La Concha is a fantastic resort to stay at if you're looking for a beachfront property in San Juan. It's close to plenty of attractions and Old San Juan. The service is great and the cleanliness and overall pleasantness is spectacular.

A pretty good resort that isn't too far from the airport. It is right on the beach in the middle of the tourist area. The language barrier in San Juan was rarely a problem so do yourself a favor and venture out. I found items were much cheaper out on the community.

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay at La Concha restort for our 8th anniversary.

Upon arriving, a bell hop, Derek Karlovich, welcomed us and gave us excellent service. His knowledge of the surrounding city and his friendly demeanor made us feel immediately at home. It was like having a friend in a town where we didn't know anyone. The rest of La Concha's staff were equally as hospitible. The tour that we set up with the concierge of the Bio Bay was equally as impressive. We ate at all of La Concha's restaurants and they were impressive as well. Especially Perla. We dined here for our first night's dinner and were blown away.

On our third day, we booked a couple's massage at their sister property the Vanderblt. It was the highlight of our trip. 5 stars from start to finish. I definitely recommend that everyone book some so time here.

In memory of my friend German Leyva. He drowned at this beach 11-12-20. He was only 29 and loved traveling.
Making him the 5th person to drown since September 2020. Please do your research about rip currents and tides. No matter what your swimming skills are : no one is an exception here. You are to respect the ocean. Tourist beware. Swim at your own risk. If anyone saw something

This is a very nice hotel in San Juan, I stayed here for a week and the service, food and views were very good. The service always went above and beyond to help you, no matter what it was. The food was almost always good, and the restaurant Perla was very nice with excellent food. My room had a living room and a balcony with a partial view of the beach and I was very happy with the views and the cleanliness of the rooms. The room was also very big, with plenty of amenities if you wanted to make your own food in your kitchen.

The only thing I was shocked about was not having free breakfast for Gold and Platinum members since every other Renaissance offers that perk, however they did offer us 30% off.

Clean spacious rooms, beautiful ocean views, great pools and professional courteous staff. The gym is nice. Spa is across the street (Euforia). Nice neighborhood with plenty of great places to eat. Pinky's all day breakfast is awesome.

We just arrived from Airport. We are hungry and been waiting for 1 hour a room service to come with whatever. 53$.
Still not here. Calling reception takes forever someone to answer. Strong weed odor in the hotel, out by the pool, in the room through AC ? ?? Not sure where it comes from. Everything closes 9 p.m. curfew. Restaurants, bars, everything. Will keep you posted for the next days

La Concha is absolutely beautiful! The food is great, the location is perfect, and the resort's newer rooms are very nice. It's also very safe. I've stayed here twice, but following are where the issues lie. 1. The staff is hit or miss. You have some very courteous, professional employees. However, the majority are rude, lack customer service skills, and surprisingly have a sense of arrogance, which I find quite puzzling. The Management staff is extremely young, and lack experience in customer service. I had a problem with my hotel accommodations, and the front desk person escalated it to the Manager, Jose Melendez who quite frankly has no business in Management. He came out, and didn't allow me to finish explaining my issue. He instead tried to argue with me, but I'm sure he'll have a long impeccable career here. Quite honestly, not acceptable. BTW, don't assume status (titanium or platinum) will get you anywhere. Also, don't assume that your ocean front confirmation is guaranteed. They assign rooms based on other factors. 2. Don't stay here during holidays. It's chaos. We had to go to the front desk way too many times. We got locked out of room a couple of times during our stay. 3. The tour staff again is hit or miss. Lorraine was lovely, but the rest are a joke. They told us we were booked on a tour for first thing the following morning. We showed up at 8AM, and learned that our tour wasn't confirmed. Needless to say, all eight of us were a bit disgruntled. Instead of trying to appease us by perhaps offering a simple apology, she instead got extremely defensive and blamed us for the misunderstanding. Keep in mind, there were three of us talking to her the day before, but perhaps we all share the same comprehension skills. 4. They have a volleyball net that they put up every day, but don't expect to find a ball. We asked, and they sent us to the Front Desk. When we got there, they looked at us like we were crazy. Perhaps, they expect us to pack one in our suitcase, and bring one with us overseas. Why the daily resort charge if you are so ill prepared? The umbrella situation outside was another similar experience. The short of all this is to stay here at your own risk. It's definitely beautiful, but Marriott has to spend some time in Puerto Rico training their staff. I travel for work all the time, and have been to many hotels. This by far is one of the worst experiences I've had so far in over 10 years of visiting different Marriotts.

Can't tell you how well taken care of I felt from the time I walked on property. My best friend, Cliff Outlaw and I had come from Orlando Florida and through our travels have stayed in multiple beautiful hotels but this one takes the cake. Felix Perez on the Valet drive made me feel as he so eloquently put it, as "family" everytime we saw him. I wanted some authentic Puerto Rican food and couldn't believe when he took the time to personally escort us into a resteraunt right across the street which happened to be our little gem the entire trip starting our vacation off here in San Juan with a very large and memorable bang. The amenities are gorgeous, the food at the restaurants on site are to die for as well. I can't wait until next year when without any question we will staying here again.

I enjoyed my stay at La Concha! I was there for a wedding, and most of us stayed at the resort, so I saw a cross section of rooms. The suites were the nicest in my opinion. They were large and spacious, and if you had an ocean view it was AWESOME! I was on the street side of the building but it was still nice. The hotel location is close to Walgreens and CVS and many, many restaurants. The waffeletta next door was delicious for late breakfast, and the stop n go across the green space in the street had $5 mojitos! I was happy my entire vaca, so whatever the hotel lacks, you will find in the location. The pools were great with two infinity pools with ocean views. and another infinity pool that looks over the entire resort. It was very nice.

