It's sad to see so many people have had poor experiences with customer service. I have also received several bills with late fees without receiving a bill prior, but customer service has ALWAYS been incredibly courteous on the phone. Everyone I have ever talked to has been super nice. We sold a car once and forgot to take the plates (Colorado is a you keep plates state - oops!) and got a toll bill from the new owners. Customer service explained how to go through the DMV to report the plates as stolen (this was about two months after we sold the car - plenty of time to change the plates, and we had contacted the new owners and asked them to remove them the very next day after selling when we realized we forgot to take them off.) Anyway, it was as easy as emailing a copy of the bill of sale, but the customer service rep went above and beyond to help me out with other steps to keep us legally safe. I've quite literally never had a bad phone experience. The missing star is only because the toll company screws up my billing all the time.
This place is border-line fraudulent. I've attempted to search my bill online for two years using my address and plate number and to this day I'm unable to locate my billing information. I called the toll-free number, as I finally received notification from collections, and they told me they were able to pull up my information through the same section of the website that I was using. Yet, I still cannot locate the bill on the website even after confirming I entered the same information as the representative... I receive the message: "An account could not be found with the information that was provided." I admit I should have called earlier - lesson learned - however why even have the option to pay online if your computer system is incapable of providing customers their bill.
Might be the least organized and worst set up toll system I've ever used. These people are crooks, and I can't believe they get away with what they do. Ended up paying twice the toll amount because they sent the bill to the wrong address, some place I've never even lived! Just another reason not to go to Denver.
I ve used express toll for many years. On the few occasions I ve needed help with my accounts, the customer service folks are extremely helpful and friendly. Hold times are minimal and resolutions are fast. Top notch team.
Awful lot of 1-star reviews because people are too unobservant to notice the signs that are literally posted everywhere. It warns you when you're getting on, as you're driving, and before you get off. It even tells you in dollars and cents how much the toll is at that exit. What did you think the pricing was for? I gave it 5 stars because the road is well-maintained, very fast and the highway authority even has roadside assistance trucks that seem to appear out of nowhere to help if you pull over. The drivers are friendly and helpful and get you moving again as fast as possible. The customer service people are very responsive when you call in with a question about your bill. When I got a paper notice because my new car hadn't gotten its transponder yet (which I ignored, thinking I had an account), they were quick to fix the problem, waive my late fees and get everything sorted out. The road is very fast and the speed limits are high. During rush hour, you can drive the entire E-470 circuit faster, a lot faster, than taking 36 and 25 from Boulder to the Tech Center. So bravo E-470 team, you make my Airport and Tech Center trips a delight compared to being stuck in the traffic and for that, I'm happy to pay the toll.
The costumer service people are the rudest people I have ever met. I tried to get them to reduce my bill for a vehicle that I haven't owned for over ten years. This has got to be the worst experience in my life. I will never use this road.
Seriously how many tolls are on this road? I let my parents use my car to drive from South Dakota to Denver to get my grandmother from the Airport. It's very likely they weren't aware they even drove on a toll road. Do you have to pay the toll to enter AND exit the highway? One charge at 9:11 on PLAZA E South and another 9 minutes later on PLAZA D South? Then the same thing going North 3 hours later, oh and it's $3.45 every time. This is ridiculous, after reading the other reviews I will pay to avoid the late fees and collections fees, which is just as ridiculous, but I don't want to suffer because of your bad business practice.
Your business is terrible and you should feel terrible, I guarantee the majority of your victims are from out of town. My recommendation is some better advertising for the E-470 roadway, at least give people the chance to choose a different route ahead of time.
I don't get the 1 star reviews. Every time I've worked with them I have always received excellent customer service and gotten exactly what I needed. I understand that the toll system can get expensive but it's well worth it. As others have pointed out E-470 is always in excellent shape and never has the traffic that one of the interstates does.
CHECK YOUR TOLL BILLS!!! I caught E-470 fraudulently charging me for tolls that I did not make.
I have a vehicle in my garage that has an E-470 sticker but has not left the garage in several months. On my last E-470 bill, I was charged 8 times for this vehicle. When I called the service center to inquire about it, they first told me that I was mistaken. After I asked for a copy of the toll camera photo for these alleged charges, the Rep immediately changed stories and told me one of my other vehicles transponders was not registering, so they just picked a transponder under my account and charged it. When I pressed for proof of this as well, the Rep stated she would send me an email. A few seconds later the email arrived with no information to her claim. When I told her that her email showed the exact same thing as my account on their website (with no mention of allocating the tolls to a different transponder) the Rep then just hung up one me.
