I have used Jack's Small engine for replacement parts many times and am satisfied with their parts and service. First of all let me say that I have worked in the small engine, lawn and garden equipment repair and parts industry and understand the challenges. In a perfect world, parts for all the thousands of engine and power equipment products out there would always be available and sitting on a shelf ready to sell. This is simply not the case and just identifying a correct part that is needed is not always a simple task. It takes knowledge and experience to identify, stock, source and order a correct part. In the 25 + years I have worked with lawn, garden, and power equipment I have seen many brands go away and many brands that have merged. Even when you have the perfect part sources available, there are times when the parts are just not available in a reasonable amount of time. I have used MANY parts sources over the years and have been disappointed with some and move on to others. Yes, not knowing if a part is in stock is a big issue but personally I make a phone call and confirm the availability of a part before I order. Jack's Small Engine is a very good source for small engine and power equipment parts and have provided parts many times when others could not. I will stick with Jack's Small Engine because they have provided good parts service to me. Jack's Small engine does have the expertise to identify and provide the right part.

Emailed Jack's twice to see if my parts were in stock before I made the 116 mile round trip. They never got back to me. After a week I decided to order the parts online from another business that offered fast free shipping. Sorry that someone has dropped the ball at Jack's. Customer service should be top priority.

Worst customer service EVER!! Paid $5049 for a zer...

Worst customer service EVER!! Paid $5049 for a zero turn mower which they shipped UPS freight. UPS freight never delivered as promised and when I called customer service I was told I should call UPS. THEY SHOULD have called. UPS wanted to leave it on the side of the road the next business day because they failed to deliver it when scheduled... WHAT? I MISSED A WHOLE DAY FROM WORK FOR NOTHING. I asked for a refund and I was told a manager would have to refund me as the representative couldn't. DO NOT BUY EQUIPMENT TO BE SHIPPED FROM HERE. You would be lucky to get it, let alone a refund when you didn't get it!
UPDATE: 7 days after original delivery date, STILL NO REFUND!! 3RD call to Jack's and the representative calmly states the mower has been there for 2 days but they haven't had time to inspect it yet. HUH? I didn't send THEM the mower, why do I have to wait for an inspection? That's their policy!! They stated it's not THEIR fault it didn't get to me. I THINK IT IS!! The company you choose to ship REPRESENTS YOU as a company. I have been forced to file a fraud complaint against this company. STAY AWAY and buy elsewhere!! LOOK AT YELP REVIEWS!!

I was truly impressed with Jack's Small Engines when I ordered parts for my lawnmower that I couldn't find other places. They had everything I needed and a lot more plus the website was easy to navigate and the information on the parts along with diagrams were so simple to understand which I think is great. The best part is that my shipping was free and I had my parts on Monday after ordering the Friday before! Thanks so much Jack's Small Engines I'll recommend you to everyone I know.

Ordered parts for my riding mower 8/11, all were in stock according to the website. Got a email the next day saying a bolt was out of stock ( a common 5/16 bolt btw), and the order would be delayed 2-10 days. Ten business days (12 days) later I get a email saying the bolt is still out of stock due to extended vendor delays, but I can email and they'll ship a partial order. I emailed, no response. A week goes by, another email saying it's delayed. We're now at 23 days after ordering, when the website says 2-4 day shipping. I email, no response. Three days go by, so I call. 19 minutes on hold until someone answered. The guy was polite, and cancelled my order per my request. My local dealer had all the parts in three days after ordering them. Pros- great website, easy ordering online. Cons- no customer service via email, long wait on phone, and almost a month of waiting with no parts shipped. They did refund my credit card promptly.

I needed a $3 part, but I didn't want to pay $8 shipping.

I called to see if it was available in store, but the phone system put me on hold waiting for someone to answer. I waited for nearly 20 minutes before hanging up.

I ended up just going to the store. The store is not as big as I expected it to be. There were lots of people standing around. I could not identify any of them as being employees. After wandering around for several minutes, I ended up in the back end of the store by a row of desks. This is apparently where to go. The staff behind the desks can help with finding products.

Turned out they had to order the $3 part.

Explained to Jennifer what problem I was encountering on my Husqvarna trimmer, told her everything I'd already done, parts replaced, etc. and she told me I needed a new carburetor. Bought the new carb, new gas. Working through Jack's was much better than trying to work through Husqvarna support. I could've been up and running two weeks earlier. Great service and great staff.

