Jagex has absolutely, I'd say intentionally, given the bare minimum when it comes to customer support. No phone, god willing I might actually be able to talk to someone about my issues. I tried logging on today and my account was disabled for the offence "Bot Busting Moderate" for 2 days. Jagex actually does NOT allow appeals and they provide ZERO evidence with "bot busting" offences, so basically "aw too bad tough luck, we don't care". I'm all for banning players that disregard the rules of the game, but I have never botted on my account and I believe I was falsely banned. (Not trying to make this sound like an appeal itself either, I'm just frustrated)

Guess what though, I can't do a THING! They "busted" me botting and no matter what I say or do there's no way to repeal that. I can't even TRY to submit an appeal. Nada. I've been a paying player of RuneScape for a long time, this is the first time something like this has happened to me, and unfortunately this is enough to set me over the edge. Yeah, the ban was two days, I think the offense will expire in a year, but I was accused and banned for something I did not do.

I'm not even sure if I should play on my character again? What if I get banned again? The next offense is permanent, and now I would have REALLY gotten screwed. I don't want to lose my account forever

To conclude my long, passive-aggressive review, I wish I had advice to give to other players who read this but I really don't, just be careful I guess. Reading other reviews, seems to me like Jagex doesn't mind banning legitimate, paying players as long as they're "busting bots"...

I ve been playing osrs for over 10 years, have enjoyed it and spent hundreds of days on the game.
Like alot of you I have been banned multiple times as a youngster because I BOTTED if you set authenticator or a good password which you never share you would not be complaining about their poor customer service.

Shocking customer services money greedy and there scripts prone for hackers and any desk scripts with there orical updates caught all proof on pictures withing 1 hour of fight pits list server connection aswell as a file corruption after updating java oracle 8.2 still no contact all credit cards have been cancelled as I've found half of runescape details on a site that shouldn't be there but even after providing evidence my account has still not been reimbursed and one year of time spent wasted,

Terrible support team no way to speak with any support team member via (email,phone,support page,Twitter, ect.) Be warned they are only looking to steal your money. By locking your account and granting no way of accessing it ever again because a actual support team is non-existent. Had to call my bank to stop payments. Worst ever. proceed with extreme caution.

I have been a customer of theirs for almost 10 years. I started playing runescape back in 2004 and have loved the game. I maxed a lot of skills out and worked extremely hard to achieve my levels and wealth. I received a ban almost 2 years ago for major macroing. I have never cheated in my life and put soo much hard work into my character to do anything to jeopardize that. Well good luck trying to contact them to resolve any issues. They are nearly impossible to get ahold of and basically said well if we say you cheated, you cheated. We will basically ignore you flat out. What kind of business runs like that honestly? If they were a U.S. based company. They wouldn't be able to treat customers like that and get away with it. Edit to add to my post. I have yet to be contacted or offered assistance in any sort of way.
****Update****
I received a response from Jagex 3 years later to an appeal that I put in on my ban. I know I didn't cheat due to the fact that I have always used their direct client back when I played and my computer has never downloaded third party software for that game in anyway. Why jeapordize 10 years of hard work? They refused to reinstate my account and still stand by the ban as saying all bans are final. It's literally an uphill battle and I believe truly I will never win and the best bet is to just walk away at this point... I am tired.

There is absolitely no customer support what so ever!! I just spent an hour searching all over to find a way to email jagex. Found nothing, runescape can be fun. They do need to make some minor adjustments . But they make it impossible to contact them . Just poor management . Honestly im pretty mad they have such bad customer service..

Absolutely terrible decisions coming from this company. Shutting down runelite but continuing to make money off of osbuddy is shameful. Ive been playing this game for more than 10 years and ive seen it all from this company. No customer service but then they have the nerve to raise the membership to 11$ for a game from 2007! Who makes these decisions? Abosultely terrible, learn something from some of the other huge MMORPGS and you might actually regain your former glory back when runescape had over 200,000 active players at one time. Very sad indeed Jagex, very sad indeed.

