Came to Froedtert due to a severe car accident and was treated immediately by highly skilled/knowledgeable doctors and nurses. Received the best attention and care I have ever had at a hospital, all in a timely, convenient, and friendly manor. I have nothing bad to say, except the building is hard to navigate.
I will only attend/request Froedtert for any medical need in the future.

For the fact that you didn't immediately treat a patient with chest pains and proven to have enlarged heart shows that your medical staff are ALL incapable of working their and should all be stripped of their medical license.

Extensive and prolonged experience with this facility. Big Place. Working our dysfunctional healthcare system to make one thing - Big Profits.

Not at all patient centered. It is clear that profits come before patient care and outcomes.

With that said, staff are typically kind, understanding - and very overworked. IE: ER doc advised me that I needed to see a specialist within 48 hours. Yet, scheduling advised that it would be a five week wait. Ditto for an important procedure.

Suggestion to administration: Hire more staff to meet the needs of your patients. Overall model of practice needs to shift away from profits and back to patients.

This practice is based on moving patients through their office as fast as possible to increase revenue. They change the type of visit you go to their offices for without letting you know, and increase the fee they charge without you being able to challenge it or respond.

Policy and Procedures for refill of medication is, to quote a Froedtert Employee, "BANANA's ". You must call 2 days prior to refill. If you call 3 days prior to prescription date, the refill request will be rejected. If you call 1 day prior to prescription date. The prescription may mot be filled as they have 24 -48 Hours to process your request. The clock stops over the weekend.
In my case I am now on day 5. Called in on Thursday, Friday received call that the prescription request was not recorded properly/incomplete and needed to be verified and resubmitted. I called this morning at 11:45 to check status and was told the script was on the Doctors desk waiting for approval. The doctors schedule for the day is packed and I will be notified when the doctor signs off. Hopefully sometime today or tomorrow. The Dr. is great, the procedure is BANANA's.

Worst ER ever I've been waiting in the waiting area for 4 hours now and I'm still waiting, I'm a sickle cell patient. The system they have for calling names to the back here sucks and this happens to me every time I come in with a pain crisis.
It s been 7months since I last made this review and nothing s changed I m currently in the exact same situation as before waiting four hours and counting with a sickle cell pain crisis and every one behind the counter is very rude and sarcastic when responding to, excuse me, can you tell me approximately how many hours do I have left to wait or how many people are ahead of me

Worst hospital experience I've ever had. Overcrowded. Terrible communication. Ridiculously long wait times because they are understaffed. Kick you out before you're ready because they need the room.

There are good medical professionals there. They are burried behind a mountain of bureaucracy. If you are there for primary care at the Sargent Building and require even a simple xray you will need to go to a different building. It's like a factory and getting you out the door is the priority. If you do get an appointment with a specialist you may not see them. Especially in the dermatology and gastroentrology clinics. You may have decided to drive from Appleton to Milwaukee to see a world class specialist, surprise! It was more "cost effective" for you to see someone else . You will also hear the term "Academic Medical Center" This phrase is often used to explain away inefficiencies and cade not focused on the paitent

The medical staff seems hard working and competent.
Unfortunately. all other staff I've interacted with including administrative, customer service, security, records and billing are difficult and hard to deal with. If only looking at medical treatment, Froedert is a decent hospital. Although as a whole, I would not recommend Froedert Hospital and would seek other establishments for medical attention when possible.

I am only rating a 1because a 0 is not a choice. I took my husband to the EDTC March 22, the ED doc did NOTHING! Told him it was a muscle spasm today March 25 he is still in excruciating pain, and can barely function- I now have to return to them ED - NOT FROEDTERT - to hopefully get some help for him. Neck pain and they did not even offer a soft collar, very poor practice shame on this doc; my rating for you on a graded scale F- -

I saw a physician's assistant for approx. 5 min. and was charged over $6000 ( I was a self pay by the way) after waiting almost 2 hrs to be seen. People were throwing up in the waiting room which was in bad condition anyway since it needed to be cleaned. And I also am noticing after all of these complaints on this site, some staff member gives weak apology and asks that person to contact either financial services or patient relations. What exactly are they doing to FIX the problems at this OVERPRICED facility? It's all about them getting money and doing as little as possible.

This was my first time at this facility. My mother is a resident there in Milwaukee and she had to undergo a procedure this past Wednesday which like normal made me extremely nervous..Well I found myself walking aimlessly through the hospital and realized I had no idea where I was going or how to get back to my vehicle to retrieve some extremely time sensitive documents that needed to be completed. Well after walking in circles for quite some time and attempting to stop serveral employees only to be told they didn t know and not even trying to direct me to someone who could assist. A gentleman name Ben B. who works in the Transport department, could clearly could see the panic in my face. when I asked him how to get to parking lot B he went above and beyond to not only give me the directions but walk me there just to make sure I got to where I needed to be without any problems. He apologized about my experience and even asked me how my day was. He was able to quickly turn my experience from the biggest nightmare to one I ll never forget.
He definitely went above and beyond his call of duty and really made this a truly memorable experience. This is what you call excellent customer service! Thanks Ben B.

