Continued from previous posting.....No apologies for the headache or poor customer service I received. So before I went to pick up my car, I asked Shawn if I could be refunded for the maintenance package I paid for through my loan with BMW that I hadn't used yet, and I was denied. What would make you believe I'd want to take my car back there for service?!
I walked in to pick up the check, and Shawn had absolutely no words to say to me. I looked at him, grabbed the check, and walked away. Got my car checked to make sure the subscription was set up, and left.
I also almost forgot to mention that they tried to charge me for the service to install the Sirius radio in the amount of $586! And when I picked up my car, I noticed they didn't bother washing it as a courtesy that they said they offered. Not to mention, they left a used dirty face mask in my back seat! Disgusting!

I have complete confidence in Beaver and the folks at BMW of Sterling. Anytime I bring my car in for service, I know he's there's to help me with whatever I need done for my car. He's trustworthy, cares about the relationships he's formed and is super conscientious about my time. He'll give me his honest opinion of what service is needed and without hesitation, will put me in a loaner if the service will take a while. He is, by far, the best advisor I have worked with at any dealership.

Had to take my car in for a recall and had an overwhelmingly positive experience. Elijah communicated with me throughout the whole process so I felt my car was in very good hands and I was never being taken advantage of like at some other dealerships. Will definitely be back!

Leased a Bmw X3 from Neils Riberio, he was so helpful, professional, & honest. Not your typical pushy salesman. Definitely suggest that you see him if interested in a bmw. He even took the time to follow up with me a couple of weeks later to see how I liked the car.

My experience with BMW of Sterling has been fantastic! Timothy Woods provided awesome customer service on my lease and the car service department is excellent. Each service visit has been seamless, the facilities are clean and the waiting lounge is super comfortable and equipped with a strong WiFi signal. I have two BMWs, and they are serviced exclusively at the dealership; the service has always been fast, efficient, and trouble-free. On my last visit, Eli Beavers was the service rep who coordinated the work, and he did a superb job. I'm actually looking forward to my next service visit.

By far one of the best car buying experiences I have had. Kamal was wonderful to work with - honest and helpful. I drove to BMW of Sterling from Virginia Beach with my two youngest children and Kamal ensured the process was as quick and smooth as possible so we could get back on the road. He even called that evening to make sure we made it home safely. Highly recommend BMW of Sterling and Kamal.

Went there to get some parts for my car and there was noone at the parts counter. Ithas a bell for when noone is at the counter and trust me you can ring that bell noone come. Went to one of the employees and he told me only one person working. After a good 27 by my watch someone came that was not the parts counter but was helpful enough. If this wasn't the only BMW dealer in this county I wouldn't come here nor even to drink water. When ever yoy have to buy parts better go with time cause they are really slow and is not the first time this happens.

This is the worse BMW dealership for customer service I have ever dealt with and I have owned a BMW for more than a decade. They are full of excuses, the rep didn't return phone calls, alledged I wasn't covered by an extended warranty - I had to get the customer "advocate" involved to resolve that issue. Then there were additional repairs that were needed and the rep claimed I didn't call him back to authorize the additional repairs (I was nearly admonished for not using the right numbers to contact him) - after nearly 3 hours of nothingness. He did call back to say, oh yeah I did get your voicemail.

I have had similar experiences in the past with this same dealership, but was assured they were under "new management". I will NOT be returning and if you are in need of efficient service I would not recommend you go to Sterling. I am taking my business to Alexandria!

Eric was awesome! This was the best car service e...

Eric was awesome! This was the best car service experience ever. When I was describing the problem that I wanted to get fixed, Eric even went and got the head technician to make sure he was understanding the problem correctly. The BMW technician listened to the problem description and not only understood exactly what I was experiencing but even almost diagnosed the issue. Given that I had tried to get the same problem fixed several times before, I was really impressed and and thankful that Eric took the effort to really understand the problem and involved the right people at the right time.

There were other such examples throughout this service experience that reinforced my impression of Eric. He is polite, extremely customer oriented and takes pride in his work. I will certainly ask for Eric next time I need my car serviced.

