Literally one of the worst cab companies!! If you...

Literally one of the worst cab companies!! If you work at a hotel and you're using this cab company, please find another. I am in search of a better one now. You have to wait close to an hour or more sometimes to get a taxi. All cab drivers are rude and the agents over the phone are rude. The taxi device given to our hotel will say "arrived" but there will be no taxi. I always ask our customers if they have UBER or LYFT b/c they are the better choice.

I never right reviews but this is the absolute most completely disrespectful and unprofessional experience I ve I ve ever had and I ve been in the service industry for 15yrs... for one for a driver to pick up the wrong person is understandable and all I was doing was trying to confirm my card wasn t charged through the app... and for the dispatcher to try and argue with me after we both knew and confirmed that it was a mistake was completely out of line. And when I complained it was like o well! Smh this is why uber and lyft are killing your business!!!!

JUST HAD THE ABSOLUTE WORST CAB EXPERIENCE EVER!!! DRIVER WAS RUDE, BELLIGERENT AND DANGEROUS. PULLED SUDDENLY IN FRONT OF A SCHOOL BUS TO MAKE A U-TURN. GRANTED, streets had some standing water, but I gave him instructions to avoid. He wouldn't listen. No wonder people stick with UBER and LYFT. They're reliable (for the most part), and in 3 years of using these ride shares, not a single negative experience. YELLOW CAB NEEDS TO CLOSE SHOP...THEY OBVIOUSLY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE CUSTOMER!!

UNRELIABLE, NON-EXISTENT COMMUNICATION, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.... booked a cab for a 6AM airport ride 24 hours in advance...called at 5:45 to find that no one had 'picked up' the cab... they claimed they made it urgent..i phoned back 15 minutes later.. told a cab had been assigned...call 15 minutes later... told the cab was 5 minutes away so I went outside to wait...called 10 minutes later...i was told the cab was less than a mile away... called 10 minutes later after no show and was told that the driver had driven to the house and I wasnt there! (total BS since I was in front of the house the whole time)... they then said they would try and get the driver back..i called back 10 minutes later and it was like deja vue, no cab assigned and that they would try and make it urgent.. I hung up and my wife got out of bed to take me to the airport with all 5 kids... NEVER, EVER USING YELLOW CAB AGAIN

One of the taxi drivers crashed into my sister & the receptionist was very rude just stalling not wanting to help. My sisters insurance kept calling them and calling them and my sister tried contacting them more than 1 month . This company keeps stalling and stalling. The lady in the front is so unprofessional and rude . Her baggy eyes tells me she is not having a good life but that doesn t mean she has to take it out on people. THE WORST TAXI COMPANY EVER. DISGUSTING COMPANY FOR STALLING . COWARDLY MOVE TO NOT FACE THEIR MESS.

HORRIBLE. Use another firm. Booked and received a booking reference, but after 45 minutes, no cab. They said a reference doesn't mean it is booked(?!). They said the were sending another cab; 30 minutes later no cab. But they never called me to tell me. Will never use again.

I use this service occasionally. For the most part, it's just ok. On some occasions, the taxi service has been well under what one would usually expect. Yesterday - older car, no AC, and in another case, a piece of crap van with AC that worked but did not blow cold and that rode very,very rough. Of course, regardless of this, the drivers expected not only the fare, but also a tip. On another occasion, a driver claimed he could not accept debit/credit cards, only cash (a lie, they all are supposed to take cards these days). Also, do NOT use a driver who is 'driving dark' w/o the fare machine running in plain sight. Always make sure that's on before your journey begins.

For the fourth largest city in the United States, Houston has a shockingly bad taxi infrastructure. It's a lottery with these guys - they are apparently just a collection of independent drivers. When you call for a cab it's a crapshoot. If it's a less busy time they're reasonably reliable, but at busy times, they'll show up 15 minutes early (you'd better be ready), late, or, mostly, not at all. If the City of Houston is serious about clamping down on drink driving they need to invest in standing up a half decent taxi service for the city.

Got picked up by one of these yellow cabs from the airport to my hotel - ID number 1194 - ride should have been $65, this particular driver upped the price to $75, $85 and tried to charge me $90. Stating that there are extra costs for luggage and late night driving fee. Didn't start the meter and was very unprofessional. Would not advise using a credit card in these taxis. The fare ended up being $85, called management and then said it should have been $65. Would not advise getting into one of these taxis under any circumstance - especially if you see the ID number 1194.

