If I could leave negative stars I would - this is absolutely the WORST business EVER! No one knows anything...they just transfer you over and over and never understand how to help. It is impossible to get in touch with them ... leaving a message though the website never gets answered and if you call in you will spend a minimum of one hour on hold before talking to anyone and again they won't be able to help you with anything. They OVERCHARGE and incorrectly charge your account - they are crooks! So frustrating!!

My parents home of 20 years was STOLEN BY PHH!!! Their mortgage company was OCWEN. They received a letter saying to send their payments to PHH. They soon got a call they are 2 months behind and being foreclosed on!!! Would not answer where the payments went!!!!! My dad was in the hospital from open heart surgery!!! He ended up dying MAY 4,2020. WE WERE HOMELESS MAY 6,2020. SUPPOSEDLY OUR HOME WAS AUCTIONED OFF. THE BUYER WAS DEUTSCHE BANK WHO HARASSED AND THREATENED US DURING QUARANTINE!!! DURING A WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC!! NOW BECAUSE OF THE WRONGFUL FORECLOSURE NO ONE WILL APPROVE US FOR A LEASE!! MY DAD DIED ALONE AND KNOWING WE WOULD BE HOMELESS!! MY DAD WAS A VETERAN AND A RETIRED BOAT CAPTAIN. MY MOM IS 72 AND HAS NEVER BEEN LATE ON A BILL EVER!! SHE HAS HAD THE SAME FULL TIME JOB FOR 26 YEARS AND HAS WORKED FULL TIME FOR OVER 50 YEARS! NEVER BEEN HOMELESS!! OCWEN, PHH AND DEUTSCHE ARE THE MOST CORRUPT, FILTHY, LYING THIEVING PIECES OF GARBAGE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!
Worst lender of all time. Worst customer service. If you have a chance to use someone different, do it. Just processed a refinance with another company and was told to stop my auto payments. I changed it to the 15th a few days before November 1. Payment still went through and these morons told me I had to make that change by the 20th the previous month.
Essentially their website is from the 1990's and so is their efficiency.
Finally, is it too much to ask to get routed to a call in America these days? I'm so sick of listening to someone read off a script who is being paid slave wages. It's gross. This company is gross and should be put out of business.
I have to unfortunately slam these people. Clearly customer service working off a script in some foreign country and can't even respond sensibly. I asked 5 times how to make a principal payment only. Each time they responded with information that was either nonsensical, incorrect, or inapplicable. It is amazing that such a large company can buy out mortgages in mass yet fail to provide basic customer service for the easiest of things.
I'm a Disabled Veteran. My dad passed away and left me and my brother his estate. I've been trying to make a payment since August 2018 and was told no. Since, I've been in contact with Office of the President and the woman refuses to do anything but ask for more time. They sent my dads home into illegal foreclosure and refuse to fix their mistake. Today, 2 Jan 2019 I called and nothing was done again. I was hung up on. The woman from the office of the president sent out a letter stating she needed time TWICE and she has done nothing. The case manager Shelly Robertson was given the case in OCT and still did not know my father is dead after I left her many voicemails stating who I am. Dan Rivera has done the most but there is never any follow through. Landscaping would be a better job for all these losers. I live in Sussex County Delaware. I'm a 90% disabled Veteran and so is my Fiance. They would rather put us out on the street then take the money that would bring the account current. If there is any help...I got the money, recorded phone calls of them admitting their faults, and alot of time on my hands. #ShadyMortgagePractices
When my wife and I bought our new home, we were financed through Guaranteed Rate. Approximately 1 year later we got a call from our Mortgage agent, who advised us we could refinance for a lower rate and save a considerable sum of money. Prior to that call, our mortgage was recently sold to PHH. They had our mortgage for 1 month and made it the worst possible experience. Their customer service personnel are wildly unprofessional and condescending. We were notified by our previous mortgage company of the change but received no paperwork from PHH. My wife had to call to get payment information in order to avoid a late payment. The woman she spoke to called her "Honey" and seemed unconcerned about the lack of communication from PHH. Additionally, we had to make several phone calls to ensure that our county taxes would be paid on time. No one was able to give us firm information on what date they would be paid. Their finance department is obviously incompetent, evident by the $2400 check I had to submit (Which, thankfully, Dan from Guaranteed Rate told us about, or PHH would have sent us to collections with no idea anything was wrong). They noted they collected almost $4000 from us that they had not, causing us to have to pay the title company additional money following our refinance. Alicia, a PHH payment specialist, is most likely the least helpful customer service agent on the planet. She expected the folks from Guaranteed Rate to fix the problem created by PHH. She only contacted us directly to take ownership and explain the problem after Guaranteed Rate included us in an email to her telling her that her handling of the situation was unacceptable. The gist of her call when she finally did contact us was to apologize and say "I'm glad you are back at Guaranteed Rate where you will get better customer service." In the end, we were notified on 9/20 that they wanted the money to resolve the issue by 9/23. Their inattention to detail cost us a lot of money out of pocket. Most people would be blindsided by having to come up with that amount on such short notice. In summary, there are plenty of places to use for your mortgage needs. PHH has earned the 1 star reviews. I had no choice being bought by PHH, but if you do, please take 5 mins to read the reviews from the BBB and use PHH with caution.
