Robert Cruz was very helpful and friendly. Got a great deal in a short amount of time. I was very impressed by the quick service here. Definitely recommend Pugi Volkswagen in Downers Grove, IL.

My family and I had a great experience at Pugi VW. My mom bought a 2020 Jetta after test driving a few options. From the moment we arrived, Robert was very patient and helpful with my mother who was car shopping for the first time in 20 or so years. All interactions we had with the team at this dealership were very positive, my family and I were blown away by the customer service. We will 100% be recommending this dealership in the future to friends and family looking to buy a new or used VW.
I was referred to Pugi VW by Audi of Westmont to repair a a trunk leak. On my first visit Brian the service manager did not communicate well. I left upset. Later that day I called to talk to the General Manager Mike and got voice mail. I left message explaining that I wanted to discuss my recent visit to the service department. About a week later Mike the GM called and explained that he was traveling and apologized for the delay in returning my call. We discussed my trunk leak and Brian a bit. He asked if I still wanted the work performed. I said Yes and the arrangements were made. I'm not sure if this was just a misunderstanding between Brian and me or if Mike the GM went out of his way to make this process smoother for me. Either way I thought it was great that they cared enough to call and then went out of their way to make the repairs as easy as they could for me, Loaner call and all. Sometimes you have give people a chance. I'd go back for service. They seemed to know VW's very well. Thanks Brian and Mike I appreciate your service.

I took my car in for a 7:45 AM appointment to have a 170000 mile check up, which can take about 3 hours or so to do so they offered me a ride back home as they had no loaners. While at home, I didn't receive a phone call until about 2:30 PM and they told me what was wrong and the repair costs I had to ok. I was surprised at the lateness, but as long as I got my car back by the end of the day I had no real issue with it. 5:45 PM came and I still had not heard that my car was finished. I called the operator and she told me that the VW Service had closed at 5. I had her check to see if my car was awaiting pick up and it wasn't. At no point, did they ever say my car was staying overnight. I needed my car as it was my only car, especially when I was using it to go out of town the next day. I was not happy. All I could do was wait until they opened the next day. I finally spoke with Jeremy, who apologized as he was originally told by the parts person that the part needed was in stock before he left work that day. However, apparently it wasn't and they wouldn't have the part until 8:15 AM and no one called to tell me that. When I finally got my car at 11:15 AM that next day, the bill had no discount on it for the coupon that I was using for the 170000, so I had to wait for that. However, I should have received a small discount regardless of a having a coupon. I would have been satisfied with a free oil change for the problem this caused. There were many apologies for the mix-up, but my extreme frustration is that I told them I needed my car to travel out of town when I dropped it off. I even mentioned it again when they called with the repair costs. I didn't have my only vehicle in the evening when I needed to run a bunch of errands before I left. None of which I was able to do. I was told I would have gotten a loaner should my car not be fixed to take out of town, but the point was there was no communication and there supposedly wasn't a loaner. It was a major inconvenience for me and all I got was apologies. They had no idea that I had to be at my out of town destination at a certain time because I didn't think I needed to give that level of detail. If this wasn't so close to a previous problem I had with this service department, I would have not have written a review as I respected and appreciated how they handled that problem as it was their fault. However, if this is the trend in service, I may have to rethink taking my car there.
Helpful parts department, low pressure salesmen, and renovated showroom.
We just bought a second car from Pugi. We just keep coming back because the car buying experience is like no other. Devon and Greg went above and beyond to get us a great deal. We love our new Atlas!
The best car buying and servicing experience EVER!
Pugi staff genuinely cares about the customer--I felt like I was "advised with respect"
versus "sold a car".
The service team consistently delivers as promised, and makes sure my time is valued and never wasted.
Pugi Hyundai is a class act!
Serviced my car twice. Excellent service. Fair pricing. Good timing. Treat you with respect and don t try to sell services you don t need. Free car wash.
We had a very pleasant experience with Pugi Volkswagen. In a short notice, in the morning, they had an appointment ready, made car available. Angel was very good to work with. Got down to business quickly and made the process efficient and had the car sale done without delay. Definitely recommend it!!!
Great dealership to buy a new Volkswagen. Both internet sales staff and sales staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. I was in and out with a new car fairly quick since I have done my research. Thank you.
