Sales lied over the phone about not needing Intern...

Sales lied over the phone about not needing Internet to operate. When installer came he lied about Internet not being necessary. The one camera he left would not work of course. Both of them told me I could buy outside cameras. So I signed the contract which I found to be iron clad. When I called about the camera that came with contract they told me I had to have Internet. I ask about outside cameras and was told they would not be available until February. When I ask to get out of contract I was told that was not possible. The system works fine. I still haven't had anyone come and hook up the free camera.And, never was offered outside cameras to purchase. Thanks for this opportunity to vent. Jim

Vivint has turned into a poster child for an uneth...

Vivint has turned into a poster child for an unethical business in my mind. After my 5 year contract was up, I tried to end service. After 3 months and multiple calls and emails, getting told my service would be ended and money refunded, I now have been told there is a new contract that was signed when I moved. Now I hope they send this new contract I don't know anything about so I can go review it with a Lawyer.

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! MY Panel has been beeping since JUNE!!! After repeated attempts to repair my system.And multiple Missed VIVINT Tech appointments by VIVINT Tech's NOT showing Up and VIVINT NOT CALLING and repeated calls by me to NEW VIVINT service personnel to repair the BAD equipment and fix my issues with my VIVINT service. I decided to cancel my VIVINT service in September!! TO my surprise!! I was still getting CHARGED BY VIVINT to my account!! NOW after speaking to a VIVINT representative 12/05/2018 I'M told that I HAVE TO PAY MORE TO CANCEL THE VIVINT SERVICE THAT WAS CANCELED IN SEPTEMBER!!! Due to lack of service I HAVE called VIVINT multiple attempts to resolve my problems I.E. panel beeping since JUNE!!! and faulty sensors . After reading VIVINT customer complaints and the responses from VIVINT I am now considering to cancel my other VIVINT service due to the SEVERE lack of real customer service!! I am looking at COMPETITORS offers and service records to find that There is MUCH Better offers with much better service and Equipment and have multiple offers of free service for a year WITH NO CONTRACT very low monthly rates and NEW ALL wireless touch panel and video cameras smart phone enabled EQUIPMENT!!

I wish I could post 0 stars. The system works but the Customer Service sucks! Do not sign a contract. There is no way out. Seriously. Do NOt SIGN A COnTRACT with them!!! We haven't turned the system on for the past two years but were forced to keep paying the $49/month to finish out our contract. Infuriating customer service. I will never choose them again. RUN!

I could not award any stars to this company! I had to give it one in order for this to post. From the beginning I was promised all these wonderful things they could do and then after we signed the contract they come back and say our house is not equipped to install any of the products they advertise. So everything I wanted and what I signed up for I cannot have. That should have been assessed beforehand. I was promised it could be done. That was one of the big issues before signing because another company told me it couldn't be done. However, the salesperson promised that it could and he told us the other company did not have the technology that Vivant has and that's why they couldn't do it. All wrong! I want out of this contract. The customer service stinks. There is no communication between the salespeople, supervisors and staff that actually do the work. It would be great to hear from a supervisor to let me out of this because I will bad mouth this company any way I can until the end. They don't care about your or your safety, they just want the damn dollar. AARGH! Thank you for this platform to tell you how awful and misleading I think your company is. Maybe someone here will listen.

I am less than happy with Vivant. The technician that installed the system had let his smoke detector/co detector license expire, so he could not do that part of the installation. Someone else would be coming to do it, no one ever did. Also, one of the key selling points for us was being able to monitor the system from our phones. It worked at first, but continually fails to recognize us. I was able to fix this a few times, but it has become not worth the nuisance. Our previous alarm system alarmed, ( read siren) if the system was breached when we were in the house. The Vivant system only asks you to disarm in a voice that would not wake me if the house were entered in the middle of the night. If it weren't for the two year contract I would switch back to my previous server.

When I had Vivint at a previous home in I had no issues. After moving I suspended my service but they kept taking a monthly fee out of my account although that was corrected. I bought a new home in a new state and the problems began just getting the system installed. After some scheduling snafus a tech came and installed my system. I woke up the next morning to a very cold house. This is when I realized he didn't even check his work to make sure it had been done right! The thermostat wasn't even installed correctly and I had to get a local contractor to rewire it so I had heat but couldn't communicate with it via my cell phone. The motion detector wasn't communicating with the panel either. They sent a new detector and tried to walk me through installing it so it would communicate with the panel. After a few minutes I told the gentleman I was speaking wtih to send a tech out so it could be done, hopefully, correctly as well as getting the thermostat working correctly. The new tech showed up about a month later and all problems were solved. I give a 3 rating only because previously I had no issues. Any more problems and the rating will drop rapidly.

