Rob Dilger's workmanship and attention to detail were excellent when he installed my replacement Kinetico water softener. Rob thoroughly explained how the system works and how to maintain it. He arrived promptly, left the work area clean, and was courteous and pleasant. I could not have asked for better service.
Second year of heating/swamp cooler seasonal service and have been extremely satisfied every time. Technicians are always friendly & professional and the quality of their work has been great. Tried other plumbing & heating services in the past and have been very dissatisfied with the quality of work for the prices that were charged. TLC will be our seasonal service company from now on.
Adam and Luke were professional, friendly and spent time explaining and answering all questions. The 20-30 heads up by phone is a great way to do business so not seating around for hours waiting. Always have great experience with the company and pricing is fair.

Our 17-yr old water heater sprang a bad leak this morning and needed replaced asap. Called TLC and a serviceman was here within an hour. His name Shannon Rushing... highly recommend this guy if you get to select your serviceman. Not only was he extremely competent in the removal of the old unit, replumbing some of the lines due to new codes, and installation of the new water heater, he was congenial and explained "technical" stuff as I asked. Very pleasant experience. I always call TLC for all my plumbing needs which have been several over the years. All their service guys have been awesome!!
Lawrence Sanchez did a wonderful job replacing our water heater with Dakota doing the electrical work. The venting was not up to code, and Lawrence came up with a clever alternative that saved us a lot of money and kept our house safe.

I wasn't going to use TLC ever again because I had a bad experience once, but the other plumbing company we were using closed. TLC was the only place I called who was able to get someone out the same day - we had a minor emergency after a pipe in our yard cracked and started a small lake.
I'm glad I decided to give them another shot! Marcus Chavez was so kind and helpful, and worked in the heat for two hours to get the issue resolved. He showed me the problem and explained what happened, and was so professional about it. He even smoothed out the dirt over the area where the lake was even though it was so hot and that wasn't really a part of his job. He fixed a separate leak inside our house as well. He really changed my opinion of this company.
Used this company twice (quote only the second time) in the last ten years; once in 2006 and again this week. In 2006 I called them to one of our store locations because we had a leaky sprayer head. I had TLC fix the leak and the guy charged me $300 bucks for it. I learned my lesson because after that I found out he did nothing but take the sprayer apart and put it back together again. I could of bought the sprayer at a restaurant supply co for $80.
This week they went to another one of our store locations to inspect the water heater. Told the store manager the issue and quoted us over $1000. Luckily we have smart store managers and he went to someone else...we ended up paying only $135.
This company is extremely overpriced. If you call them MAKE SURE TO GET A QUOTE first then ALWAYS get a second quote from another company.
If you call them because of an emergency and have no other choice, you're pretty much screwed.

Called to get a free quote that they claim to do. Was told it would cost $110 in order to get a quote on how much it would cost to get a 220 added next to the panel.
Called TLC on a sat. had a repairman call saying he would call back shortly after he was done w/ current job. This was mid morning, so I waited and waited no callback just left me hanging. Real pros at TLC. AVOID at all cost!!!! (also quote was very high$$)
I had written a very negative review about TLC PLUMBING. I am editing that review based on a response from Sky (Dept. Mgr). Sky contacted me today 6-3-19 and apologized for being over charged on a plumbing job at my home on 5-29-19. We had a shower valve replaced. I was shocked at the charge, but when I spoke to a woman in the office and to the technician again, I didn't get a reasonable explanation. Sky told me it was a training issue for a new employee, he agreed we were over charged. He offered to refund the entire amount we were billed. I truly appreciate that Sky called and made things right. This is the good service I had always received from TLC. I have used them on multiple occasions for work at my uncle's home, and had always been happy with the service and felt their prices were reasonable. This is why I called them to come to my home. Again, thank you Sky! I will use TLC again at my home, and will continue to use them at my uncle's home.
Nick Gabaldon with TLC was just awesome. He arrived ahead of time, was so pleasant and knowledgeable. He did a great job. The cost was less than I had expected. Great job Nick and TLC.
Today Keanu from TLC Plumbing came to shut down my swamp cooler for the winter. He was knowledgeable, efficient, polite and kind. I'm hoping that he's always the technician that takes care of my swamp cooler. Also, he discussed with me my options for getting my wall heater replaced (it's 60 years old and not working), so it was good to know what I'll be able to do when I get it replaced in a few months. I really appreciate Keanu's help with this.