Their Service Department always takes excellent care of me and Jeremy Gascoigne is awesome to work with. They have a beautiful store and great amenities available while you wait and everyone is friendly and professional.
Excellent customer service! Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend this dealership.
Recently bought a car here. Overall it was a good experience
STAY AWAY from the service department there's plenty of other dealerships that will not be sloppy with their work and then suggest new repairs to cover up their mistakes. We asked for a simple brake repair and they forgot to bleed the brakes. We took the car back to see what was wrong (had to pick up the car when they closed) and they recommended $600+ in new repairs. When we didn't believe them, we took it down the street and it was fixed in 20 minutes. They're either entirely incompetent or thought they could pull one over on us. To this day they stand behind their bad work and won't make it right. How they treat their customers is sad!
I WAS YESTERDAY FOR OIL CHANGE... EVERYTHING ON TIME, BEST SERVICES !!!
Egle
I went in to get my oil changed in my VW Passat - which went very smoothly and I am very happy about the service I received on my car. Everything was going well until I went to the cashier. This cashier was rude, she coped an attitude which I immediately caught onto and am very displeased about.
This exchange with a cashier who is supposed to be friendly to all customers and instead it left a sour taste in my mouth when I left. The cashier is the last person you deal with before you leave after a service, and unfortunately it left a bad impression. I understand that sometimes business can be slow, but regardless you are supposed to put your best foot forward with all your customers and this cashier decided to take 2 steps back.
Although the service was good and i appreciated the car report they gave me about potential fixes for my car in the future, that cashier left a sour taste to my visit - However, I am considering going back to give it another chance since the advisor Jeremy was great to deal with.
Will never go back to this dealer for service. I've been to two in the area. This one is 5 minutes from my house and the other is 25 minutes away. I choose to go 25 minutes away.
Solid all around buying experience. Staff willing to do what was needed to satisfy their customer's needs. Not overly sales-y, no major setbacks or issues.
Amazing staff and service. If you re looking for a VW, go see Robert. He answered all my questions and was so helpful. They also had all my paperwork ready to sign so I was in and out in 10mins. Best car buying experience!
You have the most annoying commercial I ve ever seen in my entire life
From Mike S in sales to John and Brian in service, awesome all the way around!!
Best VW dealership in the area by far. I'm an out of town customer and will absolutely do business with these guys again! I purchased an Atlas SEL Premium from Pugi and it was a pleasant and seamless experience. Make sure you ask for Devon Brown; he really knows how to treat his out of town customers!
Happy customer from TN
The experience was very go the Sale Consultant was very help answer all my question also got me the best deal Ann rate on the car I was buying.
Excellent service! Got me in and out in just a little over an hour! They fixed some electrical issues with my tech package and I hope it sticks! As far as car purchasing i'm 50/50. I tried to get an Atlas, but it was way over-priced. I went with an MDX, which was s lot more expensive and got it cheaper than this dealership could do on the Atlas which was way cheaper. I would give them another shot one day, but I just don't want to play games when dealing with car purchases.
Had a bad experience buying a 2009 Hyundai Genesis from them! They advertise their cars as Certified pre-pwned but in small print, they say it is "pre-certified". I talked to John and he informed me it was "pre-certified" which basically means nothing. My car had 23K miles when I bought it. I flew in from OKC to Chicago and when I got there, they informed me that it would cost an extra $2700 to certify the car up to 100K. For a "pre-certified" car, the fuel pump went out as soon as I drove back to OKC. before I flew out there, I had an agreement that I would drive away with the title, as long as I bring the check. When I got there, they inform me, that they can only mail me the title. This process took a week and a half with them informing me that the title had already been sent out. A week later, I get a phone call to verify my address so they could send me the title!. FOr someone who flew all the way from OKC to do business with them, they wouldn't even offer me a cup of water, but rather pointed me to the vending machines when I asked for some. Really disappointed in their customer service.
Angel helped me from the very first time we met. He really helped me out on some difficult situations and stuck through it . He never gave up in trying to get me the car I wanted. He really went above and beyond with the service. In the end of it all, I got the car I wanted with a great price and service. Thank you Angel and Pugi.