I received an email from my credit report that they ran a hard inquiry on my account I did not give them my promision or any information. I do not know haw they got my information but I did not give it to them. I would say a very scetchy company!!!!!

Do not ever sign a contract with this company. If I could give them a zero star rating I would. We signed up for security service with them. When we moved a few miles down the road we had the guys out to move equipment to the new house the installers told us that the transfer paperwork was a continuation of our old contract and it would not restart the terms. When we tried to cancel service at the end of 2 years we were told it did, in fact, renew us for a 2-year contract. We tried multiple times to cancel and were told astronomical fees and equipment costs. Eventually, we got sick of the monthly charges and negotiated a buy out price. Vivint continued our monthly billing for 3 months after we paid the buyout. I have now been on hold with them for 23 minutes trying to get our money back. Worst customer service I have ever seen. And I'm still on hold...
After an exhausting 44-minute phone call we were told they will not refund us for the first charge that came out after we canceled. They would refund the last two months. However, the refund would not be for the full amount. We were wrongly billed $75.77 each month and they would only refund $69.99 for each month. The billing representative could not give us a straight answer as to why we would not get a full refund for the amount of money they gave us. Completely fraudulent company. DO NOT EVER SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM. THEY ARE CROOKS.

I tried to upgrade my system with the new panel & the door bell camera,I did the transaction by phone since I'm currently customer I won't be paying the cost of the doorbell as long as I will be renewing for the next 5 years.The day came to install the equipment but the technician told us that we don't have a hard wire so he can't install the new equipment.I called the customer service & told them since the equipment was not installed I want the renewal for 5 years to disregard,but I was told they can not change that anymore since I agreed to that,it's legally binded. I was so upset the person just lower the years of my contract with them.And also I received a bill for the installation but when I called the person told me he will removed the bill but still got that bill.I hope one of these days Vivint can install the new panel & doorbell with camera to my place without any conditions.And please don't force your customer to a long contract.

We have had excellent service fron day 1 ! The rep was knowledgeable and friendly. Installation was a breeze and we were shown how to use all the features. When we did have an issue tech support was fast at adressing the issue and fixing it. My son settle the alarm off and the staff was great when dealing with the situation! He thought it was awesome to speak with a live person making sure he was ok. It's so convenient having everything at our finger tips and I feel very safe and confident that our home is protected while we are away.

I am satisfied with my Vivent security but not with the connection to my thermostat, which is always going haywire to one degree or another. When I call, I'm directed to take the thermostat apart and make adjustments. The last time, I had to call a local heating and air conditioning person to come, and he said I should NOT let allow Vivent people to have me fiddle with the thermostat. He said that if I'd done something wrong, it would have blown out an important part of the air conditioner and would have cost me a lot.

We have the home alarm system. We couldn't be more pleased. Their reaction time to an alarm and efforts to notify us are outstanding. The other returning from shopping I thought I turned off the alarm but apparently had not. And went about outdoor chores. After not reaching me via the panel or cell phone, they contacted my neighbor. Later in the day, I had an email notifying me of the alert and the list of actions they took. Another time after I had closed the garage door, it had blown open the door to the house. I was a half a block from the house and received a phone call from them. The smoke alarm has gone off more than once while cooking and producing a good amount of smoke. The glass breakage alarm is just as sensitive. I have to finish cleaning up the kitchen dishes before setting the alarm in the evening or the alarm is set off. While I could have them set the sensitivity lower, I like it just the way it is. We also have a water alarm in the basement. We don't have any other Vivant services, just the security system. We've had two other companies. Denver Burglar Alarm and they were wonderful. But they were purchased by another company and the service went down hill. We've had ADT and that was a waste of money. Never got any notices of alarms going off and I had returned home once to a screaming alarm. Once was enough for me to cancel their service. My daughter had the same issue twice with ADT. The customer service agents are usually quite helpful and provide what is needed. Only once did they fail to provide a new motion detector I needed before we left for an extended vacation. If I've had an unsatisfactory answer or didn't get the help I needed I just called back a few hours later. I'd recommend Vivant without any reservation for home security.