I recently purchased an X3 M40i from Mac Safi and cannot say enough good things about my experience. I initially looked at X3s at a different BMW dealership, but was disappointed at the selection. They weren't interested in finding me a match so I reached out to Sterling. I immediately heard back from Mac who asked me to describe exactly what I wanted in the car. He searched for several hours but was unable to find an exact match. Instead of trying to push me to "settle" for a car like the last BMW dealership, he suggested I place an order. He answered all my questions about options and was quick to send me details on the loan. Even after I ordered the car I would email him questions about the delivery details, financials, and even about protective coatings, and he would always answer my questions within a few hours of asking. When it was time to pick up the car, he took the time to discuss the technology in the car, and showed both myself and my husband how to program our individual settings. Two weeks later I LOVE LOVE the car, and am still impressed with Sterling and the incredible customer service I received from Mac-- keep it up!

Our son was returning to Norfolk VA when he hit a pothole and cracked the rim on our car. BMW of Sterling was the nearest dealership and although it was late in the day the staff accommodated him and repaired the vehicle by the following day. Great service!

No problem with the sales and finance departments, but I definitely recommend going elsewhere for service. Service managers are all smiles but they just can't seem to get the job done correctly. Multiple visits are always needed, poor communication, and the techs don't respect your vehicle as evidenced by dashcam footage.

What do they do when you bring up these concerns? They just have the tech turn off the dashcam of course.

Within the first 30 minutes he called me and let me know there was more work to be done before than just my regular maintenance. Just wanted to give a special shout out to Theo Patterson. He exceeded my expectations, not only did he help find my moms retirement car which will probably be her last car, he had one of the best patience in the world. Theo always had a positive attitude even when we didn t. He worked with us for two days going from car to car. Also got a great deal. He s definitely the best and I hope to work with Him soon!!

I was looking for a Z06 Corvette On Facebook marketplace and found a white beautiful one and I sent a message to the place and got a response back right away from Jose zapata sales person.. we talked for awhile about car and he sent me all the info I wanted Carfax and build sheet.. then we discussed the price and he put me in touch with the finance manager greg maxumuti .. He called me I told him what I was looking to do he took all my info And before the end of the day he called me and said come pick up the car the next day .. when I got there the place was absolutely amazing the people were amazing the service was amazing the best experience I have ever had on buying a car.. I would definitely recommend this place and I would definitely buy my next car here..

If there is a service advisor award I would recommend Josh and if I could give higher than 10, he would get that as well. This is by no means an over-exaggeration. Josh took a hard problem that took numerous visits to solve and patiently kept looking for the cause. I have complete confidence in BMW of Sterling and BMW in general and you can definitely attribute that to Josh! Two of the service managers personally looked into this problem over a weekend. Sounds like good service accross the organization.

I'm not comfortable that the work on my car is being done properly unless it's done at BMW of Sterling. I've had several cars over the last 3 years and I've been to many tire shops, garages, dealers and nothing compares to the service and quality of workmanship these guys and gals provide.

I regularly deal with Bijan Hosseini, and Nate Gibson: Both are knowledgeable, friendly and professional.

If my BMW needs care, it's going here. Period.

I received a recall notice on my X3 in late 2013. ...

I received a recall notice on my X3 in late 2013. The letter explained that the parts would be available in January, and to call to make an appointment for the replacement. The part was not available until February, but can't fault anyone for that. I had to reschedule my appointment once due to the weather. Before my appointment, I received a call from the service department that my annual inspection was due in March, and they would do it while my car was there. I arrived about 10 minutes early for my 9am appointment, and my car was taken in immediately. My service advisor was Bijan Hosseini, who was excellent. He was professional, courteous, and took time to answer my questions and concerns. He told me the repair would take approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours (which was the time advised in the recall letter), and he would keep me updated. They have a very nice customer waiting area, so I sat down with my book and a cup of coffee to wait. In about an hour, Bijan told me they were almost done, and it would take about 15 minutes to do the inspection. Right on time--I was out almost 45 minutes than expected. He apologized profusely that they wouldn't be able to wash my car as the car wash wasn't working (he said mechanical, a sign at the front of the waiting area stated due to the weather). He walked me to my car rather than passing me off to someone else. We leased two vehicles from Sterling within a month, and so far, my experience with the dealership is very positive.

