***BUYERS BEWARE***!!! Bait-and-switch tactics are heavily used at this dealership. After shopping, around at various dealerships, I thought I had found a decent deal at PUGI VW, but when I sat down to sign on the dotted line, I was informed that I was not be offered the 60 month 0% interest that was being widely advertised by VW. After complaining, I was introduced to the proverbial "sales manager" (Bill) who proceeded to inform me that if I wanted the 0% offer, the price of the vehicle would go up by $1,000!! I found this deceptive and quite frankly a throwback to old dealership practices of the 80's and 90's. Needless to say, I walked out without a car. I would rather pay a few hundred more elsewhere, but be treated honestly.

We had a great experience working with Kelsie. He was educated and knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. He made sure we left with our new car with all of our questions answered. We highly recommend going to Pugi for your new VW!

I felt the need to post about Pugi Volkswagen afte...

I felt the need to post about Pugi Volkswagen after the extremely poor experience I had with their service department on 6/21. The whole experience started off badly with the online appointment booking, however that is hardly worth mentioning. I met with a service advisor Tom M. (who was fairly abrasive from the start) and he said they can take a look at my car at some point. I received a call a few hours later explaining I needed to have the radiator replaced and that it would be over $800. I inquired if this was covered under the extended warranty that I had purchased when I bought the car (mind you I bought the car at this same dealership Pugi VW) and he said that he didn't see anything regarding an extended warranty. I couldn't help but think what the point of the extended warranty was if the same dealership I bought it from couldn't look it up when I actually needed service done? Since I was already getting a bad feeling from the whole thing I told them not to do the work and that I would pick the car up and planned to take it to Autobarn City VW. My last request was that they top the coolant off so that I could make it the day and a half until Monday when I'd be able to take it to the other dealership. I popped the hood to double check that this was done and noticed it hadn't. Needless to say I felt my business was not wanted as there was no effort at providing customer service in a courteous manner. I absolutely will never take my car to Pugi VW for any service and I thoroughly regret purchasing my car from them.

That brings me to today where I received the complete opposite service at Autobarn City VW. Their service advisor Conrad looked up my extended warrantly in about 20 seconds and told me that the radiator was covered and would only cost me $100 out of pocket. I received a call 4 hours later stating that my car was good to go. From beginning to end I received nothing but courteous service, not to mention they saved me $700!!! Autobarn City VW will continue to get my business for all of my car's service and maintenance needs. Pugi can benefit from treating their customers like City VW does. The 2.8 stars that Pugi currently has on google speaks volumes and definitely makes me think that my experience was not out of the norm.

I graduated from college last weekend so I was looking to invest in a nice, dependable car at an affordable price and found just that at Pugi Volkswagen. The salesman working with me, Mike, was a great help the entire way. Mike made the long paperwork process easy and offered very helpful advice along the way. Overall it was a great first car buying experience and I would definitely recommend Pugi Volkswagen if you are interested in buying a car from a great dealership with amazing service.

After a lengthy post about another dealership, I c...

After a lengthy post about another dealership, I can say that Pugi, where we purchased a 2016 VW GTI that upon final delivery to us had a noticeable scratch on the driver side door and was buffed for 2 hours to no avail, continued the level they left off with.

My wife called to make a service appointment this morning at 8am with check engine light needing diagnosing, and they had no openings.

Yet I was able to make an appointment online just moments later through their web-based service for a 10am appointment.

Back to my wife s attempt to make an appointment- she was asked the typical questions: name, vehicle make and model and whether it had been serviced there. She replied no service had been done there, but it is where the car was purchased. For some reason the conversation carried on about them not having any record of her or me in their system-as if it mattered-we are calling to make a service appointment.

Hindsight is 20/20 so I realize now that when my wife explained the problem had already been looked at, repaired at another dealer, yet the problem had returned. Well they don t want a mystery problem another dealer couldn t solve so that s most likely why the service advisor decided they didn t want to take the appointment.

However we weren t looking for a second opinion for the repair. It was a matter of geography. My wife works in the suburbs a few days and downtown a few days. Today she happened to be headed to the suburbs so she wanted to drop the car off and have the repair done while she was at work. We were told as long as the check engine light was not flashing, it was safe to drive, so she brought it in.

They discover the oil filler cap is cracked on the threads causing a vacuum leak which is giving the engine management system some trouble. They make the assumption and probably a correct one, that the recent oil change service(a week earlier) done by the city dealer was where this occurred.

Their concern now is that warranty will not cover is and she can either take it back to the city dealer or pay $400 for the repairs. Well my wife s not a moron so she asks why they can t be reimbursed by the city dealer and have the job done so she can have her vehicle back and we can move on.

