Absolute garbage service! Scheduled to have insta...

Absolute garbage service! Scheduled to have installation December 11th, guy shows up and says he needs to run a new wire from the pole on the street to my house, and will have to re-book the installation for a later date. No problem. Re-booked for December 21st, from noon - 5:00pm window, they canceled the installation again (not sure why) and re-booked for December 24th (today) from noon - 5pm, and once again nobody showed up. I called 3 times throughout the day to make sure they were still coming and was told that yes everything was on schedule, then sure enough 5:30pm rolls around and still no cable guys have shown up to do the installation. So I call to see what's going on, the guy on the phone says that there is a note on my file that says that they showed up today but could not gain access to my house! I've been here all f_cking day staring out the f_cking window waiting for the f_cking cable guy to show up to install my new cable service - NOBODY came! So not only is Delta Cable/Eastlink totally unreliable, have terrible customer service, but their technicians who are supposed to do the installations are complete liars. And to top it off, they were supposed to transfer over my phone and internet service from a competitor who's service I've been using for more than 15 years, to go along with the installation today. Since the installation did not happen today, the internet and phone provider that I've been using for years canceled my service because I was supposedly switching over to Delta Cable/Eastlink as of today, and now I have absolutely no internet or phone because my old company canceled the service, and Delta Cable/Eastlink did not install the new service like they were scheduled to do today. In other words, they completely f_cked me over. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF SWITCHING TO THIS COMPANY NO MATTER HOW GOOD OF A DEAL THEY OFFER YOU. They are complete and total garbage!!

If Shaw doesn't serve your area and you need to choose between Delta Cable or TELUS. Delta Cable is the right choice. They actually have a contract that people are willing to sign up for. You get the promo price for the full 2 year duration of the contract compared to TELUS which only gives you 6 months promo price out of the 2 year contract.

DISASTER, STRAIGHT DUMPSTER FIRE OF A COMPANY. I thought when i decided to go with the little guy they would be good knowing they had to compete. Boy was I wrong. The service hasnt worked properly once in the 4 months i have been with them and they wont let me out of my contract. How can I leave with no fees? they arent providing me with what they promised. Any Lawyers here to help me?

It was the only option when Shaw and Telus didn't provide services in this area. Service was terrible, devices never got upgraded, existing customer was treated like trash, every small feature got charged, each one G data overused was charged 2 dollars without notification. Now as other service providers are coming in Ladner, I happily switched without looking back.

STOP deleting my photos. I'm paying $102 before taxes for 300mbps and rarely get anywhere near that.

8/11/2018: Have been getting a throttled connection BELOW 60mbps for the past few weeks now. What is wrong with your company? Go ahead and delete my photos from your Google Business Page I'll just keep re-uploading them. Idiots.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. DELTA CABLE'S service...

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. DELTA CABLE'S service has gradually been getting worse ever since EASTLINK took over over the company. The worst thing is that Eastlink will short change the subscribers and not deliver on what has been paid for - this is commonly known as a THEFT.

Below are 2 photos from the last day of my subscription, yet I did not receive the service I had paid for in advance. Delta Cable (Eastlink) invoice period stated subscription days from 15th of the month to the 14th of the following month. The photos below were taken on the morning of the 14th. A day that I had paid in advance when I canceled my subscription.

So now that we know that EASTLINK'S PRACTICES ARE DISHONEST, here are the other problems with them.

1. I offered to return the equipment to Ladner office of Delta Cable, but Eastlink wants you to mail back them their equipment. They will provide you a mailing label. However, where are the packing materials? Whose liability is it if the equipment does not get to Halifax in good condition? Sorry, my installer offered to take the boxes with him, and since you have taken my money without providing the service I pre-paid for, I am not buying you boxes and packing materials for you.

2. About that service I already paid for: I already had a problem with Delta Cable/Eastlink's inability to provide a reliable service. I was reimbursed $15/day for the two days for inadequate service, it would seem that they owe me $15 for the last day of my subscription. I have not seen a payment for it. Where is my money EASTLINK? Considering that your practice must be a bit of a routine, I then there are many households that you owe money to. (Any class action lawyers out there?)

