Left me stranded at a mall after accepting my reservation for a specific time. No one arrived on time so I called them 20 minutes after scheduled pickup. They then tried to EXTORT more money from me in order to pick me up. Mind you, no call or anything to tell me no one would be coming, I had to call them to be given the privilege of being extorted, please and thank you. No wonder ride shares are kicking your ass.

Our hotel will never use this service again for any of our guests. Cab driver never showed. Scheduled a pick up for a guests with more then an hour notice. Cab is over 30 minutes late. Unacceptable.
Unreliable is too good a word to describe this can service company. Booked a Reservation for a cab to only to be disappointed when nobody called or showed up. When I called customer service, I was told that my reservation could not be found and then I was hung up on. Never again will I use this can service.
She waited anxiously for her scheduled trip it had been a couple of weeks since her last outing. It wasn't every day that she could go to the store but she had planned to go to Sam's Club and do some Birthday shopping for her upcoming party. At nine she would be ready for her yellow cab pickup that was scheduled for ten. Take me outside so we can see it coming she asked. My stepdad happily obliged for he loved it when she was in this kind of mood excited as if nothing could stop her. Up at five in the morning so he could get dressed before aiding the nurse and provider in getting her showered and ready to go. Two outfits and one anxiety attack later and she was good to go. As she was waiting my sister got a call at work. What you mean your cancelling. Your fare is too little and a waste of my time I got a better offer that's gonna make me more money the cab driver says. Why did you commit to picking her up, please just do it this time my mom is waiting. So you want me to work for minium wage he stated. My sister confused what are you talking about you said you could pick her up. Several minutes of back and forth a hang up from the cab driver ,She called yellow cab to order another handicap cab hopefully someone could take her. At 11:30 She vented to me with such anger that the same man who had cancelled her pickup was picking up her other fares and saying no one was answering so they kept on closing out my mom's pickup. To which my sister tried to get thru yellow cab to tell them what was going on to no avail. It is now 2:08 and my mom didn't not get to go on her outing. Instead she is sitting in her wheelchair wallowing in self pity wishing she did not have to rely on any one to take her places. We tell her sorry wish there was another way and she smiled and said it's okay maybe another time.
My momma suffers from ALS she has lost 90 percent of her motor functions she is on a ventilator and suffers from extreme anxiety. When she has a good day we try and make it her best day. When things like what happened today with Yellow Cab make her feel worthless it breaks my heart. Shame on you Taxi driver and shame on you Yellow Cab it makes me sick to think that my MOM is not a person but a fare that wasn't good enough. #alssucks #yellowcabsucks
I dealt with yellow cab 4 times and decided to finally do a review. The first two times I personally needed a ride somewhere they took the longest way to get to my destination. The last 2 recent times were for members I booked for, the members complained for having to wait so long to get picked up. I recommend to NOT use their service!
I rode in a cab today and I was unsure if I was going to make it to my destination. The cab was so raggedy and running horrible. We putt putted all the way. He couldn't go over 35mph and the inside of the cab was filthy.
I've ridden in cabs in any number of large cities, both in the US and abroad.
Do yourself a favor; DO NOT RIDE WITH THIS COMPANY
Got into a Yellow at Hobby airport for a ride to a Marriott hotel and it was THE WORST experience I've ever encountered. The driver, "Michael" seemed to be functionally illiterate. After repeating the hotel's address to him a couple of times, I showed him the address and location on my cell phone. He entered the address into his google maps and off we went. But he was unable to turn on the A/C. From the back seat I tried to talk him through the procedure, but he couldn't "get it."
Once in the vicinity of the destination, he claimed he couldn't find the hotel. So, he pulled into a parking lot at a strip mall and we got out to see the high rise "Marriott" clearly marked in large letters on the side of the building less than a block away. Then, he refused to honor the 10% senior discount, which was clearly posted inside the steaming hot van.
I called their "customer service number and spoke to "Mary" who had a limited command of English. She promised to have her supervisor contact me. As you can probably guess, that never happened.
I tried my best to schedule a pickup early for a flight. I call ever day leading up to the trip. They repeatedly said we will be there on time. The morning of the pickup they never dispatched it. The cab would have been about to 1 hour late. no thanks.