The dealer is contact with the city dealer who wants photographic evidence of the oil cap(what? You don t trust another dealership?) and as of late the the city dealer is authorizing the work to be done but now it s almost closing time for the shop and another day without the vehicle.

Time wasted, stressful experience again with Pugi. Last time was when we bought the car and waited 5+ hours for competitive financing when we walked in the door with a blank check.
But that s the name of the game. Waste your time until you give in.

Go into a bank sometime for a mortgage, they will tell you in 20 minutes: your credit score and whether you qualify, how much for and at what rate. Seems strange that you can get an answer on your own computer faster than a dealership finance department that literally does this as their job.

Still searching for a quality dealership for our GTI. Anyone out there know one?

Went for the "free" car wash yesterday and I'm not sure if I asking for the wrong thing or what... But my car is still dirty. The rims aren't clean at all and there are dirty water smudges all over the windows and the car. I've been there once before for the free wash and noticed other cars being cleaned and they came out looking sparkly and new... paint nice and shiny and looked great. I love the dealership as they are all very nice and always helpful, Mike, Scott and Odis always remember me by name. Just not happy with the car washing experience.

I can often be very difficult to please: I demand ...

I can often be very difficult to please: I demand honestly and straight talk and want people to put their best foot (in this case, price) forward. This can sometimes be a tall order, particularly in the car sales business. This was definitely not an issue for Ray Torres and the people I worked with at Pugi VW.

I walked in several months ago and happened to meet Ray. He was forthright with me, treated me with respect and valued my time. He didn't push, but was always available to answer questions. Though I did not buy a car after my initial visit, he was the first person that came to mind when I needed a new VW for my wife. True to form, Ray did not disappoint; months later, he was still as helpful and forthcoming. He told me what was available and gave me a fantastic price off the bat - enough so that I hardly had to negotiate. For comparison, another dealership offered me a monthly payment that was over 50% higher for the same car on the same terms, and then they negotiated themselves down to where Ray started.

My experience was so impressive, that I ended up coming back two days later to trade in my other car as well. I even called the owner to tell him how impressed I was with the team. In fact, to accommodate my delivery needs, both my salesman (Ray) and the finance person (Greg) came in on their day off to take care of me personally and make sure everything went smoothly.

I rarely write reviews online, but this is definitely review-worthy in my book. I highly recommend Pugi VW to anyone interested in buying a Volkswagen.

I honestly won't be coming back to this dealership. They are the ones that made me not trust them at all. They offer me an insurance so I can drive off on my new Tiguan and they took the payment off my credit card. I cancelled the insurance after two days and I've been going back and forth with the insurance company just to get my refund for the days I didn't used the policy. I've talked to three people including Otis and none of them have returned my call at all (4 months waiting for a call). Every representative have told me that they could just cutoff a check and they they will reach me asap but no luck at all. Is this how every Volkswagen dealer are? I would definitely not recommend this dealer to anyone especially family members. My only chance is to dispute the insurance policy with my credit card because this dealer doesn't care.

As a college student needing a car for work next year, it didn't take me long to realize I had no idea what I was doing.

With help from Lisa at Pugi, I learned everything I needed to know about the car buying process.

Lisa worked with me to find ways to save money on my first big purchase. Not only was she fun to talk with, Lisa was always available to take my calls and answer any questions I had. And I had a lot.

Even though I'm currently living in the Champaign - Urbana area, after a few calls with Lisa, I wanted to make the trip up to Downers Grove to buy my 2016 Golf GTI at Pugi.

Lisa and the team at Pugi Volkswagen made the process so fast and easy. I could not be more satisfied with the outstanding service I received.

So buying a used car is definitely not on my list ...

So buying a used car is definitely not on my list of fun things to do. Not even on my list of things I really want to do ever. It pretty much consists of high pressure sales people and the fear of getting a lemon.

This was not even close to our experience at Pugi. We went in to look at a used Tiguan. I had already been to a couple of other dealers and was tired and ready to just go home but since we were already way out here, I wanted to at least take a look before we went home. I would have saved so much time and aggravation if I had just come here first.

Our sales person, Nathan was really professional. Not pushy at all. Pretty mellow and funny and most importantly, honest. He was definitely willing to work with us. We did negotiate but it wasn't like he was trying to get one over on us. He was just straight forward. And even after he closed the deal with us and it was past hours and they were closed, Nathan took the time to show my husband all the workings of the car before we drove home. That was really nice of him.

And the woman in finance, Raluca was really nice and so not pushy at all. She too was straight forward and let us decide what we wanted for an extended warranty. And we didn't end up with more than we wanted or needed.

