Some guy who claimed to for Vivint, came to our front door after a few of us watched him walk suspiciously up and down the block. Then he came to the door and made a remarks like "I wanna calm your family down, cause they are all worried about me walking around here". He also asked if we are renters or home owners which sounded like we were being stereotyped. His name is Kiarash Derakhti. The whole situation sounded even stranger when we found out Vivint is based in Utah. Its kind of out of the way. Making people paranoid to the point where they are scared in to needing your services is straight out of a movie.

I have had nothing but great experiences with vivint. Anytime I've had an issue, the customer service rep was always able to handle the problem. They are always very polite and professional.
Great home security service and great service technicians. The service tech for my area is knowledgeable and will answer any and all wuestions I have. He made me feel like my safety and that of my kids is important to him.
Love the service we've had with Vivint. So far they've been both professional and friendly when we've spoken to them. The system has worked just the way it's supposed to.
I have had Vivint for over three years now. I just sold my home and am building a home. I explained to the vivint rep my situation and he said that he could put my billing on a 6 month hold while I build and then they will start billing me after the 6 month. They said take all the equipment with me for the new home. So I think that things are just going smooth. All for not.....I get a call on Memorial Day from Vivint billing saying that they can not run pull the money out of my account for May. I explained to billing rep what Vivint had said to me (recorded on their end) and she said there was no record of it. That is a $%#@% Joke. Product has been good, technicians have been good, but customer service is a joke. In my job, if our departments are not communicating, we fail. Vivint this time you failed! As soon as my term is up ill be looking for another provider.
I have issues with a defective three month old door lock. I called tech support and it was determined that the lock was defective. I tried to arrange a service tech but none were available in my area until after new years. I went on my ski vacation and just returned. I called to schedule another service call to replace the door lock, a high heat sensor, the house thermostat indicates the set temp for heat and ac but not the actual room temperature so my furnace went off and I was not alerted to the no heat problem. The service dept rep tried to get me to pay for the service call and I refused to pay for a new system the does not work properly. We will see how the service call goes in 8 days.
I was one of the first individuals in Anniston. AL to purchase Vivint. I had called customer service requesting to discuss an upgrade since I had been a customer for such a long time and had only basic service that was available then. Someone was to return my call. I never received one. I have been so pleased with my service through the years and am perplexed about this incident.
My experience started out well, but recently I found out that our Sale Rep, Ty Rogers forged my name on an account that I referred him to. They used my credit and put my name as primary owner of the account. I didn't find out about this til the referred party went deliquent, 2 years later. Ty Rogers is now District Manger of Vivint and is currently still selling these systems. My suggestion is to not use Vivint because apparently your personal information is NOT SAFE, gee, some security system they have on top of the fact that Vivint condones FRAUD. I'm in the process of getting this straightened out but in the mean time I'm getting collection calls and threats to mess up my credit. Vivint is not wanting to make good on this situation because they SOLD the debt to a company and the collection company doesn't want to do anything but get some money. So I highly suggestion NOT TO USE VIVINT. They ARE NOT SECURE!!
If anyone out there is looking to get a securtiy system. DO NOT choose Vivint Smart Home. They don't let you know how long your contract is before siging the contract. They do not cancel your service for any reason unless you find someone to buy your contract from you. Before your 6 year contract is up, make sure you send in a request the month before your contract ends. Your request has to be on file for 30 days or you are charged for that month and pro-rated for the next month. The only good thing about the Vivint Smart Home System is they do call you when your alarm goes off of your lights go out. I wanted to put a half star (I really wanted to put no stars but you can't post without putting one) but couldn't find out how to do that.
A great system. This is the second house we have had Vivint installed in, and we like the simplicity of use and the knowledgeable and courteous support staff.
I have been very pleased with Vivint. I live alone, and I go to sleep at night knowing that the alarm will go off and police will come if there is an intruder. I had a little difficulty with the new website, but when I talked with humans on the phone, they were able to resolve my problem cheerfully and quickly (a pop-up blocker I hadn't noticed). I like the videos, the quick exit feature, being able to use the codes and/or key fob on the doors, and being able to use my phone to check/change the locks when I'm away.
we are very happy with our system and the customer service we have received from them they are willing to help us anytime we have called them are very friendly and have even called here to make sure everything was okay when our power went out
We are going into our 5th year with Vivint. Our installer was fantastic and the support has been more than we expected. We have dealt with the same people from the start and everyone at Vivint have been top notch. We have never considered going anywhere else. Thank you Vivint.