I had bad experience at Pugi with manager and sales person as well. I was looking for used Passat. I found one on their web site. The web site showed clearly that car was certified. When I started the negotiation the sales person was telling me that the car isn't certified so I would have to pay $1500 on top of the price that is on the website for the certification, where $500 out of $1500 was something totally different rather than certification. At the end of negotiation the dealer dropped the price below the price that was mentioned on the website but was still like $200 above what I was willing to pay and when I told them my price is going to be the final, the dealer increased price from even price that the dealer just said that they are willing to accept.
Who does things like that?
If you happen to choose this dealer please pay attention as they will try to play you.
Good luck!
Excellent customer service provided by Natalie Muenz. Fast and efficient.
Devon and Chad were very helpful with my purchase. Excellent customer service!
Good customer service but they won't negotiate pricing.
These guys are thieves! Went for an oil change and to check out a fault light for hill brake descent control they charged me to diagnose it and when they came back announced I needed a new abs module... in fact it was moisture in my brake light lens so they tried to turn $10 repair into almost $4000 called to complain I just got sent to voicemail and got no response from the management. . Then they had the stones to start sending me junk mail and email I finally went in to give them their junk mail when after 7 requests to take me off their lists they still hadn't. Stay away from this place!
Robbert Cruz great service and friendly! Very helpful
My wife and I recently came in with the intention of just taking a look at the new Atlas Cross Sport and met Dennis in sales as we walked in. Right off the bat he asked if we wanted to take a test drive which we did and fell in love with the car. We then sat down and he answered all of our questions. Never did we feel rushed or pushed in any way and he was an aboslute pleasure to work with! We ended up putting a down payment on the car and came back in and purchased a few days later. The process was nice and quick and we got what we feel to be a great deal! We also met with Odis from Financing who also was excellent. I would highly recommend stopping into Pugi if you're interested in making a vehicle purchase. The customer service is second to none!
I just purchased my new 2019 VW Arteon at Pugi. This is the 6th car I have purchased at Pugi. They do a great job. Robert was easy to work with and they always do a great job on service.
Sales team was polite, courteous, and most importantly, patient. I would recommend this dealership to anyone.
Staff is wholesome and not pushy. Car that I wanted to see was pulled around immediately for a test drive. Since I was from the area and knew the terrerain and various landmarks no hardsales occured during the drive. Initial paperwork went quickly and smoothly. The finance manager also turned out to be friendlier if that has never been your experience. More then overall
I had a great experience at Pugi. They helped me get the used car I have been looking for.
Horrible experience, pushy salesmen that was very aggressive and unprofessional. I thought from
Reviews Devon would be great but it was the worst sales experience I ever had. Wasn t willing to work with price so we went to a different Volkswagen dealership that was willing to work with us. Devon claimed to have the best price in the area and that was not the case as we went to Volkswagen in downtown Chicago. His idea of negotiation was abruptly saying no and going down on price $300 lol absolute joke avoid at all costs.
I drove an hour and half to pugi vw because i heard great things! They were all true! My salesman was Robert and he made the whole process smooth and easy! I told him what i needed and he set it up fast! Special thanks to otis as well for making sure the paperwork was fast and simple. I love my 17 vw jetta and definitely recommend them!
Just purchased a car there Kelsie was very helpful honest and gave us the best price he could. No haggling. Ask for Kelsie if you go there
The service department is awful there. I took my car for service since 6 different lights came on my dashboard. The car was 2012 vw cc and I have purchased it a week ago. My friend check out the potential problems and told me to go to dealer and tell them to fix it. The dealer had me replace the battery ($120) on almost new car due to low voltage code. They did not mention anything about wheel sensor code which my friend told me about. I left the dealer and next day I got a "Christmas tree" on my dash again. Took it back to dealer they just reset the code and had me go on my way. It took them 5 visits to replace the wheel sensor which was the original problem. Wasted my time but at least they did not charge me $50 deductible for coming in 5 times with the same problem. Also, the first time I came for service they told me that I don't have warranty. I called VW USA customer service and they told me I did have warranty. I came back to the dealer next day and magically the warranty was there.
I have been looking the past 2 weeks and was between this VW location and another. From the moment I started speaking with Angela at Downers Grove via email I felt I was more than just another sale. When I pulled up at the dealer I was not bombarded and actually welcomed and asked what I wanted as opposed to them pushing me into something I didn t want.