A big shout out to Levi and Adam. First for saving the day when my water heater went kaput back in February and now, today, after a very long, challenging time wrestling out my 66 year old furnace! You guys are awesome! Thanks! And you even helped with saving some interesting yard art.
A TLC tech showed up at my in-law's (retired in their mid-80's) to do a routine maintenance check on their 18-year-old HVAC rooftop unit for $180. He found a failing capacitor and the pressures were all normal. He showed the in-law's photos from his phone of rust on the condenser and mentioned that he didn't think it would make it through the end of the year. So he provided a proposal recommending a total unit replacement for $11,000-13,000. My in-laws were prepared to remove retirement funds from an IRA to pay for a replacement. I was asked by the in-laws to come out and take a look (I am a mechanical engineer with 17 years of experience in the HVAC field). The recommendation to replace the HVAC unit is out of line not to mention the cost of the proposal being extremely high. The minor rust was due to standing water in the condensation collection pan certainly not necessary for a total replacement. I made one call to another HVAC firm and got a quote of $7,000-$8,000 if I wanted the unit replaced and they recommended if it ain't broke don't replace it. I do not trust TLC and cannot recommend them.
12/22/20 UPDATE: It is the end of the year and the mother-in-law's heat pump unit is still operating fine with the normal rust that appeared in the photo just like Thompson Heating & Air Conditioning rep said it would. The "beyond repair" response by TLC is missing the point and mirrors what the tech did in field. Are you looking at the picture posted? It is like going to your car dealer for an engine light problem that requires an oil filter change which they fix and are "compelled to be transparent" to sell you a new car because their is minor rust inside the wheelwell that is "beyond repair".
Mr Sanchez arrived on time on a holiday weekend no less. He quickly diagnosed our problem and stopped the leak. Highly recommend TLC well done.

I started using TLC because the plumbers I had used for many years had a lot of employee turnover and the people I had a relationship with were gone. That firm came to do a seasonal change-over on my HVAC and tried to sell me a $14,000 HVAC unit to replace my current unit. The current unit had always checked out fine, so I called TLC and they came and checked it out. Unlike the other plumbers, TLC did not shoo me off the roof while doing the maintenance check, and informed me about everything they were testing and what results they found. The unit was fine. No replacement needed. Been using TLC ever since. TLC Technicians have, without fail, been prompt and very courteous, keeping me well-informed about their progress on the job and their expected arrival times. They do good work at a fair price. I recommend them.

TLC is always very professional and I can always count on them to find an intelligent solution to my problems. I have hired other people in the past and have been very disappointed in the quality of their service and professionalism. TLC always fixes the problem and fixes it right. They even go out of their way and have connections to fix the old things in our 1950s house that other companies can't find parts or don't know how to fix. Would recommend them above anyone else. Also like their new pricing system where they tell you the total cost up front and do not charge by the hour. I have had them repair plumbing, heating, etc. and always get great service.

This past weekend I purchased a new faucet assembly but soon realized I was in over my head with the repair and even after attempting to pull the old cartridge from the old faucet assembly proved to be just as difficult I decided to call TLC. Rudy was able replace the old cartridge and happy install a garbage disposal, I also purchased recently, on a moments notice. Thank you for all the hard work. I will definitely use TLC in the future.

We had a clog that backed up every fixture in our home at 10pm on a Monday. We called a few places before calling TLC. They called us back immediately and had a technician named Doug at our house almost immediately. He worked fast and efficiently, we had our 3 month old sleeping inside a room a few feet from where Doug was working. He managed to snake the drain quietly and quickly. And the after hours price was much better than we anticipated. Overall it was one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor and I am a contractor myself. Great job TLC!

TLC Plumbing has always done outstanding, clean, trustworthy work. I've not dealt with a single person over the years that was less than highly professional. For the past 3 years or so, I've been fortunate to work with Jason on plumbing problems throughout the house as well as working with my floor furnace, wall heater, and installation of a new water heater. His patience is laudable and both his knowledge and humor make him a joy to work with. It is hugely important to be able to trust the work of service people, and I am always confident of the safety and quality of the work Jason has done. He is an stellar employee!
TLC came and did a efficient and reasonably priced cooler start up. This was the first time in years that I called them (did the job myself, but getting too old) and they were as good as ever. I highly recommend TLC in general and Elijah Marquez in particular.