I guess they can just apply charges to any transponder they see fit and don't think people are going to check their statements.
People, please check your statements. No telling how many people are receiving erroneous toll bills.

Nobody likes surprise bills I get it, but overall they were nice on the phone. Just need to stay on top of the bills etc. I think the biggest issue is they did away with the toll booths. That would resolve a lot of these issues where people are getting a bad experience via cameras.
The general lack of traffic is great but the signage is poor at best. Customer service can indicated that they are "sorry" that someone didn't see the signage and respond with a bunch of hot air about the signage being obvious and everywhere but the fact is that if you turn on the on-ramp and THEN realize it's a toll road from the MUCH better signage (compared to what's just before the on ramp) you're screwed. I recently got on a ramp to E-470 at night by accident and stopped before getting on the actual highway, trying to find a way off but there wasn't one. I got off at the next exit and detoured to another route. That was almost $4 for a mistake. There needs to be bigger, BRIGHTER signage before you actually get on the toll road so you can avoid it if you are not using a GPS that indicates it is indeed a toll road. I agree that the late fees are outrageous and the cost of the tolls is borderline robbery. The authority can claim that east coast tolls are cheaper due to being built earlier which is true, but stories of people (including local resident friends) paying $30 or more for a one way trip is absurd. You can drive through all of Ohio, all of Massachusetts and many other states and not pay even close to $30.
This should be a ZERO STAR. If you are a out of state person (I'm from Michigan) you are screwed. I don't care if there are toll roads, bridge tolls and other fees. But make it possible for a person to pay the toll.
IF you are going to collect a fee make it so the customer can pay the fee without a penalty. I paid a $20.00 penalty because I didn't pay the toll. I didn't pay the toll because there was no place to pay the toll.
Arapahoe County taxes its residents for this TOLL ROAD as part of its vehicle registration fees. And on top of that, the tolls for E-470 are ridiculously expensive. How a toll road can collect money from both tolls and taxes is beyond me.

I am writing to express my thanks and appreciation for the excellent customer service I was give by one of Express Tolls employees, Trish. Through several interactions on November 29 and November 30, Trish was courteous, patient, and very professional. To use an old military saying, Trish went beyond the call of duty to help me resolve a concern that I had regarding fees for unpaid tolls.
I am very happy with the way in which my concerns were resolved; however, even if there had been a different outcome (one less favorable for me), I would still be motivated to write this letter to express my thanks for Trish s superior customer service.
Such a commitment to great customer service is to be commended.
I realize it might be a little expensive but it is definitely convenient and they are always helpful at customer service dealing with my bill etc.
The website is down frequently, the search for toll activity is not accurate (you need to include additional days in the range to find the tolls for a specific day), the website design is too busy - Bottom line looks like a weak IT organization.
I wish that it cost less of course, but from where I live (way east of Aurora off Smoky Hill) it's the only viable option for timely and hassle free travel in and out of Denver. I suppose I could "go around" or use Gun Club to save some money but ultimately it's my choice to use it, and my time is worth the extra $. I appreciate the quality of maintenance on the road, and the snow removal is exceptional, especially compared to I-70, I-25, I-225 and Aurora municipal crews (don't get me started). I've had to use the Courtesy Patrol once after running out of gas a mile short of my exit, and they stopped to check on me after a blow-out on my trailer which was nice. I've never used the website so I can't comment on that, I prefer to call and talk to a real person - and it's been great every time. We have 6 vehicles and three trailers registered on the account, spend a TON every month on tolls, and aside from being expensive, it's been easy as can be from my perspective.
Avoid this trap if possible. This authority has joined the small town Barney Fife "gotch". At least with Barney Fife you can see the red lights. Thank god I never have to go to Colorado for the rest of my life.
I spoke with Janene who was helpful, and Jolene ( supervisor). They assisted me with an outstanding toll bill because I had a change of address and was not receiving bills. I am so thankful for them and they both deserve lots of praise.