Starting with Robert (sales), Javier all the way to Otis (Financing) the whole process and everyone was amazing and welcoming. I was there for 3 hours tops and that is because I couldn t decide on the options I wanted. They were not pushy and didn t try to sell you on garbage you don t need. I walked in with an upside down trade in and walked out with a brand new 2020 VW Atlas Cross Sport that I absolutely love at a payment I can handle!
I would recommend this place to all Friends/Family and Strangers! If you re looking come here. ~Cheers VW on a great experience!
I will never buy a car anywhere else! Javier, Odis, Kelsey took such good care of me and always do. The level of service is so hard to find at dealerships but I found it here. Kind, quick, efficient, helpful and professional.
I rarely write reviews but I am compelled to share my positive experience at Pugi. After spending an entire day at other dealers who were doing the typical obnoxious sales pitches and wasting my time, coming into Pugi VW was a breath of fresh air. I received assistance throughout the buying process. Despite being short staffed on a busy day, I received personal attention from start to finish. I was given time and space to make decisions and never once felt pressured. I had driven to Chicago from Kansas City to buy a car and everyone at the dealership was extremely respectful of my time and eager to make sure I was completely satisfied before I drove off. I would highly recommend Pugi VW and I would definitely make the 8 hour drive again to ensure the same high level of customer service and respect that I received.
100% the best car buying experience I have had. I started with one VW dealer in the area I chose as it was closest to me but had an extremely disappointing experience with them. Pugi VW gave me the complete opposite experience- they were respectful, professional, and fair. With one quick phone call to the manager Javier, he delivered exactly what I wanted and the price I wanted. Within 2 days, he brought a car from over 100 miles away with the exact specs I wanted and followed through with everything he communicated to me. His communication was excellent with great response times whether phone, email or text. While I always have my guard up somewhat with car dealerships and salesmen, I felt he was genuine and could trust him. When we came to the dealer to pick up the car, it was such a seamless process. Robert was one of the salesmen that helped with the closing of the deal and was professional, efficient, and friendly. The financial manager Greg was also great- didn t try to push us with buying extra add ons, but was able to give us some helpful options if we choose to add on later.
Thank you Pugi for this experience. While you all do this everyday for a living, we felt like a valued customer and appreciated the extremely pleasant and seamless process.
Great experience on an emergency/unexpected vehicle purchase. I highly recommend going to see Javier and Odis, they will take care of you.
Simply wonderful. Lizzy, and the young finance associate did everything they could to ensure satisfaction. I am extremely pleased with my purchase, and will indeed return!
never bought a car from here, but I alway have it served here. Adam is my service adviser he is such a friendly guy, always welling to help.
My experience with the service department at this dealership was a nightmare. I came in to pick up a new key and floor mats. For some reason they took the car to the back to do this simple thing, and an hour later I got it back. The very second I opened the driver's door, I looked down and saw a tear in the leather of my front passenger seat. I immediately went back in to tell the girl who was helping me that there was a tear in my seat, where there was no tear before. She said she needed to tell her manager. She came back and said the manager said it didn't happen here and have a nice day. He never even came out to look at it. I was stunned. I drive my car everyday, my daughter was actually with me that day and was a passenger in my car. We would be the first ones to know if there is a tear in the leather front seat. I walked in to talk to the manager, Brian, and was confronted by the most unprofessional, rude service manager you can imagine. He basically called me a liar and said that there was no way I could prove that it happened at VW. To say I was angry is an understatement. He proceeded to come out to my car and look at the seat (after he had already made up his mind that he had no responsibility), and try to claim that the leather was worn out and tore on its own. This was a complete joke since the seat was obviously cut or torn, not worn out as he tried to claim. It was so frustrating to bring a car in for a simple key and floor mats, and end up with my front seat being vandalized and this dealership taking no responsibility. The girl even came back out to say that she talked to someone in service who said they saw the tear but "forgot" to note it. Whatever that means. Again, they are trying to say it was torn when I brought it in and that is an outright lie! They literally couldn't care less about the damage they caused to my leather seat and have no intention of fixing it. My husband and I have tried calling to talk to someone who might be more professional or interested in customer service, but no one from Pugi Volkswagon has bothered to contact us. I am disgusted with the business practices of this dealership. Beware of bringing your care here for service. I wouldn't let it out of your sight. I am not surprised by other reviews I've read where people have brought in their cars for one problem, and ended up with another. Do not let them touch your car! Brian in service is incompetent and unprofessional and shouldn't be the manager of customer service if Pugi cares about its customers.