Adam and his crew were absolutely wonderful. We thought we just had a minor leak in our a/c unit, but it turns out that it was on its last leg. Adam gave us excellent advice as well as several options. Within the week, he and his crew had our old, junky a/c out and a brand new one that worked better, quieter, and was far more efficient than the old one! We were not expecting such a drastic change to our lives, but boy are we happy! Our home has never been so consistently comfortable. These guys sure know what they re doing, and we are SO grateful! TLC is a hit or miss company. I've had amazing electrician and plumbers come to my house, and I've had people who come to my house who don't listen to me, overcharge me and flat out say "it's only $10," and mansplain to me using the phrase "it's physics."
Why do I stay with them? Well, a plumbing guy convinced me to. He has been responsive and helpful when I have problems. He had listened to my concerns, and I'm able to request that he is the one that comes to my house for services not anyone else.
TLC does quality work in general and they stand behind their work, in bids I've gotten, they aren't the most expensive. They have lots of employees. If you get a good one, keep their card, and request them for future services.
Another great experience with TLC Plumbing this past week. Furnace problems were resolved same-day at half the cost I was expecting. I really appreciated Derek's professionalism and his willingness to explain everything he was doing so that I can better maintain my furnace in the future. Two great experiences in a row with TLC - great service and quick resolutions to our issues.
Our water heater busted and we had a TLC rep out for an estimate within an hour! He was helpful in reworking the price for us and we opted to buy a water heater at home Depot and have them install (we saved a couple hundred bucks getting it ourselves). Then Cesar arrived that day and replaced our water heater and built a strong, solid stand out of wood for it.He brought our gas line and shut off valves up to code, and insulated all the pipes. He was professional, efficient and respectful. And showed me how to do annual maintanence and troubleshooting for the new unit. It was costly....but worth every penny. Superb work!

Our heater mysteriously stopped working in the middle of the night. When we called TLC they were very courteous and set up an appointment with Travis M. We received a call a few minutes before his arrival at our home which we greatly appreciated. When Travis arrived he was friendly and professional. He explained what he was doing to check the heater and what he found. Turned out the problem was actually pretty simple to fix - yea! Travis also explained important maintenance steps we can take to better care for the heater. He did a thorough job of servicing the heater so it will be good to go for all the cold nights ahead. I had Elijah Marquez come out to my house today to service and turn on my swamp cooler for the summer. He came within the time I was told and was very professional. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. He was very busy with other jobs after me for the evening, but he did not rush his work and made sure that we were up and running before leaving.
Made an appt for change over and was told everything was included & confirmed afternoon time frame for afternoon. I receive a call at 8am from tech stating he's at my house waiting for me and when I said the time frame was that afternoon he argued with me. Later when he showed up, he showed me the belt and I agreed to replace - he replaced the float and when he handed me the bill I asked about the pads - he said he did not replace because "they looked decent enough" This when even their web site says to replace and everyone know they need to be replaced yearly (at the minimum). I paid for a complete service and did not receive.

Lawrence Sanchez and Jude Gonzalez Jr. did a fantastic job for us in replacing the water supply lines and valves and also installing a new water heater and water softening system in our 30-year-old house in Albuquerque. It wasn't an easy job because our hard water in ABQ resulted in pipes "seizing up." They took the time it needed to do an excellent job. Mr. Sanchez and Mr. Gonzalez are professional, efficient, courteous and very good at educating us on the care of our new water system. I am very pleased with their work and highly recommend them.
Update: We signed a maintenance contract with TLC and we are very pleased with their service. Adam & Skyler checked in our furnace today and cleaned the filters in preparation for the winter season. They are a pleasure to work with.