This is probably the worst company to do business with they claim to work with homeowners but they don t. They lie and lose paperwork consistently. They will charge extremely high fees and fraudulently add fees and make up and change policy as they go. They will trap you with no recourse if you get in a bind. Stay away or getaway if you can. RUN!
I have been sold into bondage. I am due a property tax decrease this year due to my age. PHH is asking me to pay more into my escrow account to make up a shortage that will not exist. When I ask to keep my payment the same, knowing there will be an excess in my escrow this year. Nooooooooooooo!! And if you pay short, your payment goes into suspense and does not count while they keep your money and wreck your credit . What a suck organization. I am sorry they bought my loan!
I'd give less than one star if I could. In 20 years of home ownership I have never had to call any mortgage company about messed up payments and then PHH came into my life.
PHH just took over my current 5 year old mortgage. I sent my first payment from my banks bill pay as I have always done and when I checked a few days later on their website I see it applied as an additional principal payment rather than my monthly payment. So I call and they tell me it will take a week to reverse it and apply it correctly. I Then ask them why this happened and all they can say is maybe they applied it wrong. So now every time I pay I have to follow up to make sure it's applied correctly or do my payments through their websites.
One of the worst lenders/companies I've had the misfortune of working with. After inheriting an existing mortgage and attempting to pay it off, every step of the way has been rife with confusion, miscommunication and antiquated delivery systems. First, the company lacks a standard integrated process for tracking information. When something goes wrong or you get cut off on the phone (or can't speak with someone), you have to start the claim all over again. Second, documentation takes weeks to months to receive; this is NEVER explicitly communicated unless you ask. Further, and throughout my experience, customer service has been abysmal and lacking in interest and/or consideration for lenders' concerns. Specifically, massive amounts of money, home ownership, and related projects are treated with the same temperament as a cashier ringing up your tomatoes the grocery store... I strongly encourage those in need of lending services to look ANYwhere else.
Can't get anybody on the phone, can't log in on the website, can't pay on the website, you get charge to pay your bill through western union, overall just BAD, I have no choice, my loan was sold to this people. Would not get a loan from them, if given a choice.
The worst company. Do Not use them. There reps are in the Philippines and do not speak English. They have no systems set up. I paid off the loan and for 3 months they called me asking where my payment was. I can not select zero stars so 1 start is better than they deserve.
I don't normally write reviews but I feel like I must say a few positive words for PHH. My ex-husband stopped making payments on our mortgage (which he was awarded in our divorce). Long story-short, I was forced to put the house up for a short sale. PHH was a dream to work with. For a very bad situation, they made it as easy as possible. The sale was approved within 24 hours and closed within 30 days. I understand that hold times can be long, but the customer service reps are always great. If you don't want to deal with a mortgage servicing company, do your homework and get your mortgage through a local bank that will hold your loan. As far as mortgage servicers go- they have been outstanding!
Poor customer service but what`s worst, their management team, they NEVER call back a customer! Ms Chamblis and Ms. Melony Long shame on both of you, do your job!
Absolute garbage company. The best part of dealing with them was when I found out they had sold my mortgage to another company. They did this without even as much as sending me an email, but I would expect nothing more from such a terrible organization. Their offshore employees are absolutely useless and their staff in the US are the most incompetent group of individuals I ve ever had to deal with. They make the cable company and the DMV shine in terms of customer service. If you find yourself with PHH go ahead and do yourself a favor, and find another mortgage company to take you on. Garbage, garbage, garbage. They deserve zero stars. Good riddance PHH!
