Great rates. I'm saving money comparing to my previous supplier! easy switching process, with regular updates via email! Lots of informative articles! Very straightforward. If you are thinking of switching I would recommend!

Appalling customer service.

Appalling customer service.
When we joined GNE they used incorrect meter readings.This meant we paid for fuel we didn't use with GNE and were unable to receive a refund due from our old supplier.
Now we have left them,they have once again used an incorrect meter reading for the final bill.
This means we have paid them for fuel we have not even used yet.
We have twice been billed for fuel used from two suppliers because of GNE's incompetence.
They consistently fail to address problems they create.
Glad we are leaving them and will never use them again.
Our new supplier has issued our bill using the correct meter reading.
My negative review is concerning not the meter reading,but your lack of response when issues are raised,not just once,but many times.

Might be some confusion on this supplier. The initial payments are low at first. This maybe a mistake on there part on estimation of usage or the customer or to tease you to join them initially. If you are using more than they projected they will increase your direct debit in regards to usage months in but say you will be notified 10days prior. Or charge you for it in a large sum at a later date it looks with some folk. They emailed myself and said you still have a competitive rate for services and you will be charged for what you use so bad calculation maybe to blame. And in these tough times nobody wants a large bill out the blue to deal with so? Changed to a 3star review from a 1star.. For now. See what happens at the end of my tariff.

Wow what a shower. My mother was a customer. Sadly she died and we closed the account. They sent us a cheque for what was due. ? the end.
They now keep sending estimated bills to the occupier. The property is up for sale and empty. They won't talk about the account as they need permission from 'the occupier'. Asked to speak to a supervisor in England, as all calls are somewhere in the world. We have no people in UK is what I was told. What sort of outfit is this??? Acc GNE200823346. Tried 'care' at GNE somewhere in the world, absolutely pointless. When you have located account please advise remedial action you will take

Recently left this supplier at the end of my contract, such is life. Had no problems whatsoever during supply over 18 months. Everything worked fine, bills as expected, no problems. They did make the switch to my new supplier easy so no complaints there. The only small problems I have relates to the final bill and how this is handled.



Secondly, not their fault but my bank was in the process of altering how online payments are handled this week for new accounts that you setup and I couldn't pay online at this point so I decided to do as my threatening letter suggested and simply telephone in. I was on hold for a short time and spoke to a very polite chap who was fine, explained his terminal was "locked for payments" at the moment, couldn't transfer me to a colleague but was ever so helpful in taking down my number and promising to call me back to process the payment.

Do you think I have received the call as of 16.25hrs on 25/09/19, just over 7 hours till my pay by date?

Have since managed to pay online but one star chalked off for chasing before due with threats of additional costs and one star chalked off for your staff members not doing as they promise.

Like many others, my direct debit was quadrupled with no warning. The company failed to notify me that my direct debit amount (set by them) was totally insufficient and instead allowed a massive under payment to build up on my account. I am now in debt. I have complained but nobody has bothered to respond. Terrible company. I will be leaving this supplier as soon as the debt is settled and returning to a big 6 provider.

I ve never had an issue with green network energy....

I ve never had an issue with green network energy. If I am ever over using and owe money I simply make a one off payment to cover it. I give regular meter readings which is simple to do and I find ending and joining them easy. I ve never had to contact customer services so I cannot comment on this element.

Changing over was smooth, but there are annoying problems with the customer-facing tech.

The Android phone app doesn't stay logged in, or use biometric ID so you have to enter the password every time you need it.

I wasn't able to enter my gas reading on the app and had to go to the web site to submit it. Despite that, I had a phone call three days later asking for my readings again.

Beware! This company will try to defraud you. Two tricks they tried on me : 1. Doubled my repayments and ended up with hundreds of pounds of credit; 2. applied an early repayment fee even though my contract period was over. I m sure they make thousands every year ripping off vulnerable people, very sad such businesses are able to keep operating in the UK.

The worst customer service on the market!!!
For 3 months, multiple calls and emails, talking to a number of different people in Green Network Energy, nobody were able to activate my account and to provide me with the data that I need in order to log in into their system. In addition, after one of the payments that I made, I received a notice about balance overdue /which I paid already/ + penalty fee on top of it. After trying to contact the GNE team and to resolve the issue, within the 15-20th minute of the pointless conversation the lady simply ended the call without saying anything and no-one called back.