I ve been a BMW driver for about 3 years now and have been to numerous BMW dealerships. In my experience, all BMW dealerships hold themselves to the highest standards, but somehow Sterling has set themselves far apart from their counterparts.

Whether it s walking into service or the showroom everyone recognizes me and remembers my name from previous engagements. It makes me feel very welcome and part of a family of BMW aficionados. Everyone is super friendly and is genuinely interested in what you have to say, whether it s just small talk or business.

I ve been going to Sterling for about 1 year now and I don t think any dealership can compare in quality, customer service, and professionalism.

I would like to specifically mention:

Robert Graves, for his exceptional professionalism, knowledge, and salesmanship to get me into my brand new BMW M4, the ultimate driving machine.

Beaver Ho, for setting THE standard for all service providers with his professionalism and personal interest in ensuring I get the best quality and care.

Short notice service - we have loaners for scheduled appointments only . Scheduled service - we are out of loaners . While other people do get loaners next to me. Estimated 90-min service took three hours while I wait and messes up my schedule for the rest of the day . Liked the video from service guy tho.

Being a 9 year customer of BMW Sterling - I have a...

Being a 9 year customer of BMW Sterling - I have always trusted their diagnosis and resolution of all my BMW 335's needs. On Wednesday I brought my car in for a recall item ( that I had to reach out to them for) that causes the car to catch fire- the fan motor electrical harness. My service rep Carlos had the entire car looked at while I was there and sent me a photo of an oil leak allegedly from the valve pan cover gasket. They quoted me a $2000 repair bill for this item as well! I informed Carlos that I only wanted the recall item dealt with at this time and that I had never noticed oil leaking on my garage floor or odor coming from the car of burning oil. Guess what I experienced when I picked up my vehicle- A STRONG BURNING OIL ODOR with SMOKE as well! So my immediate response to this: 1. Did they intentionally squirt oil on the exhaust manifold to encourage me to do the $2000 repair or 2. Did they damage the car during the recall repair. I will pursue the service manager on Monday and if no satisfaction will complain to BMW NA and the BBB.
I will report back on my experience and adjust my review accordingly.

I have never been disappointed in over 4 years of service visits to Sterling BMW! Today my service rep Matt replaced a brake pad sensor at no charge even though my 335 is newly out of warranty-
As usual, they provided a free loaner car ( a new 328 convertible! today). Phones are always answered promptly- and everyone is friendly;helpful. Their new service center is awesome- I will be back for my next car purchase at BMW or Sterling

I was helped by Driton, I chatted over phone regarding the car I was looking for and he provided me with the details before I made the trip from Rockville. Driton was honest, patient, answered all my questions and gave me enough space/time in order to make the decision (~ 3 hrs from the first call) since I had my homework done prior to the call. I thought the test drive was rather short, could have been little longer. The dealer ship is extremely clean, large and spacious. I highly recommend this place to other fellow marylanders.

Absolutely the worst new car buying experience I have ever had - and I have bought a lot of cars. Be very careful in your negotiations and the numbers. They will nail you to the wall and smile while doing it. Personally I will never set foot in their dealership again. They got me - don't let them get you.

A++ experience both in buying and servicing. To me servicing was very important. I'm glad that I went to BMW of sterling. Each service manager gives personal attention and provides best service. I personally recommend Beaver Ho. He knows BMW cars and he takes time to know the customer. My car needed multiple step process of fixing and Beaver created a nice plan to get it fixed.