Like many people here, got sucked into this company not by any choice of my own. I financed through TIAA-CREF, thinking this would be a good thing because they are so great to work with for my retirement account. MISTAKE! TIAA direct is a separate for profit company. They immediately sold my mortgage to this sham of a company. Immediately problems ensued. Every few months my payment changes, because of some kind "escrow shortage" or some other non-sense. When I try to get an explanation of where the discrepancy is coming from, they customer support in the Philippines is clueless, and just keep saying 'escrow shortage' over and over again. I tried to explain to them I live on something called a "budget" and need to have a consistent payment each month so that I can make sure there is enough money available for everything and can't have my bill changing by hundreds of dollars unexpectedly every few months. Like talking to a brick wall.
I have NEVER been able to access my account online, because it only shows me my old closed TIAA mortgage that was payed off and closed when it was sold. I spent 30 minutes on hold with another person in the Philippines to try to fix this, and all they did was change my password (which didn't need to be changed, I had no problem logging in) and then told me they couldn't fix the other issue because 'all of their servers were down.' Like another person who reviewed, I have seriously looked into refinancing and paying $5000 in fees just to get away from this horrible company.
All I wanted to do was get pay off information. Website locked me out. I called 4 separate times, you have to wait over 2 minutes listening to bs before they even start giving you options for why you are calling. Hold time was 7-10 each time before I could even talk to someone. We will never use this company again
This servicer just as its name prior is horrible. Ocwen never transferred my payments so I now am repurchasing a house I already own. They even lied to a federal government agency. They will have to answer to God one day. Every last one of them.
I had to deal with PHH Mortgage to settle my mother's estate. Ok, I can chalk up the cold service and absolute disregard for my personal situation as "business" but PHH fails miserably on the business end of things too. Lack of responsiveness was pervasive throughout each department. We even missed our closing date because PHH couldn't manage to get the title company a payoff amount within 2 weeks. Don't they want their money? I have too many examples to detail here. This is the worst mortgage company I have ever dealt with. Frankly, I've never had an issue with any mortgage company except this one.
PHH Lost our first mortgage payment and found it TWO months later after multiple calls everyday for the past TWO months . We also provided signed proof that it was delivered to them . Ruined our first home experience!
I would give them a negative review if I could. We are Harvey flood victims and they have OUR insurance money and have set up every road block possible to keep us from accessing our funds. Every incredible phone call they have a different story - FEMA rules, Fannie Mae rules, protecting their investors excuses. Truly incredible. Eight days ago they received our mortgage pay off IN FULL and although they verbally recognize the payoff, their system still doesn't recognize it so the process of releasing our lien cannot begin. We are being held hostage to their unconscionable business practices. They are a bunch of crooks.
Horrible service!!! We've been trying to get a loan modification for almost 8 years. They have tried to foreclose twice with NO notice to us. We found ourselves listed in our local paper. We have had 3 different attorneys and are still fighting the company. This company tells you one story on the phone and tells another by paper. They request paperwork then immediately foreclose without processing any paperwork. We have multiple hardships but it is of no use to fill out papers since they don't use them anyway. They have wrecked our credit by telling us to miss payments to qualify for certain programs then turn around and foreclose because it's behind. We make payments then they don't post them to our account or send payments back to us.I could go on and on and on. We get multiple calls offering programs and reduced payments then paperwork stating our payment is going up and our rate is changing. We have both had major health issues as a result of the stress of this situation.
PHH is one of the worst companies you can deal with. I never leave reviews but I have to warn you so no one further has to use such an inexperienced company. Their people are so uneducated when you call with a question, not only will you come out with that same question, you are likely to be left with even more questions! A horrible company to deal with. I STRONGLY encourage you to stay away from anything to do with PHH Mortgage Services... you will thank me later.
Very unpleasant company to work for. Very unprofessional and they randomly dump work on you. Nothing is organized or planned out. Wouldn't recommend it also heard they are constantly getting sued for doing shady business. I believe it.