I wish there was a way to do a minus stars because your customer service department is a joke. My husband called and cancelled our service the first of Oct and he was told I would have to call and cancel because the account was in my name. I promptly called and was told I would have to sign a request so they faxed it to me and it was sent back the same day. I had the monthly payment pulled from my account in Oct and again in November. I called and discussed this with them and was told I did not call in like they told my husband I needed to. I asked them to look at the notes in my file and they said that I did call that same day but that I did not fill out and send them the paper I had to sign. Again, I asked them to look at the notes in the file. They said yes that they had received the signed request the same day as both phone calls but that I would have to talk to their other department and this department is conveniently closed. I would have to call back. I called them back again in December and talked to each department as instructed, they assured me that I would be receiving a refund in 10 to 12 days and assured me that they are all "trained" in handling this matter. Six days later the monthly bill was once again taken from my account. I called today and was told that they are "trained" in this matter but I would have to talk to another department and they are closed so I will have to call back on Thursday. I asked to talk to a supervisor who is also "trained" in this matter. What a joke. I have been off contract and on a month to month for a very long time so this can't be the problem. I asked the supervisor to have his office call me but I was told there is no way the system can relay that message to the department involved. VIVINT will never be my choice for security!!! I can only hope they will stop charging me and return my payments soon.

I too am surprised at some of the negative reviews since Vivint is a great security company and has been very professional in all my dealings with them. My system is on cellular and works like a charm.

had nothing but issues between the door panel and app on my phone. When I signed up for it I told the guy I was moving in 2 years. Apparently I didn't pay attention to what i was signing because when i Moved out 2 years later i was then told i had a 42 month contract. I have now been paying for a year and a half for security in a house i haven't been living in. So lesson learned read contracts or give the person who moves into your sold house a nice 60$ month security system that they don't use.

I am speaking solely about their Health Center here, though I am sure that the rest of the company is awesome.

This is a great place to play basketball. The facilities staff is really good and helps us out when we book the gym. When we play, it is early in the morning and the security officer there is very professional and cool with us. He communicates any issues to us and asks that we keep the facility secure and that we clean up after ourselves. That is more than fair. It goes to show that Vivint hires solid people in all positions.

My equipment constantly malfunctioned, I was charged ever single time they had to come fix it even tho it was old and outdated. Worst company I ve ever delt with. Not recommended. Vivint is overpriced and they lock you into a 5-year contract that you can't get out of. They also charge you $99 if you want to remove a feature,which is apparently hidden in the small print (still haven't found it). We also had to pay a $75 fine due to false alarms because they only call one number, even though we have my wife and Mom's numbers on the account as backup. Really looking forward to cancelling at the end of my contract.

Recently had a vivint system installed in my home. The technician was thorough and professional. Did an amazing job of installing the system.

The out door cameras have been my favorite feature of the system so far. I love being able to see who is coming and going from my house at any time.

I love that it integrates with google products, such as the Nest thermostat.

The value of the system outweighs the pricing. Would absolutely recommend the system.

The technician that have come to the homes have been very professional and knowledgeable about their systems but after that my experience with Vivint has not been good. I would not recommend them and plan on changing to another provider when my contract is up.

I would like to start by saying how much I actually like the system. The software is really easy to use. Users can be added and removed quite easily, push notifications can be adjusted to your needs, among many other things. The system just works. My issue is the salesman and his lack of clarity, transparency, and respect. I've had at&t digital life for three years now and when he found out he said they would replace my system for free matching then upgrading my system. I got digital life the same way, I was put on a two year contract and all equipment and installation was free. My monthly bill was always the same, it never changed once. As soon as I said I would try Vivint out, that's when it was revealed to me that almost half of my monthly bill would be to pay for the equipment, doesn't sound free to me. I was quoted $77 and it ended at $82 and change. He told me that with every upgrade I wanted he would need a reference (a phone number) but in reality he would add a few dollars to my monthly bill. If your equipment isn't free then don't say it is. He told me that after our contract ended it would drop to $50 a month. I asked how long our contract would be and he said 3-5 years, as far as contracts go that's a huge difference. I still don't know how long it would be. Since it was a high pressure approach, even though he kept reassuring me it wasn't, I asked him what the trial period was and he replied a week, with some uncertainty. Turns out it's only three days. I mainly asked that question because I normally take my time to weigh my options before fully committing. So I was interested but I had plans with my family that night and I let him know this but instead of respecting my plans he set up the install for that night. This meant that not only did we not do what we had planned but we had someone from Vivint in our house from the moment I came home 6:30 until 10:30 at night. Not very neighborly considering my son had school the next day. The installers were awesome, Jessica and Jeff did a great job. I decided to cancel the subscription, it was a tough decision because as I said the system is actually quite good but the lack of respect and lies just digs at me. Side note: he never asked me for the references.