Installation to up grade our vivant security system was done prompt and on time. I was explained how to use the equipment and I tested everything before the workers left the premises. I'm very satisfied with Vivint.
I wouldn't get the service from Vivint. As soon as my contract is up I am cancelling my service with this company. It is hard to get a tech out here during the weekend (Saturday) or reasonable hours for where someone can be home. I have to take off work in order to get a sensor fixed that keeps going off and you can only stop it for a few hours. Even Vivint can't stop it until a tech comes out which is almost a month from now.
Everyone from sales, tech, installer and Corporate have been absolutely wonderful. They're patient, knowledgeable and helpful. The indoor cameras feel cheap but the picture is excellent! I would strongly suggest pan/tilt cameras though instead of static. If you hear something strange in another part of the house you want to investigate thoroughly before 'disturbing a break in'. Thank you everyone
Over all, the system is fine. My only problem is, when we arm the system from our cell phone, there are times when it is a pain to do this. Our previous system (ADT) had key fobs for that purpose, which made it quicker to arm and disarm the system, with no problems. Are you folks working on something to make it easier for Seniors to arm and disarm the system without the hassles? Thanks for any help you may render us.
I would rate Vivint 4.5 stars on the service I have with them. The setup was done with adequate explanation of how to use the equipment. Responses to our the emergencies have been prompt over the last 4 years. Questions about the few times we did not understand something were answered. I was pleased last week to see that a "tornado warning" was on our Vivint monitor when we returned from out of town a few hours after a tornado had hit in our county about 8 miles from our house. I look forward to the time when they can do two things: provide outdoor video surveillance that ties into the Vivint system (we have had 2 bicycles and 1 lawnmower stolen in the last few years). Also, the remote house temperature control does not work with our particular combination gas heater/ electric AC so I do not get to use that feature. I have asked they come up with a solution for that. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service provided with the equipment we are using. I would want the cost to be more competitive, but I feel secure in what they do.
I sold my home and put my contract on a deferment, until I my new home was built. Due to the lengthy time of the construction I called and notified Vivint of the tentative dates. Four months later, I get a call from Vivint informing me that my account is four months delinquent. I thought I resolved their mistake until I received a collection letter for double the amount! I immediately called and advised Vivint of their mistake and proceeded to be connected 3 times!!!!... each time explaining their mistake. The last account manager that I spoke with refused to get her supervisor and asked if I could be put on hold, again! She was very smug and she seemed to be annoyed by my anger! This agency has recently had bad reviews and I thought it was too bad, because I had a great experience.... until now!
This is a very bad service, and in case of emergency the answer that customer service gives you is that you have to replace the equipment, you change it, and if you want to review your videos to make a police report , well there is no image and the only thing that customer service says we are so sorry we cannot help you, but we can send you a new equipment only you pay for the shipping, with which impudence they are not even willing to give you a compensation ..... Very bad service always the same
We have had Viva t for almost 5 years and we love knowing that our home is safe at all times. We really like having the keypad door lock it is easy too lock as you walk out and you don't have to have a key to get in the house. If you are cooking and your smoke alarm goes off be assured the fire department will show up very quickly. It just gives us peace of mind know my daughter is safe in her room at the front of the house because of the security alarm. It is well worth the money for peace of mind.
Not less than 5 minutes ago some A-Hole in a Vivint White and Orange Prius was being a very wreckless driver on University Pkwy in Orem. First he cut off our car, then when I pulled up next to him he rolled down his window, shouted obscenities at me, and then flipped me off. My wife and I were oblivious as to why he was being such a douchebag. If this is any indication of how Vivint does business or the people they trust with their branding, then stay far far away from this company.
I have had the pleasure to enjoy peaceful sleep and worry free protection in the home and away from home with having Vivint, for the past three years. Vivint security service is awesome! I thank God for such an outstanding security alarm protection. The alarm goes off immediately after you enter if you do not dis-alarm off in time. The alert customer services representative is very prompt in responding to the alarm going off and is very helpful in making sure that every thing is OK before getting off the phone. I' m using my system everyday and I'm enjoying having the protection that is so much needed.