I called this place for a taxi to go into work, First, there are no live people to talk to, it's automated and they can't find your address or can't put in a name then they "transfer" you to a human. I waited over 5 minutes 3 times in a row to talk to someone and NO ONE answered. I work in a hotel and send these people business ALL the time. This stops today. I will not recommend this to ANYONE and will tell them about my experience. At one point I heard a human as the call was transferred but they quickly put me on hold. Horrible answering service.

The website does not recognize South Loop 610 West as a valid street name. As a result I always have to call to book a cab to this location. The cabs generally arrive on time and apart from this problem, which is irritating, the service is OK.

My daughter called yellow cab this morning and a cab came driver name was saeid cab number 681 he was rushing her and very rude well cause he rushed her she forgot her wallet she called me to adk if i could pay for it i told her yes but he said if i was not thete he wad not going to ecept the payment and said she needed to give him her phone she is in the middle on almost nothing its bearly being built in the area back of woodlands and she asked a co worker they gave her the money nd he said she's not the first ones he's done this to he had to open ID ( potential identity theft ) he has also to open jewelry and etc. He has been reported so hopefully they will let him go and not even 1 star is worth giving him

This company sucks. I've tried to use this yellow before but was always disappointed. Why you may ask? Well ill tell you. "First time" called at 12noon didn't get one till 3....
2nd called never showed up.. ever. So I drove my self after I had to wait 2 hrs for my girl to get off work...To day, 2/7/2017. Called at 5:15am waited....and waited so called again at 6am said they had no cars but they had one in my area would be there in 10..... it is now 7:07.......... never again will I use this company unless you get on your game.!!!

I called for a cab at 12:24am; I called back three times to see what was taking so long and if the cab was still coming. Finally after waiting over an hour (1:37am) and still no driver I had to walk home. I had to walk from 7221 Fondren Road to Bissonnet Street and Beltway 8. There were two other females waiting for their Uber Driver; and he was there to pick them up in less then 15 minutes. So the moral to this real live situation is; DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME ON YELLOW CAB. Keep Your money in your pocket for the Uber or Lift Driver.This is not the first time that I have had a problem with Yellow Cab; but I can assure you it will be the last.

Never showed-was late for wedding! I read the terrible reviews but my hotel recommended them. I called several hours ahead to book my pick-up. She confirmed my hotel, room number and time & told me to call back 20 minutes before I wanted to depart which I did and once again confirmed my hotel and room #. When they didn't show the front desk called a 3rd time for me. They never heard of me but were on their way. They still never showed. Front desk called another company and he was there in 5 minutes. Unfortunatley by this time I was late to the wedding!

If I could give a minus 10 I would do it. They provide a horrible service starting with the dispatcher, who are lazy and make you wait for a long time, then the drivers are so rude! They should get manner classes and be tested every 6 months to make sure they are qualifies to do the job a treat passengers right!

I have had pretty good luck over the years with yellow cab. Uber and Lyft are also good alternatives but yellow cab has been the most consistent. I just wished the kept their Taxis cleaner. I will continue to use them in the future

Horrible. Never again. Back to Uber /Lyft. The driver came on time (car #284). I was at a drugstore. I had 4 bags and a brand new plant. He pulls up in a mini van, doesn't greet or speak to me and doesnt get out. he just pops his hatch and points at it. I tell him no thank you I will hold my bags with me. I'd already placed my plant on the roof of the van. He rolls his eyes and screeches away. My plant crashes and shatters. He stops when he hears it. I threaten to report him and his demeaner changes. He hands me $12 to cover the lost plant AND APOLOGIZES for his wrongdoing and possible racial bias towards me. When we get to my home he asks for the fare, which was about--$12. I give it to him and then he demands the fare. I refuse and threaten to call the cops. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE COVID 19 and let this industry die a natural death.

You couldn't ask for worse customer service and a worse experience coupled with a horrifically long wait. It's no wonder people are leaving monopolized cab companies for uber and Lyft. Just another example of how competition provides excellence. Can't wait til these unionized monopolies are all crushed and people actually get the goods and services they expect. Yellow cab, you stink!