Terrible billing practices. I received a bill from 3 different companies for one procedure referred through froedtert. I just received 2 bills for one account and even though I set up a payment plan and make my payments on time every month I am getting "final notices" and threatened with collections. As someone who has anxiety this is extremely stressful and disturbing. I will be calling the BBB.

Save yourself the stress and choose a different provider.

Billing with Froedtert is a nightmare. First, let me say that the care I received was fine. However, billing is another story. Froedtert codes all regular doctor's visits as hospital visits just because it's within the same complex as a hospital. This causes problems with some insurance companies. Mine, for example, won't pay a hospital visit until my deductible is met. I think this seems pretty reasonable from an insurance company standpoint. So, Froedtert charged me my out-of-pocket copay the day of my doctor's visit, and then they tried to bill my insurance for a hospital visit. This seems borderline fraudulent to me. Between my wife and I, we must have spent at least ten hours between the two of us on the phone with Froedtert billing over the course of several months trying to resolve this. We spoke to managers, filed appeals, and did a three-way call with our insurance carrier. Our policy is clear that we should only pay a copay for the doctors visit; yet we are being charged additional costs for a hospital visit. In the end, Froedert dug their heels in and wouldn't change the code for us. So, we are forced to pay an unnecessary bill. Needless to say, we will be going to another clinic and changing primary care physicians. I suspect we are not the only people this is happening to. Others may not realize it, specifically if their deductible is already met.

UPDATE: Froedert's only response thusfar has been to respond to my reviews offering to connect me with financial services, as you can see below; inferring the reason for my issue is a financial hardship on my end. This is a further insult to the matter as I have no issues paying the bills. It also shows Froedert's blatant lack of disregard for their customers. I held off on paying my bills hoping for resolution. I have since paid the bill to avoid collections. However I plan on continuing my efforts to correct the wrongs with Froedert's coding/billing, for everyone's sake of not being wrongfully over billed.

I would give them a 5 solely because the nurses and doctors are amazing but if I could just rate for their billing department it would be a 1. I received a bill for $1,120 after I paid off all of my accts and when I called asking why I got the statement they said the one lump sum payment I made was applied to services rendered mainly in 2016. When I looked back at my statements the only 2016 invoice date was for Dec 19th. If there was invoices that were not paid for yet, no matter what the date, it should be on every statement until it is paid off. When I went online to make the main lump payment it only showed I owed $2,431. Now, because of their mess up I have to come up with $1,120 after already paying $14,000 to them this year. I am extremely upset and now will rethink where I take my services!

Avoid Froedtert at all costs! I called for an estimate ahead of time and was billed a lot more. I wrote down who I talked to, the date, and the time that I called for the estimate. They record all calls, but conveniently can't find that one. I was told that I should have gotten it in writing, but this was my first time at Froedtert; therefore, I didn't have access to MyChart at that time. I've been trying to get this fixed for months by calling, messaging on MyChart, and even writing to their Chief Experience Officer. They refuse to adjust the bill and are threatening to send it to collections. I will be paying the bill to protect my credit score, but I'll never go to Froedtert again.

Birthing Center is top notch. Nurses actually care, and it makes all the difference. Can't say enough about Joanna and the whole birthing center experience there. Doesn't get any better than what Froedtert provides, in terms of quality and care

Horrible hospital. Somebody could be having a heart attack right in front of the doctors and they would still make you wait. I hope this hospital gets shut down and sued. Waiting times should not be 2 hours!!

I have had nothing but kind, personable, friendly professional service since I first began going to Froedert Hospital and clinics in the early 90's. I have an awesome primary doctor, gynecologist team, breast cancer team and more all in convenient locations. Thanks for all that you do to keep these bodies on track.

Overall I was very disappointed with the care I received from Froedtert. I had a leg injury that I sustained and went to the ER to receive an X-Ray as it was very painful and I heard a snap. Upon taking the X-Ray they told me it was not fractured, rather I was likely just experiencing tendinopathy (sore/inflamed tendon). I was sure that was not the case but I trusted their judgement and had a follow up in their Sports Medicine department. They referred me to get an MRI which further showed a stress fracture. I was given a boot as treatment, however it remained very painful. About 3 weeks post injury I saw a new Dr. at Froedtert who re-evaluated my original X-ray and pretty clearly saw a tibial fracture (not tendinopathy). Additional x-rays were taken to confirm a tibial fracture. At this point I was very frustrated with the level of care I had received and submitted a billing dispute for the original x-ray. After months stuck in review they declined my dispute and because so much time had elapsed while my dispute was stuck in THEIR review, they sent my payment to collections. Overall it was a very frustrating experience and the negligence to review x-rays correctly the first time snowballed into more money out of my pocket, and likely a longer recover period for my injury. I would not recommend.

I have been a patient, or customer if you will sin...

I have been a patient, or customer if you will since it is a business, of Froedtert Hospital since 1998.
As with all things, especially with your own health, you have to be proactive and extremely informed about your illness.