Terrible experience. I paid $600 for work on the vehicle, but when they returned it to me it was no better than before. I don't think they even test drove it. I will not be taking my Passat here again.
I would not even give this dealership one star. The manager quoted me the wrong price by thousands less than what they could sell me a car for. Complete waste of time. They are incredibly unprofessional and helpful. Don t go here.
Bought a New VW Golf here. Salesman was a stereotype 20s something vape smoker. Another salesman thought he was 'entitled' to the sale and stalked us around the showroom floor without introducing himself. He did say "Hey Greg!" and starting laughing as though I should feel bad he didn't get the sale??
I think I spoke to him on the phone once months earlier after I was already working with the first salesman. I called to complain, they said he would be fired, but of course he was there when I went in for service a few months later. They also tried selling me a purple colored Golf and offering 1000 off for it even though I expressed zero interest in it. Still, they had the cheapest cost on a new vehicle and that's all that matters to me since I don't expect anything good from dealerships.
The car dealership business in general is sleazy but this place is among the worst for new car sales.
Best customer service and price of all the dealerships we visited. We worked with Robert Cruz and he was fantastic. He listened to what we wanted and found it! Even though the car was out of state, he found it and was very patient with us. Every other VW dealership tried to get us to purchase a car on the lot, even though it wasn t what we asked for. We are so happy with our purchase! We bought a 2019 VW Tiguan SEL Premium R-Line with 4-Motion and third row seating. It s beautiful!
Everyone that we encountered at the dealership was friendly and helpful. They answered our questions and helped us find the exact vehicle that we were looking for. They made the car buying process easy and painless.
I had a great experience with the General Manager, Gary Nudelman. I bought my vehicle from Pugi VW in 2016. At the time of purchase, I negotiated for the installation of heated seats. My vehicle was taken by a representative of Pugi VW to a third party for installation. On its return, the same representative stated that I had a lifetime warranty for the installation and if ever I encountered any problems I should bring the vehicle to Pugi VW for repairs. As it so happened a couple of days ago, that is 4 years down the line, I encountered a problem. The seats were not heating. I approached the Service Manager and was told that I had been misinformed by the representative as there was no lifetime warranty. Obviously I was very disappointed on hearing this and so I requested to see the Manager. I was directed to Gary Nudelman. I explained to him about the problem as well as the misinformation about the lifetime warranty. He was very attentive and apologetic. He also confirmed that it was true that no lifetime warranty exists. He assured me not to worry and that he would still take care of the matter and have my seats repaired. He was ever so courteous and professional. Without my knowledge he had already arranged for a loaner vehicle for me to use! The next day my vehicle was returned to me with the heated seats working perfectly and with no charge for the repairs! True to his word, Gary took care of me and the problem. He provided me with outstanding and exceptional customer service and I am very grateful to him. Thank you Gary, you're the best!
They lost a customer for life. I was ready to purchase a 2012 volkswagen with good milage on it. I had a good first experience with agreeing on the deal. The price was good, they still did tried to sell me some stupid extended warranty. Anyway, I submitted a credit application and they said I needed a co-signer. I said ok and that on the next day I will have a co-signer and we will submit the application. I did all of that and started contacting the dealership to let them know I wanted to complete the deal. The finance manager Greg had previously given me his cell number so we can keep in touch. He became unavailable. Then I called the sales guy Matt. He was also unavailable and I left a message for him to call me back, he never did. I called the next day and finally got in touch with this idiot Matt. He was apologetic but I could tell he had no idea how to handle a potential customer. He assured me that they were working on it and that I will be contacted within the hour. They never did and the next day I called and found out that they sold my car and that they were still working on my credit application. I am never gonna buy anything from Pugi and I will be sure to tell everyone I know. I am popular social media giant and I will cut your customer base down.
Excellent service with no pressure. It was very easy to purchase a car here.
My experience with Pugi Volkswagen, especially Robert Cruz, was outstanding. They made the process seem less and very easy. I love my Volkswagen and would highly recommend checking this dealership out!