My parents purchased your services to protect my grandmothers house. My grandmother passed away and my father inherited the property. Due to the location of the home, they realized the need for an alarm system. They have since sold the home because it was too hard for them to continue to pay for a home no one was living in. It also made it difficult to grieve. They are now having to pay for YOUR services due to your lack of compassion and sympathy for a grieving family. Why can t you let them cancel without repercussions? This is by far the worst part of my grandmothers death. Every time they receive an alert, they are reminded of her passing. Now it makes sense on why you would remove reviews. I m interested in receiving your feedback. If you truly are a reputable company then you will respond with more than just well they signed a contract. Put yourself in their shoes. Would you want to be constantly reminded of your parents passing or are your hearts so cold that making a dollar is means more to you than the thoughts and feelings of your customers. Just so you know, they currently have your services on their personal home.

I will never give Vivint a try it was that bad of an experience and what sad is they don t care to retain their customers. They need to work on sharpening their acknowledgements towards people.

Purchased Vivint April 2019. I have glass break & motion sensors in the house. Doorbell camera. Garage door control. Thermostat control. I've had several false alarms. I have had issues with my doorbell camera. Repeated issues with the garage door controller. When I call Vivint I have to plan for an hour on the phone. Half of the time the problem does not get resolved to my satisfaction. Customer service says they will call me back. They don't. They're always polite but most of the time poorly trained to help with technical problems. Really quite terrible. Most recently the garage door controllers in both of my cars stopped functioning at the same time. They've been working fine since my system was installed. After an hour on the phone with Vivint I am told the controllers in my vehicles aren't supposed to be used for garage door control and that I should only be using my phone app or the Vivint control panel or the button inside my garage. Unfortunately I have purchased the Vivint equipment and they won't give a refund. I want to get rid of Vivint and I can drop their service, but then I'm stuck with their equipment. Such a bad situation!!!

When I bought the system I was told I did not have to have internet for the system to work and the account supervisor tells me last night that supposedly it's in the contract that I sign when the salesperson Mitchell came to sell me the system at my house he said I did not have to have internet for this system I've never had internet when the system was put in if I was supposed to have internet then the system should have never been put in in the first place because that is just a scam when I moved in October that I started having problems with it going off and not registering the doorbell it would say it would be offline for days and I would have to restart the system and it would pick it back up I had to call somebody to come out and they replace the doorbell because it wasn't registering with the system then I had to call again because the doorbell wasn't registering with the system and a lady walked me through reprogramming the doorbell to my system but I'm still having problems when people come to my door and ring the doorbell the system won't let me know who's at the door and that's why I got the system for security to see who's knocking on my door in the panel and I'm just not happy with it it's a pain it's not worth my money and I want to cancel my contract and I want y'all to come and take the system out of my house. I want a full refund of the equipment price and cancel my 5-year contract.

Our service with your Company has performed pretty well. The installer was excellent. The sales force was somewhat "High Pressure", Maybe they were just hungry. The response has been OK.
Now for the bad stuff. Your people wanted a credit card # for some of the initial fees. They wrote the number down in their book. We have been working with the Credit Card folks due to unlawful charges on our credit card. So far that amount is $680. All the charges have been charged in Utah. I have not been to Utah. This terrible action has off set any good. I cannot give you anything close to 5 star, nor can I recommend you to anyone else. Hopefully the Fraud Division, and the Fed's will catch the crook who is working for VIVINT.

I have been having a few issue with the vivint system for about two months i have it . I had to call about my outdoor camera 3 times in which it still dosent work correctly .. it records sunrise.. but when i walk in front of it .. it dont record me.. customer service tell me its the sensitivity but there is no sensitivity option on the panel so i gave up.. i think its a way for you to buy the space monkey.. Vivnt need to work on the out door camera.. However the doorbell camera is the best thing going for them i love it however its a delay qhen someone rang the bell.. but that could be a wifi problem who knows...