3. About that high-speed internet. Months and months ago I called to complain that I was not getting the connection speed I paid for, your customer service person's response was that I already have a very high speed connection. Here is a tip: The customers don't call your customer service to solicit their personal opinions of what is high-speed, and what is not, they call to find a solution to a problem. Again, I had paid a premium for a premium service and EASTLINK failed to deliver. On the upside, EASTLINK has been consistent, unfortunately they have been consistent on their failure to deliver for what was paid for.

Finally: Eastlink paid ~$2,000/subscriber for Delta Cable as I recall. Let them know what you think of their service practices and policies by using your money and take your business elsewhere. There is competition, call them and tell them to beat whatever your service price is. EASTLINK/DELTA CABLE services are like paying for a premium service at a discount store. Vote with your dollars, I am sure there is someone else who actually deserves your business.

Delta Cable has had extremely poor customer service since Eastlake took over. Channels all of a sudden don't work and when asked why, Eastlinks says the bundles have changed or "you are not subscribed" even though I have been watching for a couple of years. Constant signal dropouts, company not showing up for service calls or phoning to let you know they won't be there at the arranged time. This company doesn't listen to their customers and obviously feels that they don't have to. After 10+ years, I am dumping this company. Subscribing to the services of tghis company is not recommended.

Worst ISP ever. Our internet drops out. We were told that we wouldn't go over the data cap even though we stream all our media and now we have to pay an extra $40 for going over it. I will be looking into a different ISP who is much better. I highly recommend not doing business with this company.

Really terrible service. "Upgraded" my entire system, but actually downgraded everything. My wifi has been out for days, the TV says that I get absolutely zero channels, and when I try to call them to fix it they tell me they will help but never show up no matter how many times I tell them to come. Considering complaining to Telus pretty soon

Only being with Delta for 2 months and suffice to say my over-all experience from choosing my package to resolving service and invoicing issues has been pathetic.... GOOD BYE East-Link - HELLO TELUS.

Well, where to I start.....I have Thunderbird as my mail. I had been using it with no problems in California (we are snow birds) but when I returned to Canada (Delta) I found that all of my folders were missing and my address book in Thunderbird (TB). Luckily, I had saved TB to a USB stick before I left and I had all my files. I was having trouble loading them and since I had purchased "Beyond Tech" from Eastlink (byline for Delta..sounds better I guess) I proceeded to call them. That was Friday morning (April 15)...I have now been on for 38 hours with 9 agents and they have proceeded to change my user name to a TEMP file and could not get my user name back so they decided to do a factory reset....now I have lost everything and they still cannot get TB to work on the computer. These people have absolutely no idea what to do.....I have had to take over the mouse constantly for 38 hours to even show them where the TB backup files (D...external USB Drive) were!!!! I am still on hold, I have called Delta in Ladner directly.....the girls can't even transfer calls to anyone...they are only open for money issues (really? take the money but give no service)....if anyone knows how to help that would be great!!! I hate to give even one star but can't post until I do.

Oh God, so far I absolutely hate this company. We only got then because when we moved here, Telus wasn't in the area. Since getting them, the internet speed definitely isn't as good as Telus. Also my Wi-Fi keeps randomly cutting out. Which is a pain when you're online, playing competitive on Overwatch, and get kicked randomly. In the last two days my intertin has stopped working three times. This is ridiculous for what we pay. Of course after we got stuck in a contract, Telus set up high speed internet in our area.

Trash company. I don t know how they re still in business. They tell you one thing and do another, and their front office is HECTIC. Nobody there knows what they re doing. Where do they hire these people from?
Telus should just buy the company out and do them a favour. I heard Delta Cable is back East so that explain s a lot. Pretending like they don t want your money, it d be better if they were up front and said We just want your money, you get nothing from us.