We were at several dealerships today, Devon was the most knowledgeable, personable and honest salesman we met.
We walked out with a great deal and as happy customers. Ask for Devon if you are in the market for a Volkswagen. Devon was fantastic!
Everyone at the dealership worked to make our windshield replacement go well. Very nice staff. We picked up an errant stone and a subsequent crack on our windshield. Easy to schedule a time for replacement. I waited with the car for 2 hours. Not a problem at all.
Sheryl Casey, Pugi Volkswagen's service consultant, is great to deal with and the best at her job. I have experienced mediocre service here in the past but she went above and beyond her job expectations to ensure that I was taken care of! I had 3 keys break while trying to start my car over the course of 2 years. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty and she was able to program my keys, replace the steering column, upgrade my cars software, change my oil, and even took care of my Uber from work back to the dealership to pick up my car as it was fixed all within 8 hours! I strongly recommend going to Sheryl here at Pugi Volkswagen as she provided the BEST service out of every dealership I've purchased a car from in the past and every service person. She kept me updated, ensured that my extended warranty covered parts before fixing them/charging me, and was very kind and caring. She went out of her way to make sure my car was fixed and that I was satisfies. Thank you so much Sheryl!!!
I can't say enough about their service department. Always handled very professionally. All staff members are great, Jeremy especially. I used to shop around for tires and repairs, now I just head straight there.
Excellent service. The gentlemen named Mike Sarovich and Grey Hines are very considerate, polite and helpful. They made our purchase feel so easy and smooth. Highly recommended!
I had the most amazing experience working with Javier and Chad from Pugi VW. They helped me get exactly what I was looking for, and spent the time going through every detail of the Tiguan with me. All of the pricing that is on their website is the ACTUAL price, not like other dealerships that include all of the discounts and you actually qualify for NONE of them!!! I did not feel rushed or pressured when working with them. If you re in the market for a new car please go to Pugi and make sure to see Javier or Chad, they make you feel like family!!!
Javier, Dennis and Robert all helped make the purchasing experience absolutely enjoyable. I can say with certainty they were the best sales team I have dealt with at a dealership. I highly recommend if you are interested in a car to work with the sales team here.
Terrible experience with the Service Department there recently. I brought my car there for an oil change at 9:30am. I showed them a coupon and was told the car would be ready at 11am. I received a phone call at 12:30pm letting me know my car was ready and when I went to pick it up I noticed the hood was open. I thought the mechanic must have just forgotten to close it so I didn t say anything when I checked out because I figured I could close it myself. I went inside and they forgot to take my oil change coupon off the price. I then went outside to close the hood and it would not close. A young kid saw me having trouble and came up to me and said yeah we were having trouble too . I asked to speaker with the Service Advisor and he informed me my latch was broken. There were ZERO issues with the latch when I brought the car in. I didn t want to drive with a bouncing hood so I had to PAY for a new latch. After the new latch was installed I was driving home and noticed a message come up on my car that my front headlight was out. Once again there were ZERO issues with my headlight when I brought my car in for an oil change. I drove back and told them and the same Service Advisor kept feeding lines of bologna. He asked another kid to take a look and this kid said the filament must of cracked when we were trying to close the hood . NONE of this was communicated to me when I picked up my car 1 1/2 hours after the initial time I was told. I sent Puigi my customer feedback and the Manager called me and informed me that my latch and headlight breaking were just coincidence . UNBELIEVABLE! My car wasn t finished until 4:30pm that day after dropping It off for a 9:30am oil change. I don t know what happened to this Service Department. They use to be reliable, but there has obviously been some drastic changes for the worse. I wanted to share my story so others are aware of the fishy business going on over there before bringing their car for service.
I brought my Jetta in for service on a Saturday morning. They were busy, but I was able to drop it off and pick it up at the end of the day. They were super friendly (thanks, Pat!) and got my car all fixed up in a couple of hours. Best part is, when I picked it up, they didn't even charge me for the labor. Thank you, Pugi! I will xertai ly be a returning customer now that I am a VW owner.
Great experience in buying our new Golf R. Bill, Gustavo, & Odis all made this day a great one.
Great customer service would recommend Pugi VW to anyone looking to purchase a VW.