They're OK. After three months, they haven't put a foot wrong ... yet. I moved from another supplier who were trying to be s cool that their customer communications were full of grammatical mistakes and company jargon. They had no idea about how to use language so that even those with English as a first language could understand.

Well what a surprise when I come to review this company they have such a low score!



We had transferred our own supply over from our previous property & our d/d was all in place & taken care off.

I contacted Green energy advising that the bill wasn't for us, we had just bought the house. Provided all the documentary proof etc.

Heard nothing thereafter & then 2 months later a bill arrives addressed to me for the same amount. They had taken my details & added it to the account!!

Back and forth ensued for months with threats of bailiffs & court action etc unless the bill was paid.

In the end a threat of of approaching the ombudsman unless the issue was resolved immediately did the trick & a customer service managers letter of apology & the amount written off.

At the time of the apology it was asked for all data to be removed from the system as per gdpr as I had no commercial relationship with this company at any stage.



This company are a bunch of crooks!

They are being reported for GDPR compliance & also to the energy ombudsman for harassment.

You have been warned!!

Quite easily the worst energy provider that I have ever used. Like others I was probably brought in by their lower prices and "green" claims but what I wasn't told was that their customer services department is hands down useless. I had an outstanding claim with them that went on for 5 months that in the end I had to go to the financial ombudsman to resolve. If you value customer service, this place is not the provider for you.

Original quoted payments increased over time to cover my "predicted" usage but it's all worked out leaving me in credit in the end. I have decided to switch from them to another supplier (purely based on cost) and accidentally cancelled my direct debit with them before the switch took place. One 3 minute long call and it was all sorted by a really pleasant advisor. Any email inquiries I have made in the past were always dealt with quickly and easily. Great customer Service!

If there was a zero rating I would give it. What a thoroughly disgusting energy company. I have been promised that a bill query for my mum would be sorted since last August 2020 and six months later they still have not investigated or resolved the issue. Now letters from debt agencies have been sent even though I have promised by G E that they would ensure this would not happen. If you are considering this company PLEASE DO NOT- appalling service, ridiculous fluctuating charges and poor customer service. And I've been hung up on twice and not called back! When you phone you go through the relevant push this, push that and then when you think you might be getting somewhere they just hang up.

I really like being with GNE, great customer service, useful uncomplicated app and having been with all the big guys who quote one price to get you signed up then raise your monthly payment after a couple of months GNE have kept to the price and are consistently helpful.

After a nightmare with my final bills and also waiting long time to have a response to any email sent to the helpdesk, I had to complain. Fortunately, the customer service called me instantly in order to resolve my issue. Excellent and professional work. They kept in contact each day explained to me the issues and clarification. Personally very happy and satisfied. Everything has been resolved in a couple of days. Thank you Green Network Energy!

Absolutely terrible customer service - do not recommend! I have had an issue with my meter readings since April and the issue is still not resolved 7 months later. I have been told four times that a senior member of the team will be in touch and I have still not been contacted. I understand that the current climate has slowed down communication, but waiting 7 months (and counting) is unacceptable. This is by far the worst service I have received from an energy provider.

it has been almost a week now waiting for the customer service to phone me back and explain the breakdown for the bills how can i use the same amount as the last 2 years to the dot i know for a fact i have used more electric than gas this years as the half of the nation are in the houses with covid 19 lock-downs the customer service is absolute joke.this is the problem when contact center in international country's and the customer service don't have a clue what the user are saying

Terrible customer service. The only measures worth judging an energy supplier on are price and customer experience.

The latter reflects their real brand whatever the website says.

GNE's customer service is awful. Since opting to leave them they hit me with a massive final bill, never having reached out to me to suggest I needed to make higher payments during the contract. I challenged it and it was reduced significantly but was still far higher than expected.





I would be very wary of a supplier who promises so much, doesn't manage your account properly while you are with them and then becomes aggressive when you want to leave.

11/11/2020 - RESPONDING TO THE VENDOR BELOW: They actually revised the submitted reading to a new reading of their own without consultation, so this is not the whole truth.