To be honest, the oceanfront suite did not impress me except the view. The room was beaten up and indeed needs update. Not a luxury suite but more like a super 8 room on the beach. Living room so dark and felt like basement. I would not recommend paying for the expensive suite. Not worth it. Guests in the pool were very loud and noisy throughout the day. Thanks god they left the pool at night. No greetings from front desk staff. Wifi barely worked and speed was ridiculously slow. I used points for redemption but still was charged 30 usd resort fee. Glad that I only stayed for one night. I still prefer Aloft San Juan although they do not have ocean. Returned to Aloft after checking out at this hotel.

Me and my family love this place, I visited a couple years ago when my daughter had ear issues and it was amazing, I really enjoyed my stay, except towards end of my stay. The hotel looked to be at its full capacity, and the hotel has an only adult pool, which was great except that all the pools were only adult. There were people all over the resort drunk and still drinking, people wearing very revealing swimsuits, I had brung my 2 children there, and I don t even want to know what they saw underwater. Not very kid-friendly but apart from that very good service and would recommend!

The WORSE experience ever!!! On February 2nd. 2021 to celebrate my friend's 60th birthday I booked at La Concha a room with an ocean view, double beds and in the tower portion of the hotel from Saturday March 13th. until Sunday March 21st. Received confirmation of my booking and the confirmation number. When I arrived at the hotel on March 13th. I was immediately told that the room I booked was not available and I will be given a room with a city view, one bed and one sofa bed. I told the receptionist that that was unacceptable and I wanted the room I booked and paid $4,138.97 for. After about an hour of wrangling with the receptionist I was told I will be given a room on the 4th. floor with on ocean view but with one bed and one sofa bed. After a long day of traveling I accepted it. When I tried to enter room 408 the key did not work so I had to go back down to the lobby to get another key. The horror then began, the room was filthy. there were pieces of dirty tape and dirty water marks all over the glass sliding doors. the room was directly over the loud music which vibrated throughout the room. I then went back down to the lobby to see the manager to complain. I manager arrived(I think his name was John
) he had a very aggressive attitude showed no compassion and then demanded to see the original booking order although I showed him the booking confirmation number. His attitude then was that he was waving the resort fee and I should be grateful for what I got. Disgusted with his attitude and the deplorable service at the hotel I decided to move out. I called the Royal Sonesta and the very friendly and compassionate receptionist over the phone confirmed for us a room with an ocean view, two double beds on the 14th. floor BEAUTIFUL. When you are in the hospitality business that's how you treat guests unlike La Concha.

This is an over due review.....we spend our Christmas vacation 2017 at La Concha in PR. We were worry about the services after Hurricane Maria but things work amazing. We had a great time at the hotel, the room were perfect, the personnel amazing, and PR was bright again :). I want to thanks several employees: Danisael - he worked with me in advance for our reservation for the NYE party and our daughter birthday. Danisael take care of us and all our family. He was supervising that everything were perfect.
Fernando - he took care of us at the pool area for our daugther s birthday and the service was impecable.
Ana- Front Desk I requested her to help me with the decoration and she was there on time and help us. Thanks to all of you and wishing a great year!! Hope we can go back this year...Thanks!

I m currently staying at the Concha for a New Years vacation with my kids. Sadly very disappointed. I was given a room that is extremely uncomfortable and noisy. The music and the sound of partying is unbearable. All night till early morning (5am). When booking this reservation it states comfortably fits 4 not true. The sofa pull out is extremely small definitely not a double more for like for a small child. When complaining to the front desk the front desk clerk she basically said there s nothing they can do about this. Wasn t helpful at all she sounded like a robot repeating a script probably given to her. I m booked to stay 8 nights and you would think they would be more understanding and accommodating. Unfortunately spent a lot of money to come to a nice vacation that has to be ruined because they don t know anything about customer service. ~A Hariprasad

From the moment we checked into this hotel it was a nightmare. We booked suites and when we arrived at the hotel we were told they were overbooked and they would upgrade us to a suite with a jacuzzi on the balcony(big deal). It took the front desk over an hour to try to pull up our reservation finally. When we went to the rooms they looked nothing like the pictures online and most definitely were not my idea of a suite. I guess they call them suites because they have a kitchen you won t use and a pull out couch. The beach is horrible, chairs are broken and run down. The crowd that this hotel attracts is not a good one. I cannot believe the amount of money they charge for this dump. I won t ever go back. The only reason I was staying here is because the Ritz is closed and I was told this was a fine alternative. Boy was I wrong.

We had the opportunity to briefly visit La Concha due to a delayed flight. The airline (United) put us up in a beautiful room overlooking the beach for an afternoon, and that was enough to leave a very positive impression of the resort. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The views and amenities were fantastic. We will be back for a full stay soon!

It was not the best experience for me. They kept locking me out of my suite. Then I had to go and waist time to go back down so I they could re program my room keys. You know how frustrating that was? It's not like I was paying $2.00 for my stay I paid a good chunk of $ to be having to go through this mission every time. The front desk would never answer the phone I called plenty of times and to no availability. So I had to go back down to front desk. It was a horrible experience. I also flew to Culebra from San Juan in a private plane to find out when I got to the Island that they had no Jeeps of scooters, or golf karts for rental. I was just crazy. Guess who wont be staying in the hotel ever again? That's right me!!!!
