When I moved to a new home they told me I had to remove my own equipment and bring it to new home and sign a new contract for 5 or 6 years to me that is ridiculous and there is no way to get out of it I thought this was a security system not a car loan. I will never use them or anyother provider again with out doing research first into contracts. Rip off.

Vivint has a good system. But the salesman didn't not follow through with what he promised. Therefore I am terminating my service once my contract is up. For that I am giving them a 3 star rating. Asael is his name and don't remember his last name. If this is your sales person, do not sign up with him as he is full of it.
I had trouble getting them to come to my home to fix the unit. After a month with the alarm not working I canceled my service. The day I had switched alarm companies and was having a new alarm system installed, they sent a tech out to my house. I told him he was no longer needed and sent him on his way. Sad they only wanted to fix the problem after I already canceled and found service with another company.
Great customer service. Great. But I took a star for pricing on adding products & services. Once you buy the package and commit to a contract you might as well cancel and resign up as a new customer. Same as cable...Rewards go to becoming a customer, not stay one.
My experience with Vivint was excellent! He resolved all my issues with my cameras and monitor. He even advised me that I needed a software upgrade that I didn't know it needed. Thanks Vivint for protecting my children and wife!
You have reckless & distracted drivers. I just had one blow by me in a 20 mph school zone (Cascade ELEMENTARY in Orem UT) in his little white van. The normal speed limit is 35 mph, he was going well over 40 mph. Would I want someone like that in my home??? NO WAY. I tried to call & complain, but there is "no department" for that, & corporate is unreachable.
I was lied to by the salesman, Dylan. YOU CANNOT CANCEL AT ANYTIME!!! There is a 5 year contract that you sign, even though you believe the salesman, you better read the contract. If you do try to cancel, you still have to pay for the equipment. I am legally responsible for 1 camera, 1 doorbell & 1 smoke detector for a total cost of $2400. I told that gd salesman that I was on Social Security Disability & an extremely limited income. Salesman also says I won't be billed for 5 months. WRONG!!!!!! I was charged right away. My contract is for $67 a month for 60 months! I HATE YOU VIVINT!!!!!!!
I wish Vivint could get a 0 star rating. After I signed up, I referred my elderly parents to Vivint, who have since needed to sell their home and move in with my sibling. Even though they don't have a home of their own, Vivint is charging them the full contract amount. Their equipment is buggy and has major issues that you'll end up paying for in service calls. I would not recommend this service to anyone.
Love my vivan the system. Very user friendly. We tested it once and set alarm off just to test. They notified us within seconds to make sure we were okay.
No issues. Love the ability to lock the door and set the alarm from my phone when I forget. Can also let people in or out while I'm on vacation. Just got the Sky app and doorbell camera, love it. Very prompt with anything I need and understanding when I open the patio door forgetting the alarm was set. Great company to do business with.
From the first-class sales presentation and quality installation through the ongoing service and support, Vivint is, bar none, the best security service I have ever had.
I would rate the Vivint App for my phone and IPAD a 1. Door bell rings and the clip can't be accessed for several hours or the next day. The camera's sensitivity is set high but I can never get a person recorded.
I'm a hub home in woods cross. My wi-fi has constant problems with staying connected. It's like the signal gets disrupted many times throughout the day. I've replaced my modem/router because that's what Vivints' customer service recommended and it didn't change anything. Whenever it rains, shows, the wind blows, the sun is out, it's cloudy, or the moon is out, I have trouble maintaining a connection. I'm ready and waiting for them to get their garbage equipment off of my roof.
At my last home I tried to get Vivint wifi, about 3 years ago, and I was given the run around. Every time a rep was supposed to get ahold of me they didn t. Eventually I went with century link.
Now years later, in a new home, I m trying to get a home security system installed. I filled out the form online and a rep called me the next day. So far so good....the day before the install I received a text saying they couldn t make it and they rescheduled me for a different time. I already had taken time off work to make sure I would be home for the installer. Ok so now it was a few days later and another text comes through, the day before the appointment, and they cant make it. A rep calls me and tells me they would be out that weekend for sure but that Saturday came and went with no install. I gave them one more chance and scheduled it for tomorrow 6-5-2019. The representative on the phone guaranteed me they would be there and even gave me 2 months free for my troubles. Guess what I just got a text they cant make it, they called me after I didnt respond to the text and I canceled. 4 missed appointments over a month timeframe! And at 2 different homes/situations. I cant even trust this company to come out and install the system when they say they will I can only imagine the support existing customers receive. I will not recommend this company to anyone.
