I been gave up maybe it's not meant for me. Half of my children are grown and moved away. My point is be patient you've already been blessed with housing, everything else will fall in place.

They've cancelled All appointments for the clients to come in and pick up their voucher and they have nothing in place . All of these people who are in the process of moving could end up homeless because of your incompetentce . They won't mail the voucher and they won't EMAIL the voucher either . Seriously ? You people aren't very smart people!!!!

I have an elderly friend who lives in a rooming house in Pasadena. He applied almost 3 years ago and he often calls me to check his application status with them. His waiting list number is 750, and that means he would have to wait up to 5 years more competing with the clowns coming from out of state applying and causing a huge backlog here in Houston. I call on his behalf every 5 months and the only thing I could tell him is to be patient. The Houston Housing building itself serves no purpose, and should be closed down. Too many Lakeeshas with attitude issues work their call center.

I been out of a home with my baby's since January the complex village of piney point got paid from housing two months and I wasn't even staying there they had me locked out because they had to fix the door from being brokeninto . It's a sad situation I'm tired of struggling with the situation. Also search said hha was closed so I'm kinda confused and impatient I been homeless for years even as a teen. There are hundreds of people facing losing their housing because of this . The Housing Authority won't mail the vouchers and they won't EMAIL them either . One of the worst Housing Authorities in America. No one can ever get through. It doesn't make sense to have an automated system. I've been on hold for 20+ minutes. Been waiting for hear about my hardship form for over a month. I am sure if I owed you money it wouldn't take long to contact me, but to get some help you have people going through hell and hot water. Your facilities get an F-if there is such a thing. Everyone needs retraining and you need a call center for places like this.

So I kept calling them to let them know I needed somewhere closer, as the letter states you to do so. Never got in contact with ANYONE!!! Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful to God for allowing me to be able to get on Section 8. However, I will be even MORE grateful when I can give this program their 'services' BACK. This system is not set up to help you, but to hinder you, and then they sit on their laurels and make unmitigated assumptions about people who need this service. I tell everyone I can, if you can make it somehow WITHOUT Section 8, DO SO. It's really pathetic how the workers treat and talk to people, I'm always worried I'm going to get carted off to jail whenever I have to go in because I'm not one you can just talk to ANY OLD KIND OF WAY.
Needless to say, despise is too light a word for this program, but I don't like using the 'h' word.

Guess what, HOMEOWNERS ARE SCREWED!!. They wont be paying for the time between the inspection failure and time we fix it and inspection pass. The board of commissioners are over every county building whether it s section 8 or welfare. These people can get in trouble for not doing their job. Report them and they will contact the housing authority and investigate your issues.

Every year you have to make repairs to the property; if you are late with your repairs (one day in my case) they suspend payment even though you email their form telling them that they were completed. They also require a statement from the renter. If the renter fails to send (even though he says he did) the statement saying that the repairs were completed and need i an inspection; you DO NOT GET YOUR $$$.
You are penalize for the renters inability to follow up with an inspection. They will not pay you retroactive. So the renter is now living for free. DO NOT RENT TO SECTION 8. You will lose money and time. Also they are not keeping up with the rent prices you can get more money posting your properties online.

When removed from fraudulant lease I had to find another place to stay than to make things worser the great neighborhoods dont take vouchers. I moved in these apts I had no choice Im disabled so is my son couldnt be homeless with 2 kids. I told them there shoot its not safe and my lease was violated. I was asked why did I move there. I had no choice but than I realize this program is a waste of money and time. If you need a place to stay or need help waiting on housing is not the answer. Even with the new building and changes the program and professionalism still the same no one care to put there attitude to the side and really thrive for what the program is really for. My advice if you have family stay with them go to school get ya self together because this here is just waisted tax dollars.

You can't think that the government will pay you top dollar for a property that isn't up to par. You as the landlord has a responsibility to make sure everything is fixed & working properly for the tenant. The yearly home inspections protect the landlord/tenant. If the tenant is not taking care of the property the housing agency will know & vice versa..

