Terrible Experience, My brother want to purchase his first Toyota here, he talk to a sales agent by phone and the sales agent said his manager agree on to match the OTD price my brother request. so my brother decide to go and talk in person with this agent. The agent provide his service in a very polite way, he explain every detail to my brother, but his manager make us feel upset about this place. The way my brother decide to pay is financing, so he provide his info to Sunnyvale Toyota for checking if his loan would be approved, and after they decided it could be issued to my brother, the manager regret on the price he was promising, and he even talk to my brother in a threatening manner that if my brother pull back his purchase now, his credit would be impacted. That s really unbelievable! This should not be the way a professional dealer run their business, you should be honest to your customer, create the bond that make us feel you are trustworthy, not to lying on them, try to get them to your place to make the deal done. Such deed really make my brother and his wife feel uncomfortable and disgusting

Service: They scratch your car and treat you rude....

Service: They scratch your car and treat you rude. This was my first time at toyota sunnyvale. I went in for 30k mile service. Ivonne was assigned to me as adviser. The following went wrong.

1. Promised it ll be ready 2 hours. Took more than 6 hours.
2. Car came with a scratch. When I asked about this, I was treated with blunt answers with no explanation or solution.
3. Tried to charge me $630. Changed it to $479 after I showed the estimate paper from morning.

Beware of the below points too.
1. Get the Toyota care first thing. Toyota care costs $459 and it covers all the recommended services for upto 45k miles (includes 4 regular services). Toyota Sunnyvale will try to charge you $650 for just this $30k service. They'll try to scare you how Toyota plan doesn't cover 'recommended ' services.
2. Their shuttle service is a joke. Don't count on them if you have to get back to work on time. I had been waiting more than an hour. The cashier told me they have only one driver. Each time he takes about 4-5 people and it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours for him to return.

Update: they have fixed the scratch since then. So, increasing it to two stars.

TL;DR - don't go here. Find a smaller business with someone who you can trust to do the work for a reasonable price and treat you with respect.

Can I give them zero stars? I scheduled a service and still had trouble through the entire process. "Sonny," the service person I worked with, was inefficient, unknowledgeable about the service, and uncommunicative.

I dropped off my car at 8:00am for a simple check in and was told I would get a call sometime during the day with an update. I didn't hear from him until 4, missed the call and then tried to call back LITERALLY 8 times before someone actually helped me get in touch with him. I was then told my car was "just getting finished." (At 5:30pm - they close at 7), then called back at 6pm to say the car wasn't ready.

I finally went over there at 6:30 to pick it up and had a 35 min conversation with Sonny trying to get information about what work needed to be done on my car. What I learned was this: they want to charge $162/hr for maintenance, WHICH IS INSANE, and they want to replace everything that could possibly make them a dime.

Marius Coroiu was excellent to work with. During the sale, he was very pleasant and once we had decided on our purchase and the price, he was very meticulous in making sure that all the options including the carpet accessories were selected and installed to our satisfaction. After the sale, he also helped us to get a tow hitch installed on the car at a discounted price. When I went back to get the tow hitch installed, there was a long line of cars waiting. Marius took the trouble of coming all the way out on to the road to make sure I was there and ensure that the service department knew about my installation details and discount. Overall, we were extremely happy with our experience buying from Marius Coroiu and Toyota Sunnyvale.

I love the car, before I purchase it, I had visit the Steven Creek Toyota, they push you so hard, I visit only about 20minutes, the manager offer you a price which is not that good actually, and told me only today which is ridiculous. sunnyvale is super nice, I mean the Chinese sales Luke Zhang he is a super super nice guy, he tried so hard to help me since I first time meet him, so I decided to purchase the car here only at the second week, cause I got a ideal offer and the best service here.

Service is first rate at Toyota Sunnyvale. The hours of business are long and convenient. I find their service managers very knowledgeable and quick to keep me informed on progress, discovered issues, and costs. They are also right on the VTA 22/522 bus route.