We realized when we got home that there weren't any manuals in the car (and I really do need manuals since I am one of those people who can barely use my smart phone). I emailed Nathan and he ordered them for me and mailed them to me that same week. Since it was a used car, he could have just said oh well - it didn't have them when we bought it and we could just order them ourselves. So this was a really nice surprise.

We ended up with a good car at a good price and it was actually kinda fun.

In a few years, when we are ready for our next car, I will come back to Pugi for sure!

The BEST sales department, EVER!!

The BEST sales department, EVER!!

I was a first time new-car buyer and did some research.
When I finally figured out that I wanted a VW Golf SE, it was nearly the end of August.
(Lucky me...turns out it's a great time of year to buy!)
I gave the dealership near me an offer that they refused.
It was their loss.
I gave Pugi the same offer and they took it.
Not only that, but their vehicle had nearly $2,000.00 bonus factory installed features.
Once I arrived, their attention and care was impeccable.
I took a test drive and gave them my check.
My amazing experience did not end there. Nor has it ended yet.
Both John Depierre and Rey Torres have been available 24/7. Literally.
Rey even gave me his mobile info in case I had any questions about my car.
In fact, I have had MANY questions and he has answered every single one.
I cannot say enough good things about this sales department.
Especially Rey.
Top-notch customer service and AMAZING experience all around.
How many people can actually say that about buying a car?
I love my new car and I wish I lived closer to Pugi!

Just leased my second vehicle from this VW Pugi location and they are truly exceptional. The prompt, courteous service they provided is hands down the best I ve received. While car purchasing/leasing is not always a favorable experience in most people s books the team over at Pugi helped me accomplish my goal and achieve a wonderful vehicle within my budget with ease. I highly recommend checking them out for your next car.

I called Pugi, where I purchased our vehicle in 2017 to bring it in for service. They refused to give me a loaner car unless I came in and waited for 1-2 hours while they diagnosed the situation first. I shared that this would be the third time I ve brought my vehicle in for the same issue but that did not change their position. I called Bill Jacobs in Naperville and they provided me with a loaner and completed the work on my vehicle without issue. They also fixed a couple open recall items that Pugi didn t address when I was there previously. Very disappointed with how Pugi Service handled this, I won t be going back. They made a point when they sold me the vehicle of stating how they always have loaners for their customers, but they failed to mention you first need to wait hours onsite while they determine if you need one.

This is how a Sales Department can blow a deal: they were rude and impatient. My wife and I are planning to buy a car, but we were so annoyed by the behavior of three sales representatives that we walked out of the dealership. Hopefully, their competition will know how to do business and we will close the deal. Find some other dealer.

I have bought many many cars in my lifetime and most of them used, having raised 4 kids.I would recommend Pugi to anyone looking for a dealership that is willing to work with you through some difficult car buying decsions. Not every dealership will stand by your side after you have made a purchase, but PUGI did. Bought a used car from Pugi which seemed to be a solid value for the money, but after a couple weeks we had problems with overheating. We called the dealership and they offered to fix it, however after 3 attempts they were not successful. I talked with Ranoldo and Chris the used car managers who were more then apologetic and worked with us by taking the 1st car back and getting my daughter into a newer vehicle for about the same money. PUGI did right by me and my family. Had some frustrating times with the 1st vehicle but they stood by our side. That's what I want from a dealership.

BRAD PRICE IS AWESOME. Simplest car deal ever! My husband has been wanting a Mazda Speed3 for some time. Our local dealer had one, but their price was really high. I found a nearly identical one at Pugi Mazda in a better looking color. We tried to negotiate with our local dealer to save us the three hour drive to Pugi, but they wouldn't come down far enough. Not only did Pugi Mazda accept my email offer of $1000 less than their already discounted price off of NADA value. But when we got to the dealership the tires were more worn than my husband had hoped. Once we told them we planned to go home and buy the one our local dealer had with new tires, they immediately offered to replace the tires or give us an additional $500 off. Our salesman Brad Price was so helpful. He answered dozens of emails, phone calls and texts from me before we even got there. He went out in a snowstorm to check things on the car the night before we came. The sales manager (never got his name) told Brad he felt bad so he offered us a Mazda Certified warranty at cost! Not only did we save several thousand off the car's value but we got an awesome warranty practically for free! Twice now I've been to my local dealer and it's usually a giant headache and I always leave there feeling sick to my stomach. I'd go back to Pugi Mazda and see Brad Price again for any deal!

I recently purchased a used Volkswagen from Pugi. ...

