I bought a Trail Camera on E-Bay that did not work.For me to know it took a few months. I contacted the seller and he was kind enough to refund my money. The only problem was I never received the money back from E-Bay $100.00 even after talking with them many times on the phone they stated that they sent to money to the credit card company (MasterCard) that issued the gift card..Tossed the card ..Never saw the money again...Three years later I purchase a E-Bay gift card, just $25.00 ...Should be no problem right? Wrong, because you need to have a Pay-Pal account and give them your credit card number just too use their gift cards.Yep! You see they don't tell you that when you buy the gift card! It's not on the back of the card either. So I just took the gift card back to Safeway where I bought it and guess what they won't give me a refund either. As far as I'm concerned E-Bay and Pay-Pal are dishonest companies that engage in deceptive business practices and I'll never trust them and never do business with them again deleting my account.

If you sell a item and buyer said Item not as described (when it is), The seller has to pay the shipping return, refund the money and oh wait best part the buyer can send you anything back (not the item you sold them) and eBay will do nothing about it. Then you also get the negative feedback from the buyer.
You contact customer service who say "We are aware this is most likely a scammer but there nothing we can do and you feedback stay as it is".
So both eBay and Paypal have made there money from the sale of your goods and you get nothing apart from loosing money and a bad rap.

I am a Chromatic Coffee fan and lover of coffee (especially good quality coffee). I tend to purchase iced coffee more because I either burn my mouth on hot coffee or wait too long and then it s lukewarm. So I prefer iced but not a cold brew that is so strong/bitter/dense that it gives me an instant coffee headache, nor an iced coffee that is much too diluted or watered down. Chromatic gets it just right, every time. And their art is always fun to look at (also makes excellent unique one of a kind gifts for your favorite coffee lovers).
So I was pleasantly surprised to see that EBay has a pop up cafe on site. I had got to the location early for my meeting to miss the Silicon Valley traffic (the struggle is real a twenty minute drive can take a few hours if you drive at the wrong time). I also didn t mind waiting for my meeting with a Chromatic Iced Coffee in my hand and seat in the sunshine. Also made me think more positively of EBay as I have a very positive opinion of Chromatic and their involvement in the community and local business (made me think this could also be if value to EBay, shared sense of appreciation for art and community). I also really liked to see a mega business like EBay supporting and promoting a small and local business such as Chromatic.
So if you have a meeting on campus at EBay and you love coffee (or local art and business) head over a few hours early and check out the pop up.

Been using Ebay for many years... initially as a buyer, then as an individual seller and ultimately as a business seller. The 1-star reviews from sellers are correct. Seller support is dismal. Customer service is off-shore and have virtually no understanding of how Ebay works or how to fix anything... including the product catalog, the difference between "products" and "listings", the difference between product reviews and seller feedback, etc. Each time I call, it's like educating a 10-year old on the eBay basics. And they rarely can understand any remotely technical problem. I had hoped eBay would be better than Amazon for our business, but they are both equally and miserably poor for sellers. I guess we have little choice but to focus on directing all sales back through our website.

Ebay does not listen or care about your opinion, and they create horrible business practices for anyone who sells through them, allowing dishonest buyers to take advantage. In the three months since I wrote this review eBay has accidentally deleted my store and would not admit responsibility or fix it for two weeks. After calling every day a rep finally fixed it in about two minutes with no issue. For two weeks they said it could not be corrected. Tonight I was HUNG UP ON by a customer service rep. What a disgrace this company is to sellers and buyers.