I called, got the missing parts coming, I won't receive them for another week. The guy I talked to had it in his hand, WTH? Since they have to pay shipping for their mistake I have to eat the time. - On September 10, 2018, I ordered a 48 PLUG AERATOR (part number 71508200) for my Gravely riding mower. The price displayed on the website was $249.95 plus $10.95 for shipping, for a total of $260.90. - On September 11, 2018, I received by email an order acknowledgement for my order mirroring this very price.
- On September 12, 2018, the store called me to ask for an $100 to cover additional freight cost or to cancel the order. I refused both and I asked them to fulfill their advertised price and order acknowledgement. A few minutes later, they sent me an email Per your request, we have canceled your order I am furious and very disappointed. They misled me with their price, cancelled my order without my authorization and lied about the origin of the order cancellation. They are dishonest people.

On Oct 29th I called and was told it would arrive there on Nov 9th. Unit had already been charged to my card and balance already paid. I cancelled order and they said they would credit my card. I would have given 5 stars, but on an order last summer they were waiting for a part and couldn't accurately tell me when to expect shipment. But customer service was friendly about it and apologized. Knowledgeable folks with parts for just about any small engine or piece of outdoor power equipment!

I just bought a new Gravely Pro-Turn at Jacks after a ton of research. The experience was very good and Justin in sales was enjoyable to work with. Admittedly, I was not an easy customer, I researched the product at a ridiculous level and Justin was very patient and helpful. During discussions, none of the sales team would badmouth other local shops and kept the entire process professional and strictly about product specs. I would recommend them and buy again.

I ordered snowblower parts. They then ordered parts from the manufacturer and sent them to me when they got them. Seems like they are one of those places that dont actually have stock on hand. So if you order something, there is a chance they may not be able to get it. But for me, they did get it and mailed it to me. It is a slow process, but I got what I needed at a low price. Do not order form here if you are in a hurry. These type of resellers keep prices low by not holding inventory.

None of it is true, it's all bogus. None of the parameters were met. Requested an exchange of the part that did not work going on four weeks weeks ago and forget about the voice recording that states a response back within one business day. Its been over a week with no response. For a lousy $28.00 part (which probably cost them less than $20.00) was it worth the bad posting?

I've ordered parts a few times from Jack's. The last order was several parts, of which all but one were in their warehouse ready for shipment very quickly. I needed the parts to fix my mower so I asked them to ship the parts they had and I would get the other locally (was delayed several times to Jack's by the manufacturer). Jack's promptly shipped the order, and then shipped the other part separately when they received it a week later. I didn't even expect to get the part, nor did they charge me a shipping fee for the separate shipment. Thanks Jack's!

When we moved to Jarrettsville I wanted to use a local company versus a big box store to get my yard equipment and know I was giving back to a small business in the community thinking their customer service would be top notch in order to compete with the big guys. Boy was I wrong. Earlier this year (2020), I bought a tractor, snow blower and pressure washer from them.
Tractor Issue: After mowing my property, I noticed the 12V accessory adapter wasn't working and my rep (Amber) said they would look at it because I had just purchased the unit. What she didn't tell me until after the fact was there is a $60 pickup/delivery fee, this was never mentioned until I needed to get my unit back and they never found out what was wrong with it, so it wasn't fixed.
Pressure Washer Issue: Once it got warm out to use the pressure washer we set it up and used it to treat an old playset for our son (using non-ethanol fuel). After that first use we noticed it was leaking fuel out of the carburetor. I took it back to Jack's to have them look at it and my sales rep - Amber - mentioned since I had spent close to $6,000 on all the equipment, I wouldn't have to pay the $45 service fee to get it looked at. Well, I should have learned from the first time. When I went to pick it up after the diagnostic they told me I owed the $45 or I couldn't pick up my unit. When they went in the back to talk to Amber about how she said she would waive the fee, she told them (from the back, never came out front to talk to me) that she never said that and I would have to pay or I wouldn't get my unit back. As for the "diagnostic" - The service department did a quick diagnostic and said I would need to have a brand new carburetor put on the unit ($180) and that would fix the issue, also since the issue was fuel related it couldn't be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. I decided to not have them fix it and get a second opinion and I'm glad I did. I went to another Generac service dealer in the area - Walter G. Coale and they took the time to assess the issue and found out that a float in the Carb wasn't leveling correctly and thus allowing the Carb to flood causing the leak! They called Generac and the cost of the new Carb and the service WAS covered under warranty.