Every time I have had to call Vivint, they have been ready to assist me in whatever the problem is. Their service people get the job done right and check everything in my home prior to their departure to make sure everything is working correctly. I have recommended them to many of my friends.
When we've had a problem (twice in nearly a year) the people on the phone have been wonderful and helpful. With our monitor freezing up twice in the last week, we were told we had to unscrew the front of the monitor and then pull on a plug until it came out, then unplug from the wall. Wouldn't this have been nice to know upfront. I was asked if we had gone online to see how to fix this. When I have an ear blasting alarm going off that even the program on my phone won't turn off, the last thing I'm going to do is turn my computer on and learn what I can do to fix it. Maybe something as easy as this could have been shared when it was installed? As I said, always nice and knowledgeable people. But waiting for customer service to come out is awful. A time frame is given, and both times no one has turned up until the last minute of that time frame. Today, the first time I called customer service and said a call would have been nice to let us know when the tech would be here. We had a call less than 5 minutes later telling us, gasp, they would be here at the last minute of the time frame. I called Customer Service again asking that they incorporate a call to customers to let them know an arrival time on the day of service. They have to give out that time frame and that's understandable. But to then be told by the customer service agent that it depends on where I live in Provo as to how long it takes the tech to get here? I told them that if I lived in the tree streets or up on the bench I guessed I wouldn't have to wait. Silence. So I said goodbye and hung up.
I had No problem (s) with Vivint. Fast responds, when it's a problem, the representative, will explain,in details, if I have a question(s). Trusted Vivint, approximately 3 or more more years.
Have had my service since July 2013. Very happy with it. When I needed help I got it. Always very friendly and knowledgeable folks at Vivint. Very happy with everything.
I have had nothing but great experiences with Vivint. From the initial meeting with the sales representative to my latest upgrade. They have always answered any questions I've had and provided excellent customer service. I've been with them for about a year now and expect nothing less than excellence from this outstanding company. They are always on the leading edge of innovation for smart home technology. Our next step is Vivint internet when they offer it in my location.
Vivint is the nastiest company to ever work with. I signed up for an alarm system and have to move because of work. They won't let me out of my agreement even though where I am moving will not allow me to take the system with me. They want me to keep paying on the system that I don't have. If I were to ever get another alarm, it would NEVER be with Vivint. Don't sign yourself up for a death wish with Vivint, they are the absolute WORST company, full of scammers, people that try to trick you into signing up for something not disclosing the details.
I have 3 accounts with Vivant, One being at a remote ranch. All systems work flawlessly. The techs are very knowledgeable and professional. The phone support and monitoring response couldn't be better. The equipment is fantastic. No problems to date. I would highly recommend Vivant over ADT any day.
Just figured out why so many people evidently speak so badly of this company. Got talked into a $3000 equipment purchase and expensive long term contract about a month ago. When the installer arrived who was pretty nice by the way, it quickly became apparent that my needs would not be met (e.g. could not install cameras where I needed).
I actually picked up one of their cameras and it was cheap plastic and light weight like some child's toy. I requested the installer to cancel everything. Instead he moved the installation out to a month later and asked me to reconsider. He even put one of their signs in my yard to "keep the bad guys away".
I received an email reminder today of my installation. The email contained a link to change the appt. but not cancel it. So this evening I was forced to call the number in the email to cancel. The rep who answered the phone I believe identified himself as "Matt". When I told him I wanted to cancel my appointment and order, he immediately launched into the most unpleasant, belligerent sales mode I have ever experienced.
He first stated he was an account manager and would solve my issues. He insisted on asking a series of sales questions, offered a 200 rebate, then half off my first month. I noted over 6 times that I did not want a sales pitch - I simply wanted to cancel my installation and be done with them. He simply got more aggressive and belligerent. He refused my repeated requests to cancel my appointment and order. I told him I was going to submit a complaint and he just seemed to chuckle. I also noted that his behavior confirmed my decision to do not business with them.
The really alarming part of this unpleasant experience was that he seemed to be enjoying himself. I finally had to hang up after warning him repeatedly I was about to do so. I took a couple of deep breaths and called the number back and got a different guy who was actually professional. I explained what had just happened and that I did not want a sales pitch. He was understanding, put me on hold for a couple of minutes and stated everything was now canceled and I would receive a refund on my initial deposit.
After coming here and reading the negative reviews, it's clear I dodged a bullet. I have submitted a complaint to the Texas Attorney General as well. Hopefully they will investigate and take appropriate action against this poor excuse for a company.
I am very surprised to read the negative reviews. My experience has been positive from the very beginning. From the time I called to find out information, to the incredible and thorough sales representative (Josh), and finally with the seamless and smooth installation. It is everything I could have hoped for. We just added another camera and lock. Again, the service was great. When we had a lock lose connection with the system, the customer service rep was knowledgeable and thorough. When she couldn't fix it over the internet, she set up a service call for the next day.
