Shastina Golf Inn Review

I enjoyed a wonderful day on the links.
Pro Shop, Club House, and friendly staff.

We are not golfers and we loved it here! The views of Mount Shasta from our unit were STUNNING. Our unit had a fully equipped kitchen with a full size fridge, dishwasher, stove top, dishware, pots and pans, utensils, etc.

If you need to arrive after their office closes, just let them know-- they've got a procedure in place for that. We arrived around 10pm and found out that registration was closed! Luckily, they had prepared for noobs like us, so there was no problem.

We would love to go back. Highly recommended.

Attended an event at the resort. Nice event/conference room. Had a good dinner they served a delicious salmon. My only complaint was with the drink I ordered. Had a Cadillac margarita, the drink itself wasn't bad but the salt on the glass had a putrid smell. Otherwise great service and a nice atmosphere.

Had some great food at the restaurant here. There pizza was really good.

I am very disappointed in the staff and the fact that they refused to take a lunch order 15 minutes to 11 which I was told is when lunch started there I called for a Togo order for a breakfast and wanted to get a turkey sandwich but the lady that took my order refused to take my order because I had added a lunch item also I xallca tonight 7/31/18 and asked for 6 tacos for their taco Tuesday and they told me I could not order tacos to go but it was not a problem a week ago when I got the same thing I live here in shastina and feel like I will have to just give my business to weed unless you can bring back the taco Tuesday orders to go and talk to staffing about treating customers do rude over the phone

The salad I had, service and view where seated made for a very pleasant meal.

2nd time I've played this course in a month. 1 1/2 drive from Redding was worth it .
Just love it , great layout , incredible scenery, nice pace of play.
Staff friendly and inviting , restaurant has pretty great food also.

A hidden gem with beautiful views, wildlife, friendly staff, restaurant w/bar, affordable condos on-site + 27 holes for golf! We come back every year!

Had a terrific time playing some golf today.
After that, we headed to the clubhouse for some much needed lunch....
The gentleman that was our waiter was absolutely fantastic!!!
His attitude was very friendly, along with his patience.
His knowledge of the menu, and surrounding history was fun.
Our drinks arrived on time, as did the food.
We ordered hamburgers, sandwiches and philly cheese steak. All were above average.
Oh, the onion rings were out of this world!
We are already looking forward to our return...

The cops around here are over the top. They need more to do. I ran out of gas and a Lake Shastina PD Officer Yates approached me on the side of the road. He asked for my ID and never even offered to call a tow truck or offer any assistance of any kind. I feel like he was just trying to catch me doing something wrong instead of trying to help a law abiding citizen.

Great golf setting. 2 courses. The championship course is the Queen of upper NorCal golf courses

A great place to go for the weekend the rooms are big or Cottages I guess you could say the golf course was excellent and so is the 9-hole Scottish course

The service was absolutely great! We were up for a family reunion and stopped in. Bill Ducchi gave us our first golf lesson. What a beautiful place and people. We will be back!

My son was receiving a golf lesson from Sam and he was far too close to the next child as Sam was clearly not paying attention to safety. I stepped up to scoot my son back and Sam, very rudely, told me I needed to stay back for the full hour. My son is on the autism spectrum, nobody tells me not to speak to him. There were other parents around. I have never been as embarrassed as I was today.

The best public golf course in NorCal, period. Mt. Shasta makes its beautiful snowcapped presence known on most holes. The golf ball flies further in the high desert and your drives will be a lot longer on firm, well manicured fairways and greens. Do yourself a favor if you're passing through Weed, CA at I-5 and Hwy 97 and get onto Lake Shastina GC. The "stay & play unlimited golf" special is an AMAZING bargain since you get to stay on the golf course in recently remodeled condominiums and play unlimited golf w/ cart for free!

Out of the way Golf resort that is structure in the Lake Shastina community where you cane see the Lake Shastina. Golf Cart friendly, great maintenance on golf coarse.

Very clean Hospitality was excellent and pizza was amazing

If you like Robert Trent Jones golf, you should definitely put this one on your list to play.Hard pars, easy bogies as they say.The views of Mt. Shasta are spectacular!The staff was very friendly and helpful.The cabins are quite comfy and reasonably priced IMHO.A little rough around the edges, but nice and clean.
Very quiet. Golf is reasonable at $65.00 with cart, $50.00 with cart twighlight rate.The pizza at the restaurant was surprisingly delicious.

Four stars because the buildings were tired looking and in need of sprucing up. Had a golf lesson with Will and was so impressed. I've taken lessons over the years from four different pros - some better than others. Will has a way of explaining the golf swing I really connected with. He gave me some drills which would help instill the swing dynamics and made so much sense. My goal is to improve the consistency of my golf over the winter rather than allow my accomplishments so far to wither away. Working with Will over the next several weeks, I'm certain that goal will be easily accomplished.

This course is in my top 5 for norcal and southern oregon. In great shape and playable year round.

Very Nice Golf Experience!
Course was in fantastic condition. Fairways and second cut were nicely groomed. Greens were in GREAT shape. A surprise gem in Northern California!

Never play golf here but lived in a house in the area for several years. Nice high desert location, but be aware that it can get windy here.

The course is beautiful, with spectacular views of the mountain.

FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING!
ENJOYED A GLASS OF GLENLIVET 12yr ON THE PATIO.

Great Golf Course I have been playing there since I was a kid just awesome and it has a nice lounge with full bar and great food

Lake Shastina golf course provides a challenging 18 holes with beautiful scenery.

21 May 2017 Pro Shop was very helpful. Course was outstanding, can't wait for the next outing . Now the bad, I WILL NOT go back in the Restaurant, one hour before Tee Time ordered Eggs Benedict and Ham and Cheese Omelet. Had to change order to go after waiting 50 minutes. After teeing off on 1st hole (10th) found out the Omelet was very runny and NO ham and the Toast was burnt past being edible. Eggs Benedict egg was very over cooked and had only a drop of sauce. In the to go bag was 1 fork, 3 knives. Had to share fork.. The waitress seemed lost and overwhelmed. Would have been better off spending that $20 at McDonalds. If we wouldn't have used the restaurant I would have given 5 Stars.

We play the "Scotty" course. Really fun, and challenging little 9 hole course.

I enjoyed a, one on one golf lesson at Lake Shastina Golf course with Will. He identified a few swing shortcomings pretty quickly. Had me tuned up in no time. My Compliments to Will, the golf shop Pro. Following the lesson, the golf course played beautifully and it's condition was mint.

Great place to challenge yourself on the greens never know what they are gonna do.

Great course. Very well maintained with nice greens. A little long on some holes, but very fair course design.

You just have to go. Great course and very well run. Receives good shots well, tight front and an open back nine!!!

Stayed 5 days was fantastic. Kitchen has everything .

The course designed ny Trent Jones is user friendly with room if you are not the straightest hitter of the ball. Open year round though there might be a day or two that it is closed due to snow. Golfers living on the course are friendly and understanding if you are a 20+ handicap. The Putters Grill is small but has a decent size menu. And the view of nearby 14,000+ ft Mt Shasta is exquisite, to say the least.

Great place to enjoy lunch even if you're not golfing.

We play this course every year during a boys weekend. Most recently, Sept. 14th. The course itself never disappoints. Great shape, great pace of play. But, they must address 2 things: The cart seats were ripped and uncomfortable. Secondly, self serving hot dog cart is a terrible idea. The buns were stale, the hot dogs were sweaty and condiments were messy.