Visited from out of state; they mailed the bills to the wrong address and then charged an extra $20 after questioning the timing. Bull!
What a ripoff. Poor signage taking advantage of people traveling from out of the area. Just take puctures of plates and pay all of our fees without warning. Unbelievable that this is legal.
We were traveling from out of state back in early September. Had no idea about the toll or fees. Got a bill in the mail for $17+ over a month later....it is November 2! I actually thought it was a scam letter. Luckily I researched and figured out the situation. I will however be turning over the practices to our attorney general so he can warn the people of our state to steer clear. Makes me not want to visit Denver again. I hope I don't have as much trouble getting the proof of use and paying as everyone else did. Traveler beware...stay away from E470. If you can't steer clear of it in Denver... DON'T VISIT DENVER.
They don't have the my correct address, customer service reps are morons. Tried to pay original toll of $10 and they won't waive the $100 in fees even though it's their error. I'm taking my plates off from now on when I'm driving around up there.

It took me a while to figure how to pay this toll, especially for rental car drivers. I am leaving a review so that other find correct review. If you call them (within week or so as early as possible, not after 30 days) and give them date(of your travel) and vehicle plate number they will process payment for you.
I still think it is headache to do all this but is lot better than getting $200 charged by rental company( because of their policy). So, if you act early ( especially out of state people) you will save lot of money. I have no idea how local people have been victim of this road so I will stay out of their side of story.
Unbelievable this scam has been going on for so long! Clearly everyone is experiencing the same shady practices. How many hundreds didn't receive a bill like me? I would OF COURSE pay a $3 bill for a toll. Who wouldn't? And then I magically don't receive a bill for over a year until the total has risen to $73? Wow okay. And they told me the same exact thing they've been saying to everyone for over 6 years that I can easily research online, "If you didn't receive your bill you can contact your mail service." I encourage everyone to file a complaint with the attorney general, this is ridiculous and has to stop. How many people just blindly pay the bill without double checking or researching? I almost did. But I thought, what could be so much (and of course no detailing on the bill, everything is blank besides the dollar amounts) and I call and upon further research find out it's a $3 toll from last year and that's all late fees! From a bill I never received... Unacceptable.
Crap system. Blocked my car registration without sending me an invoice. They don't send an invoice because "there must be a space before your address in the DMV system" and then when I finally get a statement and call to pay it, they say "oh you have a second statement here". I ask for verification - why on earth would there be 2 statements. I pay the ACTUAL statement (not the second on for someone else's car at another address) and they still haven't cleared my plates for renewal. If they aren't going to accept tolls when the road is driven, they need a better system than expecting people to "know" they didn't get a bill and then track down the people to pay. No other company gets away with that. Also, how is it legal for the state to take collection action on behalf of a private company? I wish I had the money to elevate to the courts system - I don't see how it can be constitutional.

DO NOT USE the far left lanes on I-25 or 36!!!! They are toll lanes & HOV doesn't really exist. Let me be clear - YOU CANNOT USE THE HOV LANES FOR HOV (and now 3+ passengers !!!) WITHOUT A SPECIAL TRANSPONDER!!!! Doesn't matter if you have 3 or more people, they will charge you. It isn't free UNLESS you BUY the special transponder. The signs are VERY misleading & I was looking specifically for the transponder answer. Even the electronic info board. From out of town/state - you are out of luck. Based on all these changes it seems like it's purposefully vague so they can make money - they'll only waive 1 "trip" if you call and complain. Absolutely ridiculous.
I arrived at the Denver Airport late in the evening and picked up my rental car at Alamo. Because I wasn't quite that familiar with the highways, I used my GPS to guide me to my hotel. The GPS routed me to an airport access road and not the main highway out of the airport. A month later I got a fine for not paying a toll charge leaving the airport. I saw no evidence of toll booths anywhere on the road I was on. It really is wrong that the car rental companies don't tell you to be aware that there is a toll to be paid leaving the airport. I think the state of Colorado should make it clear that there is a toll that has to be paid leaving the airport. I do a lot of traveling throughout the USA and I don't remember having to pay a dam toll to leave an airport. Colorado Toll Division! You Suck!!