Thanks Vivent, The peace of mind and comfort of having this protection is immeasurable.
I would give less than 1 Star if I could... once you start with them it is impossible to cancel without losing quite a bit of money! Horrible customer service and people skills !
I recently had my home flooded and Vivint was kind enough to recognize my struggle and continued need for security, so they gave me a break on my alarm services. Thank you for your kindness
we love it, the availability to set or reset everything on the phone is awesome, it's the peace of mind. we lived in the country because my husband has PTSD and since moving back to the city it was really hard for him to get use to the noises, having this security system has made all the difference in him actually sleeping we've tried other security alarm companies and this one out beats them by leaps and bounds thank you Vivint for giving my hero a VietNam Vet a good night rest!
Had alarm put in in may of 2016, in September 2017 there thermostat stoped working properley. Spent 2 hours on the phone with the tech to find out she did not know what she was doing. I had to walk her threw the diagnoses to find out there thermostat was not working properley. They said it would be 2 weeks before they could get someone put to replace it. It takes 5 min to replace and install. She said they could mail one to me and i could install it and would not void nothing and would be under waranty. 6 weeks later i get a call wanting payment for the thermostat. What kind of company lies to people like that. Oh yeah Vivant does. Bunch of liers far as i can see.
Vivint is great! I have revived the best customer service from them. The home automation systems allows me to control it from my phone letting me feel safe even away from home...its way better than the other alarm companies ive tried, and it has become a brag for me at work. Love it..every one should have this system
We have always had a good experience with Vivint. My husband and I had left to go to our local cinema five minutes away and standing in line for tickets, my phone rang and it was someone from Vivint to tell us that our alarm had gone off. They had already summoned the police because they could not reach us on our landline . My husband raced home. Our basement door was open . It was then that my husband remembered he had not closed the basement door before we left. Embarrassed, but thankful there was no actual break-in. Thanks Vivint and Graham Police! Jan Peterman NC
BUYER BEWARE!!!! This company makes it extremely difficult to cancel. DO NOT get roped into a contract with them as they don't answer the phone or email or anything when it comes time to stop the billing. Constant hang-ups, looped voicemails to try and wear you out so you cant cancel. Go to Google Home/Nest, no deceptive sales tactics there!
Worst ever. They lie to you. You will never be able to cancel your account with these crooks. Now I have to take them to court. You are better off letting your house get robbed rather than deal with Vivint CROOKS.
I talked to the main office and I was very pleased with their response. They were very knowledgeable and courteous. I needed another sign for my front yard and I got it within the week.
Well I moved a short time after I installed all that I wanted at White Horse Lane, but when I moved to 911 Lajolla Lane, I didn't feel I should pay for the fire detector again or the breaking glass alarm or even not all the doors and windows which are not covered. Don't even think I have a motion detection. So not at all happy with this service. Since it is not what I had paid for can I get out of this 4 yr contract? Sharon Myers
We used Vivint for the Internet. When the Internet is working it is great. Majority of the time however the Internet is down. We go long periods of time with no internet connection. I work from my home office selling VOIP telephony and behavioral chat technology. My livelihood revolves around the Internet. Having a poor internet service provider makes it very hard for me to do my job! I gave them a 2 cause the support team that you call into is always nice but that does not help me when the Internet is down!
Every time there is a little (or a lot) of adverse weather. My internet goes down, unfortunately those are the days I tend to telecommute. I'm finally fed up with it.
The basic concept of home protection is simple: keep the bad guys out. If they attempt or gain entry: detect their actions, quickly let them know they have been detected, and notify the appropriate authorities. The vivint system has many tools to effectively and reliably accomplish these needs. The only problem I have is when I forget the system is on and rush to the basement to accomplish a quick task. The system catches me every time!
Pay $85 per month for vivint and if it any of the devices stop working they charge you an additional $50 to come out and service the equipment. You have no choose but to pay it or be stuck with equipment that doesn t work. Unhappy customer.
False alarms , less than a year since paid to install. Zero integrity. Won't stand behind product or install. Set up contract in such a manner that you are the owner of their junk equipment. Charge of $50 just to send someone out to look at their faulty junk. Do yourself a favor and buy SimpliSafe instead!
