So far and its early days with my claim but i have had 2 calls basically i 'think' to push to sign me up and then nothing.

I have no idea what information they need, what they are doing or when they are going to call or email me.

I will not phone them due to the costs of the call number. So jury's slightly out at the moment but so far not overly impressive.

Currently dealing with my claim, accident happened 9 months ago (October 2015) other party accepted full liability 7 months ago. still haven't received a medical assessment or physio, no idea what's going on..got an email today for the first time in about 2 months when I should have received one weekly. Probably not going to get this sorted any time soon

So be ready to be treated like a king for the firs...

So be ready to be treated like a king for the first 14 days (the time during which you can move out of contract) They will respond to your emails quickly, will call you. Basically will try everything to please you.

Once 14 days are over.. there comes the real face of Carpanters Law. You will never get email reply. You will struggle to get hold of your adviser. The adviser who was your best mate for first 14 days, will vanish from the planet earth.

I was given this rubbish company by Hastings Direct car insurance. Although Hastings were amazing throughout the claim, but Carpanters made the great experience with Hasting awful.

Guys, please please please, don't use them, you know you aren't obliged to use them or any provided by your insurance company in event of claim. If not at fault, hire privately.

This firm epitomises the phrase "COWBOY LEGAL FIRM" and is a wart on the entire legal system. It's been 10 weeks of sending emails and leaving messages to my solicitor at Carpenters who as yet has not even had the audacity to return the correspondence. As he advised me, because I purchased legal cover as part of my insurance in any event "They get paid" so the incentive to make a modicum of effort to resolve this matter is nil. They are rude to the point of obstructive and one would never believe they are being paid to work on my behalf. I've had the phone slammed down on me, accusations of being a criminal and being totally ignored. I'm now stuck in limbo with this case and it seems my only recourse is to take matters to REPORT THEM TO THE LAW SOCIETY because I believe they are now just being vindictive in not attempting to resolve this case. AVOID THIS FIRM at all costs because their level of customer care is abysmal. Can you conceive of a situation where your own solicitor insinuates you are fraudulent, after he has sent you to three separate medical examiners all of which corroborated your version of events?

It's no longer about the compensation now, It's a matter of principle. I leave this candid review as a means of protecting any potential customer from the same experience. I have a plethora of data to back up this review should anyone be of the mind to challenge it.

I had an non-fault accident back in December 2015 when I was nearly killed by the Third Party. The matter is still not resolved partly because of the poor case handling, bad tone from case handler and lack of interest. Avoid at all costs. They are diabolical.

I was very happy with the service provided by Carpenters after I was involved in a motor accident. I received neck and shoulder injuries after another vehicle crashed into the rear of my stationary car, after medication and physiotherapy over several weeks I am now almost fully recovered. Thankyou Carpenters for dealing with my personal injury claim and achieving a satisfactory outcome. I have given a four star rating because of some loss of communication due to a change of case handler and delays in some communications, however I would be happy to use Carpenters again should I be unfortunate enough to be involved in another accident.

This firm is not even worth one star. I had a non-fault accident on the 12/1/17 at first everything was going perfect I had a medical then nothing for months after repeated emails and phone calls I was getting no where. I then emailed my file handler informing them that if things did not improve I would be taking the matter up with the legal ombudsman as I was not feeling very confident that my case was being dealt with correctly after doing some research on the firm and seeing the reviews. Then like magic everything started to move again I had my first settlement offer through which I took as by this point I simply wanted it the matter to be over with only then to be told I had very little chance of getting the amount I was told. I then decided to get someone to negotiate my case for me in the process of doing so carpenters became very pushy and started to threaten to close my case due to lack of communication even though I had waited months for them to reply to me. In the end I moved and took my case else where only to be told that I had no chance of any solicitor taking my case on due to the utter mess that carpenters made. This firm truly is a disgrace very poor customer service seems to me that they are just complete cowboys. ALL insurance companies need to stop sending your customers here.