Tried calling multiple times to ask if I could advertise on E-470's website and I got the run around every single time I called. Strange right? I want to give them money so that I could advertise on their website which would be another revenue source for them but they would never put me in touch with the correct person. Every single time I called no one would know what to do. I'm writing this review to help anyone else who would try and advertise on E-470's website so you don't waste your time. Glaring ineptitude.
These guys are crooks. I registered for a switchable transponder to use on the I-25 and US-36 express lanes, as well as the I-70 express lane in the mountains.
The transponder did not work, so they charged me $9 for a $5 toll in the mountains. After I called, they said they would get it all fixed to $5. Then I look to see two $5 charges on the same day for the mountain toll on my statement.
On top of that, now I find that they've charged my credit card for $27 for no reason with no warning. That's not acceptable.
If I could give negative stars, I would. Had the worst experience trying to order a replacement sticker. The woman I spoke with was so rude i ended the call with an insult to her. Admittedly, not my finest moment and I wonder if the replacement sticker will show up at all...
I was never in the Denver area at the dates an time you have that I was to have ran a toll I was home in bed I live in Mt. Vernon, Il. Have never been to denver. My car has been parked due to factory recall. Could you please correct this mistake. Thank you have a Blessed day in advance.
Guess they never tell you once you get on the ACTUAL TOLL ROAD. Never saw signs, never had to stop and pay anywhere yet I received two letters now saying that I was on this hwy somehow, even though I avoid it like the plaque because it's a RIP OFF. Thanks for the warm welcome Denver, you blow.

Terrible. Customer service seemed helpful over the phone, but once I opened up a ticket via email I was passed off between multiple reps and none of them were at all able to assist. I spent a lot of time gathering documents and crafting emails in order to clear heaps of late charges that were unbeknownst to me due to an address change, only to be stonewalled. Their only suggestion was to create an account to save $25... but opening an account COSTS $35! Awful, just awful.
I really enjoy this toll road. It is made so simple by not having to stop and have cash or whatever. I can drive seamlessly to and from the airport with so much less traffic and never any construction or delays. With in a few weeks I get my bill and can pay my tolls online. Such an awesome system of convenience. I have read the negative comments about this road, and I felt that some positive feedback was deserved. The road IS clearly marked. If rental companies do not take the time to inform their renters, then maybe they should be responsible and educate themselves about the roads they are going to be traveling on. In no way is that the fault of Express Toll.
Love it. E-470 is my favorite. I have always found it to be very clearly labeled and well maintained. Great road for an afternoon cruise.
Their system made a mistake and billed me when I've never been to Colorado before but I called and the customer service agent was pretty nice about the whole thing and got it figured out for me.

This place is scam. They charge you for crossing some intersections, you play more than the published price if you do not have an account. That price is not published and it DOES NOT state that that is member price only. I wish there was more we could do but it is a rip off to say the least.
I used the roadside service yesterday and the service was amazing! He was to me quickly, he was friendly and had me back on the road with my spare tire in no time!
Funny how they keep saying that the bills get sent to the registered address. We have been using the tolls for our trucking business and they still have not figured out how to e-mail me a statement let alone mail an invoice! I found 9 invoices on my online account, however, we have made 12 payments since July of 2016 (based on what they say I owe when I log in. Customer service tells me I have a bad e-mail but they will be happy to mail me the invoices and statements for a convenient $2.00 a month. Also, I keep our credit card online for the convenience of paying our bill, when I reconciled our bank account I saw that they take it out twice and then a few days later they put some back. Got the proof, just cant figure out exactly who to go to to show them.
It's a toll way. If you don't like t tolls you don't need to travel on them. For what it is, it's a quick, easy and convenient way to avoid heavy metro area traffic. I don't have a transponder as I'm not from the area but the easy license plate tolling was nice. Not having to worry about stopping at toll booths every few miles and then I can worry about the bill after I receive it in the mail. Thanks!
I have driven on E470 between DIA and Sheridan once on Christmas Eve. In the last 2 months, I have received 3 different bills for between $3 and $15 all of which I paid in a timely manner.
Today 2-22-16, I received ANOTHER bill for $3 for APPARENT use of my US36 on 1-02-16. Upon reading previous negative reviews, Billing cycles are supposedly turned around after a 30 day period. Why did I receive a bill for a toll road I did not drive on almost 2 months after my supposed use of the road?