I always get the best service for my MINI. There is always the offer of a loaner car when you bring your car in for service. The service advisors are great, calling and keeping you informed on the current status of your car.
I've been to other dealerships and did not get this amount of service. I recommend BMW/MINI of Sterling

Update on 9/19/19. After my initial review, Service advisor Eric reached me out and explained labor cost calculation and offered a refund that was for an additional labor / effort part.
Eric has worked earlier on my car as well and I find him very professional every time.
However I find overall service satisfactory. I just wanted to point out that communication part could have been better for my top dollars.
The estimation/ cost was a data point for me to take right decision

Eh. Went for a simple oil change on my 750xi (covered under service plan.) Took me in promptly and proceeded to tell me that I needed to rotate and balance my tires (which have about 3,500 miles on them) and that I needed an alignment. I had the vehicle aligned when the brand new tires were put on less than a year ago. When I stated this, the service advisor said it was a good "preventative measure." I was also told that I should add the "engine performance service," at an additional cost of $127, because these twin turbo V8's tend to build up a lot of carbon. So BMW's engineers decided to put an engine that "tends to carbon up" and front suspension that might fall out of alignment in under a year in their $117,000 flagship vehicle?! Maybe this is their standard upsell line, but it made me wary of anything else they might suggest. Too bad, because they had really treated me right on my last visit with my other car.

She took the time to understand what we were looking for in terms of our planned usage of the vehicle, our lifestyle and our budget. Great service. Eric Brown always gets me in and out quickly. He remembers me so when I come in for service, he always greets me with a warm smile which is nice these days. He keeps me updated on my car s service and how it is going and when I should get my car back. He saved the day for me this time because inside my car were some important documents I needed and he retrieved them before my car went up on a lift and it wouldn t be possible to get the documents. He had them waiting for me when I came by. GREAT customer service!!!

Robin at bmw is who you need to see for service. Was hesitant to take my car to a dealer as you hear horror stories, but Robin of Sterling BMW proved me wrong. She was professional and to the point. I'm pretty handy with mechanics but now as a busy dad I have no time. I knew what I needed before I came in and Robin confirmed and didnt add any additional services I did not need. SHE did notice that I did not have a safety inspection done and i would have never known as I'm from Miami and just moved here. So she took care of that as well with an oil change.
I prob waited about an hour or so in their awesome lobby and Robin had me out.

The primary reason I'm giving this dealership 5 stars is the fabulous salesperson we were lucky enough to have assigned to us by the internet sales manager. Faris Turkistani gave the best customer service I've ever experienced at a dealership. He was very knowledgeable about my vehicle despite it not being a BMW. He was very personable and not at all pushy or overbearing. When we had a few bumps in the road, Faris bent over backwards to ensure I got what was promised to me and that my issues were promptly addressed (the GSM should take a page from Faris's book on how to deliver superb customer service). Faris even braved 95 South traffic during peak rush hour to personally deliver my vehicle to me and save me the trip from Stafford. BMW of Sterling is lucky to have this young man in their employ and if you're considering shopping for a vehicle there, I strongly recommend asking for Faris Turkistani to assist you. You won't be sorry!

Best part is that Robert stayed in constant communication with me about the progress of the service and the exact time when my vehicle would be ready for pick-up.

Mini Cooper Service Team and Dealership is AWESOME!!! Bought my first mini back in 2014, friendly service department and a pleasure to deal with. Needed a loaner car while service is being done, not a problem (even on a 2 hour notice, they made adjustments to make sure i was taken care of). Car died, dealt with GM at dealership AND corporate, long story short, they had my best interest at heart and worked with me through the entire process. I am a proud owner of a 2017 mini, and i can't imagine dealing with any other dealership or manufacturer! BMW stands by their product! I would recommend to everybody i know!

Two words to describe my 1st experience with Moses Mahdi and BMW of Sterling. PHENOMENAL PROFESSIONAL!!!
From start to finish Moses was very welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. No excuses, only solutions. I got 4 tires, alignment, rear brakes & rotors, and my fan replaced in drivers seat. Everything completed 100% in timely fashion. I trust this dealership with my BMW 650, and I highly recommend them for any service.

