One of my accounts was erroneously banned (as of 3/23/2020, despite me not having logged in in YEARS), and there's no way to contact them for support. No email address, no phone number, no live chat. Only an appeals form that lacks any opportunity to provide open-ended information or engage in an ongoing conversation. I work in customer experience, and this is one of my worst service experiences ever. I was hoping to reactivate my membership and continue to level a historic account that I've spent a not insignificant amount of time and money on only to be met with this. Honestly ridiculous. Fire some of your PMs that killed your game with the "evolution of combat" and forced you to re-release a historic version of your game to remain profitable and hire some customer support staff.
My experience: fun games, but poor customer support. This is the only game company I have found with zero person to person communication. My friends experience: banned out of the blue, no reason given, no appeal granted, no evidence presented. Apparently jagex doesn't care that some people weren't changing their password every single day (the ban was before runescape instituted all of the new account security measures) and other people like to hack accounts.
i would like to speak to a member of jagex for the runescape portion. i love getting banned for "macroing Minor" but there is no way to get in contact to find out what they think i did and there is no way to appeal the ban. as someone who has had my account for 14 years its pretty unreal how they treat their customers. if this was a new account sure. but i have 14 years of my life into this and they cant get me proof of my, "macroing" i find it unprofessional and recently they have removed all ways to contact them off the runescape page and want you to do everything through the site which is running around in circles. its sad that my years of runescaping will most likley come to an end now because i cant get in contact with someone and find out what happened and try to solve the issue.
Wouldn't even pay $10 for osrs membership, no one plays trashy rs3, why don't they have membership separate for osrs for like $5. I guess i'll just buy osrs gold and buy bonds, it's more cheaper
My name is Jake and I would like to follow up on an issue that occurred on June 25th 2013. This is the day my Runescape account, Jakeimb, was unfortunately permanently banned for Macro use . It comes to my attention, that this is also known as botting. I know that I personally have never botted in any form within the world of Runescape, and never have intend to, nor have I ever considered it. Macro use is just plain wrong and defeats the whole purpose of this brilliant game. I strongly feel although this ban is unfair and unjust, as I can firmly say that I have not breached this offence in reality. I am just wondering if there is any way of dealing with this miss-hap, as I would like to retain my old Jakeimb account which I have played for almost 10 years now! I am very willing to help out with this problem if I can in some way!
I hope one day I will be elegible to slay some more monsters in Runescape with my character Jakeimb!

The costumer support is honestly very bad, try to hire more people so they can respond to peoples emails, calls, ect. So i think that you can get alot more people playing if you do this too, since they would know that there account is in good hands, for example, my account got hijacked so i tried to contact jagax for about a week, no one responded so i just made a new account, i still quit for a little while since that account had insane stuff in it, i had a 1 month membership that i lost too, i need a refund for that, when you play runescape and spend money its risky since theres a chance that something is going to happen to your account, so try to help people out and jagax might be saved.
I've had an account on their servers since 2004 and they have always taken comments and suggestions into account, though with all businesses they can't do everything that every customer asks of them since sometimes its just not monetarily viable to do so.
I have not had to contact them too much since their service is great, and when I have had problems in the past I usually get a reply even for simple matters, although I am a do-it-yourself kinda person, so if I can fix it on my end I do that before even going to their support, since its usually on the users end.
Everything is pretty much automated, I can say they try their best, but they have threw away some of their longtime values in the past few years, but that's business.
Jagex is a great company who runs a great game. RuneScape has been a part of my life for the last 13 years since 2003 (with a short break in the middle) and it's been a great 13 years! Ignore all of the bad reviews on here as they are just from people that are upset that they were caught breaking the rules of the game. If you don't break the rules, you won't be banned from the game.
They've brought back Old School RuneScape which is what I play and are very active with the community. They are constantly posting and responding to threads on the subreddit for the game, provide seals of approval and awards to various websites that provide support information for the game, and run regular polls where they ask the players of the game whether an update should be done. Thanks Jagex for providing such a great game!

