged for it.
SNEAKY SCAMMERS THAT WILL TURN A $1.50 CHARGE INTO $750. A one time charge of $1.50 has turned into over a $700 late feet charge. I NOW HAVE MY LAWERS TAKING THEM TO COURT!!! There needs to be a cap on the late charges. See you in court next month.
This business, sadly, seem unethical and pursues fraudulent billing activities. We have been sent to collections for a "toll" that we accrued unknowingly some time in August of 2020 in a visit to Colorado. We never received a second notice and were sent to collections within a month of the first notice. I don't understand why this business is allowed to operate in the great state of Colorado.
Went to renew my vehicle registration and was informed that there was a hold from Express Tolls. I was told that, even though I set up an Express Tolls account, it was only debiting my card from the date the account was opened. The old statements were still being sent to an old address, even though the address was updated with USPS AND the DMV for over a year. Steven #77 was able to remove one of the late charges but the bill still totaled over $85. Seems like this is a common problem. Highly disappointing.
Beware of policies and additional charges. My husband used this road a couple of times in the midst of us selling our home, moving to a rental, and then relocating 2000 miles from our original address. By the time the statements got to us, they had added on several late fees, which we paid. Then they conveniently posted a "collection" fee the day before the got our payment. It's a $20 fee that they refused to budge on. I find it highly unlikely that it took 9 days for them to get my payment, and the truly ironic part is that we never received a bill for this additional fee it just showed up after we had some new charges a couple of months later. They are cons and have no sympathy when it comes to timeframes and how long this can take when you're an out of state traveler. It's really quite sad that they are this desparate for money.
Very predatory business practices. They will also fail to update your home address based on vehicle registration so expect your bills to be sent to old locations. They will then load you up with late fees since that's the best way for E-470 to be profitable based on their CFO/Finance team.
I used the road frequently for business travel. Bills stopped coming to my house, I didn't notice because I am a normal busy human being. Suddenly get a bill in the mail for almost $200 for $60 in tolls. This is literally highway robbery.
They don't have my correct address and have gotten returned mail for the last two years. They are dumb enough to continue to accrue fees and charges when I never received their bills. I am not paying fees and charges because they're stupid!!
Only reason they get 1 start is because I can't give a 0 (ZERO). Operator hung up on me, Erin #65...not helpful at all. On top of this, they sent the bill to the WRONG address and expected me to pay late fees once my post office realized their mistake. NOPE. Not paying at all, their $3.55 toll bill turned into $29...seems like a money scam to me! Sorry, being from out of state and hitting a cashless toll that gets billed and sent to a wrong address, NOT something I'm going to pay! SCAM - MONEY GRAB! Called back - David #102 was much more helpful and removed the $5 late fee but could provide nothing else w/o me being the one to jump through a bunch of hoops! BS, over a $3.55 charge. SCAM!
Even though the North I-25 express lanes still talk about HOV, there is no free HOV lane. They will charge you. They should have notified EVERY vehicle owner in CO
They need to be investigated for unlawful practices. They do not allow you to make payments, all or nothing. The bill was high and I intended to pay it, then the worst thing happened, car died. Transmission shot, so there goes the money to pay them.... long story short they keep jacking up the bill higher and higher, and will not allow a payment plan to get the charges lower, i received a letter that now I can not renew my plates. Is there actions criminal, I don't know but they do not operate in the best interest of the consumer.
Created an account 3 years ago, my balance was never been charged but received violation every time I use this tolls. Called the customer service couple times to pay the bills earlier without violations or statements, and they said there s no records that I used tolls before. And now I guess another violation of $70 is mailing to my place...
These people are con artists. They send the bills to the wrong address, even if they had previously sent you one that is correct. I accidentally overpaid, and they don't even acknowledge requests for refunds.
The highway robbery presented here will keep me from visiting Denver again. The roads in Denver are horrible enough to almost keep me away alone, but holding me to a debt for using E470 is outright un-American. I never agreed to this charge, and upon asking for some documentation showing that I legally owe this debt the whole thing was sent to a shady collection agency.
there website is garbage they need a major update. unless they are just trying to make money by "you need to make another account and pay 35 initial fee" either way i would rate them lower than a one if i could.
Tried talking to customers service about a toll which I was charged for E470 Plaza C,D, E North, tried to ask why was I charged for a toll I didn't know about while traveling, and was toll I need to pay it. But if you are traveling at night then sometime you miss the sigh or don't see them. Customer service are really rude. My thing is I used one lane and was charged for three lanes REALLY
Poor organization. They continue to make errors on the vehicles on my account which results in a paper work headache and additional charges for me. Horrible customer service.
Sold a car. New owner drove it and used $16 balance and somehow acrued $10 over the balance, putting the account negative. Do they have a policy for situations like this, for real human beings? Nope. When I saw the Google rating I was not surprised and decided to add my vote since I totally agree.
The only reason I gave it one star us because zero stars is not an option. These toll roads are nothing more than extortion on the colorado people. They should be shut down for shady business tactics.
Whenever I call to update my account information or to address billing discrepancies, the E-470 customer service people are always very polite, friendly, and most of all knowledgeable. I have always been able to get my problems fixed on the first phone call. Although I'm not a fan of Toll Roads, the E-470 organization does a very good job of maintaining the road and collecting the tolls.
I wouldnt trust the 5-Star ratings, they are most likely employees or trolls.
2 stars is accurate for this road. The biggest points to make is the high price point which adds up quickly (avg. $2 every gate) tied to the poor driving habits (described below) and lack of enforcement on this road.
poor habits include: - left lane riders. They believe it's empty for them to take and use at their leisure, going well under the suggest speed, blocking you from passing the truck on the right, who in fact can not go 75 for good reason. This will continue for 8 miles as you wonder "why isn't there a Keep Right Except to Pass sign anywhere?", not that these people will actually care, but it would help for starters. This is unacceptable, especially if you are PAYING to use an "express" service.
- enforcement is an issue. I do see State Troopers every now and again around the DIA exit, but I do not see them anywhere else. Furthermore, if I do see them, they are powerless to dis-encourage left lane riders. Ive seen 3 accidents on E-470 in the 2 years I've been using it. All 3 have involved a slower driver blocking the left lane, turning the passing vehicles (who otherwise were not aggressive) into being forced to be aggressive to avoid straight ramming the idiot off the road (slow driver just going to the left lane for no reason at all, randomly, and watching the car passing me *not excessively fast* having to slam on his breaks and getting rear ended because of the sudden slowing of pace.)
This road is plagued with clueless drivers most times and I can't justify a $60 bill every month for the service because of it.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I just received a letter in the mail from Linebarger Goggan Blair and Sampson LLP saying that I owe $45.70. I am from out of town and have never in my life heard of a toll-less toll booth and I NEVER received a bill for what I owed. So now I am apparently being charged a $20 collection charge. I don't even know what the original charge was because it doesn't show on this letter. Surely it wasn't $25 to go on a toll that I was on for like 10 minutes?!? This looks like a complete scam to me.