I work for a restaurant and recently contacted yellow cab to pick up a client. 20 minutes had passed and the cab had not arrived yet, so i decided to opt for an uber instead. the uber driver got her 5 minutes after the contact as opposed to the yellow cab driver got here 1 hour after i had contacted them. i highly recommend getting an uber instead of a yellow cab. Yellow cab one of the worst services ever.

Yellow Cab is the worst! I called at 4:00pm for a 5:15pm pickup. They did not show up until 6:15pm. I called several times and they were able to track the vehicle on GPS, but that doesn't make it get there on time. I am very disappointed in the timeliness.

I seriously hope Uber and Lyft push this disgusting company out of business ASAP!. Whomever is running this company should have been out of the door a long time ago. They are obviously just kicking back an getting an easy paycheck , because they do NOTHING!
This is absolutely the WORST, most unprofessional, unreliable transportation service there is! Drivers are rude, cabs are dirty and stinky , making a reservation is a waste of time, and it s IMPOSSIBLE to get a wheelchair accessible van, even if you call a day ahead and make reservations, they still don t show up. This is the 4th time in a row they ve made my sick relative miss their appointment. They will also LIE and tell you , you never scheduled the reservation only to cover their butts!
Something needs to be done about this HORRIBLE company, get whoever is supposed to run this company out the door ASAP, and get someone in there that will actually do their job and who cares about the integrity of this business. If not this entire cab service should just go out of business, we won t miss you!

This is the second terrible experience that I've h...

This is the second terrible experience that I've had with Yellow Cab here in Houston. We waited almost an hour for a cab that was supposed to take 15-20 minutes. Finally, our cab (cab #81) arrived. The cab driver did not know how to get to our destination (even when I gave him cross streets) and proceeded to ask for directions. Isn't a cab driver supposed to know how to get a customer from one place to another? Or at least have the resources to find out? Incidentally, this is the second Yellow Cab driver that I've had who did not know how to get to where I was going (the first one denied that W.W. Thorne Blvd was a real street no matter how many times I told him that it was).

The driver I had most recently refused to check his map, even when it was quite clear that he did not know where he was going. After asking him to check a map multiple times, he finally gave the map to my wife and told her to look, which was absolutely unacceptable. After twenty minutes of aimless driving up and down I-45, I finally called the destination and had them give the cab driver directions. Our total fare was $35.00 for a trip that probably should have cost closer to fifteen. He ultimately charged us $25.00, but I still felt like the price was unfair because he had wasted so much time not knowing where to go. Add to that a $5 dollar fee for using a credit card.

I don't want a free cab ride, but I don't think I should have to pay $25.00 for being lost for at least twenty minutes. I also don't appreciate having to wait 45 minutes for a cab (we needed to be somewhere by a specific time and were 20 minutes late). I would understand if this were a weekend night, but the dispatcher said that there were 12 or 13 cabs in my area at the time.

Customer service seemed to agree that this situation was pretty outrageous, but it s been 2+ weeks and I have yet to see a refund. Yellow Cab is completely unprofessional from top to bottom. I would rather have a buffalo take a diarrhea dump in my ear than call this company again.

Just Literally waited an hour and 30 minutes to see if one of their "independent contractors" would give me a ride they didn't I was 5 minutes from downtown and 10 minute car ride from home they never even attempted to contact me worst experience ever with a cab uber or anything..... like how do you stay in business never ever calling yellow cab again had a friend call me a Lyft it got there in 3 minutes I will strongly advice all my friends and family to never ever consider calling a cab if they need transportation I don't see another 3 years before cabs are extinct all together

Made another one in the morning, they guy that was coming, cancelled it so the dispatcher called and they really don't understand anything so I was 45 mins late to work ! Just use Uber of Lyft if you want a reliable ride !

On stoney brook and Westheimer at 234pm on Friday july 27 2018 a young middle eastern or latino driver turned into my lane without looking nearly causing an accident, luckily I swerved and avoided him, then from the middle lane he drove into a red light and made an illegal right turn. No idea who this guy was, what his license plate was, but I know it was houston yellow cab. He gave me an unapologetic look when our eyes met before he turned off. Called to complain and they asked to transfer me instead of taking info down.