Jonah Clark the service pro that was dispatched to do an inspection and repair on my furnace was very personable and polite. Jonah arrived on time and immediately went to work on inspecting and testing the furnace. Days prior my furnace had started to blow cold air instead of heating. Jonah found that some adjustments needed to be made to bring the furnace into compliance with manufacturing tolerances . He also cleaned the heat sensor and checked other components to verify that they were working properly. After all adjustments were made Jonah started up the furnace and waited to insure that it was working properly before leaving. My furnace has operated without any problems since then. I really appreciate TLC and Jonah's quick response.
Been using TLC for years, most recently for work on a water softener and water heater valve. Every person I've dealt with has been courteous, friendly and took the time to explain in detail what needed to be done and why. They even showed me how to do general stuff on my own to save some cash! Yup, they're definitely not the cheapest in town, but I've used a few other plumbers over the years to try and save money, and inevitably they turned out to be less professional and sometimes downright shady, a few even causing issues that needed further work because of their ineptitude. Will continue to use TLC as often as possible. It's nice to deal with a company that takes pride in their work and is a pleasure to deal with.

I'm afraid I cannot recommend this business. On the day we moved into our new home we learned that the inspection report failed to note the non-working hot water heater. Upon referral by a neighbor we called TLC and they arrived promptly and were professional. We learned that the hot water heater could not be repaired and needed to be replaced. we scheduled the work (it was NOT cheap). Again, the workers arrived when they said they would, were tidy and professional. We thought all was well and we were happy to have hot water. But after they left I smelled gas. I called the technician and they said I may be smelling residual gas from when they had to bleed the new line and to call back if it continued. Our carbon monoxide detector did not go off, but the next day our exterminator also mentioned a strong smell of gas. I called TLC's main office line and they sent another technician right away. He performed a bubble test and said there was no leak on the water heater. We thought it was OK.
Fast forward 4 weeks later when my pilot light went out....because I'd leaked nearly 500 gallons of propane in a month. I think there is a leak considering the hot water tank is the only thing hooked to propane. I called TLC again and they informed me that they would need to perform a pressure test on the line and this would be an additional $450. I inquired that if a pressure test found the leak to be from the hot water install would they waive that charge. The operator told me that would not be covered under the warranty and i would be responsible for the charge regardless. I find this to be unacceptable. So I hired another plumbing company to perform this work.
The other company pressure tested the line. The leak was on a valve on the hot water heater and 100% the fault of TLC. I am out the cost of pressure testing the line AND a full tank of propane because of their shoddy workmanship.
I'm giving them more than 1 star because they were prompt and friendly but I would not recommend this company. Poor workmanship and they don't stand behind their service.
Update: I am editing to 3 stars because their main office did make it right financially and were very apologetic. I believe they were sincere in their distress over my situation. But I'm leaving my truthful review above as well.

Beware of this company if they re digging in your neighborhood. Last week they dug up my internet cable and then deny it. It was only until I pointed out that the 4ft section of cable laying next to the hole was my cable. They seem very careless. Thank goodness it wasn t a water/sewer or gas line. But still it was a harmless line but I ve had to deal with my internet provider to came out and survey a new line. Which takes them more than a week and i have to reply to emails for work. This has just been a disaster. If only this company followed some safety protocol and made sure that all lines had been marked before digging this all could have been avoided.

I can't say enough good about TLC and particularly Terrance who probably knows my house better than I do now. We bought a Pueblo style home, built in the '30's than needed all of the plumbing updated. And I have been so impressed with the quality of professionalism and skill and caring the TLC crew brought with them every job they completed. They stay in contact about when they will be there and what they will be doing. They clean up everything before they go... even sometimes another contractor's mess, because that isn't how they want to leave the job site... which is also your home. And now, when I need to call the office to request another service, they do everything they can to send the team that I know , who knows our house to do that project. Quite simply, I wish the rest of the world worked the same way. I can promise you, you won't find a better team of professional people to work on making your home comfortable and efficient in the areas of Plumbing, Heating and AC. I'm so glad they are here.

Thankfully, the two young men who serviced our water heater this morning, Lawrence and Caesar, displayed an abundance of both.

TLC set us up with an appointment to install a new water heater, however they had a cancellation so contacted us immediately and were here the same day. Something that is extremely important to me, is that my wife feels comfortable with strangers being in our home and she told me that the guys that came were very kind and courteous. Levi and the other gentleman (whose name she forgot, sorry!) took the time to answer all her questions and went above and beyond to offer plenty of good advice and tips. The price we were given was what the final cost was, other companies tried to sell 'memberships' and/or upsell to services we didn't need. TLC were straight to the point, they didn't make out that it would be more expensive because it was such a 'huge' job, they just came and did a wonderful job. I would definitely use this company again.