I recently purchased a used Volkswagen from Pugi. Roger the sales associate who I worked with was excellent. I was coming from out of state and pretty much knew for certain I d be purchasing the vehicle I d picked out. Aside from normal negotiations I felt like I got a great deal on the vehicle, Roger was particularly helpful and seemed very trustworthy and honest! Unfortunately the rest of my experience was rather negative. The vehicle I was interested in was a certified pre owned, however once we began negotiating on price it was revealed that the online internet price did not include the certified warranty, it was actually almost $2K more to factor that in. Ultimately I decided to nix the warranty, even though upon secondary review of the web posting, nothing indicated the online advertised price did not include the certified warranty. Not a huge deal but seems like deceptive marketing. Ultimately I got them down to a very fair price in my opinion which was great, however I felt as if the warranty suddenly wasn t included when they realized the price I was willing to pay and the asking price were quite different. Another issue was that we did happen to be on a tight schedule and I watched the finance manager sit in a glass wall office for 30 minutes eating a sandwich, when I was repeatedly told he was coming to help me soon. He then told me when I asked if we could speed up the process a bit that it was his day off and he wanted to leave just as much as I did. Not a huge deal but seems pretty unprofessional. Then when I came back to pickup the car after having a few body touch ups which they graciously took car of, the car had less than half a tank of gas and the floor mats were never put in and the carpet was all tracked up with dirt. Again when you re paying thousands of dollars you would think you could at least get temporary plastic put down and a full tank of gas. All in all my experience was a very mixed bag. Definitely take some time out of your day if you plan to purchase a car here and ask for Roger.

I purchased a car from Pugi Volkswagen in October of 2019. I received excellent, no bs service. Their salesman are professional and do not use cheap/unethical sales tactics. This is my second car purchased from Pugi dealerships, and I received the same great service both times. Prior to driving Volkswagen's and Hyundai's, I drove Chevy's my entire life. I changed brands because of Pugi. They are the best. Kelsie was the salesman who assisted me. He was very helpful and explained all I needed to know, but also straight and to the point. Thank you Pugi Volkswagen, we are loving our new Atlas!

Im going to change this up but Im going to attach all the text messages back and forth from the 2 guys that were trying and actually DID scam me from this dealership. Todd Thomas screamed and yelled and hung up on me. I never had a grown man scream at me the way he did. Todd sold me a car and because I wouldnt lie to the bank and act like I had more money than I actually had he didnt get a lender. I in all honesty thought I bought a car and walked away with a good price, an okay APR but turns out that after me texting back and forth with him over a month and I never received a welcome package from the lender so I wasnt sure who to pay. He would never really answer those questions instead he would send me text messages saying I fuc*ed up because I didnt do as he requested and he would just turn this whole problem as my fault. I really am still confused because before hanging up on me he requested I either pay more or pick up my car. I have called the GM and no response as of yet. After talking to a lawyer he suggested I get out of the deal because it sounded shady and unprofessional. There is so much more to this story so please contact me so this doesnt happen to any of you out there. They should of never allowed me to walk way with a car that they didnt know I could have or not. (gonna add all the texts soon)

This is a review of the service department at Pugi...

This is a review of the service department at Pugi VW.

Which wins the award for WORST VW service in the Chicago metro area.

I reluctantly take my '02 Beetle, '07 Eos, ' 15 Jetta, and '16 Tiguan to Pugi VW for service because it is near my office.

On multiple instances the caliber of service was abysmal ...

And by 'abysmal' I mean..

- I have retrieved my vehicle post service with warning lights illuminated that were not even on when dropping the car off.

- Also had the same warning light being on and not addressed. . . after service was allegedly completed.

- The car being dirty and REEKING of body odor, when I dropped it off freshly washed.

The list goes on. . . But for brevity - it is my most recent and last encounter that was truly epic and is the inspiration for this review. . .

I made a service appointment online for my leased 2016 VW Tiguan to receive 30k mile scheduled maintenance, and requested I would need a loaner vehicle when making the appointment.

When arriving for my appointment I was told there was no loaner available. I plainly stated if such was the case I would not be leaving my vehicle and need to reschedule.

Instead of simply proceeding with rescheduling the appointment, the service manager Jeremy Gascoigne interjected himself into the conversation between me and the advisor, so he could start barking at me in an unrefined manner about how I never asked for a loaner. . . .

I have a snapshot of the appointment confirmation documenting the request, and I responded with the simple fact that is customary of VW to provide a loaner vehicle, as has always been my experience.

Long story shot . . Jeremey continues his tirade . . listing off all the things Pugi is not obligated to offer nor provide. . . and ended with asking me where I purchased my VW, and scoffed because I did not purchase at Pugi.

The interaction ended with Jeremy exuberantly telling me to go back to the dealership I bought it from - -

My conclusion - - this dealership is just total trash.