I am reading all the reviews, I too am from out of town and I like many am surprised to find I incurred a fee driving from my rental car facility to the public road. Yes it was during a snow storm and yes it around 9:30pm in the dark, I was petrified of driving my first Snow Storm of the season on my way to Ft Carson Colorado to spend time with my son who was deploying in the next few weeks. So yes, perhaps I might have missed the notification, my apologies. It just seems like you answer to unsuspecting visitors to you fine City is a history about how wonderful the roads are and how remarkable your toll system is-you never really admit how unfriendly and almost suspiciously sneaky this seems in the manner that you treat visitors to your fine City. Now I am sure it is all on the up and up, but can you at least keep your minds open since so so many of us have stated the same issue that perhaps there is a problem that your fine City needs to resolve-or is it for he "fines" in the fine City of Denver,Colorado? Again, please be open to this feedback-Please don't thank me for my input or feedback-Just consider there may be a problem to resolve and discuss it with your Department of Transportation Secretary and your Secretary of Tourism-the Secretary of Tourism may have a different take on what is happening to your visitors. In fact, I will copy all of these messages and share with that Department in hopes there might be some relief.

PLAZA D E-470 sent me a bill of $3.4 and Plate pass $24.75 after 3 months of my travel to Denver. I used Hertz rental car from Airport , had no Idea of ever missing any toll. Do they have only automated toll plaza or they accept cash, feels cheated. Why the rental company don't warn customers of the toll plaza nearby. Hertz rep told me that to use the plate-pass I need to pull it out and leave it open. I never pulled it out as I knew they charges $25 even for a single use. Pathetic and gross cheating.
This is the WORST service for toll that I have ever experienced. I KEEP trying to pay toll by calling and going online (but wesite sucks because it doesn't work). I call them to pay for it and they said that "I'm good and the bill will be paid for the next cycle". It wasn't paid and now they sent me to collections. I've dealt with California, Tokyo, and Florida tolls and this is by far the worst service. They don't know how to run this company.
I'm really super annoyed how I get charged a $10 fee for this toll road that I don't use when I register or renew a registration on a car. I don't think it's right to charge me or anyone else for something that I/we don't use. I don't care how many billions you people spent on it, that's not my problem.

I have dealt with toll companies/states from New York and Jersey, to Houston, to LA. This one is by far my favorite. Not saying they are perfect, but I used a rental car and all I had to do was google express toll call them and I got an agent in less than a minute who knew exactly what to do. I can't speak for others bad experiences, but if you think this toll is bad try dealing with NJ Turnpike! As for the signage issues I Thought it was rather overbearing to see a sign every 3-4 miles that lists the prices for 2,3,4 axels, and they have a courtesy patrol for emergency assistance! It's a toll road not a customer service company we should keep our expectation in a proper perspective.
Ripoff! Received abill in the mail for 3x $4.65 charges totaling $13.95 dating from 03/31/2020 and 04/02/20 and I am sure I haven't used E470 PLAZA D S/N or E North on those two days after I tracked my timeline on Google Maps.. Funny thing is even when you think your not on it - guess what just got a bill it said Plaza E South and Plaza D South within 7 minutes apart. When I look on the map to try to figure out how I was even at those areas I couldn't actually tell exactly where they were. One last thing DO NOT pay one day late or your charged an extra $5. If you wait to pay it the next month they have already turned it over to an attorney and charged an additional $25 on top of everything else. This state has become so money hungry it has forced me after 55 years to want to get the heck out!! Thanks again you bunch of bureaucratic money grubbing idiots!
Your website has had a warning message for several weeks about website slow down. Are you planning on addressing this? You take the bulk of my expense account time to pull my toll activity; this is insane
I hate suprise bills. Should at least have a gate and a turn around option if you don't want to pay toll.
There should be weight restrictions on all roads so the roads don't get damage.
Engineers should be able to figure out the weight ratio, pounds per square inch, that is safe for the roads. So all main roads must have weight stations to enforce the weight restrict policy so roads don't get damaged.
Don't just fine people, but prevent the problem instead. If someone is fine for exceed the weight limit the damage is done, but if every vehicle that use the road is check for weight limit before use the roads then the roads are always safe.
Use pounds per square inch because all the weight are spread out on the tires. So weight stations have to weight each contact surface of the tires instead of the whole truck.