If you work for this company then you lost ur humanity! Very bad human service. People get threaded like garbage. Only famous banned people get response from mods , normal people have no chance to prove that account got stolen and got a perm ban.
Useless staff and the investors or people funding this company will be in for a unpleasant surprise from the way they're going. Too many companies funded and just burning through cash.
Well I have no way to contact Jagex to discuss this issue so I guess I will post it here. My main Runescape account was permanently banned for botting with no appeal option. Now let's get one thing straight; I did bot, for roughly three days to get my Divination level from 91 to 97. I did this because it was my last skill I needed to get to 99, I had a limited amount of time to enjoy the game, and I wanted to spend that time actually playing rather than grinding. I was and am fully aware that botting is against the rules. So with that being said, I'm not going to act like this ban doesn't make sense. However, I have been playing Runescape for almost ten years, and this account is almost ten years old. This account alone has had a lot of membership and a lot of time spent on it. That coupled with the fact that this is my first offense EVER, on any account, I would really appreciate a second chance. Reset my Divination to 91. Hell, reset it to 1 if you feel I need to be punished for this. Just don't permanently ban an account I spent so much time and money on. I spent a long time loving and playing this game on this account that I can't just not try to get it back. I shouldn't have botted. I've never done it before, on any game, and I'm an avid gamer. It was a mistake. I've spent a large amount of time trying to figure out how to contact someone to plead my case, but it appears that there's nowhere to do that since my ban is not able to be appealed. I understand the reason for this, I just feel as though there should be extenuating circumstances.

Disgusting customer service, no responce to emails, twitter or letters. Generic response of "100% accuracy of bans". - Even more frustrating as they are wrong in my case. I have never seen such arrogance or flagrant disregard for customer service.
Had my account hijacked 2 times. First time I didn't get banned, also I changed all my info and set up 2 step verification, the whole 9 yards after this. Eventually after a hiatus of not playing I came back and found my account was locked and banned. I ended up appealing my ban (which I was worried they wouldn't help me), and a couple days later a Mod replied. They said I was free to recover my account since they locked it until I contacted them to recover it. They found that my account had a unusual period of activity and deemed I was not apart of this. I was able to recover my account, which was now lv 71 (I was like lv 32 the last time I logged in months ago) and had a ton of members objects with dragon weapons, so I ended up buying a month of members which I've never done before and sold all that for like 10 mil. I do wish Jagex had a call center or at least a support chat, but in the end I got my problem solved. Thx jagex mod team!
Lazy company sold their game and let it fall, greedy company then opened back up the most popular version of the game and made in-game currency purchaseable with real money, employees do no meaningful work, your thousands of hours of effort put into your little character will be wasted.. runescape is crap because 1 they ban people for no reason what so ever just on a whim or because someone who is jealous snitches on them they say they investigate but we all know that is bullshit because i see the same bots every day whilst my character was banned for picking up items on the ground which is perfectly legal 2 pmods are totally corrupt and they mute for no reason once i walked up on pmod conspiring with others to break rules and just said what's up my account was then muted for 2 weeks 3 customer service what customer service it is a joke you tweet them and they get back to you when they feel like it in addition if u are banned for botting even as above you are not allowed any appeal process which is completly wrong 4 they have "bot busters" who are basicly nazi jackboots who ban anyone who is relativly successfull in the game this is to keeo ppl making new accounts and buy more memberships there are so many more but im not gonna post here i have a feeling that my account will be banned just for posting a negative review which just supports my theroy they are jack boot nazis who disallow anyone from expressing an opinon

Jagex has THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE that could possibly exist! As some one mentioned earlier they only care about the money... My account is glitched and I cannot get in touch with jagex no matter which method I use, tried calling them and guess what no answer! I emailed them and guess what? NO ONE DID REPLIED TO ME! I have a clan mate in costa rice, he is finding it impossible to pay for his membership. He stuck on that axeso5 page, it will not let us send him runescape cards from the untied states, hes not able to pay w his credit card and doesn't get the whole axeso system> please fix this, its very annoying!! I love this game, but am very frustrated for him!!!
No phone number = 1 star. You cant trust a company with no phone number. Just started to play like last month again realized i had 145 days last played with membership. Im trying to get a refund on those 145 days. Looks like it wont happen. What's the better business Bureau in the UK?