PLEASE FIX THE MAC CLIENT SO THAT IT RUNS ON HIGH SIERRA. IT IS SO RIDICULOUS THAT THE GAME HAS BEEN DOWN FOR 2 DAYS FOR MAC USERS USING HIGH SIERRA. What is the point of paying $11/month for a game that doesn't run? Updates should not make the game worse/unplayable, updates should make things better.

Complete joke, blocked my account for macroing that I never even done. I've had the account 10 years. Customer service is non existent. I cant appeal, my account wasn't hacked either. They took my membership payment off me the same day aswel. If someone looked into my account they'd see there was nothing wrong done. Worst customer support I have dealt with. When cancelling subscription it's almost impossible to find and then when you find it you have to go through numerous amounts of prompts in order for it to work. After you cancel your subscription they also bill you for the following month. When you try to get a refund it's impossible. This is a good/simple game, but the customer support is one of the worst in the gaming industry.

I remember when I first played it was great hey i even looked forward to playing RuneScape again and again but now I can't the customer Support sucks (honestly) they only care about money now and not the players the forums have power hungry mods who mute you and remove posts for saying something like there "Rants" page you can not even properly Rant

Hello!

Let's start this off with, I LOVE RUNESCAPE! from about 2005-EoC Runescape was my life.

I was banned a few times due to some known offenses, botting... But that was my fault! And i 100% understand that. However... When your account is hijacked while you are currently on a hiatus, or you cause yourself to be banned WITHOUT knowing what you did wrong, it's kinda silly to apply a permanent ban without the ability to appeal. My current account has committed no wrongs, but if i am standing next to a tree not talking, i get reported for botting, if i report to many people for something, i get banned, if i move like a robot for 6 hours in a row, the system reports me for botting....

Their anti bot system blows, and people need to understand that after having been hacked and losing everything, you don't really want to trust people. Which is why i don't talk in-game... Which is apparently a crime.

Great game, well, before EoC, it looks great now atleast. Hopefully jagex can up their player numbers... 54 players on world 43 i believe it was, 54 players in an entire world. That's just sad. I remember when you guys always had 1200+ per world.

so, i've been trying to get in contact with these guys for a solid 6 months regarding an issue, as stated in their own game rules and manual i am within my rights that are assigned by them, they have not responded to a thing i have sent them even though i need help, anyone at jhq reading this, please get back to me. or email me, just something to let me know that you guys care about your player base.

Love their game Block n' Load, but after 4 emails about an issue with the Character Yury the Yeti with his snowball throw animation being messed up, they have done nothing to sort it. Even if there is nothing they could do, would be nice to have a reply. Yury is my favourite character and i can not play him. Why make a good game and then ignore the player completely?! Thanks for nothing.

Jagex is the worse. Their security is crap! I stopped playing for that reason then decided why not? I get started playing and even buying a membership. I haven't touched the game in several days and when I return to it, they say that I have been banned permanently for macroing. I am infuriated because I decided to spend some time on ESO and now I can't even play what I PAID for! It is outrageous and Jagex needs to seriously update their security.

Little brother guessed my password when i was away at work, botted on my account and got my only account that i ever played on banned. Applied for a ban appeal and they wont even unban me even tho it wasnt me who botted.. never had any offence and i get permabanned

Ignore all the bad reviews, they oviously don't look on website or play RS often.. there is community tab to vote on updates, they invite members of community to help on products and are just great all round :) if this isnt involvement then what is! Great company and been a pleasure playing RS for nearly 10 Years! Keep up the good work!! :D

Banned for botting, bought members last night at 9pm played members world for about 2 hours if that just stood at GE, Banned after I logged off. Thank you for taking my $10 and letting me play for 2 hours then banning my account. As the look of the reviews you guys look terrible. Good job!

Absolutely disturbing practices from this once rev...

Absolutely disturbing practices from this once revered game developer.

Community is pressed through a financial mesh screen to play their games with absurdly high subscription costs to games that are filled with real-money gambling and microtransactions.