eBay has the worst customer support on the planet, and there's seller's on here who is scamming people and ripping them off all the time, and I've made report after report with eBay filing complaints about these seller's, but nothing ever happens to them, but yet when I confronted one of the seller's, he call's eBay and complains about me confronting him, so they put a 3 day restriction on my account, and since I've had my account on eBay, which I opened in 2013, I've never had one complaint against me, I've never had any negative feedback, I've never had any returns, and I've sold thousands of Baseball and Football card's, and i I've always treated my Customers with respect and curdisy, and they want to put a 3 day restriction on my account because I confronted him, it's total BS, and I'm sick of it!!!! Another seller who was and still is doing the same thing, I called a couple of months ago and filed a complaint against him as well, and I spoke with a Supervisor who said she was going to investigate his account, well, 2 & half weeks went by and I said something to that seller again, and he messages me and say's "My account is back to 100%, Thank you", so when I checked his 20 negative feedback, they were all gone, every one of them, which is against Policy, they are not supposed to delete that many feedback all at once, 1 or 2, yeah, but not 20, and the repusentive in the feedback Department told me that it's against Policy, and he said it's strange, because it's showing up as if he's never had any Negative feedbacks at all, but I have screenshots of his Negative feedbacks, so someone in eBay wiped his account clean for him, which is protecting the seller and his Scam's, which feedback it there to protect the buyer's, so eBay is helping these seller's commit fraud, and I'm filing a complaint with the FBI, because eBay protects the CROOKS and helps them get away with fraud, so I believe that eBay should be shut down and prosecuted for fraud!!!!!!!

Selling on eBay is a BIG RISK. Only sell things on eBay you are willing to lose because chances are you will. eBay is 100% on the side of buyers, not matter what the case. Their customer service will say "we don't need you (seller) you need us (eBay)". eBay has legalized crime and is profiting from it. Buyers basically can do anything they want and get away with it with eBay's help. Not only will people steal from you, but eBay will punish you (seller) for being a victim. Buyer can buy your item, open a case saying "not as described", send back completely different item and eBay will take the buyers side every single time. Their entire system is setup to automatically take the buyers side, seller is automatically always guilty even with evidence to support otherwise. As a 15+ year seller on eBay, my company had avg $100 a day in losses from people who were doing this. Finally I decided to close the business, enough is enough. eBay profits from scammers, counterfeiters and punishes hard working companies who are victims of their policy. Well guess what eBay, we don't need you either. We switched to local based platforms and couldn't be happier. When people ask if they should sell something on eBay my answer is always NO!

There email/message GUI is circa 1999, html based one message at a time/hide the inbox. jpegs rarely upload as well, see attached. My computer and internet are quite fast. Items sold in China don't have return shipping labels, so ebay told me to go to the post office and try to ship it myself to China. This is ebay, where many sellers are from china, and they process tens to hundreds of thousands of shipping labels daily. Then, call customer service and they say since the item wasn't as described (the watchband doesn't fit), its buyers remorse and I'm responsible for return shipping to China...wow. They also do not allow you to add photos or information to an auction that has a bid, even though the buyers ask good questions and strictly adding photos only adds information, and prevents you from having to answer many of the same questions from sellers.

I sell items on Ebay. I note in my ads that I am disabled and unable to travel 10 kilometers to the post office to have my items registered. I offer inexpensive Canada post shipping as the option. I have stamps delivered to me through the mail. I do note that with regular mail the seller assumes responsibility for the lost items. This has worked well. I have thousands of sales and a 100% seller rating.
Recently a new customer filed a claim against me claiming that they did not receive an item. I outlined my condition and the details he agreed to when he made a purchase. This didn't stop ebay from helping themselves to my bank account (without authorization). I have spoken to customer service on many occasions and they are completely unsympathetic to how they discriminate against how their policies discriminate against the physically handicapped/ restricted. Not very progressive on how they deal with minority groups.

I can't possibly say worse things about their customer service. As an ebay Power Seller, I still can't speak to anyone who has even a slight clue. They fail to honor their own promotions and then charge you unauthorized fees. When you call you are forced to document everything with no burden on them whatsoever. Even if you prove your point the best they will do is tell you that someone will review the matter within 3 days. This never happens, you will not be called back, you will not be emailed and you will not receive a credit. These people should be put in jail.

Ebay should be shut down by the better business bureau. I tried selling some random things I didn't need and I had to call multiple times a week for the 6 months I used the site. Not one time was anyone helpful, they literally are taught to recite back what you've said to them and can do little to nothing. The website is full of secrets and I can never seem to get to the same page twice. They have reset my shipping on almost every item, causing me to lose money. Now, I am the victim of a fraudulent buyer who bought my camera and sent it to India and broke it, and eBay has authorized the return. My camera was NOT broken and the buyer was SO sketchy, and clearly committing fraud. I spent over 4 hours on the phone, being conveniently disconnected every time I asked for a supervisor, and when I spoke to a supervisor they literally did nothing other than recite the same stuff as the others. This was a complete disaster. Do not give this company business- it is a waste of time and they are HORRIBLE.