My girlfriend forgot her phone in one of their cabs, we contacted them to let them know. I got transferred to the cab driver. He lied about picking someone else after dropping my girlfriend, he blamed the other passenger , so he didn t have to give her cell phone back.... I wouldn t recommend anyone to use Yellow Cab...
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! My father in law is in stage 4 liver cancer and we keep making appointments for this service to pick him up to take him to his Dr appointments since he is also paralyzed from the waste down. The vehicles we have cannot accommodate his needs and we are waiting to be approved for meals on wheels service. He has a appointment today with his chemo at 10am and we scheduled the pickup for 9am they have yet to pick him up!!! We had to end up cancelling his Dr appointments from August 5th due to this company. I don't even think your company deserves a star but google makes me in order to post my review.
Terrifying. United Cab Houston sent me a yellow cab. Driver would not turn on meter. When I said he must turn on the meter he said "what's your p.roblem?" And other such bullying. I wanted to exit the cab but was locked in until I paid 6$ for the short, unmetered distance. Customer service put me on hold. Didn't care. Exited the cab, driver would not give me my baggage. Paid, got my baggage, but driver still would not leave until chased away by another guy. Awful. Nightmare.
I have a handicap, sister that called for information about the service, the lady was so rude to her, and told her if the fair was more, than what they quoted her, they would take the rest from her bank account, but she was paying cash, this was her first time ever calling to get information and she was treated so very rude, I think this person needs customer service training especially with first time callers, and all customers I know we will Never call this company again, to be treated less than a person, this is very unacceptable for a company to treat people like that.
I used the service twice and the hold time before getting a dispatcher was very little. The first time I called I didn't even have the full address but told the dispatcher the street name and store I was near and she found it. I waited less than 10 minutes for a taxi which was great. The 2nd time, I also only had to wait about 10 minutes before the cab arrived. The price was reasonable compared to a different company's taxi that I had used and I didn't have any issues.
I took a cab#1080 and the Driver number is#28231 and it was horrible. I called and had to wait 37 mins for him to show up. Once he arrived and I was in the cab we were leaving out of the parking lot when he dives over across 2 lanes of traffic. Other drivers were upset and began to honk. A large SUV almost hit us because they had the right of way. I fasten my seatbelt immediately because I could tell it would be a bumpy ride. I gave him the address but he refused to put it in the gps even though he did not know where he was going. He slowed down drastically once we were on a main street. The speed limit was 35 miles but he made sure to go 27 miles. very slow to earn more money.
When I mentioned this he snapped at me. It took forever to go just 5 miles. Once we were at my destination he wanted a tip but I refused because I did not feel comfortable. He is a very creepy man. He is arrogant and entitled he thinks he knows it all, but this fool knows nothing. Again this is driver#28231.
He needs to be fired or suspended without pay. He has no social skills and does know how to talk to people. I have never been treated so horribly in my life.
Never had a problem and have ended up finding a driver I like and have used them over and over. I do the same thing when I travel to cities that I must frequent. Sometimes there are bad drivers, most of the time they are polite and get the job done.
Had a lot of problems with Yellow Cab and they put you on almost eternal hold. Hard to get in touch with anyone. Used the "Hail a Cab" app and then had to cancel the reservations. Then called to make sure they were cancelled and got put on hold for the longest time, then got sent to dispatch, which was not the correct place for me to be sent. Then had to leave a message. Sigh...
Worse experience ever last night, I called around 11:15 pm and didn't get picked up until 1:50 in the morning , then to top it all off I get threatened a foreign driver who pulled out a gun on me
We ordered a cab didn't show at the designated time. We tried to get a live person on the line to see if they were 1 minute away or 20 minutes. Had to cancel. Will never use them again.
I CALLED TO ORDER A YELLOW CAB. WAITED 10 MINS THEN CALLED TO SEE HOW LONG IT MIGHT BE AND I PRESS THE NUMBER BUTTON FOR THAT INGO AND THE AUTOMATED VOICE SAYS WE ARE STILL TRYING TO FIND ME A CAB! SO NOW AFTER ANOTHER 15 MINS THEY STILL HAVEN'T FOUND A DRIVER. AND THEY ARE TRYING TO COMPETE WITH "UBER & LYFT"...PLEASE!