That being said, just because your doctor has a M.D. behind their name does not make them "God",
if you at any time have questions or do not understand what a doctor or nurse are telling you, or what they are going to do to you, then before you allow them to, question it, ask what, where, why, it is your right as a patient/customer!

Most of my experiences with Froedtert Hospital have been pleasant, I have Crohn's Disease, so over the years I have had the pleasure of being hospitalized there.

Please note that when I have had a problem and called "Patient Relations" I have found them to be totally useless! The reason being is that they work for Froedtert Hospital and not the "Patient's"!
I went so far as to try to resolve my problem by speaking directly with the C.E.O. of Froedtert Hospital, because at every other level below her I was getting unsatisfactory answers to my delima, which I wanted resolved!

To resolve my problem I was told by the C.E.O., the following:

I was told that my primary doctor was to arrange a meeting with all my doctors in one room at one time to discuss my rare illness, because that's what I wanted, I had felt a little lost since my Gastroenterologist, Dr. David Binon, was allowed to be stolen from Froedtert and moved to Philadelphia.

Unfortunately, my primary care doctor never received the memo, and I have not decided, to who I will go next with my complaint, for as a patient/customer, I believe that the insurance company should be made aware and investigate prior to making payment for sevices when patient's needs are not being meet, or possibly the news would like a interesting story from a intelligent well documented patient/customer about the other side of Froedtert!

The insulting thing is that when I spoke with the C.E.O.'s secretary, and they are trained to try to get rid of calls they believe to be of no consequence, I mentioned about all the new buildings revolving around "Cancer" and "Heart", basically the money making illnesses, and I asked when they were going to pay homage to "Crohn's" patient's and build a building specifically for the research and devotion to curing crohn's disease.

I was told out right in a condescending manner, that patients do not die from Crohn's!
I myself, almost died from crohn's disease, so this individuals lack of information dealing with the subject, being in her position was totally unacceptable!

I am fortunate, because I have wonderful doctors at Froedtert, because I have control of my health and I am the one who is in charge of the communication between my doctors and myself!

I also find it insulting, for I have read the other review, and the answers you give back to the patients/customers are automated, there is no real feeling or real concern about what they have said, as there will really be no real concern in regards to what I have written!!!!!!
Respectfully,
Ms. Pianka

Froedtert ER physicians are awesome. Froedtert nurses are awesome. However, if you arrive there undiagnosed, DANGER! Their " academic" model of diagnosing is scary and flawed. Head west to University Hospital Madison Or Mayo clinic. Your life may depend on it.
Every Monday, a new team of residents and attendings take over. Start again at square 1. They use the "shotgun" approach to order tests, hoping something will reveal itself. Very costly. No coordination of when labs and tests should be done. No concensus among attending and consultants. They do not include the patient's nurse in grand rounds, and communication with patient and family is lacking. There is a lack of quarterback leadership to inspire the team. Lots of egos, but not critical review of what is best medical practice, and best decision for the patient. Other academic medical centers actually make a plan, and communicate and work with other specialists, and communicate clearly with patient, family, and the patients own nurse.

they killed my brother. He came is from an MVA by flight for life and had a severely damaged liver as well as multiple broken bones. They proceeded to have 9 surgeries in 4 days on broken bones ranging from 9 to 12 hours long on a damaged liver knowing his body most likely couldn't take it and in the process killed him. If they would have waited on the other surgeries untill his liver healed he may be still alive today GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE

WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN AN ER. I came in for a back injury and severe pain shooting down my leg and numb tingling in my arm. 8/10 for pain. They gave me what was equivalent to an icy hot patch and didnt even look at my back before deciding to send me home. My and my husband were in that ER for 5 hours! Only saw a nurse once. And the doctor said oh nothing to worry about. I've been writhing in pain for a week and finally decided to get checked out. I would have been better off at home.... GO TO WEST ALLIS HOSPITAL. Amazing every single time! Dont waste your time...

I chose to have my first child at children s here and now after my experience I will not be coming back. I have had a wonderful OB through this pregnancy and have complications and have been high risk. My OB made me confident that I chose the right hospital for delivery and now after my first born I will not be coming back with any pregnancy. I was planned to be induced tonight at 10pm due to complications with my pregnancy. My OB called to ensure everything would be set and okay and ready for me and I was told it was. I get a call 30 minutes on my way to the hospital from a woman in labor and delivery telling me they have no room for me. You re a huge hospital. It s completely unprofessional to set something up and last second call while I m in the car coming from over a half an hour away to tell me to go home and call when I wake up and maybe it ll be ready. I m being induced for concerns with gestational hypertension and polyhydramnios. After this delivery I m done with coming here. Hopefully by morning I m not going to be told once again I can t come in. Best part is this is not the first time I ve had problems. I ve had nurses not be comforting or helpful. FYI being a first time mom high risk for preeclampsia and then to end up with other conditions leading to me being induced and being told by nurses on the phone all my concerns were normal part of pregnancy well It all ended up not being normal. Again. My OB was wonderful and I d suggest her. Very caring. Very professional and extremely helpful and understanding. But as for labor and delivery this will be my first and last child being delivered at the children s location. Like I said hopefully I m not told a second time I can t be induced.