Great dealership. Spent the average amount of time you would while buying a car. BUT they always go above and beyond for my husband and I! They know better than anyone how fast we like to trade in cars
My experience with Pugi VW while buying my new car has been fantastic. My dealings with my sales rep Rey Torres and other members of the sales staff both before purchase and even after purchase have been tremendous. It's clear to me that they care about the cars they are selling and the people buying them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Pugi VW again.
Very friendly staff with some good pricing options.
The white young short guy with the shine bear was rude and unprofessional .. shame on him. He is the reason why I change my mind to not buying from that dealer!!!
Met with Kelsie Stowe and Chad Mulholland of Pugi VW on 12/9/19. They made an offer to sell a car. They have not been reachable since then, not returning calls or texts. Perhaps this was some sort of customer scam?
I would not recommend this dealership due to poor customer service.
We had a great experience working with Robert and Odis to purchase our new vehicle. They were both very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and honest throughout the entire process. Robert went above and beyond from the moment we walked in. I would highly recommend Pugi Volkswagen!
I always have a great experience at this location. The staff is friendly and they get my vehicle back to me quickly and the work is always done correctly.
We bought 3 cars from them the last 3 weeks, a Jetta for my son, a used Toyota for our daughter and a beautiful VW Tiguan, their customer service is way beyond excellent, we drove from Wisconsin just for their amazing customer service
Unfortunately my wife and I had to purchase two cars this year. The process was easy and the staff was a pleasure to deal with. I have since been back twice (for an oil change on each car) and I have had the same experience with their service staff. I would recommend Pugi to anyone looking for a new car.
We had trade in our old VW and lease a new one. My wife talked with Rey on the phone and explained all the issues we had, to see if he could help us. Not only was he able to help us, he had everything ready to go when we arrived at the dealership. We just had to walk in, pick our new car, sign the paperwork and drive away. Rey is top notch and we highly recommend him if you are looking for a helpful, knowledgeable and personable sales person ~John W.
Jeremy was in service today and was awesome. He heard all my things that needed to be done for 1 year service. Was extremity good about making sure it was what I wanted and carry helpful. Much better experience then in December. Love it cause it's close. Also the gentleman that fixed my dash board was extremely knowledgeable and explained sometimes on keeping the car interior clean. Thanks for all your help today.
Bought 3 cars from Pugi so far and haven't had any regrets!
Best car buying experience I ever had! Very professional, and genuinely helpful.
I have serviced my cars at Pugi VW and Pugi Mazda. (I have a car purchased from and also have a few horror experiences at Pugi Mazda). Pugi VW is a 50/50 chance at honest, good service. I wish I could remember all of the employees names and positions from all of the times Iv'e been here. I am a slightly timid, honest, respectful, people pleasing person who is always aware of their surroundings. I have dealt with genuine employees that put forth some extra effort finding me an answer for a question, never leave me waiting too long, or have provided me with service that was not needed but pleasantly surprising and appreciated. Then I have met employees that blatantly lie to my face. Even after nicely showing them facts from multiple sources, or some area that I have more than the average persons knowledge on. Their service department seems to be where I have had the most issues. I have been quoted a ludicrous amount for a service that 3 other VW dealerships have quoted me for hundreds and hundreds of dollars less. When dropping my car off at their service "express". I have sat/stood waiting to be helped while service employees are obviously just laughing/shooting the breeze occasionally glancing over at me. This could possibly just be my fault for not being assertive. Though I think I made it pretty obvious that I was looking for help. Then a handful of other occasions I cannot recall at the moment where I have experienced poor quality of service. Just recently I had to bring my car in for service here. They could not fit me in that day because they were pretty busy. Which I understood and was fine with. The service advisor I spoke with on this occasion was very polite and honest He was patient and answered every question I had. Though, EVERY SINGLE TIME where I have dropped my car off for service at Pugi VW and needed a temporary/courtesy vehicle. I am always told that none are available. Even though I am eligible for one under my warranty. I did ask to be informed about a specific issue with my service if it occurred. I was never contacted until the repairs were complete and my car was ready for pickup. The repairs were completed earlier than expected. When I arrived at the dealership I was quickly pointed to the cashier by a sales person to sign and pick up my car. I asked the cashier if she or anyone else knew some more details on the service provided. They were unsure and eventually told me no one was available to answer my questions. I have no complaints about the quality of work for the service I came in for. So to end... I feel like you never know what you're going to get when visiting Pugi VW. Comparing all of the times and experience I have had with Pugi VW. This latest visit on my personal experience scale, would rate about a 6-7 out of 10. If you can't take the chance on the quality of service that you need. I would suggest another dealership. Unless you have learned which employees that are best to avoid when taking your vehicle in.