For me this was 1 item per month- When I spoke to EBAY about increasing the limit due to the costs of the items I sell they stated I needed more sales to get a limit increase which amounted to I would need to sell 1 item a month for a year to be able to have my limit increased to 2 items per month- Ridiculous, I had the highest rating you can get as a buyer and now that im a seller EBAY feels its ok to do the following:
1: Speak in a condescending tone and state point blank that I need to prove I'm a quality seller -- And I quote "Worthy of the EBAY name..".
2: Unrealistic limitations for businesses that intend on doing more than $500 a month in web sales. (Any small business that intends on succeeding by moving quality goods should avoid EBAY...)

It causes delayed payments from buyers for 21 days. They can reduce the total dollar amount and number of listings you can make and even limit your search rankings. I am experiencing all of these through no fault of my own even though my customers love me and rate their experience with doing business with them at 100%.

A day after the buyer ( trollanobm-76212) received the item was delivered he posted pictures of a damaged iphone 6 gold that could not possibly be the phone I sold to him. I called ebay and discussed what should I do because trollanobm-76212 requested a refund for an item and I begin to explain to ebay that pictures he is posting was not my phone! They told me to accept the return, being that he was making false accusations that I would be able to appeal it.
I just received the package from trollanobm-76212 and It was two iphone 4 broken screens. I called Ebay and was told that basically they have to side with the buyer with pics he posted. I never received a payment for the phone! It was always pending from paypal but the day I complained about the false accusations Ebay refunded $400 from my checking account! This is ridiculous I am in the middle of filing a police report and I am taking legal action.

I recently sold a phone for $165 and the buyer sent the payment to the wrong email address. eBay notified me that he'd paid and told me they were holding my money until confirmation of delivery, so I should ship the item to get my money faster. I did as I was instructed, even though the money wasn't showing in my account yet, and because of the payment being sent to the wrong address it was unclaimed and returned to the buyer. Now he has my phone and $165 and eBay won't do anything about it. I've been given the run around between eBay and Paypal and I have decided to stop selling on eBay from now on. I will not do business through a company who refuses to protect me as a seller and is unwilling to contact their own members in regard to theft! They won't represent me in the matter, and they're making this issue my fault even though I did as I was instructed and I have over 230 transactions and 100% feedback.

For the love of God - please fix your messaging system! I get messages from prospective customers and I can't reply from any of my devices. The page either loads a 3rd of the way and times out or I have to exit their message, go tap on their name and click on all of the links to get to the "contact" button (which makes you enter an item number, subject, etc.) - somewhere at Ebay you have to be using all sorts of different devices to test site functionality and KNOW that this feature is EXTREMELY broken. I pray (for your sake) that no one ever comes up with a better product because based on all the reviews on here and your arrogance (thinking you're too big to fail so you'll just ignore all these complaints) - you're going to find the fall is bigger and faster than the build-up.

I received an email saying I'm going to get $20 if I sell $20 worth of stuff on ebay. Then I sold 4 playstation 3 games so I can make $50 to get new ones. They ended up not giving me the $20 and charged me about 5-7$ on top of that. Also, they must have deleted my email on that account, because I couldn't find it anymore even though it was still in my email's inbox, but it wasn't on my ebay messages anymore. I also called them and they made it seem like I was lying when I still have the proof that they sent me an email. AVOID EBAY AT ALL COSTS! I have used ebay for many years, they were a company I thought i could trust until a couple days ago. Apparently I sold an item to a hacker that they found out a day later (security failure). I recieved a payment ofcourse before shipping the product ($850 galaxy Note 8). However I assume whoever paypal account the hacker used to send me the money was retraced back to the original owner. Thank goodness. Evidently this is a failure due to ebay security but instead I'm being blamed and faulted by ebay, who apparently don't think they should reinburse me. A company that cant trust the people who use them definetly don't deserve my buisness any longer.