It's my experience with Jack's Small Engines that they are not a great company to do business with if you are looking for that small local business who provides great customer service and takes the time to assess problems from a service department level. From what I can gather, they make the majority of their profits from online sales and just so happen to have a store front in Jarrettsville. Also make sure you compare prices before buying from them, I had to let them know of the current manufacturer sale prices on products I purchased from them to get their price down, beyond that everything was full MSRP. My advice to Jack's: If you're going to charge me full price on everything then provide some reliable customer service on the back end and stand by your word.

I had to retire from working on small gas engines my body gave out! I loved the job trouble shooting a problem and sometimes some real brain teasers! [that is what I enjoyed most!......last year an old customer brought me a lawn tractor that in 2005 I had to rebuild the overhead valves mainly because never changed his oil its 2015 and I get the same tractor back again no oil change.....ten years later same problem this time it is internal and can not be fixed [from a cost stand point {cost of rebuild is far more the motor is worth}] so we bought a abused & broken sears garden tractor I got with Jack's small engine and got all the parts we needed [and at a much better price than what sears want for each part the quality of the parts met or exceeded the sears part what I couldn't get I made and there was some welding involved he got a very nice tractor in the and stiffed me for all the labor! I will work only on what I use my self and you can bet I will get my parts from............JACK'S

Confirmation email showed that they did not have the part and would order it and it would ship in 14 days. Called the next day to cancel and get a refund, and 5 days later the refund still has not been processed. We have been lied to 3 times on the one order.

These people are completely unprofessional and impossible to contact by phone and take forever to respond by email. I waited 3 weeks for a product to ship, it never did. Then come to find out they never even had it in stock (which was not in the details when ordered) I have been trying for about 2 weeks now to get them to issue a refund. (5 week total process) Was told a refund was issued over a week ago and still have yet to see it. Please don t waste your time or money with this place.

Jacks gets 5 stars from me. It's not too often that I find a retailer that backs up the products they sell with outstanding service. I can also easily get parts either in the store or promptly when ordered online.
In the past year, I have purchased a Gravely Zero Turn Lawn Mower as well as Husqvarna's Home Owner Grade Pole and Chain Saws. Justin made sure that I chose the right mower for my 2 acre yard. I went back and saw him for accessories that included a LED Headlight kit and a hitch for a fertilizer spreader. If you are thinking about any kind of power saw, see Jess behind the counter. Look for the cutie pie in Levi's and Camo. She loves to talk about anything with a two-stroke engine, widow makers and guide bars. Jack's prices on Pre-Mixed Fuel and Bar & Chain Oil competitive. My favorite store.

I would have ordered elsewhere had I been informed during the order process. A poor way to do business. Two weeks later I get my order. Opened the box to find someone else's order, not mine. Customer rep apologized and re-ordered my parts. Stuff happens. I got a confirming email and then when I checked the order status, guess what? Half of the parts are back ordered again! I wonder if the parts were ordered over the phone, would I have been told they were out of stock? Last time for Jack's s*&t!

Do not do business with this company. They sold me parts they did not have in stock. I contacted customer service about the issue, and got some automated response that showed me they didn't care about pleasing their customers. It took 2 weeks for my package to arrive. When it got here, I was missing half of my order. I called and got some ass hole on the phone. He very rudely told me that it should have all been in the box, and that they will figure it out and get the items out to me. I told him about my issue with their website not listing the parts as "out of stock", he said it's a complex business and unfortunately they just haven't added that feature to their parts website. 4 hours go by, and I get an email saying they are just going to refund me for the missing parts. Thanks for wasting 2 weeks of my life. Buy your parts somewhere else people.

Be aware of the ship times and items being in stock. The fast 2-4 day shipping is kind of a joke! I ordered parts to do a head on a B&S engine. Waited a couple days for my email to say parts were shipped. Never got it. Checked the order status online and it showed all 6 parts were on order from the vendor. Estimated ship dates varied between 5-7 days. Called to confirm this and was told the parts would not ship for another 2 weeks! A better inventory system on the web site would be very helpful!

Jack's has good prices and if you aren't in a hurry to get your parts, shop on. However, be aware that unless you call in your order, you do not know the stock status of the part. On both orders I've placed, parts have been out of stock and you are looking at upwards of a two to three week delay in getting them. Jack's won't ship partial orders, so all your parts are held hostage. When I asked the online orders guy why they don't show stock status on the website, he said that was the number 1 request by customers but didn't know if or when it would be done.