Looking at previous comments I agree that this company does has some improvements that could be made with regards to communication particularly responding to emails and providing regular updates. My case has gone very quiet for a month, sent an email 4 days ago to my claim handler Hannah Roberts and am still awaiting a response. I think if they could look at improving this it would make a huge difference to their service.

unfourtunately I had to use carpenters for my car accident. My insurance appointed them. They lost crucial evidence for the claim, I logged two formal complaints. One today and one in January. The one in January was overlooked and not responded too. The solicitors are rude. They show no compassion whatsoever. The customer service is shocking! Everything is bad. I haven t got one good word to say for them. I am still awaiting a claim so is my passenger. She has been treated like dirt also. They are lazy and don t want to do the work! If you ve had a crash don t bother with this shambles of a company! Find your own solicitor. I have learnt for if i unfourtunately need a solicitor in the future to refuse this company.

I had an RTA in August 2012. It is still not settled. My case has been passed on to numerous different 'solicitors' within Carpenters, each of whom have no idea what they are doing. Four and a half years of constant pain and daily medications, yet the medical evidence of their specialists completely contradicts everything in my medical records and what my doctors are saying. Jennifer Hawkins, the current person dealing with my case is rude and refuses to put forward a settlement offer I wanted. I want this whole situation finished. The third party has claimed responsibility from the beginning, there was no question about who was at fault and my everyday life has been affected ever since. I think its disgusting after so long that this is still ongoing and many other people seem to be experiencing the same thing. I will definitely be making a formal complaint and taking this further.

Prior to Lee I wasn't happy with the timescale, but then he sorted it. I am sure if he had it at the start it would of been fine and would have felt more confident in getting the right result

It's a shame that I can't give you a 0. You have really made life unpleasant for me. Had an accident on January 15, sent you a video of the incident which was crystal clear. It took you three months to figure out how to play the video and then you were able to tell me that the third party has been notified (not necessarily accepting liability). You told me on 1 May to wait up to 40 days...it is now 51 days today and you have told me nothing.

You can guarantee I will fight against any fees you try to throw at me. Your service has been unprofessional and lacking. You have caused me more anxiety and stress than the third party.

Instead of replying to me asking you to phone you for the 50th time, I expect a phone call from you. Do some work.

To everyone else, do not contact this particular solicitor. If you do, then make sure you ring them 24/7. If you leave it for a week, they will leave it for three months. Seriously, you cannot play a video? What IT services do you lot have?

i think they have been lying to me.

i declined the first offer as instructed by my solicitor. and was then told they would secure my physio invoices and add it to the claim to recieve an improved offer.

by improved offer was recieved but i couldnt accept as carpenters needed the invoice which they claimed they would chase after the first offer.

carpenters are not bad people, but just the lengthy annoying boring bullshit process has made this whole ordeal hell!!"!

Carpenters have been brilliant and I highly recommend them. They provided a great service and were very efficient, finalising my case 4 weeks after my car accident. My handler David McNally was also brilliant and kept me informed every step of the way, providing regular updates. Overall they made the whole process very easy and stress free.

First of all this has been a roller coaster of a ride! My claim took quite some time to settle but I honestly believe that this was because Carpenters wanted the best for me, Carpenters at every step had my interest at heart. I had a severe Motorcycle accident and my case handler (David Walmsley) guided me every step of the way on the road to my recovery and financial pay out, I am a very difficult customer and David was very professional, patient and empathetic to my circumstances. I could not recommend or Thank David/Carpenters highly enough for the service provided. Very Satisfied.

I would like to say that Naaiem Ishaq has been of a great help to me. She has kept me updated through this lengthy process and has advised me at each and every stage. Although this has been a lengthy process this is of no reflection on Naaiem due to the processes that need to be followed in regards to a personal injury claim and the third party insurers taking a long time to send across their offers.

Worst solicitors ever, any time I would contact them to make an enquiry about my case(once every 1-2months) which Kerry would be very rude and abrupt.

I m sure a simple 1-2 minute phone call is not very hard to politely answer to your client an update. But no any phonecalls I had with them they were never helpful and only rude, only sarcastically responding to me.

I honestly would not recommend this company to my worst enemy was directed to these from our car insurance company had an accident in Dec 2016 it's now almost July 2017 , no one ever answers the phone it can ring for 20 mins and more , as for emails I have sent roughly 15 and I've had 2 replies one of which was an automated reply ... and to top it all off I had had enough and accepted an offer made by the other company and these ignored that and went ahead and put in a counter offer ... worst company ever. This company should not be allowed to exist on the face on this earth. The person in charge of my case does not reply to emails, gives no updates. I have had to chase him on over 20 occasions. He does not care what so ever about our case. Its been 9 months and i still have to chase him for an update. Pathetic company. I was referred to Carpenters through Hastings insurance after i was hit by an uninsured driver. I have to say that Carpenters were absolutely superb from the outset. Throughout all my dealings with various staff, i found every single one of them to be both helpful and polite.
All my queries were dealt with promptly and accurately and i was always kept up to date. My case itself was settled in around 5 months which i think is excellent on Carpenters behalf.
I would definitely recommend using Carpenters and would have no hesitation doing so myself in the future. A big thanks to all the staff who helped with the case.