I appealed a claim, I was told buy appeals dept. that it was in my favor after submitting documentation showing that I-Phone had an unfulfilled contract with a phone company. Phone co. unable to unlock the phone.Phone is possibly stolen. Was told to expect refund of $295.00 (I-Phone). This was on 01/04/15. Never received refund. Called appeals dept. was told no such statement by rep, not note on computer. I gave them name of rep. I was ignored. Now they telling me I need to contact a separate web site that I have to pay a fee and it does not guarantee that claim will be approved. This has been going on since 11/14. I thought E-Bay was better then this. Taking this up with Better Business Bureau and local news stations that would love to investigate this claim.. No longer going to do business with e-bay.

This is an interesting one. A Venkat Reddy Medapati from San Jose recently left me negative feedback on eBay without any communication and an erroneous claim that the Henge Dock designed for and used by me for 6 years on a 15" Mackbook Pro and sold to them by me "does not work on a 15" Mackbook Pro", which is patently false. I have sent the receipt to the buyer - and the part number provided with the item includes the abbreviation "15MBP", which means 15" Mackbook Pro.
It gets even better. Since it was shipped to a Venkat Reddy Medapati in San Jose, and they joined ebay in 2010, I did some research on Linkedin and found a San Jose based Venkat Reddy Medapati who looks very similar in their photos and their original internship with eBay started in June 2011, not long after they joined eBay in 2010, I can only presume that this is the very same Venkat Reddy Medapati who works for eBay as a Senior Product Manager. (And who uses their real name as an ID on eBay unless they work for eBay?)
If this is all true, and it appears to be, it would mean that an eBay employee wrecked my 15 year old 100% feedback rating since 2002 - when I started using eBay, on a false pretense. That's highly unethical if you ask me. If true, I started using ebay and building my 100% positive rating 8 years prior to this buyer / eBay employee - in 2002 he was just a sophomore at a university in India.
I certainly intend to find out more over the coming days as to whether or not my presumption is accurate - there is more than Venkat Reddy Medapadi in the world, but in San Jose with such a resemblance and using their real name on eBay? Stay tuned for an update!

ebay is the worst selling platform out there. i made a lot of purchases ( 150+) and 3 sales on ebay (my ebay record is 100% positive for 12+ years)and i used 2 times fedex as a shipping company and one time usps as one. 2 months later - $305.44 balance due to be paid. after some email chatting with ebay i found out - those extra charges came from fedex and ebay tried to make me paid them even though ebay provided fedex lebels with prepaid shipping fees. just stay away from ebay as a seller.

When you call customer service & ask to talk to a supervisor in the hope that you might get someone who speaks English at least enough to understand what you're saying or to care about decent customer service, you just get another person who barely understands you & just tells you to return the item & doesn't offer any suggestions or solutions! The people who review cases and have no clue to English give people their money back even when the seller does nothing wrong. I won't shop on here again if I can help it, let alone sell on here. Absolutely abysmal wretched company with horrible substandard customer service. All their call centers are based in India or the Phillipines now, so you can't even talk to an American. Instead you get some brainless foreigner who isn't qualified to tie their own shoes much less trouble-shoot a technical issue. Ebay is a dishonest, unpatriotic, extremely disloyal company who cares more about profits than they do keeping their buyers & sellers happy. You can't even email them for customer support anymore, their website mandates that you call their phone # and you're forced to talk to one of their undecipherable clueless agents overseas in some third-world country, and after many many days of doing this, spending hours and many transfers, dropped calls, being hung up on, put on hold forever, etc, etc I've come to the inescapable conclusion that eBay simply does not care about their customers anymore. I'm a disabled veteran who broke my back in desert Storm and had money stolen from me by an eBay seller who is obviously a fraud because of his recent feedback profile. I asked eBay to step in 2 days before it said that they could step in with my evidence that the seller is a fraud, and my evidence clearly shows 100% that he is a fraud, and they still refuse to escalate it! I've spent over the past three years roughly $75,000 on eBay and this is the first time I've ever had a problem on a $5.21 transaction!