Never shall we return! The nurse taking my really sick mothers vitals, rolls her eyes straight at my mom and says to her, ma am there s a lot of other ppl here in worse pain than you. And walked away. My mom was crying slightly because she was in pain. How dare this nurse insult her/us like that.

Update 5/21/19:

Update 5/21/19:
I don t understand the point of someone contacting me if the person is telling there is nothing can be done because Froedtert has horrific practices and wants their patients in hospital debt. Lynn C. is supposedly a manager told me that there are records and phone calls of the hospital trying to contact me but I when ask for those documentations, she said she can t give it to me. I love how she can pull up all kinds of things but when I asked months ago to send me statements and such to another representative, oh there s nothing there. I am so done and frustrated with this group personally.

Old Review:

First I would like to say that the billing department is just ridiculously and how they said so many different statements from 3 groups within the company and did not combine them from the beginning. I now have a bill that was sent to collections and nothing can be done apparently but the hospital can take what I already paid for and my insurance money for horrible service. I never had nothing sent to collections before and this is ridiculous! The services are subpar at best and unfortunately I can t switch my insurance which is cater only to the Froedtert group till next year. Next year, I will not go back to Froedtert.

If you have any kind of immediate health issue, DON'T GO TO FROEDTERT EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT !!!!!! They dont have the staff or the intelligence to treat you in any kind of emergency situation. Upon arrival, your body and property is searched and then you walk though a metal detector (Doesn't matter if you are screaming or crying in pain, you still are searched). Then you get checked in only to be told that you have to wait 8 hours to be taken in the back. Once you are in back, it takes another 30 to 45 minutes for a nurse and doctor to start treating you. I went to the Emergency department after I had surgery done because they didnt prescribe me any pain medicine.i was in 8/10 pain scale, I call the clinic first to see if they would prescribe me anything, nope, I had to waste more insurance money and my time in misery to go to an Emergency Department that wouldn't fix their own hospitals mistake . You dont get sliced open and something shoved into your body without being in pain, Have some damn compassion FROEDTERT instead of worrying about your pocketbook!!!

I had trouble getting in to see my primary doctor so went into Er/urgent care 3 seperate times. Each time no blood work was done no scans were done. Was pretty much told I was just there to get pain meds. Finally got to my doctor and was told i had a major bacterial infection which had spread. Two weeks in the hospital could have been prevented if froedert had just done a few simple blood tests or a ct scan.....

My vacation was interrupted by a surprise allergic reaction to ibuprofen and this urgent care was simply the best. The nurses and doctors went above and beyond to serve my needs and were very professional. The only downside of this whole experience is that I can't receive such great care like this back at home.

99% of the time it is nearly impossible to get a hold of the correct department you are trying to reach even if you know the number of the place you are trying to reach. Usually no one answers, and then you are stuck trying to call a generic number and they are never give you the correct number and you end up being transferred over and over. Even receptionists don't know the correct numbers of the departments. Absolutely dread having to deal with this...communication is vital in health care. Get it right

Dr Sonnenberg failed to diagnose an obvious case of gout and instead wasted time and money with x-rays that I did not need. She refused to provide any treatment and sent me away in pain to find a PCP. For the record, I have insurance, pay my bills, and was not seeking any pain medicine. Don't waste your money at their Emergency Room as they don't treat your illness.

I recently underwent surgery at Froedtert Hospital to correct Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Ruba Khader and the whole Team at the Oral Maxillofacial Clinic. Dr. Khader and her Team have been respectful, caring, and compassionate from my very first appointment through my post surgical care. I have a number of medical concerns that made it necessary to consult with Hematology, Pulmonology and High Risk Anesthesiology prior to my surgery. Dr. Khader and her Team put together a comprehensive plan of care, that enabled me to be fully informed and put my mind at complete ease prior to undergoing what was for me, a surgery that contained great risk for complications. I now have 6-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night, and I am no longer snoring. I have not slept this well in almost 25 years. I have also significantly decreased my risk for potential complications of Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I am in the healthcare field myself, and because of this, I have very high expectations for the healthcare that I receive. Dr. Khader and her Team far exceeded my expectations. Thank-you!

Do not go to Froedtert Hospital For a Kidney Transplant. I am in need of a Kidney Transplant, I went in January of this year for a evaluation the Financial Liaison Nancy Gaska did not know what my insurance covered so I had a unnecessary delay for my testing. I tried to explain to her what my insurance covered and She told me I was wrong. The Nurse Jamie is one of most incompetent Nurse's I have ever met. the Psychologist Dr. Price is did not listen to a word I said. I have brought these concerns to supervisor's and they have done nothing. they will quote you policy but when You ask to see it they don't have it in writing. my view on the staff of this hospital are they are one of the most uncaring, uncompassionate, unaccountable staff at a hospital I have ever met. I highly recommend if you still choose to go to this Hospital that you document, and recorded everything.