I scheduled an install 3 weeks advance. Received a robo-call the day before installation and confirmed . Then received another robocall on the morning of the installation date and confirmed again (this should have been a sign...). Then waited from noon until 5:45 and no one showed up. I called twice into customer service and was told everything was on schedule. Moral of the story: save your time and your money and look elsewhere. An entire Saturday afternoon wasted. How incredibly frustrating.

Horrible customer service price is terrible, speeds where ok, sat and sunday closed so kinda a pain to drop off their equipment when you cancel.

Make sure to return their stuff they want 468$ if you don't.

Don't believe the robot calls. Was told to expect install between 5:30 and 8PM (3 separate automated calls), then got a call at 4:00PM saying the guy was on his way. Jumped in the car - missing happy hour, and drove to mom's place where the guy finally arrived around 7PM. Everything is done from Nova Scotia HQ, and the systems are poor. I called to add a few channels to her account after giving up on the website, and the kid took about 20 minutes to figure it out. I knew the exact channels I wanted, so there was no consulting, only connecting. The TV works fine, and Doug the installer was good with mom (99). Gave her a really simple remote, thank heaven.

Costs twice as much as Novus.

I can max out that datacap easily.

ignorant helpdesk that clearly has little technical knowledge; that try and upsell you to a 'premium' tech support for more money

lists things as 'supported' (like Thunderbird) when they are untested and actually broken. (correct passwords will not be authenticated)

The modem they provided stops receiving data for a second to two every 30 minutes, disrupting online gaming and streaming.

Takes advantage of ignorant old people by increasing service rates and barely communicating why or when this happens. They silently slip data caps onto packages that didn't used to have them. No honouring of prior agreements. Grandparents are now paying over $200 month for crappy internet, HD television, and a home phone. Didn't used to be nearly this much. They never agreed to any service fee increases.

If in Ladner, go with Telus instead (never thought I'd say that)

Even better, go with:
Techsavvy, Leopard Networks, or Novus

those three the best providers in BC

I called there office asking about a new power cord for their internet surfboard. I was directed to the service department were they booked me an apt. The apt. Was booked for between 12 - 5. I waited and at 4:50 I called to see what was up. After 20 very fustrating minutes I was told they wanted to reschedule. I asked to come to the office for a power cord they declined. Would never recommend Delta cable this is just one of our many frustrations with them. Moving to Shaw cable as soon as possible

The best choice in Delta for people serious about high speed internet.

Internet: Delta Cable is the fastest and best price. If are doing any business on the internet or you have a large home network and run your own router then you will benefit from cable internet.

TV: Delta Cable TV was decent but a bit pricey. The alternative is cheaper to hook you in then goes up in price and trust me you don't want your TV service to come through a phone line. The phone company will trash your house running ugly wires just to get cable to your TVs.

Phone: Delta Cable Voice system is very clear and totally painless to switch over to, I'm happy with their phone system.

we've been with delta cable for 7 years... service until now has been quite good, there were times when the tv service would freeze mid show but that cleared and the internet modem quality wasn't great at one point requiring regular resets. Things have taken a drastic change for the worse this year, fees rose dramatically and the customer loyalty promotions that have been offered are not nearly as compelling as they had been. The big problem that has prompted this review is the service request for a newer internet modem that was offered to me on the phone by the sales rep. I'm writing this as the third appointment passes without seeing a technician.
The first appointment sked for between 12-5pm was a miss because the tech showed up at exactly 3pm while i was picking up the kids from school, when there were clear comments in my file to call my cell before arriving to ensure i wasn't up the street. No call at all. The second attempt left me at home waiting til an hour past the appointment. no call, no show. Third appointment again no call, no show.

Customer service seems unable to offer any sort of answer as to the lack of communication from the technician nor much sympathy to the time i've spent waiting for someone that inevitably couldn't show up.

I'm sure they are not the best tv/internet provider and they do have their issues, but they offer a fair price and decent services. All of the issues I have ever had were resolved through the online chat or telephone.