Vivint is great and I don't regret doing business with them. Are they the cheapest ? I don't believe so, but they have everything it takes to keep my family safe and that's worth the extra dollars per month. Everytime something has happened, their Customer Service was on the phone with me within minutes: one false panic code (triggered by me, police at my door within two minutes), a false alarm from the freezing sensor and door lock to reconnect to network. I'm glad to be with Vivint, no questions. Btw, their app is great.
Unbelievably shady and misleading. Taking door to door sales to a whole new low. The salesman will tell you anything you want, and then blatantly lie to you about the truth of the situation. They'll tell you at any point you can cancel the contract as long as all equipment fees are paid, however the truth behind it all is that they will rope you into a long-term contract that they won't let you out of even if equipment sells are paid in full.
Called Vivint looking for cost of system they wanted to set up appointment to look at existing system, ok, then wanted a credit card to make a refundable charge to setup a appointment , I should have hung up. An installer cane to "quote " the system, a mg d admitted that they could nor gibe us what we had, and that a refund would be issued. I have called and called , no refund, just lies, it's all set up, you should see it soon.....
Vivint is a joke, I have had nothing but issues with them since day one.
The installer made several holes in the wall then tried to hide it, he said he would be back the next day to finish the install but never showed up.
They will nickel and dime you for everything.
i did eventually have a break-in, where a guy threw a brick thru our back window. The glass break sensor triggered the alarm and vivint did call right away. The "security" they dispatched arrived almost 2 hours later, the gaurd was afraid the enter the home and remained in his car down the street.
luckly we did have the cameras and door bell camera as it did aid in arresting the low life junkie, he is now serving 10 years in prison for multiple break-ins in the area.
Vivint is now trying to charge me a $55 false alarm fee for the day the guy broke in to my home. i am having to jump thru hoops and take time out of my day for a mistake on their end.
dont even get me started on the "smart" panel and mobile app, they are both garbage and dont work 50% of the time.
I would not recommend them to anyone, they have been nothing but problems since the day they installed.
I feel safe having Vivint in my home. They have excellent customer service. The install was done well with lots of explanation. I love having an app on my phone that controls everything. The app still has some "quirks" but over all its a great system.
We used Vivint for our home security. That part was fine. Trying to cancel the account after we sold the home was horrific. It took almost 4 months to cancel and they refused to provide a final statement for the payoff amount. The billing process is ridiculous. Dozens of phone calls, emails, etc. and finally was able to get a receipt and an email of cancellation when I paid it off. Will NEVER use them again or recommend them.
A very good experience for the most part. The only real negative is communicating withe the door locks from our iPhones, which was a main reason for getting the system. We periodically can't get the doors to lock or unlock through the phones, even though we can arm and disarm the system through the phones. Also, there are times when the phones show that the doors are locked when they are not.
Vivint is so easy to use, I'm glad we got it! Our home is safe and secure while we are home and away. I love having the door lock hooked up to the alarm system. a few times now I have received unannounced visits from out of town guests while I was out, with the app I just unlocked the door and turned off the alarm to let them in. its great! Now I am definitely getting the doorbell cam.
I was not the least bit happy with the people in customer service. They could not seem to get anything right, just simple things. After my 5th contact, I ask for a supervisor. I had been trying to get this resolved for 3 months! The supervisor contacted a local technician. The technician came and took care of the problem. She checked out other things also. I really appreciated her. The people in the office, no way! They get 1 star or less. The technician should get 5 or more stars. She was great.
I love VIVINT! It is an awesome system that is completely wireless, I love the fact I can leave the house and know it's secure and have a camera that I can keep an eye on my dog.
Worst mistake I ever made regarding a home improvement project. These people are buffoons, from sales to install and accounting. Got too big too fast, I guess. Try someone else.