This was the worst ever do not want to ever visit the emergency room was more concerned about my copay them my health I waited over 6 hours and still didn't see the doctor staff were rude to me and my family so worried about my family id then my health never again will I go I pray you don't come as well 0 stars for Froedtert hospital.

It's been 2 months no one has got back with me regarding this post. I took the steps as I was told to about experience but no follow up don't go to froedtert ER.

Tried to schedule an appointment in the Spine Care Center and after spending 40 mins on the phone registering my information I get transferred back to the spine care center intake department to get told I cannot see a specialist at Froedtert because my primary general practitioner is at another facility although my insurance covers care at Froedtert. I thought it was my right to choose a doctor within my coverage. They just don't want to take people on badger care... after reading more reviews It seems like alot of patients are overcharged beyond what their insurance covers without consent. They also ask questions about race and religion on the intake registeration!

They give very in depth guidance to my local oncol...

They give very in depth guidance to my local oncologists on front line oncological techniques from the beginning of Froedtert being in charge of my treatments.
I actually receive most of my care through Green Bay Oncology in a branch in Escanaba, Mi. I have learned to think highly of them throughout my care as well as Freodtert. Green Bay Oncology in Escanaba has very heartfelt doctors especially Dr. Ryan, and NP Darcy Ghetzloff. The Docs and nurses there make sure you are always comfortable for treatment, and they base they're treatment to the tee by Freodtert's direction.
Before I was diagnosed by Green Bay, I thought I was just having back pain problems from my career as a truck driver. After seeing my family practitioner and giving a little time off to heal I happened to have my oncology checkup during my time off(just lucky it worked out that way).
I had this checkup because it was a routine after I had bone cancer (Ewing's Sarcoma) while I was 12-13 that had been free and clear since 2000 because of the care from Green Bay Oncology back then, and throughout the last nearly two decades.
My new oncology visit had evaluated that I was having issues in my SI Joint, possibly caused by the radiation from my radiation therapy in 2000.
They set me up with physical therapy specialists who work with oncology patients on a regular basis.
After two weeks of PT it seemed my pain issues had gotten worse, so GB oncology sent me for xrax and a CT of the areas surrounding my pain issues. They found some abnormal tissue that needed to be biopsied.
After biopsy they had found that I have a tumor in the upper left quadrant of my sacrum (the base of your spine just above the tailbone), and also a few small 4-5mm spots in my lungs. The tests came back from the biopsy and showed that I have a general Sarcoma of the bone tissue that had metastasized to surrounding soft tissue, and into my lungs.
It was quite devistating news for my wife and I, GB oncology set me up for a series of in home phone calls during this process so that I could speak to a guidance councilor to help ease my stress through the process of finding out, and while planning my treatment plan.
I know there's a lot here on GB, but there's a lot about Freodtert's care to come up here shortly.
So after all of the information came back to my oncologists they organized a "Tumor Board" of their best oncologists to determine my best route for care.
They decided that it was up to me on what I wanted to do. I could go to Mayo Clinic, or Freodtert hospital. I had never heard of Freodtert hospital, but they highly suggested that they are the best for my particular situation.
So wet went down for our first appointment at Freodtert to see with three oncological specialists. The team I would see was chemo oncologist Dr. Charleston, Oncological surgeon Dr. King, and a radiation treatment oncologist that ended up not being part of my treatment plan.
I was extremely happy with the chemo regimen that they'd come up with. The tactic, reduce my sacral tumor size so that they could do an ablation (chemical freezing) of the tumor and a nerve that was causing me excruciating pain that couldn't be controlled by ANY pain meds we tried. It was only at one point controlled by having an epidural! Then also putting for screws in my sacrum that had fractures in three places from the tumor expanding my bone before I was able to start treatment.
After the surgeries at Freodtert, week by week my pain reduced. Now two months out from that, with the help of PT and an ankle brace, my worst pain days are very low pain, and I've started a new therapy since I've completed my chemotherapy treatment. It stops my tumors from creating new capillaries, so it effectively stops tumor growth by starving Only the tumor!
I would write so much more of I could, running out of characters. Freodtert always made be feel comfortable before doing anything, and if you ever have to stay in for any reason, their care teams are amazing. Thank you All!

Had a kidney transplant there in Nov. 2015. The drs., nurses and staff were amazing. The most caring and knowledgeable folks that I have ever met in the medical profession. And, they spent time with you instead of the usual 15 minutes you sometimes get from other medical areas.

Called at a desk to leave a message for my specialist 4 times until they finally answered and told me to tell my primary doctor. I'm pretty they never told the doctor. Also everytime I go to the ER within the pass three years I was suppose to get an IV (was told by nurses and doctors ) but never would get one. I would ask if I still was suppose to and they either wouldn't answer or they would be like "Yes hold on." Usually feel worse leaving then when I go in. The IV thing seems to be common at a lot of hospitals around here. I don't know what happened but the hospitals have gone down in this city and neighboring areas within the pass three years. I use to really like Froedtert but now I only like certain people at Froedtert.

