I don't normally write reviews but I feel like I must say a few positive words for PHH. My ex-husband stopped making payments on our mortgage (which he was awarded in our divorce). Long story-short, I was forced to put the house up for a short sale. PHH was a dream to work with. For a very bad situation, they made it as easy as possible. The sale was approved within 24 hours and closed within 30 days.
I understand that hold times can be long, but the customer service reps are always great. If you don't want to deal with a mortgage servicing company, do your homework and get your mortgage through a local bank that will hold your loan.
As far as mortgage servicers go- they have been outstanding!