I "upgraded" my service a month ago, and they came and dropped a new set top box. Since then I have not gotten all the channels I have been paying for. I called support department and was told they would send some one out "right away". Two days later I called as no one had been yet.. I was told that some one would be out in the next "couple days" .. No date, time I need to be home... nothing.. 2 more days latter.. Still nothing. I call back and ask again.. Same answer "Some one will be out in a couple days"... I ask for a supervisor, and get "Mike" who says same thing. "Sorry, there is nothing more I can offer - It is normal to have to wait 7-10 Days" I ask for his supervisor. He has none! (so he says) He then refuses to give me his last name. I am not at all impressed. Its now been a month since the movie channels have worked and I just got my bill for an extra $20 more than I paid before... If there is an alternative than I recommend you seriously look into it. Delta Cable is not at all interested in customer service.

If this was an isoated incident I wouldn't bother... but over several years I've found the customer service to be rude and push misleading products.

I've actually been hung up on without fixing the problem.

They are misleading in their advertising and told me again and again internet was not available independently because I would pay more. I had to demand to pay for internet only and low and behold it comes at a much reduced price. Basically the company lies to you and is rude. Doesn't get much worse.

3 days to wait for a service call when the problem is on the street, My bill is $240 per month and I have never heard of such poor service. Delta Cable is claiming all my equipment has failed simultaneously including our phone. Thankfully we are moving out of area in 6 weeks, I couldn't take this company much longer. I've been an idiot to stay with them as long as I have. Just buy two cans and a string and you'll get better internet..

Sure, it's a cable service, decent internet. Horrid customer service, missed 2 installation dates and where completely unrepentant about it. Crappy website, like it was designed 15 years ago by some dudes little brother. Crappy sub par 'self serve' pages. Confusing multiple logins for each service. Sure, the cake box touts all the functionality of the big boys but it's hard to use, confusing and if anyone in your family isn't technically inclined you can bet you'll be asked over and over again how to use it. It's the best and greatest cable box... from 10 years ago... Yeah, you'll get something for your month, but you won't like it.

Used them for years. No complaints. But then I got billed $2 per GB for going over. Months not over and I am 20GB over.

I call in and then find I can get an unlimited plan for $2 more.

Shame on you for this.
So now I have to check the site to see when I am getting a worse plan than offered.

It woud be nice to be informed when I am paying too much for now good reason.

As well your data alert emails when you hit 100%. Some warning woud be nice.

The service has been great but I feel like I am being nickled and dimed here. $2 GB is an insult. My 1 month overage would pay for 20 months of the $2 more for unlimited.

Most months I am under by a lot and I see no refund going to me this way.

Feeling like a not so special long term customer.
They managed to resolve the previous issue that I had I didn't have to go through it but I do respect them for resolving it

Constant issues with dropped connections.

Constant issues with dropped connections.

My internet goes down every 1-2 days for 3-4 hours a time.

This is an acknowledged issue by Delta Cable that they have been incapable of fixing for the last year (in my case). They admit to having an intermittent issue in the lower mainland that is "their single largest service disruption problem" - That said, I don't see any other providers having or claiming to have this problem.

Admitting to having an issue and refusing to resolve it while still billing in full is no way to keep a SLA with the public.

The power of the consumer voice is all I have here, if you are a Delta Cable customer please speak up if you are suffering this issue.

I'm a property manager and was trying to switch the service to the owners after they have officially moved in. But unlike Hydro & Fortis where the owner just has to call in and say "Bill me now" Delta Cable requires BOTH of us on the phone at the same time to switch the service. The customer service rep had the nerve to tell me that I had to understand the complexity of changing an account, that "there is lots of
equipment involved".
This attitude & poor service is all MY Fault!! I read the reviews here and thought it would not happen to me - they WERE nice when I wanted to start the service but not so nice to existing customers. Sad!

Completely garbage service, would give 0 stars if i could. Wifi cuts out all the time and is completely slow. Bought the fastest wifi speed package and still is as slow as the wifi at fast food chains. Would change provider if it was not for the fact that they have the monopoly in this area. Utter trash this company is. Do not go with this service if you have other choices. I hope that other companies/services will branch out to this area and kick this trash service out.

Was subscribed to Delta Cable's internet service s...