I went there three time all time was for minor injuries and sit in hospital fo r over three hours with little help. It seems like they just sit there and when you called them they had the nerve to be mad cause you in pain . Going here it's a waste of a bill, because that's what they really want

It would be 5 stars if 2 employees of yours tonight weren't being ethical, honest, or professional. Froedtert is huge so one review may not stop you from enabling these employees to grieving families over the phone, but I really hope with your mission and vision, that you take this seriously. I called for an update on my father. I'm at work and he isn't answering his phone, so I called to speak with the nurse. I greeted Jessica by saying my name and you guys have documents on file to give me an update, That's it. Well, she could've said "i'm in with a patient right now. Let me call you back" or maybe "switch you to a nurse that can help at this time." Either would have been respectable and responsible.
However, she said she cannot give me information until she speaks to my dad. I quickly reminded her that's what legal documentation is for. Asked for an update again. She told me the same thing over and over until I asked for her supervisor because I never have been treated so rudely at Memorial while he has diabetic foot issues.
She started to get stern with me becuase she didn't like the call and finally said she's in a room with a patient. Again, she could easily say "I'll get back to you soon" or "let me transfer you" but NOT LIE TO ME OR TAKE A SECOND TO READ THE SCREEN THAT SAYS I AM THE PERSON TO TALK TO whether he can speak or not, that's what a legal document is for. She was surprised I asked for a supervisor and hesitated.

Well, I called right back, asked for the sup. Left my number. To my amazement, the supervisor was unethical, lying, enabling, and unprofessional as she says "Well that's ok" when i told her that the worker said this and didn't talk to me or budge; she said "it's ok" that she did that!!!!! WHAT? no, no that cannot go on to treat others the way i was treated tonight.

This is what you have working for you. If they get talked to, they will make excuses to keep their profession untarnished, but that's what they've been doing all this time potentially. I take a stand for the 'little guy' in life and this is unacceptable. Completely unacceptable that I did my part with your hospital on documentation, and was treated poorly while I';m worried about my only father I have.

I wonder what excuses those girls will come up with, but this needs to cease and 'ok' behavior.

My wife was admitted to Froedtert over Christmas with a severe fever and infection. The care she received, from the ER receptionist, the ER resident, attending physician, ER nurses, the Pavilion 4 attending physician and nurses, the occupational and physical therapists and all the assistants was exemplary. They were all compassionate and professional. Not a great place to spend Christmas but everyone there did everything possible to help us. Thanks to all.

This review is for neurology. I was seen by both a resident and attending physician (at the same time). I was very open about my trauma history and also very clear that I had never experienced symptoms like these before. I do not have a history of doctor seeking. I stay away from doctors like the plague. I don't respect most of them and as a trans person most doctors treat me like garbage anyways.

Because I was open about my trauma history (severe child abuse) and the fact that I'm trans, the doctors treated me like I was mentally ill (I am very much in my right mind, very intelligent, and studying to be a P.A. although I didn't tell them the last bit). They suggested nothing for my symptoms of numbness at three different places in my body, symptoms that persisted for 3 months. The doctor asked if I was depressed - - yeah, because all this is actually some kind of conversion disorder because people somatize anxiety as numbness quite often...NOT

If you need to go into neurology for anything, please lie about your sensitive identities. Don't expect enlightened doctors or staff at Froedtert. My time and money are very valuable to me and because I took a chance I now have to spend more time and money to get a second option from a doctor who will actually look into my very alarming and very real symptoms.

Total, and complete, waste of my time. Shame on you, Froedert. Another incident with another couple of doctors for the notches on my belt...

Go elsewhere seriously. Save your sanity. The REVIEWS are SPOT on. Do a simple search and READ first. Went and found out myself first hand. Horrible experience. Please don't bother to reply David (automated). I've already called your HOTLINE only to get a longer run around. No thanks from me.

I typically don't leave reviews but after the experience my mom and dad had yesterday, I feel obligated too. My Dad had cardiac ablation surgery yesterday that lasted about 5 hours. He was out of surgery around 1pm and then headed to recovery. He needed to stay overnight since the surgery is pretty extensive. Typically patients spend about an 1 or so in recovery. My dad was in recovery for 7 and a half hours until 8:30 pm because they couldn't find a bed for him!!! Also, the doctor who did his surgery never greeted him before the surgery or checked in on him or my mom after the surgery. I know doctors are extremely busy but I find this ridiculous and insensitive. At the end of the night when we were still in recovery, the nurses were complaining they couldn't go home yet because there were patients still in recovery - probably shouldn't complain right in front of the patients who can clearly hear you. The one thing that went well was the surgery because he is out recovering but there are some things that were very disappointing that Froetert should continue to have process improvement for.