We have been Vivint customers for 6 months. We are very pleased with its prompt courteous service and the security it provides. The info panel is easy to use, informative (reminds us when a door or window is opened), and a convenient way of talking to Vivint customer service. Smoke alarm does work well (as tested by some burnt bacon one morning). Vivint's call to us (over the panel) to check our status was courteous and reassuring. No fire department or police were dispatched. No charge for our mistake
Probably one of the worst decisions I've made. The system works great when it works properly. Ive had the system for eleven months and Ive had a tech come out on average every six weeks. Has been very frustrating.
I have had Vivint home security for about 6 months. I was away on an extended trip when the system was installed so when I returned home there was some equipment that I needed to be relocated in my house. working with the local technician was a little difficult, but the 800 customer support was very helpful and customer friendly. The system itself is very easy to learn and I have not had any problems with it. I would like the night vision cameras to capture with better clarity, but otherwise I would give it 5 stars as far as was of use, aesthetics, and customer support.
My experience with Vivint has always been great. The friendly staff is top notch. I particularly like the way respond to whatever need that arises. Vivint, in my opinion, is a five star company.
No one contacted me in regards to my mothers alarm going off. I am very disappointed with your Company for several reasons. Reasons that I had requested several months ago for her Med Alert be sent to my address. Which I never received. Later found out they were sent to my moms address and has been sitting on the shelf for several months. And her not knowing what to do with it. And of course my brother not caring if she has it on or not.. I am very displeased with your Company and if my dad had not signed a contract with you I would have another Company doing the Alarm System. So if you are asking for a rating on your Company I would have to say " 0 Stars." I pay for my mothers alarm system each month. And your Company receives your money on time each and every month. Is this a Company that is there just to receive your money and not be aware of what your customers requests are?
I love Vivint. They respond quickly if your alarm goes off and they are very understanding if it is an accident. The customer service representatives are very friendly. I've recently sold my house and have not found a new one yet. Vivint lets you place your account on hold and you do not need to pay your bill until you find a new home and they get your system installed. The time that your account is on hold is tact on to your contract. If I had any complaints it would be that we I had the system installed it was two young men and they were rushing and they rushed me through the instructions. When they were finished they had to call in to finish the set up and then you need to speak with the person on the phone and at the end of the set up you are asked to review the installers. I don't fee comfortable reviewing them while they are standing right there.
I have had Vivint since 2012, no issues whatsoever, I don't normally post reviews but I recently upgrade to the new panel and got the Doorbell Camera. It is the coolest thing ever. Super sleek looking unlike most other companies. I can tell you right now that all companies are not created equal. I have been extremely impressed that Vivint genuinley cares about their customers. To people who are thinking about getting Vivint and see some of these negative reviews as well as positive, just remember the only time someone is going to write a review is if they are angry at a company. How great is it that people (including me) are so impressed with Vivint as too write a positive review! Vivint is by far the greatest security you could go with. Don't hesitate. You won't regret it. I now have several family members with Vivint as well. All love it!!
I ve heard good things about Vivint, and I ve heard bad things about it also. A lot of my friends work for them and they seem happy. Very clean facility, but wack prices and policies. Most of their staff are Provo All-Star types of people.
I had to lose a star because of my first dealing with customer service. After replacing the batteries in my glass break sensor, the system did not recognize the change. I contacted cust serv and they reset the system. Three times. Then had me remove the panel and reboot system again. Then ndecided sensor was ng and sent me another. I installed it though it was different. Maybe upgrade? After the two weeks thgat it took to get and install. NG again. Made appt with serv tech to come. He came and changed the sensor to the original design. It worked. Mt point is that if the cust serv reps (3) knew what to do, the right one would have been sent the first time. They are all nice but not too many know the system well enough to troubleshoot over the phone. I think more training or a better trouble shooting sequence is needed. Instead of keeping you on the phone and running around the house checking things, send a tech sooner. It would keep people happier, customers and service reps.
ALL I HAVE TO SAY AND KEEP REPEATEDLY SAYING TO ALL MY FEEL KNOWING I HAVE VIVINTAGE ON MY SIDE ,EVERYTIME I FEEL I HAVE A PROBLEM and need to know how to solve this problem with my security system I call vivint talk to a team member state what wrong and they calm me down and problem resolved. This people know all the right answers. THEY LISTEN AND BEFORE YOU GO TO BED YOU FEEL SAFE AND GOOD YOU MADE THE CALL.. THANKS VIVINT FOR ALL YOU DO FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS. I'M A VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER AND ALWAYS WILL BE, NO ONE BETTER OUT THERE IN MY BOOK.
The service is great. However the vivint app was lost on my Samsung Android phone. The tec told me to wait a few days and try again. please help me. I know you will.
The technician that came out was great! Super polite, clean, and very efficient. The system works great, and is very intuitive. Extremely easy to use. Price is great! Love it!!!!