They Support staff literally does nothing but say they are not responsible for anything that happens on the site, we are told to report those who break the rules, scam, or threaten other players in a real world manner however they NEVER do anything about it nor do they refund anything spent on the game even if you want the refund because of the constant faults in the game mechanics. Has potential to be more but the company is just concerned with getting all the money they can regardless of whether it is justified or not. I'm sure they will leave a reply saying they apologize for the problems I am having but my entire clan is leaving the game and canceling memberships that have been active for years because they simply refuse to help players
Just found out about this company as my wife's credit card has been fraudulently used on one of their games. It is a shame that the company do not have any phone contact and only respond within a 48 hour window as it slows down any chance of fighting on-line fraud...
No words can say how disappointed I am with Jagex. Their Customer Support is beyond terrible. I had an account with 1.5b xp with roughly 2b gp with over 700 game days played. I got false banned for 2 days for macroing. I know it's not a perm ban, but my question is: If they were 100% certain I was macroing, like they say they are. Why not have permed banned me. It's such a bad feeling being accused wrongly... I have quit since then, because what's the point in playing a game where you get wrongly banned and can't even appeal it, because of their horrible Customer Support. There is no further reason to play and put in hours, if you can be falsely wronged. I was even muted once for sticking up for another player...
Unable to support this game company because support can not support me. I've been falsely banned on a beloved account (that I had been paying for separately same as all my other accounts. +1 for WoW) and was given NO way to appeal my ban. Its been almost two years since the ban and I've been unable to get attention of mods on twitter and reddit which should not be how customer support is handled. Help me enjoy your game and become a paying customer again! All of my other accounts are perfectly fine and playable which have all used the same clients and native windows programs to play. I used to speak great things Jagexs behalf. However I'm forced to speak against because of the horrendous customer support.
Got banned my main on rs3, because my brother used autoclicker on the osrs version, i wast like 200daya on rs3 all legal. They are different servers, you cant ban both.
The game used to be a lot of fun but they just don't know how to keep up! Their updates are really just really bad because they keep adding more crap no one wants or needs and their content is also losing its quality which it used to have back in the days. It doesn't help to bring back the oldschool runescape because the content gets boring and they just suck at improving and keeping up with the mass. I do not feel like playing runescape anymore like I used to. Maybe I just got older and it is a game for kids. I just don't feel lile playing it anymore.
I really need help recovering my account, ever since i changed my email it got perma locked and get denied the recovery appeal, its like an automated email that i get every time i try to do the appeal. Really sucks how you watch 15y go to the dumpster just cuz you decided to change an email.

restarted playing this game afte ra 5 year break.. after about a week of playing old school... i was banned! accused of botting.. i am on maternaty leave and play this game non stop.. guess that means im a bot :( perma banned after 15 years of playing. terrible customer service.
Their customer service is the worst. they do not respond through there in game communications, they do not respond to any emails sent to them no matter what email address of theirs you send it to and they do not even appear to take phone calls. Maybe they should spend more money on customer service instead of touting how great they are with all the other features because without customer service your nothing.
Played the game for about 10 years, spent hundreds of dollars on membership... but one day someone claimed to be me, used some of my real life details (name, address, e-mail) some of which was wrong. Jagex gave them my account. Then when I wanted to get my account back, when I gave the CORRECT information, jagex refused to give me my account back. Eventually I got it back but I was extremely pissed off. They gave my account away to someone who was clearly commiting identity fraud. I hope the kid gets thrown in jail later in life.
i started runescape back in 2003 and have been playing on and off till now a account was hacked and got band and when i put in a ticket to get my account back and was told that it was my fault that jagex got hacked and lost the info to my account and that even know i have payed years of membership for multiple account nothing can be done to help me but o i can start a new account and pay even more membership and start over on new one this is the worst customer service i have ever had to deal with and this company is nothing but thieves and just want money they will not help u no matter how much u spend and care nothing for there players/community as long as u start new account and pay money there happy i will not play this game or support this company ever again.
i had recently bought a membership and tried logging into my account "Black Terror", when a message popped up telling me I was banned for macroing? I've been a rubescspe player for 8 years and all my stats are legit I even had to reset due to the runescape 3, osrs seperation. I did not bot on my account the only thing I could think of is some kind of malware or hijacker unknowingly accessing my account, I will do anything to log into my account and play your nostalgic sensation known as runescape even if I had to pay. I just need my voice to be heard because I am wrongfully being accused of something I didn't do and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one but I will do whatever it takes to show my dedication and will power. Despite what all the people here say the games Jagex produces are epic. For example Runescape is one of the best mmo's out there, the customer support is outstanding and there are epic updates, every week.
I recommend everyone to play games from Jagex, especially Runescape.