There is a lot of hype surrounding Carpenters.

I got given them to me by Hastings Direct and I was none the wiser as to whether they were a "good" company or not, initially there were a few teething problems in the way of customer service representatives picking up the phone and immediately hanging the phone up, or the other side of the spectrum would include them saying yes we will transfer you but the transfer seems to go to a phone that would litteraly ring 24/7 without anyone answering (I tested this for 27 minutes).

I then researched Carpenters and I see all these reviews of "bad", "terrible service", "dont deal with this company", so immediatly I regreted the decision of going with this company, after all 97% of the reviews cant be wrong can they?.

well I dont know what has happened between those reviews and my current findings (other than the slight name change), because I have nothing but praise for Naaiem Ishaq (My claim handler).

Naaiem got handed a shed load of cases and a massive workload, now I know everyone has big workloads to deal with on a regular basis but with the massive negative vibe that was surrouning this company I feel that Naaiem had it worse than most, but every exchange with her was straight to the point, very informative and always informed me of any changes that were being made, Naaiem spoke in a very clear and concise manner so I was never confused with my next steps in relation to my case. However 6-7 months (most cases are around 10-12 months) I find my case satisfied and the outcome good for both parties, and I cannot thank Naaiem enough for restoring faith in Carpenters and handling my claim with such proffessionalism.

Just a side note to management if in our day and age chloning becomes available for employee usage then please clone a few Naaiem's as I do believe you will not have as many negative comments as you currently do have.

Now amended my review to lowest rating possible: Carpenters handled my claim for injury following a road accident that was not my fault and the original claim was rejected and lower value was suggested.

In the end, the higher figure was actually paid by the other party but Carpenters paid me the lower sum and suddenly came up with additional costs (pure coincidence!) and have retained the difference - in their favour! This has resulted in the fees being far far higher than the 25% agreed - in fact 43%!

Even their settlement letter stated the higher value but the lower amount was paid to my bank. When I queried this, they tried to refute and gave me these new costs that don't stack up and refused to cooperate and have now alienated me.

I am therefore referring this matter as a formal complaint to the Law Society and will bring this to the attention of my own insurer, so that they do not get future referrals as I feel this is unethical and dishonest conduct for a gain against their client.

Truly disappointed over this and to have been taken advantage of and I therefore cannot recommend this firm to anyone.

The customer service is appalling. It has been a year since my accident a wagon in the wrong lane on the Coventry highway (left hand lane to turn right) hit into me as I tried to exit the roundabout (3rd exit straight on). They originally stated the wagon needed more room to manoeuvre which would have been fair enough. I then recorded an artic manoeuvring that roundabout correctly in the right hand lane to turn right which is double the size of the wagon that me. When I sent that video to carpenters Susan said this was good and they sent it to the client. A week later she said they are sending a letter to advise intended court proceedings. 3 weeks or so later they said nope no court action he was in the correct lane and it s my fault basically. They actually stated he was in the correct lane the left lane turning right. I have called for a subject access request to get all the files about me they hold. I said as I don t have a cheque book how else could I pay the fee, NO ONE COULD TELL ME not even the management were aware of the process. There s a clear gap in training and to be this seems very wrong to tell me you ll be sending the letter then weeks later tell me no. They are terrible to deal with promise call backs and never do they are a joke.

I have been reading mixed reviews and I have the hope that my one star flips to a 5* however, I am currently going through a claim for an injury within a car incident. My incident was in January and I have sent the same booklet off 4 times as I keep getting letters detailing that I have not responded. When I emailed my case handler he did give me an explanation (5 emails from me later) that there was a hold up with my insurance company. This is fine however, this email was quite rude as was mine due to the frustration of the time this is taking. Furthermore, since this email I have received 2 more booklets to fill in with the same details of the first 3! Is there anything I can do to speed up the process or can I have more communication as I am getting tired of receiving the exact same booklet due to you "not receiving this". Firstly, I must admit at the start of the accident I was very frustrated with my first case handler with the lack of response, no update or information for long periods of time, no emails answered for a period of time and I felt very unhappy as to how my case was being handled however, I was then transferred to Naaiem whom from the start has been amazing and so helpful.