I am attaching a picture of the huge spike in usage they piled onto my account without explanation. There are now two complaints open with them and I have raised this with the Ombudsman. This spike represented an entire years worth of electricity above my previous norms.

If they do something like this to you, don't expect support or explanation just constant harassment followed by threatening letters.

Terrible company, unable to log in constantly, then the one time I was able to, the meter readings weren't accepted even though I tried to submit them countless times before giving up. They didn't reply to my enquiries when I asked about this. They DO NOT answer the phones either, left on hold, high volume of calls bla bla bla...usual rubbish.
Then they put up the direct debut without notification. I'm guessing it's because I was unable to submit the meter readings, pretty convenient that they make it impossible to get into your account or submit readings, then penalise you for not following their rules. Locked out of the account again, had to re-register....again! Then no verification email sent to get into the account...again!!
They are cheap for a reason but in the end you pay more than ever!! Terrible service, terrible company!! It's going to be a nightmare trying to get a refund if we do happen to be in credit as they've been ripping us off with a high direct debit. The 'deal' has now ended but it's going to be difficult to get another supplier without being able to submit a meter reading to end our account with them.
Getting a decent energy supplier who doesn't just rip you off is a nightmare and I can understand why people don't bother. The energy ombudsman is like a chocolate teapot so these 'deals' aren't worth it when they just put up your direct debit whenever they like, even when you are in credit! What's the point? This happens again and again. Tied into a contract that they break when it suits them bit penalise you when you try to leave.

Stay away from these Scam artists.
Moved into a property and joined a new energy provider.

Can t seem to get them to understand this is impossible and have to pay the price, the system is flawed and I m so glad they are able to take advantage.
Absolute disgrace and I will never recommend them to anyone and will let everyone I ever meet to avoid them like the Plague.

The customer service isn t helpful at all, and this also applies to their complaints team.
I would avoid at all costs.

Horrendous company avoid at all costs even if the price seems good!! Dishonest about their pricing, ignore official complaints and continue to bombard you with bailiffs letters whilst they investigate their own errors. I have lost time, money and health because of their cowboy business practices, outright lying and awful customer service. And frustratingly I was never a customers of theirs by choice. I inherited them from the previous owner of my house. And have endured a year of stress for the 20 days that they provided my energy. Read all the reviews below they are all consistent with my own miserable experience.

Brilliant company. Not only is it nice to know your energy is being sustainably sourced where possible, but their customer service assistants are all extremely helpful. Never had an issue with them and where technical issues have arrisen they have always been upfront and honest about it and compensated me. Highly recommend for any new home owners looking for a no fuss no faff energy provider.

We switched with Green network energy in November 2018 and for now we are very happy, we pay less than with our previous supplier and both the treatment and the service received are with difference better. In addition we already benefit from the referral program. We will renew our contract with this company

I've just signed up for another year with Green Network Energy, I find them really easy to deal with and their charges are within my budget, I've never had any issues with them over the last year,and I can always get through to them on the phone if need be,their online customer portal is easy to navigate too....So.... I'm extremely happy to stay with them.I would recommended them to family and friends....but you can only make up your own mind on which energy provider is suitable for you!!!

I only called their helping once and the person on the other side was very helpful. Generally, very happy with it and not planning to change to any other provider any time soon

Customer service say they will get back to you the same day, they dont.

5 months to resolve an incorrect bill.

Think everything is sorted, now I have an email saying sorry to see you are switching we've confirmed this . News to me! Now another lengthy process to get my gas back apparently.



When this is all sorted I am 100% switching and i will refuse to pay the exit fees. I will be exiting due to terrible service which i dont believe i should pay for!

Save yourself any hassle and avoid this company at all costs.

Best Energy company I have been with. I have been with all the big 6 and some of the smaller suppliers. Green Network have been by far the best I have experienced so far, excellent customer service and app is so easy to use.

Honestly guys just don t bother with them. Switched to them with MSE. Heard nothing in 2 weeks so I called them. Explained boa account yet what is going on. Told I don t have account so can t help you. Pushed them and said I am trying to sign up who deals with account switches, put me through to them. Same person came back and said the manager can t help as you have failed data protection. I said you haven t asked me any questions how can I fail? she said she can t ask questions as I don t have account... it was laughable by the end so I will take my custom elsewhere