I have played for more than 10 years runescape and they tell me that I have incurred the biggest ban of using bot when that is not true if they have tests I would like them to show them to me, how unfair that on August 20, 2017 they did what unfair to me ...... Nope, there is no way to email or talk to someone, so i guess my account is just gone forever, all those hours put into it for nothing, the "help" recover password or account is absolutley useless and whoever designed the new password recovery system shouldnt have a job anymore. Absolutly horrible customer service provided by these people, received a ban when i was inactive, have proof that i did no such thing (my IP has not connected to their server on that account for some months now, yet it was banned yesterday for botting i have proof i have committed no such offense yet they still give me no way to appeal this, no way to contact them, i have tried their HQ phone number to no avail.

Runescape unjustly banned my account. Also they have the worst customer support of any company in the world. Lift my ban and get a customer support email, and I'll rethink this rating. I got banned for "botting", something that I didn't do. My account was hacked. On Monday, September 21, 2015, at around 7:00 et, I tried to log in several times with each time being unsuccessful. The next day my account was banned with no appeal. I tried to contact Jagex, but like I said, the customer support is awful. I couldn't find any emails that worked, so I'm using this. In conclusion: Jagex's customer support stinks. Jagex always makes lame excuses for their problems but this is over the line.
Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing with a company. For 13 years I have not talked to a single human being from their customer support, it is all automated and generic replies. Their "support ticket system" is nothing short of a joke. They say three days maybe longer, but in reality it has been years with no response for either of my accounts lodes0 and lodes007. They do not care as a company and are truly heartless, with automated and garbage systems. I'm sure a generic reply will be responsed to this about their "ticket system".

I like your game, hadnt played in 3 years, so i decided to jump on Old School Runescape, logged in started woodcutting, Connection Lost attempting to reestablished, tryed to lag back in and my accounts disabled. Dont waste your time unless you like supporting a money hungry business

Company was started by a young man named Andrew Gower and his brother in their garage on an old windows 98' desktop computer using basic java and graphical editing. In 2001, Andrew and his small team (mostly family members) released their infamous game "Runescape" to the public. It was an instant hit in the UK and became one in the United States and Australia the following year. Then, in 2004, Andrew completely re-wrote the game from the ground up, labeling it RuneScape 2, "or rs2" and then sold the company Jagex along with it's game RuneScape and it's less popular gaming website "Funorb" to a corporate bigot named Mark Gerhard. The direction of the company changed over the next 10 years and tens of thousands of that game's player's were subjected to Mark's greed and bigoted, egotist self and the decisions he made like price increases, micro-transatctions, 100% permanent banishment of player accounts instead of account roll-backs and bank cleans. Basically, Mark too an amazing game and made it into a cheaper corporate version of World of Warcraft. Not only did he ruin the lives of hundreds of players by deciding to start doing permanent account bans for various offenses in the game, but he also failed to warn/post a warning on the website to the customers/players of the game about the dangers of addiction to the game. Reports have shown than young teens and young adults can actually become mentally addicted to Jagex's game "RuneScape". Reports of mild withdraw symptoms in teens have been reported after being banned from the game or losing the ability to play the game through other reasons. This would be like a doctor prescribing a patient a low dose schedule 3-4 narcotic for years and then one day simply cutting them off cold turkey because they were a few short in a pill count by the pharmacist. Mark Gerhard was actually pressured to resign due to his overly aggressive and enthusiastic changes to the game over the years and his decision to permanently banish tens of thousands of players for minor offenses that could have been dealt with by simple account roll-backs and bank wipes, especially players who had been with the game for over a decade with thousands of dollars and hundreds upon hundreds of hours invested into the game. Reports of self mutilation, severe aggression, severe aggravation, changes in personality and behavior, commitment to mental institutions and even some unconfirmed reports of suicide were some of the results of Mark's decision to take such drastic measures against these players of the game (though it is notable that the player community of Runescape played a major role in making the decision to permanently ban these players and were a major influence on the decision to finally go through with it - even though most of the community's age range was between the ages of 13 and 17 years old at the time). Now, a man name Rod Cousens is the CEO of Jagex studios and the general feeling is that thing are looking up and almost everyone is glad to have mark gone and Rod in his chair. I still rate this company 1 star due to the actions of Mark Gerhard and the people who suffered and the game/company that suffered because of his rash and generally rushed and ill-conceived decisions. Perhaps my rating will go up over time, only if Rod does a good job in repairing the damage that was done and making Jagex a respectable and admirable company again. He could start by un-banning all of the permanently banned accounts that weren't banned for being associated with gold farming. The "macro minor - macro major - etc. etc." If he were to do that, it would be a major first step in rebuilding Jagex's reputation and repairing the player base and daily player count of RuneScape, Jagex's main game and main source of income and notoriety.