I would like to emphasise the care, understanding and amount of effort Naaiem puts in. Even days where Naaiem would be in court she would still make sure she got me a message to say when she will be coming back to me.
With car accidents you can sometimes feel silly for getting upset or feeling so strongly about something but Naaiem really took into account how I felt and made sure she did everything she could.
Naaiem fought hard to try to reclaim expenses which I thought had been lost but she done a brilliant job as she managed to get me back a majority of my losses.
I feel that Naaiem s honesty, opinion and experience is a real value she holds. My previous case handler told me to claim anything and everything to which when my case was reviewed, Naaiem was honest with whether it is likely I would reclaim such items.

Naaiem is a real asset to your team. She is hard working, determined but most of all I felt like Naaiem really had my best interest at heart and I could tell her how things honestly affected me and she would have my back.

I wish Naaiem all the best (and a speedy recovery!) and I believe that she will truly have a great successful career, a real valued member of your team.

This company needs to be shut down. It s unfair to take cases on and not be committed to assisting the claimant. I have been dealing with this organisation for 17 months and the service has been poor, as well as recently being advised basically to not go ahead with my claim. I have had medicals, physio, the repair documents correlate with my version of events, I provided witness information and this wasn t followed up, and now my case apparently has concerns. They prefer to communicate important information solely by email rather than calling and building a rapport. It s appalling and not worth the extra added stress and anxiety on top of injuries. Seek alternative legal representation before you get sucked in to having this poorly run organisation represent you.

My insurers Hastings told me to go to carpenters I wish to god I hadn't. I had an accident years ago and Irwin Mitchell were professional and helped me loads with my claim regular updates and the claim was done in 4 months and paid out. My claim with carpenters had been going for 7 months now ! I've only just had a second medical assessment from a psychologist which I had to wait 3 months for it's a joke I call no one is ever in or available and no one ever returns your calls when you leave messages I've never been with such a terrible company ever !!!! My nephew died in s car accident less than a week before my accident yet they allow the other party to drag this ordeal out upsetting me more and for months on end they are in my opinion the worst I have ever come across and I will never deal with them again if I could switch right now I would !

This company is absolutely terrible do not answer you for weeks had a document stating I will have a answer as to my claim in 21 days and if they have not answered I will be contacted as to why they haven't answered but no surprise I have not heard anything I wish I never chose this company especially as I worked in this sector myself I know this is not how you treat your customers disgusting behaviour

I ve been dealing with Carpenters since my accident non fault accident in early 2015. Worst customer service I ve ever experienced. Staff seem disinterested with every conversation I ve had and are extremely poor at responding - multiple chaser emails are needed to get a half decent reply.

Would love to know what useless barristers they re using for this shoddy outcome. Absolute waste of my time, stress and inconvenience caused as a result of this company with me being out of pocket due to loss of wages for almost 2 years. Nice one Carpenters, good work.

I found my experience with carpenters to be a very positive one, they kept me informed at every stage and after a hitch at the very beginning, because of a misspelling of my surname ea instead of ee (which was promptly rectified) everything ran smooth and my claim was settled promptly

This is my husbands claim, but what a joke this solicitors is. Had a accident in september 2016 which wasn't his fault. The third party insurance group has admitted full liability, so should be a straight forward claim for injury compensation. Carpenters was quick on contacting you and then arranging for me to see a doctor for a medical in October 2016. The reports came through quickly, but I had to contact carpenters to see if they had been received. They said they hadn't, then suddenly had an email that same day to say they had. I told carpenters all they needed to know regarding physio etc. Out of the blue, had an email saying they were waiting for physio confirmation, and the third party have 21 days to respond to it, which I'll already told them, that delayed them uploading the medical reports to the third party insurers. That was in December 2016. Email after email I sent to carpenters for information I wanted to know to see if they had heard anything. Rang them instead on several occassions and kept being promised they would ring me back, but no response from them at all. Just a waste of time. I know it's only been a few months, but that's not the point when you are promised time after time they will call you.