I love Vivint. Except they didn't know how to get me connected to my new Mac computer. They kept transferring me to different people. Mi need to get my camera pull up on my computer and I still did not get the help
Well, what a nightmare. I feel like this company knowingly takes advantage of elderly people. My grandmother signed up for Vivint security and 6 months later was moved to a senior living facility. When she tried to cancel her contract they would not speak to us on the phone bus had us email everything to them. We did as instructed. They reviewed her issue and since there was not an "assisted living" on the name of the facility they refused to cancel her contract and she kept paying them money for a service that was no longer useful to her. They basically told us that we had to continue paying even though there was no physical way to use their security system. A few months later, for other reasons, she moved into an assisted living facility. After multiple phone calls, emails, faxes and letters we FINALLY were able to cancel this dumb contract. When I asked if they would refund some money since this process has taken months to resolve, they told me they don't do that. It makes me wonder how many more helpless people they are taking advantage of. If I wanted comcast customer service, I would have gone through them. I was hoping this hometown company would treat their community a little nicer. Hope you guys figure it out.
I paid off my equipment , but they still were charging me. I called and they called me back saying I had not paid off my equipment and that I owed $611.55 more. I said this company's accounting has been hacked and my house could not be in worse hands . I paid the money and cancelled. Your home is not safe with this company!!! And cancellation was a hassel. BBB HAS HAD THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT VIVINT.
VIVINT by far has the superior product for home security. While it's true that their Smart Home product is not the least expensive in the market, it is, however the best. I've found that the adage "you get what you pay for" is absolutely true for VIVINT! Exceptional service, outstanding hardware, and a support/monitoring team that cannot be duplicated by any other player in the home security industry. Way to go, VIVINT!
Vivint called and notified me my Glass Detector battery was getting low and should be replaced. I am happy with their constant monitoring of my system.
Don't let the other "reviewers" fool you. This company has horrible support and service. Customer support cannot help because of the structure of their company (departments are unable to communicate with one another). Their billing is constantly messed up. The alarm system I had installed was substandard. Even after my contract was fulfilled, it took 3 phone calls, 6 weeks, 4 emails, and an online chat to get my account cancelled and am still unsure because they won't send a cancellation letter. Their online chat is there just for looks - those representatives can't help with anything and calling them doesn't do much more. Their support page has the words emblazoned across it "How can we help?" which makes me smile. Beware - anyone that signs a contract with this company.
Vivint is the greatest company I have ever worked with. Their customer service is incredible and I've never had any issues. The doorbell camera is amazing! I love being able to automate my house and power it from my cell phone. I can't wait to see what this amazing, innovative company comes out with next!
I feel like this company knowingly takes advantage of people in general. If you see a vivint sales rep don't answer your door. He's only there to scam you.
Im very satisfied Vivint, it gives me peace of mind, there are live representatives when the alarm goes off, I dont know if they have any local technicians here in New York. I love them, as long as they dont raise the price and as long as they continue improving and keeping their loyal customers happy.
Been with Vivint for 4-5 years. They have provided excellent service at a great value. Their representatives are easy to talk to. We have a variety of services including the alarm, video, power, temperature controls, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide and maybe a few others. I have also used their services for my rentals.
There are so many low cost "security" systems out there. Your security and safety is not an area that you should look to save money. Get the best of the best. Vivint takes advantage of the latest technology which I love. I can view my cameras, arm/disarm system, see and talk to anyone who's at my door, all from my phone. This is the system that you need. I've had it for 5 years now and love it!
I'd give Vivint a 4.5 because I rarely give anyone a 5 star rating. I have been quite satisfied with Vivint in the time I've had them for my home security, which has been about 4-5 years. Recently I had them come out and update the panel and replace the thermostat. The young man that came out gave my system a thorough 'going through' to make sure everything was working, added a remote garage door opener and was on his way. I'd recommend them to neighbors.
I moved & the company was suppose to come to my new house to set up my equipment. Almost 2 months later no one has called or showed up, but you bet they are charging my account every month. Before I moved my cameras only worked half the time. They have had multiple techs show up & never fully got it working properly. Then the whole moving has been a joke.
The installation was very professional, they responded to any situation very fast. The system work perfectly. The customer service people have handled all concerns promptly. I have recommended them to others.
Just started working here. Loving the work atmosphere. The cafe always has great food (sushi Tuesdays). The department I work in has great supervisors always answer your questions and train you well.