This incompetent company lost my Mortgage payment and told me they never received it. So I sent them the tracking number with the person who signed for it. Now the chimps are saying they found the envelope BUT there was nothing in it. So you never received it and now you found the envelope and there is nothing in it. Do they think I go round sending mortgage payments plus Priority Mail next day (19.99) for no reason. So now I have to prove that I sent the money. I did in a money order and I have the money order receipt. Oh yeah the money was for 1/1/2016 I sent it 12/29/2015 it was delivered 12/30/2015. Now I Guess they will have to come up with a NEW LIE.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! OCWEN DID US DIRTY BY SELLING TO THIS COMPANY THAT YOU CANNOT GET A HOLD OF AT ANYTIME. HOLD TIMES ARE RIDICULOUS AND NO ONE UNDERSTANDS OR KNOWS HOW TO RESOLVE ISSUES! VERY ANGRY AND FRUSTRATED CUSTOMER!
Horrible! Worst customer service ever. Website is a joke to navigate. I can't wait to refinance with someone else so I never have to deal with them again.
Their customer service lines are dreadful!!! On my fourth call now waiting after they disconnected the line three times after each hold time being more than 30 minutes each!
Ocwen owns this pos company which I just got notice they cancelled my force placed insurance ocwen put on me because ocwen failed to make my insurance payment per my contract and they admitted fault so I got cancelled !! So I lost my $250 deductible it would have went to $1000 deductible and over double my premium so now they cancelled my force placed insurance and sold my mortgage to phh their own company SMFH ocwen are thieves
It amazes me that what they do is legal. I've seriously considered refinancing just to get a new company that takes on my mortgage, even if it wasn't a better rate.
Their website is atrocious! There are several huge security red flags. Oh, and I love the part where the only viable online option for payment is through Western Union. Or how the auto payments just don't work, and there's no notification that they fail or that there was anything wrong.
Or the issue I'm having now... I can't even log in! It asks me to "answer the security question," but there is no question on the whole page! Tried several browsers (oh yeah, cuz they say they don't support Chrome...).
They should be shut down. I'm surprised they have anything more than a 1.0 on Google Reviews.
I would rate it zero if i could! I m a contractor who recently received a check from phh mortgage, check was payable to my company and customer. Account number on the check was blurry, therefore the mortgage company had to stop the check, which they informed would take no longer than 10 business days. Here we are 35 days later, with no response, no check and customer with a past due balance of over 5.000. I wish they would take customers more serious!
These guys (1) messed up all my contact information (transposed numbers) -how do I know they didn't mess anything up (2) hold time is average 20-minutes (3) they really are cumbersome when calling.
I have never ever experienced such poor customer service with a place of business their communication is broken and very hard to understand and no one never knows what s going on they are so inconsistent from Rep.to Rep. right down to the supervisor I am praying that my loan get a transfer to a better service provider this is ridiculous
This is the worst mortgage company that I have ever heard of and had to deal with. They raised my mortgage payment $400 in less than one year. I've never seen a more incompetent company.
Zero service or compassion from them. Oh they advertise how they want to help you but it's a lie. Scamming people is totally wrong and I certainly don't know how they stay in business or how they get so many loans transferred to them.
disgusting experience, 1/12/15 to 1/15/15 mailed my monthly mortgage amount, excess funds were taken from my checking account without my permission, have been getting the runaround for 3 days, numerous customer service ( joke) people shuffling me around hours on the phone, faxing them statements that they claim they did not receive, blood pressure rising, not up to morgan stanley standards as far as im concerned. they are better than that.
you must read this!!!! of course was connected to india but they were helpful. was informed that no matter how much I paid down the mortgage, I was going to have the same payment month-to-month. my payment is 2600 a month. I paid down a100,000 but my payment was going to be the same. they were going to pay more to the principle every month. makes no sense that they would tell me how much to put on my principle. even if my principle was 5000 I would have to pay the 2600 a month. I'm paying off my mortgage with them and will re-finance the house for a more stable and sane mortgage. they get one star cause the people on the phone were very helpful
For three months I have been trying to handle an issues and never heard anything. They kept deining my request for assistance and not getting in touch with me at all. So thank you for giving me and my family a happy Christmas this year like always. My credit score got all jacked up since they don't want to help anyone. I thought I was the only one but as I see they are a topically company only care about money and none of thier customers. They are a representative of thier USAA plain terrible, mean and care about money only.
I would give zero if I could. Mortgage was transferred here and I hate it. Website won't let me register an account. Was told that they are working on it. Weeks later still can't register. If I pay over the phone it's $7.50 fee. If I want to pay online it's a $7.50 fee unless I opt for paperless statements (neither of which are possible since the website does not work). I hate wasting stamps and checks for payments when every other company lets you pay online. I feel like it's the 50's. Their customer service reps can't solve or do anything useful.