Was subscribed to Delta Cable's internet service since around 1999 and their service has become worse since.

The worst parts about Delta Cable:
1. Random internet service downtimes after midnight. No reasons, schedules or notifications given. When I asked if they had any notification system in place, the staff said downtime notifications are only provided to emergency services, not customers.
2. Occasional disconnects during the daytime.
3. Charging lots for overage on their small data cap (150GB). Their staff didn't bother notifying or offering another plan. Note: their website appears to state that they have "unlimited data" as part of their plans now, but I'd never trust their service again.
4. Even though we were a longtime customer, they didn't make any offers when we were leaving. They simply asked that we not leave because we had been with them so long.

I decided to switch to Telus this year even though I would prefer a smaller internet company. However, Telus had a plan with faster speed and higher data cap without the outages for the same price. Having been on Telus for about 6-7 months now, it's mind-blowing how there can be such a difference between the two services.

terrible company, wish I could give zero stars! my final letter to them:
Lazy Installer
We moved to Delta in August 2012. The technician who initially installed our system, mounted the modem on the wall of our garage, at the point furthest from the only TV in the house at that time (ie. opposite end of the house, and on differing levels). Not being a very hi-tech person, I did not think anything of it, but my brand new Smart TV (which was a top of range model at the time) would not operate very reliably. I just assumed it was because the Smart TV technology was fairly new, and decided to use it as a normal TV only.
Two years later I bought a Roku and found it also worked unreliably, which made me suspicious of my internet signal. I researched online for less than 5 minutes before learning that modems should be placed centrally in the house, perhaps even closer to devices which will rely heavily on wireless signals.
Yep, it turns out that the modem was placed in the absolute worst location possible, simply because the installing technician was too lazy to give a damn about doing his job correctly. To get things operable I purchased a signal booster. I later had Delta Cable come in and relocate the modem.
Billing Errors
I love pre-authorized debit, so that s how I pay all my bills with the exception of my VISA card. Sometime around December 2014, I noticed Delta Cable had taken a large sum of money from my account, approximately $350 more than expected. I called them to discuss, and guess what? They had made an error and overbilled me that month.
I said, No problem, give me my money back and we ll pretend this never happened . You said, We cannot return the money. The best we can do is apply a credit to your account, and you will have lower payments on subsequent bills until the credit has been used up .
I was in disbelief that this huge corporation would not return my money. Fortunately I did not rely too heavily on that $350, so I was able to live with these terms, but I did wonder about customers who need that $350. I was disgusted that this corporation would not be able to make an adjustment (due to their own error), in the event their customer actually NEEDED the money to feed their family or what have you.
And that was when I decided Delta Cable could no longer be trusted with access to my money via pre-authorized debit. To this day, Delta Cable and VISA are the only bills I do not pay by pre-auth.
Reduced Business Hours
Lucky for me though, I take my children to gymnastics classes every Saturday in Ladner, and Delta Cable s office is located in Ladner as well. So paying my bill once every month was very convenient...that is until Delta Cable decided to change their office hours and close shop on Saturdays.
Now the Delta bill is paid irregularly.
Interrupted Service
On October 29, 2016 I noticed I could not connect to the internet. I tried all the regular troubleshooting methods, but to no avail. Later in the day I decided to contact Delta Cable tech support. My service had been shut off due to an overdue account.
Apparently Delta Cable called to warn me of this on October 24th, however there are no messages indicating as much on my home answering machine & my cell phone does not show any missed calls that day.
No big deal, right? Wrong! I have two little boys who share an iPad, a wife with an iPhone, I have an iPhone, we now have 3 TV s in the house, all of which run Netflix, and of course there are computers as well. Our home, like many homes these days, is very reliant on wireless services.
Delta Cable is full of baloney! They did not contact me to warn me of the service interruption, and this is the last time they will piss me off. I want you to know I m wrapping things up and shopping around. Delta Cable will be losing me as a client very shortly, and as far as I m concerned it can t happen soon enough!