I recently bought corolla from Toyota sunnyvale. One thing i would appreciate is customer handling. They give enough time and support during the sales process. They will be courteous and friendly and make you feel at home. I spend few hours on overall sales process and everything looked fine. But next day i discovered few things

1) I had spent significant time negotiating the deal and thought i got the best prices. The sales manager in fact told me that he will be at loss and showed me figures on his system (obviously by showing negative figure in your system does not mean you will not make any profit or good profit) But next day i met my colleague and found out that he bought the same model from them few days ago at lesser price and without negotiation. So crux of the matter, please do search well for the price and dont buy in their negative figures on their system. We all know they are not sitting to make loss

2) I paid everything via cash ( no mortgage) and they still ran my credit check. This really offended me and one of the key reasons for average feedback. So please ask them if they are gonna to run credit check without any reason. I personally didnt like much the finance guy as his smile and behavior was totally fake.

So far i don t have any other serious problem with them. Once again i would Thanks them for their good customer service ( compare to other toyota dealers in bay area) but they still have big scope to improve to provide excellent customer care.

I am very pleased with my experience at Toyota Sunnyvale. I made several visits to the New Car and Used Car dealerships, as I was seeking the best value across multiple models for lease or purchase. In the end, I leased a Toyota Corolla. I am very pleased that I ended up with a brand new car with more features than I expected, at a lower price than older model years with fewer features.

LeAnne and Jim were professional, courteous and patient as I test drove multiple models, model years and trim lines. I enjoyed having LeAnne as my salesperson; she addressed my questions and concerns honestly, and even made the experience fun! It was comforting to learn that Toyota sales staff do not work on commissions; this mostly eliminates high-pressure sales tactics.

LeAnne and Jim were dedicated. They tracked down cars within my parameters, including letting me preview some used vehicles that were not yet for sale.

A minor frustration was that when it finally came time to get the financing and lease terms from the sales managers, the term sheet on multiple occasions was higher than what was advertised on TV or the Toyota Sunnyvale website. Fortunately, after a couple iterations, the General Manager agreed to match the lease offer I had seen advertised, both in number and in form (explicitly listing the rebates, cashback, etc. so all the top- and mid-line numbers matched too).

In the end, I got more than I wanted, in a newer model than expected, at the price I needed and saw advertised. LeAnne also kindly and cheerfully delivered the car to me, exactly when and where I needed it, so I didn't have to make a special Lyft to pick up my car at the dealership.

Worst experience ever, we drove 35 mins and wanted to buy our first car here. The salesman Albert is professional and polite, so we were thinking of buying a car with him. However, the experience we had with his manager was horrible! The manager back out of the deal with the price we had agreed on the phone, and he didn t tell us that he couldn t match the price before he ran the credit check either - which wasted another 30 mins. This was disgusting, no matter how you want make this deal, you shouldn t lie to your customer just to attract them to your office. When we decided not to buy from them he even told us that if we run our credit check (we want to do finance) with another dealer it will impact on our credit points - which has been proven to be a lie later. I can t believe a dealer with such good comments on google did such cheap move! This shouldn t be a way you treat your customer. This dealer has lost our business forever. We sincerely suggest everyone who wants to buy Toyota avoid this dealer or be ready of loosing your precious times for they might change their mind at the last minute.

My recent experience was horrible, even being a loyal customer for 4 years. Staff at service center is very rude and use age and gender discriminative terms with customer. My tire pressure sensor with full battery was disabled by them to charge whopping 1000 dollars for replacement. I took it to another Toyota and was told it's still working. Avoid as much as you can!

I signed for a $170 diagnostic. Abraham came back with the diagnosis (vacuum error - 99% chance the gas cap is bad). No BS, they knocked my $170 down to $85 'cuz they did it so quick.

I wanted to purchase a compact used car, 2015 or so, with fewer than 12000 miles. Honda Civic was on my list of possibilities. My first and primary priority, however, was the "fit" of a new car. I'm 5'2" and many newer cars have smallish windows. I'm not comfortable with my sight lines.
I saw this '16 Civic was on sale so I set up an appointment -- just to sit in the car. John Ewell was accommodating. After sitting in the parked car and looking around the cabin, I asked if I could take a test drive (not my original intention.) All good, no pressure whatsoever from John. I checked out some other small cars.
Two days later, I returned and was aided by Socrates. I took another test drive, this time on the freeway, and confirmed this was the car for me! Socrates was also was very accommodating, I bought it!
I had follow-up questions, called Socrates back. He was very friendly and helpful. I returned the next day. Again John was there and took all the time I needed.