Somehow, it is impossible to find how to request a new transponder sticker for your car. No links to it from the Q&A explaining how easy it is to request one. And still don t know the point of the sticker when the license plate works and I m an express member
I do vaguely recall remembering toll signs but then never seeing any toll booths while i traveled through Colorado a couple months ago, i was shocked to get a bill for $27. I apparently went through 4 toll booths in under 20 minutes. While i do like the convenience of not having a toll booths, as an out-of-state driver from Michigan (where we do not have toll booths) this bill came as a shock. The customer service people on this website seem very friendly and supportive by telling us about their website but it is months later and I'm sure if i was looking up a website while i was driving i would be receiving another bill.
I concur, I remember seeing signs for toll roads. However, I do not remember seeings signs for no toll booths. This may be one of the many reasons people are frustrated with your system. I kept waiting to see a toll booth and never did, it was a nice new highway so I just thought you may have not finished them yet, etc I suggest big signs that also say "No Toll Booths." Maybe be a scenic overlook that gives visitors a description of all the benefits of toll less booth highways.
I have an express toll account and use the toll road occasionally when traveling, I don't live in Colorado so they don't make much of me. This month I get 17.70 in tolls for the same plaza all on days I can prove my vehicle was in WY and NE. I call to talk about the charges and am told since it scans the sticker the are no pictures to show what vehicle it was. They consider the charges are valid and they don't allow them to be disputed. Long story short I got the account for the discount and ended up paying more. If you have to use the road stick to license plate charges, once you are in their system they can charge whatever they want and you are on the hook.
I unfortunately didn't know I was entering an electronic toll road system as I left the Denver airport. Unfortunately, the rental car company DID NOT warn me or offer options when I rented the car. Once I returned home, I called the Express Toll number and TRIED TO PAY THE TOLLS BY USING THE LICENSE PLATE NUMBER of the vehicle that I rented. Unfortunately for me, they WOULD NOT ACCEPT ME GLADLY PAYING THE BILL. They indicated that the rental car company would have to pay the bill. Unfortunately for me, the rental car company MARKS UP THE BILL BY $125. Unfortunately for me, there must be some sort of public/private corruption going on in this Express Toll system that prevents me from PAYING MY BILL directly to the Express Toll system. I don't have ANY PROBLEMS paying the Express Toll bill. BUT I do have a problem being anally raped at a cost of an extra $125 by the corrupt system that is in place. Unfortunately for the state of Colorado and the particular rental car company that I used, I hope they have a good photo of my face as I drove through the electronic toll plazas because they will never see me or my family in the state of Colorado for as long as I am on this earth.
Again, I WANT TO PAY my bill. I have ALL of the information that is required to PAY MY BILL. The very helpful agent that I spoke to on the Express Toll line was professional and courteous and did see the actual toll charges posted, but the corrupt system will NOT TAKE MY MONEY, instead they prefer that I pay the ransom demands of the rental car company.
My family visits Colorado every few years and spends tens of thousands of dollars (airfare, two week condo rental, ski lift tickets, food, snowmobile rentals,.......) and likely generate a thousand or more dollars in direct taxes to the state each time we visit. They will lose that revenue for $4 in toll fees that THEY WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO GLADLY PAY.
I guess you can't fix stupid.
No communication about the toll or the costs, when you use a rental car they charge you an additional $4.95 per day. I just paid $30.00 in tolls and I used the road twice. This should be illegal! True 'highway robbery".

I just got a letter from the toll. 7 weeks after I was in Colorado. I was completely surprised because nowhere were there signs that's it's toll nor was there anywhere to pay a toll if there was one. I am from Wisconsin and how am I suppose to pay toll for a road I go one every 10 years? 10 years ago there was no such thing and nobody has said anything that there is a toll. In Illinois there are toll booths where you can pay, how did I know Colorado has stupid tolls without knowing having a way to pay for them? This is rediculous.
E 470 sent me ticket for 50 without proof I will never take it. It is slower than 225

I'm just so confused. I got a call from a law office with a claim towards me. I couldn't understand the law offices name but he said specifically this highway authority. Are you all so desperate for money you buy people's numbers and spam them? I drove through Colorado well over a year ago, I was driving from Massachusetts to Utah and I paid every toll in cash so you have nothing. Shame on you for spamming. Maybe the rest of us who have had the same experience with you should produce a new file against you. I would hope to expect better from a government authority.