My advice to the consumer - - Get your Vdub serviced at any other dealer. Unless you want your car to smell like the most pungent body odor on the planet.

Hawk, Autobarn, Bill Jacobs, Fox Valley wash your VW and give you a loaner without even being asked.

My advice to the dealership - - up your game or go out of business.

Lastly, a Final Note to the dealership :

Mister Gascoigne,

I am more than happy to satisfy your request to go to another dealership.

Best of luck with all your Service Manager endeavors.

Not pleased with our experience with the service d...

Not pleased with our experience with the service department. We came in knowing exactly what was wrong with my car and because VW told them to, they told me to continue driving on my car till my engine blew.
I attempted to purchase an engine out of my pocket(so it would be cheaper) and was told they would order it for me. I spoke to Jeremy and he told me they would come to a deal with me on the price.
After I find out they charged me for more than what they paid for the engine when I could have just purchased my own and not had to pay extra (which I spoke to Jeremy about because I wanted a fair price).
To order the engine and put it in took almost 2 months when it should have taken two weeks tops.
I was never really contacted about the progress of my car, I always had to reach out. The communication absolutely sucks.
The staff that was present when I came to get my car after it was finished had absolutely no information about my new engine for me.
Still haven t heard anything about the discrepancies. I was fed lies about the warranty before my car was finished. I was told many different things about warranty and the price that apparently aren t true and had to call the GM to get things somewhat fixed.
One guy was completely rude I wish I could remember his name.
Still haven t gotten a call or anything to apologize for what had happened after all this.
We will never recommend or do business with this dealership again after we bought a new Golf R just a month prior.
I ll be filing a complaint with VWOA.

Elder Harassment at Pugi VW

Elder Harassment at Pugi VW
Approached service manager with question. Didn't finish speaking before he said "YOU STILL DRIVING!" Several other members of Pugi staff standing around him burst out in laughter. Service manager continued with harassment when I tried to proceed with question; laughter from staff again. Reported incident to owner via voicemail; he didn't call me back. I need to know what action was taken against disrespectful service manager and staff. BTW I'm physically fit and mentally alert. Had to give one star to post.

In reading reviews, it's obvious that owner responds to compliments and not complaints. That's not good business practice. It should be the opposite.

Tires with only 27K miles on them keep giving false indicator that pressure is low. Take the car in, the service writer re-sets the indicator. I have to do this every time or check the tires manually for pressure. "not their fault" Only one time the reading wasn't false and the tire actually was low on pressure which caused it to go flat. " not their fault" Service writer immediately argues with me that it couldn't be the problem, even though after changing the tire the indicator IS STILL ON. Terrible service, terrible attitude - not customer friendly in the least little way.

My family and I recently visited Pugi VW to learn more about VW and more specifically about the Jetta. After having test driven a model in Mt. Prospect, I was eager to learn more about the VW including the safety of the vehicle as we were not given much information on the auto. Lisa Marion-Nnene educated us on the exterior, interior, motor and safety features that are very important with two teens ready to get their driving permits. She also provided information on other models we were considering like the Passat and Tiguan. Lisa impressed us with her friendly customer service and great knowledge of the Jetta. She is a pleasure to work with and she aims to please. I would highly recommend Lisa to anyone in the market for a VW.

I just purchased a used car from Joseph at Pugi Volkswagen on Saturday. Joseph and the team at Pugi we incredibly nice, helpful and most importantly, honest. This was my first car purchase and they helped me through the entire process and continued to help after the purchase was complete. The first night I had the car home the battery in the car died due to extreme cold. Joseph and the team at Pugi arranged to have my car towed back to their shop, they put me in a loaner car and replaced the battery for me free of charge. Such amazing service! I am incredibly happy with my experience!

Scott, the sales manager is the most considerate salesperson I've ever met! Not pushy and spent time with me to figure out what car would fit me best! Not only that, I ended up buying a certified pre-owner vehicle (2019 Jetta, R-Line) and their lead mechanic, Will was meticulous when inspecting my vehicle before it left their dealership. Replaced the brake rotors, detailed the car, filled up the gas tank, put mats in my car, and made sure I had 2 working spare keys. I would NOT have made this purchase without their caring and detailed work. HIGHLY recommenced these men at this dealership!!

I have had my new car for a couple of weeks now. It is a 2015 Golf GTI with manual transmission. This was the car I knew I wanted when I test drove it. Unfortunately the dealership I test drove the car was awful. They wanted to sell me a different car the entire time, tried to convince me to get an automatic, and told me the car I wanted was impossible to get unless you live on the east coast. When I finally made it to Pugi for the first time I told the salesman (Devon) the car I wanted and the specs I wanted it in. He told me there wasn't one at the dealership but Pugi would be able to find it. He never once tried to sell me on a different car and was able to find the exact car I wanted and give me a loaner to use for the couple weeks I had to wait for no extra cost. I was able to negotiate a great price on the car and notified as soon as the car made it to the lot.