I've now bought 2 cars at this dealership and gotten another to buy from them too. Their customer service is amazing and the service team are personable, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Love this dealership and the people working there!
Last 3 visits I have received really good service for my VW here.
Pugi VW service is pretty bad. It appears that there is no communication between service advisers. There is also no way to find out what is wrong with your car, if your service adviser is out of office. I found out first hand; it is not possible for anyone (but your service adviser) to find the status of your car or repair. They also appear to be very reluctant to provide a straight answer on what is wrong with your car. I worry about the honesty of any repair shop or dealership that is reluctant to provide a clear diagnosis for your car. Therefore I would strongly recommend against anyone going there for warranty service. Here is my experience over the last 2 days.
My check engine light went on. I made an appointment at Pugi VW in Downers Grove to have it checked out. At 12:50 pm my car was returned to me. My service adviser Brian was out to lunch, so another service adviser gave me back my keys and said I am all set. I asked what the problem was and he told me it was in the emissions system and covered under warranty. The parts are being ordered. I asked what is the actual issue. He said he did not know and would have Brian call me. At around 5:35pm I called back because I had not yet heard from anyone. I was told by the operator that Brian went home. I could leave a voicemail or talk to another adviser. So I spoke to another service adviser (Tom maybe?) who told me that he does not know what the issue was, only that parts were ordered. I asked if there was any way to find out. He said no, only Brian could tell me. I asked if there was any way to pull up my records and see what the problem was. He said it is not possible, only Brian can do so. I thought that was crazy and asked to speak to a manager. He said Brian was the service manager.
He said I could call back tomorrow to talk to Brian. I said Brian should call me back. With that I let him go. As of 5:30pm today, I still had not heard anything. So I called back to talk to Brian. This time I was able to speak to Brian. He said that they were ordering parts for my car. I asked why he had not contacted me or made any effort to let me know the problem with my car. He said he did not feel he needed to. He said there was no charge and parts were on order. After the parts came in (he had no idea when), someone would contact me about my car.
So we had this back and forth conversation. He cannot understand why I would need to be informed what the problem is with my car. I asked what was being ordered. I know if I did not ask; I would never find out until it arrived. He stated it was a new particulate filter. It was impossible for him to understand the need to let a customer know the problem with his car. He could not even understand why I was concerned. I said a doctor would not let you leave a checkup without letting you know what was found. But he was defiant in his conviction that there was no need to let me know what was wrong with the car. I finally hung up.
If the service manager at Pugi VW is this dense, I am very concerned. Brian is the least customer focused service manager I have met. Until he is gone from Pugi, I will be gone from Pugi.
Bought two cars here, have always had a good experience
The headlight on my 2009 VW bug was not working. I bought new bulbs and took my car to the Pugi Service department. They put my bulbs in for $120.00 and told me there were 'bent pins; that they fixed for me. I said thank you, and went on my way. The next day, the bulbs were out again. I made a return appointment and took a 1/2 day off work to get it resolved as they told me it would be 'several hours.' When I pick up my car, it is not fixed and they tell me, "whoever worked on it before broke the mounting clips. Take it back to them and tell them to fix it or bring it back a THIRD time along with $595 MORE dollars and Pugi will fix it." I argued that THEY were the ones who worked on it last and was told it would be discussed with management and I would be called back before my next scheduled appointment for the weekend. Never happened. Shoddy workmanship and outright thievery. Do NOT take your vehicle to these charlatans!
Took car in to get air conditioning repaired and got car back with a smashed bumper and cracked trim. They did fix it after a lot of complaining
Terrible customer service especially from the Sales Consultant name Celia Mijangos! After we tried one car he didn't let us try another one. Saying it's Volkswagen's policy, of not letting people test drive and adding miles to the car, such bullsh*t! Worst customer service experience I've had after visiting a few different VW dealer. I was seriously looking for a car but his customer service was seriously terrible and horrid! I talked to another person and he apologize on behalf of him, but still!