I have the misfortune to live on the street behind their service department, and today and almost every day there is non-stop honking and car alarms going off. I kept track for 10 minutes, of these there were two minutes with no honking or a car alarm. I hope the employees and management are forced to live here and have their weekends ruined. I will be going to Stevens Creek for my next Toyota.

I have an exact experience with Sougata. Brought my 2015 prius for a checkup. My rep helping me calls me and said I had a light on in my car that says my tire pressure is off. Which indicated that I had a nail in my tire wall that cannot be repaired and that I need a new tire for about $190+. I literally dropped off my car and did not see any light come in. I will not repair it with Toyota and I will not be coming back.

Erick was a pleasure to work with. He went above and beyond the usual used car sales experience I have had in the past.
The Van we purchased was a Dodge Grand Caravan ES, 2003 model, I pointed out to Erick that the tires had the bare minimum tread of 2/32nds and he went to Tom McDonald and he approved a brand new set of tires. We were very happy and purchased the van the evening of 04/16/13. I then took it to my mechanic, whom we have used for over 15 years, and he voiced some concerns. We went back to the dealership and showed the report to a salesperson and he had us speak with Frank. He said that there was nothing that could be done. At that point since one of our mechanic's concers was a cracked motor mount we invoked the 3 day/250 mile return option and sold the van back to Sunnyvale Toyota.The next day Erick, not knowing what happened yet, texted my wife and asked what happened and she let him know. When we arrived on Friday 04/19/13 at 1:45 pm to pick up our check for the full amount of our contract we were told that no one was sure which Toyota Sunnyvale lot it was at. Erick took us in to talk to Tom and he had the Service Manager look over the van to let us know what he saw. He saw some of the smae issues as our mechanic but explained why they were minor and did not need repair and did not compromise the safety of the van. At that point we were happy to take the van back. Bart was very helpful in reversing the transaction of 04//18//13 selling the van back to Toyota Sunnyvale, some minor DMV paperwork and we were out the door the second time with the van. We went out of town this weekend and when I turned on the headlights the instrument cluster remained dark. I managed to make it home safely and started checking fuses as that seemed most likely as all gauges worked fine, just the illumination problem. In the meantime my Wife sent Erick a text about the issue and within minutes he sent her an article about someone having a similar problem, one option was to disconnect the battery, wait 15 minutes and reconnect the battery to see if that re set the illumination on the instrument cluster. I was dubious but gave it a shot. Lo and Behold it solved the issue and were on our way. We just got back after a 500+ mile trip and the van ran great. I will recommend Toyota Sunnyvale to everyone I know as everyone on your staff througout this experience maintained a
"no problem" "keep the customer" happy attitude. I would especially recommend Erick and when my other vehicle, a 2007 Rav 4,needs replacing your Dealership will be the first place I would start looking and hope to buy from you in the future.

John Le in the Direct Sales department helped me purchase my new 2018 Prius in Feb. 2018. I can honestly say that John's service, patient demeanor, and warmth are truly exceptional. My mother and I had visited several dealerships in the Bay Area only to be met with aggressive, sneering and dismissive salesmen. John let us test drive several cars, and stayed late despite having a cold to answer our questions. We really, really appreciated his honest attitude and his quality service stood in stark contrast to our other negative experiences. The next day, we signed the deal with great confidence and worked with Kevin (also great!) to finalize everything. I only wish that my mom and I had met John Le at the beginning of our car buying journey! That would have made our weekend so much easier. We'll be recommending him to everyone we know. And seriously, do yourself a favor and go through the Direct Sales department instead of the sales floor. The service is light years better. See you for our next car, John!