Horrible customer service. I was charged for someone else's toll. Due to this my account went negative and my account was closed. Never sent warning letter or email warning of this. When I called- associate told me that once I pay my account from negative they will refund the incorrect tolls. I went ahead and did this. Only AFTER giving my credit card info did she say that she couldn't refund the incorrect tolls because it had been 31 days since the tolls were accrued and I only had 30 days to dispute charges. Promised a manager would call the next day. No one did. I remained polite through all of this- but was told that I was having a note marked on my chart that I "was so unhappy." I'm sure this counts against me now. What a ridiculous mess.
They say my credit card has expired. I have tried to update it several times but the automatic system says "We are experiencing system problems please try later." I would consider trying to reach a live person but screaming obscenities into the phone just isn't my style....
Just received my first bill that states I'm overdue and they are going to deactivate my account. What crappy admin. Makes me want to take public roads.
Web is shutdown,and most expensive charges in the world,customer service are horrible,if you don t be careful with the charges and you will never know how much you spend on the toll !
While vacationing in Colorado gps sent me on the toll road E470. Being from another state we thought there would be a booth like back home that we could pay...needs to be better signs due to the amount of vacationers that I'm sure Colorado sees. Didn't mind having to pay. Figuring get out how to was a head ache bc they were closed for the weekend. Will never take a toll road again. Didn't save us any time on our 9 hour drive back home.
Absolutely ridiculous, 22 dollars Just to get to the airport and back. Bunch of thieves.

I have always had good customer service and proper billing. I think that all of the negative remarks are from people who are not reading the Terms and Conditions or who don't follow the instructions. Never, ever have I had something wrong on my bill. I've been using E-470 for at least 16 years. (and using foul language doesn't speak highly of some of the complainers).
They actually have the nerve to name a group "Customer Service". Called to see if there was a way to pay for road use on new car with no plates. After talking to them and dealing with rude idiots, I'll just drive on their road and let them loose the fees I was willing to pay. No good deed goes unpunished!
Can't pay bill - website down, and they've taken the weekend off. Then why in the samhill have a due date on the weekend?
I have had so many transponder issues it is terrible. I requested a transponder and it got lost in the mail. So I requested a new transponder and it came but I found out a year later that it had not been assigned to my car somehow. They sent me a new one again so I hope this one works. Everyone at the service center was lovely and tried to help out the best they could. I'm just frustrated that there isn't a better system.
Monopoly with no interest in customer service. CDOT didn't included the voters with this decision.
Had wrong plate number found the number on the website. Would be nice to have it on the invoice for disputing. Representative was nice.
Just tried charging us for backdated charges from two years ago on a car we've never owned nor heard of that had plates from a state we've never lived in. Made sure to take my credit card first before disclosing details, so now I'm out $79 and her only response was that "well the DMV said it belonged to you at this address".. For a car we've never owned. Screw you ExpressToll. The road doesn't save me any time and causes nothing but issues after using.
C-470 Highway is great, but paying the tolls a nightmare. I closed my account with Express Toll Service Center in October because I moved out of state. I had a $62.00 credit on my account when I closed it. On December 1 (90 days later) I received the credit and on December 13 received an email confirming my account was closed and my balance due is $0. On December 12, a statement was generated stating I owed $15.05, $10.05 for tolls on 10/1/15 AND a $5.00 late fee. When I called to get this corrected, I was told Express Toll "owned" the road and I don't have to use it if I don't like it and implied they can do what they want. When I questioned this, the "customer service" representative hung up on me. I called back, to resolve this issue and although the second operator didn t hang up on me, he also implied they can do what they want and if I am upset about it, I am being rude. I agreed to pay the $10.05 charges from October 1 (which was already paid for from my account that had $62.00 credit) but refused to pay the late fee - which was adjusted.
I am paying this $10.05 for a second time purely to get these people off my back. The statement I received a week ago (generated the day before Express Toll sent the email that my account was closed and had a $0 balance) also threatened me with a $20 collection fee because the account was Past Due .
The road is great, but the organization and people regulating it believe they own it, and treat their "customers" with total disrespect and believe they are entitled to do so. Good luck!