The experience was just what I wanted it to be. I was able to get the car I wanted for great price and was never pressured to change my mind. This was the first dealership I went to that told me they would do what it takes to find the car and they delivered. If you are looking for a place that will go the extra mile to put you in the car you want this is the place to go.

We went in to buy one car and ended up buying 2 brand new cars! Great customer service, super friendly, everyone was very helpful and patient. We love our Tiguan and Jetta and are so happy we chose Pugi!
Ask for Roberto or Roger, they will take the best care of you.

Another great experience with Pugi VW! Gustavo is an amazing and attentive Sales Consultant, and the Sales Manager, Bill, is great to work with too! They both respond within minutes to any email or text communication, and the store vibe is just as attentive and friendly without ever being overbearing or pressuring.

I recently helped my sister get into a new '19 GLI 35th Anniversary Edition to replace her '17 GLI lease, and Gustavo kept us updated every step of the way. We were able to get in for paperwork within 24hrs of the car's arrival on the lot - so my sister was thrilled to get one of the very first redesigned GLIs to hit the roads!

The store's pricing is incredible, and everything is straight-forward and transparent, which is honestly even more important. (Both F&I managers are great as well - fun and friendly!) I will continue to send people to Gustavo and Bill for Volkswagens! :)

Shop elsewhere. I did my homework. I got a firm price , confirmed current mileage at 8 (new), confirmed the car was be eligible for the advertised promotional 1.9 financing with qualifying credit score. All this in writing beforehand. Two hours after being at the dealer and running our credit
we found the car was scratched, had over 2000 miles. Finally we walked away when we told that despite our credit score of 800 + the car was not eligible for the promotional financing after all. Very unprofessional.

I just have to laugh at this place. I called on a Friday to set up a test drive. They told me they would call me if anything changed. I drove 45 minutes to test drive a car. When I got there all the employees were leaning on the counter playing on their phones, and they told me that the car I had an appointment to test drive had been sold. As if that wasn't bad enough, they left me a voicemail earlier today asking me why I hadn't stopped by for a test drive. They're so disorganized.

I had a great sales experience with Ashley and Javier. Ashley provided a very good price right off the start line. Javier wrapped up the quick negotiations and was extremely transparent with the contract and how the numbers added up. All negotiations took place online and responses were within a few hours. Vehicle was ready for my review when I came in for final paperwork.

UPDATE:
I opted for the 6 month pay deferment. I received a bill in the mail from VW credit saying I owe the first payment in 7 days! I called and spoke to VW credit. My contract was missing items for the 6 month payment deferment even though I completed the standalone paperwork for it. After speaking with Otis from from Pugi finance, it was explained the person who completed my contract is not usually the person who does the contracts at the VW dealership and was filling in from another Pugi dealership. The contract was corrected and after 10 business days the account was corrected! They stayed on top of this issue and made sure it was resolved.

I had recall on my VW Passat which service dept was good they take care right away plus oil change under 3 hours. I went to sales dept front desk gentlemen was great he called for someone to show around. Young guy show up he was rude and did not know anything about financing all he did was to push to fill credit app? How can you do credit applications if you can not add 1+1 which he said he don't know but still was pushy. I thanked him and left and background I hear them laughing. Next time I will go another dealership. First time and last time coming to this VW dealership. Do not judge book by its cover. Sales was so bad that I changed my mind about buying VW Atlas.

Thank you Scott, you made buying my car very easy. I wasn t clicking with my sales person, I was ready to walk after a few comments and how some questions got answered, but then Scott came in and ended my 3 weeks of stress test driving used cars. I m really happy with the car. Honestly I was probably in the building 10 minutes and out with my car. The man has a great energy and pulled out comparisons and why the car is at the price it was, no extra fees! Just great at his job. I wish he got my commission but it think the other guy did. :( Thanks love my car Scott!!

My experience with Pugi was great. Devon Brown, Javier Rivera and Odis Horne made the buying experieince very pleasant. The team at Pugi (Javier and Devon) went WAY beyond my expectations in locating the vehicle I wanted with very specific attributes. It took a few days, but ultimately, the team was able to meet everything I wanted and desired in the vehicle. Really made it a good experience. I'd recommend this team again when searching for my next Volkswagen!

PUGI VW service is complete incompetent and unwill...