Scheduled a cab pick up at 6:30am to go to West Houston Medical Center for a procedure. She confirmed that a cab would be there at 6:30am. Called at 6:45am when there still wasn't a cab and she explained there was only one cab working in the area and no one had responded to the dispatch.... so why did she confirm the pickup in the first place? Had to drive to the hospital in pain in order to make it to my procedure... this company has lost my business and I will go out of my way to avoid using them in the future.
Got a call back at 7:50am to see if I was still waiting... Ha. What a joke.
I called the night before we needed to be picked up. Was told no problem, order in and the driver would call 5-10 min before pickup. Pick up time the next am rolled around, no call, no cab. Called the 713 number just to be told order was not accepted by any drivers, and there are no drivers in our area.....
Needless to say, don't just trust there assigned and expect someone to be there when you are told they will be. Customer service insisted there wasn't anything that could be done by them, they sent urgent messages to "dispatch" did not receive a cab. Canceled order will not be using again.
Don't bother with this company. Please do another search and find someone more reliable. Because of Yellow Cab's inability to pick me up over a period of 2 and half hours this past Saturday afternoon, I missed a very important appointment and am personally affected. The next company I called picked me up within 20 minutes. Stay away from Yellow Cab!!!! You have been warned!!!!
Was charged 2 times for fare on debit card, 67.50 + 72.50!!!! System is a dinosaur as well as the vehicle, smelly and dirty, there credit/debit system shut down during process and took 15+ min to pay, another 45 min on phone trying to get it resolved the next day! I was told that I will receive an email on reimbursement. Never recieved!! Not sure what that would have even done for me anyway! I was ROBBED by this company!! DO NOT USE them especially if your from out of town!! I will NEVER call these crooks again! CALL UBER!
If I can give them a negative I will. Im from out of town. I get off the flight at the bush airport and need a ride to my hotel so I see cabs out front and figured I'll just cab it until I download my Lyft app. I tell him my destination which was the holiday inn off the beltway 8. He entered the destination on his GPS and proceeded. Well $50 later he discovered he was lost so he told me he will take some money off. I asked him if he wanted the direct address and he told me no. So $67 dollars later we arive at the holiday in he charges me $60 which was no big discount. I grab my things and go inside and try and get my room but they didn't find my reservation because I was at the wrong hotel. Yes he dropped me off at the wrong hotel I asked him if he wanted the direct address and he declined. I called and asked for another ride and they said I'll have to pay again. I told them i wanted to be reimbursed. $60 is plenty of money to just throw away and I don't want to be screwed over. So the customer service representative said file a complaint and a manager will get back to me. I did that and the next day the manager called and say he cant help me out and it's nothing they can do about it. What a sad situation for an out of Towner to encounter i was robbed by this company don't trust them.
Whatever you people have done in the last year it has destroyed your ability to operate a business. I am currently on hold for7 minutes trying to get an operator to simply answer my call to arrange for taxi servie for my mother. So guess what I am rating you at "0ne".
So I'm in a cab right now an my driver is texting while he is driving like no lie he has his phone out txting swerving in an out of traffic on 45 an I paying to have my life in danger right now this is not cool at all
I had to select a star to make a post. I'm going to give Yellow Cab a try next time I need a ride. I'm tired of Uber/Lyft not being regulated on trip fees. Yellow Cab, from the reviews, you should teach your drivers to be courteous, on time, and pay attention to personal hygiene. I'm still going to give you a shot, but come on man, step up your game.
Pure and utter trash!!!! I waited almost an hour for my ride and the rate was ridiculous. I went as far as calling Customer service and the lady was rude and impatient. NEVER AGAIN, especially considering Uber and Lyft are MUCH better options.
Called for a scheduled pickup of 7:50. At 8:15, after numerous calls to check on status of car, I called Uber and had a ride in 6 minutes. Lesson learned.
I Work in the medical center and we work closely with yellow cab to ensure families get home in a safe and timely manner. Overall, my experience has been fairly well until tonight. I spoke to one of your dispatcher under the name "Esteban Ramirez" to book a cab for a family that needed to go home. Keep inmind that the family is ready to go home and have been in the hospitial for long hours. Mr. Ramirez failed to book a cab for the family, making them wait over 30 minutes, and when I called again to check the status of the cab he had the courage to blame it on me for givin the "wromg address". I then asked to speak to his manager and had me on hold for about 4 moinutes then transferred me to an automated system (the innitial greeting when you call yellow cab). I had to call again until i spoke with onother dispatcher and transferred me to a manager. Mr. Ramirez talked rudely and lacked of customer service.