Been with Eastlink (Delta Cable) for 12 years due to their great pricing and "used to be" great customer service. Seems they have decided to move away from customer service. The service tech was super nice and finally fixed the issue after 3 visits, however when it came to asking for a credit due to the massive issue and inconvenience with their new Tivo service, I found the people I spoke with over the phone to be rude and condescending. No follow up call from Eastlink after everything. I had to call and request a credit to which they reluctantly agreed too after offer me something much smaller. They even had the nerve to me I was going to break my new contract after threatening to move to Telus. I can't stand Telus but maybe it's time to take a look?

Incredibly unreliable internet services and staff who has no idea what's going on. What's more bazaar is such terrible company can still managed to service. How sad for us who live in Delta. It's just redivulous politics and sad for all the Delta citizen. As I'm typing this oops the internet dies again. This company is a joke.

As much as we want to support our local businesses, and we do use Delta Cable, they continue to supply sub par service. We regularly experience outages on our WiFi typical 3 or4 tines a day. After 10 years you think they could get it right but alas......NO

Customer service sucks. They charge for channels that are part of their basic service and then take them away without warning or explanation. When challenged, they said I now have to pay extra to have that removed channel. I have been with them for over 4 years at $240+ a month. Time to fire them!

So frustrated with the customer service. Just spoke to a supervisor from back east and her tone was so condesending. Monthly payment promised has gone up by an additional $45...such a joke! They keep saying someone will call me back but its been a week and no one has. Each rep tells a different story as to why the can't honour the price they initially gave.

I was telus custermer for a few years. I had eastlink many years ago and finaly dropped them because of poor picture quality. Pixelation and freezing all the time.
Was having issues with telus internet and decided to go with eastlink again. Within a few days i regretted my move. In a month, ive called about 5 times for various technical issues. Equipment is subpar and remotes are not user friendly. There is no way to blockbout channels you dont receive, so chanell surfing requires you to go through all of the channels. Im constantly setting recordings on channels i dont get. It doesnt tell you you dont have that channel ! Picture still pixelates and freezes !
Overall, not happy and i am cancelling and going back to telus. This is not a top quality tv provider.

They kept cutting me off mid sentence and putting me on hold. Then after they take me off hold they'd give me attitude for not talking while I was on hold. They also kept saying that there has been an outage at my area since 3 pm but it wasn't even 1 pm at the time of the call.

I understand that customer service is difficult but I was literally only asking one question: whether our internet issues was on their end or our equipment malfunctioning. Is that question really worth giving someone attitude?

A 37 year customer and just switched all three of my places in delta and osoyoos to telus. I paid for Internet 100 and for a year was getting 7.5mbps I complained many times. My bill went from 150 to 220 in a month. I owned all my equipment but they kept billing for rental.
A once great service company has gone to ruin since the Thomas family sold.
They now billed me 600 for the rental equipment that for a year they randomly charged me for yet it was bought 5 years ago.
never will use them again. Couldn't even get my disconnection date right.
telus is now 110 a month, I pay for Internet 50 and get 55mbps and got a free 50 inch smart TV.
Shame on Eastlink.

We have been with delta cable for years. I have hated them the whole way through. Our internet will either have a major lag spike where our ping goes up super high, or we will just lose internet entirely. We haven't had proper internet connection ALL WEEKEND. I call them, and they always say the same thing "oh it's an outage in the area." "We will fix that now" really? All weekend you have been saying that. To anyone thinking about getting delta cable .. DONT. ITS NOT WORTH SAVING MONEY.

Really terrible service. They will downgrade your internet speed without telling you. We used to have an unlimited data cap and they took that away without letting us know and then billed us 80 dollars for going over the 150 GB data cap that we didn't even know we had.

After waiting 2 weeks just to get a technician over to setup my cable/internet, I missed him at my front door and only FIVE minutes later they couldn't get me another technician to help me for another TWO WEEKS. He didn't call my phone to say he was there, just turned around and left. The company did nothing to right the disservice. Cancelled subscription and went with Telus who were both cheaper and had a technician available within a day. Don't waste your time or money.
