My hubby is an ACTIVE Uber SELECT (luxury car) driver. He has such a hard time getting legitimate answers to questions - it's frustrating! In Uber's infinite wisdom - at least in LV, NV - they promote the cheapest of cheap rides, and put the higher end Select & XL (SUV) options on the second page!?! BAD BAD MARKETING!! ANYONE in business knows, you promo your higher end up front, and people who want or need the cheaper option....will look for it!!! Since we can't get a real person, in the position that can hear this concern & address it, then I will review it HERE! MAYBE, just MAYBE, they will sit up and pay attention NOW!! We have been in sales and marketing for a long time! We have both been in the transportation industry in Las Vegas for approx 20 years! These 'powers that be' that are elusive - even an email address, let alone a phone number or even a business office address locally -- should actually listen & if nothing else....TRY OUT THE CONCEPT!!!! Everyone stands to make more money....the drivers, most importantly, and the Uber company itself! In Vegas, the "Norm" is... business people, as well as everyday people, want a luxury car at a reasonable price, especially in Vegas! Uber select is a fair option over an ill maintained limo company type car....However, even alot of execs who take Uber, don't know it's available in Vegas, because (A) it is not marketed properly -- only the cheapy uber X -- and (B) the option to choose SELECT & XL is on a secondary screen page!! PUT THE HIGHEST END CARS on the FIRST PAGE & the people who want the cheaper rides, trust me....they are going to look for it!!! Uber is getting a bad name or considered mediocre because the drivers can't make any money doing Uber X....which is the majority of chosen moves....because they can't find the luxury end option! So now that attitude trickles down and there you go....you've just gotten that I don't care attitude out of a driver and an unsatisfied client! Get with Uber!!! MARKET your SELECT CARS PROPERLY! ALSO, give the professional drivers the opportunity to make a living too! The final point -- give a LOCAL CONTACT phone call or email address to contact to the operation mgr locally.....seems he's always out hiking somewhere, instead of promo-ing to help the drivers & Uber's image!. A final note....when one does email the "help" customer support option - very generalized answers -- the 'canned pitch' is the response. If you're not permitting questions to be thoroughly answered, or the young people who don't know the answers can't elevate it for an appropriate answer....then there needs to be a contact to GET those answers!
I believe UBER CAN be a great company in Vegas -- but maybe someone should sit up and listen to some of your professional drivers who offer valuable experience and suggestions! Just sayin'.....