I made an advance booking yesterday for Yellow Cab Houston with wheelchair accessibility via their new zTrip app for a 10 a.m. pickup this morning. At 11 a.m., "still dispatching." I called customer service three times and each time received the same response about a lack wheelchair accessible taxis in the city (we live in the Houston Heights).
Finally, I had to cancel because my 86 year-old mother-in-law can not be outside in the Houston heat of 95+ degrees. Unfortunately, she was not able to make the appointment for the MRI which she desperately needed.
It appears cabs are readily available for able-ability people, but not so much for the elderly or those who have mobility challenges. Sad...very sad.
I will NEVER use this company again. the first cab stank so bad of cigarettes that by the time we reached the airport(30 min) both passengers were getting nauseous. second cab a day later to a restaurant, went the long way, did not have receipt paper, took a personal call for 10 minutes and OVERCHARGED me by $20, and had the huztpah to ask for a frickin tip!
DO NOT use this company. EVER. I would have gotten to my destination faster had I walked. I just spent an hour walking in the cold trying to find my destination because I was dropped off at the wrong place by a driver who obviously knew nothing about the city. I missed the event I was trying to get to because I was too busy trying to find it. I will NEVER use Yellow Cab again.
Very bad experience. I scheduled a pick up and waited 1 hour and still no one accepted my request , the operator failed to tell me that on the 3 other times I called and asked why they were late.
The worst service ever! Whatever you do,do not ride this can service. I took a ride from one of my visits to Houston. The driver picked me up and asked where I was going I told him where I was staying,he decided to go downtown, after I had told him I was staying in the Galleria area. Then he said"sorry most visitors stay downtown"..he then took the long way to get to the hotel and decided to leave me of the hwy. Contacted the customers service, and the so call " manager" by the name of Mike said my story did not add up. A 9$ ride turned into 30 bucks. Yellow cab is the worse.
Horrible, horrible first eta was 5 minutes away, I called 45 minutes later they said it was a mile away, called 1hour and 45 minutes after my original call and somehow my first order got cancelled for some odd reason. They DO NOT have their stuff together. Horrible way to run a business.
I have called for taxis frequently, as I need it when I go to the store, or have an emergency and need quick transportation and can't wait for Metro. I have only had one slightly rude driver. The drivers I have had do not mind helping load the groceries, or waiting patiently as they are unloaded at the end of the trip. They are, with that one exception, friendly, personable, and attentive.
My husband was rear ended very hard by one of their Executive Transportation vehicles last week (week before Christmas!). It rendered my husband's car undrivable. The guy never apologized to start, and now we can't get their insurance, Vaught Insurance, to return any of our calls. My husband is now without a way to get to work, or if he takes our van, I'm left vehicle-less with 4 children.
Didnt want to give a star at all , terrible service used the app to book waited a hour then I called customer service and I wasn t event registered in the computer . I called back 3 times and still never got a taxi in 4 hours. Will never call again I m going to stick to lyft.
DANGEROUS: Horrible service and the driver wanted to steal my iPhone and even tried to be shady by asking me to leave my service dog in his van while I had to do my stop. These people are immoral and don t know ADA federal laws. I was discriminated and assaulted by the Cab Driver #600 Ahmed when his machine messed up taking only a portion of my due balance than he attacked my service dog and me. I escaped fortunately he drove off from witnesses who heard me screaming for help. DO NOT RIDE WITH YELLOW CAB!
Yellow cab isn't even an ok transportation service. The drivers r rude, the cabs stink, and the rate was too high for an awful experience. Uber is way better.
THEY KEEP YOU WAITING FOR HOURS , VERY UNPROFESSIONAL , NO FOLLOW UP CALLS AND VERY VERY LATE AND WHEN THE DRIVERS GET THERE THEY WILL DRIVE LIKE 10 MPH , I HATE THIS COMPANY NEED MORE UBER ,, YOU (MF'S)
Requested to pay by credit card when i did finally get in the cab the man tells me i have to pay cash. I chose credit for a reason. Then as we leave he tells me its going to be $45. I payed less than half of that going to the same exact place with a uber. Ridiculous! !