I moved to this state, and had no idea I was about to get on a toll highway that you COULDN'T Pay at a booth, then and there. When I got off, no toll booth. I was shocked. I didn't know how in the world to pay. 6 months later, they sent me a collections notice--without ever sending me a bill. I was leasing a BMW, and the bills went to BMW, but MONTHs late. When BMW tried to get on the phone with the collections agency, because they wouldn't allow me to pay my own bill, they were rude to BMW and said they refused to talk to Customer Service at BMW, as they "didn't own the car" and they said they wanted to speak with Accounts Payable. WHAT A JOKE OF A COMPANY. They won't even hire anyone to sit at the toll booth to kindly collect to use highways the Federal Government should be providing us--not some private goofball setup that overcharges and has criminal collection practices.
If you have a rental car and don't get a electronic toll pass, you are screwed. I went through a toll (South) E-470 and the lady (Eileen #24) said they can't accept my payment and will bill the rental company. No way to pay what you owe...feels like a scam. Set up an account before you travel on CO roads to save LOTS of hassles.
All the people who gave it a one star just don t pay their bills on time. Sorry not sorry, I ve been driving on E470 for years and I ve never had a problem, keep your address up to date with DMV . And if you don t receive anything call them, email, or online ! Just because you didn t receive your electricity and or water bill does that mean you re not going to pay it? Stop making up excuses people! If you re forgetful create an account. Or simply stay off the road. Your GPS took you through E470? Disable the tolling option . This road is great ! :)
Got charged over 70 dollars for tolls I never went through, and never got any notifications I even owed anything until I got a collections notice in the mail. Almost the same exact thing happened two years ago.
I have had no spam calls or problems with this service. I even had a great customer service experience today. I had a previous toll bill that had accrued late fees added to my account at a discounted rate. It was a charge from the day before I signed up for my "tag" & it had been mailed to an old mailing address. The young woman who helped was understanding & kind.

A five dollar late fee on a 1.45 charge that was assessed while they were processing the 1.45 fee. Be prepared to wait a long time to actually talk to someone.
This is a scam. If you want to raise revenue, at least put some toll operators to work. I will avoid E-470 forever because of this scam. is this toll road even owned by CODOT? Or are they just enforcing these tolls for Chinese Corporation?
Mine used to be a 5 star rating, then my husband passed away and although I have sent the death certificate numerous times, They stated they have not received it. (This is only to change the account to my name so I can pay the tolls, because my card expired) Every time I have to look at that death certificate it is a knife through my heart. And then to scan it and send it in to customer service? I have sent it three times. All I want to do is change the card so I can pay for the tolls that are now building so that when I actually pay them its a huge gouge in my account. Thanks E470 for making the process so great for me! I didn't know so many people wanted to scam e470 by changing a card to make a payment, doesn't seem very profitable for them. But what to do I know?
There is no option to rate these criminals with zero stars... I received ZERO bills, then all of a sudden, I receive a notice that my toll bills had went to hearing. $305. I would have been happy to pay the original bills had I received any. I called customer service (read - absolute joke, who will do NOTHING to help you ) and offered to pay for all of the tolls I had accrued when I called; with the exception of their obscene, astronomical late fees. I was told that the best they could do is remove $100. This is absolutely criminal. I didn t accrue 1/4 of that in tolls. This is typical of how any government run organization does business, so I guess I shouldn t be too surprised. Don t worry, I won t be using your service or supporting your criminal organization ever again.
I remember having an issue with ExpressToll years ago and told myself I would never use these toll roads again. Well, recently I thought to myself that maybe after some years, their payment and billing system must have improved by now ( I should have looked at the google reviews first) so my husband and I used these roads to save on time when picking friends up from the airport. They first billed me for one of the two days we drove out to pick them up and this was paid via their website using our credit card. Now Express toll is billing me again (plus a late fee) for what I've already paid. They finally got around to billing me for the other day we drove out to the airport and this time I can't even make the payment online. Each time I enter the the statement ID # or try to enter the license plate and pull it up that way, nothing is found. Now we'll have to deal with the headache of calling them and getting this sorted out. What a pain. The 1.5 star out of 290 reviews says it all. It's certainly no lie that ExpressToll is terrible with these billing statements. Get it together!