I recently bought a new car from Toyota Sunnyvale. I got there just as they were closing on a Friday night and they were happy to stay late and help me with my purchase. I woke up the next morning and decided I wanted a different model than what I bought. Toyota Sunnyvale has a return policy and they gladly exchanged the car I purchased for the other model I wanted. I've never returned a car in my life, and never thought I would, but I am very happy Toyota Sunnyvale offered this policy and were so gracious in helping me with the other model I wanted. I highly recommend purchasing from them!

The service department messed up my appointment. I called to make appointment for 4/2/16 12PM, then called in again the morning of to confirm. It was for wheel alignment and airbag recall. The girl confirmed that they'd have the parts in and can get the car done by the end of the day.

Came to the service at 11:30 and waited for an hour before anyone/service advisor help us just to find out she couldn't find my 12PM appointment! And they haven't even ordered the parts. I basically waited an hour for nothing and the appointment was useless!

This will be the first and last time coming to service my parents car at this dealer.

My Camry is Completely Spoiled, fixed Wrong Axle, I left my Camry for service and reported getting some vibration in steering when I drive in Highway. They told to replace the axle, and the Axle has been sent by my warranty which is wrong Size, The Service center without even checking the whether it is proper Size or not , they fixed the axle and delivered to me. Now My Camry is completely spoiled had some leakage and again unfortunately left the car in in the same service center. Now The Warranty and Service guy are playing ping pong on me.

Awful experience, went to help my brother get a decent used car at a decent price, or so we thought. He bought a 2014 Jetta TDI, and noticed a slight tremor on the first test drive as it shifted gears, and then asked them to look into it. Supposedly the mechanic couldn t find anything wrong, so he thought it was just warped rotors or something to that effect and went ahead with the purchase. Then he brought the car in to a mechanic right after purchase find out the transmission fluid looked horrible and the transmission needs to be replaced. Kind of crazy that a dealership would be so dishonest, but they re not backing the car or their word, so it s probably going to have to be a BBB follow up and everything. Really terrible though, I would avoid this place and go somewhere that isn t happy enough to scam an unfortunate college student.

I just went in and purchased a brand new 2013 Prius C one. Everything went smoothly and was very hassle free.

They had the exact car I wanted, right color, and the deal was pretty sweet too!

I spoke with Reisa Grimaldo over the phone about my financing needs and the car I wanted. She was very professional, answered all my questions, and was prompt to return my calls and emails. I highly recommend her and will gladly send her more customers.

When I came in to see the car in person, she already had the car detailed, filled with gas, and even started the paperwork to save me a HUGE amount of time!

She is truly one of the best sales consultants I have ever dealt with and cannot give her enough praise. if you or ANYONE you know needs a new Toyota go see Reisa.

Jude is an exceptional employee. He was SO polite and kind. Nonetheless, this dealership sold us a car without disclosing that the timing belt was all but destroyed and way past due for replacement. I was terribly unimpressed by the dishonesty and lack of respect for customers. We showed up to return the car within the 3-day grace period and the manager told us we d have to wait over an hour for him to help us...and then we watched him loiter at the front desk. Jude saw this and came to our rescue!! He helped us out quickly and without any hassle or disrespect. I was so grateful. That said, the dealership still was dishonest about the car they sold us and we won t be coming back. I sure hope they appreciate Jude, he s the one good thing they have going for them!

Bill was great to work with this last time - ensured that a factory warranty inspected a potential issue, and the manager of service is always super helpful.

My girlfriend and I were in a few days ago looking for a used car and we were taken care of by, quite honestly, the best car person I've ever met - Josh. I say car "person" rather than "salesman" because that's what he was, a person, rather than some robotic shell of a man/woman with scripted lines in order to handle any "no" I give him. He immediately made us feel at home, took the time to figure out OUR needs instead of HIS needs (as a salesman), was never pushy, and best of all - treated us as a friend that he wanted to help rather than a wallet that could boost his sales. I would HIGHLY suggest coming to this dealer and asking for Josh if you are tired of dealing with the stereotypical pushy salesman, and are truly looking for someone to help/guide you through the process of finding the best car for you.