PUGI VW service is complete incompetent and unwilling to fix basic issues for the 2017 GTI I bought NEW from them. so clearly my business is not wanted here.
I brought the car in for first oil change at ~8k miles and mentioned I can smell burnt oil in cabin. after service, they said they can't duplicate my problem. I can still smell it after service, after 1k mile, brought it in again, and want them to look over the car, service manager walked in, said can't smell anything in vents, popped hood, said there is nothing wrong, there is nothing he can do. suggest I change cabin air filter (paper can't filter out hydrocarbon) or go drive a prius. The car is under warranty and I bought the car from them apparently did not even warrant them pull it into service bay and do a basic check. I brought it to Bill Jacobs VW, complained about the smell, service manager smelled it right away and pulled it into service bay and mechanic removed the plastic engine cover, shined flash light, and found engine oil leaking from valve cover directly over the exhaust manifold, confirming exhaust is cooking the oil seeping out from valve cover gasket and ordered a part to fix it.
The service manager at PUGI treated me as if I was asking them personally paying for the repair, which I don't understand, It's a new car under warranty, and I bought the car from them, they won't even do a basic check with my complaint? and this issue is easily identified under 3 minutes at Bill Jacobs VW. Don't buy a car from PUGI or service there, unless you want to deal with miserable idiots. By the way, they didn't even remove the suspension shipping pucks on my car when they deliver it to me, causing really harsh ride, until I searched the issue and removed them myself. my health and safety means nothing to them, they just want the money. VW GTI is a great car though, experience at this dealership is beyond terrible.

I have been to this dealer twice, the first time I needed an oil change. I scheduled it for 4 pm, arrived at 3. The service guy not only welcomed me, he said they will take care of the oil change. Within the hour I was done with an oil change and transmission flush. The second time I had a tire issue, drove in without an appointment and John I believe is his name, took the car and got it assessed. They provided a complimentary loaner and took care of my issue. I couldn t be happier with the service center here! I have found my new dealer... and I live in Yorkville. Well worth the drive!

Thanks guys!

If you're in the market for a Volkswagen, see Kelsie at Pugi Downers Grove. Kelsie is a consultant, not a "typical car salesman." He will patiently guide you along the car buying process by promptly answering your questions and kindly following-up to address any new concerns. When it comes down to price, he puts his best foot forward to reduce the "typical" negotiation stress.

Had an o2 sensor go out (used computer codes to show error). Called ahead of time to see what the estimated repair cost would be for an o2 sensor. Told him Vin number, mileage and year of vehicle. He said the estimated is usually around 250-300. Called another vw dealership and was immediately told o2 sensor are under warranty until 80k miles and if that is what the issue was it would be 0.00. Took it there and it was indeed covered and 0.00

One of the salesman Rey at Pugi Volkswagen was great. He wasn't pushy at all and was super down to earth. He also knew a lot about the cars on the lot regarding the technical specifications and the overall benefits for your daily lifestyle. This is our 3rd car that we bought from Pugi Volkswagen, and plan to stay with them as long as they're in business. I really do appreciate the family environment that they create in that dealership, and you should definitely do business with them for your next car purchase!

We got our first Volkswagen from Pugi yesterday.
I have to say the sales person DeVon Brown did a great job on it.
He really listens to the customers' need and help to achieve the goal for both sides. It was a win-win result. In our case, we decided to lease. He takes time to analysis the benefit of leasing to our condition. Listen to what customers said is a key. I will highly recommend to have his help to get your Volkswagen. Just like talking to your best friend for an advice and helping you on buying a car.

Javier Rivera and team were absolutely amazing. They helped me to get in and out especially during these tough times. They were fair with prices and made the whole experience worth my time. Got a beautiful car with no hassle. Ended up staying after closing and no one tried to rush me out. I would highly recommend giving them a chance. VW is offering 0% deals and with great service. Win win for everyone. Thanks again team, and special thanks to Javier! Thanks brother

Always skeptical when entering a dealer; but, sales staff worked hard to get the deal I wanted and the car I wanted. They negotiated hard against the competitors over several days. When it came time to close- the deal was as presented, easy walk through and a pleasure to trade-in and receive the new car. Service department looks to be excellent as well.

THIS IS MY 1ST TIME TO WRITE REVIEW ONLINE. IN PAS...