Unfortunately my mortgage was sold to this pathetic excuse for a company. My mortgage had a $14.50 service charge added, months of trying to get answers as to why. Worst customer service I ve ever experienced. This company is awful. Don t ever try to call, all you will do is waste your time. NOTHING ever gets resolved, transfer from person to person. If there was a way to give PHH negative stars. TERRIBLE COMPANY! If the choice is your to pic your mortgage company, DO NOT choose PHH!
This company deserves 0 stars. Very poor customer service. No one understands or can help you with your account. My account has been placed in Litigation status twice and no one there can tell me why. I have been trying to get an answer since Fri, May 31st. Now today day June 3rd I m back on hold and still no answer. I ve been on hold for over 2 hours. I ve spoken with over 8 different people. I cannot make a payment because of the type of hold they have one my account.
I spoke to a supervisor by the name of Yash Amarnan and she wasn t listening to anything I had to say. I will be call corporate on her.
After being on the phone for more than three hours I was only one person listened to what I had to say and attempted to help me. Her name is Tamiko; ID number DTM. The call was disconnected and she took the time to call me back.
Horrible! They claim I am 3 months behind and threatening foreclosure-I provided proof. They continue to send me incorrect invoices and threatening notices despite my providing proof. Isn t this some kind of fraud and a punishable Rico offense?
this company is the absolute worst. they wait until the last second to request information to release payments the should have released weeks ago. I didn't chose this company they bought my loan. I have/had several mortgages and PHH's incompetence is unparalleled
Awful! Our mortgage sadly was transferred to PHH. For years we were paying biweekly, so we pay ahead of our due date. Recently received late payment note from PHH, saying my mortgage is overdue. I checked my account and find out that PHH applied my first payment as principle pay down and not as regular payments. Call several times ( needless to say was on hold for 30-45 minutes) to resolve this issue. Operators are clueless and can do nothing except giving me a fax number to send my request. I sent writing request last week. So frustrating.
This company is the worse! They are so frustrating to work with and unfortunately I'm forced to deal with them as it is the only mortgage company my credit union uses. If you have ANY other choice, go elsewhere. I would give zero stars if I could.
As others said 1 star is generous. DO not Use. I have been a customer of theirs for quite some time and it's terrible what they "tried" to pull. They ONLY care about the quick buck..not considering how much more value a life a life time customer can be if they were thoughtful.
My customer interaction was excellent. The individual with whom I spoke was kind, courteous and professional. All of my questions were answered in a matter of minutes.
I want to rate them zero !Terrible. Difficult to get someone on the line and when I do the connection is terrible. I just tried and the CS rep is in India. Phone connection breaks up. PHH Mortgage doesn t care about their customers. AND I m trying to make a payment ! HSBC had the loan and transferred it to PHH. FRUSTRATING !!
Been trying to get a modification for over a year. It was supposed to take 30 days and I get a notice saying it will take longer. Eight months later they finally gave me an answer, no. I file again because I got a promotion at work. Three months later I finally get an answer, no. Trying the appeal process now. Meanwhile, I have been receiving a bill every month and the late fees keep piling up after I was told specially not to make another payment until the modification has gone through. I owe more now than I initially paid for the house. Useless company who can t file paperwork correctly. If your mortgage company sells your mortgage to them get it refinanced with someone else quick.
I worked for the company over 15 years ago when it was Cendant Mortgage. Their dedication to customer service was second to none. I have 5 mortgages with the company and the servicing is flawless to this day. I refinanced one of my loans 2 years ago, it was so simple, I didn't even need to go to closing - just signed docs that arrived at my house.
I know it's not exactly the company it was, and there are rumors it is selling but I am grateful for the time I was with them.
These guys are the worst!! It's almost worth taking the beating in finance charges to change my company. My mortgage was sold to them so I'm kinda out of luck but anyone looking to do business with them RUN!!! Their online service is probably the worst. Spent a summer with no money trying in vain to set up automatic withdrawals. Don't bother. Jusy mail a check.
As usual, another mortgage company that refuses to answer the phone, yet sends threatening letters and does not allow you to even reach them to notify they are wrong and you have made all your payments, etc. They took over for another fraudulent company and seem to be full of it also.
I have no idea how these people still ion business .i want to get a mortgage statement they said you have payment with coupon book so I cant see online statement and I don t have the access . Last more than 10 years direct debit from my checking account. Then how they can say . SO horrible customer service. Ask to hold and after 20 min they hang up.