Was told to go to the ER by my primary physician because of chest and neck pain along with numbness in my left arm. Never been so degraded!! I was given something for low potassium then a few minutes later was given some pain meds for the extreme chest pain. No information as to why I had a problem with my potassium or any othe symptoms nor was I given a consult on how I can avoid it!! Few minute later I was told here is your discharge papers any questions. I ask what could be wrong with me all to be told if your condition is not life threatening then we cannot do anything for you but refer you to your primary care. So unprofessional to the level of disrespect!! I could not even get my damn discharge paper work explained to me!!! My blood pressure was high and guess what I never knew until I got home and read it!! Was stated that I need to see someone for it. Wow right?? Do they not regulate blood pressures before they discharge? Oh I forgot it is not LIFE THREATENING!! The real question is If it was high for any reason (due to pain as they say) why wasn t I told??? I will never ever go here again voluntarily! Will be calling my insurance company to inform them of this type of unprofessional health care.

I will never go back. Never heard of you take there payment plan or they will see you in court. I have doctor bills here that are happy to take 50.00 to 100.00 dollars a month. Not them..They should just be glad I'm willing to work with them and not file Bankruptcy,.

I had went into the ER Friday night due to severe pain in my back and neck, which I had already gone to urgent care for, but had not gotten any relief from for more than 24 hours later, as well as starting to have numbness in my hand and up my arm. I waited in the ER for over 5 hours to see a doctor to which they treated me as if I was a bum off the street, pill seeking, because I ask for what had worked for me to even allow me to go sit in the ER for 5 hours. They had assumed that I did not have insurance because the person had not been in to get my private insurance information. They sent in a social worker because I did not have a primary care physician, only because I have recently moved to this area, and they did not see my insurance on file. This social worker set me up with an appointment at a clinic for people without insurance. When I called to cancel this appointment, since I'm going to go see my dad's spine specialist (as he has major spine issues prior to his passing), they told me that I did not have an appointment set up. The resident was at first kind, until after the attending, Dr. Lenz, came in. After that they both treated me very poorly. I have never in my life had treatment so horrible, this hospital should be ashamed of how they're treating people!

I hesitate even giving 1 star.

I hesitate even giving 1 star.
I have always heard good things about Froedtert. But this is my troublesome experience.
My daughter was in extreme pain due to her wisdom teeth coming in and one is pushing on a nerve. The orthodontics indicated to get the wisdom teeth out asap as another one couldn't come through because a molar was in the way also causing extreme pain and having her teeth move after having braces for 4 years and spending $5,000 on those braces.
She was referred to Froedtert and they indicated because of her insurance they couldn't get her in for 8 months. I called right back just inquiring about an appt and told them a different insurance and they miraculously had an appt available in 3 weeks. The nurse indicated that it depends on the insurance when you get in. SO IF YOU GO TO FROEDTERT JUST KNOW, IT DOESN'T MATTER THE MEDICAL SITUATION IT ONLY MATTERS WHAT INSURANCE YOU HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great hospital, with amazing staff. Just due to its large scale it is confusing to navigate. Friend had a two week stay in their NICU and they took excellent care of him. Gift shop is nice, but like every hospital expensive.

My girlfriend was take by ambulance from the Drexel location to the one water town plank road because of side effect from a pregnancy shot was there for 7 hours, saw 3 different doctors 2 of which told her they would right back to do tests and then never returned and the 3 Rd one came in and sent her. Nothing was done!!! She still is in the same condition, it is unbelievable and disgusting how this happened is absolutely unexcusable!

Terrible service and a waste of time. I tried to order a $50 bouquet for my wife's b day, who works at this hospital, and they were either too lazy or too ignorant to figure out where they needed to go, and essentially told me "I'm sorry, I can't help you" which mean I don't want to help you. She then argued with me that my wife doesn't work there, and that I don't know what I am talking about. Are you serious? You know where my wife works better than me!? I would have been ordering more through them in the future, but now I will never use them and I would encourage you to look elsewhere as well. If you are interested in terrible customer service, they are the place to call!

Came in at 1am with chest and and tongue pain. Told the triage nurse that I felt light headed with shortness of breath (after I patiently waited 4 hours and still wasn t seen!)
The triage nurse told me I didn t meet the requirements to get brought back and i have to wait till my name is called. My whole face is swollen you would think since I m telling them I m having shortness of breath and it feels like my tongue is closing my throat I would be brought back. I guess I would have to die first before any care would be shown. REALLY HORRIBLE NONCHALANT STAFF

Getting a referral to go through to neuroscience i...

Getting a referral to go through to neuroscience is nearly impossible.

It has been almost two weeks since you doctor first started trying to get me referred to Froedtert. My doctor had sent the referral request with my labs and medical records to Froedtert (all together) four different times over the course of a week and a half to the three different fax numbers they were given. My doctor was given a different fax number each time we asked if they got the fax that says it went through. After a total of a week and a half, Froedtert claims they only got the referral and are still waiting on the medical records to come through. My doctor sent the medical records again to all three fax numbers, including the on on the top of the fax sheet they got back, and Froedtert still claims they haven't received them. And I was told that if they do ever receive them they first have to get scanned in, then the doctors have to review them and then it will take another 48 hours for them to call me to set up my first appointment, if they decide they want to help me at all that is.