THIS IS MY 1ST TIME TO WRITE REVIEW ONLINE. IN PAST 10 YEARS I HAVE OWNED MORE THAN 8 CARS, SUV. ACURA, LEXUS, TOYOTA, INFINITI AND NISSAN AND NOW TIME FOR GERMAN ENGINEERING. so im very familiar with the negotiation and the process.
i just can't believe that i just bought a new 14 vw touareg here. before stop by this bad rating dealership ( pugi vw ), same like other the bad review scared me. but i have been searching around for the very limited r -line touareg in the market.finally i found 1 at this pugi vw have one with my fav color white with black interior also in low miles 65. not like other with over 350 miles and still telling me its a brand new car. i really had a bad experience in bill jacobs vw. but pugi turns all around and they earn my business.
things i dont like bill jacobs vw is... very poor customer service, slow response, don't go to this dealership if you only have a good credit 680. they will ask you for a massive down payment and kick your ass out. the manger told me ' we only have one left in stock, so if you dont buy someone will ' . ok then you better keep this demo suv forever.
vw of orland park... i did not stop by this dealer but i have made a phone call ask about the mileage and selling price for the car that i want. they response.. please come and we will show you the actual car can discuss the $ from there. i understand why the salesperson answer me like that. they lose.
I LIKE THE TOUAREG R-LINE SO MUCH, I KNOW WITH 5K MORE I CAN GET A BRAND NEW AUDI Q7 OR BMW X5 BUT THE R-LINE IS AWESOME. FINALLY I CALL PUGI VW ASK THE CAR MILES AND SELLING $. RAY ( SALESPERSON ) PICK UP THE PHONE. I CAN HEAR HOW FRIENDLY HE IS AND HOW HE CARE ABOUT ME. AFTER TALKING IN THE PHONE FOR 5 MINUTES AND GET ALL INFO THAT I WANT, I HAVE DECIDE TO STOP BY ON THE NEXT DAY TO COMPLETE THE SALES. RAY IS OFF ON THE NEXT DAY BUT HIS PARTNER IS ANOTHER AWESOME SALESPERSON.

PUGI VW.. I DONT SEE ANY PROBLEM IN THE SHOWROOM, SALESPERSON AND FINANCE MANAGER. EVERYONE IS SO POLITE AND HELPFUL ESPECIALLY NATHAN. I ONLY SPENT 3.5 HOURS TO COMPLETE THE SELLING PROCESS. ALL THE BAD REVIEW ABOUT THIS DEALERSHIP MOST IS POINT TO THE SERVICE DPT. I HOPE I WONT FACE THE SAME LIKE OTHERS DO. BUT THE SALES IS AWESOME.

sorry for any misspelling.

Bought a used car from there. They really dressed it up nice but then after about 2 weeks, when their armor all wore off, you saw the tires, dash, and steering wheel was pretty dry rotted. The windows leaked from the seals being pretty much shot. The parking brake should've been adjusted. There was still dog hair from prior owner that they didn't vacuum out decently. They didn't inform me that the lock lug nut was missing so now it's a pain to get my tires rotated. Poor poor quality.

My experience with Pugi wasn t great. When it came to work with their finance team to see what loan they would offer me, they were not honest. I am someone with excellent credit score and they wanted to give me an interest rate that is absurd for someone with good credit. When I would ask them for my interest rate on the loan, they would not give me the number. They like to play games and play with your numbers on payments.

I d suggest take your business to another Volkswagen dealership.

Edit Update:
I originally gave this dealership a 1 star due to poor service but a day later, we received a phone call from the dealership manager wanting to turn our experience into a positive one. It was a great experience to hear him ask what he can do to help and he took his customer service above and beyond. He was honest with us and helped us get the fair price we wanted since the beginning.

It really does show that not everyone is the same in that dealership. Some employees really are there wanting to help you make the right purchase and have a positive experience.

What's the point of an appointment if you sit and wait 45 minutes.

Update:
So after an hour I walked up again to ask if it gonna be much longer and guess what?
The lady we're here to see is sitting all alone and available. Matter of fact she is sitting and waiting for us but thanks to some idiot who told me she is with a customer I am waiting looking at her and she is waiting for us.

We walked in and I said we have appointment and we were told to have a seat because she was busy. What an idiot.

My wife and I have been shopping for a new SUV for her for a few weeks now. We stopped in Pugi a few weeks ago to see the car in person, we worked with Andres(?) and he was extremely helpful and not pushy at all. We explained that we were still just in the looking phase and did not feel pressured into buying, running numbers, etc during our first visit, which was a welcome change from most dealers. She was still undecided between the Mazda CX5, Nissan Rogue and VW Tiguan. After test driving all of them and working with the staff and Pugi, she decided that was the way to go. We setup an appointment to meet with Andres(?) again and returned this past Saturday. We drove the car one more time, asked our remaining questions and decided to move forward. We were able to trade in our previous lease without any issues and broke even on it, which was a welcome bonus. Odis ran us through the finances side of things and was super friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was the wait for the paperwork to get done, but that has been the same with every car we have ever bought and is to be expected at this point, with that said, the process seemed to be as streamlined and fast as possible on their end. Would highly recommend for any vehicle purchase anyone is looking to make.