Update 24th February. Everything now is done and dusted. Received a cheque within 10 days after accepting the offer. The end part of the claim went through quick. I kept ringing my solicitor so this is why it went through quicker, as I don't think I would have got it sorted otherwise.

Great service. I was kept informed of developments and requirements regularly by post and mainly email due to ease. Any enquiries I sent was dealt with in a timely fashion by my allocated case worker, if they weren't available for any reason, a colleague picked up the workload and obliged in case workers absence. Was very happy with the way my case was dealt with.

This is the worst solicitor firm I have ever used, extremely poor communication. My claim has been going on since March 2016 and it is now July 2017. I sent court papers off in January and not heard a thing back since. My case has been classed as a none fault since July last year according to my insurance and I've been getting 50/50 offers to settle my claim for personal injury from my solicitor. Something seems very fishy about this firm. Can someone from Carpenters let me know where a can make a formal complaint about my case handler so I can start my case to the legal ombudsman. To be honest they don't even deserve a single star! If you get your case sent to this solicitors do not let them put it through SY as he is a time waster and tells you he has done things for you that he hasn't which causes more time to be wasted. I will be writing a formal complaint as this is not acceptable.

Me and my husband used this company. They bill us after they claim we stopped communicating with them. THAT IS THEIR SCAM. They pass you around to different people then later say you stopped communicating with us. THEY TRY TO FIND A LOOPHOLE SO THEY CAN GET PAID IF THEY CAN'T WIN THE CASE. They aren't an honest company. I'm thinking about a CLASS ACTION SUIT against them to help everyone that has been effected by this company. Seems the reviews are all saying the same thing. Sounds like everyone needs to come together against this company and get compensated.

Had excuse after excuse. Had several handlers. Was told paperwork had been received but not put on the system now it's missing. Had very little contact. Only had e mail if I sent one first. I rang the company to speak to handler was given the run around. Never got a full answer. I am now with another handler and has yet I've not had much to do with her. Due to lost paperwork of connors medical state I now have to start again. I sent everything recorded signed for but it still managed to get lost. It's been 7 months now and my 12 year old son just wants closure. He was denied treatment (physio ) until I had him on a course of vitamin do as suggested by the gp you sent us to. Did this. HD had blood tests etc everything you asked us to do but still it goes on. Really disappointed it's taken so long.

Complete poor service. Every time I try to phone in there is no answer. I don't get updated on my case in months and then when I finally do get in touch there has hardy been any progress made. Not once have you guy contacted me in the past 4 months, I have had to phone in and email my self and I still hardly get reply. Would not recommend this company at all.

Jumping through hoops with no end in sight. No one answers the phone, no one replies to emails, passed from pillar to post and back again. I ve been fighting these solicitors more than they have my claim. My case handler is rude and obnoxious. When reviewing a recording I had many questions that he did not and refused to answer when talking to another solicitor in the same area they have stated there is a case that should require more attention yet he refuses to do so. They closed the case without even letting me review the recording. I have had to chase him constantly as he doesn t seem to be able to communicate very well and when asking to speak with his manager to make a formal complaint he shrugged it off. On many occasions others listened in on our conversations in which agreed he was rude and couldn t give me full answers and explanations I have been back to my insurance and this is being dealt with more seriously than he seemed to take my case so disappointed.

Rear end shunt in November 2015 . Suffered back problems ever since. There so called medical experts saw me now more than five minutes and seemed very dismissive of the information I was trying to relay about my condition. Have the cheek to say that due to a pre existing condition that was undiagnosed at the time of the accident due to no symptoms; that my present condition with my back is unconnected to the accident. Just trying to fob me off with no consideration of the future implications I may face due to this accident. Yes I have a weakness in my spine, but it never troubled me before the accident. The NHS spinal specialist that I've seen disagrees with there prognosis report and states that my symptoms I have now are connected to the accident. I don't think they have actually read my medical records. Can never get in touch with case advisor and they don't seem to listen to what your telling them. Formal complaint made. Terrible service

I had a car accident on 18th January 2019 now it s July 2020 and my case is no where. I have emailed Anthony evens soo many times no response at all. My last contact with them was four months ago. One of the worst customer service. No communication at all. They try to force me to accept 50/50 even though, it s not my fault. I had a witness statement too. If Only I could give 0 star.