I thought seriously about giving Vivint two stars, but finally gave in with a 3. I have a variety of issues with Vivint. The first is with tech support. We seemed to have finally gotten the most serious issue solved, the motion sensing camera. We originally were set up with an older style camera. That camera couldn't keep the internet connection for more than a week. Usually, I could get it reconnected. When I couldn't it meant a call to tech support. I had to go thru all their steps to try an get an appointment with a tech set up. That's where problems usually came up. Many times the appointment was a month or more away. So part of my system wasn't working for an extended period of time. They replace the camera several times, added a dedicated router to my internet, but nothing worked. At one point, our local Vivint was having lots of issues and had techs in from outside our area. We got an outside tech and she got our camera problem fixed by going to a different style camera. Another issue that we have had is one many people have mentioned, Vivent's different battery powered items eat thru batteries like crazy. The last issue I have is with the cost. For what you get, this system is on the upper end of the cost spectrum. For what we pay Vivint, you should have, at least, the same week tech support and a better system. Not only would I not recommend a Vivint system, I'm looking at other systems for when our contract ends.
This company is a crock. Do yourself a favor, if smooth talking Josh Westergard shows up on your doorstep, SLAM THE DOOR. The equipment never works properly, for starters. Doorbell camera takes so long to load you might as well not even have one. 90 percent of the time it doesn't pickup that anyone is there, even with the sensitivity turned up. We were told if we ever moved we could simply transfer service to the new home owner...now we are moving and that is definitely not the case. We can continue paying monthly for the equipment or pay for it out right. $700 for equipment we are not taking with us. Who does that? Why would we ever transfer our service with a company that conducts business like this? Never again Vivint. NEVER again.
Best company. Created by a brilliant man. Well driven employees to give you the best of the best. Gorgeous location. Wonderful motivating management. Good quality products. Smart people. 100% recommend to work for or for your home security system.
My experience is Great with Vivint however, I believe I have a proprietary idea which may give Vivint something very useful if provided and offered to your clients.
I am willing to share this idea (add on) to the security system.
I love everything about Vivint except your accounts receivable department. I have asked three times to be put on auto pay and two, as of yet, I have been removed for no appeArent reason and am no t notified of my bill being paid months later. I am on disability, therefore a fixed budget, and it is very difficult to pay three or four months at one time. Please Vivint get your accounts receivable department together
So far Vivint has shown a lot of ineptitude. They've come out twice and failed to fix simple problems like "thermostat offline" and "front door needs batteries." These things shouldn't be issues after 2 weeks of service.
Property managers reached out to Vivint to schedule a tech, but when I called they said they had no tech planned for the assigned time. At this point you're better off defending your house with pots and pans. At least you're not gonna spend your day with tech support and still not having the problem fixed.
Vivint is the WORST customer service I have EVER received. DO NOT use them. They are not professional and extremely unhelpful. I have used them for over 15 years and began in Houston TX. Since then the service has declined to a point that I cancelled two accounts. The billing doesn't talk to operations. All they care about is getting their money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I walked in and the front desk ladies painting their nails . The security guard is very rude when I was only going to drop off something . I called and they act very clueless . I don't understand what is going on and how they train their staffs but it's very unprofessional .
Vivint is great! We've had nothing but good experiences. Whether it's install, equipment or alarm drops Vivint comes through. I feel safe leaving my house & staying in it alone. Pricing is fair too!
Scam artists! They sold me this system about 2 years ago. The sales rep came to my house and told my husband and I that he was a manager and was trying to meet a goal in our area so he would pay the sign up charge of about $250 out of his own pocket if we signed up. He explained that it would be a 2 year contract. I was looking for a camera system for my home business but knew we planned on selling our home and moving in 2 years so a 2 year contract was reasonable. Well after he explained us through a huge digital contract and had us sign (our fault for not reading through ourselves), here we are 2 years down the road moving into an RV trying to cancel service and finding out that the sells rep lied to us. They said we signed a 5 year contract which we NEVER would have signed up for. Horrible experience! Feel like we have been scammed. My advice is use your own security off the internet or read the long contract to make sure you know exactly what your signing up for.
I have been using Vivint for 8 months now and love it! The phone app is incredible. I am able to disarm the system from my phone, let family and friends into our house without giving the door code out. I love this feature!!!