This place is a absolute nightmare. I was on hold for 40 minutes and the lady who took my call had no idea what she was doing. The monthly payment for my mortgage shot up $100 when it was transferred to this PHH Mortgage and no one can figure out why. While on the phone with the rep she asked me if my problem was taking care of while I was address to her my issue. This happened twice during our conversation.
This mortgage lender is an absolute joke. I filed a 3 month forbearance and when I called they said they would allow it but I would need to pay 3 months of Mortgage on July 1st. How would I be able to pay 3 months of mortgage on 1 day if I m having a hard time keeping up with the current month. I never hated anything more in life than this mortgage lender, ever since they took over for Ocwen it s been a nightmare. I dream of the day when I don t have to deal with PHH
Dread having to work with their team on any issues or the mortgage process, second time round with them and it got worse when you think it would have been easier since I was an established customer
i never write reviews but i feel this company is the absolute worst. 8 years ago i got separated and was left to pay my mortgage alone.i tried 6 times in 2 years to get help from phh with my payments .they kept advising me to apply for help .so i did and was always turned down . i was self employed and due to the slowng ecomony i was really struggling. they had not one ounce of sympathy . i wrote letters to rob Andrews office and to the president of phh. rob Andrew office couldn't help . the reason i was turned down was because my income didn't support my payment .and my credit was bad because they wouldn't take mortgage payments that were more than a month behind. And i didnt make enough to qualify for any program.most people applying for help was because their income went down . i had to supply countless documents and trying to get anyone on the phone was a complete joke. i then tried to file a lawsuit when i saw in the newspaper that they were negligent in helping people. i got another letter saying the lawsuit doesn't pertain to my situation. .i then tried to do a short sale and got 3 offers which they wouldn't accept. i then filed bankruptcy ..The best part is i was a 10 year employee of this company and was laid off on good terms .i then after 2 years got locked out of my house n moved . my home is still sitting there 4 years now and still isn't forclosed on. the best is they are sending me letters to try n work with me now. ha what a joke!. they have the absolute worst customer service and are the most fraudulent company have ever dealt with i don't know how they are still in business . . I CANT BELEIVE ITS THE SAME COMPANY I WORKED FOR THAT STRIVED ON GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE
My experience with PHH Mortgage is not a good one. Somehow, they never received a payment I sent so I stopped payment on the check. Customer service appears to be in India and they are no help. My mortgage company for some reason switch me over to them. SMH
This is the absolute worst mortgage servicing company that I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. If I could rate them with negative stars I would! Their costumer service agents are rude and do not have answers for even the simplest questions you could raise. Their website is constantly down so you are forced to call and talk to a representative. Even the upper level managers have no power or just flat out lie. The payment processing is a joke, the website does not work and checks that you send to their mailing address shown on the statement get "lost" and returned months later. Meanwhile you are racking up late fees due to their errors. I have had multiple agents promise to remove late fees (yes several) that they acknowledge were incurred due to error on their part, yet after the conversation ends you get a letter in the mail stating the fee was assessed correctly and will not be removed. The latest stunt they pulled was having an independent broker come out to do an appraisal and not stating that 1. There was a fee for this and 2. That that fee would be passed on to you at 4x the actual cost (since when does a BPO cost almost $500?!?). When PHH was called Ocwen they were bad enough, but at least their website worked. If you have a mortgage with them RUN! and if you are considering signing a loan that will be managed by them, save yourself time and money and don't.
Absolutely horrible customer service. They never send emails. They call but no one is on the phone and don t leave messages. They argue with you on the phone. Do yourself a favor and find another Mortgage company.
Absolutely horrible responsiveness. My mortgage was sold to PHH on Nov 15 2018. I asked them in writing and via phone to notify my city that they hold my escrow and will be paying my property taxes. Now taxes are due on Feb 1, 2019, they told me they are scheduled to pay my taxes but it is the wrong amount. My case was escalated a couple days and 3 of 4 reps and supervisors promised to call back but none did. The case is still open and my taxes are due tomorrow. I also contacted PHH via their portal' email but I received no response from either of my messages. This is unprofessional and I forewarned the company that no late fees, penalties, or accrued interest on outstanding taxes will come from my escrow since PHH did not contact the city as they have not shown me any proof. I am also concerned about intangible damages from possible negative public records such as lower credit score due to penalties or insufficient payment to the city. There is a reason why PHH has not asked me to complete a survey. I am appalled by this company especially because I had no choice in choosing who my mortgage is sold to. I would have given less than one star if that was possible. I must find a way to get my mortgage away from PHH!