Been on housing since Hurricane Katrina and I truly resent the way they treat people. No one answers the lines and you will be on hold for an hour or more. In the event of dire emergencies such as plumbing issues within properties...they do not care if you are forced to live in septic conditions for months at a time. When you live under an evident slum lord they will not even allow to break your lease to move to a better managed property. I will be so appreciative and grateful for the day I am able to give these services back. These people at the Fountain View location do NOT are about people as individuals.

I'm surprised to see a lot of negative reviews. Some landlords are complaining about not receiving payments because needed repairs weren't made. I frequent the office and receive good help and direction every time I've gone. Every single one of our units are on a voucher. When the process starts it takes about 90 days to start receiving payments but once the payments start you won't have any problems unless you're not making any needed repairs.

The caseworkers and supervisors do not reply to emails whatsoever. All the staff does is run their mouths and take their sweet little time. Not to mention, RUDE AF. Requested to port out way in the beginning of the year, and they just got around to doing it (it s November). Not only did they take over seven months to port my packet, but when they finally did it was missing information. That was mid October and they have yet to fix the mistake. Lord knows how long that ll take and I already put my 30 day notice in. Apparently they can not add. How long does it take to adjust billing? It s honestly pitiful. I had an appointment today in which I never received an appointment letter for. With that said, I was late for it, due to not having the proper address, which led to me ending up on Fannin St. rather than Fountain View Dr. I did not make it to the briefing on time. I could give multiple excuses for my tardiness but I won't. I clearly didn't know where I was going and I didn't have 100% certainty of how I would be getting there.
Therefore, I ask HHA to have mercy my situation/status as Homeless on wait list; enough to grant me a second briefing. Being apart of the Housing Choice Voucher Program means more to me than one can truly understand and for me is my only hope of stability and not traveling from shelter to shelter, relationship to abusive relationship or city to state with my children not knowing the outcome and/or time frame when we'll be moving again. Please accept this email as a formal apology:
I just feel so much guilt,
That my tardiness and actions built.
I know, what I did was wrong,
Trying not to avoid it, and be strong.

My son left his wallet with $8& change, DL, & SS card in it at the Housing office. We called up there the next day HOPING SOMEONE turned it in! SOMEONE DID! With everything still inside! THIS PLACE BOTHERS ME. I HAVE BEEN ON HOUSING SINCE MY DAUGHTER WAS LITTLE AND NOTHING IS DIFFERENT. EVERYONE THERE HAS AN ATTITUDE. THINKING THEY BETTER THEN YOU. EXCUSE ME YOU WORK BEHIND A GLASS, I HAVE MY OWN OFFICE. I RECENTLY HAD TO DEAL WITH THEM OUTSIDE OF MY REGULAR APPT. AND IT WAS A MESS. I QUIT MY PART-TIME JOB THAT WAS ONLY TO HELP ME SEND MY DAUGHTER TO A DANCE CAMP THIS SUMMER AND THEY ARE MAKING IT LIKE I JUST LEFT A MULTIDOLLAR JOB. I GUESS NEXT TIME I WILL JUST LET MY DAUGHTER SEAT IN THE HOUSE ALL SUMMER WATCHING TV. THEY SAY HERE TO HELP BUT I PAY MOST OF MY RENT THEY GIVE ME 113 TOWARDS MY 875 RENT. WHICH HELPS ME ALOT DON'T GET ME WRONG I GUESS I HATE THE PEOPLE NOT SURE IF IT IS THE JOB OR WHAT BUT NO MATTER WHO IN THERE THEY ALL HAVE BAD ATTITUDES. ON HOLD NOW FOR OVER 10 MINUTES. I MEET ONE LADY THAT WAS NICE AND ALLOWED ME TO CALL HER AND I HAVEN'T SEEN HER SINCE.