We have been very happy with our service with Vivint. We feel we are very secured at night as well as while we are away from the house. I'm also able to check on my kids while I am away and see how they are doing. My 4 year old child one time opened the door after a package was dropped off and the alarm went off. My wife was asleep and I was at work. I immediately received a message that the alarm went off and went to my camera events. I noticed that my child was the one who caused the alarm and we taught our child to never open the door unless she has adult supervision.
The customer service is top of the line as well. I can't say enough about Vivint and I am grateful for their service.
VIVINT'S System at our Lake Cottage, has given my wife & I piece of mind, knowing how secure our major investment is. Being notified & to see what's happening with my Camera's, to control our Deadbolt & our Heating system from any device, is huge in northern Canada. Customer Service is second to none, from the local Field personnel, to the call in Service Center. I can't wait till my contract is up with another provider, to put VIVINT into our Home in the City.
Vivint. What can I say... Peace of mind. Even when I am not in the house. The service is excellent. When having any problems they are a call away and they will reach you to help. No problem is small or big.
crap crap crap. I cannot believe these guys they over charge me 200.00 and keep hanging up on me cause i want a refund. This place is a joke. Then they want to send a bill to get more money from me? I would highly suggest going to adt instead
What an excellent group for our home security! We really appreciate your customer service, your security hardware, and your constant vigilance for the security of our home. Thank you.
Terrible, pushy, rude salesmen!!! Bad customer service. Overpriced, Definitely a total waste of time and money dealing with this company! If you see a Vivent Salesman run inside and lock the door and don't open it for anything!!!
I am writing this review on my Aunt Clementine Bartley's behalf. She absolutely love her security system. It has given her peace of mind for over 5 years. It helps my Mom and I since we live about 45 minutes to 1 hour away from her. We are so glad she found a security system that let's her live in her home and have the security needed against the evils of this world. She sleeps well at night. She doesn't feel afraid because she knows Vivint will have her back to the best of their ability. Great security company. Great folks to work with!
If there were a choice of Less than (1) star I would select it....Just waiting for my 4 year contract to end. I received a letter almost 1 year ago to unplug any lamp plugged into the wireless module that turns the light on/off. Spoke with Support 4 months ago...."That hasn't been sent to you yet? We will get one out to you immediately". We put the alarm system in because of an emergency alert pod so my wife could reach me in an emergency.......That was a joke: I have yet to be successful in getting support to change the notification from my email to a text to my cell phone. The control panel communicates with Vivint over my WiFi connection. There's been several times that my internet service has been down. The control panel is intermittent at best in sensing the connection loss. Finally, the recent interface that is called "A firmware update" sucks. Prior to the update the panel contained pleasant easy to read icons. After, the panel has "small" & "Unfocused" icons. Last fall we saw the CEO of Vivint on Undercover Boss....My thought was "He doesn't know anything about the poor service in SE Arkansas."
Vivint's Customer Service has been awesome. The technicians have always been professional and respectful of my home. Representatives who have assisted over the phone have consistently been pleasant and very helpful in resolving my inquiries. We're scheduled to get solar panels through Vivint and chose them because of the customer service we receive with their home security service.
Contract Nightmare Horrible customer service. I became a customer almost 4 years ago got someone to join less than 6 months later they got all kinds of upgrades we didn't get like doorbell camera second camera upgraded panel. I called to see about upgrading they wanted to charge us $900 to upgrade. I called last week after 4 years of being stuck under contract with them and still to upgrade going to charge us $300. We have outdated crapped equipment we pay a premium price for. If anything goes wrong with the equipment you spend hours troubleshooting with them on the phone if it doesn't fix then they will send a technician but BEWARE every service call is a change. DO NOT GO WITH this company!!!!
Oh and if you want to cancel they charge you the Full amount of the full contract
Left this review on their Facebook page 3 different times because they kept deleting it then they blocked me.
Any time we have had an alarm incident, vivint was very quick with response, and we have been very satisfied with the result. Updates for existing customers would be appreciated I.e. Peep hole camera, additional cameras, updated equipment...
I started out with Vivent when the equipment was not particularly consumer-friendly. The equipment used currently is much more reliable and easier to use.
Excellent service, I bought my niece a system for her home also and she loves it! I'm home alone a lot and I truly feel safe and secure with my system.