This is by far the worst alarm company I have ever dealt with. From day one the panel hasn't worked right. The door sensors will at randomly show open, even though they are still closed. After speaking with the manufacturer of the sensors they informed me that their technicians should have never used the particular sensor on this type of door. After a 2 hr phone call with tech support they finally agree to send out a service tech to replace the sensors for free. The tech Casey comes out without the parts needed to repair the issue. Casey informs us that we will have to buy the sensors to have it repaired. At this point I am tired of all the false alarms and issues so I go buy $120 in parts. I get a hold of the tech to get them installed and he informs me that I will need to call into the tech support number to setup a new service request. Here we are again they want to charge us $59 to come out and fix issues they have caused.
Has malfunctioned on some level since the outset. Local service unresponsive. Have to reboot the panel at least daily. Local service can't or won't solve the problem. I regret going with Vivint.
My business was broken into and two cameras were supposed to go on and the installer never hooked them up correctly so they never recorded. Thanks for the bad install job. They dont answer the phone either! I was just on the phone for over 30 minutes.
Viant has been great for us, works well but we have had it at least 4 years or maybe more. At the time we got it we did not have smart phones so didn't need the info about using it with the phones. Now we do so would like some information on how to set things up with our phones please. Update 07/03/2019 We have had the doorbell camera about 6 to 10 months, is great & works so well with our smart phones!!
I love this service. I can control everything from the app on my mobile phone. The response time is great and customer service is given with genuine concern. It's exceptional that I can view who rings my doorbell from wherever I am.
If I could I would give 0 stars. This home security company is horrible. They will lie to you to get you to sign up. They have out of state sales people sell you products and then bail once their lies unfold. The equipment sucks. My doorbell cam use to work great (when it would stay connected), now it hardly picks up anything. They told me my higher package included the serivce from techs if anything went wrong, soon after they told me they didn't do that package anymore, but were still going to charge me the same price. Believe me when I say this, they will screw you over like they have me and others I have talked to that regret having them.
I like the security and having an alarm for my husband to wear for health reasons. I am having difficulty with the thermostat and if they left me an in struction book I cannot find it. The High and low settings for day and night are not as I like and I don't know how to change it. I am going to call help today as it is blooming hot here in AZ.
Very good service. Any questions we've had has always been answered quickly, politely and professionally. Never had any complaints regarding any aspect of the service.
The service was great at the beginning but once a year passed the thermostats the cameras and all the great features that we once had were gone. I have contacted tech support the wait times are way too long once you get thorough, the techs are good but the fixes are for a couple days. I have certainly given up hope of having the features I once loved and I am waiting for the contract to expire and be done.
I really really liked you guys but you ve dropped the ball
The system and service were great until we had the system moved to our new home. Since I don't believe the system is operating as it should and my requests for a tech visit have fallen on deaf ears. At this point I am not happy with Vivint at all
I've been using Vivint in my store for about 6 months now. I'm very pleased with the support I've gotten from Vivint as well as the quality of the equipment. The smartphone app allows me to stay connected to my shop 24/7 and is easy to use.
This is a terrible company, I made the mistake of locking myself into a vivint contract when I was a new home owner. The salesman was a very smooth talker and I was excited about owning my first home. I had nothing but issues with the equipment and the repairmen would either come way after their appointment time or not show up at all. I even had a repair man come the day after the first one showed up not knowing the first guy fixed the issue. My biggest problem with the company is, I payed my remaining contract off but still have been charged two monthly payments afterwards. I have called the company to hopefully get a refund and have opened a claim with my bank. I have a feeling like I will need to change my credit card number or something just so vivint doesn't charge my card anymore.
After reviewing these ratings, I will not go with Vivant. Too many bad things said. I do recognize that you can't make everyone happy and that things happen to individuals that will give them a bad taste in their mouth for your company, but this is a lot of bad mouths that have tasted something horrible.
I absolutely love my security alarm system. It works like a charm. If there are ever any issues with any of their products they come out within a day or two and fix it free of charge. The customer service representatives on the phone are extremely knowledgable and very friendly. They will stay on the phone with you until the problem is solved. No matter how long it takes.
I've been with Apx alarm for about 4 to 5yrs. I'm not sure when Vivint bought them out, but I've been with them for about total years 10 now. I've been through the good times with great customer service and equipment. I've also been through the bad times. That at one time I just wanted OUT due to some of their customer service reps are there to just collect a check instead of helping you out, but I had about a hand full of reps from the time Vivint bought Apx help me out to stay another time, if they had better customer service they would be a top home security company, but they are getting better. I'm not knocking them nor down playing them but if you give them a chance they are there to help you I've experience it.....