Extremely out of touch with the community at large, this company is being drained of every last cent by current ownership and will likely dissolve within the next 3-5 years.

Account Was Hacked, And I Recovered It, Whoever Hacked The Account Got It A Perm Account Hijacking Ban (quashed). Thought i removed the keylogger but it was still on my computer, got hacked again and they added the ban from the same date Rsn:bowlofruit Support ? Ridiculous Checking Everyday if they will unban my account. All bans given are correct, however in my circumstances they wouldn't have rectified it the 1st time if they didnt make a mistake. They dont check for i.p. they dont check trade logs. if someone legit checked the ip on the date of the offense they would see there was other people other than the owner on the account. if you get falsely banned they pretty much give zero craps about your acocunt. There Support is basically this, Hey Were a 300 million dollar company, and we cant invest in an online chat support because were stingy as hell. They wont reply to this because support is useless.

i made an account 10+ years ago and cant remember the password and your customer support is useless... you say you have got one but when i try to recover my account through your customer support service it then asks me my last password i remember as one of the recovery questions and also when i made the account. A. i dont remember my passwords which is why im trying to recover the account and B. i made the account so long ago (over ten years ago) so how on earth am i meant to fill in these details for recovery? your account recovery is not good in any way

i have sent you countless emails and youve not responded. please respond to me? no wonder you get so many bad reviews. im not stupid by the way im now a 27 year old man and i know you should have a better service than this

They have zero customer support and no way of actually getting in touch with them I paid $200+ for membership over the years on runescape just for them to ban my account for "botting" when I've never ran a botting program, therefore I am out $200+ and 100's of hours of gameplay because I have no way of contacting them, do not waste your money on anything of theirs, it's been 3 years since they've banned my account for no reason and they haven't done a thing about it, I would love to talk to an actual person from Jagex about this but they have NO WAY OF CONTACTING THEM, they take people's money and leave them without a way to even get in touch with them, no email or phone number and they NEVER reply to ban appeals

So many flaws for so many great games. This support is unheard of, support page is the most useless Website I've ever seen.
Jagex as a whole is a company unfortunately has gone from being one of the best gaming companies in the world to one of the worst.
For jackets to improve from where they are now the really need to rest in customer support investing listening to the player and just invest in the player.
The only way to reach jagex currently is through their Twitter which is automated, or reddit the only way on reddit to get peoples pitch forks out.
Unfortunately, as a game through skip is one of the best all time known RPGS.
It is a shame to see jagex waste such potential on profits.
For them to improve support needs to be made like I the Amazon or blizzard.
To see such a great game, go to waste is a shame, unfortunately so many people complain about the support and get unheard, jagex need to start listening or they re going to lose your player base.

After years of playing on and off I went to access the account I've had since I was a young teen to find out I had a macro ban during a time period I didnt even play ( havent played for two years) and there Is no way to contact customer support. Cant believe I wasted money on this game for that treatment.

I've been trying to recover my account, omaremir. However, you keep denying me despite the fact that you accepted me request before, after I took a hiatus for college. Now it seems you won't accept any of the information I've provided, which matches what I've always used in the past, ever since I've created the account. What is crazy is that it appears that you take subscription information as more valuable data to determine original creator of account rather than the original security answers, pins, and the oldest passwords I can remember using. I'd really like you to simply take a look into my account and request. I'd make it a member again, primarily because I use to do lots of quests and slayer tasks but now I can't even access my account because you say I'm not the original owner. Also, for some reason, I can't even find my account on the high scores using the name that it appears it has been changed to, sam 10, which was changed from NOR King, which was changed, I'd assume, from when I first created the account, omaremir.

Fantastic company, ignore the haters with their "I got banned for botting and didn't bot".

9/10 are false, just cry babies wanting their "hard earned" botted accounts back, pathetic.

Jagex is good just has a lot of MXT but if you don't get sucked in, you're fine, but in moderate levels if you're going to buy it.

Don't be like people I know who just buy lamps to get max, play the game and level up, it's more fun.

It's not about completing today, it's about the adventure to completion :)