Nothing but problems since this system was installed. Just last week had a new panel and doorbell installed because they weren t working properly. Each time they come out they wanna charge you a $45 fee for a tech to come out to fix their equipment. After the tech installed the panel and doorbell the nest thermostat won t connect to the panel. After a call to tech support they said they would send out a new thermostat that I would have to install. He proceeds to tell me to remember we re the wires are connected so I can connect the new one up correctly. They don t send a tech out unless you pay $45 and they don t send one out to replace a thermostat or a door lock. I m paying you to monitor my home and you can t come out and fix your equipment when it s broken. Then I have to install equipment that you send me because y all don t do that. Stay away from this company. Any home security system would be better than these guys. Waste of money.

It is very nice to see a company have it's own service employees to address problems that may arise in our society. The quick response of your team means a lot of me. I have used other security companies and none can meet the expertise of Vivint!!!!

The system was explained thoroughly when installed, and, when I moved about 45 miles away, they came and transferred the system to the new house at no charge. Any emergencies that came up were quickly taken care of with a phone call. Vivint was always polite and understanding.

horrible company to work for ....missed jobs on all my paychecks... so watch your money...training pay was $8.50 hour insulting...they hired me at $45.00 per base install... not true made $35.00....then they said I would have to take training modules that would of taking me 2 to 3 weeks before I could make the income that they had promised me. The process to close a job is a joke ....some took 3 hrs....The worst pay I have ever made in the alarm industry. No insurance no vacation and I had to use my car pay my gas and pay all tolls.... the security panel is problematic and could not believe customer would pay over $70.00 per month for this service. This is how bad companies grow.... awful experience.

You claim that customers have control and safety in and from afar/ away from. Well, you couldn't do that for me. I never had internet and your sales rep. Said that I didn't need it. You system never worked . I have severa7 support people to come to my home. When I said I am done. You lied to me. I was told to buy internet and then you equipment would. I was also told. That if I stood by the box on the wall I would see what was happening. If I was on a trip or at work I would just have to wait until I got home. And if I wanted to cancel I would be billed wether the system worked for me or not.
I would never recom this company to anyone.

Vivnt always has provided excellent service. I have peace of mind with my alarm system & the fire sensors were invaluable when a tenant set off the smoke alarm accidentally. When an inspector tested the sensor for a new tenant, she tested the sensor too & was satisfied with the results. I am happy I can monitor my system from my cell which is a bonus to me. Thank you Vivint for your products & services as well as the helpful customer service reps that politely & efficiently answer any questions I may have :)

2 weeks without AC in the middle of summer because VIVINT has faulty thermostats and wants to blame your AC unit so you wait additional time without AC to get an HVAC person to troubleshoot. Verdict: VIVINT faulty thermostat which can't be fixed for an additional week. They tell you to call an HVAC person to fix the issue at their expense but leave you to pay the bill which is $385 to $420 for a thermostat not to mention the service call. Going on 3 weeks without AC, sweltering, losing weight....dying.

6 Sep 2017: Currently after all the weight loss and new wardrobe, I must say I feel safe with my alarm system working properly and quick response from vivint. The panel is very loud when they call in to check on intrusion detection but rightfully so as to scare intruders. I have recommended vivint to others looking for reliability and security but my review still stays due to technician's lack of wanting to replace any of their faulty parts.

Overall I am pleased with Vivint. For the most part they are helpful. However I had a couple of bad customer service experiences that had to be escalated. My last one was terrible. I was supposed to receive some extra sensors for an issue I had where I couldn't arm my system for 10 days because a technician could not come out. It's been almost 4 months and still no Sensors! I emailed 2 months after I was supposed to receive them to be told they were shipped but I never got. They were supposed to ship them out again. 2 months later still nothing. So I send another email with the same reply that they were shipped but there's no tracking #! Really? Come on Vivint, you can do better than that...

I have been with Vivint now for 4 years. I had my share of bad days with customer service but I have had my fare share of awesome days with customer service and most of the technician that come to the house they are very friendly and helpful. I really have enjoyed Vivint ever since one of the Company Executive's came out to my home to follow up with me on a issue that I had brought to the company's attention. When he came to visit me this really showed me that the company really cared about veterans and senior citizens so I told a lot of my friends and colleagues about Vivint.