What a nightmare. The site showed the hydraulic pump I needed available as well as advertising "fast shipping". I placed an order on a Sunday morning which my card was charged right away. Thursday I receive an email that there was an issue with the order. I call to find they needed a picture of my license to verify it was not a fraudulent charge. At which time I found the pump was not even in stock anymore. The part I PAID FOR ALREADY was gone by the time they got around to letting me know there was an issue with my order. Apparently it would not be back in stock for another week at which point they would then process the order and ship out to me. Since they already charged my card I get to wait to get my money back. Lesson learned to shop elsewhere... I just wish it didn't cost me a piece of equipment being down an extra week.

When a couple days went by and I had not received notice that it had shipped I went back and looked up my order and found that 3 of the 8 items were out of stock, which should have been identified at the time of the order or at the very least an automated email after the fact with some sort of resolution rather than leaving me hanging. The estimated arrival dates range from several days to a week, so I found them in stock elsewhere and have now sent 2 emails asking for my order to be cancelled but have received no response .

The charged my Credit Card before having the part in stock. I have requested they refund that money. They do not respond to my emails despite several attempts. Very shady company. I recently bought a drive belt for my riding mower. When it arrived it would not fit. It cost me $8.75 to ship it and $8.75 to ship it back. The belt only cost $21 and some change. Other people gave them a good review not me. I will never use Jack's Small Engine again. I will never recommend them to anyone. I have $17.50 tied up shipping charges on a belt that would not fit. I went went to my local Auto Parts Store and bought the right belt for $10.

Let me just state that I have purchased items for Jacks about once a month for several years. Lately I have noticed their service to be lacking and orders that were one time routine taking longer and longer to deliver. My latest order was a terrible consumer experience. The parts I order took over 18 days to arrive. After waiting for this extended period I unpacked my parts to find half of my order damaged. Upon requesting for an RMA I was told that I must pay the return shipping for parts that arrived damaged. No one could explain why? So I got the privileged to pay $11 to return parts I waited 18 days for. Sadly I specifically sought to purchase from Jacks because I wish to support business I do business with, they weren't the cheapest available on the internet I could have purchased elsewhere. Despite their claims for customer support my experience is that is becomingly less a priority by the management at Jack's. I will be seeking a new vendor for my regular small engine parts needs.

I am disappointed in what should have been an easy transaction. I am one day shipping from Jack's. Found the gasket I needed in stock which was awesome on their end. Talked to a salesperson and got it ordered and made sure they were shipping the same day UPS to me. Our shop air compressor is out and we can't work until it is back up an running. Today we are waiting around for it to show up, didn't show up this morning with UPS so ok, maybe it went FedEx..... NOPE someone there decided it needed to ship USPS, and guess what it is in a P.O. still in Maryland. So now since the P.O. does not deliver until late afternoon, we will not even be back up running on Monday. Thank You Jacks for saving me $2.00 in shipping and costing my thousands in work that could have gone out. Probably just going to buy a new compressor now. This could have been really easy.

Needed a part for my Echo trimmer. Found it on amazon as a prime item and ordered it Monday for Wednesday delivery. It hadn't arrived by Friday so I looked it up and it hadn't even shipped. I contacted the seller and they told me to contact amazon support. I told them that was a cop-out and canceled the order on Monday. Ordered the same part from Jack's that afternoon and was very pleasantly surprised to find it in my mailbox on Thursday. And the price with shipping was actually less than I had paid on amazon. I m notified of the back orders several days after placing the order losing those days. I ordered what I thought was a replacement frame and bag for a lawn mower. I say thought because the description said frame, bag. But all the came was the frame. So I emailed them and never heard back. When I called they told me I would have to pay another $60 to get the bag. So I did. That was on 8/4. I was told I would get a confirmation email when the bag shipped. A week later and that bag was still saying ready to be shipped . So I called and was told that the bag was supposed to be shipped on 8/5 and that they would let the warehouse know that it needed to go out that day. That night I checked the status and it was still at ready to be shipped . So I sent a email and still have not heard back, even though it says they return all emails within 24 hours. I am beyond frustrated with this company and will NEVER order from them again. So today after I work I get to call them again for the third time!!

Ordered an aerator for my lawn tractor but upon receiving and checking website I discovered it did not come with pictured tow platform which is another 164 dollars. No big deal but it appears I can't order associated tow platform without the associated aerator. Have an e-mail into customer service. Will see how this turns out. Beginning to wonder why I ordered from someone called "Jack's" as opposed to going through reputable business such as Lowe's or Home Depot. Lesson learned. Part also appears to be very complicated when it comes to assembly.