HORRIBLE experience! Taxi license plate BL6 T704 driver Tomas Jacob picked up my 68 year old mentally delayed sister after communicating to him not to take her he took her to take her money. He deliberately took her and I contacted the office and told them to look in her purse for her doctors report on her mental status.
Is a racist orignazation and will only pick up white people. Serves no justic towards anyone with different colored colored skinned. Was refused to pick up because whited for three months.
completely unprofessional tow guys called prior to the appointment with like 30 min and no body shows up and when i called the customer service she said somebody will pick you up goodbye. will never do it again and if you are going to catch a flight don't even risk it
Never Ever Again - Beware of cab driver 31899 who drives van number 282 with license plate number NNV-263, he will take you to wrong location, then make you pay half the price, if you complain he charges you full amount and calls cops!!!
I would have given this business half a star but that isn't an option. I called and spoke to someone that was the worst customer service rep I have encounter. I asked for a cab and 30 minutes later I called back to see the status and behold!.... He didn't put in my cab order. Then I had to wait 30 more minutes for a cab and when I call back the lady tells me it's an HOUR! I'm going to UBER. I Hope everyone reading this post decides not to use Yellow cab. They are the WORST.
Sucks to see what was once a GREAT Company go down because of poor management. While the ones in charge are too busy blaming UBER for there own failure. Even Lone Star Cab is picking up, but then again Lone Star has picked up and valued their GREAT employees. Unlike Yellow Cab.
I dont mind waiting but they lied about their time constantly. They said the ride would be there in 10 minutes, i waited 20 and callled to check and the cab driver said 5.... i waited 15 and then i called again to check up on him and yet again he said he'll be there in 5 minutes. They could have been straight up with me and said the wait time will be about 30 minutes
We gave them 4 shots for what would be a steady job, 3 times a week for 8 weeks. The first ride showed up 90 mins late, and when I called and asked him where he was, thinking he was lost, he got upset and hung up on me. The ride home never did show. The third time a guy was dispatched but didn't have a wheel-chair van. When called for the ride home he was still on 'the wrong side of town! Anything is better than this company! Both sets of rides were given 24 hour notice as to what we needed.
Called and waited over an hour and no cab. Call again and ask about cab and the operator starts screaming at me. Still waiting and no cab and now im late for work.
We took a cab late the other night / early morning to-and-from locations which were maybe 5 miles apart. I'm guessing the original driver didn't think the trip was long or that it paid enough, because when we phoned for a trip back, we were told they'd send us a cab and then upon checking TWENTY/THIRTY minutes later, there was no record of the request.
At that point we requested another cab ...
THEN ... TWENTY MINUTES AFTER THAT, to add insult to injury, the same exact thing happened AGAIN, in that there was apparently no booking. (When we called back in, the automated system asked if we wanted to book a cab instead of saying that a cab was on the way or that they were still trying to find one). While holding to speak to a live person again, I received a call from them on the other line, and a lady said she was sending "another cab".
I called back after only five or so minutes just to be sure they had the booking this time, and sure enough ... NO BOOKING.
I spoke to a guy and he assured me a cab was "in the area" and that he'd "send it". I asked how long it would be and he said they "didn't like to give out times" BUT that "if it didn't arrive in 10-15 minutes, to call back". SERIOUSLY???
I hung up and called back in to try and reach the lady I spoke to who had called me, but I guess they decided not to answer my number (I'm being serious, as how busy could they be at 4 in the morning?), and I was on hold for ten minutes the first time and 12 minutes the second time. Finally, we phoned a family member and he came. Note that at NO time did Yellow Cab ever call back or attempt to get us a cab.
------------------------------
Apparently, not having learned our lesson, we phoned Yellow Cab again last night and requested a cab. Fifteen minutes later, I called again, and received the message that they were still looking for a cab for us (at least they had the booking). Another ten minutes later, and the same thing ... still looking. At that point, I looked up other transportation options and came across "Lyft". It took me approximately 5-6 minutes to get an estimate, enter my credit card information, confirm a ride, and in less than FIFTEEN minutes we were in a great vehicle with a great driver from Lyft. These time frames are NOT an exaggeration.