Neuroscience division has the rudest receptionists and they apparently can't figure out what their fax number is, and either throws away faxes or never checks it. I don't get why I have to be in the middle passing messages between Froedtert and my doctor. Why can't they call and talk to each other directly and get this figured out? A referral should not take two weeks before that first call to the patient to set up an appointment.

Went to Froedtert Hospital in February. Never received a bill until a month ago from bill collection mind you its it's September. Then this week another bill from collection . They never sent me a bill or called. Unbelievable

I am horrified with the way we were treated, and lack of empathy/ compassion but more so (concern) that was shown by one particular 1st shift/RN staff member. Her whole demeanor was rude, and unprofessional. I am appauld that an indiviual in the nature of working (especially) in the healthcare field, is made to make individual's who are already in dire stress, physically, mentally and emotionally to feel even worse.

My visit was with an eye doctor named Dr Simons. He walked backwards down the hallway and into the exam room with me following him. My immediate thought was how much I hated seeing my medical eye doctor performing circus tricks. It took him 3 minutes to perform the entire exam. He then stated the prescription for my eyeglasses is upfront. I literally said to him, wait I'm here because I'm having significant vision changes. I began to question him on my symptoms. I have an autoimmune disorder. I have dry eyes and my eyesight has gradually worsened. I persisted in my questions. He could answer only one question. That was no, I don't have cataracts. Funny thing, that wasn't one of my questions. I had researched about my disorder and about dry eyes. So I knew there could be long term effects from having dry eyes. He told me there wasn't. He actually pretended he didn't hear two of my questions. I'm assuming he didn't have the answers to those questions or he simply did not care. I realized the circus tricks were a diversion. A poor attempt to distract me from recognizing his lack of knowledge and his lack of care. I have had to make an appointment with yet another opthalmologist. This visit was a waste of time and money. This type of doctor causes patients further harm and eats up thousands of dollars in wasted insurance payments. If you need only a prescription for eyeglasses or need to be diagnosed with cataracts then this clown is a perfect choice. PS the technician actually administered the vision testing that led to the prescription. His sole purpose was to explain I did not have cataracts. Well done.

I am overly frustrated in dealing with the appointment scheduling staff. I normally receive my medical treatment by doctors affiliated with Aurora Medical Centers. Due to a very unique disorder, I have had to use a doctor with Froedtert. It took multiple phone calls to make the actual appointment. First call to scheduling at Froedtert - I am told there is an issue with my insurance and they refuse to schedule the appointment. I call the insurance company, they can find no problem. Second call to scheduling at Froedtert - I explain the previous call about my insurance. I am told there never was an issue with my insurance company and she can find no reason that I was told there was a problem. But she refuses to make an appointment without a diagnosis code. I call my referring physician and acquire a diagnosis code. Third call to Scheduling at Froedtert - I explain my previous call about the need for a diagnosis code. I am told I did not need the diagnosis code. I only need to give the name of my disorder. And finally I have an appointment. I would also like to add that every call I made to scheduling at Froedtert I was required to recite address, phone, date of birth and confirm my insurance. Normally I have no issue with this requirement but I had a problem with three times in one day. Now I have been referred to see two other specialty departments at Froedtert. I need sunshine, love and a free day in order to call these people again. If I had any other option available to me, other than Froedtert, I would totally use it.

July 22, 2017 I suddenly had extreme head and neck pain that was nothing like I've ever felt before. I called 911 and was taken to St Marys. They briefly saw me and sent me to Froedtert as they were better able to handle my condition. I had a brain aneurysm that ruptured. Dr. Fitzsimmons put a coil in my head via an artery, which obviously is an extremely delicate procedure that is no simple task. A few days later I woke up in a room at Froedtert and was told what had happened as the last thing I remembered was going to St Mary's. For about two weeks I was at Froedtert resting. The staff was so kind and caring. They couldn't have done anything better. The food was so delicious too! The French toast was one of my favorites. Well after finally getting home I decided to Google what all happened to me, looking up the terms used on my discharge papers. I hadn't fully realized until then the extent of what happened. Dr. Fitzsimmons and his team absolutely saved my life and did a miracle! Most people die from a ruptured brain aneurysm and those that survive will almost certainly have physical or mental impairments and sometimes both. I have neither. I think, move and feel exactly the same as I did before this happened. I first thank God for His grace but without Dr. Fitzsimmons and the awesome people at Froedtert, I would be dead or living only with the help of others, probably not able to care for myself. How do you say thank you for another chance at life? May God bless all of the wonderful caring people at Froedtert! ! THANK YOU ALL!

Complete lack of communication with the family and the doctors!!! They pitch a team approach but it's far from any team I've ever seen. Patients are not notified of test results or given answers when asked. If you go you better have an advocate or you will be lost. If you ever have a major medical issue seek a second opinion your life could depend on it.

Been here for 15 hours and just see a doctor now who s orders in the chart have not been followed so we are starting at the beginning again. Needless to say poor communication and laziness all around. What are charts for if not to be reviewed and followed. Dirty facilities and incompetent ER triage nurses and receptionist.