This is the worst taxi company out there - do not ...

This is the worst taxi company out there - do not use them. My initial call went smoothly and I was glad, however, on a day when they were supposed to show up:
1) they called me about 20 minutes before requested arrival time and asked me for extra $50.00 because I live in Montgomery. Really? What a great surprise. And still I said ok.
2) but then they didn't show up at 6:45AM as I asked. Not at 6:50AM either. Finally, we had to get in our own truck at 7:05AM and drive to Bush airport ourselves because United flight wouldn't be waiting for us.
Hands down, worst taxi company ever!!!

I'm giving it one star simply because I cannot rate with a zero. Operators were rude. took them 40 mins to get us. Cab driver went to the wrong hotel and blamed us for giving the wrong address... which we Didn't. Cabbie argued on where we were going.. he thought it was a location 45 mins away when we wanted to only go 10 mins up the road. later that night. Used my Uber app. Picked up in 10 min. Greeted by a friendly driver. Cost 5$ cheaper.

I don't even want to give Yellow Cab any stars- and since one star says I hated it....I will choose that. We called THE NIGHT BEFORE and requested a cab for 3:30am the following morning to IAH for a 5am redeye flight. At 3:45am still no yellow cab, no call....nothing. We finally gave up on waiting on a car that was not coming and drove ourselves to the airport. At 4:20am, we received a call asking "Do you still need a cab"? We needed one 50 minutes earlier!!! Had we of counted on their service we would have missed our flight. Yellow Cab Houston SUCKS.

Not sure what the 362 reviews average reviews 2 stars?? are for .. but rest assured I will gladly use YC again in the future and the ride was cheap and quick and enjoyable. I live 15 minutes from the airport, and 40 minutes after calling them because they had no arrived, I called again. They refused to give me an ETA, but said they would try their best. I called a different company and a taxi arrived 5 minutes later. Yellow Cab called me over an hour and a half after I first called to say they had arrived, sorry but you don't deserve my business.

My only experience so far when Uber suddenly froze my account the moment I called for a ride to airport, I frantically looked for yellow cab and they showed up right away and got me there on time. Uber failed. The price was maybe $15 higher, but Uber was a complete fail, Yellow cab worked.

Horrible service!!! Waited an hour and a half for a driver. Dispatch kept sending them to the wrong address. Then they had the audacity to say I gave them the wrong address! Twice! I am so disgusted with this company. I was in a very unsafe area, and to be kept waiting like that, is frightening. The dispatchers are rude and inconsiderate.

TERRIBLE! My sister was told some cabs would accept her dog she needed a ride to the vet. They got there and the driver was rude complaining how long it took him to get there. THEN they left her stranded at the vet with no way home...She waited over 6 hours until we were able to pick her up.

Very bad service especially if you want a handicapped van on a weekend. Waited with a handicapped person for more than two hours for the van to come in spite of booking the service the day before. Very unreliable and would suggest everyone to avoid getting a taxi/van from them. I would not even give them a star except for the fact that I cannot post this without doing so. PLEASE AVOID getting handicapped van from them.

Cab driver started off very friendly and I was pleasantly surprised. But then he pulled over on the middle of the freeway for no reason and made up something about driving in the wrong gear, so we sat there. When we finally got to the airport the fare was double the estimated fare and was 3x what I usually pay. As if it couldn't get worse he tried to tell me the card machine was broken and he had to write my card info manually. When I refused he made me go to the atm, which was all of the way in the basement on the other end of the terminal, when I was already tight on time for my flight. Not wanting to make a scene, nor be cheap, I did as he asked. When I got back and paid in cash, the card machine was miraculously working again. Oh and did I mention he was a former teacher, but was fired for being inappropriate? I don't care how desperate I am, I will never use these guys again.

Called for cab at 4:10pm, by 4:45pm never showed up so I called customer service, was waiting forever on the phone. Eventually, I made other arrangements but NEVER received a phone call from the cab company. Would have waited FOREVER.

I hope they bring UBER back and put this waste of a company out of business.

A trip that normally costs 25 dollars cost me 40 dollars and I didn't even get dropped off at my destination. I tried to give my driver directions and he ignored them. I was dropped off 5 miles from where I was supposed to be. This has happened more than once, extremely dissatisfied with this company.