Again, Yellow Cab is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. It is no wonder it seems that they no longer have the resources to compete. One has to wonder though, if the bad service is driving the collapse of the company or if it is the other way around.
The cab we rode in reeked and was in horrible condition. The seat belt was broken. The car shook all over when the driver got on the freeway. Not road worthy. The driver was nice.
We watched it out while two czbbies fought over who would get our fare. Then he drove aound a few blocks to run up the meter. After a 20 plus dollar bill we got home that was less than 5 miles away.
They had me waiting over 30 mins and the dispatch isnt even doin their job beacuse it has been 9 mins since he told me the driver is making the turn on my steet and am standing outside.
I didn t ride the cab. But I was trying get the next lane and then was a big gap for me to get in front of him and as soon as the head of my car is in the lane he (cab 1137) speeds on almost hits me and even though I was already on the lane he gets on the side of me really really close like our cars can literally touch just so I won t be in front of him, and to top it all off he was speeding like maniac after !! I would suggest you all not ride this cab (1137) he would put your lives in danger !
The driver was either high or drunk. He fell asleep on main street and drove into oncoming traffic. The driver's name was Lucky, from Nigeria, and his drive id number was 1637. He failed to reach a speed over 25 mph on Main where the speed limit is at least 35.
Additionally, we called a cab and were told it'd be 5-10min. We waited an hour before walking and luckily flagging down "Lucky".
I must be very lucky that I had a pleasant experience with yellow cab after viewing so many negative reviews. I called the phone number of United Cab (trying to avoid yellow cab) from my hotel phone for a ride half an hour later. I got called by the cab driver saying that he was almost there 10 minutes earlier. A yellow cab showed up in front of the hotel and I was told that they are the same company (interesting). Anyway the driver was very friendly, even after waiting for me for 10 minutes. That kinda changed my impression of yellow cab. Later that day I decided to call yellow cab directly to get back to the hotel. 5 minutes later the driver called and the cab showed up shortly after that. The second day, called yellow cab from my cell phone again and they've already had my address on file so I only need press 1 to book a ride (love this function, very convenient). The cab showed up shortly. I used three different yellow cabs and they were all good. Again maybe I am just very lucky.
I am very upset and outraged at the driver that was utilized to pick up a relative. I called the company for a pick-up for my non-English speaking relative. Setting up a ride was easy and my relative felt safe. The reason I am giving one star is because the driver tried to charge my relative $100 for a ride that was supposed to be $30! Luckily, my relative knew better. The driver was trying to take advantage of my relative since they are not from the US!
30 minutes and 2 phone calls later I'm still waiting for the "first available cab" which I was told would arrive in a "couple of minutes". Thankfully a driver passing by stopped and picked me up...otherwise I would still be waiting for the phantom yellow cab...
Know that not all taxi drivers are bad just some of them are. Now i will say i was a former yellow driver but i left that company they don't value good drivers or any drivers for that manner or care about them. All they care about is getting their money. They do have bad drivers and good ones but if you call them in customer service or any department besides dispatch they hardly ever pick up the phone and when you leave a message they rarely reply to messages the worst company i have ever seen.
They deserve a 0. We missed our flight because they did not pick us up after we reserved a pick up time the day before. We even called to confirm a half an hour before they were to pick us up. It cost us $150 to rebook our flight. If u need to catch a flight, take a shuttle.
Called at 3:00 pm for a ride at 3:35 pm. Taxi had never showed without an apology. I had called back twice for an estimation on how late they would be; completely understanding it's a busy holiday, and the dispatch could not tell me why we hadnt been picked up and guaranteed a rush to pick us up. My girlfriend is now one half hour late to work, and could lose her job because we relied on Yellow Cab to get her there; as promised on time. DO NOT use this taxi during holiday hours if you have any reason to be on time or anything of importance.
Booked a taxi on line the day before. I called 6 hrs before the scheduled pickup time and verified my reservation. 15 min. Past the scheduled time i called to see where the cab was, and dispatcher said "no one had picked it up yet", but that she would have a taxi there in 15 min. Now 30 min. past my scheduled pickup taxi still not here and never showed up. I missed my own birthday dinner! Wtf horrible service.