I recently purchased a new Rav 4 at Toyota Sunnyvale and had a wonderful experience with the entire process. Gil Mota, my sales person, was kind, honest, and a good listener. He let me test drive the car for almost an hour, and never pushed me further than I was willing to go. On the contrary, Gil, as well as Dan, the manager, made sure they found the car that best served my needs and gave me a good price.

I already had a very good opinion of the service department, where I have been bringing my Sienna for maintenance and repairs for many years. My car buying experience was exiting and easy. I was treated like a person, rather than being just another buyer. Toyota Sunnyvale cares about customer service; its employees are courteous, helpful, and professional.

I bought my car 3 months back and last week it showed check light engine on. I took it to this place and they mentioned it was due to loose gas cap and it was fixed. Again, on Monday check light was on and I went back narrating my previous experience and also mentioning them that I made sure to tighten the cap after fueling. The rep was rude, adamant and told me that they will charge me if they found out that it was loose gas cap again, ARE THEY REALLY KIDDING ME THAT I WOULD INTENTIONALLY LEAVE IT OPEN AND I HAVE SO MUCH TIME TO COME BACK AND FORTH!! After a couple hours they called back to tell me that there is some other error and I need to contact my insurance. The rep didn't care to explain me thoroughly what is wrong and tried to pin point that it is my mistake and my insurance personnel needs to go and inspect. No choice, I asked my insurance to come and inspect and now they have different versions to the problem. And finally they are asking me to get filler pipe and FUEL TANK to be replaced. I do not understand why it is not covered under WARRANTY since it is a brand new car.
Moreover, in an earlier experience when I went to get my Licence Plate on my car, the rep asked me if I bought my car there and if not they will not do it. I am not at all convinced by their diagnosis and would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND anyone to go to this place.

We have 2 months that we bought our Toyota Tacoma and we are still trying to get what they promised but nothing they told they will call us but we are still waiting. An appointment at 1 means when you get here at 1 then they put you in the que. Two hours and counting. Haven't gotten to my car yet. Seems their time is more valuable to them than my time. I won't be back here again.

Our experience with Chris Hagan was AMAZING!
I called in inquiring about Black Friday specials. He told me how different Sunnyvale Toyota is in regards to other dealerships. The price you get the first time is the best price all the time. Can you imagine that? No haggling or wasting time?? Genius!
We picked out the car, filled out online credit application before I even got there.
The second day when I came in, he had the car detailed and ready to go!
We were in and out in a jiffy.
I wish more dealerships would take consumers time into consideration like how Mr. Hagan has!
As a business owner, my time is very limited.
While I shortly waited to get into finance, Chris brought us coffee and water and left the room.
I was able to catch up on all my work since they have fast wifi.
I will send whoever is looking for a Toyota to Sunnyvale!

My sister and I were in the process of moving and needed to sell my car. I came into Toyota Sunnyvale to service my car and Albert met me when I pulled in. He let me know that they noticed me and would help me in a few. He took the time to let me know that their used car store was looking for vehicles just like mine. Albert educated me that I didn t have to buy a car in order to sell my car to the dealership. I was a bit skeptical since dealerships usually low ball, but what the heck What could I lose. I was surprised to find that they offered a great price and made it all worth my time. Of course I may have been able to find a little more private party but my time and safety is more important.

I was shocked how poor the service was, I think this was just a busy day but it was the worst service I've ever had at a Toyota dealership and I've had multiple Toyotas over the past decade. When I got there, no one came to talk with me for 5 minutes as I just stood next to my car. When someone finally did help me, they said they were backed up so they would write down my name and number and call me in an hour. They gave me a shuttle ride back to my office, but I didn't get a call from them. After two hours I called them, they had no record of my car being on site, and asked for the license plate number so they could go find it. They went to go look for it (while I'm sitting at my desk wondering if I will see my car again), called me and informed me that in the past two hours no one had worked on it. They told me it would take an hour to complete the service and to top it off that no shuttle would come pick me up as it had stopped running for the day, so I have to pay for an Uber to get there. Again, had Toyotas for a decade, never had such horrible service.