I have to say I had dealt with many salesmen while looking for the right car. The moment I spoke with Sal I knew I wanted to buy a car from him. (Even tho we live in Watertown,NY) Sal is professional, courteous and informative. He is on top of his game and most of all he listens to you.

Car was immaculately detailed and waiting our arrival. We were in and out in under 2 hrs. !!

My experience was fantastic! Ralf connected with me last month to begin discussing the transition of my existing lease to a new lease. As a result, I stopped by and met with him and we looked at several cars to consider for my next lease. Since I wanted a specific interior color, Ralf recommended ordering the car with what I actually wanted and that was a first for me...amazing! I loved the driving experience of my 2018 X5 and I am sure that I will love my new 2021 X5. I appreciated Ralf taking the time to sit with me in the car to review all the updated technology and there was alot to learn. I would definitely recommend Ralf to my friends and family

This dealership is total rip off. I visited this dealer a couple of months back while my car was still under manufacture warranty. There was a problem/tension with the pax seat belt and restrain system malfunction was kept on coming up on the iDrive screen. Service advisor Matt J helped me out and get the sensor fixed. Right after 15 days that sign came back however due to my workload constrains I could not visit the dealership for a month or more. Then, a couple off weeks back I received a letter from BMW N.A asking for a recall fix regarding rear bulbs and wanted me to visit the dealership. Service advisor Eric greeted me and who was very welcomed. I explained Eric the entire situation and Eric said I will take care of the problem and just leave the car with him. Three hours later I received a call from Eric say you re out of warranty and we need to run the diagnoses on your car and there will be $160 charge. Also, you re state inspection is expired and would like me to get that done as well . I told Eric, I don t have any problem for inspection but the seat belt issue was previously diagnosed while my car was still under manufacture warranty. He said, I will do what I can to see if there is any minor that we can fix but you need to pay $160 diagnose fee Next day Eric called me said there is $1660 charge for fixing that sensor and how would like to proceed and if you don t fix the sensor we will reject your inspection

It was shocking for me to hear this from him. I have tried to explain it s an exceptional issue, which existed while my car was still under warranty. However, I refused to pay $1660 as I think he trapped me to this mud and at the end rejected my state inspection and placed a rejection sticker on the windshield. At the end, I end up paying $179 just for diagnosis. WHAT A TOTAL RIPP OFFFFF!!!. They misdiagnosed my car previously and didn t fix the problem but put the patches for 15 days.

Me and my other 04 colleagues were coming to this dealership from past 03 years but having this kind of experience we will never visit this deanship again.

This is a review of the service and repairs center at BMW of Sterling. This is my first time taking my car, a Mini Cooper S Hardtop, into the dealer for a scheduled maintenance service. I was able to schedule the appointment online, and request a loaner to use while maintenance was performed. I dropped my car off in the morning, received the loaner with no hassle, and was on my way in a matter of minutes after double checking with the representative, Shawn Peace, about what I would like done. I received a call in the evening that my car was ready, and picked it up in a matter of minutes, all ready to go! The entire experience was completely painless and worked fabulously with my work schedule. Shawn was a joy to work with and was patient, understanding, and went above and beyond his duties as a service rep, even though they handled a large volume of vehicles that day due to state inspections. All my worries were taken care of and they made me feel supremely comfortable about leaving them with my baby!

Kamal is amazing. This is my 2nd BMW purchased with the assistance of Kamal. Without a doubt he was there to answer all my questions, allowed me to test drive different models that I was interested & worked with me to be sure that I found what I really wanted. I took about 2 months plus to make that final decision; Kamal waited and worked with me. He knew that I was very detailed and analyzed everything before I made that final decision. He was always very patient and kind. He always followed up with me. When it came to the delivery, WOW! What a super way to pick up the car. I got my Christmas early and I am so glad. BMW of Sterling is likely the nicest dealer in the DMV area. The service center is run professionally, and the service advisors are great. My service advisor (Eric B.) really puts effort into getting to know his clients, and always make sure that repairs have been completed properly and that you are completely satisfied before driving away. I would highly recommend BMW of Sterling if you are looking to buy a new/used BMW or have maintenance or repairs done.