I am extremely dissatisfied with this company. I never chose them, my mortgage was acquired when they merged with Ocwen...they were awful as well. Their customer service is substandard. They choose to us offshore back office support rather than American workers. Ridiculous hold times...absolutely the worst!
Definitely the worst thing that has ever happened to me. Was out of work for 2mos and from day 1 tried to do a modification, company dragged the modification out for 1yr and wouldn't allow payments to restart while they deliberated. Once modification was completed I found out that they were reporting non-payment to credit bureaus. Credit score dropped from 765-522 because of these scam artists. Trying to dispute with them but looks like I will need to take legal action. Show them no loyalty because they will show you none. I could have refinanced through hundreds of others... LESSON LEARNED
This is the 3rd Mortgage Co. my mortgage has been transferred to since I bought my house. Unfortunately their customer service is the worst. They must contract people from the far East and you can hardly understand them and they never have any answers to my questions. my mortgage "agent" is never available and they are clueless!!!
If you happen to have a loan with them and figure why not refinance, DON'T DO IT. I just had the worst experience where they stalled and ran out the clock on my rate lock even though they had all of my documentation and tried to bait and switch me into a higher rate. Then they charge me a $600 non refundable application fee to add insult to injury after wasting months of my time. Make sure you go to a loan broker who you can trust and they will source you a loan from many trustworthy sources. This one is the worst and lesson learned, there is no efficiency in refinancing with who you already have a loan with.
Our mortgage was sold to PHH Mortgage over 1 year ago. I had given approval for automatic draft to the prior lender so apparently it transferred to PHH Mortgage. A couple months in I was told that I didn't have sufficient escrow allocated so set up a higher automatic payment per month with them. For several months my savings account was drafted twice -once for the prior and once for the new amount. I called several times to sort this out and each time they gave me a different explanation. Finally I put a 'stop payment' for one of the payments through my bank. Now they are charging me $50 service fee for this, even though they acknowledge that my account is in good standing. They say there is no record of me calling to cancel one of the two payments!?!? Months of frustration with this company. I refinanced for the same rate just to get away from this company. I cannot prove it because I'm not an expert but this company seems to have fraudulent practices. I will never deal with them again.
i just received a call from PHH & they changed my payment for 1 month and the difference is $25.45. I spoke to Sushant Bhote, he was rude & wanted to charge me $17.00 to take my payment over the phone. No I am not paying $17.00 to make a payment. After I made the payment, he asked when will I make the November payment??? I am done with PHH Mortgage, I think I will re-finance and get another company.
Before Owen brought them I had good correspondence. I admit I wasn't on top of things when my life took a turn. Every time I call it's someone in India. They don't care or understand you. I have a case manager I cant get a hold of not can I even say his name. I am going to try again today. One star
I've read everyone's negative remarks and I agree but rather than we keep complaining, does anyone have any legal backing to petition them right out of our lives? I had Ocwen and this sorry excuse for a company took my mortgage over. They are incompetent and I truly hope there is some kind of way God hears my prayers and relieves us from their snare!
If I could leave zero or negative stars I would. This company has the worst customer service ever. The only people I can speak to are through their call center in India. The reps are rude and when they get tired of talking to you, they either hang up or put you on hold forever. I even had someone that supposedly was an escalation manager named Ross treat me horribly. I have made my payment the exact same way every month for 6 years and now when I am trying to refinance with another company, they haven't been able to locate my payment for 3 weeks preventing me from getting an accurate payoff and adding more interest to my account. Is this how they try to keep their customers???? Beware. If this is your mortgage company, get away as soon as possible. If they are not your mortgage company, go with anyone besides them. You will be glad you did.
My home loan was bought or sold to this horrible company been waiting almost 3 months for payoff request from my attorney as I sold the house and have had to move the closing 3 times and day of closing they decide to put house in Foreclosure status and are refusing to give us payoff amount total. Stay far away from this company.
The modern world left this ancient company behind. They just bought out my mortgage and make it super difficult to pay my monthly bill. Fee for this and a fee for that. The only way to pay is with paper and stamp. So far they are terrible.