We worked with Karl Mackey. He was very knowledgable and not pushy. Our daughter told him what she wanted in a car and what was not necessary. She expressed her color preferences both exterior and interior and he took her to row after row of cars and she picked the perfect car for her needs. He let her test drive it several times. We were very pleased that he did not try the hard sell and questions behind her purchase. Her old used 2003 BMW died and she needed a car, period. Karl knew that she was looking at other cars as well but he let the car do the selling for him. We could not have been more pleased with BMW of Sterling. After her purchase Karl spent tons of quality time explaining all the bells and whistles on the car and did not make her feel like he had another customer to rush off to. He explained everything very patiently. Another plus to this dealership is their service department is superb. As I said she was driving a used 2003 that this dealership kept in top running order for 150,000 miles. Mr. Jim Eddy, I believe that he is now the head of service is top notch in handling our service needs. He is the MAIN reason we returned to this dealership for a new car. Both Karl and Jim Eddy have already called to see if there are any questions with her new car.

I was recently a first time customer at the BMW at Sterling, Va. My only compliment for them is that things moved pretty quickly there. I dropped off my car and was out in a rental in under 30 minutes. However, I have two major gripes about the service. Before I mad the appt, I called in advance for an estimate on a service. I was happy w/ the estimate and dropped off the car for service. A few hours later, the service dept admitted to me later on that they miscalculated the estimate by over 40%. That's a pretty gross error, right? I passed on the work. After I picked up my car, new service lights started popping up in my dash as I pulled out of the garage. It would have been nice if they had at least notified me of this? I will not go back to Sterling BMW. They do not care about quality service the same way Fairfax and Alexandria does. Sterling does not even have an eval available to assess your visit. I spoke to a service rep and they said they would " call me back to address my concerns" --- they never called. I'll drive the extra 15 miles and go to Fairfax next time.

Sal was amazing to work with. He listened to my needs and showed me several cars and several options. The best part was he didn't rush me, or try to steer me one way or another. After the sale, he helped me transfer my belongings from my trade in, and introduced me to the service staff who I will be working with in the future. The whole transaction was positive, and I would highly recommend him to my friends.

The dealership is gorgeous and I love the Cafe and Life Style Boutique. The bathrooms are on par with a Four Seasons Hotel complete with closet stall doors. I look forward to going back and "shopping" for a few things for my new X5! :)

Worst experience ever at a BMW dealership. I've been buying and driving BMWs since 1985. Although I coordinated a test drive for a particular vehicle in advance I was told after showing up on site and waiting for an hour that I couldn't test drive the car I I was interested in buying. The GM, Bryan Cuthbert, delivered the message through a very embarrassed sales person and lacked the common courtesy to tell me himself. After that the salesman said the GM would let me drive another lesser car that would give me the "feel" of driving a BMW. I currently own a M5 and a 535i, which I previously disclosed so they know I'm not just looking. If you're interested in a BMW stay away from BMW Sterling.

Bought a certified pre-owned car last summer.
From a buying experience it was top-notch. Sales guy was great, finance director was accommodating and nothing had the feel of your typical pushy car sale.
My issue is mostly my own fault. I looked at the car on a rainy day and couldn t see a lot of scratches and small dents that really come out in the sun light. I asked about it afterwards (if it can be fixed) and they said I was SOL.
The inside cup holders looked like they had some kind of liquid spilled on them and I was told that would be cleaned up. Turns out the plastic was bubbled up and peeling and since they were cleaning the car while I was signing paperwork I m just stuck with it now.
Also, the car was certified preowned but I needed all new tires after 6 months, again my fault for not thoroughly inspecting the car, but I was really convinced that a certified pre-owned luxury vehicle would be in top notch shape.
It s in poor cosmetic condition and I got stuck with it. Lesson learned.
Although the staff was nice I will not buy here again because I do feel like I got duped into beat up car.
Oh well...
